On Friday a group of left-wing “ministers” in some little-known “social justice” organization was given the platform of The New York Times to flog their ideas on how to ban guns. Their idea was to use the “buying power” the US government ostensibly has to force gun manufacturers to toe the gun banning line or face a reduction in federal guns and ammo purchases. Essentially, these purported ministers want to use the federal government’s buying status as a way to make an end run around the courts and the Constitution.
For the Metro Industrial Areas Foundation–a group that claims its goal is to “build power for social change”–authors the Rev. David K. Brawley, the Rev. Otis Moss III, the Rev. David Benke and Rabbi Joel Mosbacher had a novel if insidious idea on how to beat the courts, the Constitution, and force their ideas about guns on the country in a totally unaccountable manner.
They want their activist ideas implemented through the back door by having the US government force changes in the gun industry using its billions per year in guns and ammo purchases as a big stick to beat the industry into submission.
This would be no less than the federal government interfering in commerce on a massive scale.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell was so desperate to absolve Islam as a motive for yesterday’s terror attack by a Tennessee Muslim she tried to get a classmate of the murderer to say that the killer liked southern culture, guns, and hunting like other southerners do. Because, you know, conservative southerners are more prone to terror than Muslims are, right?
Let’s face it, Donald Trump has tapped into a very serious concern that most Americans have and that is illegal immigration. But the fact that he’s become a rising star in this GOP primary race at this time isn’t because he’s so great. It’s because the GOP is so damn bad on the issue. For Trump’s current success, the whole thing is Jeb Bush, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell’s fault.
When people today say that “the south” were all racist “Confederates” during the civil war you can dismiss them as either historically illiterate cranks, or liars. That’s because there was no such thing as “the south” during the civil war. History is more complicated than that and we risk not understanding our own country if we ignore this fact.
Fresh off her PR victory of calling for the end of Confederate history, this weekend South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley called for the removal of cotton balls from the her state citing the long history of racism the product represents.
As he exited the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin was supposed to have told a bystander that the founders had given us a Republic, “if we could keep it.” Well this week’s latest Obamacare decision by the U.S. Supreme Court proves that we ultimately couldn’t keep it, Mr. Franklin. America is now a dead letter.
A new poll finds that a very large number of American Muslims feel that sharia law is better than US law. And most consider themselves to be a member of the Democrat Party–a party that not surprisingly also has little interest in the US Constitution.
In Illinois we have a complicit, left-wing media establishment that will never write a bad story about Democrats. This deal with 8th District Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth–a candidate for the US Senate, no less–is a perfect example. Duckworth is being accused of punishing two whistleblowers who were trying to uncover Duckworth’s massive mismanagement when she was at the VA and yet the media is practically silent on the story.
America a father is needed: He should be strong of will, stout of heart, and serious in demeanor. He must love without being effusive. He must lead by example. He must have a soft spot for his daughters and tough hand with his sons. He must love his wife and family more than his own comforts because he understands that the duties he accepts as a father are more important than momentary amusements.
A Twitter user named Kevin Schaffner found the absolute perfect example of how the left lies about Americans while at the same time making excuses for Muslim terrorism. His example lies in two headlines from the ultra left-wing website Salon.com, one saying how all white people must answer for the shooting at the church in Charleston and a second saying that no Muslim needs to answer for the Boston marathon bombing.
Last month I noted that the Illinois state legislature is still pushing yet another tax to bedevil its already over taxed citizenry with the plan to push a tax on satellite TV providers. That plan has not abated.Unfortunately, it is just another example of Illinois burdening it citizens because of the failure of the politicians.
Are you a domestic terrorist who, for whatever reason, decide to plant homemade bombs and then lay in wait outside a Dallas police station to kill cops? Well if you are you have a big fan on CNN. This is one of my preeminent examples of why there should never, ever be such a thing as a union for a government employee–ANY government employee. A teachers union in Colorado has been caught red handed using tax money to fund a campaign to urge lawmakers to raise taxes.

But the coverage it is getting, though, is proof that both the media and Washington are broken.
On his way out the door, long-time CBS “News” hack Bob Schieffer admitted what we on the right have known for decades, that the “news” media thinks they are the gatekeepers of what we, the people, are allowed to know.
