Most Americans pay between $8 and $12 for a case of soda, depending on where you are and how much tax is levied upon the purchase. But not if you live in Seattle. Thanks to the left-wing city’s new soda tax, residents of The Emerald City are now paying almost $20 a case for their soda fix. Who do you think this hurts the most? Right. The poor and middle classes.
The new tax went into effect on January 1 and the new cost is so outrageous that most stores are going to the expense of creating signs and posters to inform customers about why the prices of their sugared drinks have soared.

Not surprisingly, many regular shoppers in the city have already started making plans to either drive outside the city to get their sugared drinks, or to start giving it up altogether.

“We’ll just go ahead and make the trip outside the city when we want to buy some,” Seattle citizen Dennis Peterson told KOMO News.
So, what is the deal with this foolish tax? Naturally, the city’s politicians think that the tax will bring in millions in new revenue. Time to pop the champaign corks because the gravy train is getting its steam on… if I can mix metaphors.

The City of Spokane, Washington is now reporting that the local head of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)–who for years has claimed to be a black woman–lied about her race on her application to serve on the citizen police ombudsman commission. She claimed she is black, but now her parents and official records have come forward to show she is actually a white woman.
For the first time our clownish vice president, Joey Biden, was finally useful to someone in this nation when a Washington State man used the “Joe Biden” defense to get himself out of a gun charge.
The city council of Seattle saw a pay-to-park lot owned by a private landowner and businesswoman and collectively thought to itself, “ya know, it would be nice to have the income from that parking lot for our own.” And so, in the typically lawless way that Democrats operate, the city council sent the woman a note telling her that they have decided that she must hand over the land to them so that they can make the money off the parking lot instead of her. The land owner, though, saw no reason to comply, and oddly enough and a court fight ensued.
Jessica Sanford was running totally on faith, not knowledge, until she got sandbagged by Obama’s unaffordable care act. But even after she found out that Obama screwed her over she still invoked her religious belief in the man. It was never his fault, you see?
By all accounts the Interstate 5 bridge collapse in Washington State was a result of an over sized truck load as opposed to “failing infrastructure.” But a plea for greater federal spending figured prominently in many reports on the accident nonetheless.
In another episode of a political “war on women,” Senate Democrats in Washington State took advantage of the absence of a Republican Senator who briefly stepped off the floor to feed her newborn son–leaving the GOP one vote short of control–to push through a vote on a bill that wasn’t even on the schedule.
On March 12, Representative Paul Ryan (R, WI) released the GOP’s budget proposal sparking an afternoon of analysis and criticism. By Tuesday evening Reuters was contrasting Ryan’s budget with one sponsored by Senator Patty Murray (D, WA). But there is one problem with Reuters’ analysis. The Democrats didn’t actually release any budget for Reuters to analyze by the time the news service had published its story. So, Reuters is simply regurgitating Murray’s talking points.
