Bias Du Jour: The Media Dubs Sydney Terrorist a ‘Self-Styled Cleric’ to Distance Him From Islam

-By Warner Todd Huston

As the dust is still settling around the hostage taking incident in Sydney, Australia, several things are already known. We know that the hostage taker is a Muslim terrorist. But in an effort to absolve Islam, the media is employing some rather interesting rhetoric. In order to distance this terrorist from Islam, the media is calling him a “self-styled cleric.”

On Sunday (Monday Sydney time) a gunman stormed a cafe in Sydney, one of the nation’s biggest cities in the state of New South Wales. At one point during the standoff that developed with police, the terrorist forced some of the people in the cafe to hold a black ISIS flag against the window, thereby fully describing his cause as terrorism.

The man has been identified as a Muslim named Haron Monis, a man who came to Australia from Iran for political asylum. He has a record of terrorist-like activities having been arrested in the past for harassing families of fallen Australian soldiers. Monis is a suspect in several murders in cases separate from the hostage-taking incident and he has a record of sexual assault and petty theft.

Obama Insulting Legal Immigrants By Using Their Money to Give Amnesty to Illegals

-By Warner Todd Huston

President Obama has figured a way to fund his unconstitutional amnesty plans that not only hamstrings Congress to a great degree, but it also delivers a huge insult to anyone foolish enough to try to immigrate to the USA legally.

One of the ways that Obama tried to get around the possibility that Congress might not allocate funds in the budget for his new amnesty for illegals plans is to use the fee-based fund from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Since this money in the USCIS is not amassed from taxes, Obama thinks that Congress won’t be able to remove the funding. In this way he thinks that he can keep funding his unconstitutional plans without threat from Congress. Of course, Congress CAN take away the money for the operations of the USCIS, but that isn’t too likely.

But if it isn’t tax dollars, just who pays these fees? The money in this fund is paid as fees for government services–like filing paper work, etc–by immigrants who have legally come to the USA. That’s right, Obama is insulting legal immigrants by using THEIR money to fund his amnesty for illegals.

Senate Defense Bill Allows Obama to Steal Hundreds of Thousands of Acres of Land From Western States

-By Warner Todd Huston

Instead of concerning itself with our national defense, the new Senate National Defense Authorization Act provides for the federal government to steal millions of acres of land from western states like Montana.

The defense bill was passed on Friday allows for $585 billion in discretionary spending by the Pentagon as well as affording $63.7 billion in overseas contingency operations funding. But it also includes 70 different public land grabs.

The new provisions designate an additional 250,000 acres of land to be property of the federal government. This is the biggest land grab since Obama’s last land grab in 2009.

Whiney Harvard #Ferguson Protesters Mad They Were Ignored By Primal Scream Streakers

-By Warner Todd Huston

I think this has to be the funniest recent story highlighting the foolishness on the campuses of our universities. On Thursday a group of “silent” protesters got in a war of words with naked-run “primal scream” participants at Harvard. The Ferguson protesters were upset that the primal screamers were ignoring them and refusing to join in with their “moment of silence” so they began to scold and whine to the primal screamers, all to no avail.

Firstly, the so-called primal scream run has become an annual event where naked and half naked students streak about the campus in a raucous display of frivolousness that passes for “fun” at Harvard. It is a wild event that has no sense of decorum or maturity.

This is the event that Ferguson protesters foolishly thought they could tame. This is the sort of craziness that Harvard’s myriad of white folks protesting Ferguson thought they could interrupt with a moment of silence.

Arrogant Joe Biden Lectures Victim of Islam About the ‘Religion of Peace’

-By Warner Todd Huston

This really takes the cake. In a new interview Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a woman who suffered under Islam until she was a young adult, reported that she was was lectured on how wonderful Islam is by Vice President Joe Biden. That’s right, Biden thought he knew more about how women are treated under Islam than a woman who actually lived under Islam.

This is the arrogance of a heartless liberal.

If you don’t know her, Ayaan Hirsi Ali lived as a slave under Islam all her childhood, had her genitals mutilated by Muslims, and eventually escaped Islam to the west where she has become an advocate for Muslim women around the world trying to help them defeat genital mutilation, rape, slavery, beatings, honor killings, and the other abuses that Muslim women suffer every single day in every corner of the world (including the USA).

With Topinka Gone, How Will Illinois Replace its Comptroller?

-By Warner Todd Huston

With the passing of Illinois State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, the state is faced with a bit of a dilemma. How should she be replaced?

After a lifetime of service to the state, Topinka passed away at the age of 70 from the effects of a stroke suffered last week. She was serving her second term as state comptroller to which she was just re-elected this year.

But her passing comes at an inconvenient time for state government as the current governor has only a month to go in his final term and the next governor is from the opposing party.

The New Budget Bill: Still Funds Obamacare, Still Bans Abortion Spending, Still Bans Internet Taxes

-By Warner Todd Huston

The New nine-month budget bill called the CR/Omnibus spending bill is a $1.01 trillion spending bill that is over one thousand pages thick. But it takes care of spending for most of 2015 and one has to wonder why the Republicans pushed a spending bill that will prevent them from affecting spending for most of the entire first year they will be in control?

It is absurd that the GOP didn’t push a continuing resolution that only tides the government over for a few short months because next year the GOP will be in full control of both houses of Congress. Yet, the GOP was not just *sighing* and agreeing with this nine-month spending bill, GOP leadership was pushing it. This is a bill that will cut the GOP out from having any influence on spending for most of their first year they are in control.

Still, many of the hundreds of policy riders–little bits of instruction that affects spending–are good for the conservatives. Of course, some will upset Democrats and some Republicans.

Anyway, here are some of the riders of interest in the new budget bill (in no particular order):

Obamacare Fully Funded

The bill fully funds Obamacare, though it does put a limit to any growth in spending and cuts the budget by $10 million for the “death panel” board called the Independent Payment Advisory Board. It also does not give the IRS any new funding so that the taxing agency can implement the Affordable Care Act.

Clean Water Act

In a victory for farmers, the spending bill will prevent the EPA from taking upon itself the power to regulate farm ponds and ditch water. This is also a victory for Republicans–not to mention the country!

EPA Funding Cut

Speaking of the EPA, its budget was cut by $60 million over last year’s budget. The EPA will get $8.1 billion. This is another decrease. Since 2010 the agency has lost 21 percent of its budget.

No Pot Legalization for Washington DC

The City Council of the District of Columbia will be prohibited from legalizing marijuana and will be forced to hew to the federal ban on pot. On the other hand, federal drug enforcement agencies and law groups will be prevented from interfering in state-based pot industries.

WI Police Chief Demands Citizens Allow Cops to Roam Through Homes Looking for Guns

-By Warner Todd Huston

Hear that pounding at your door? It is the Beloit, Wisconsin, police chief demanding that you allow him and his jackbooted thug officers to roam through your house looking for guns. Seriously. That is what Chief Norm Jacobs wants citizens of his town to allow.

This has to be one of the most un-American ideas imaginable. To allow government thugs to freely roam through your home looking for something that under the Constitution you are allowed to have in the first place is a bad, bad idea.

But not only is Chief Jacobs a promulgator of anti-American policies, he is also a screeching purveyor of hyperbole. In his address to the city, he said guns were *just like* Ebola.

“Gun violence is as serious as the Ebola virus is being represented in the media, and we should fight it using the tools that we’ve learned from our health providers,” the chief said last week.

Hear that, America? Chief Jacobs thinks your Second Amendment rights is like a virus. If that isn’t a perfect example of the way leftists think there is no better example.

Taxpayer Paid Professor Forces Students to Recite Faux ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ That Mocks USA & Republicans

-By Warner Todd Huston

A taxpayer paid professor in Denver is forcing students to recite a satirical version of the pledge of allegiance that attacks the United States for targeting blacks and women and says that Republicans are homophobic and against “the poor.”

Dr. Charles Angeletti, is a self-proclaimed atheist and socialist professor of American Civilization at the publicly funded Denver university, CampusReform.com reports. This communist “required students recite the satirical Pledge of Allegiance during the fall 2014 semester.”

The fake pledge is as follows:

“I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States
Against Anything Un-American and to the Republicans for which it stands,
two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and
justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions,
Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants,
children of illegal immigrants, and you if you don’t watch your step.”

The professor distributed this faux pledge to every student and demanded that they recite it in his classroom.

Steven Farr, an MSU freshman majoring in Meteorology, reports that this “teacher’s” class was wall to wall condemnation of the United States and that the “teacher” offered no other view other than anti-Americanism.

Other students have also noted that this “teacher” coddles liberals but viciously attacks anyone who differs with his opinion of hatred for the country.

Firstly, no one who is an avowed communist should even be allowed to teach American civilization. Communism is antithetical to America in every single way, so having a teacher with a personal ideology that hates everything that is American must–not will, not can, not might, must–burden students with a biased view of that history. It is simply impossible for someone to have an ideology built on hate of his subject to teach that subject without negative bias infusing every aspect of his instruction.

Secondly, a class on any sort of civilization–whether it be European, Roman, Western, Eastern, or what have you–should not be a biased class in any direction. It should be a straight recitation of the history of that society. It must be up to students to decide what value to confer on that group and that group’s history.

This professor is not a teacher. He is a hater attempting to force students to accept his outlandish and hate-filled opinions as fact. He is not “teaching” he is attempting to indoctrinate. He should be fired because he is failing to teach and not through mere incompetence, at that. He has set himself up as an enemy of the United States and is trying to cajole students into developing a similar enmity.

Stormtrooper Austin Police Chief Wants Citizens to Inform On ‘Gun Enthusiasts’

-By Warner Todd Huston

The police Chief of Austin, the most left-wing city in Texas, is demanding that citizens tell police if they have a friend, neighbor or family member who loves guns. You read that right. Just like in Soviet times when the KGB demanded that people inform on each other, this officer of the law is demanding that citizens snitch on anyone that owns a gun so police can create some sort of hit list of gun owners in the city.

In a December 1 press conference, Acevedo said that it was his job to “vet” people who own guns. Apparently, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo thinks it is his job to go door to door to assess whether citizens should be allowed to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

During the presser, the chief said the following:

Dubbing themselves “Cities United for Immigration Action,” mayors from such cities as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Atlanta, Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia plan to hold a meeting in New York next Sunday and Monday to discuss ways to help Obama deliver amnesty to millions of illegals.

The group claims it stands for “welcoming and inclusive cities that prosper, and the president’s action on immigration will help.”

On its website, the group claims that amnesty will “strengthen our cities.”

15,000 Wisconsin Teachers Tell Union to Get Lost

-By Warner Todd Huston

Unions are having a tough time of it in Wisconsin of late. Since Governor Scott Walker saved the state budget with his new union rules and since he gave workers a choice, Wisconsin’s teachers unions have been in steep decline and this year’s certification vote was further proof that workers don’t want unions.

Under Act 10 in Wisconsin, it is now the law that teachers unions have to be re-certified each year and to be recognized as a bargaining unit the unions must get 51% support from members.

Since Act 10, unions have found that members are very, very unhappy to be part of their organization and thousands of teachers are opting out. This year, nearly 15,000 public employee union members refused to vote for their union, and 25 more unions were decertified by a vote. That is 100 fewer unions than last year even applied for re-certification.

This brings the number of Wisconsin teachers unions to 285 state wide, down from 408 last year.

With “friends” like Pope Francis, who needs enemies? Now the Pope notorious for his Marxist rhetoric is essentially saying that Christian “fundamentalists” are somehow just like Islamist terrorists. This guy is a disaster for Catholics and the west.

During an address last weekend, Pope Francis said that equating Islam with it worst, most violent members is unfair. Then he went on to downplay Islamist terror by saying that Christians have their fundamentalists, too–as if Islamist terrorists and Christian hardliners are exactly the same.

Francis said that calling terrorists Muslim was a mistake because not all Muslims are terrorists.

The Wide Diversity in the GOP’s 2014 Freshmen Class

-By Warner Todd Huston

A few days ago I noted that an American Indian got elected to the state legislature in Montana as a Republican. But the fact is, the 2014 GOP freshman field was more diverse than ever and many of those candidates won their elections. Minorities took seats as Republicans from coast to coast.

In Montana, G. Bruce Meyers, a member of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe and a Republican, took a seat in the State House and took it away from the Democrats who have held that seat for decades and decades.

But Meyers isn’t alone. A recent New York Times report notes that the GOP took control of 69 of the 99 statehouse chambers (both House and Senates) this year and many of these new and returning Republicans are minorities.

Ferguson Protests From Coast to Coast, Will They Effect ‘Change’?

-By Warner Todd Huston

On Saturday, Nov. 29, some five days after a grand jury decided not to indict a Ferguson policeman for murder, a group of 100 people gathered to walk from Ferguson, Missouri to the state capital in Jefferson City to protest the grand jury decision. In the last week protests across the nation echoed the discontent seen in Ferguson. But as these protests now seem to be winding down, what did they accomplish?

Early in August when a white police officer shot an unarmed black teenager after the teen had committed a strong-arm robbery of a local convenience store, many activists thought they had the perfect cause for protest. But protests quickly devolved into riots and police responded with force giving protesters even more to gripe about.

Months later a grand jury meeting to decide if that police officer had acted in a criminal manner decided not to indict him sparking further riots and protests in Ferguson.

Ferguson wasn’t the only place that sponsored protests in support of Michael Brown, the teen shot in early August. Protests occurred all across the country from California, Indiana, and Texas, to Illinois, Boston, and New York.

American Indian Wins Montana State Rep. Seat… As a Small Government Republican

-By Warner Todd Huston

He didn’t think he had a chance to beat a Democrat incumbent, but G. Bruce Meyers won a seat in the Montana state legislature anyway surprising many, even himself.

Even more surprising he won his seat running as a Republican in stark contrast to the conventional wisdom that Republicans can neither win in the 32nd District, nor be an American Indian.

Meyers, who grew up on the reservation and is a member of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe, ran against Democratic state Rep. Clarena Brockie of Harlem and beat her by 172 votes. Brockie is a member of the Fort Belknap Indian Community.

Brockie, who only ended up getting one term, beat long-time incumbent, Democrat Tony Belcourt who ended up being accused of embezzlement last year. Belcourt us also a native American.

Now, after years of typical, big government liberals in the 32nd seat, the voters gave a small government Republican the nod.

Even NYT Notes That Voter ID Laws DO NOT ‘Suppress’ Minority Voters

-By Warner Todd Huston

The left is all balled up in knots over the false claim that voter ID laws are meant specifically to “suppress” the vote of minorities and to swing elections to the GOP. This is a lie. And even The New York Times essentially agrees that this is a lie.

Firstly, the point of voter ID laws is not to “suppress” anything other than illegal votes. If a white guy is not properly registered and goes to the polling place without a valid ID, he shouldn’t vote any more than an African American or an Hispanic.

Now, the argument the loony left makes to “prove” that voter ID laws affect only minorities is that, according to these loons, liberal minorities are too stupid to figure out how to get an approved ID so that they can vote and will therefore be denied the right to vote.

They claim that they have “studies” that prove that many states have hundreds of thousands of minorities who lack the proper ID and so are being disenfranchised by voter ID laws.

But now even Nate Cohn from The New York Times proves that this claim is bunkum.

Happy Thanksgiving 2014

As we all take the day off to be with family and friends, let us also remember to pray for and thank those Americans overseas in dangerous lands who cannot be home for the holiday.

May you all have a wonderful, relaxing day filled with the comfort of friends and family.

Also, please do take some time to look over our past work in the archives her at Publius. In the meantime, God bless you and have a Happy Thanksgiving and see you tomorrow. And we are thankful for your readership.

Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation, 1863

During the Civil War, both presidents, Lincoln and Jeff Davis, issued Thanksgiving Day proclamations and celebration of the holiday as we know it grew as a result.

We all know about the famed Pilgrims who feasted with the local Indians in 1621, but after that the holiday was only observed once in a while. When he was the general commanding the American forces during the Revolution, George Washington issued a Thanksgiving proclamation in December of 1777. After the war, in 1789, he did so once again. Then, as President, John Adams also issued proclamations for two of his four years in the highest office of the land. But after that it was more or less a forgotten idea.

It wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of a great war, that President Lincoln revived the tradition. The northern president wasn’t the only one to do this during the war, though. President Jefferson Davis had issued his Thanksgiving Day proclamation a year earlier, in 1862. Jefferson’s idea of Thanksgiving was a bit different than the one we think of today. The southern President had declared that the south’s observance would be a day of fasting and reflection, not feasting and revelry.

Of course, the holiday we are familiar with is connected to Lincoln’s proclamation. But, apparently the proclamation was not all Lincoln’s idea. It wasn’t just the war that spurred Lincoln to issue his proclamation, but a letter from a woman named Sarah Hale that convinced him to do so. Hale, the writer of the poem now called “Mary Had A Little Lamb,” had been trying to convince presidents to issue a Thanksgiving proclamation since 1846 and when Lincoln saw her letter he decided to follow her suggestion.

From there our formal national holiday was born.

President Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Thanksgiving Proclamation:

The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

Pres. John Adams Thanksgiving: A Proclamation Recommending a National Day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer

Delivered March 6, 1799 by President John Adams

As no truth is more clearly taught in the Volume of Inspiration, nor any more fully demonstrated by the experience of all ages, than that a deep sense and a due acknowledgment of the governing providence of a Supreme Being and of the accountableness of men to Him as the searcher of hearts and righteous distributer of rewards and punishments are conducive equally to the happiness and rectitude of individuals and to the well-being of communities; as it is also most reasonable in itself that men who are made capable of social acts and relations, who owe their improvements to the social state, and who derive their enjoyments from it, should, as a society, make their acknowledgments of dependence and obligation to Him who hath endowed them with these capacities and elevated them in the scale of existence by these distinctions; as it is likewise a plain dictate of duty and a strong sentiment of nature that in circumstances of great urgency and seasons of imminent danger earnest and particular supplications should be made to Him who is able to defend or to destroy; as, moreover, the most precious interests of the people of the United States are still held in jeopardy by the hostile designs and insidious acts of a foreign nation, as well as by the dissemination among them of those principles, subversive of the foundations of all religious, moral, and social obligations, that have produced incalculable mischief and misery in other countries; and as, in fine, the observance of special seasons for public religious solemnities is happily calculated to avert the evils which we ought to deprecate and to excite to the performance of the duties which we ought to discharge by calling and fixing the attention of the people at large to the momentous truths already recited, by affording opportunity to teach and inculcate them by animating devotion and giving to it the character of a national act:

For these reasons I have thought proper to recommend, and I do hereby recommend accordingly, that Thursday, the 25th day of April next, be observed throughout the United States of America as a day of solemn humiliation, fasting, and prayer; that the citizens on that day abstain as far as may be from their secular occupations, devote the time to the sacred duties of religion in public and in private; that they call to mind our numerous offenses against the Most High God, confess them before Him with the sincerest penitence, implore His pardoning mercy, through the Great Mediator and Redeemer, for our past transgressions, and that through the grace of His Holy Spirit we may be disposed and enabled to yield a more suitable obedience to His righteous requisitions in time to come; that He would interpose to arrest the progress of that impiety and licentiousness in principle and practice so offensive to Himself and so ruinous to mankind; that He would make us deeply sensible that “righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people;” that He would turn us from our transgressions and turn His displeasure from us; that He would withhold us from unreasonable discontent, from disunion, faction, sedition, and insurrection; that He would preserve our country from the desolating sword; that He would save our cities and towns from a repetition of those awful pestilential visitations under which they have lately suffered so severely, and that the health of our inhabitants generally may be precious in His sight; that He would favor us with fruitful seasons and so bless the labors of the husbandman as that there may be food in abundance for man and beast; that He would prosper our commerce, manufactures, and fisheries, and give success to the people in all their lawful industry and enterprise; that He would smile on our colleges, academies, schools, and seminaries of learning, and make them nurseries of sound science, morals, and religion; that He would bless all magistrates, from the highest to the lowest, give them the true spirit of their station, make them a terror to evil doers and a praise to them that do well; that He would preside over the councils of the nation at this critical period, enlighten them to a just discernment of the public interest, and save them from mistake, division, and discord; that He would make succeed our preparations for defense and bless our armaments by land and by sea; that He would put an end to the effusion of human blood and the accumulation of human misery among the contending nations of the earth by disposing them to justice, to equity, to benevolence, and to peace; and that he would extend the blessings of knowledge, of true liberty, and of pure and undefiled religion throughout the world.

And I do also recommend that with these acts of humiliation, penitence, and prayer fervent thanksgiving to the Author of All Good be united for the countless favors which He is still continuing to the people of the United States, and which render their condition as a nation eminently happy when compared with the lot of others.

Given etc.

JOHN ADAMS

A Thanksgiving Proclamation in George Washington’s Own Words

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation, October 3, 1789

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor — and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be — That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks — for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation — for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war — for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed — for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted — for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

[sic] and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions — to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually — to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed — to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord — To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us — and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Obama Just Gave Employers a $3,000 Incentive to Hire Illegals Over Real Americans

-By Warner Todd Huston

The United States has been suffering through the worst jobs climate in recent memory with millions of Americans unable to find work and just giving up looking. Now, things are going to get worse because with his massive, unconstitutional amnesty, Obama just gave employers a big incentive to hire illegals instead of real Americans.

According to The Washington Times, Obama’s illicit amnesty will hand employers a $3,000 incentive to hire illegals over American citizens.

How did the paper figure this? It’s because of Obamacare, naturally.

You Built This, Mr. President, Ferguson is all That is Wrong With Democrats

-By Warner Todd Huston

The pointless and illicit rioting in Ferguson, Missouri is a perfect example of all that is wrong with the Democrat Party, the unavoidable end game of that party’s actions, and proof of the illegitimacy of everything Democrats do to win elections.

Democrats win elections by lying to blacks and telling them that they are still living in the 1930s where it concerns race relations in America. The Democrat Party lies to blacks telling them Jim Crow is still in force, that blacks have made no progress, that they are oppressed every day and all their personal failures are the fault of others–namely “those white devils.”

Democrats then promise to give blacks freebies to make amends for the purported conditions under which they are supposed to suffer in order to get their vote.

And it works, too. Blacks vote in the 90 percent range for Democrats.

On Ferguson I Was Right No Indictment, Updated With Testimony

-By Warner Todd Huston

On August 20 I noted that Officer Wilson was certainly innocent and shouldn’t be indicted for murder. Last night the grand jury in St. Louis County, Missouri validated my two-month-old presumptions. So, here is a re-post of my Aug. 20 points along with the actual grand jury testimony added at the bottom to contrast what I said two months ago.

I held off on writing a whole lot about Ferguson for the reason that I had no idea what happened and for many days there was no way to determine anything. But now it is beginning to look like the cop is innocent of “murder,” that teenager Michael Brown was a thug, and that the protesters are all 100% in the wrong.

New reports are finally making their way out of the morass in Ferguson and revealing that police officer Darren Wilson was attacked through his cruiser window by the hulking, thuggish Michael Brown who may have struggled with the smaller officer for control of his service pistol.

There is also new evidence that the police have upwards to a dozen witnesses who substantiate the officer’s version of events.

Today evidence was reported that officer Wilson suffered a broken eye socket in the incident which substantiates that Brown did attack him.

Dana Perino Wrongly Claims Obama ‘Has The Prosecutorial Discretion’ To Issue His Amnesty

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of the claims that the left is erroneously using to justify Obama’s new amnesty policy is that he has the “prosecutorial discretion” to do what he is doing and on Thursday Fox News’ Dana Perino agreed with the left that Obama does, indeed, have that power.

Perino appeared on the November 20 edition of Fox News’ The Five where she insisted that Obama does have the power to issue his amnesty. But she also noted that it was “strange” that the first major thing that Obama did after the elections was to “poison the well” with his amnesty policy even after he claimed that the midterms meant that voters want Democrats and Republicans to work together.

Perino went on to claim that Obama has neatly boxed in his Republican opponents because they will not be able to quickly settle the constitutional legality of Obama’s order nor will they be able to easily tell five million suddenly legal immigrants that they actually aren’t legal.
