Democrats Violate Equal Pay for Women, Lilly Ledbetter Betrayed

As one of his first official acts, President Barack Obama made a great show of his deep concern for the idea of equal pay for women by signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act, a bill that was supposed to solve that inequity. Sadly, it appears that Obama and his Democrats are only interested in forcing private industry to observe equal pay for women while refusing to hold themselves to that high standard.

In 2009 Obama got a lot of credit for how much he cares about women yet by April of 2012 a study of what women were being paid in his White House showed they were being paid less on average than the men in his office.

But it isn’t just Obama’s hypocrisy that has come to light on the issue of equal pay for women in government. A new survey of the pay of staffers of Senate Democrats shows that they too are paying their workers less than they pay men.

The Free Beacon looked into the pay of Senate staffers and found that 37 Democrats staffers pay females in their offices less than they pay male employees.

Looks like a left-wing, wannabe murderer and convicted domestic terrorist has decided to start threatening several conservative bloggers over their posts about his violent past. The scumbag in question, one Brett Kimberlin, even found the home phone number of one of these bloggers and left a veiled threat to the man’s wife and family.

Robert Stacy McCain of The Other McCain has vacated his house for a while just in case this convicted bomber decides to come calling. I’d say Robert observed a good precaution since this monster called his house and threatened his wife and family and since this leftists is a convicted bomber, and all.

Obama’s Soft Core Porn Video Making Campaign Cash Bundler

The Washington Free Beacon has an amusing tale of strippers, videos, and Obama campaign donation bundlers that is already getting lefties crying foul.

Apparently the Beacon discovered that one of Obama’s big campaign donation bundlers, one Stacii Jae Johnson, produced and starred in a stripper video in 2004 titled, “I Want To Strip For My Man But I Don’t Know How … Unleashing the Naughty Girl In You!,” a video that supposedly instructs “everyday women” to strip for their boyfriends and husbands.

Johnson works in Atlanta. According to the Beacon:

Stacii Jae Johnson, who currently serves as special events director in the office of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed (D) and has bundled between $50,000 and $100,000 for the Obama reelection campaign, is a former Hollywood actress with extensive connections to the film and television industries.

Apparently Johnson has also been a bit actor in a few movies over the years.

Here is Why Liberals Think Politics is so Bad Today

The Washington Post published a long Op Ed by a pair of think tankers pretending at both being “centrists” and offering an unbiased analysis of why politics has gotten so “partisan” these days. The pair also claim they know how to end this messy partisanship. But what they wrote is a perfect example of why things have become so polarized, not an example of how to fix anything.

The authors, Thomas E. Mann and Norman J. Ornstein, published theirs headlined, “Want to end partisan politics? Here’s what won’t work — and what will,” a piece filled with all sorts of claims, pseudo analysis, and offers of solutions. The piece is practically one long paean to liberalism as opposed to serious analysis, but it does do one thing successfully. It shows us why the public debate has gotten bad not for its analysis and solutions but for the left-wing ideological underpinnings of their arguments.

The pair start with five solutions they think we should avoid, the first being a propensity to invest our hopes in a third party. On its face, this is correct. Third parties are now and always have been a joke in the U.S. system. They have never been worth anything other than a sideshow act. Only once did a third party ever make major headway and that was Teddy Roosevelt’s Bull Moose Party — with which he almost won another shot at the White House — but once TR was gone the party collapsed.

Here we have another union thug acting out a desire for violence. This time it’s Donna Dewitt, the President of the South Carolina AFL-CIO (a grand title for a chief thug, eh?), using a baseball bat to smack a piñata sporting the face of S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley on it.

Now, imagine, folks, if these were Republicans using a ball bat on an effigy of a Democrat Gov. — and a female one at that. This story would be the story of the day all over the news and would go on for weeks at a time. We’d never hear the end of it from the Old Media.

Democrats do it… and crickets.

In fact, if this was a video of Republicans doing such a thing, the GOP candidate for president would be tarred with their actions. Right now we’d be hearing calls from every last Democrat, every last member of the media (but I repeat myself) for Governor Mitt Romney to disavow this violence.

Obama’s Grade as President: D Plus

Matthew Continetti gives the President a D plus in his grade for his first term in office and with a grade that low, let’s hope it is his only term in office.

Continetti notes that Obama awarded himself a “a good, solid, B-plus” not long ago but when he visited the cacklers at ABC’s The View he decided that he shouldn’t assign himself a letter grade because his term is “incomplete.”

Actually, as Continetti points out, his first term is essentially finished, at least legislatively. Congress won’t be doing much more serious business until after the coming election, so his work is practically done. Since the work is basically done, Continetti feels a letter grade is quite apropos and he gives Obama a D plus.

“One arrives at such a low mark only after a thorough–and scientific–examination of the president’s record of broken promises and unfulfilled expectations,” Continetti writes.

Civil Rights Make no Appearance in Obama NATO Afghanistan Address

One of George W. Bush’s real achievements in Afghanistan was his push for civil rights for Afghani women. Real successes were had as girls were at last allowed to go to school and women began to enter the realm of Afghan politics. Bush made equal rights for Afghan women a priority. Not so with his successor, Barack Obama, and his speech at the opening of the NATO meeting on Afghanistan was yet another missed opportunity to reassert that drive for civil rights in Afghanistan.

The address before NATO during the opening minutes of the first ISAF meeting on Afghanistan — one with Afghan President Hamid Karzai right there in attendance — was the perfect time to at least mention the ongoing quest for equal rights for women in that region. Sadly, even as these rights have slipped backwards in some areas of Afghanistan in the last few years, Obama eschewed any reference to the subject.

At the end of his brief and perfunctory comments, Obama spoke of the “opportunity to ensure our [that] hard-won progress is preserved” and this would have been the perfect chance to at least mention civil rights for women. Instead, President Obama hewed close to the US support for Afghan security forces. “(A)s Afghans stand up they will not stand alone,” the president said as he hailed the “long-term relationship with Afghanistan beyond 2014” that was being cultivated.

A Blogger at NATO 2012, What I Saw on Day One

I was awarded press credentials for NATO’s 2012 Summit in Chicago and, having no idea what to expect, what I found on day one was a study in contrasts. What occurred was sometimes amusing, often mundane, and sometimes even violent. But it was all democracy in action.

Early on the morning of day one, Sunday, May 20, I boarded a western Metra train under threat of having my equipment bags confiscated or at least me prevented from boarding the train with them. I was not ruffed up the “the man,” though and downtown I went riding high on the rails. Literally. I took a seat on the top tier of the train.


The Summit didn’t start well as the NATO advance video called Chicago the Illinois Capital (It isn’t) and the place where Obama grew up (Again, it isn’t).

Upon reaching the gathering point for the press in beautiful downtown Chicago I boarded the super, double, secret press shuttle bus that took us down the service streets, steering well clear of the surface roads, straight to Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center, site of the NATO Summit.

Of course, before I was allowed on the super, double, secret press bus, bomb-sniffing dogs were loosed to make sure I had no underwear-bomb on my person or in my equipment bags. After I was officially cleared, I boarded the bus with local Chicago TV newsreader Jay Levine.

Everywhere I went there were knots of security personnel. A LOT of security personnel. The last time I saw that many security people I was in Cancun, Mexico during the 2010 UN Climate Conference.

There were members of the FBI, Homeland Security, Chicago Police, the U.S. Marshals as well as U.S. Airmen and Army officers all there on duty to make sure our tender media people were safe and secure.

I was later to learn that out on the streets of Chicago the number of security of all sorts made the way to McCormick Place seem like it was lightly guarded!

Michael Patrick Leahy detailed yet another twist to Elizabeth “Faux-Cahontis” Warren’s tale of fake American Indian claims. Apparently in 1984 Warren supplied several “old family recipes” to the “Pow Wow Chow cookbook,” edited by her cousin. Turns out these “family recipes” where just lifted from various cookbooks and newspaper articles of the era. She appears to have plagiarized them.

Will the media note that Warren plagiarized recipes from other cookbooks, claimed they were “family recipes,” and then signed them “Elizabeth Warren – Cherokee”? Probably not, but the Old Media went ga ga when they thought her opponent, Senator Scott Brown, plagiarized something.

For Warren’s part, Leahy notes that several of her “family recipes” were copied word-for-word from a New York Times News service piece published in 1979. Boston-based talk show host Howie Carr also found that several of her recipes appear to have been plagiarized. (Here, here, and here)

Buzz Feed Tries to Make Fun of Romney Over Telephone Photo

This is the kind of ignorance that you see from the left, the kind of bull crap political attack that they pretend is just “funny,” but is really just the sort of low-down lies that the left loves to indulge. In this case, Andrew Kaczynski of the website Buzz Feed tried to push a photo that he intimates shows that Mitt Romney doesn’t know how to use a land-line telephone.

Kaczynski’s caption at twitpic was, “Romney holding the landline upside down.”

Now, it is obvious that Romney had picked up the phone but was talking to a person in the room, one not on the phone. Yet here is Buzz Feed trying to lead people to laugh at the out-of-touch Romney who doesn’t know how to use a telephone.

You might recall the photoshopped picture of George W. Bush supposedly using a phone upside down that was faked by the left? This photo appeared on every liberal website known to the Internet tubes. Well, Andrew Kaczynski is just trying to get that same effect but by just lying in a caption instead of going to the trouble to fake the photo entirely like liberals did in Bush’s term.

Yep, this is the sort of ignorant, political hackery that we’ve come to expect from the issues-ignoring left. They’d rather try to make up false narratives about Republicans using misleading captions on photos than talk about how bad Obama’s stewardship of this country has been.

When I first tweeted this, Kaczynski tweeted me back trying to claim that he just thought the photo was “funny.” He said, “Its just a funny photo. You don’t really think I’m implying Romney was talking on the phone backwards?”

The answer? Of course he was.

Blogger Gets Ripped Off by Newspaper, Gets Satisfaction on Video

Duane Lester of AllAmericanBlogger recently wrote an excellent expose about some financial troubles in the Holt County, Missouri Sheriff’s office. It was so well received that the Oregon Observer, a small paper in Missouri, wanted to cover the story, too. So, what did the paper do…?

Why the paper stole Duane’s entire post and printed it in its paper, grammatical errors and all. Worse, they never bothered to mention where the article came from or who wrote it.

That’s right, the Oregon Observer just stole the whole thing neither paying Duane for his work nor even giving him a proper byline.

So, Duane took his video camera in and asked them what’s the deal with that…

I love it. Got paid, too! Excellent work, Duane.

Foolish Naivete: Sen. Coburn ‘Believes’ Obama Will Become Entitlement Reformer in 2nd Term

Republican Senator Tom Coburn has just completed his transformation into a laughing stock. In an interview with the Washington Post’s Ezra Klein, Coburn claimed that he fully believes that President Obama will become an “entitlement reformer” in his second term.

At the end of Klein’s first part of the interview he asks Coburn if Republicans will do any better to “compromise” with Obama if Obama wins a second term. Here is Coburn’s absurd reply:

We’ve had conversations where he’s told me he’ll go much further than anyone believes he’ll go to solve the entitlement problem if he can get the compromise. And I believe him. I believe he would.

This is the single dumbest thing I’ve ever seen a Republican say. The naivete and stupidity of this naïf is the most gobsmackingly stupid I’ve ever seen.

A luxury resort in Miami, Florida with police-guarded closed doors was the home of a secret George Soros-backed summit attended by deep-pocketed left-wing donors over the weekend of May 12. They met to plan their strategy for the 2012 elections and beyond. Yes, it was all hush hush and secret-like — so much for all that “transparency” those lefties are always braying about.

The event hosted by the leftist group Democracy Alliance was reported upon by the Washington Free Beacon from afar. I say from afar because the Soros-paid group refused the reporters access to the event.

Holding true to their hoary claims of the need for an open and transparent political system, the cadre of lefties had armed guards turn away reporters of the Beacon who tried to gain access to the summit after-party. The Beacon’s reporters were even harassed in front of the hotel by the rent-a-cops paid by Soros and his pals to keep the summit secret.

As unbelievable as it may sound for the sheer arrogance and audacity of it all, President Obama has injected himself into the bios pages of all our past presidents on the official White House website. So, when you go to read about our past presidents you’ll also get a campaign blurb about The One, the Obammessiah, the Lightbringer. If this isn’t chutzpah, what is?

In his arrogance Obama has added a small section tooting his own horn into the bios of every president but Gerald Ford — likely because his web team just missed Ford’s entry, not because Ford is sacrosanct or anything.

For instance, here is what Obama had his webteam add to the White House bio of Ronald Reagan:

Did you know?

  • President Reagan designated Martin Luther King Jr. Day a national holiday; today the Obama Administration honors this tradition, with the First and Second Families participating in service projects on this day.
  • In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.

There are entries similar to this for every president.

Seth Mandel who posted early on Tuesday about this outrage joked that The One sees himself as equal or superior to every past president because he is carrying forward every accomplishment “since Coolidge.” He goes on to say, “No wonder he always seems so proud of himself.”

Why is the New England Historic Genealogical Society Lying Abut Warren’s Amer. Indian Claims?

As each day rolls on in this investigation of the claims made by Massachusetts Democrat Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren that she has Native American heritage in her background we are finding fewer and fewer reasons to believe her. Sadly, she is dragging down once well-respected groups with her unprovable claims and Boston-based New England Historic Genealogical Society is one of them.

As this story came to the fore recently one of the main sources that buttressed Warren’s now faltering claims that she is part Native American came from the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS). Famously, or perhaps now infamously, NEHGS genealogist Christopher Child substantiated Warren’s claim that her great-great-great grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, had Cherokee blood.

This evidence, Mr. Child claimed, is substantiated by a “marriage application” filed with the state of Oklahoma upon which, Child insists, is a section where this supposed native heritage is noted. This document, however, does not seem to actually exist.

FAIL: Obama Ad Attacks Romney for Bain Bought Company That Laid People Off… But Romney DIDN’T Work There Then!

Barack Obama released a new video ad featuring former workers of GST Steel of Kansas City who lost their jobs because of Mitt Romney’s work at Bain Capital — at least according to Obama that’s why they lost their jobs. Unfortunately for team Obama, the truth seems to argue against his campaign lies.

The ad is full of lament about GST workers having lost their jobs, sympathy that is most certainly warranted. But the ad goes on to call Romney an “economic vampire” over the layoffs. Union member Jack Cobb, one of the workers in the ad, says for instance, “It was like a vampire. They came in and sucked the life out of us.”

The ad goes on to blame Mitt Romney and Bain Capital for that vampirism.


WARNING: This Obama ad is filled with lies!

But there are quite a few problems with all these hoary claims of the evils of Bain Capital. First of all is the fact that every voice in this video is that of a union thug. Most especially a man noted as the lead union negotiator, David Foster. Does anyone think a unionista will tell the truth about what went on with a company they spent decades extorting?

J.P. Morgan Chase $2 Billion Loss Raises Fears of Government Actions

Last week the news of the $2 billion trading loss suffered by J.P.Morgan Chase hit the country like another nasty slap in the face to a nation already facing an economic downturn that is the worst one in a lifetime.

The $2 billion bandied about by the media is not likely the end of that loss, either. This was only the first round of losses due to these bad derivatives trades and more losses are likely yet to come.

For some insight on this mess I exchanged some emails with Sandra Smith of Fox Business Network.

Smith said that the bank “characterized the trades as legitimate hedges of risks elsewhere in the banking group that went awry,” but this understated explanation won’t likely suffice for those out for the heads of those working in our financial sector.

Obama White House Politicizes Mothers Day for Obamacare Push

Nothing is sacred to this president. Nothing. Even Mothers Day is something for him to use to push his wrong-headed political policies as is evident on the White House website where the holiday meant to honor our nation’s moms is being used to push Obamacare.

It would be bad enough if Obama had this appalling use of Mothers Day on his campaign website, but it isn’t. It’s on the official White House website, to that makes it the official position of the U.S. government.

Worse, this is another example of Obama’s use of a faceless image to represent women, just like his risible “Julia” campaign. Apparently women are just faceless automatons to this president, cannon fodder for his reelection campaign.

But this does bring to mind a question. Why is Obama celebrating mothers now? After all, back in 2008 he said that motherhood is a “punishment.”

Obama As ‘First Gay President,’ Shows Truth Means Nothing to Liberals

Symbolism is far, far more important to the childish, silly left in America than truth. Why do I say that? The newest Newsweek cover explains why as its May 21 cover proclaims that Barack Obama is “the first gay president.”

This, of course, is in reference to Obama’s announcement of his non-support of gay marriage made last week. It was a non-supporting announcement because really all he did was claim some personal belief in gay marriage but did not follow that up with any actual policy proposals meaning that regardless of how he claims he now feels, itself a departure of his many years of saying the opposite, nothing will change on the matter of gay marriage. It was pandering to his gay donors and little else.

Yet, now we have a gay columnist, the hack blogger Andrew Sullivan, claiming that Obama is “the first gay president.”

But he isn’t.

Beach Boys Singer, Another Entertainer Mugged by Reality, Calls Obama ‘Socialist A-Hole’

Looks like Bruce Johnston, one of the lead singers of the Beach Boys, is another entertainer that has gotten sick and tired of President Obama’s particular brand of class warfare.

Johnston, who joined the band in 1965 after troubled founder Brian Wilson faded from the band, was recently filmed reaming Obama as a “socialist a_ _ hole.”

Though, to be sure, he wasn’t too fond of Mitt Romney, either.

New Jersey Police Say Blind People Don’t Deserve Constitutional Rights

Are you a blind person living in New Jersey? Well, according to your police there, they think because you are blind you shouldn’t be allowed to have your Constitutional right to bear arms. This is exactly what they told a Rockaway man over four years ago. But he’s had the last laugh.

Steven Hopler, 49, lost his sight in an accident but that never stopped him from his hobby of collecting and shooting firearms. Four years ago, however, he had an accident and shot himself in the leg. When police responded they decided he was “a danger” and confiscated his firearms without a court order or any legal standing.

It has taken him four years of legal battles, but he’s finally won. This month a court ordered the Rockaway police to return Mr. Hopler’s gun collection saying that his disability did not eliminate his Constitutional rights as prescribed in the Second Amendment.

Hopler celebrated his victory saying it wasn’t about “power,” it was about “freedom.”

Dangers of the Ballot Initiative

At first blush, the idea of having ballot initiatives on election day seems like such a great, democratic idea. Unfortunately, all too often, all they are is a way to enlarge government, chip away at freedom, and cost the taxpayers money without returning the benefits promised. California is the perfect example of these troubles.

The problem, of course, is not that it’s too much democracy, but that few of these ballot measures are true grassroots uprisings meant to make the lives of Californians better. Instead they are moneyed special interests using their deep pockets to buy the petition process in order to get their own narrow needs favored in Sacramento.

Even as far back as 2004, the L.A. Times had soured on ballot measures. In an editorial scoffing at the whole system, the Times ended saying, “Ballot-box legislating — often swayed by false or misleading advertising — is no way to run a state of 36 million people and such diverse needs.”

That same year in San Jose, for instance, a ballot measure appear that was supposed to go to funding of libraries. The measure was supposed to raise the budget for libraries to $48 million per year but despite that good natured taxpayers approved the budget measure the city ended up cutting the library expenditures down to $32 million annually. This is a typical case where tax hikes approved by voters never ended up going where voters thought they were going to go. This year, new ballot measures meant to correct the library budget deficiency are being proposed but these measures are likely to make matters worse.

Mom With Developmentally Disabled Baby Scolded for Not Aborting Him

Christian’s mom and dad were devastated when doctors told them that their baby was bound to have severe disabilities upon birth. True to the prediction he did, but mom and dad loved their baby boy regardless. But that love didn’t stop a woman from calling Christian’s mom a “horrible person” for not aborting him in utero.

Christian’s mom decided to make a wonderful video, titled “The Right Choice,” about her experiences. Get ready to grab some tissues with this one…

Obama’s Narcissism: The Troops are Fighting for Me, Me, Me

Obama revealed the extent of his narcissism, his outsized sense of self-regard, this week during his hasty explanation of his flip flop on the issue of gay marriage. In his ABC News interview Obama waxed poetic about those American troops that he thinks are fighting for him as opposed to fighting for their country.

During his interview, Obama told ABC News’ Robin Roberts that he feels “constrained” in war policy, but it’s what he said before that which startles for its arrogance (my bold for emphasis).

When I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.

Fighting on your behalf, Mr. President? What an amazing conceit. No, Mr. President, our soldiers are fighting for their country not for a particular president. Cesar’s troops fought for him, on “his behalf.” So did Napoleon’s. But our nation has no emperor, Mr. Obama. American troops fight for their country not its leaders or leader.

WV Dems Not Thrilled About Anti-US Energy Obama, Voted for Felon Instead

President Obama had an opponent in the West Virginia Democrat Primary and the fella did pretty well, too. Democrat Keith Judd was Obama’s primary opponent for the Democrat nomination for President on Tuesday and he garnered 40% of the cote, too. I’d say that’s pretty good for a convicted felon that is still serving time in a Texas jail, wouldn’t you?

Oh, I am not pulling your leg, dear reader. Make all the jokes you want (the first one that comes to mid is that all Democrats are criminals) but it really happened. Mr. Judd ran against Obama and got 40% of the vote.

Judd, who is serving a 210-month sentence in Texas for making threats at the University of New Mexico in 1999, ran his campaign from jail. Amusingly, since he got over 15% of the vote, he qualifies to get a delegate to the Democrat National Convention — though no one has filed to be a Judd delegate.
