Boy Suspended Just for SAYING the Word Gun

-By Warner Todd Huston

Now we get to the height of idiocy with a school “no tolerance” policy with a boy who was suspended just for saying the word gun.

A 11-year-old boy from Northern Middle School in Owings, Maryland has told his mom and dad that he wants to be a Navy SEAL one day, but getting pout of grade school may be a problem for him if Northern authorities have anything to say about it. You see, the sixth-grader was suspended last December just because he used the word “gun” at school.

Todd Starnes reports that the boy’s father, Bruce Henkelman, found out that his son had been talking with other kids on the school bus when the incident happened.

“He said, ‘I wish I had a gun to protect everyone from the bad guys. He wanted to be the hero,” the father said of his son.

The boy’s father is himself a retired Navy veteran.

It gets worse.

Marshall University Professor Suggests Using Military to Kill NRA Members/Conservatives

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Charlestown Gazette recently published the editorial by a Marshall University professor who advocated using an “M1A Abrams tank, supported by an F22 Raptor squadron with Hellfire missiles” to kill NRA members, Republicans, Conservatives, and those who support the Second Amendment.

In an anti-gun piece that could best be described as a foaming-at-the-mouth tirade, Professor Christopher Swindell employs incredibly overheated rhetoric, punctuated by constant name calling, spiced with grammatical errors and out right lies to expound upon his hate for those with whom he disagrees.

Early in his piece, for instance, Swindell describes the rhetoric of supporters of the Second Amendment as “knuckle-dragging Cretan talk.” Yes, he wrote “Cretan talk.” A twofer that is both misspelled and needlessly capitalized.

Would it surprise you to learn that Christopher Swindell is a professor of journalism in Marshall University’s journalism and mass communications department? (swindell@marshall.edu)

Illinois Tops Nation in Growth of Food Stamp Recipients

-By Warner Todd Huston

President Obama’s home state of Illinois has gained a new distinction: it tops the nation in the growth of the number of its citizens on food stamps.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 15.7 percent of the Land of Lincoln’s population are now enrolled in the food stamp program.

As Joe Schoffstall points out: “The USDA’s latest data shows 2,023,635 Illinoisans were enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in February 2013. In February of 2012, 1,831,898 people took part in the program. That’s an increase of 10.5 percent in just one year.”

Schoffstall further notes that, “Illinois was the only state to see a double-digit increase of the number of residents enrolled in the SNAP program from the same time period last year.”

This should come as no surprise. Illinois consistently ranks in with the bottom worst states in nearly every metric used to measure a successful state.

Criminal Unions: The Perfect ‘Government Union Fat Cat’ Story

-By Warner Todd Huston

Today’s example of why government unions should be outlawed is a union chief who ostensibly “works” for the people of New York. He has a grueling two-hour-a-day “work” schedule and spends that time eating lunch, then sleeping.

He’s a real life union fat cat, a perfect example of why government unions should be illegal, and the poster boy for union scumbaggery. He’s the 400-pound Mark Rosenthal, the president of Local 983 of District Council 37–New York’s largest blue-collar municipal-workers union–who earns $156,000 a year in New York’s tax dollars.

Take a look at these photos showing Rosenthal hard at “work”:

The New York Post reports that Rosenthal comes in at two, eats his lunch, takes a nap, then goes home at 4PM to “beat the traffic.”

Every day he uses union funds to buy oversized lunch orders, the leftovers of which he takes home to eat everyday.

Naturally this cretin claims he’s the victim of a “smear campaign.”

But, let’s face it, this guy is what government unions look like. Folks, while you are slaving away, paying taxes, or even finding yourself out of work, these union thieves are sponging off your tax dollars, doing little to nothing for you, and retiring at a young age to enjoy decades of an easy retirement on your dime.

Liberal hero, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, thought that government unions were a terrible idea. He was right. They should be outlawed and this morbidly obese Rosenthal is a perfect example of why.

This man is stealing from New York every day he is employed.

The Broken Clock Principal: Illinois Does Fracking Right

-By Warner Todd Huston

For the extreme left, hydraulic fracturing (known as colloquially as fracking) is the newest bugbear. There are all sorts of false claims about what it “does” to our water and our environment. So, with this anti-fracking crusade crackling along the Internet tubes, most left-wing states are lining up against allowing the natural gas drilling practice to be used within their borders. But Illinois is bucking that left-wing trend.

This is notable because Illinois is one of the worst states in nearly every single metric of what makes a state successful. It has some of the highest unemployment, one of the worst abusive lawsuit climates, the most anti-business legislature, has the only big city that is losing population (Chicago)… in short, Illinois figures prominently with the bottom five states in nearly every measurement that makes an economically successful state.

As Sean Hackbarth writes, California is taking that anti-fracking line that doesn’t surprise considering the fact that California is the other state that consistently ranks with Illinois at the bottom of successful states.

Dem. Senator Durbin Not Sure if Bloggers Deserve Constitutional Protection

-By Warner Todd Huston

In an appearance on Fox News Sunday, senior Illinois Senator, Democrat Dick Durbin, expressed his doubt as to whether bloggers deserved Constitutional protection for their work online.

On the May 26 broadcast of the Sunday show, Durbin told host Chris Wallace that he wasn’t sure if bloggers or “someone who is Tweeting” should be given protections under a media shield law.

Durbin noted that he was not prepared to ask for a special counsel to investigate Eric Holder and his snooping on the business and personal phone calls of nearly 100 reporters of the Associated Press, but he went further to question just who a media shield law would cover.

But here is the bottom line–the media shield law, which I am prepared to support, and I know Sen. Graham supports, still leaves an unanswered question, which I have raised many times: What is a journalist today in 2013? We know it’s someone that works for Fox or AP, but does it include a blogger? Does it include someone who is tweeting? Are these people journalists and entitled to constitutional protection? We need to ask 21st century questions about a provision in our Constitution that was written over 200 years ago.

Durbin did not go on to attempt to clarify what those limits should be.

Mayor Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun Group Launches Ad Campaign Against Senator Mark Pryor

-By Warner Todd Huston

Living up to his promise to attack even Democrats that he deems insufficiently anti-gun, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced an ad buy to criticize Arkansas’ Democrat Senator Mark Pryor.

Pryor, who will be running for a third term in 2014, recently voted against the Toomey-Manchin anti-gun bill drawing the ire of Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Guns group.

Bloomberg’s group has announced a $350 thousand buy for a two-week campaign.

The video ad features former Democratic staffer Angela Bradford-Barnes mourning the loss of Democrat Party chairman Bill Gwatney who was shot to death in 2008 as he worked at party headquarters in Little Rock.

No motive for the shooting was ever determined by police.

In the anti-Pryor ad, Angela Bradford-Barnes mentions Gwatney’s murder and then says that she was “disappointed when Mark Pryor voted against comprehensive background checks.”

Washington Bridge Collapse Being Used to Push Big Government

-By Warner Todd Huston

By all accounts the Interstate 5 bridge collapse in Washington State was a result of an over sized truck load as opposed to “failing infrastructure.” But a plea for greater federal spending figured prominently in many reports on the accident nonetheless.

Naturally, many on the left stampeded immediately to decrying “austerity,” or accused the Republicans of “endangering lives” by opposing big government, while still others blamed the sequester as news of the collapse spread.

In the progressive media, infrastructure also featured prominently in coverage.

CNN, for instance, injected Obama’s call for higher spending in its piece. USA Today also claimed that the bridge collapse would “raise questions about the nation’s infrastructure.” Reuters focused on a call for “public officials to invest in infrastructure and upgrade bridges.” The Associated Press joined Reuters in that focus. And, not to be outdone, Bloomberg said, “The bridge’s collapse put a new focus on the nation’s failing infrastructure, an issue that President Barack Obama has highlighted in his second-term agenda.”

Sadly, the Voice of America also used the collapse as a means to talk about Obama’s spending wants.

Politico’s Thrush Politicizes Oklahoma Tornado

-By Warner Todd Huston

The destructive tornado that destroyed the quiet town of Moore, Oklahoma on the afternoon of May 20 was only a few hours gone, the devastation had yet to be measured, and the dead barely counted much less mourned and laid to rest before Politico’s Glenn Thrush felt it was already time to politicize the event and by scolding Oklahoma’s Senators because they are against global warming and big government spending, no less

Only hours after the monster storm ended, Thrush took to his Twitter account to slam Oklahoma’s Senators.

So, because a tornado hit in an area that has a long history of getting hit by tornados, if that area’s senators were global warming believers…. then, what, Glenn? If Oklahoma’s senators were to be global warming aficionados, would that somehow have warded off a tornado?

Or, perhaps if said senators were believers in big government spending would that somehow have been a bulwark to stop natural disasters?

Or is it, Mr. Thrush, that you are always in a rush to find any reason to attack someone because they don’t believe in your love of big government and your zealous belief in global warming? Regardless of whether a town is destroyed and children are killed it all still serves as fodder for your desire to advance your political objectives?

Is that it, Mr. Thrush?

Arkansas’ Democrat State Treasurer Arrested for Extortion

-By Warner Todd Huston

On Saturday the FBI arrested two-term Arkansas State Treasurer Martha Shoffner (D, Newport) on charges of “extortion under color of official right,” a violation of the Hobbs Act.

Shoffner has been under scrutiny in Arkansas for a seemingly unexplainable investment she made of state funds. After a legislative audit last year it came to light that in 2011 her office sold 11 bonds that hadn’t matured and then bought similar bonds from the same brokers, resulting in a loss of more than $58,000 of the state’s money.

Republicans have been clamoring for her resignation for sometime over this failed investment strategy.

In December of 2012, state authorities decided to hand over their investigation to federal authorities once it appeared that, along with the failed investing practices, Shoffner had also converted campaign funds to her personal use.

Gosnell Defense Attny Blamed ‘Baby Factor’ In Part For Guilty Verdict

-By Warner Todd Huston

Attorney Jack McMahon had an interesting excuse for why he lost the case to a guilty verdict for his client, abortion mill operator Kermit Gosnell. It was because of the “baby factor” he said to reporters right after the court adjourned. McMahon called this “a big problem.”

Just what the lawyer meant by “the baby factor” is open to question, but in context it seems that he was saying that the jurors were influenced by the common human emotion of love for babies and that emotional response led the jurors to convict his client.

Oddly, McMahon also blamed the media saying, “The media has been overwhelmingly against him [Gosnell].” This is odd since the media barely mentioned the trial during its entire run. Further, jurors reported that they had not seen much of the media’s coverage anyway.

McMahon did applaud the jury for taking its job seriously, though.

Feds Killing Off Private Bus Lines Based on Fraudulent Study

-By Warner Todd Huston

The story of the coming demise of Chinatown bus lines in New York City is a tale of multiple failures in both government and the media and shows that both have a bias against entrepreneurs that kills new, start up ideas with unfair regulations, faux public advocacy, and dismal reporting.

A “Chinatown buss” was a new idea in the late 90s pioneered by Chinese immigrants in the Big Apple. These were private buses that cruised the streets looking for fares like cabs do, picking customers up at curbside, not having fixed bus stops or routes, and going where ever the customer wanted to go within a defined area of the city. Because they originated in New York’s Chinatown area, they became known as “Chinatown busses.”

Unfortunately, their success led to their downfall when nosey politicians like Senator Chuck Schumer began to take notice of them. Schumer and other New York pols began to call for a crack down on the busses and started looking to hit them with an avalanche of stifling regulations meant to “save lives.”

To assist Schumer in that jobs-killing endeavor the National Transportation Safety Bureau jumped to conduct a “study” of the safety records of Chinatown busses and purported to have found that these busses had a death rate “seven times higher” than that of other services.

Turning Texas Blue: Obama Tours Austin

-By Warner Todd Huston

President Obama recently conducted a “tech tour” of Austin, Texas looking to get more federal money sent to support Austin’s tech boom.

The visit is part of a new campaign Obama is conducting across the country to cajole Congress into adopting some of the economic ideas he offered in his last State of the Union speech and his budget proposal.

In a visit to Applied Materials Inc., Obama said, “We’re poised for a time of progress, if we’re willing to seize it.”

The “it” he wants seized is greater federal spending. Obama has a long history on supporting “green” and tech spending on failed companies like Solyndra, Fisker Motors, and a score of other such bankrupted companies.

The President also warned that if Congress allowed “sequestration” to cut off funds to tech companies and research “We could end up losing our edge” to companies in Asia.

New ‘Explosives’ License Impinges on Gun Owners that Load Own Ammo

-By Warner Todd Huston

Before the smoke had cleared after the terror attacks during the Boston Marathon last month, New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg employed Obama’s favorite axiom of never letting a good crisis go to waste by immediately proposing major changes to federal laws pertaining to loose gun powder and explosives.

Reports quickly emerged after the bombing that the terrorists had used black powder for the explosive component of their pressure cooker bombs and this news prompted Lautenberg to action.

On April 23, Lautenberg introduced S. 792, the Explosive Materials Background Check Act. Originally, the Senator submitted the bill as a shell bill–meaning it was not fully written–but this month he has finally submitted the full text of his bill.

An analysis of the text reveals some disturbing changes ton current law. Lautenberg’s changes in the explosives law would seriously hamper history reenactor hobbyists, black powder hunters, sportsmen, target shooters, and anyone that loads their own ammo with modern smokeless gun powder or the older style black powder.

L.A. School District Knew of Sexual Misconduct Claims, Did Nothing

-By Warner Todd Huston

Earlier this year L.A. teacher Robert Pimentel, 57, was arrested accused by several students and one other teacher of sexual misconduct, but now documents seem to prove that L.A. Unified School District officials knew of allegations of sexual misconduct involving Pimentel going as far back as 2009 but took no real action.

One person accusing the school district of not taking action sooner is Luis Carrillo, the lawyer representing the families of the three students from De La Torre Elementary School who allege that Pimentel sexually abused their children.

Carrillo says the proof is in a document that appears to be from the school district and details a complaint about Pimentel made by parents in October of 2009.

“Parents stated that there is a male teacher named [Robert] Pimentel who has been known to touch female students inappropriately,” the document says. “The parents reported that he caresses the girls, gives them candy and photographs them without parent permission.”

Useful Idiot: Illinois Democrat Says Govt’s Job is to ‘Give Rights’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Illinois State Representative Sara Feigenholtz thinks her job is to “give rights” to people. Feigenholtz recently blurted that out in an interview giving us a perfect example of the key difference between those interested in preserving the American system, its morals, and traditions, and those that have no interest in such niceties and instead what to wholly remake the relationship between government and citizen giving government more and more power over everyone.

In the interview, Feigenholtz, a Chicago Democrat in the 12th District, announced her intention to “give rights” to the gay community in Illinois and felt that this “giving” of rights was one of the most important jobs of elected officials.

“For me, the most precious thing I do as a lawmaker is giving people rights,” Feigenholtz said. “We have a powerful opportunity as elected officials to do this.”

As an aside, Feigenholtz then went on to disgustingly exploit the Holocaust in WWII as a means to push her “gay rights” issues.

Of course, this little admission shows there is a monumental chasm here between progressives and left-wingers like Feigenholtz and the rest of us that hew closer to American tradition.

Infidelity Advocates Ashley Madison Uses Mark Sanford on Billboard Ad

-By Warner Todd Huston

Hook up site AshleyMadison.com is again courting controversy after debuting a new billboard campaign south of Columbia, South Carolina, that uses a photo of ex Governor Mark Sanford to sell its tryst-arranging services.

The ad appears on Interstate 26, 25 miles below South Carolina’s state capital, Columbia, and takes up two, stacked billboards. The top billboard reads “Next time use…” next to a photo of Gov. Sanford. The one below reads “AshleyMadison.com to find your ‘running mate.'” The lower billboard also features the website’s slogan, “Life is short. Have an affair.”

The site’s CEO, Noel Biderman, claims that he hopes his billboards will lead to more acceptance for adultery and cheating and lead to less criticism for those who indulge such behavior.

“We are trying to get people to distinguish between capability, and what goes on in the bedroom,” Biderman said. “There are few voices speaking on behalf of those who are unfaithful. Once we found out [Sanford] was back in business, that’s the story we want to attach ourselves to. We believe careers shouldn’t be lost because you choose not to sustain monogamy.”

Sanford drew criticism in 2009 for an extramarital affair that eventually drove him from the Governor’s office. Now, Ex-Governor Sanford is now running for Congress in South Carolina. His campaign has not released a statement on the billboards.

Farewell Chip Gerdes

-By Warner Todd Huston

If you are a Midwesterner–especially in Illinois and Missouri–and you are in any way connected with political campaigning, you’ve heard about or run across Chip Gerdes. A big bear of a guy, Gerdes was one of the two states’ most active background operatives.

Gerdes wasn’t an “out there” guy, not the sort of guy that people outside of the in-the-know world of political operatives would have met or heard of. Chip worked behind the scenes and his hand was evident in so many issue and candidate info campaigns in Illinois it was hard to keep track of them all. As Breitbart.com’s Joel Pollak said, “He was an Alinskyite–for the good guys.”

Chip was always very full of life, verve, and swagger. Ever ready to ride to the sound of the guns whenever conservatives in Illinois and Missouri needed him. And boy did he love what he did.

Whenever one encountered Gerdes he was gregarious with a slap to the back, a hearty handshake, a word about his latest campaign effort, and an offer to go get a drink at the earliest convenience.

Traitors: American Journalists Attack Koch Brothers, Support Al Jazeera

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is a confluence of events over the last few weeks that perfectly proves the essential anti-Americanism of the Old Media establishment in this country today. It is evinced in two separate stories, one wheret the left is excoriating the Koch brothers for wanting to buy the L.A. Times and a contrasting story where journalists are falling all over themselves to get hired by the new news network being started by Al Jazeera, the jihad-supporting, anti-American, Muslim-owned news agency.

At the end of April, stories began to emerge that conservative brothers David and Charles Koch might be interesting in buying a newspaper such as the Los Angeles Times in an effort to enlarge their media presence. This news sent the Old Media establishment into conniption fits.

The billionaire Koch brothers are libertarian leaning and have used their money to fund many conservative causes. They were, for instance, a big part of forming the activist group Americans for Prosperity among others.

Almost instantly reports came out that “half the staff” of the Times vowed to quit their jobs if the Kochs were allowed to buy the paper. Quickly on the heels of that news, the newspaper union put out a statement saying that the Kochs are unfit to own a newspaper.

Even Los Angeles politicians were jumping the Koch haters bandwagon. Several L.A. councilmen weighed in attempting to prevent any possible sale of the paper to the conservative duo.

So, a pair of Americans who want to buy a newspaper are finding the entire media establishment rising up to attack them and to try and prevent any such sale. Worse, the media’s lapdog politicians are joining the effort by illicitly trying to use their influence in government to put a stop to a perfectly legitimate sale.

Social Media Site Reddit Apologizes for ‘Online Witch Hunt’ of Boston Bomber Search

Reddit has officially apologized for users’ assumption that an innocent and missing Brown University student was a likely suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.

In the few days between the Monday afternoon bombing of the Boston Marathon and Friday morning when it became clear that the Tsarnev brothers were being sought by authorities for the act of terror, users of the social media website Reddit attempted to ID the bombers through a crowd sourced search of video and photographs of the bombing site.

Unfortunately, according to Reddit General Manager Erik Martin, the effort became a “witch hunt” and proved to be just the sort of situation that the website had hoped to avoid.

“We all need to look at what happened and make sure that in the future we do everything we can to help and not hinder crisis situations,” Martin said in a blog post published on April 22.

Resident Admits Tsarnaev’s Hate For US is Typical in Cambridge

What one resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts had to say about the atmosphere in that liberal area of the state was quite telling in revealing how essentially un-American leftism truly is. This resident practically admitted that the in that college town, everyone expresses the same basic hate for America that dead terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev so often did. When he terrorist Tsarnaev was heard attacking America in conversation, no one paid it any mind.

In interviews, Luis Vasquez, a Cambridge native who was in the same year at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School as the dead suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, said that the hate for America that Tamerlan expressed was so commonly heard around Cambridge that it was essentially unremarkable.

In response to Tamerlan’s claim that he had not a single American friend, here is what Mr. Vasquez is quoted as saying:

New York Times Defends Non-Coverage of Gosnell Trial, Says Trial is Meaningless

-By Warner Todd Huston

For The New York Times, editorial page editor Andrew Rosenthal penned an apologia for the Old Media establishment’s disinterest in covering the abortion trial of Kermit Gosnell and essentially claimed that the trial is a meaningless incident when all things are considered, especially when it comes to the overall abortion debate.

“What does the trial of a Philadelphia doctor who is accused of performing illegal late-term abortions by inducing labor and then killing viable fetuses have to do with the debate over legal abortion,” Rosenthal writes.

Rosenthal excuses his paper’s lack of coverage of the Gosnell trial saying that the NYT has written “six articles” already so this, he believes, means they’ve adequately covered the story. He also maintains that there is “no rule” that a newspaper “has to run one piece about a bad clinic for every piece celebrating a good one.”

But a mere six articles seems rather lacking. As LifeNews.com’s Rob Schwarzwalder pointedly recalls, “I wonder why the Times, as it did with the trial of Tiller murderer George Roeder, did not cover such things as jury selection or pronounce endlessly on the assorted issues involved in the Gosnell case.”

Speaking of Tiller, Rosenthal also invokes the murdered abortionist and finds space to mourn his death and celebrates the reopening of his clinic.

Hey Dhimmi Duckworth, Rep. Joe Walsh Was Right About Boston Bombers

-By Warner Todd Huston

TODAY: A bombing during the Boston Marathon kills three and injures over a hundred, some requiring multiple amputations. Muslims that had become naturalized American citizens perpetrated these crimes.

During the 2012 election cycle, then Representative Joe Walsh was attacked by his opponent, Tammy Duckworth–now our elected Congressman–and her campaign assistants in what we call “the press” because at a campaign stop he said there are homegrown radical Islamists in America that are just as dangerous as those overseas.

In response to criticism by Dhimmi Duckworth, Walsh said the following: “While the overwhelming majority of Muslim Americans are as peace loving as everyone else, there are radical Islamists right here in the United States trying to kill Americans and destroy this country.”

This man was turned out of office despite that he was 100% right. Now we have a terror apologist in that seat in Washington DC. This is only in keeping with a President that feels the same way as Dhimmi Duckworth.

Obama and Dhimmi Duckworth have failed to keep America safe. Boston’s blood is on their hands.

Boston Globe Frets Over City’s Muslims After Marathon Bombing

-By Warner Todd Huston

Before the dust has settled, before any idea of who perpetrated the Boston Marathon bombing and why is determined, the Boston Globe is fretting for the city’s Muslims claiming that there will surely be a “backlash” if the bombers are found to be Islamic extremists. This despite that even after 9/11 there was never any real backlash against Muslims in this country.

For the Boston Globe, columnist Yvonne Abraham opens her piece sonorously noting that Boston’s “Imams have been praying for Monday’s bombings” and fretfully claims they are also “praying” that the perpetrator isn’t a Muslim.

Abraham then goes on to claim that Boston’s Muslims experienced a “backlash” after the attacks by Islamic extremists on Sept. 11, 2001. She even outrageously evokes Japanese internment camps from WWII.

He recalls the backlash that followed the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He remembers being afraid to send his children to school for a few days afterward, and the way some began to view all Muslims with suspicion, even hostility. A few fringe-dwellers even spoke of internment camps like those that held Japanese-Americans during the ≠Second World War.

This is all nonsense. No one talked of putting Muslims in concentration camps. Further, Muslims did not experience any backlash in the United States immediately after 9/11 or since.

**UPDATE** 3 PM Eastern, FBI reiterating that NO arrest has been made. Some sources say someone has been detained for questioning but not yet officially arrested.

+++++++

2PM Eastern: CNN correspondent John King reported this afternoon that authorities have identified a suspect in the bombing of the Boston Marathon.

On the afternoon of April 17, King reported that, “the description given to me was a dark skinned male” but it wasn’t clear whether or not police had anyone in custody.

The identification came from surveillance video of the crowd recorded near the Lord & Taylor store along the race route and near where the second blast occurred.

Authorities say they have video of the “dark skinned” man dropping a backpack near the store shortly before the explosion took place. The bombs, made of six-liter pressure cookers packed with nails and ball bearings, are reminiscent of those used in bombings in India.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino also noted on Wednesday afternoon that the police are “very close” to identifying a suspect.

Shortly after King’s report aired, the Associated Press reported that an arrest is “imminent.”

“A law enforcement official briefed on the investigation says a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings is about to be arrested.”
