Uppity, Feminist Journalist Meets Muslims, Gets Arrested, Hilarity Ensues

-By Warner Todd Huston

A left-wing, uppity, feminist, English journalist, a woman quixotically named Cinnamon Heathclote-Drury , got her world turned upside down over the last few months and her own liberalism is what did her in. One has to feel for her, of course, if only a little bit. But still laughter is far quicker to hit you before sympathy comes.

So, imagine the scene. A loud-mouthed, British, feminist journalist sees a woman in a hijab loading a large number of groceries onto the store conveyor belt at check out. She begins fuming with feminist ire because this Muslim woman’s husband stands idly by doing nothing to help the overworked woman load the groceries.

Femi-journo can take it no more and just has to say something. She brusquely confronts the man telling him that his wife needs to help loading the merchandise. She pushes past the man and starts helping the hijab-clad woman herself because, “This is what feminism’s about – women helping women.”

As it happened, neither the Muslim man nor his wife much appreciated the “social lesson” the uppity journalist thought to teach them. And, as so many Muslims in Britain do, they proceeded to play the Brit’s liberalism against them. The couple cried racism and had the journalist arrested for a “hate crime.”

This is so funny on so many levels.

Dept. of Homeland Sec. Again Calls Patriotic Americans ‘Potential Terrorists’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Are you a patriotic American that thinks that our American way of life is in danger? Are you a Tea Partier? If so, Obama’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wants you to know that you might be a terrorist. Or, at least, the DHS wants to characterize you as a potential terrorist, anyway.

Once again the DHS is warning that believing in American exceptionalism or hailing from the right side of American politics is a dangerous thing, just as they did in 2009. It might be recalled that in 2009 the DHS released a report that said our veterans or anyone that held a conservative viewpoint should be eyed suspiciously by government as a potential domestic terrorist.

This new report, titled Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008, has a different way of defining the exact same position as the 2009 report that brought so much embarrassment to Obama’s administration. Apparently police should be suspicious of anyone that feels their way of life is endangered, anyone that is religious, and anyone that might be interested in “personal liberty,” or “national sovereignty,” or firearms.

That’s a pretty wide net, isn’t it?

Muslim Indiana Congressman: US Schools Should Use Koran as ‘Foundation’ Like Madrassas Do

-By Warner Todd Huston

Democrat Congressman Andre Carson of Indiana has a new plan for America’s schools. They should be retooled using the Islamic Madrassa as a model and their “foundation” should be the Muslim holy book the Koran.

Rep. Carson made these suggestions at the annual convention of the Islamic Circle of North America held in Hartford, Connecticut on May 26. This year’s convention theme seems to have been “Our Family, Our Home & Our Destiny” and Carson took this concept to heart in his plan to remake American schools into a nation of Madrassas.

Can anyone imagine the outcry from the left and the Old Media both if a Republican Congressman had made the suggestion that our grade schools and high schools should be remade into Bible-pushing centers?

Does ‘Separation of Church and State’ Really Exist?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Note: I wrote this in 2008, but it is so far back in the archives that it isn’t properly showing in searches, so I am updating it.

Secularists today have a catch phrase that they use like a club against religion in America. That club is named “the separation of church and state.”

So many Americans have heard the phrase that they think it is one actually written right into the Constitution of the United States itself. Those who are more learned on the subject realize it is not. Those who are learned on the subject also know that it wasn’t mentioned in any law, or even in the halls of Congress, until long after the Constitution was written. In fact, there was not much attention paid to the phrase at all until after Thomas Jefferson, the originator of the phrase, was long dead.

Not even the Supreme Court paid it much attention until the 1940s. So this “wall of separation” issue is not one that hails from the early Republic with the same meaning as it does today. Our Founders had very different ideas about religion and government, ideas that were not nearly as simple as the stark black or white assumptions of the activists of today.

The Danbury Letter

The man who initially conjured the “wall of separation” phrase, President Thomas Jefferson (1800-1808), wrote it in an 1802 letter to a congregation of Baptist churchmen from Danbury, Connecticut. Only elected president of the United States but two years previously, Jefferson was responding to a letter sent him by the Danbury church members who were attempting to get his support for their struggle against the state’s somewhat oppressive religious requirements for certain rights — not an unusual practice in the states at that time. While Jefferson’s letter only obliquely addressed the Baptist’s concerns, more importantly it addressed the Federal position on establishing a national religion. Jefferson’s reply, in reality, was focused on the Federal issue, not that of the states.

Muslims in Michigan Attack Christians With Bottles, Stones — Cops Turn Blind Eye

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is one of the most disgusting and alarming videos made in America I’ve seen in quite some time. In it you will see scores of teenaged Muslims surrounding a small group of less than a dozen Christians in Dearborn, Michigan. You will see these Muslim thugs taunting the Christians, cursing them, throwing bottles, and even chunks of concrete at them. One scumbag, punk even throws a plastic milk carton at the Christians.

You will also see Dearborn police ignoring these crimes. Why? Because Dearborn police don’t care about enforcing the law. They care about placating their Muslim citizens. It is easier for Dearborn cops to allow these Muslims to attack Christians and then to blame it all on the Christians than to uphold the law much less the U.S. Constitution.

This is truly disgusting…

Why are these Muslim creeps doing this? Because these few Christians wanted to stage a little march sporting their banners and touting their cause. And what could be more American than wanting to have a little march, protest or otherwise?

New Film: Jesus Christ Not Divine, Born of Roman Rapist

-By Warner Todd Huston

So much for Hollywood’s days of the sweeping Biblical epic, I suppose, but a film director and author of a controversial book on Jesus Christ has announced he’s found the financial backing to produce a film on the Christian Messiah that will contend that Jesus was just a good politician, one born after his mother was raped by a Roman soldier, but a man most certainly not the Son of God.

Director Paul Verhoeven, most famous for having brought movie goers the 1987 film Robocop, is looking to begin filming his newest flick based on his own book, Jesus Of Nazareth.

Verhoeven’s 2008 book dismisses the Bible’s chronicling of miracles performed by Jesus Christ not to mention asserting that Jesus’ birth was less than immaculate and indeed was the result of Mary being raped by a Roman Centurion. Verhoeven also claims to debunk the fact that Judas Iscariot — one of the Twelve Disciples — betrayed Jesus to Roman authorities just previous to the crucifixion.

In 2008 Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League, called Verhoeven’s book “laughable.”

Obama’s ‘Bullying Czar,’ A Hater Extraordinaire

-By Warner Todd Huston

The man’s name is Dan Savage and he’s supposed to be leading President Obama’s anti-bullying, pro-tolerance effort. Yet, at an April High School rally in California from the podium, Savage, a homosexual, started calling Christians “pansies” and “morons,” and said the Bible was “bullshit.” Savage also said the Bible pushes a pro-slavery message.

So much for tolerance and being against bullying!

But, make no mistake about it, folks. This is the sort of hate and lies that liberalism is based on. They love to pretend they are the tolerant ones, but their ideology is always the first to start the re-education camps and firing squads when you disagree with them — just ask the Kulaks, the Jews, and those that disagreed with Pol Pot and the bloody Red Chinese.

Dan Savage would love to kill as many of you that disagree with him as he could. He is a typical liberal.

We cannot escape the conclusion that President Obama is on the same page as this cretin, too. After all, Obama has not fired this man as his “bullying czar.” Obama continues to support him to the fullest extent. Proof once again that Barack Obama is the most extreme, far left president in American history.

CPAC Chicago, Part 4: Joe Walsh, Randy Hultgren, Straw Poll Results

-By Warner Todd Huston

Finally, in part four we’ll hear from two solid Illinois Congressmen, the 8th District’s Joe Walsh and Randy Hultgren of the 14th. We’ll also hear the, perhaps not startling results of the straw poll, the most important question from which was who Romney should pick for his vice presidential candidate (hint, the top picks weren’t any of his one-time rivals for the nomination).

Congressman Joe Walsh

Rep. Joe Walsh gins up the crowd

Joe Walsh of the Illinois 8th District is the one Congressman that the left wants to eliminate more than any other Republican Congressman. This is because Joe has carved out from among his fellows an outsized voice for conservatism. He appears regularly on TV and radio to tout the conservative message. But he’s become a major target of Democrat redistricting and now faces a tough challenge to be reelected in his newly reconfigured 8th District. Me, I think he can easily beat the know-nothing candidate the Democrats have put up against him, but Joe is taking nothing for granted.

One thing is sure, though, Joe Walsh knows how to get a conservative audience in motion.

CPAC Chicago, Part 3: Bobby Jindal, Peter Roskam, Michele Bachman

-By Warner Todd Huston

In part three of our series we’ll take a look at the speeches of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Illinois Congressman Peter Roskam, and Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota. Bachmann’s speech was quite interesting for its singular focus on a particular jihad-supporting Muslim group that is operating in America today. Bachmann was vehement that Obama ban this group.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal

Gov. Bobby Jindal on the main stage

Jindal is another favorite of the greater conservative movement. He has a very compelling story of immigrant parents that came to America to become part of this great nation to finally see their little son become the most powerful man in their adopted state. It’s the perfect American story, for sure.

Speaking of stories, Jindal has a lot of them especially where it concerns his involvement in the BP Oil spill from 2010. I’ve seen Jindal relate this tale several times and it is always a good one. His description of how the federal government was more interested in observing its silly OSHA than deal quickly with the emergency before them was telling and hilarious — though ultimately sad and infuriating. Since this is standard stump speech stuff of Jindal’s, though, I did not Tweet that segment.

Like the others Jindal started praising the Walker win in Wisconsin. One of his funniest lines was that all the news people were proclaiming that the vote would be so close that it would be a long night for Wisconsin as they tallied the votes. But reality proved that the whole thing was over in a matter of hours with Walker’s landslide. Instead of it being a long night for Wisconsin, Jindal joked that it was instead a “long night at Obama headquarters in Chicago!”

CPAC Chicago, Part 2: Richard Mourdock, Chris Christie, Herman Cain

-By Warner Todd Huston

In part two of my coverage of CPACs first Midwestern conference event, we will see some of the high spots of the floor speeches of Indiana Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie – always a crowd favorite – and the redoubtable Herman Cain. Cain also visited the media room and I have video of that below the fold.

Indiana Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock

Richard Mourdock is the current Indiana State treasurer but he also just defeated long-time incumbent Senator Richard Lugar for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate from Indiana. He’ll face the Democrat come November. Mourdock has been widely touted as the insurgent Tea Party candidate that beat Lugar, the old line, establishment man.

“No one expected a lowly state treasurer could take out a 36-year Senator! But we DID,” Mourdock said triumphantly.

Mourdock also noted that Senator Chuck Schumer of New York has called him the “Hoosier headache.” Mourdock was rather proud of that appellation.

CPAC Chicago, Wisconsin Praised, Obama Razed — Part One: Rick Santorum, Ron Johnson

-By Warner Todd Huston

Well, Friday evening, June 8, 2012, we marked the end of the first CPAC event held in Chicago and what a great event it was. The triumph in Wisconsin was on everyone’s mind but so was Obama’s dismal record. Not just dismal, but according to several speakers, even dangerous. The economy and the election of Romney were focal points but so was foreign policy this day. One theme, though, was constant: Obama has to go.

Because of other things going on and the several press availability sessions, I didn’t catch every speaker in the main hall, but I did hear the speeches of (in this order) former Senator Rick Santorum, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, Indiana Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Illinois Representative Peter Roskam, Minnesota Representative Michelle Bachmann, and Illinois Representatives Joe Walsh and Randy Hultgren. I also heard and recorded the press availability sessions of Herman Caine, Peter Roskam, and Michelle Bachmann and I caught most of Kansas Representative Tim Huelskamp’s.

Other notables whose speeches I missed were Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Heritage Foundation President Ed Feulner, and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.

The event was a great success with well over 2,000 participants, all seats filled for the most part during the speeches and some great groups like the United Republican Fund, the Illinois Policy Institute, the Heartland Institute, Champion News, and others hosting and participating.

I’ll say a few words about the speakers I did see in the order I saw them and I’ll do this in a few installments so that this won’t be one long, overly taxing post. Now, as each of these speakers appeared before us I live Tweeted their comments, so the following quotes are pulled from my Twitter feed.

But before I do that, each speaker was quite enthusiastic over the win of Governor Scott Walker who defeated an effort by the far left and their union overlords to recall him in Wisconsin. Each speaker praised Walker and crowed about the left’s loss in there. I won’t regurgitate the Wisconsin hunk of each speaker as they were pretty much all the same; exuberant. The essential point was that we are all cheeseheads now.

Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum on the main stage

Former Pennsylvania Senator and recent GOP Presidential candidate Rick Santorum gave one of his well-crafted, typically workman-like speeches. One of Santorum’s early points was that America is at a “tipping point” and we’d better be there to tip it in the right direction.

Friends at Liberty University: Dump Driscoll!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

My friends at Liberty University made a major mistake when they had Mark Driscoll at their school. Mark is a very successful pastor and author, and is known as “the cussing preacher.” Ministers should be known for wisdom, knowledge, godliness, kindness, fairness, generosity not cursing, carnality, and crassness! I hope Liberty officials realize their mistake and will drop Driscoll from their list of speakers.

Driscoll preaches many truths that I hold dear and no doubt he is a very effective communicator; however, to purposefully use profanity to “pump up” his sermons and to appeal to youth is really bizarre as well as sinful. If I had sat on his ordination counsel, I would demand he return his ministerial credentials. He should be selling insurance or used cars not corrupting his immature audience.

Many Southern Baptist Churches (where 30% of pastors do not have a biblical worldview!) have engaged Driscoll to preach for them. At the Axxess Church in Arlington, Texas he was told that swearing might fly in Seattle but not in Texas. Rather than take the suggestion (warning) Driscoll used the F word in his first statement! He later apologized.

What’s News: Catholics Suing the Feds or the Latest Idol?

A Blogger at NATO 2012, What I Saw on Day One

-By Warner Todd Huston

I was awarded press credentials for NATO’s 2012 Summit in Chicago and, having no idea what to expect, what I found on day one was a study in contrasts. What occurred was sometimes amusing, often mundane, and sometimes even violent. But it was all democracy in action.

Early on the morning of day one, Sunday, May 20, I boarded a western Metra train under threat of having my equipment bags confiscated or at least me prevented from boarding the train with them. I was not ruffed up the “the man,” though and downtown I went riding high on the rails. Literally. I took a seat on the top tier of the train.

The Summit didn’t start well as the NATO advance video called Chicago the Illinois Capital (It isn’t) and the place where Obama grew up (Again, it isn’t).

Upon reaching the gathering point for the press in beautiful downtown Chicago I boarded the super, double, secret press shuttle bus that took us down the service streets, steering well clear of the surface roads, straight to Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center, site of the NATO Summit.

Of course, before I was allowed on the super, double, secret press bus, bomb-sniffing dogs were loosed to make sure I had no underwear-bomb on my person or in my equipment bags. After I was officially cleared, I boarded the bus with local Chicago TV newsreader Jay Levine.

Everywhere I went there were knots of security personnel. A LOT of security personnel. The last time I saw that many security people I was in Cancun, Mexico during the 2010 UN Climate Conference.

There were members of the FBI, Homeland Security, Chicago Police, the U.S. Marshals as well as U.S. Airmen and Army officers all there on duty to make sure our tender media people were safe and secure.

I was later to learn that out on the streets of Chicago the number of security of all sorts made the way to McCormick Place seem like it was lightly guarded!

Dan Savage Bombs while Bullying Christians and Bashing the Bible

-By Rev Michael Bresciani

Gay anti-bullying spokesperson, Dan Savage, belittled, berated and bullied Christians the Bible and the Pope while addressing 3,000 high school students at a school journalism convention in Seattle, organized by the National Scholastic Press Association. Savage, a militant high profile gay activist who writes graphic sex columns tried to humiliate the Christian kids but went away as a bully himself, in a bad show of self-indulgent hedonism. He is the head of the ‘It Gets Better Project,’ an activist group that is supposed to help gays make the transition out of the straight life into the wonderful brave new world of the gay life.

Apparently he sees himself as the guardian angel of those whose feelings may have been hurt or who are depressed because of the difficulties involved with the transition out of the world of the straights.

While most people discover who they are as they mature and find their place in society, the gays need special help to get into their little sphere and they also need special laws and alerts for the use of non-politically correct catch words and phrases that signal that they are being bullied.

Bob Beckel: Christians Don’t Talk That Way On or Off the Air!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Recently I was watching Hannity on Fox while speaking in Tucson and spending time with long-time friends. Bob Beckel, thinking the show was on a commercial break, used the F word. Hannity suggested that he apologize; however, he refused, saying incorrectly that they were not on the air. (As if that mattered!) The panel assured him that the vulgar word was heard by the nation-wide audience. Beckel humbly, although reluctantly, apologized. There is a difference in an apology, even a sincere one, and repentance.

Beckel then blamed Hannity for not steering the show correctly thereby relieving himself of blame! What he and almost all media personalities don’t understand is that the word should never be used. Christians should never use the word and should confess it as sin if they do. A lame apology will not do. Beckel claims to be a Christian but only he and God know for sure. The fact is: he used a foul, wicked word that is used by uncouth, unthinking, uncaring, uneducated people.

Even non-Christians should not use that and other vulgar words. A few years ago, even the most rude, crude, and lewd men did not use such words in decent company especially in the presence of women. Now, even women are using the term. Yes, the times, they are a-changin’! For the worst.

Government Hugging of Churches Results in Crushing!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

When Diocletian came to the throne, the Roman Empire was gasping for breath. Inflation was rampant, so like most incompetent politicians, he instituted wage and price controls that have never worked! Of course, shortages immediately resulted. As the economy began to collapse, Diocletian persecuted the Christians, trying to divert the peoples’ attention from the sick and dying economy. Then, in 305, he abdicated, the first emperor to do so.

In 312, Constantine became the emperor, and he soon made Christianity a lawful religion. I am convinced that he was a hypocrite, and was one of the worse things that happened to the Christians.

Yes, things started going better for the suffering Christians, but from our present perspective, Constantine was not a blessing but a curse. The Christians settled down and relaxed, and began to prosper. They built church buildings (the first in the Third Century), and began to amass silver and gold. Slowly, a state church began to take shape in Rome, and by 381, Theodosius I made Christianity the official state religion.

The First Lady’s Curious Theology

-By Rev Michael Bresciani‏

In America We Elect presidents, we don’t worship them. But the Weekly Standard blog offered a headline on April 17, 2012 that could be filed under ‘seeing it is still too hard to believe.’

In a short piece by Daniel Halper the headline was “Michelle Obama: ‘This President Has Brought Us Out of the Dark and Into the Light’ If it were not a direct quote taken from Michelle Obama’s rally speech at a campaign event in Nashville, Tennessee earlier the same day, we could only imagine that some virulent anti-Obama politico went too far and just made up a false and despiteful headline to hurt the Obama campaign. But the headline is quite true.

Here is what is apparent. The Weekly Standard is no religious website and Daniel Harper is no dialectical theological giant like Karl Barth or a great expositor of the scriptures like Charles Haddon Spurgeon, but it is also apparent that he wasn’t trying to be.

America Unplugged – The New Lord’s Prayer

-By Rev Michael Bresciani

Those who can hardly stand the syntax and rhythmic schemes of the English usage in our Constitution will not find any magnificence or beauty in the Elizabethan phrases of the Bible’s King James Version. Not to worry – other versions are readily available to elucidate and amplify; there is hope for those whose cognizance has been slighted.

King James says “O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing?” (Ps 4: 2) The hurried generation doesn’t employ, nor is familiar with terms like ‘leasing.’ Visions of new car leases or Fifth Avenue apartments that rent for five million dollars or more, per year, are not the subject spoken to in the King’s most regal version of writ.

Let’s use a simpler version, broken down for the hurried minds and the erudite of the day. Here is a chance for those fully endowed with acquired knowledge, but who remain unable to engage the ancient, revered yet fully preserved mechanism by which to use knowledge correctly; commonly referred to as wisdom.

Memory Hole: Vogue Scrubs Syrian Fawning Article of Syrian Dictator’s Wife

-By Warner Todd Huston

Look nuthin’ up my sleeve, presto! In a typical exercise of Old Media “ethics,” with the flip of the proverbial switch, Vogue erased from the Internet tubes its embarrassing puff piece on the wife of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

In 2011, to much international derision, Vogue published The Rose of the Desert, a puff piece on Asma al-Assad, the wife of the dictator. Unfortunately for Vogue, almost immediately after the piece was published that February, the whole Assad facade began to crumble in a most precipitous way as the revolts and unrest throughout the Middle East grew embroiling Syria along with so many others.

The fawning article of Syria’s first lady crowed about her designer clothing, her western roots, and her serious career in banking making Asma out to be a renaissance woman in the Middle East.

Vogue’s editors tried to defend their piece right after it was released saying the piece was “a way of opening a window into this world a little bit.” But Vogue senior editor Chris Knutsen did sheepishly admit to The Atlantic that Syria is “not as secular as we might like.”

Traitors: American Professors Go to Tehran to Help Mad Mullahs

-By Warner Todd Huston

A couple of so-called American professors recently went to Tehran University to help the radical, anti-American, racist, Islamists propagandize about how wonderful the Mad Mullahs think the Occupy Wall Street “movement” here in America is.

Wonderful, no?

Anti-Americans Alex Vitae, professor at Brooklyn College, Heather Gautney, professor at Fordham University, John Hammond, professor at City University of New York all appeared at the terrorist’s little convention to speak glowingly of the hate spewed by both the OWSers and the Mad Mullahs.

Will Believers Tip the 2012 Election?

-By Rev Michael Bresciani

Andy Andrews, the author of ‘How Do You Kill 11 Million People: Why the Truth Matters More Than You Think’ was a guest on the Mike Huckabee show recently. As expected Andrews was asked to explain the title of his book and to give a succinct summary of the answer to the question his title imposed.

Like many people Andrews spent years pondering the question of why and just how 11 million people would become so docile as to actually look complicit in the planning and execution of their own deaths. Why would so many line up to be hauled away by the Nazis in crowded boxcars, without putting up great resistance or a fight to save their own lives.

Andrews uses no deep philosophical construct to answer the question. He offers the simplest answer and under any level of reasonable scrutiny we suddenly know he has hit the nail squarely on the head. His answer in all of its glorious simplicity is, “They were lied to.”

Reaping the Rewards of a ‘Progressive’ America

-By Frank Salvato

As the nation directs its attention to the events taking place at the United States Supreme Court, specifically, the oral arguments surrounding the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, now may be a good time to evaluate some of the “progress” we have made, both as a country and as a culture, where the Progressive Movement’s efforts are concerned.

I say that now may be a good time for this evaluation because as the Justices of the Supreme Court debate the merits of the case before them, we stand on the precipice of the largest expansion in government authority since the institution of the income tax. And while both Republicans and Democrats; Conservatives and Liberals, have had a hand in the total of government expansion, no other group has celebrated that expansion over our liberties, over our freedoms, more than Progressives.

Now, I am not an overly religious man. As regular readers understand, my Mother would be very happy if I attended church more often. But even I can see that at the hand of the Progressive Movement the idea of secularism has become totalitarian. In a nation built, in part, as a sanctuary for the religious (this is the onus behind the First Amendment’s right to “Freedom of Religion”), people of the cloth are being placed under arrest for preaching on public grounds.

Should Christians Obey Official Thugs?

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Christian leaders, who should be the first to warn of any kind of danger to their followers, are too often more concerned with maintaining their reputations than in fulfilling their responsibilities. They are afraid of offending government by taking a strong stand; yet they do not seem to be concerned with offending God by their cowardice. Augustine of Hippo spoke to this issue when he said that “godless civil rulers are no more than bands of robbers,” yet many preachers have made the robbers equal with God or above His Word!

I have often been asked why major Christian leaders cannot see the harm they are doing in keeping silent about Christian resistance, and the answer is not easy. Many religious leaders have refused to look at the issue, while others have looked and have been scared to death! The fearful group will often preach about taking a strong stand for principle as long as they don’t have to take that stand! They live in cold fear deep in the valley of compromise.

Then there are other religious leaders who tell us that they will resist only when they can no longer preach the tenets of their faith. (With most of these men, I believe it is the cop-out of the ages.) Frankly, many preachers have not been known to admit their failures very quickly!

‘We the People’ Decide Who is Electable – Not the Media

-By Rev Michael Bresciani

The term ‘electability’ has become a catch word in this primary but under scrutiny it is easy to see that it is misused sometimes and generally over used at all times. With Gingrich falling to single digit results in the recent primaries and perennial candidate Ron Paul hanging on by a thread in most states it is apparent that voters don’t care what the newsmen and commentators have to say – they plan to vote the way they want to. Isn’t that the way it is supposed to be?

In a climate where after three years of a president whose particular religious beliefs are still in question, the desire to know a candidates real beliefs has never been greater. Recent polls determined that 53 percent of Rick Santorum’s supporters believe that religious beliefs should temper a leader’s decision making process, as opposed to only 28 percent of Romney’s followers.

There is no system of checks and balances to determine a candidates religious leanings and how they might affect his decision making, but there is plenty of information about each candidate’s particular religion.

Is Christian Resistance Ever Right?

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Bible Christians (as opposed to churchy “Christians”) have always known that they must obey God in all things. The Bible has precedence over all authority! However, most Christians have never considered the possibility of disobeying authorities when those authorities become oppressive. We have been taught that if it is law, it is right and should be obeyed; however, that is simply not true as proved with many Bible examples.

Frederic Bastiat, the French authority on law, wrote, “There is in all of us a strong disposition to believe that anything lawful is also proper. This belief is so widespread that many persons have erroneously held that things are just because the law makes them so.” But laws cannot make something just. It can make anything legal (abortion, homosexuality, etc.) but not just.

I am not obligated to resist every unjust law nor every unconstitutional law, but I am obligated to resist any law that conflicts with Bible principles such as a license to preach. The 55 mile per hour speed limit was a ridiculous law, but it did not conflict with the Bible. We are told it saved lives, but if officials really want to save lives, they could enforce a 35 mile per hour limit! (If government really wants to save lives, they would do something about liquor and drug laws, but don’t hold your breath.)

Responsible Militancy Missing in Christian Leaders!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

If anyone is expected to be principled in their leadership, it is Christian leaders; however, most modern leaders, even Evangelical/Fundamental leaders seem to be limp-wristed, wimpy, self-seeking office holders. Yes, there are a few exceptions as expressed by a few hundred pastors who will not permit the IRS to influence what they preach to their flock. Those pastors made a vow to always teach, preach, and write the truth whatever the results. It seems they took their vows seriously. Most do not.

I am impressed with most Catholic leaders who contend that this administration will never succeed in making them change their church doctrine and convictions to submit to government authority. We will see if they mean “never.” Will Catholics really close churches, colleges, and hospitals in obedience to principle or become pragmatic and give in “just once.”

Most preachers, even in my Evangelical/Fundamentalist crowd, have had their spines removed upon graduation from seminary or at their ordination. They often seem to line up with such “loosey-goosey” evangelical leaders as Jim Wallis, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, and the Christianity Today crowd. They are more interested in appearing to be gentlemen than in being obedient to God. They appear to be more interested in not offending the “wolf” (whom they are supposed to protect against) than in protecting the sheep.

Mayor Emanuel Puts Himself in GOP Primary Race, Joins ‘Republican War on Women’ Lie

-By Warner Todd Huston

Mayor Emanuel has not left Barack Obama. This is clear with his latest foray into national political issues by joining Obama’s orchestrated “Republican war on women” lie that has been drummed up to take America’s attention away from Obama’s monumental failures as president. To help his old boss, Emanuel decided to pipe up about Rush Limbaugh’s slut-gate comments, absurdly attempting to lay the controversy at Mitt Romney’s feet.

You’ll recall the White House-orchestrated contraceptives campaign led by 30-year-old Sandra Fluke, a long time left-wing activist, that prompted Limbaugh to call the gay-rights activist a “slut” for wanting the American people to pay for her thousands of dollars a year in sex aides. Consequently Emanuel decided to add his voice to the fake “war on women” meme.

Here is what he said about the issue:
