CNN Blames Shattered Marriages on AshleyMadison Hackers, Not The Cheaters

-By Warner Todd Huston

The hack of the membership list of the sex cheater site AshleyMadison.com has set off a series of divorces as husbands and/or wives enter their spouse’s email addresses into the search tool of the exposed database. But these ending marriages isn’t the fault of “hackers,” like CNN claims in its August 21 piece. It is the fault of the cheaters.

Like most liberals, the lefties at CNN have no moral compass. We see a prime example of that in CNN’s Friday piece on the AshleyMadison hack entitled, “The Ashley Madison Hack Ruined My Life.”

The first two lines of that piece reads thus:

The Ashley Madison hack is indeed ripping apart marriages.

It’s exposing affairs, confirming suspicions, and keeping cheaters up at night in cold sweats.

This is actually backwards but the immoral CNN doesn’t see it.

The hack certainly did expose millions of cheaters. But the hack itself did not cause the divorces. While perhaps being an additional imputes, but it was the cheating that caused the end of the marriage, not the hack.

The website that was hacked, AshleyMadison.com, has been under fire since its founding. The site caters to people who want to cheat on their spouses and want an easy way to do it. Members are linked with other members who want to cheat on their spouse and gives the couple the opportunity to arrange a tryst.

But early this month the site was informed by hackers that they had broken into the company’s membership data base and stolen all its member’s personal information including credit card numbers, names and email addresses. The hackers then threatened to release the data and expose the cheaters unless they shut the site down.

AshleyMadison’s operatives, of course, refused to turn off the site. So, the hackers did what they warned they’d do and released the information.

This hack has exposed millions of cheaters prompting CNN’s story.

The CNN story discusses the personal stories of several cheaters whose lives have now been turned upside down by the release if the info.

But, in the end, it isn’t the hack that is the true problem, here. The real problem is the fact that these people began cheating in the first place. The hack just exposed their cheating to the world.

Leave it to the liberal media not to understand where the true moral fault lies.
