Sen. Dillard Criticized for Taking Teachers Union Endorsement

-By Warner Todd Huston

This morning, Senator Kirk Dillard was “especially proud” to accept the endorsement of the Illinois Education Association (IEA) for the GOP nomination for Illinois Governor.

According to IEA president Cinda Klickna Dillard has shown that he values the expertise and opinions of the IEA.

“Sen. Dillard supports our fight for adequate funding for public education and he stood up to tremendous pressure and voted against the unfair and unconstitutional pension bill, Senate Bill 1,” Klickna said during this morning’s press conference.

“Illinois needs a fighter who believes in public schools and that is why IEA is proud to recommend Senator Kirk Dillard for the Republican nomination for governor,” she added.

The IEA is the largest education union in the state with some 130,000 members.

Dillard focused his comments on “the teachers” and education in general, but steered clear of talking about the union itself or the political abuses perpetrated public employees unions in general.

Some Sparks At WLS GOP Governor Debate

-By Warner Todd Huston

The debate stage.

Tonight, February 10, WLS AM 89 talk radio, hosted a debate of what was supposed to be all four candidates vying for the GOP nomination for governor. Unfortunately, only three decided to accept the invitation to join the debate. Candidate Rauner decided not to speak to the six or seven hundred locals nor the WLS radio audience.

Snub: Bruce Rauner’s empty poduum.

In attendance were State Treasurer Dan Rutherford, and State Senators Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard. Not in attendance< was businessman Bruce Rauner. WLS talk show host Dan Proft moderated. I have to say, most of what what was said by the candidates was run of the mill stuff they've all said 100 times before--and for some over several losing campaigns for the same office. But a few sparks did fly, one over a new issue and another over an old.

Rutherford and Brady sharing a laugh before the debate.

Firstly, though the biggest disappointment of the night was that all three candidates denounced Illinois being a right to work state and all dismissed the idea that the union should be limited in the Land of Lincoln. But since most are taking big donations from the union, I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise.

But the fact is, every Republican should be an opponent of government employee unions.

Conservative Businessman Backs Dr. Julie Cosimo For Ill. 50th District

Dr. Julie Cosimo, one of the three candidates vying for the Illinois State House from the 50th District and it seems has found a big supporter in businessman Richard Uihlein.

According to state campaign finance reporting, Uline donated $5,300, the maximum amount that can be given by an individual.

Businessman Richard Uihlein was reported as one of the biggest tea party supporters in Illinois.

Ill. GOP Congressmen React to Obama’s SOTU Speech

-By Warner Todd Huston

Several Illinois Republican Congressmen released statements after President Obama’s State of the Union speech last night. Congressmen Roskam, Hultgren, and Kinzinger reacted to the speech, and so did the President of the Illinois chapter of Americans for Prosperity.

First of all, Obama straight out lied several times in his speech last night. His biggest lie was the claim that he once again trotted out saying women only make 77 cents to a man’s dollar in the job market. This is simply a lie, one the left trots out repeatedly despite it being wholly false.

Obama also misled when he touted how his constantly failing Obamacare law has signed up. His claimsContinue reading

Missouri’s Kit Bond Shows Why Politics Has No Soul

-By Warner Todd Huston

Missouri’s Kit Bond is a perfect example of why regular Americans hate, hate, hate politicians and politics. It’s because Bond and his ilk prove to many that politicians are nothing but money-grubbing liars.

Duane Lester of The Missouri Torch gives us the perfect example of this cynical example of the worst in politics with the story of Kit Bond’s 180 degree flip flop on expanding Medicaid made only because his new position as a lobbyist brings him boatloads of money.

Kit Bond was a Republican Senator from the State of Missouri and in 2010 he was 100 percent against expanding Medicaid in Missouri. He called the idea “horrific.”

[VIDEO] How The Democrats are Lying About Huckabee’s ‘Women’s Libido’ Comment

-By Warner Todd Huston

Mike Huckabee did not say a single thing that was outrageous during his remarks to an RNC winter meeting on January 23. But that won’t stop the Old Media complex from lying about his comments and desperately trying to spin his comments as some sort of attack on women. It was, in fact, just the opposite.

Left-wing spin artists that pretend to be journalists, like CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Dana Bash, immediately launched into an attack on Huckabee as if he was disparaging women or attacking their rights–because, you know, Republicans hate women, and all.

Bash most especially immediately lied about Huckabee’s comments, mischaracterizing them so badly that one would think she didn’t actually hear the comments and is only regurgitating the lies spread by extremists that she picked up on the Internet.

It’s bad enough that “reporter” Bash followed the left-wing attack machine’s lie-filled narrative but it’s worse because she was actually in the audience and heard Huckabee first hand.

This so-called reporter jumped to her Twitter account and wrote the following: “At Rnc meeting @MikeHuckabee just said fed govt shouldn’t help women w who can’t control their libido w birth control.”

Bruce Rauner Not So Against ‘Career Politicians’ as He Seems?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Doug Ibendhal over at RepublicanNewsWatch.com has a very interesting observation about Illinois GOP outsider Bruce Rauner’s claim that he stands against “career politicians.” Rauner is actually supporting one of the biggest career politicians in the country quite despite his posturing against that class of public servant.

Of course, we know that Rauner has spared no expense out of his large personal fortune to launch TV and radio ads saying that he is fighting both the profligate Democrats and the slothful career politicians that have enabled them on the GOP side. We’ve heard his ads all over the state, to be sure.

In fact, that’s about all anyone knows of the GOP race for governor thus far, Rauner is against career politicians and he’ll somehow magically institute term limits. The good people of Illinois have been inundated with Rauner’s ads to the point where he’s practically sucked all the oxygen out of the room for the other three Republican candidates.

There have been a few dents in Rauner’s domination over the last few weeks with his flip flop on cutting, then not cutting the minimum wage and his supposed pay-to-play donations to his daughter’s exclusive school so that she would get accepted as a student there.

Tolerant Hollywood Fires Actress Who Supported Conservative Candidate

-By Warner Todd Huston

Remember, liberals–especially effusive Hollywood folk–are smarter, more loving, more grown up that you knuckle dragging conservatives, and they care more about people, too. And if you don’t agree… they’ll fire you with prejudice. Because: tolerance. That is what happened to one actress in Hollywood that dared support a conservative candidate.

Longtime denizen of Hollywood, actress Maria Conchita Alonso, was fired from an acting job in California because she dared to appear in an ad for Republican candidate for governor Tim Donnelly.

Donnelly, a current California assemblyman, is now running for governor to replace the extremely left-wing Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, the octogenarian liberal who is driving some of the final nails into California’s coffin.

The South Rose Again While The North Napped

-By Warner Todd Huston

Northern elites love to look down their noses and sneer at southerners whom they consider loutish hayseeds who are just plain stupid. But as many in the north have dismissed the south, our states south of Mason and Dixon’s line has risen again right under the north’s very nose. Now, the best quality of life is in the south.

Recently Joel Kotkin noted that much of the economic power in the United States today is located in the old Confederacy where taxes are low, weather is pleasant, and jobs are plentiful. Meanwhile, the north is struggling under mounting debt, job loss, and rising taxes and a dwindling populace to tax.

In his article, “How The South Will Rise To Power Again,” Kotkin points out that current trends show that, “the South will expand its dominance as the nation’s most populous region. In the 1950s, the South, the Northeast and the Midwest each had about the same number of people. Today the region is almost as populous as the Northeast and the Midwest combined.”

Virginia Senator Wants to Make Oral Sex Between Teens a Felony

-By Warner Todd Huston

A Virginia State legislator is continuing to work on plans to pass a law to make oral sex between teenagers a felony.

Conservative state Senator Thomas Garrett has submitted a law that calls oral sex among teens a “crime against nature.”

Garrett’s law would make it illegal to have carnal knowledge of “any male or female person by the anus or by or with the mouth” who is of a certain age. The bill stipulates that his bill would not pertain to adults.

Proft Says No Connection Between PAC and Anti-Rauner Group as Rauner Takes Hits for Flip Flop

-By Warner Todd Huston

The good folks at Illinois Review recently reported that a large donation to Liberty Principles PAC–a group helmed by WLS talk show host Dan Proft–caused rumors to circulate that claimed that the $1.5 million donation was in response recent anti-Rauner ads being funded by a pro-union group and headed up by a one of GOP Congressman Arron Schock’s associates. Tonight, Proft is responding to the rumors.

Proft told IR that the donation by Dick Uihlein is earmarked only for state legislative races, not federal races, not the Governor’s office or other top spots. So, the donation is not intended to help get Rauner elected through efforts by Proft’s PAC.

As Proft told IR: “The investment represents Mr. Uihlein’s ongoing commitment to the economic liberty policy agenda and to Illinois state legislative candidates who share that commitment. Mr. Uihlein’s financial commitment is shared by a growing number of Liberty Principles PAC donors who understand the need for new political leadership in Springfield in order for Illinois to attract and retain businesses and grow jobs.”

Gov. Chris Christie a Bridge Too Far: ‘I Knew Nothing’

-By Warner Todd Huston

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is in a bit of a pickle this month over a scandal that Democrats claim he created. But conservatives are none too interested in coming to Christie’s support any time soon and he’ll have to address this all on his own. Has Chris Christie come to the end of his status as Republican hero?

Christie is under the gun for decisions by his close staffers to initiate a “traffic study” that snarled traffic on the George Washington Bridge in September of last year. Democrats say that Christie’s folks did this to inconvenience Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, a Democrat and Christie detractor.

Some might easily agree with the Democrats’ claim about the punitive nature of the traffic study, too, with a series of snarky emails from Christie’s people that made light of the discomfort of all the citizens that were inconvenienced on the road.

Obamacare Disaster Continues: Sen. Rand Paul’s Son Ends Up on Medicaid

-By Warner Todd Huston

The disaster that is Obamacare rolls ever onward. This time we have U.S. Senator Rand Paul who has been trying to get his own family signed up for Obamacare only to find that the state of Kentucky automatically assigned Paul’s own son to Medicaid even though the Senator was trying to arrange for an insurance policy he intends to pay for himself.

Senator Paul is no indigent character, here, and he has plenty of money to pay for healthcare insurance for his family. But as he attempted to sign up for insurance through his state-based Obamacare exchange, the state automatically signed his son up for Medicaid, the health service that is supposed to be reserved for the poor.

As Paul notes in the video clip above, the state of Kentucky is supposed to have one of the best services in the nation–a low bar, there–but if the state is shunting people who can pay for their insurance into Medicaid, that is another failure of the system that should not be happening.

MSNBC Ridicules Mitt Romney for Having a Black Grandson

-By Warner Todd Huston

Remember, leftists such as those on cable “news” network MSNBC, are more loving and tolerant than you jerky conservatives. So, that is why the talking heads on MSNBC thought it would be fun to ridicule Mitt Romney for having an adopted grandson who is black. Because: tolerance.

On Sunday, December 29, extremist, hate-filled liberal Melissa Harris-Perry tok a few minutes with her panel of ignoramuses to talk about the most recent family photo of Mitt and Ann Romney and all their grandchildren.

There on Mitt’s knee, Harris-Perry informed us, was a little black child and she and her panel exploded in an amazing round of thinly veiled hatred over the adoption.

“Everybody loves a baby picture,” Harris-Perry belched out, “and this was one that really, a lot of people had emotions about this baby picture this year. This is the Romney family. And, of course, there on Governor Romney’s knee is his adopted grandson, who is an African-American, adopted African-American child, Kieran Romney.”

Gay Kid in Louisiana Says ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Made Him Feel ‘Unsafe’

Here is the nonsense that the media creates with its untrue “reporting” of the “news.” A gay teen in Louisiana now claims that because of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, he has been made to feel “unsafe” living as a gay person in Louisiana.

This from a “closeted” gay student in West Monroe, Louisiana who wrote an essay saying how unsafe he feels because of what Robertson said about gays.

After an interview with Robertson went viral, the old media establishment went wild calling his comments “hate speech,” and “anti-gay” and ramping up pressure on the A&E cable network to fire him from his reality show. All this unfair reporting filled with lies impacted this student in a negative way–as one might expect.

VIDEO: A New Kirk Dillard Slam Making the Rounds

-By Warner Todd Huston

Thus far about the only GOP gubernatorial hopeful in the news has been Bruce Rauner (brucerauner.com). With his many promises to rewrite the whole Illinois Constitution to fix what ails us and his deep pockets he was early out of the chute. But this week a video slamming Kirk Dillard has also popped up showing that the race is just starting to warm up.

Of course Rauner, with all his millions of dollars, has hit the ground early with TV ads most of which slam current governor, Democrat Pat Quinn. Rauner is acting as if he is already the nominee, ignoring his competitors and going straight at Quinn and other lifer politicians.

Whatever you think of all Rauner’s many and varied promises, pretending he is the only one in the race is probably a good strategy. In any case, as things stand now, he is sucking up all the oxygen in the race.

But, wait. Today came a snide attack on Kirk Dillard (www.dillardtracy.com).

Obviously someone thinks he is a threat.

A video titled”Kirk Dillard Presents a Holiday Tribute to Jim Edgar,” came out that treats Dillard as s childish, star struck fan–and maybe a stooge–of former Governor and one-time Dillard boss Jim Edgar.

The video is chock full of images of Dillard gazing admiringly at Governor Edgar and is amusingly played to the rock tune I Touch Myself, by the 1990s Australian band the Divinyls.

The video was posted on a Youtube account under the name “Michael Martin” and ends with a message saying that the video was “brought to you by Kirk Dillard and your friends at MSI.”

For those of you who may have forgotten (as I had at first), MSI stands for Management Services of Illinois. The reference refers to a scandal from August of 2000 that linked aides of Edgar and then Senate President James “Pate” Philip to MSI, a company that was accused of bilking the state out of some $12 million dollars.

VIDEO: MSNBC Racist Gets Her Nonsense Slammed Right Back in Her Face

-By Warner Todd Huston

Republican consultant Ron Christie and Leftist goon Angela Rye.

MSNBC had another one of those now prosaic racebaiting panels on its second rate show hosted by blatant racist Melissa Harris-Perry where panelists sit around claiming everyone but they are racists. But this time another panelist slammed it right back in their face.

Angela Rye, the former Executive Director and General Counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus, amusingly insisted that the GOP is “racist.” Now, let’s remember what the Black Congressional Caucus is. It is a race-based (meaning racist) organization that famously refused to allow a white man to join. And this ignorant whelp has the gall to say that other people are racists?

Anyway, on the show this liar claimed that all Republicans are racists, that all tea partiers are racists, and also spouted the lie that white tea partiers spat upon Representative John Lewis in 2010 as he and several Democrats were walking into Congress.

After these lies, another panelist, Republican strategist Ron Christie–also an African American–rightfully blasted this lying racist for her calumnies.

Nancy Pelosi Again Pushes ‘Republicans Hate Women’ Lie

-By Warner Todd Huston

Former House Speaker (I love to say that) Nancy Pelosi had an interview recently with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner where Pelosi decided to let us all know that Republicans hate women. Yeah, she really has nothing new or truthful to say, granted.

In the interview Pelosi loaded up with a long series of lies.

“I have told people that the Republicans in Congress are against family planning,” she blabbered. “It’s not just about terminating a pregnancy iIt’s about disrespect for women in terms of their decision making to about the sizing or timing of their having a family.”

This is, of course, a straight out lie. Republicans couldn’t care less if women want or don’t want a family and have no interest in getting involved in how women plan their lives. Being against infanticide is does not equate to being against women’s freedom to lead their lives.

If Congress Tells You It Will Save $$ ‘Over Ten Years’ They Are Lying

-By Warner Todd Huston

Over the last few decades, Congressmen have fallen into this scheme of telling us all that their budget deals will “save money over a ten-year period.” Don’t fall for this. It is an outright lie.

No, I am not being hyperbolic, here. The claim that any budget deal will save any money at all over five or ten-year time spans is simply an outright lie and every congressman knows it. When you hear a Congressman, Republican or Democrat, tell you this, they simply aren’t telling the truth.

In fact, it isn’t really even built into the system for one Congress to pass a budget that holds ten future Congresses to its strictures. This is why the Constitution insists that a new budget be passed every year. One Congress can only budget for itself, not any future Congresses.

We have a perfect example of this with the very budget in the news today, the Ryan/Murray budget.

In 2011 Congress agreed to a budget scheme that contained discretionary spending limits. As Sean Davis recently reported, these limits were agreed to by over 70 percent of House Republicans and signed into law by President Obama.

But, wait. Now Ryan/Murray comes along and dispenses with all those limits and hikes spending without any mind at all to the “law” enacted in 2011.

How did this happen? Because any congressional budget agreement made in 2011 has no permanent restrictions on a Congress in 20123.

GOP House Speaker John Boehner Has Proclaimed Himself an Enemy to the Tea Party

-By Warner Todd Huston

Earlier this week, House Speaker John Boehner, the nominal Republican from Ohio, threw down the gauntlet and announced that he is working to defeat anything conservatives and tea party groups want to get done in Washington and the group Tea Party Patriots is ready to accept that challenge.

Leading the establishment charge to continue the growth of big government and defeat conservatism, Boehner attacked those looking to lower taxes, to shrink the size of government, and to defeat the liberal left. The group Tea Party Patriots slammed Boenher saying he “declared war on the Tea Party” with his “smug and pretentious rant.”

Boeher absurdly said that it is the conservative groups and tea partiers working to promulgate conservative principles who are lying to the people and “using using our members and … the American people for their own goals.”

Sarah Palin for Senate? ‘Read My Lipstick: No New Taxes’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Sarah Palin is quite unhappy with Rep, Paul Ryan’s “white flag” budget and reminds the Republican Party that they should be running on the slogan “read my lipstick: no new taxes!”

In a piece posted at Breitbart, Palin excoriates Ryan for his terrible budget bill and points out that no Republican wins office by raising taxes.

“No one can argue with the fact that Paul Ryan’s compromise budget bill raises taxes and increases spending. Show me one Republican who got elected on that platform,” Palin writes.

“We sent these politicians to Congress in an historic landslide election in 2010 with a mandate to stop the runaway spending train bankrupting our nation, not to wave to it from the station or – heaven forbid – increase its speed. And yet, here we are still pretending that there are no real world consequences to running up near trillion dollar deficits year after year with no end in sight.”

Georgia’s Establishment Republicans Want to Waste Millions on This, Local Tea Partiers in Strong Opposition

-By Warner Todd Huston

Local Tea Partiers Oppose This Giant, Secret Waste of Tax Dollars.

The GOP establishment in Cobb County, Georgia wants to spend upwards to $600 million in local tax dollars to help the Atlanta Braves move north of downtown Atlanta. They say it will bring new development and increased economic activity to the area. Tea Partiers, however, say this is a waste of tax dollars and it isn’t the government’s job to join in capitalist projects.

The establishment GOP says their argument is simple. As detailed by the AP, Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee and his supporters say that “almost $400 million in county bonds and immediate infrastructure improvements, with debt payments approaching $600 million over 30 years–will generate enough economic activity and, thus, tax revenue to justify the spending.”

Lee imagines that this huge outlay of tax money is a “home run” for his county. Local tea party leaders thoroughly disagree.

This is all “appalling hypocrisy” and “arrogance” on behalf of the county operatives, says Atlanta Tea Party Leader Debbie Dooley.

Supreme Court Will Hear Obamacare Forced Contraception/Anti-Religious Liberty Case

In a momentous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to review the Constitutionality of provisions in Obamacare that force religious institutions and companies owned by religious owners to fund contraception in their employee healthcare policies.

The Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States.

One of the cases against Obamacare was brought by the arts and crafts supply company Hobby lobby which is owned by the religious Green family. Their religious principals, the Greens say, forbid them from engaging in abortion or contraception but Obamacare forces them to pay for such things in their employee healthcare plans whether they want to or not.

This mandated coverage, the argument goes, is unconstitutional because it forces religious business owners and religions institutions to pay for things that go against their religious principals.

INFO GRAPHIC: None of Our Historic Assassins Have Been Conservatives or Tea Party Types…”

Obama, You’re No Abe Lincoln

Chuck Busch

This month, our country is remembering two famous Americans, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. On November 19, 1863, Abraham Lincoln delivered his short (about 3 minutes) but inspiring speech at the dedication of the soldier’s cemetery in Gettysburg. November 22 marks the date when an assassin’s bullet ended the life of President Kennedy in Dallas, Texas exactly 50 years ago. Our current president has often sought to align or identify himself with either president at one time or another hoping that by association, some of their popularity might transfer to him. President Obama has characteristically had a way of inserting himself into every subject of historical note as the government’s historical website can attest to. The account of American’s remarkable achievements have been recently updated to reflect the current administration’s “contributions” to this country’s progress.

Though there have been many occasions where Obama has put on the Kennedy mantle, his keen interest appears to be the Lincoln one. In fact, he used the Lincoln bible for swearing in his oath of office at his two inaugurations. Here’s indisputable proof that greatness cannot be acquired by osmosis. He might have as well sworn in on a Marvel comic book because since he entered office he has deliberately and flagrantly circumvented the sacred oath to protect and preserve the Constitution.

A brief comparison of the two men and their respective visions for America however reveals how implausible it would be to interpose one for the other. This was glaringly apparent recently when Obama declined an invitation to speak at the Gettysburg ceremonies, explaining that he simply was too busy to attend. In other words, he had more important things to deal with (like repairing the DemolitionCare PR damage), then to pay homage to a man who in just a few eloquent and poetic words captured the essence of our Constitutional Republic and inspired the country to persevere. Lincoln managed to make it in the midst of conducting a enormous nationwide military campaign and running the government with just a very few aids, no massive security detail, no four speech writers and no teleprompter which had not been invented as yet.

Did GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Say He Wanted to ‘Punch Tea Party Bullies in the Nose’?

Breitbart News has an explosive exclusive report about a recent conference call held by Karl Rove during which, Breitbart says, Senate GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R, KY) said that the tea partiers are “bullies” and he intends to “punch them in the nose.”

For Breitbart, Matthew Boyle writes that a strategy call was recently sponsored by Crossroads America, the GOP PAC headed up by anti-conservative and establishment guru Karl Rove, and on the call tea party activists and conservatives came in for harsh criticism by no less then leader McConnell himself.

Boyle writes that a participant on the call contacted him and said that McConnell attacked Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz by name. But what McConnell said at the end of the call was the most adversarial statement.
