The USA has fallen another few notches on the freedom scale thanks in part to the increasing lawlessness of Obama and his Democrat cohorts according to the latest freedom list put out by the Cato Institute.
Over the last half dozen years or so the USA has slowly lost ground on the Cato Human Freedom Index. This country was once in the top 5 countries with the most freedom but this year the USA slipped several more places to the 20th spot.
Only last year the US was ranked 17th on this yearly list, but this year we’ve fallen to 20.
This slip in the rankings is mostly due to the fact that businesses are being strangled by oppressive regulations and crushed by rampantly greedy unions. But it also due to the end of the rule of law in the US as government ignores laws, re-tooling them and warps them at will in order to feed its rapacious appetite for complete control of our lives. And most especially the sharp rise in abuse of eminent domain rules allowing government to steal private property on a whim has contributed to American’s loss of freedom.
“Since the year 2000, the U.S. has been on a decline in terms of economic freedom,” Co-author of the report Ian Vasquez told The Daily Caller News Foundation on Wednesday.

Like all extreme socialists, Obama’s new food czar thinks that government should completely control all aspects of food from its production and is dissemination, even to what is allowed to be advertised and what you are allowed to eat.
One of the claims that the left is erroneously using to justify Obama’s new amnesty policy is that he has the “prosecutorial discretion” to do what he is doing and on Thursday Fox News’ Dana Perino agreed with the left that Obama does, indeed, have that power.
Hillary Clinton has been pretty silent over Obama’s amnesty. She has not chastised this president for his abuse of power. But this might seem to be inconsistent with her past comments because there have been at least five times when she said that our presidents need to be reigned in and have their powers limited.
The man who was trying to shop the Gruber videos to the media was rebuffed by the Old Media Establishment repeatedly because they had no interest in highlighting the fact that Obama and his Obamacare cohorts were lying to the American people about the President’s signature healthcare law.
Transparency, shmansparency. Once again we see a government doing its level best to keep you, the people, from being able to find out what it is that government is doing to you. This time it is in failing Illinois where lawmakers are trying to make it much, much harder to fulfill a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
After the shellacking that President Obama received at the hands of voters in the midterm elections, his chief advisor, Valerie Jarrett is finally in the hot seat. Over the weekend, two articles attacked her as all that is wrong with the White House with one piece slamming her the “Obama whisperer” and another one flat out advising Obama to fire her.
In a revisited interview, the architect of Obamacare is seen saying that the lack of transparency in the President’s healthcare law is a feature not a problem. After all, if you rubes could figure it out, you’d really understand what an un-American mess Obamacare is. Obamacare is a total mess, a Gordian Knot that cannot be cut through by mortal men. And it was made that way on purpose.
If you are a US Senator that supported Obamacare and/or one who supported the vaunted “Gang of Eight” senators who were seeking immigration compromise you are preparing for a long retirement back home in most cases because voters threw you out on your ear.
A few days ago, First Lady Michelle Obama was in Southern Illinois and during her speech she noted that Illinois leads the nation in job creation. This is a flat out lie. Not just political spin, but based solely on statistics, a straight out lie. And where was the media? Practically silent.
An interesting new TV ad campaign that targets the left-wing media instead of just a political party or candidate has begun in North Carolina as Election Day bears down upon the nation.
The Senate race in Colorado has begun to turn in favor of the Republicans over the last few months but that favor may grow as this week it was learned that some 22,000 citizens are losing their healthcare plans. But Politico claims it is “unclear” if those cancellations are a result of Obamacare.
A recent report by ProPublica finds that young black males are 21 time more likely to be shot and killed by police than are others. But the report does not take note that young black men are also disproportionately involved in crime.
Traditionally, Republicans are supposed to be against the redistribution of wealth in the USA. But it seems times may be changing with at least three purportedly conservative leaders in Congress suddenly advocating for at least some income redistribution.
“They’re not allowed to wear anything that would have a weapon on it,” district 
Ansel Adams made himself and our national parks famous for photographing the natural beauty he found in the great American west. Now, in this land of “freedom and liberty,” Obama plans to prevent any more Ansel Adams by forcing photographers to get permits to be allowed to photograph our parks.
Reason.tv went to the silly “climate march” in New York City last weekend and took some revealing video of halfwits that attended showing that most of them don’t have the first real, solid idea what they want to happen to address the problem they claimed they were marching for. But there did seem to be a consensus that capitalists need to be put in jail and the rest of us need to “do without” modern conveniences like cell phones, and the air conditioning, heating, and powering of our homes.
PBS and documentary maker Ken Burns have done it again with a wonderful look at the political lives of Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt. But if the series did anything it revealed to a discerning viewer how Franklin rebuilt the presidency on a pillar of hate and lies and remade the Democrat Party into a party driven by purposeful misdirection and deceit.
Witness the end of the USA: An appeals court in California has now let stand a lower court’s ruling that white kids aren’t allowed to wear t-shirts with the American flag on them to school when illegals are celebrating the faux Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo.
Later this month, the Clinton Foundation is throwing a big gala to honor its 2014 Global Citizen Award winner, actor Leonardo DiCaprio. But with this hoity-toity gala, so much for Hillary being the “populist” woman of the people.
Obama’s Illinois perennially ranks at the very bottom of every statistic that marks a successful state and a new report on America’s “sinkhole states” finds that Illinois again ranks at the very bottom this time for how much state debt each citizen is saddled with.
Are you a stupid American? Obama’s government thinks you are. So stupid, in fact, that his US Forest Service felt it necessary to give us all a 700-word article on how to roast marshmallows. Because, you know, you are all too stupid to know how to do it safely, and all.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the Centers for Disease Control had tested six patients across the nation for the Ebola virus. But, even as the CDC has admitted testing these six patients the agency is refusing to inform the nation about just where all those suspected cases of Ebola are located.
