Dr. Julie Cosimo, one of the three candidates vying for the Illinois State House from the 50th District and it seems has found a big supporter in businessman Richard Uihlein.
According to state campaign finance reporting, Uline donated $5,300, the maximum amount that can be given by an individual.
Businessman Richard Uihlein was reported as one of the biggest tea party supporters in Illinois.
“I’m a conservative Republican, and I’m trying to help people who believe as I do in limited government and free markets,” Uihlein, owner of Uline Shipping Supply Specialists, told Crain’s last September.
This is an important pint. Uihlein, one of the most conservative donors in the state has chosen to support Cosimo, that says that he thinks she is the most conservative candidate.
Cosimo is director of career development at Benedictine University in Lisle, and has worked in the higher education sector for the past 16 years. She also founded a small business while she went to school.
She filed last year along with Keith Wheeler and Beth Goncher to replace State Rep. Kay Hatcher who decided not to run for re-election. Wheeler is the GOP Chairman of the Kendal County GOP.
The 50th encompasses portions of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Montgomery, Oswego, and the eastern part of Plano, Campton Hills, Elburn, Sugar Grove, and Yorkville.
