Report: May 12, 2010 Sarah Palin In Chicago

-By Warner Todd Huston

In the deep blue sea of the People’s Republic of Chicagoland, Sarah Palin shined like a light of liberty among the darkness of Mayor Richard “King” Daley’s perverse domain. Palin brought hope into the home of President Obama’s cynical “Chicago Way” style of politics, and I was there to witness the May 12 show.

Sarah Palin was her usual effervescent self, upbeat and positive about this great country and happy to appear before us. She reveled in her “aw shucks” persona built from regular Americana, a style that has made her dear to the hearts of so many Americans from coast to coast.

The show started with a little patter between Big John Howell and Amy Jacobson, the morning radio talkers from Chicago’s WIND AM. One of John Howell’s musician buddies performed a few songs for us and I have to say he was pleasant to listen to. Finally, just before the Governor addressed us, the ever avuncular and impressive Guy Benson — who has a Sunday evening show on WIND — entertained us with some political humor.

Then, when the giant curtains parted to reveal the governor, the applause was almost deafening so the evening started with an electric jolt. She immediately asked all U.S. military veterans to stand for recognition to a huge round of applause for her recognition and for ours of our vets.

One of the early things that Governor Palin brought up was this idiotic business of Highland Park High School whose administrators suddenly canceled its girls basketball team trip to Arizona. The team had won the right to play in a tournament for the first time in 26 years. Why was it canceled? Only because the tournament is in Arizona and school administrators are mad at the state. Disgustingly, these school chiefs are using these girls to advance their own political agenda. Palin was amazed that this school was ignorant enough to say Arizona is not a worthy place for their girls to visit yet the school is still sponsoring a trip to China! “Do you know how girls are treated in China,” Palin asked. Then to great applause she suggested that those girls might have to “go rogue.”

Burqa Mentality in the Blue Ridge

-By John Armor

I read, and I write for, the Highlands Newspaper, a weekly paper with a modest circulation. The Editor, also my editor, is Kim Lewicki. She ran an article in last week’s issue that was excellently written and edited, and worthy of sharing with my national audience.

The week before, Erika Olvera, a former Police Officer in this town, filed an EEOC Complaint against the Town of Highlands. Our experience with Officer Olvera was limited, but we found her to be diligent and capable. She worked for the Town for two years. She is a naturalized American from Mexico, who has lived in this area for about 20 years.

About six months after she was employed by the Police Department, a nasty rumor circulated that she had had an affair with Police Chief Bill Harrell. (In a small town, everyone hears everything.) I said at the time the rumor may have nothing to do with her, but may be an effort by one of the other officers to undermine the Chief. Suffice to say, Bill Harrell is married.

Oppressive Government: Feds Tell GA Old Folks They Can’t Pray Before Meals

-By Warner Todd Huston

Big Brother says elderly visitors to federally funded meals at a Georgia senior citizen’s center aren’t allowed to pray to that absurd, dangerous Christian God of theirs. Obama’s Big Brother government contends that since it has paid for their meals the government has the right to slam its iron boot heel down on the necks of those seasoned citizens that dare to engage in such an apostasy toward the state.

Seem absurd? Well it is but that is what happens when the feds roll into town and begin to hand out money. They feel the right to dictate what everyone is allowed or not allowed to do and in the case of Port Wentworth’s Ed Young Senior Citizens Center near Savannah that is to tell these old folks that they are not allowed to pray before a meal.

Religion Invoked To Coax America’s Cultural Surrender

-By Frederick Meekins

The March 2010 issue of Sojourners Magazine pictured on its cover an adorable Hispanic child with a caption next to the photograph reading “Citizen or Criminal”. Inside the issue were a number of articles expositing how Christians are obligated to basically surrender America to outsiders, most of whom defended by the magazine have no standing to be in the United States to begin with.

For example, one pullout quote in red (no doubt playing on the conditioning that the red words in some Bibles carry more weight than the others) read, “If we are truly about family values, how can we argue for a system that separates parents from their citizen children.” Notice how the onus is placed on America rather than the Mexican government for the responsibility of family reunification or cohesion.

Almost a Thousand Major Scientists Dissent from Darwin!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

A major storm of protest against the myth of evolution has been building for many years, as proved by almost a thousand major scientists, all with doctorates who have signed on to the following statement as of 2010: “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.”

Those scientists threw down the gauntlet to evolutionists by publishing a two-page ad in a national magazine with the heading, “A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism.” Fevered, fanatical, and foolish evolutionists will charge that those dissenting scientists were backwoods yokels (maybe even a few snake handlers and flat earthers mixed in) dug up by pushy creationists to promote their cause. Not so, I have gone over the list and if certification and accreditation are so important, impressive, and indispensable, then those people will give evolutionists a perpetual heartburn. Major scientists around the world agree with them and many of them have not yet signed on to the dissent although they have gone on record that mutations and natural selection did not produce evolution. Other major scientists critical of evolution have died in the last 25 years.

WAR! Abrasive Atheists, Shallow Scholars, Silly Scientists, Pagan Preachers and Embattled Evolutionists Attack Christians!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

My new book, to be published later this year, is in the area of Christian apologetics; however, apologetics does not entail apologizing to anyone. It involves seeking to remove the obstacles from the path of the skeptics so they can be saved from a life of misery and an eternity without Hope.

Abrasive Atheists, Shallow Scholars, Silly Scientists, Pagan Preachers, and Embattled Evolutionists have declared war against Christ, Christians, and Churches. Of necessity, their major attack is on the Bible for if they can denounce, deny, distort, and denigrate it, they can win more converts to atheism. They have been waging this war for a few years and most of us have ignored their books, television interviews, university debates, and their typical dog and pony show that the most fanatical God-haters have put on for centuries. They want a fight, and while I consider them to be flies on the tail of a bull, I’m willing to take them on. No quarter asked or given.

An Analysis Of I Corinthians 15

-By Frederick Meekins

To religious progressives wanting to at least acknowledge the morality of Jesus without having to acknowledge His rightful place as the Lord of the their lives, the resurrection of the body is viewed as a disposable dogma more suited for less scientific times when the masses of humanity were less capable of comprehending the harsh realities of life. Often the believer confronts this kind of thinking in contemporary academic forums such as the Quest for the Historical Jesus and the like. However, this attempt to undermine this teaching goes back even further among beloved historical figures from the past such as Thomas Jefferson who exorcised from the pages of the Bible those passages attesting to the miraculous truth. However, by analyzing I Corinthians 15, the believer is assured that the Resurrection is perhaps the most important doctrine in the pages of Scripture.

In verse 1, Paul points out that what he is about to teach is not some new doctrine pulled out of the sky but rather a reminder of the fundamental Gospel on which believers in the church have taken their stand often without regard to earthly consequences. In verse 2, Paul makes it known that the Gospel is not just a set of intellectual propositions but rather the message through which the believer is saved if they “hold firmly to the word I have preached to you” outside of which there is no hope.

Abortionist’s Hypocrisy: Infant Survives Abortion, Found Alive 2 Days Later

-By Warner Todd Huston

Recently a baby in Italy was put through horror for his two short days of life in an incident that puts paid to the hypocrisy of those that think that an in vitro human infant is not really a human at all.

This child survived a botched abortion then was laid alone in a cold room struggling to live for 20 hours before anyone bothered to notice it survived the attempted ending of its life. His torture lasted another day before death finally arrived to claim him.

Once the baby was found still hanging onto life after “doctors” tried to kill it, the hospital made a sudden, vain attempt to bring it to health. To complete the circus atmosphere, after the child passed, police in Italy began a homicide investigation of the incident. Why? Because in Italy infanticide is illegal.

Confused? You should be.

Robocop Director: Robocop Was an ‘American Jesus’ Because he Kills People

-By Warner Todd Huston

Andrew Breitbart appeared at an awards ceremony in Chicago on Friday the 16th and one of his remarks was that Hollywood is “40 years into the left injecting bad into America.” To counter the bad, Breitbart urged us all to remind each other what is good in our great nation. As an illustration of Breitbart’s warning I give you Paul Verhoeven, the director of the 1987 film Robocop.

Verhoeven recently spoke to MTVs Josh Horowitz about the underlying symbolism of Robocop and his main conception was that the Robocop character was an “American Jesus” because his method of righting wrongs was to shoot and kill all evil doers. Robocop was judge, jury and executioner all in one and that apparently makes him an “American Jesus.”

It was Verhoeven’s contention that America is little else but a violent nation that has no interest in peace, law, and order, or diplomacy but is the quintessentially violent cowboy, self-interested, and mostly a lawless place.

In his own words, Verhoeven told MTV the following:

The Doctrine Of The Gospel

-By Thomas E. Brewton

Paul’s epistle to the Romans is historically the early church’s firmest single doctrinal statement of Christian faith.

Pastor Dan Gardner (Assembly of God Church, Cohocton, New York) opened a series of sermons exploring the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Rome. The epistle was written approximately 27 years after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, while elements of Jesus’s life and teaching were still fresh in the minds of those who lived around him and were eye witnesses to his ministry on earth.

Pastor Gardner’s text was Romans 1:1-17:

Frank Schaeffer Has Swallowed the Loony Left’s Kool-Aid!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Frank Schaeffer often speaks of Christians who teach the rapture of the saints as an end time “cult.” He declared that that “cult” and the “Fox News fantasy take on Obama and the fact he is black” was simply too much heat applied to the weak minds of the Michigan militia and the pot boiled over. There again, is Frank reading minds and throwing out verbal hand grenades, slandering good Americans. No person of character would agree that the main opposition to Obama has anything to do with his race, after all, he is not black, he is multiracial.

Calling the Left Behind phenomena “American background noise,” Schaeffer wrote, “Less innocuous symptoms include people stocking up on assault rifles and ammunition, adopting ‘Christ-centered’ home school curricula, fearing higher education, embracing rumor as fact, and learning to love hatred for the ‘other,’ as exemplified by a revived anti-immigrant racism, the murder of doctors who do abortions, and even a killing in the Holocaust Museum. And now we have a cult/militia [in Michigan] dedicated to the same idea.” From that confused, contorted, and contrived statement, it is obvious that Frank is not a clear thinker. Notice again how he mixes the good guys and bad guys in order to take an unfair, untrue, and unreasonable swipe at the good guys. None of the abortion killers have turned out to be fundamental/evangelical, Bible practicing Christians. Furthermore, no informed, thinking person says that concern about our borders is racism. Frank has swallowed the loony left’s Kool-Aid.

Maureen Dowd: A Degraded State of Intelligent Discourse

-By Warner Todd Huston

I don’t write about Maureen Dowd simply because she rarely offers anything worthy of serious, intellectual discussion. I don’t claim any sort of high intellect for myself, of course, and don’t necessarily claim to be able to thoroughly judge the work of the deepest of thinkers but Dowd’s work is like the old saying about pornography in as much as when it comes to stupid prattle I know it when I see it.

Breaking my own no-Mo-Dowd rule, though, her April 10 column must be singled out as a prime example of just how silly, inconsequential, and, well, stupid Mo Dowd really is. In it she equated Radical, oppressive, dangerous Islam to today’s Catholic Church as if they were entirely equivalent in their treatment of women. It is astonishing that she thinks that radical Islam and the modern Catholic Church is indistinguishable in the way they treat women, but there you have it, she apparently really does.

Dowd started her April 10 column relating a recent encounter she had in Saudi Arabia with a “group of educated and sophisticated young professional women.” Dowd asked her hosts how they could stand living in that oppressive Saudi culture and she wondered how such “spirited women, smart and successful on every other level, acquiesce in their own subordination?”

Frank Schaeffer Slides into Political and Religious Apostasy!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Francis Schaeffer is a pathetic figure. Son of famous, dedicated Christian leader Francis Schaeffer, he has declared his distaste for his father’s activities in the service of Christ. Frank has apostatized from his and his Father’s theology and politics as revealed in a recent television interview to promote his new book while at the same time bashing Christian authors for making gobs of money with their books! In that interview he declared that “Nobody is damned or going to Hell,” Christians are haters for being critical of abortion and gay rights; and “salvation is a journey.”

He added, “Atheism may be absolutely correct, or Buddhism may be. I could be completely wrong about theism.” Moreover, Dawkins, Hitchins, and Harris “could be right”! He declares that “Right Wing Christians” are “far more dangerous than the Dawkins [atheist] group.” Question: Why hasn’t Frank’s church brought him up on charges of heresy? Is his pastor as big a phony as he is?

“The beginning of the end of Planet Earth occurred on September 27, 1991, when President George H.W. Bush announced that the United States would withdraw its nuclear weapons from NATO sites throughout the western world if the Soviet Union would follow suit. Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev agreed and a deadline was set. The task was to be completed by May 1992. Withdrawing the tactical nuclear weapons in order to place them in secured places seemed to be a great idea that no one in his right mind could oppose. Evolutionist: A Blind Man in a Dark Room Looking for a Black that isn’t There!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

I would be delighted if my critics would refute my article “DNA in Your Body Could Reach to the Sun and Back—70 Times! Please help me see the light. I will be waiting, but I don’t expect any answers, only vulgar and incoherent blathering.

An Australian critic “responded” to my DNA article by sending me a link to an atheist website replying, “Properly (sic) refutation required? Well allow me to provide you with this information. Consider yourself refuted.” I responded: “That was a rebuttal? You’ve got to be kidding. I assume you are a smart mouth (or is it dirty mouth) 12-year-old kid. I do not “consider [myself] refuted.”

Atheists/evolutionists are pathetic. They allegedly believe in being open, balanced, fair, and logical but are the most illogical people living. I will consider myself refuted if anyone can inform me how the DNA got the information that determines whether a person will be short, tall, eye color, and whether he will have five fingers on each hand. Alternatively, I will be satisfied to know how the Universe got here without God. You know, simple things like that.

NPR’s New Abortion Terms Skews Toward Pro-Abortionists

-By Warner Todd Huston

National Public Radio has decided to change its labels for the two sides of the abortion issue. Unfortunately, its change skews the debate rhetorically in favor of the pro-abortion side by softening the fact that they are for abortion and by making of their position a “right.”

Previously, NPR was using the terms “pro-choice” and “pro-life” but a recent post by the NPR Ombudsman, Alicia Shepard, delved into the ire that the pro-abortion side wallows in over the fact that the pro-life side has “won the war of words” because they are identified as supporting life. Shepard decided that NPR should “pick more neutral terms.”

The Scandal Driving the Church Sex Scandal

-By Selwyn Duke

We’ve all heard the story. Hundreds of young sexual-abuse victims long afraid to come forward for fear of embarrassment and scorn, abusers escaping prosecution and quietly moving to different jurisdictions, authorities covering up the crimes to avoid scandal and litigation. It’s a saga of grave, grave sin.

Of course, you would assume I’m talking about the Catholic Church sexual-abuse scandal.

And you would be wrong.

I’m describing the situation in America’s schools, something that, although mirroring the problems dogging the Church, is strangely ignored.

Let’s examine the similarities using statistics from the United States. According to the John Jay Report, 10,667 people made allegations of child sexual abuse (not all were substantiated) committed by priests between 1950 and 2002; according to an AP investigation, at least 1,801 educators committed sexual misconduct involving minors between 2001 and 2005. So the per annum tally is:

Number of people making allegations against priests — 205

Tea Party Express Hits Rockford, Illinois

-By Warner Todd Huston

No posts have emerged from me today because I was away for most of the day witnessing the Tea Party Express as it rolled into rolled into Rockford, Illinois.

Rockford is situated about 90 miles west (and a bit north) of Chicago in Northern Illinois. It’s a region that has been hit particularly hard by this recession and has the highest unemployment rate in a state that has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country.

The Tea Party Express is ranging across the country in an effort to keep the Tea Party spirit alive. If you want to find out if the Tea Party Express is coming to a town near you, check out the itinerary at www.teapartyexpress.org.

The Rockford Tea Party folks had hoped to get 1,000 Illinoisans to attend their rally, but there was at least 2,000 that actually came (some say 3,000) so they most certainly met their goals. These were some great Constitution-loving Americans that were very concerned about the downward direction that their country is taking. These people were worried, of course, but all seemed buoyed by their shared fellowship in patriotism. These are all great Americans. With citizens like this, we may yet bring our nation back from the brink of the leftism that is destroying Europe… unless Obama, his regime and their co-conspirators can help it.

The pre-event was held by the Rockford Tea Party folks (www.rockfordteaparty.org). And they had a nice line-up of local Illinois pols and political folks.

Happy Easter 2010

-By Ann “Babe” Huggett

As we celebrate Easter 2010, does anyone ever stop to wonder why the combined forces of secular atheism, socialism and Islam roar and screech in their assault against Christianity? If you are a Christian conservative, you’ll be thinking at this point, “It’s because the risen Christ brought us the message of Salvation and our nation is still nominally Christian. Our freedoms are individual based and God given with therefore unalienable rights.”

If you’re a liberal/socialist, you’ll be sneering, “Easter? That’s just a pagan holiday commandeered by Rome! Look at the goddess _ostre’s symbols of rabbits and eggs! Hey! Who ate the ears off my chocolate bunny?”

If you’re an atheist, you’re grumbling about there, “…being no God, hence no meaning to Jesus – if he ever existed in the first place – and why the heck isn’t this a four day weekend like Winter Festival?”

Evolution Believed by Fools, Fanatics, and Fakers!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

My recent article titled, “DNA in Your Body Could Reach to the Sun and Back—70 Times” caused a stir in different parts of the world. I especially had unusual responses from the Canadian Free Press readers. I have never followed the results of my articles but did so because of the volume, vileness, and viciousness of responders. Those atheists/evolutionists really get angry when their religion is debunked!

One wrote, “This is the dumbest g** d*** article I’ve ever read in my life.” Well, that is his opinion but not well expressed. May I point out that he did not try to refute it? Wonder why? Could it be because he is dumb as a box of rocks? No one can tell me where and how DNA gets its information. Information must have a Source. A book does not compile itself. A computer code does not create itself. Only fools, fanatics, and fakers believe such nonsense and non-science.

Another evolutionist wrote pretending to be Jesus. “Thanks for the laugh. My dad and I are totally cracking up. Please keep in mind that my dad created science as way for you to learn what you couldn’t figure out morally. Some people just need that. Also, my dad created evolution to keep the planet going in perpetuity.” I thank the writer for his original and thoughtful message. It is good to hear from Jesus when I read the Bible; however, this is obviously not from the Bible. No doubt, the writer thinks of himself as a wit and he may be half-right. I hope he will take time to refute my article.

The New Crisis?

-By Dan Scott

Rahm Emanuel was quoted as saying “Let no crisis go to waste.” This is a corollary to the long-standing tactic of the left in America to create charges and victims out of whole cloth in order to advance their many agendas. The fake but true narrative is a time-tested formula. In the last few weeks a new crisis seems to be resurrected, that being the threat of armed and violent extremist right wing groups. I say resurrected since the initial attempt to gin up this issue flopped badly when Janet Napolitano, the head of DHS commissioned a smear campaign in a report on Right Wing Extremists written by a known left leaning group at the beginning of the Obama Presidency in 2009. Their plan tripped over it’s own two feet with over the top suggestive finger pointing (innuendo) at those who honorably served in the military. What made the Report on Right Wing Extremists even more outrageous was that it was actually distributed to police departments around the country with zero public comment beforehand. No proof was offered for their absurd accusations and furthermore, all instances of violence at that time was from the left, as it is to this very day. In fact, this odious report commissioned by Obama’s hand picked DHS leader if read literally essentially labels anyone who participates in the Tea Party movement as potential Right Wing Extremists. In 2010 we begin to see the fruit of that initial attempt this month.

It seems the liberals are ginning up the “Right Wing Extremist” activities just like Clinton did during his tenure. Recently, the MSM has been attempting to link broken windows at Representative Slaughter’s offices to the Tea Party movement, of course this is done with absolutely no proof whatsoever, but what’s new for the low journalistic standards using innuendo by the MSM? The MSM itself is the de facto propaganda arm of the Democrat Party and of the Obama Administration. The MSM conveniently fails to mention all the similar threats and activities against Republicans. This universal failure of reporting indicates a concerted effort to foist a false and misleading narrative upon the American People. We should not be surprised at this universality of (in)action by the MSM as they have regular daily teleconferences with Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s political advisor.

Still hope for the best? History tells us we’ll change for the worst!

-By Ann “Babe” Huggett

Now we know what it must have been like in 1933 for decent Germans during the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party. Ever since the unconstitutional communist coup of Obamacare passed earlier in the week, the full anger and fury of US socialists has turned on the last of the free-thinking, conservative holdouts, a.k.a. patriotic Americans. I am old enough to have seen this phenomenon in every country where post WWII socialism, in its various guises, took over.

In 2001 I wrote an editorial on what the socialists of the Labour Party in the UK would ultimately face if they continually accused concerned British citizens of parochialism, racism and bigotry when they spoke out against Labour’s gross mismanagement and malfeasance coupled with its obscene immigration policies encouraging massive and uncontrolled immigration into the UK from hostile, aggressive, alien Third World countries. I predicted that as Labour continually smeared people of good will, these same people would not only vote Labour out of office but would gravitate away from main political parties to ones that would offer them acceptance.

Trials for bin Laden? Why?

-By Warner Todd Huston

There has never been a trial of a fallen national leader that would stand up to the scrutiny of good criminal law. They have always been politically motivated, full of passion, and short on legal niceties or any observation of technical precision. Because of this, should the United States capture Usamma bin Laden, she should quickly and immediately execute him. Period. End of discussion.

From the absurd trial of Charles I by Cromwell’s Roundheads, to the Nazi trials at Nuremberg, to the Soviet Show Trials all the way to the execution of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, no political trial has been legally legitimate. Moral legitimacy is another subject, but the truth is that every one of these trials mentioned was bad on legal procedure.

Not only are these trials bad on technical law, but they set bad precedents. The Nuremberg trials, for instance, should never have happened because they emboldened those miscreants that had the idea that an “International community” could possibly have the legal power to try and convict a leader of a fallen state or deposed government.

Better that the Nazis should have been taken out back of a death camp and summarily executed as befits any fallen, evil foeman. The Romans were right. Kill those fallen leaders and move on. There is no need to justify it via some warped appeal to “the law.”

AP Conflates Fake ‘Catholic’ Group With Catholic Church

-By Warner Todd Huston

Here is one of the sneaky tricks that the Old Media plays in order to support a cause. In this case it’s the Associated Press coming to the aid of Obamacare with “news” that a “Catholic” hospital group is coming out in support of Obamacare. Of course, the AP does not inform the reader that this purported Catholic group is not associated with the Church and is not authorized to speak for Catholics but it conflates this “Catholic” group with Catholics as if they do anyway.

With a headline that screams, “Catholic Hospitals Support Health Care Bill,” the AP’s Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar reports that the Catholic Health Association has come out in support of Obamacare despite the federal funding of abortion.

Naturally this report of Catholics in support of Obamacare is meant to fool readers into thinking that the Catholic Church itself, or some important segment of Catholics, are in support of Obamacare. If all you read is the headline and the first two paragraphs you might come away thinking that “Catholic Hospitals” support Obamacare.

AP Slips in ‘Poverty’ As Reason For Nigerian Massacres

-By Warner Todd Huston

True to its fealty to left-wing, western pop psychology, the Associated Press thinks it knows one of the principle reasons why roving gangs of Muslims are hacking Christians to death and burning their villages to the ground in Nigeria: It’s “poverty.”

Liberals that struggle to understand why man is often so cruel to his fellows seem always to have assumed that poverty is a key factor in violence and crime, but rarely it is the factor that liberals assume it to be. Poverty is no picnic, but it is not the cause of crime and violence. It is more likely a symptom itself rather than a catalyst.

It’s a chicken and egg question, of course. What came first, the poverty or the crime? But the simple fact of the matter is that poverty is seen in every corner of the Earth, yet crime rates vary wildly from area to area and era to era. So, if poverty is constant and is the catalyst for crime, why doesn’t crime hold at a fairly constant rate? It seems pretty obvious that crime is not directly caused by poverty.
