Last month I noted that the Illinois state legislature is still pushing yet another tax to bedevil its already over taxed citizenry with the plan to push a tax on satellite TV providers. That plan has not abated.Unfortunately, it is just another example of Illinois burdening it citizens because of the failure of the politicians.

CNN Host Calls Terrorist Who Attacked Dallas Police ‘Very Courageous and Brave’

Are you a domestic terrorist who, for whatever reason, decide to plant homemade bombs and then lay in wait outside a Dallas police station to kill cops? Well if you are you have a big fan on CNN. Lucky for you there’s an on air talent who says that you are “very courageous and brave” to try and kill cops. Thanks for revealing yourself, CNN’s Fredericka Whitfield.

Whitfield hit the air Saturday morning after the terrorist attacked police and was then killed for his effort. She was simply awed by the “brave” work of wacko James Boulware who perpetrated the attack and was later taken out by the Dallas police.

For CNN’s Whitfield, Boulware’s fine, fine work as “was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters.”

Several folks on Twitter were mystified if not outright outraged by the CNN anchor’s decision to define this nutjob as “brave.”

In any case, now we have CNN lining up firmly with cop killers, eh? So, we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.

Through early 2010, my best friend, Mahir, was undergoing another round of treatment for alcoholism.  He struggled with his illness for the eleven years I had known him, and suffered blood alcohol poisoning twice during that time.

He was a phenomenally talented drummer, and it was in that capacity that I first came to know him, as the drummer for my band.  He did things I saw no other drummer do, such as leaning into one drum with a stick to increase the head tension, changing the pitch, while striking the drum with the other stick— all on the fly in the middle of a fill.  He liked Buddy Rich and Phil Collins.

Mid-March of that year saw him in treatment once again, and on a day when we had made arrangements for me to come visit him at the rehab center that evening, he showed up at my door in the afternoon, drunk.  He had no insurance, and so was discharged early, as that facility is known to be in the habit of doing with uninsured patients.  He denied drinking, though he was obviously drunk, was asking to borrow some money, and wanted me to give him a ride to meet a couple of other fellows, friends of a friend (a direct descendant of the first settler in the town), who were looking for a new roomie, as they had recently lost a roommate, and were less than pleased at the prospect of increased expenses.

Spokane NAACP Leader Lied About Her Race on City Job Application, Turns Out She’s White!

The City of Spokane, Washington is now reporting that the local head of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)–who for years has claimed to be a black woman–lied about her race on her application to serve on the citizen police ombudsman commission. She claimed she is black, but now her parents and official records have come forward to show she is actually a white woman.

Rachel Dolezal serves as the chair of the city’s citizen watchdog commission but she is also an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Washington University and president of Spokane’s NAACP local chapter. For years she has told people she’s black.

Now we find she lied about her race on her official application which city officials say is a violation of the city’s ethics codes.

On her application to serve on the commission, she identified herself as African-American. But public records, including Dolezal’s own birth certificate, list her biological parents as Ruthanne and Lawrence Dolezal of Montana. The Dolezals told KXLY Thursday that Rachel is their biological daughter and that they are both white.

“We are committed to independent citizen oversight and take very seriously the concerns raised regarding the chair of the independent citizen police ombudsman commission,” Mayor David Condon and City Council President Ben Stuckart said it a joint statement Thursday. “We are gathering facts to determine if any city policies related to volunteer boards and commissions have been violated. That information will be reviewed by the City Council, which has oversight of city boards and commissions.”

She married a black man and has pretended to be black herself for quite some time.

This is one of my preeminent examples of why there should never, ever be such a thing as a union for a government employee–ANY government employee. A teachers union in Colorado has been caught red handed using tax money to fund a campaign to urge lawmakers to raise taxes.

This is the single best reason to be rid of government employee unions. The fact is, they are entirely un-democratic and blatantly un-American.

The story comes to us form ColoradoPeakPolitics, but it is a tale that could just as easily come from New York, Illinois, or any other state bedeviled with grasping, anti-American public employee unions.

For Some Reason the Media Goes Ga Ga Over Woman Who Wants to Start an Auto Repair Shop

I must admit that I have some mixed emotions about this story of a woman who saw that other women didn’t have their own auto repair shops, so she decided to start one. There are several ways to think about the tale, granted, but none of them seem to rise to the need for a big splashy national news story on her business proposal.

So, the big deal story is offered to us by ABC News. It is the tale of entrepreneur Patrice Banks who claims that she was “dumbfounded” that there weren’t any auto repair shops run by women in her hometown of Philadelphia. So, she has triumphantly announced that she plans to open one of her own.

The news piece makes a big deal out of the fact that a woman wants to open a car repair shop. Once again it’s that whole women-empowering-women theme we are treated to.

But, after reading about her tale I feel nothing but a big dose of “so what?” coming on.

Firstly, we have to realize that this story is premature. After all, Patrice Banks is only saying she is going to open her chick friendly auto repair shop to empower all those women out there hungry for a woman-owned auto repair shop.

Secondly… well, again, SO WHAT?

Obama Cancels July 4th Celebration in Embassy so as Not to Upset Muslims

So now our first Muslim president is canceling our own national celebrations in order not to upset Muslims, so we’ve got that going for us… which is nice. This week we’ve discovered that Obama’s crew staffing the U.S. embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia cancelled its celebration of Independence Day on July 4th so it won’t make Indonesians mad at us.

The celebration of July 4th was moved to June 4th so it wouldn’t upset Muslims celebrating Ramadan this year.

Obama’s ambassador to the majority Islamic nation, Robert O. Blake (Obama appointed in 2013) also said that the month-early Jakarta celebration of our Independence Day was in part meant to celebrate “green technology.” Because, I guess we separated from England so that we could make solar cells… or something.

So, not only does an Obama appointed ambassador move around out own national holidays in an effort to appease Islamists, but he then uses the re-scheduled event to push greenism.

Yep, that sounds like an Obamaite–America hating and all.

How to Commit Bankruptcy Fraud and Get Away With It Scot-Free

By any objective standards, the federal judiciary is so wholly corrupt that, even when a person who personally planned a crime that was committed comes forward to say, “This is the crime, and this is how it was done— I know, because I personally planned it,” they remain obstinately resistant to acknowledging any manner of wrong-doing, even when presented with concrete evidence of it.

I say this not as a matter of subjective opinion, but as a verifiable fact.

You see, I’m the guy who planned it.  It was my baby.

I met a woman on the internet, a blogger, a Ms. Salois, who seemed to be all I could ever dream for.  She was an English teacher with aspirations of publication, having several chapters already written for a novel, and I, already a published author and journalist, agreed to edit some of her work, a sample of which you may find here.  She was in an abusive relationship with her husband (hint: plot complication here), an ex-Marine ex-cop (and also a former student from her English class, I was to find out later), and the two were in the process of a separation at the time we met.

She had knowledge of my background, as she assisted me in writing an updated resume.  She knew that I had a background in taxes, and that I was looking at opening a tax preparation office as a franchisee.

She began asking me about how a person might go about committing bankruptcy fraud, were one so inclined, a series of question and answer sessions spanning some four weeks through late April to mid-May of 2007.  I was uncomfortable with how she would return to the subject repeatedly, and asked if this was some sort of plot device for a story, which she assured me it was.  I believed because I wanted to believe— I did not want to consider the alternative at length.

Liberals love to say that family members of their candidates should be “off limits” for attacks in an election. Despite this claim, The New York Times set its sights on Florida Senator and GOP candidate for President Marco Rubio and his wife because they have a few traffic infractions.

In a bizarre Friday expose, the Times breathlessly reported that Marco and his wife have a combined “17 traffic infractions” and said that the Senator and his wife have “shown a tendency to be in a rush on the road.”

In light of the blockbuster book “Clinton Cash,” we have a Democrat presidential candidate who is under suspicion of giving favors to foreign countries–some of them enemies to the USA–in exchange for hundreds of millions in donations to her “charity.” Now, according to the “paper of record,” we have a GOP candidate in Marco Rubio who has a worrisome driving record. Quite a contrast, that.

Hastert Story is Proof Both the Media and Washington Are Broken

Dennis Hastert once let me eat his dinner on the rubber chicken circuit and that dinner story rates national coverage as much as his scandal story does. The fact is Hastert’s blackmail story doesn’t rate the massive coverage it’s getting in Illinois nor in the rest of the nation. But the coverage it is getting, though, is proof that both the media and Washington are broken.

When news broke last week that former Speaker of the House of Representatives Dennis Hastert was being indicted for making false statements to the FBI and for skirting financial reporting rules, the world stopped in the media and in Washington both.

Take, for instance, a headline today in The Hill that screams, “Hastert Questions Consume Capitol.” This is nearly a week after the news broke.

The Hill piece reveals a fascination with the story that beggars the imagination.

Another Obama Agency Says Conservatives More Dangerous Than Islamic Terrorists

Yet again President Obama and that coterie of anti-American cretins he calls his administration deems conservatives to be more dangerous and worth “watching” than Islamic terrorists. The newest attack on Americans unleashed by Obama is the announcement that the politicized Department of “Justice” is now investigating “far-right” activity on Twitter and other social media.

As The Washington Free Beacon reports, “The Justice Department’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ) awarded Michigan State University $585,719 for the study, which was praised by Eric Holder, the former attorney general, earlier this year.”

“There is currently limited knowledge of the role of technology and computer mediated communications (CMCs), such as Facebook and Twitter, in the dissemination of messages that promote extremist agendas and radicalize individuals to violence,” the NIJ grant reads. “The proposed study will address this gap through a series of qualitative and quantitative analyses of posts from various forms of CMC used by members of both the far-right and Islamic extremist movements.”

CBS Hack Bob Schieffer Admits That Old Media Establishment Leads You By The Nose

On his way out the door, long-time CBS “News” hack Bob Schieffer admitted what we on the right have known for decades, that the “news” media thinks they are the gatekeepers of what we, the people, are allowed to know.

As he ended his 24-year run Schieffer opened up about what he thought of the news biz and what he said is affirming for those who feel the media has been a corrupting force in America for decades.

Schieffer whined that journalism has changed, and in his view not for the better.

“We now don’t know where people get their news. But what we do know is that they’re bombarded with information 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the retiring anchor said on CBS This Morning. “Most of the information is wrong and some of it, wrong on purpose. It is our job, I think, in mainstream journalism to try to cut through this mall of information and tell people what we think is relevant and what they need to know about.”

Bill Nye the Liar Guy Claims ‘Science Funding’ Is In The US Constitution

Why, didn’t you know, America, that the Founders were so far reaching that they put global warming funding right in the U.S. Constitution? Well, that is what Bill Nye the not-so-sciencey guy is claiming, anyway.

The guy who plays a scientist on TV, but actually has no science degrees at all, told Vox.com that the U.S. Constitution makes provisions to fund science, so being anti-global warming means you hate the founders… or something.

Here is what Bill Nye the actor guy told Vox:

When you have people denying this basic process, and how we all got here, it’s offensive to me intellectually. And I happen to think it’s unpatriotic. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution says the government shall “promote the progress of science and useful arts.” So if you’re a politician looking to derail the progress of science, I think you’re not doing your job.

I want voters and taxpayers to recognize this. Do you really want to vote for somebody who doesn’t believe in the scientific method — and doesn’t believe that we defeated smallpox? Do you really want that person running your government?

Of course, this is all built on a lie. The U.S. Constitution says no such thing.

Once again wallowing in the hypocrisy that is liberalism, the same unions that went to the mat to support the new $15 per hour minimum wage law in Los Angeles are now demanding that the city exempt unionized companies from being forced to pay a minimum wage of $15 per hour.

The city’s union leaders were some of the loudest supporters of the new minimum wage, but now those same leaders are demanding that the L.A. City Council change the rules and exempt their own special interests from being stuck with the new wage.

Once again we see liberals insisting that everyone but them should be affected by a law they pushed.

Their excuse for the about face is that unionized businesses have already negotiated their deals and that they shouldn’t have to change them to observe the new wage law.

School Choice Finally on the Agenda in Illinois

The move for school choice is not only growing in Illinois in general but in Chicago in particular as politicians and parents both see the downward spiral of the public education system picking up speed.

With the costs of public education soaring but neither the rates of graduation nor proficiency growing accordingly, parents are desperate to find a way for their children to gain a better education.

The state is pumping millions upon millions into the bottomless pit of education and taxes are edging higher every year to support the spending habit. As an example, Illinois school district U46 (west of Chicago in the Elgin area) has $600 million in bond debt and this is just one of the nearly 700 school districts in Illinois.

So, as the system founders, many experiments have blossomed. We all know that charter schools have grown rapidly in the Chicago area, but there are other schools such as Leo Catholic High School in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood that are serving as perfect examples of school choice. Leo is a prime example of a private high school that is a wildly successful example of education at its finest.

The school is not fully supported financially by the city’s Catholic system but has since 1926 served students as an independent high school operating in what is now one of the city’s most depressed neighborhoods. The school started back when Auburn Gresham was a heavily Irish-Catholic part of the city but now serves an entirely African American student body. (Edit to note: The Archdiocese of Chicago does support Leo and has provided over $2M in direct, financial operating support for the school between 2009 and 2015, but doesn’t pay all the school’s expenses as it does the schools it has direct control over.)

The school has been such a success that for the last six years 100% of its students have been accepted into a college or university and 96 percent have gone on to pursue higher education.

On this Memorial Day, the anti-American cretins at Salon.com have proclaimed our soldiers to be “dangerous” to the nation. Why? Because spending money on our military takes money away from welfare budgets. And they are serious.

Before we even get to the stupidity in this Salon.com article, we should note that spending on the military is one of the few federal expenditures that is actually written right into the U.S. Constitution.

Welfare spending isn’t in the Constitution. Spending on the environment isn’t there. No money is specified for roads, internal improvements, or education. Neither is spending on “disaster aid.” But spending on the military is in there.

In fact, little of the spending that goes on in Washington is actually directly Constitutional. By contrast spending on the military is one of the few things that the founders made sure to provide.

But let’s give these anti-American socialists at Salon their say. Here is their argument for why “The U.S. military is a national security threat.”

The Illinois Civil War General Who Helped Create Memorial Day

A few years after the Civil War as the nation started upon its long road toward reconciliation, rebuilding, and healing the wife of one of the war’s union generals noticed the touching devotion of Confederate widows, wives and their children as each year they came together to place flowers and little flags at the graves of their fallen. Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan was so moved by the devotion she witnessed that she urged her husband, Illinois General John A. “Blackjack” Logan, to look into creating what was to become Memorial Day.

General Logan was a Senator from Illinois and eventually became a candidate for Vice President on the 1884 Republican ticket, losing to Grover Cleveland and another Illinoisan, Vice President Adlai Stevenson. But before all that Logan was instrumental in creating Decoration Day, the celebration of the nation’s war dead that eventually became Memorial Day.

The following is the general order that Logan issued in 1868.

General Orders No.11, WASHINGTON, D.C., May 5, 1868

The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

Memorial Day Special: THIS Is What American Troops Are Made Of…

To honor our troops for this year, I am going to share this story about their mettle. What follows are excerpts from remarks by Marine Lt. Gen. John F. Kelly made to the Semper Fi Society of St. Louis on November 13, 2010. While leading his platoon on a combat patrol, Kelly’s son, Marine 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly, had been killed in action four days earlier in Sangin, in southern Afghanistan. Lt. Kelly was only 29-years-old.

Democrats really know how to celebrate Memorial Day, don’t they? We get another prime example of the hate Democrats have for America with the Party’s Tweet featuring Barack Obama eating ice cream in front of a gaggle of adoring “reporters.” And the troops, you ask? What troops?

At this point, if you are a real American, about all you can muster for Democrats is contempt and this Memorial Day Tweet wholly justifies that contempt.

So, I’m guessing that when you think of Memorial Day YOU don’t think of King Barack and his adoring media. You might rather think of… oh, I don’t know… maybe our soldiers?

Obama Claims Anti-Semitic Iranians are Just Being ‘Rational’

Obama has now decided that being a wild-eyed hater of Jews is a “rational” action and that the Iranian’s hate for Jews doesn’t make them bad people. How can Jews still support Obama?

In discussing his foreign policy ideas concerning Iran getting a nuke, Obama once again had harsher things to say about Israel than he does about Iran despite that Iran has actually helped kill thousands of American soldiers.

Obama complained that there are “political forces” in the US that want to help give Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government a rubber stamp to do what ever it wants to do and Obama thinks that is a bad idea.

In particular, Obama wants the Israelis to end its settlement efforts. In fact, Obama insists that standing against Israel’s policy doesn’t make him anti-Jew.

On the other hand, it doesn’t seem that Obama cares too much if anyone else is anti-Jew if his next set of comments are any indication.

Disastrous Commie Pope Now Calling Murderous Palestinians ‘Angels of Peace’

Every day this disastrous commie Pope gets worse for Catholics in particular and the west in general. This time this foolish man is lauding the so-called “Palestinians” a “angels of peace.” Nothing–absolutely NOTHING–could be farther from truth than calling Palestinians “angels of peace” unless you are referring to the relative peace of death because death merchants is all they are.

This weekend Pope Francis praised murderer Mahmoud Abbas calling him an “angel of peace” in a meeting held at the Vatican on Saturday.

Abbas presented the red pope with a medallion that supposedly represents the “angel of peace destroying the bad spirit of war.”

In reply this Marxist pope told Abbas that the gift was appropriate because Abbas is “an angel of peace.”

Add this weekend’s foolishness to this pope’s decision to confer statehood on the non-existent “country” of Palestine by signing a treaty recognizing the Palestinians as a state. The announcement for the treaty was made last week, but has been neither officially drawn up, released to the church nor signed.

All this glad handing for a man who represents a terror outfit that is based on murder and genocide. This pope is calling a terrorist state an “angel of peace.”

Number of Christians Decline ‘Unaffiliated’ Rise in New Pew Religious Survey

A new poll on religious affiliation in the country shows that the number of Christians has declined while the number of people not affiliated with a religion is up.

Firstly, the new Pew Research Center poll does not suggest that the change in numbers automatically means that agnosticism or even atheism is up a commensurate amount, only that a larger number of respondents are no longer claiming to be part of a particular religion.

“The Christian share of the U.S. population is declining, while the number of U.S. adults who do not identify with any organized religion is growing,” Pew said on Tuesday.

“While the drop in Christian affiliation is particularly pronounced among young adults,” Pew continued, “it is occurring among Americans of all ages. The same trends are seen among whites, blacks and Latinos; among both college graduates and adults with only a high school education; and among women as well as men.”

As putrid Democrats continue to promulgate their lie-filled “Republican war on women” campaign theme, they sit by ignoring that the real war on women is perpetrated by Islam. Another reminder of where the real hate for women emanates is in a survey showing that fully 92 percent of married women in Egypt are forced to undergo genital mutilation.

If you are unaware of what Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is, be prepared to be horrified. Euphemistically called “female circumcision” by liberals who want to obviate what it really is, it is in fact the utter destruction of the female pleasure centers in the vagina so that a woman can never gain pleasure or have an orgasm from sexual intercourse.

Many Muslims from Africa to the Middle East think that women are disgusting beasts who should not be allowed to enjoy sex. So, to keep girls pure in the eyes of The “Prophet” Muhammad, in their pre-teen stage, these inhuman Muslims rip out a girls’ clitoris and sew herr vagina shut leaving but a small hole for urination.

You HAVE to Watch Yahoo! Screen’s SciFi Comedy ‘Other Space’

Do you like those AT&T commercials featuring the two Internet techs Frank and Charlie–one a bearded fellow and the other a wiry young Indian-American lad. If you do it is probably because of the quirky humor of Charlie who is played by Karan Soni. Well, now you have a chance to see more of Soni’s work in a fantastic new webseries from Yahoo! Screen titled, Other Space.

The webseries was introduced last month and already has 8 episodes produced. You can see Other Space only at Yahoo! Screen. Even better it is free.

Soni stars as Stewart Lipinski, the captain of a UMP Cruiser star ship who, after being given his first command, promptly launches his ship into a crack in space that throws it into another galaxy. The humor from the show comes less from your normal sort of sitcom craziness and more from the flawed characters of the crew.

TV viewers will also be immediately familiar with one of the other characters in the series: Ship’s pilot Tina Shukshin played by actress Milana Vayntrub. Though she has quite a lot of screen credits, you’ll recognize Vayntrub most as “Lily Adams ” the AT&T girl in the recent series of commercials. In fact, all the actors on the show have successful TV careers. The web series also stars Neil Casey (as Kent Woolworth), Eugene Cordero (Michael Newman), Joel Hodgson (Zalian Fletcher), Bess Rous (Karen Lipinski), Art the ship’s robot vocalized by Mystery Science Theater 3,000’s Trace Beaulieu, and Conor Leslie (as Natasha, the Ship’s computer).

Complaint Demands Christian Crosses be Removed From INSIDE Catholic School so as Not to Offend Muslims

A useful idiot named John Banzhaf who claims to be a professor at George Washington University, but really spends his time filing nuisance lawsuits on all sorts of topics, has filed a complaint against a Catholic university because the Christian cross is displayed throughout the school. This loon claims that because there are Christian crosses everywhere, why, goshdurnnit, this must offend Muslim students. So he is demanding that the crosses be removed from the school.

The buttinski prof thinks that he is being an advocate for Muslim students at Washington D.C.’s Catholic University of America. He is demanding that the Catholic school remove all its crosses because he thinks that the crosses will somehow prevent Muslims from praying to their own “god.”

Now, the thing is, not a single Muslim student at CUA has ever complained. None of them have said that their own Muslim faith is somehow oppressed by having Christian crosses displayed inside a Christian school. But professor Banzhaf thinks he knows better.

How this halfwitted “professor” can imagine that Muslims can have their religion oppressed with displays of Christian crosses inside a Christian school, but that a lack of crosses won’t harm the Christians’ religious expression is a mystery to any logical, thinking person.

Here is the inescapable logic that this foolish “professor” can’t seem to grasp: He wants all Christian crosses removed, right? So, he obviously thinks that a lack of crosses won’t hurt the Christian students and their expression of faith.

So, with his “logic,” a lack of symbols of religion means religion is still easily practiced.

But think of this: there is already a lack of Muslim symbols in this school. And here is the thing: if Christians can pray to God without crosses being present, how is it that Muslims can’t pray to their Allah if symbols of their religion aren’t present.

He is essentially attacking a problem that doesn’t exist.

Worse, this Banzhaf character seems think that Muslims are so stupid that they can’t figure out how to pray to their “god” if there are symbols that are not of their faith present in any given room?

He has just infantilized Muslims.

I’m not alone in think this Banzhaf guy is a jerk.
