The U.S. Constitution says that our Second Amendment rights shall not be infringed. That’s pretty straightforward. But a middle school in Illinois has decided that shall not really means that you have no rights unless government says you are allowed to have them.
According to a workbook handout from Grant Middle School in Springfield, Illinois–that happens to be the capital city of the most corrupt state in America–Americans only have Second Amendment rights if they go and “register” with government and if government has decided they are worthy of being allowed those rights. (See image below.)

Illinois School: Gun Rights Only What Government Allows Them to Be”

In the first week of March I was in Washington DC at a party at the Breitbart embassy situated among the brownstone buildings just behind the U.S. Supreme Court building and I was talking to the National Review’s John Fund about the Illinois primaries. He asked me if Rauner was going to run away with it and I said that Dillard might surprise people and come much closer than anyone expected. Fund scoffed a bit. Turns out I was right.
New reports suggest that Chicago Congressman Luis Gutiérrez (D, ILL) is likely expecting to be charged with ethics violations in Washington.
Several years ago a mother who cares for a disabled teen was shocked to discover that the Gov. of Illinois was going to force her into a union because she gets state aid to care for her son. She protested this forced unionization and the forced paying of dues that goes with it. Now a union professor is saying that unions should use violence against this woman to silence her.
In a recent op ed at the Illinois Review Terri Koyne, the Republican Chairman for Macoupin County, tried to explain the difference between a conservative and a “platform Republican.” I sort of understood her point but found the piece to be a bit muddled not to mention historically limited.
A woman convicted of being involved in a deadly terrorist bombing was hired by Obama to be an Obamacare “navigator” in Illinois.
A new transparency project has been launched in California that helps citizens learn just how much salary their government employees earn and the results are shocking. Hundreds of government workers make upwards to and more than $400,000 a year even as California drowns in taxes to pay for it all.
Once again we see the stupidity of the so-called “zero tolerance” policy in our fetid schools with an 11-year-old boy in Chicago who was suspended for voluntarily turning in a broken toy gun to school officials after he remembered he had it in his coat pocket when he got to school.
This morning, Senator Kirk Dillard was “especially proud” to accept the endorsement of the Illinois Education Association (IEA) for the GOP nomination for Illinois Governor.
Senator Dick Durbin is at it again, lying through his teeth, this time about Obamacare. On Sunday’s Meet The Press, Illinois Democrat Durbin made the wild-eyed claim that ten million Americans found new health insurance thanks to Obamacare. He also claimed that Obamacare would lower the deficit. But even the Washington Post gave its worst rating to Durbin’s lies.

Today, Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford has come out to charge that operatives of rival GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner is trying to smear him. Rutherford says he is being extorted by an attorney connected to Bruce Rauner who is representing someone who plans to make some sort of harassment charge against the Treasurer.

Illinois is mulling a new medical marijuana law that would force pot users to sign away their right to bear arms.
Illinois keeps racking up those plaudits as the worst of the worst states in the country, this time coming in second of the top states for outward migration. Illinois has seen more of its citizens fleeing its failing edifice than every other state but New Jersey.
An OfficeMax stationary store in suburban Chicago has courted controversy and raised questions of consumer privacy by sending a direct mail flyer to the home of a man whose daughter was killed in a car accident addressing the mail to the resident and “Daughter Killed in Car Crash Or Current Business.”
Doug Ibendhal over at RepublicanNewsWatch.com has a very interesting observation about Illinois GOP outsider Bruce Rauner’s claim that he stands against “career politicians.” Rauner is actually supporting one of the biggest career politicians in the country quite despite his posturing against that class of public servant.
Well, here is a shining advertisement for the US Post Office. A story out of Chicago finds that the Post Office accidentally delivered gifts sent by the President of the United States to the wrong house.
But, wait. Today came a snide attack on Kirk Dillard (
Apparently political gadflay William J. Kelly has become the subject of political intrigue this month with a wave of pro and anti Kelly info making its way to my email inbox. I have no clue why Kelly is suddenly a hot topic, but it is what it is.

Sponsored by the Illinois chapter of Americans for Prosperity, some 400 tickets were sold for the event–pretty good for a deep blue state like Illinois. Also pretty good since the event was held in Chicago, that deep blue state’s bluest corner. (AFP Ill. Director David From left)
Next came former Congressman Joe Walsh (right), now an evening radio personality for WIND radio in Chicago (
The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is pretty much run by communists and racebaiters. This month we get yet another example of that with a CTU organizer claiming that the city “belongs” to African Americans and not white people.
