A coach for a prep school in Arizona has been suspended for praying with his team during last week’s homecoming game. He was told it was “against the law.”
Tom Brittain, the head varsity coach for Tempe Preparatory Academy–a state-funded charter school–found himself suspended after the “offensive” praying.
The coach was told to keep the praying off the field, but apparently he didn’t feel disposed to have his constitutional right trod upon by school administrators.
His boss, headmaster David Baum told the media, “He is a man who likes to pray and I don’t object to that. Just, he can’t do that with our students. That’s the only prohibition.”
Then Baum claimed it was he, rather than the coach, who was trying to “protect” the Constitution.

A New York school took quick action to ban t-shirts being handed out by a New York National Guard recruiter because the shirt “promoted violence” since it had an drawing of a U.S. soldier in battledress on it. And, *gasp*, the drawing of the soldier was holding an evil, evil GUN!
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School in Ravena, New York, said that the Guard recruiter’s t-shirts were “inappropriate” and violated the school’s dress code because of the gun image.
“They’re not allowed to wear anything that would have a weapon on it,” district Interim Superintendent Alan McCartney told the Times Union. “Our main purpose is education. Wearing pictures of weapons brings to mind those things in our society that are not pertinent to education.”
So, even mentioning America’s fighting forces is “not pertinent to education”? This man is an idiot who should be fired just because he is plainly too stupid to be in “education.”

Ansel Adams made himself and our national parks famous for photographing the natural beauty he found in the great American west. Now, in this land of “freedom and liberty,” Obama plans to prevent any more Ansel Adams by forcing photographers to get permits to be allowed to photograph our parks.
The stunning black and white photos Adams took of the American west, especially Yosemite National Park, are the very ideal of natural beauty preserved by the snap of his lens. Adams roamed freely in this land of the free and captured images that have been beloved by naturalists all around the world.
But now Obama is planning to put a stranglehold on new Ansel Adams by controlling who is *allowed* to take photos in our national parks with a new “permit” system. Worse, Obama plans to charge up to $1,500 for these permits according to a report by the Associated Press.

PBS and documentary maker Ken Burns have done it again with a wonderful look at the political lives of Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt. But if the series did anything it revealed to a discerning viewer how Franklin rebuilt the presidency on a pillar of hate and lies and remade the Democrat Party into a party driven by purposeful misdirection and deceit.
Certainly the series approaches these two consequential presidents as good for the country. Neither were as salubrious for the country as popular opinion holds and both did a lot of damage. To Burns’ credit he does allow conservative commentator George Will to slip in a few digs at how both Teddy and Franklin tore down the presidency and turned our country from a constitutional republic built on a pretty straightforward explication of the political raison d’être of any particular party, candidate or era and into a nation run by sneaky politicians who lie straight-faced to the people and don’t care about the Constitution at all.
Teddy Roosevelt did his bit to end our Constitutional republic, granted, and was followed by Woodrow Wilson who pounded a few more nails into that coffin. But it was Franklin Delano Roosevelt who really destroyed the country.
The truth is, Franklin was an utterly failed president in everything but his leadership in WWII. It has to be acknowledged that his stewardship of the war was great and maybe a lesser president would have left the US more vulnerable. But there is no doubt that he materially hurt this country in every other arena.
His domestic policy was a disaster, his economic policies utterly failed, and his disregard of the rule of law and the US Constitution was a disgusting display of arrogance and hubris. By forcing the world into war, Hitler ended the Great depression, not Franklin Roosevelt.

On Tuesday, Obama administration officials testified that local police who received surplus military equipment from a government program were never supposed to use that equipment for riot control and if the items were misused, cities may be forced to repay millions in grants given them by the government to purchase the equipment.
The testimony was delivered before Congress by members of the Defense and Homeland Security departments on Tuesday afternoon in a hearing that was spurred by shocking images from Ferguson, Missouri where police used a variety of military-styled equipment to quell rioting last month. Local police obtained some of that surplus military equipment through the Pentagon’s 1033 Program.
During the hearing Senators pointed out that many departments have been given equipment that they really have no legitimate need for. During the hearing it was revealed that one small Oklahoma county sheriff’s department for instance, received two 18-ton MRAP armored vehicles even though the department has only one full-time peace officer.
Several Senators questioned just why local police need military equipment at all. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul noted that 12,000 bayonets have been given out to local police and he wondered why a weapon of war like that, one used solely for killing and not peacekeeping, needed to be placed in the hands of a police department.

The most recent national restaurant chain to demand that customers refrain from carrying their legal firearms into their establishments is Panera Bread, a restaurant with 1,818 locations in 45 states. But is Panera ready to take responsibility for the murders its policy might cause?
The stores known for bread baked fresh daily and gourmet sandwiches has bowed to the liberal, anti-gun group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America after it had “months of discussion” with the chain.
In a statement Monday the chain claimed that it was only trying to make all customers “feel comfortable and welcome.”
“To this end, we ask that guns not be brought into this environment unless carried by an authorized law enforcement officer,” the statement read. “Panera respects the rights of gun owners, but asks our customers to help preserve the environment we are working to create for our guests and associates.”
In an interview with CNBC, Panera CEO Ron Shaich insisted, “we recognize everyone’s rights, but we also recognize that we are building communities in our cafes and are where people come to catch a breath.”
While Shaich said he is “respectfully requesting” that holders of legal concealed carry permits refrain from carrying inside his stores, he also claimed he would still follow all state and local laws on the matter.

A new report released last week revealed the alarming statistic that nearly one in ten workers in California is an illegal immigrant.
The report released by researchers at USC found that nearly ten percent of the Golden State’s workforce is made up of illegal aliens. It was also estimated that at least 2.6 million illegals live in the state. This number is likely far higher, though.
As the LA Times reports, illegals have taken 38 percent of jobs in agriculture, 14 percent in construction, and half have been in the US for at least 10 years.
Pro-amnesty activists point to the study as proof that these illegals “contribute” to the state.

Obama’s Illinois perennially ranks at the very bottom of every statistic that marks a successful state and a new report on America’s “sinkhole states” finds that Illinois again ranks at the very bottom this time for how much state debt each citizen is saddled with.
The statistics gathered by the excellent Chicago-based budget watchdog group Truth In Accounting calculated how much state debt–obligations like pensions, healthcare plans for retirees, etc–each citizen would have to pay to retire the debt in a lump sum.
The group has dubbed the worst states as “America’s Sinkhole States.”
Truth In Accounting found that Connecticut is the worst state in the union with each citizens owing 48 thousand dollars per citizen to retire the debt. But coming in a close second is the state of Illinois with a whopping 43 thousand dollars per citizen in debt.

The accusation BK is facing from America’s capitalism-hating lefties is that by taking over Tim Hortons and moving its HQ to Canada, BK is skipping out on its patriotic duty to pay the American corporate tax rate–which happens to be the highest tax rate in the industrialized, western world.

A religion hating Tennessee High School teacher gave one of her students a suspension for daring to say “bless you” to a fellow student who sneezed even after the teacher banned the use of “God talk” in her classroom.
For most Americans saying “bless you” after someone sneezes is an automatic reaction. It is rarely connected with religion and is generally just a social custom. But a teacher from Dyer County High School in west Tennessee so hates the phrase that she banned its use in her classroom.
The thus far unnamed teacher put a list of banned words on a white board in the classroom. “Bless you” was on the list.

In the bad old days when Kings reigned and the various classes of royalty vied for position the only danger for the “ruling class” was the fear that another member of their class might strike a blow against them. Unlike the lower classes, the rulers of antiquity were immune from the vagaries of life and out of reach of the law. In fact, there was no law. Unfortunately, we are headed right back in that scheme of life.
But one of the societal schemes that the founders of our country set about the task of destroying was that of the divine right of kings, the idea that royalty is subject to no earthly authority.
The founders wanted to create a society that allowed for social mobility among all citizens. They wanted a meritocracy where people could get ahead from the result of their own work and abilities. Above all they wanted a stable rule of law so that such stability could fuel growth.
For nearly 200 years their model worked admirably. But thanks to the drive toward communism starting at the end of the 1800s it appears that the founders’ societal invention has been destroyed.
The question for today is this: are we are living at the end of the American way of life? Has it been destroyed so badly that it is unable to be returned with the mere election of new leaders?

The left claims that voter ID laws are the second coming of racist Jim Crow laws. They say it is onerous for people to have to get a valid photo ID in order to vote. They say having to get a photo ID is somehow “just like” the expensive poll taxes forced on blacks between the end of the Civil War and the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
But, since photo IDs can be gotten for less than $10–and in many cases, free of charge–in every state in the union, this claim of left-wing liars is hard to make Americans believe. And the polls show it.

Meanwhile they are letting Illegals run across the border free as you please !

In the pages of The New York Times columnist Timothy Egan unleashed an attack on religion that was at once wholly uninformed about both religion and American history yet entirely typical of how uninformed liberals typically are about both religion and history. Egan’s anti-religious rant was also quite hysterical by saying that there is little difference between business owners who don’t want to pay for abortion drugs and radical Islamic terrorists, another opinion increasingly gaining cachet on the left.
Egan began his screed seemingly assigning acts of evil–or at least acts of bias–to God himself. Then he somehow made the World Cup into a religious battle between Popes, found room to slam Texas Governor Rick Perry, and concluded that “God is on a rampage” in 2014.
Now, let us first understand that God is in no way associated with the evil man does in his name. Egan’s claim that God is at fault is a childish exercise that is akin to blaming J. D. Salinger for the murder of John Lennon because shooter Mark David Chapman was a reader.

Chicago, Illinois is losing at least 3 to 4 citizens every weekend to violence with upwards to 25 shot. EVERY weekend. Chicago pols, the city’s police superintendent, and state Democrats say we need to ban guns to “fix” the problem. But the Detroit Chief of Police says an armed citizenry is making HIS city safer. Chicago could learn a lesson, here.
According to the Detroit News, Chief James Craig credited the fall in crime in the Motor City to the fact that more citizens are armed these days.
Detroit has experienced 37 percent fewer robberies in 2014 than during the same period last year, 22 percent fewer break-ins of businesses and homes, and 30 percent fewer carjackings. Craig attributed the drop to better police work and criminals being reluctant to prey on citizens who may be carrying guns.
“Criminals are getting the message that good Detroiters are armed and will use that weapon,” said Craig, who has repeatedly said he believes armed citizens deter crime. “I don’t want to take away from the good work our investigators are doing, but I think part of the drop in crime, and robberies in particular, is because criminals are thinking twice that citizens could be armed.”

Suckerberg and all his little left-wing tech buddies gathered tens of millions of dollars to push amnesty but, as Politico termed it, they “hit a brick wall.”
The news site also noted that several of Suckerberg’s high profile lefties have abandoned the project to undermine our national sovereignty not because it has thus far failed, but because of the bipartisan way Sucker and his group attempted to push the plan.

I assure you that this wouldn’t be his interpretation of the under girding of the essay he disgorged at Politico last week, but that is exactly what he is advocating nonetheless because his entire recipe for fixing our political culture is built on a religious-like belief in shadowy crises that he feels are besetting the country.
In fact, even as he pretended to be offering a “fix” for our political gridlock, he offered no proof whatsoever that the problems he thinks we face are based in fact. His entire piece was based on bald-faced assumption, all are forces taken as a given with not a single word to actually prove that his perceptions were real problems, the sort we should engage in “real” conflict to resolve.
Sadly, the essential lie-stiffened backbone upon which he hung the skeleton of his argument is what passes for “deep thought” at our fetid universities these days.

As CNSNews.com reports, for the first time ever disability recipients increased from “10,996,447 in April to a record 11,004,507 in May, according to new data released by the Social Security Administration.”
“The number of Americans receiving disability benefits continues to exceed the populations of Greece, Tunisia and Portugal and is drawing closer to Cuba, whose population of 11,047,251 (as reported by the CIA) is just 42,744 more than the 11,004,507 Americans receiving disability benefits.”
Obama’s goal is to destroy this country. There is no other possible explanation for this. None.
