In a classic example of substituting opinion for facts, Buzzfeed reported that MSNBC’s recent ratings should “make Fox News nervous.” It seems the main reason Fox should be nervous is because its featured stars and its back bench correspondents are “weak” according to Buzzfeed Politics.
For Buzzfeed, Dorsey Shaw writes that MSNBC has begun to climb the ratings ladder becoming second to Fox News and ahead of CNN in the cable race. But Shaw also notes that for the first time ever a couple of the far left-wing cabler’s shows beat Fox in the ratings game.
MSNBC’s back-to-back prime-time opinion shows, The Rachel Maddow Show and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, topped both Fox News and CNN for the coveted 25–54 demographic during the week of Dec. 3. That gives Phil Griffin’s network the number one ranking in the demo for four of the first five weeks since the presidential election. Adding to the impressive numbers is the fact that the MSNBC shows outperformed their Fox counterparts despite having guest hosts fill in for Maddow Dec. 5 through Dec. 7.
Dorsey properly reports that Fox still dominates Prime Time ratings but goes on to needle Fox for a three-year-old press release that touts its own ratings success — what that has to do with anything is anybody’s guess.

This news is certainly no surprise to anyone on the right, but a new Pew study finds that MSNBC is far more biased than Fox News.
Fox News Channel won the race during the vice presidential debate this week; the ratings race. Fox brought in more than twice as many viewers as MSNBC and CNN… combined. Not only that, but Fox even drew more viewers than each of the big three networks individually.
Many in the newsmedia are reacting with quite restraint to the revelations of comments by Obam’s racist “spiritual mentor,” Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. Imagine if this were a Republican politician linked to such outrageous talk and you’ll realize how the MSM has been studiously underplaying this controversy. A benefit of the doubt seems to be the rule of thumb for how the media is treating Obama, a benefit that would be denied a GOP candidate.

Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said in a recent interview that she had “no idea” about the political affiliation of the super PAC that is endorsing Barack Obama. Asked if the group was a Democrat group, she feigned that she didn’t know whether or not they were Democrats despite that the front man for the group, Bill Burton, was once Obama’s White House Deputy Press Secretary.
Execs at MSNBC recently attempted to refute Sean Hannity’s claim that their host Rev. Al Sharpton “rushed to judgment” in the case of George Zimmerman who was arrested in April for the shooting of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
More from President Obama, the most negative campaigner in recent presidential campaign history. This time Obama is name calling Fox News fans, saying they are “stubborn” for having the temerity to frequent the most watched cable news station on the air.
News Corp watchers have been talking about a possible split of Rupert Murdoch’s massive entertainment and publishing empire for sometime and it looks like they are finally on the right side of the guesswork as the News Corp board met on Wednesday to consider separating Murdoch’s entertainment from his publishing division.
You can’t call Fox News Commentator and Senior Political Analyst Britt Hume a shill for the Republican Party, especially after slapping the Republicans for having a brand name that is in “terrible shape” on the June 24 episode of Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. Even after the bad several weeks the Democrats have had, Hume still felt the need to kick the legs out from under the Republicans.
Apparently it is not morning in America for CBS. The big network roll out of its revamped morning show, CBS This Morning, is struggling to gain a foothold. It’s so bad that even the Fox News’ morning show, Fox and Friends, is beating the network morning extravaganza. In Chicago, Fox and Friends even beat the debut episode of CBS This Morning despite the fact that Gayle King, a long-time Oprah confidante, was one of the main features of the program.

Fox News is 15 years-old this year. Not quite sweet 16, but for a cable news organization, especially one that started out in so few homes, 15 was all it took to dominate the news biz. And that is pretty sweet, indeed.

A poll conducted by WorldPublicOpinion.org, a “project” run out of the University of Maryland, was the toast of the left-wingers last week for its finding that 
CNN indulged a classic left media tactic by misleading with a headline in a recent piece on former Governor Sarah Palin. The headline, if read by itself, seems to be saying that Sarah Palin delivered a “gaffe-filled message,” when the truth is that her message talked about gaffes, but wasn’t “filled” with them per se. The effect was that the headline made Palin look worse than the story itself did. If all one read was the headline, one would get a far different opinion of what was going on than if one read the story that went with it.
