FDR Invented The ‘Liar-In-Chief’ And Tore Down the Democrat Party And The Country

-By Warner Todd Huston

PBS and documentary maker Ken Burns have done it again with a wonderful look at the political lives of Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt. But if the series did anything it revealed to a discerning viewer how Franklin rebuilt the presidency on a pillar of hate and lies and remade the Democrat Party into a party driven by purposeful misdirection and deceit.

Certainly the series approaches these two consequential presidents as good for the country. Neither were as salubrious for the country as popular opinion holds and both did a lot of damage. To Burns’ credit he does allow conservative commentator George Will to slip in a few digs at how both Teddy and Franklin tore down the presidency and turned our country from a constitutional republic built on a pretty straightforward explication of the political raison d’être of any particular party, candidate or era and into a nation run by sneaky politicians who lie straight-faced to the people and don’t care about the Constitution at all.

Teddy Roosevelt did his bit to end our Constitutional republic, granted, and was followed by Woodrow Wilson who pounded a few more nails into that coffin. But it was Franklin Delano Roosevelt who really destroyed the country.

The truth is, Franklin was an utterly failed president in everything but his leadership in WWII. It has to be acknowledged that his stewardship of the war was great and maybe a lesser president would have left the US more vulnerable. But there is no doubt that he materially hurt this country in every other arena.

His domestic policy was a disaster, his economic policies utterly failed, and his disregard of the rule of law and the US Constitution was a disgusting display of arrogance and hubris. By forcing the world into war, Hitler ended the Great depression, not Franklin Roosevelt.

Illinois Website Beats Attempt to Silence its News Coverage

-By Warner Todd Huston

In 2011 a political operative attempted to sue the Illinois news website Illinois Review for “defamation” over one of its stories. This week a federal appeals court issued its final ruling dismissing the lawsuit handing the website a long hoped for victory for free speech.

The Thomas Moore Society was pleased to report that IR emerged the victor in this illicit attempt to silence them saying that Satkar Hospitality Inc. lost its appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. (See decision here)

“We’re very pleased that this blatant attempt to silence aggressive political reporting has been finally rejected by the courts,” Peter Breen, Thomas More Society vice president and senior counsel said in a statement. “Illinois Review has a First Amendment right to speak out on controversial issues, and frivolous lawsuits should not be permitted to shut down their free speech.”

Ted Cruz Does Right–Walks Out on Mid Eastern Scumbags Claiming to be Christians

-By Warner Todd Huston

Texas Senator Ted Cruz had a bit of a problem yesterday when it became an issue that he had agreed to speak before a so-called Christian group made up of Lebanese and Palestinian Christians. But when he announced his support of Israel before these “Christians” they booed him and he saved his reputation by walking out on them in the middle of his address.

The problem for Cruz was that he agreed to speak before the non-profit group In Defense of Christians. The problem wasn’t that Cruz was speaking before a group that seeks to support Christians in the Middle East, but that he chose to speak before a group of people many of whom support Hamas and Hezbollah and people who oppose Israel… yes, even though they claim to be Christians.

This was a strange move by Cruz, strange that he’d chose to go before this group of terror lovers. But he really saved his own reputation by what he did there.

Kerry Says Bible Commands Us to Help Muslims With Climate Change?

-By Warner Todd Huston

At a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaaril Zafar as the State Department’s “special representative to Muslim communities,” Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that the Bible commands us to help “Muslim-majority” countries to protect themselves from global warming. So, where are the media to whine that Kerry is trying to set up a “theocracy”?

“Our faiths are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our faiths are inextricably linked on the environment. For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain his first creation, Earth, the planet,” Kerry blurted out.

“Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid out in Scriptures clearly, beginning in Genesis. And Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable. Our response to this challenge ought to be rooted in a sense of stewardship of Earth, and for me and for many of us here today, that responsibility comes from God,” he asserted.

Finally a Lib ‘Journalist’ With Guts to Say He Wants Conservatives Banned from TV

-By Warner Todd Huston

We already know that the fascist, authoritarian left wants to ban anyone and anything they don’t agree with. But usually they have the good sense not to say so out loud for fear that people will realize they are fascist authoritarians. But one “journalist” finally admitted the truth.

Left-winger Ed Kilgore, who blogs for Washington Monthly magazine, made to comment on the new ideas that NBC has for revamping Meet The Press when Chuck Todd takes over the venerable Sunday political show (Todd himself is an old Democrat operative, by the way).

In his August 25 post entitled, “Who Should Be Banned as Panelists For the New ‘Meet?’,” Kilgore notes that NBC president Deborah Turness is saying that she wants to have a panel of journalists question each guest as a sort of “coffeehouse conversation.”

New Tone: Illinois Democrat Leader Says Republicans Would Hire ISIS Terrorists

-By Warner Todd Huston

Last weekend Illinois GOP candidate for Governor Bruce Rauner took the ALS “ice bucket challenge.” When he did he urged Illinois Democrat leaders to join him in the challenge. In reply, the state’s Democrat House leader outrageously found a way to link the charitable challenge to a claim that Republicans are like the ISIS terrorists in Iraq!

Instead of picking a long-time politician, Republican voters in the Land of Lincoln chose businessman Rauner as their candidate for Governor and he has been quite a different kind of candidate. I suppose he felt that the ALS challenge was a feels good way to lighten politics up a bit in Illinois–a place where calling politics a “blood sport” is an understatement.

Well, to show that even charities aren’t beyond being used for mean spirited political jabs, the office of Democrat House Speaker Michael Madiagn responded to the ALS challenge by claiming that Rauner would like to hire ISIS terrorists for his campaign.

‘The Atlantic’ Says Ferguson Riots White People’s Fault

-By Warner Todd Huston

Hey, you racist, black-murdering, stupid, heatless white people, The Atlantic wants you to know that the riots in Ferguson are all your fault because you don’t care… or something like that.

The liberal rag has lighted on the worst, most rote left-wing apologia for rioting that can be imagined essentially telling whites that they should excuse the riots, that blacks are totally in the right for destroying their own neighborhoods, and that the reason it happens is because stupid, racist, moron white people only talk to other stupid, racist, moron white people.

The Atlantic first doles out the many polls that show how whites and blacks differ in their reaction to the riots in Ferguson as well as in how police interact with the public, and the shooting of Michael Brown itself. The polls the magazine cited show that whites are a bit less concerned than blacks are over the issues and that blacks view the Ferguson case as emblematic of how cops mistreat all black people everywhere.

The reasons for this are two fold, according to columnist Robert P. Jones: Whites are racist against young black men and whites self-segregate and don’t talk to blacks in order to understand why blacks feel the way they do.

We Should Not Call Them The ‘Ruling Class,’ But the ‘Immunes’

-by Warner Todd Huston

In the bad old days when Kings reigned and the various classes of royalty vied for position the only danger for the “ruling class” was the fear that another member of their class might strike a blow against them. Unlike the lower classes, the rulers of antiquity were immune from the vagaries of life and out of reach of the law. In fact, there was no law. Unfortunately, we are headed right back in that scheme of life.

But one of the societal schemes that the founders of our country set about the task of destroying was that of the divine right of kings, the idea that royalty is subject to no earthly authority.

The founders wanted to create a society that allowed for social mobility among all citizens. They wanted a meritocracy where people could get ahead from the result of their own work and abilities. Above all they wanted a stable rule of law so that such stability could fuel growth.

For nearly 200 years their model worked admirably. But thanks to the drive toward communism starting at the end of the 1800s it appears that the founders’ societal invention has been destroyed.

The question for today is this: are we are living at the end of the American way of life? Has it been destroyed so badly that it is unable to be returned with the mere election of new leaders?

Why Did National GOP Operative Brad Dayspring Favorite a Teen Porn Site on Twitter?

-By Warner Todd Huston

In this electronic age it is hard to understand how any savvy political operative can be so stupid as to get caught in an electronic imbroglio of his own making. Can you imagine a big political operative favoriting a teen porn website on Twitter, for instance? One would think that a big time political hatchet man would not be that stupid. But here we have a case of it anyway with National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) operative Brad Dayspring who did just that very insanely stupid thing.

After the GOP establishment was caught stealing an election in Mississippi for Thad Cochran, people began to fan out in search of ammo to use against establishment stooges like Dayspring. Of course, mud slinging is an old political custom. After all, politics is a blood sport. But when you give your enemies the ammo all by yourself… well, it’s always just so hilariously stupid.

I mean, seriously. How dumb can you be to do something like this?

After the Mississippi debacle, Charles C. Johnson has became a thorn in the establishment’s side with his blog posts and investigative reporting on the illicit actions of the GOP heavies who swarmed into Mississippi to make sure conservatives and tea party advocates were thoroughly destroyed there.

Defiant: New Hampshire GOP Establishment Gov. Candidate Calls Tea Partiers ‘Teabaggers’

-By Warner Todd Huston

New Hampshire GOP establishment has foisted Walt Havenstein on the state as the Republican candidate for Governor. But, typical of these establishment types, it seems that they have more contempt for people on their own side than they do for the real enemy; the Democrats. Havenstein, for instance, calls you Tea Partiers the disgusting name “teabaggers.” Not only that but he refuses to apologize for his slander.

Havenstein was recorded on video calling members of the Tea Party “teabaggers” at talk he gave a few years ago at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Now, one might note that this speech was a few years ago, sure. Maybe Havenstein has changed his mind, maybe he was just trying to be “funny,” maybe he really doesn’t hate conservatives?

This Attack on Me Reveals the Dark Hate in the Hearts of All Liberals

Here is my favorite attack on me ever, one that reveals the inhumanity and dark hatred in the hearts of all liberals. The comment below appeared in the comments section of a liberal website called The Raw Story.

The Raw Story posting was talking about one of my articles and this comment appeared in the comments section:

“Huston, with his noxious views and ugly personality, can make even so utterly offensive a person as Elliot Rodger, seem human…◔_◔”

Now, you may recall that Elliot Rodgers, the son of a good Hollywood liberal who is in the movie business, was the scumbag liberal punk and who murdered six people in California because he was upset that when he went to college he wasn’t able to have sex every night.

So, remembering who Elliot Rodgers is, to these liberals me being a conservative who might not be the fun guy at a party is WORSE than a guy who committed mass murder. They hate conservatives and others with whom they disagree on politics SO much that they deem them to be worse than mass murderers.

This is why liberals are evil. ALL OF THEM.

Now Destroying Unions is the Same as Reforming Government

-By Warner Todd Huston

Years ago folks that stood against unions always had that one obstacle of “private” concerns in the way of urging people away from unionism. But today, with most unions being tied directly to government, now fighting unions is an act of beneficial government reform.

Once upon a time, the biggest hurdle for those arguing against unionism was the simple truth–and it was a truth–that unions and businesses were private concerns and if the two entities agreed to co-exist, who was an anti-union activist to say anything against the arrangement?

This is a simple, logical question that always made anti-union activists look like meddling outsiders. And the truth is, no matter how right they were that unionism is a bad idea for everyone, they were meddlers!

But today we have a far different situation for those who stand against unions. Since 1959 when unions were first allowed to organize government workers unions have slowly encroached into nearly every aspect of government causing spending to soar, bloating pensions beyond belief, and destroying the efficiency of government.

Virginia Betrayal: The Republicans’ False Claim of Party Unity

-By Warner Todd Huston

Yesterday I noted that it is time for conservatives to start planning the demise of the Republican Party and today, in Virginia, we get one more example of why this is a necessary action. We see it in what the GOP establishment did to Dave Brat, the man who beat Eric Cantor in this month’s primary, and it is a perfect example of how the GOP’s claim that party unity is important is simply a flat out lie.

Remember how this always works: When a conservative challenger loses a primary to an establishment Republican the GOP bigwigs run around urging the voters who voted against their establishment candidate to vote for their hack in the general. They say that conservatives must support their hack because of “party unity.”

These party hacks say that after a primary we must now patch up our differences and stand as one to defeat the Democrats and that our ideas will be incorporated with theirs in governance. We have to be one big happy family, they say.

With Thad Cochran it’s Time to Think Long Term About Destroying the GOP

-By Warner Todd Huston

The tea party movement is often accused of not thinking long term. In many cases this is probably a true accusation because most tea partiers think an election is a goal in and of itself. But with the underhanded, anti-conservative, un-American tactics of the GOP establishment that gave Thad Cochran a primary win in Mississippi, it is obviously time for the tea party to start planning the destruction of the GOP establishment.

Thad Cochran and his patrons allied with former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour did not run an honorable campaign. In the waning days of their campaign it was their strategy to lie about conservatives, throw the race card and scare vulnerable black voters with tales that the KKK would swoop down upon them if Cochran’s tea party opponent won the primary, dole out cash to voters for their vote, and tell them Cochran would increase free food stamps for them if they crossed over and voted in the GOP primary.

In short Haley Barbour and the senile Cochran perpetrated every low down, Democrat-styled trick to destroy a true conservative candidate just so they could remain in power. These so-called Republicans purposefully disenfranchised tens of thousands of Republican voters.

Media Malpractice on ‘New’ (Actually Old) Scott Walker Charges

-By Warner Todd Huston

When most of you woke up today you saw media coverage all across the country breathlessly “reporting” that Republican Governor Scott Walker was facing “new” charges that he engaged in a “criminal scheme” to illegally coordinate with outside groups during his 2011/2012 recall election. But the fact is, the allegations were all dismissed and this isn’t anything “new” at all.

The “news” that occurred on Thursday is that groups suing the state for its unfair and illicit investigation asked a judge to release documents pertaining to the invalidated “John doe” investigation. So, the “charges” that were reported as if they were new on Thursday night and all day Friday are not “new” charges at all. They are just old charges being made public for the first time.

As I wrote at Breitbart:

The initial series of far-reaching investigations were declared at an end on March 2 of last year. It resulted in no charges being filed against the governor.

Despite the purported end of the investigation, though, prosecutors continued their attacks on Walker and his associates until by May of 2014 U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa issued an injunction calling into question the legitimacy of the whole operation.

The information released Thursday came at the behest of the conservative groups suing officials for using the prosecutor’s office to launch a political campaign against them in violation of their rights to free speech.

So, as you see, these documents were released at the request of people who support Gov. Walker so that they can show the public how the state violated the law.

WIND Kicks Joe Walsh Off The Air, Station Refused to Allow Honest Discussion of Racism

-By Warner Todd Huston

Former Congressman Joe Walsh joined WIND AM 560 not long after he left Congress and has been doing a great, fearless job on the air. The station was even beginning to look into syndicating him. But now, because he tried to have an honest discussion about racism, the station got cold feet and suspended him until further notice.

Here is some of what the Chicago Sun-Times said today

According to posts on former U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh’s Twitter account Thursday night, the conservative radio talk-show host was kicked off the air on WIND-AM (560) for using racial slurs while trying to have a discussion about racial slurs.

In a series of tweets posted about 7 p.m., Walsh says: “Just got kicked off the air until further notice. Tried to have honest discussion about racist terms and management censored my language.”

And: “I’m trying to have an honest, adult conversations about words without resorting to alphabet soup phrases (C-word, N-word, etc).”

The posts said the discussion involved the ethical debate about the name of the pro football team in Washington, D.C.: the Redskins.

Joe’s show is from 5PM to 8PM weekdays.

You can follow Joe on Twitter at https://@WalshFreedom.

In Memorial: Illinois’ Conservative Giant Jack Roeser

-By Warner Todd Huston

I have been made aware that the great Jack Roeser passed away last night. This is a great loss to conservatism in Illinois, but Jack was in his 90s and in delicate health, so it isn’t a surprise, sadly.

Mr. Roeser was very generous with the fortune he built from the ground up as owner of Otto Engineering, a high tech firm located in Carpentersville, Illinois.

Roser was a hard charging conservative and often made folks both left and right mad at him for his choices of causes and candidates, but he was also unapologetic and fearless. In this day and age when people are always mewling and apologizing for their actions, you have to admire a real adult like Roeser making his choices and sticking with them regardless of the “consequences.”

Leftist Donna Brazile Warns The GOP Civil War is Over, The Tea Party Won

-by Warner Todd Huston

Old Clinton hack Donna Brazile has a message for her readers: the GOP civil war is over and the Tea Party won. While Brazile is usually fully expected to be typically and wholly wrong in her left-wing proclamations and while asking a liberal what is going on with conservatives is usually a waste of time, like the stopped clock, Brazile got this one more or less right.

Brazile piece written her piece for CNN notes that the whole of Washington was surprised by GOP strongman Eric Cantor’s primary loss and is shocked that he will not be returning to Congress even as he thought he was headed to a big primary win and looking forward to more and more power if not the Speaker’s chair itself.

After chronicling Cantor’s loss Brazile also touched on the run off that establishment Republican Thad Cochran has been reduced to in Mississippi and pointed out that Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell only won his own primary in Kentucky by edging closer to Tea Party principles during his campaign.

GOP: Obama’s Impeachment Off The Table

-By Warner Todd Huston

This may anger many conservatives–especially those who don’t necessarily call themselves “Republicans”–but the GOP establishment has essentially said that impeaching Obama is off the table. As much as I despise this president, I have to agree with the decision.

According to The Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard: “Despite anger in many quarters of the nation over the president’s prisoner swap, Republicans are backing off impeachment threats because they fear it would rally President Obama’s Democratic base and kill the GOP’s chances to win the Senate, according to congressional insiders and sources.”

Sources tell Bedard that the GOP establishment think that launching any impeachment efforts now would only rally the Democrats right before the 2014 general elections.

Though I am no fan of the GOP establishment, this is sensible thinking, really.

But I would also say that there is no point launching any impeachment efforts after the election, either.

Illinois General Helped Create Memorial Day

-By Warner Todd Huston

A few years after the Civil War as the nation started upon its long road toward reconciliation, rebuilding, and healing the wife of one of the war’s union generals noticed the touching devotion of Confederate widows, wives and their children as each year they came together to place flowers and little flags at the graves of their fallen. Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan was so moved by the devotion she witnessed that she urged her husband, Illinois General John A. “Blackjack” Logan, to look into creating what was to become Memorial Day.

General Logan was a Senator from Illinois and eventually became a candidate for Vice President on the 1884 Republican ticket, losing to Grover Cleveland and another Illinoisan, Vice President Adlai Stevenson. But before all that Logan was instrumental in creating Decoration Day, the celebration of the nation’s war dead that eventually became Memorial Day.

The following is the general order that Logan issued in 1868.

HEADQUARTERS GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC
General Orders No.11, WASHINGTON, D.C., May 5, 1868

The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

Liberal Columnist: Anti-Black Racism Used Against Bill Clinton, Too

-By Warner Todd Huston

Proof that liberals can see racism everywhere they look, a liberal columnist has written a piece saying that Obama isn’t the only President that white racists attacked. They “racialized” Bill Clinton, too.

On May 8, one of The Atlantic’s race-centric writers, Ta-Nehisi Coates, felt the need to disagree with another writer for his publication by insisting that, just as the do Obama, white racists did, indeed, attack Clinton with their bigoted antics

Coates was responding to The Atlantic’s Peter Beinart who wrote a May 2 piece reminding readers that “not all Republican opposition to Obama is racist.”

Beinart summed up the feelings of liberals well saying that today they feel both frustrated and liberated at the same time.

CA Candidate That Lobbied For Obamacare Running as… a Republican?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Politics might make strange bedfellows, but this one really takes the cake. In California Elizabeth Emken is running for the 7th District U.S. House seat in an attempt to unseat Democrat Ami Bera. But even though Emken was a lobbyist for Obamacare, she is strangely running as a Republican and using Bera’s support for Obamacare as a weapon against him.

A recent fundraising email that Emken sent out, for instance, states: “As you pay your federal taxes today, I thought you’d like to know how much more Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Ami Bera have signed you up to pay over the next 10 years. Obamacare alone will cost the federal government $1.4 trillion to expand and subsidize health insurance coverage.”

“And to add insult to injury, the IRS is in charge of enforcing it,” her email continues. It ends saying, “I don’t know about you, but I believe we are taxed enough already. We need leaders who are willing to stand up for the taxpayers and help create a tax environment that encourages growth and productivity, not a government that punishes you for success.”

This is all good stuff and the standard GOP line against Obamacare. So, why is this so odd coming from Emken?

Guns And Abortion: States Starting to Rebel Against Federal Control

-By Warner Todd Huston

As a conservative it is easy to look at Washington and find nothing but despair. Socialism is once again on the march with autocratic Democrats and left leaning “Republicans” all seeking to raise taxes, spend more, destroy the integrity of our borders, eviscerate our military, spy on us all, and impose a one-size-fits-all education scheme. In DC, the Democrats are practically indistinguishable from the Republicans. But a bright spot is seen in those states who are rebelling over this top down control by liberalizing gun laws, restricting abortion, and otherwise beginning to look for ways to assert their long dormant powers.

When the founders created this country they imagined that they had practically eliminated the chance for tyranny by creating a governing plan that featured a segmented system. The founders expected each segment to zealously look to protect their rightful powers.

The founders thought that Senators would fight for their states, Congressmen would fight for that segment of voters who elected them, Presidents would guard their own enumerated powers, states would strenuously reject any expansion of federal powers, counties would reject state interference and cities would vigorously enforce their own authority.

There was a time when states’ rights weren’t just some false call used to protect slavery!

Unfortunately, this country lost its once proud obstinacy and everyone began to fall to a socialist-styled assumption that the federal government should control everything from Washington D.C.

It is easy to imagine that the founders would have already started shooting at and/or tar and feathering government officials by now, but the tide of this un-American control from the top is starting to show some signs of collapse. A bloodless revolution seems to be forming.

Poll: Even People in Illinois Say Illinois Worst State to Live In

-By Warner Todd Huston

Now, usually when a state is dissed it is dissed by people from outside the state. With the usual hometown bravado, and all, denizens of a state used to stick up for their own in the face of criticism. But a new poll finds that Illinois is so bad, even people that live there say it sucks.

America is a land of polls, for sure, but this poll is a particularly telling one. The Gallup polling firm asked residents of the 50 states (or the 57 states if you are our clueless President) what they thought about their own home states. It turns out that Montanans really love their state. But Illinois and Rhode Island? Not so much.

The top five states where residents are happy to live right where they are living are Montana (77% of residents love the place), Alaska (also 77%), Utah (70%), Wyoming (69%), and Texas (68%).

Further, if you ask everyone the general question of where the best place to live is, Texas wins, followed by Alaska then Hawaii.

Clinton Papers: Bill and Hillary Feared the Internet

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Clinton Library has released over 7,000 pages of documents from Bill’s presidency, likely hoping that what ever is in them will be “old news” by the time Hillary announces her bid for president. But one of the documents is very interesting and shows that Bill and Hillary really feared and hated the free flow of information on the Internet.

A report, titled “Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce,” was meant to “prove” Hillary’s claim that a “vast right wing conspiracy” was trying to destroy her and Bill. It also made to explain “the Internet influence.”

In 1998, Hillary appeared on NBC’s Today Show and said that a “vast right wing conspiracy” had been trying to destroy her husband “since the day he announced for president.”

Of course, her absurd claim became the joke of the decade and for years afterward conservatives were proud to belong to that “vast right win conspiracy.” The phrase became such a joke, though, that Clinton’s White House decided it had to “prove” the claim with a report linking that “conspiracy” all together.

2014 Illinois Tea Party Tax Day Tea Party Rally in St. Charles

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Illinois Tea Party (illinoisteaparty.net) held its sixth annual Chicago Tax Day Tea Party rally, but this year without the “Chicago” part as the group held their rally in the western suburbs. Specifically, the event was held in the Arcadia Theater in St. Charles where some 300 participants attended to hear candidates for office, activists, and patriotic music.

The April 15 rally targeted Obamacare and Senator Dick Durbin, of course, but mentions of the Illinois Republican Party, Sec. of Treasury candidate and establishment GOPer Tom Cross, and Senator Mark Kirk drew as many boos as the Democrats showing that grass roots conservatives have about had it with the feckless, powerless Illinois GOP.

Head of the Illinois Tea Party Denise Cattoni

Not all elected Republicans were opposed, though. One of the very first speakers introduced by Ill. Tea Party chief Denise Cattoni was State Rep. Jeanne Ives of Wheaton. Ives, while not a dynamic speaker, had a great five-minute speech written up with her key point being that she was going to be troublesome to the state Republican Party. “I will continue to be troublesome, just as troublesome as possible in Springfield,” she said warming to her theme.

State Rep. Jeanne Ives

The first speaker was State Senator Jim Oberweis, who went on first so he could get to a fundraiser.

Candidate for U.S. Senate Jim Oberweis

Oberweis is running as an admitted “underdog” to ultra left-wing Senator Dick Durbin. Obie, as his supporters affectionately dub him, noted that we need to stop the extremism in Washington and made to whip the audience up to dump Durbin by having them repeat, “Millionaire.
