Obama-Masked Missouri Rodeo Clown Banned From Sport For Life

-By Warner Todd Huston

Don’t make fun of king Obama. If you do your life will be destroyed. That is the message that the Missouri State Fair is sending by the banning for life of a rodeo clown that used an Obama mask during a recent performance.

Of course, the crowd had a great time with the stunt as can be seen in a video of the event…

The incident occurred on August 10 at the Missouri State Fair where Rodeo clown Tuffy Gessling made a bunch of Obama jokes with a dummy figure of Obama propped up by a broom which was being used as a target for the rodeo bulls. But soon scolds on the Internet went wild attacking the clown as “racist.”

Jeff Mazur, an Executive Director for AFSCME, a left-wing government workers union, and an operative in Democrat Governor Jay Nixon’s administration, wasn’t amused, though and he took to Twitter to immediately attack the rodeo for the Obama joke. (See his Tweet below)

Your Taxes Going to Pay for Hotel Rooms for Illegal Aliens

-By Warner Todd Huston

Fox News just found out that the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is spending thousands of your tax dollars a day on hotel rooms for illegal aliens. One official said this “shouldn’t be happening,” but it is.

Fox found that millions of illegals a year are given temporary status for asylum in the USA and are often given free hotel stays while they wait for a hearing before an immigration judge. Worse, some 600,000 to 800,000 a year don’t bother to show up for their hearings. That means they are wandering about the USA with no accounting for their whereabouts or their legal status.

There are so many, sometimes hundreds per day, that ICE hasn’t anywhere to keep them so they just foot the bill for hotel rooms while they wait. This wait can be weeks and months away from being given their cozy, free hotel rooms paid for by you and me.

Fox found that the numbers of asylum seekers has grown exponentially of late and that these illegals are using “special key words” when they apply for asylum, words the Obama administration has set up as safe words used to give these illegals immediate protected status.

Close Obama Family Friend Cooperating With Feds in Probe of Chicago Corruption Scheme

-By Warner Todd Huston

A close friend of President Obama was forced to admit, Friday, that he is cooperating with authorities over a probe into a $433,000 kickback scheme at an Illinois agency he once headed.

Obama pal, Dr. Eric Whitaker, the former head of the Illinois Department of Public Health, has said he is cooperating on an investigation into alleged corruption perpetrated by his former chief of staff.

On August 9, James A. Lewis, the U.S. Attorney for the Illinois Central District, indicted Quinshaunta R. Golden, Whitaker’s chief of staff at the Illinois Department of Public Health, on charges of conspiring to divert state funds into her own pockets and then attempting to cover it all up.

Quinshaunta Golden is the niece of current U.S. Representative Danny Davis (D, Chicago) and is the 13th person indicted in the probe involving millions of dollars in state grants.

Golden is accused of having Leon Dingle, Jr. hire a “security consultant” at a cost of one million dollars in state funds. Dingle was director of a non-profit receiving grants from the state This consultant, referred to as “Individual A” in the indictment, then kicked some of that money back to Golden.

New Obama Rules Will Force ‘Diversity’ on Your Community

-By Warner Todd Huston

Obama is taking steps to begin to force “diversity” on your neighborhood through new fiat changes to policies of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Many fear this will force lenders right back into the sort of dangerous Democrat-sponsored lending practices that brought us the recent economic collapse.

This move corresponds to Obama Executive Order 1282, headlined: Leadership and Coordination of Fair Housing in Federal Programs; Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing.

“This rule,” the HUD website says, “accordingly proposes to refine existing requirements with a fair housing assessment and planning process that will better aid HUD program participants fulfill this statutory obligation and address specific comments the GAO raised.”It continues saying,

Crime Drops as Gun Sales in Virginia Soar

-By Warner Todd Huston

The saying, “More Guns Less Crime,” seems to be coming true if the Commonwealth of Virginia is any indication as gun sales have soared there even as crime rates have fallen.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch has the story, noting that, “Major gun crime collectively dropped for a fourth consecutive year statewide, while firearms sales climbed to a new record in 2012 with 490,119 guns purchased in 444,844 transactions–a 16 percent rise over 2011.”

The proliferation of guns occurred as the total number of major reported crimes committed with all types of firearms in Virginia dropped 5 percent, from 4,618 offenses in 2011 to 4,378 last year, according to Virginia State Police data.

Looking back over seven years, total firearm sales in Virginia have risen a staggering 101 percent from 2006 to 2012, while gun-related crime has dropped 28 percent during that period.

Now, notice what this means. It means that the left is wholly wrong when it says over and over again that “more guns on the streets means more crime.” It is patently false.

95-Year-Old Vet Killed by Police in Illinois Retirement Home With Taser, Bean Bag Guns

-By Warner Todd Huston

April, 2014 update below…

The police state strikes again.

In a major over-the-top reaction, police taserd and shot bean bags at a 95-year-old military veteran, killing him, after he refused medical treatment at his retirement home.

On July 25, police were called to the Victory Centere, an assisted living community in Park Forest Illinois–a southern suburb of Chicago–after resident John Wrana, a veteran of WWII, became “combative” while refusing medical treatment by the home’s nursing staff.

Wrana began to get unruly when he was “involuntarily” committed for medical treatment by staff at the facility, police said in a statement.

Obama Meets With Democrats, Speaks About Zimmerman Verdict

-By Warner Todd Huston

In a closed-door meeting with Congressional Democrats at the Capitol, President Obama again promised that his administration would look for ways to examine the criminal justice system in the aftermath of the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.

Obama visited with Congressional Democrats in a cloistered meeting on July 31, ostensibly to continue his umpteenth pivot to jobs and the economy, but Politico notes that Representative Elijah Cummings (D, MD) brought up the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case and again urged the President to do more to address the incident.

Obama told Democrats that he is still looking for ways to use the Department of Justice to address the issue instead of trying to pass legislation.

In the immediate aftermath of Zimmerman’s not guilty verdict, several African American Democrats and other top Democrat leaders called for the federal government to act.

Hawaii Lawmakers Want to Buy One-Way Tickets Off the Island for Homeless

-By Warner Todd Huston

“Dear homeless, you have been voted off the island.” That is what some Hawaii lawmakers are saying with a plan to allocate state funds to buy one-way tickets off the Island for the state’s homeless population. It is two Democrats sponsoring the program, too.

Now, wait… two Democrats are sponsoring legislation to ship the homeless off the island? Yep. So, doesn’t that break the claim that only the left cares about the homeless. Yep.

It’s all a case of NIMBY, not in my back yard. Oh, these Democrats love the homeless… when they are someone else’s problem.

The “Return To Home” program will give any homeless person a one-way ticket back to the contiguous United States if they can show that someone will take them in.

Lawmakers have funded the program with $100,000 each year for three years. It was created by Democrat state Rep. John Mizuno, the vice speaker of the House of reps.

Trayvon Martin’s Mom Campaigns for Repeal of ‘Stand Your Ground’ Laws

-By Warner Todd Huston

Even though Florida’s Stand Your Ground law had absolutely no part at all in either the death of her son or the prosecution of the man that shot him, Trayvon Martin’s mother is now trying to make a name for herself by becoming an advocate for repealing Florida’s self protection law.

We all know the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman drama, I assume. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, was attacked and beaten by the six-foot-tall Trayvon Martin, a person unknown to the neighborhood, when Zimmerman pulled out his gun and shot Martin in self-defense. Zimmerman was then arrested and charged with murder but was acquitted early in July. Not guilty, said an all-woman jury.

Florida’s Stand Your Ground law had no part in the trial, though. Zimmerman’s defense did not invoke the law and neither did the prosecution. So what the heck is Martin’s mother yammering about?

Who knows. But Sybrina Fulton (gee, not “Martin”? Yeah) is now throwing her voice behind the effort started by left-wing members of the National Bar Association to repeal the law. She spoke up at a convention in Miami Beach at the end of July.

Mayors Quitting Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun Group

-By Warner Todd Huston

New York Mayor Michael “Nanny” Bloomberg has been running all over the country claiming to represent hundreds of America’s mayors with his anti-gun group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). But Nanny Bloomberg is lately finding that many of those mayors are abandoning his anti-gun group over the mayor’s false advertising about just what his group is about.

A recent look at the 2012 membership rolls of MAIG finds that some 50 mayors have recently quit Bloomberg’s anti-Second Amendment group.

Of course, some of those mayors are off the list because they lost an election or have left office for whatever reason. But many have specifically asked to be removed from the group.

Two mayors in particular have left because they say that Bloomberg misled them about what MAIG was going to be about in the first place.

Video: A Test Case That Is Proving Free Markets Beat Government Regulations

-By Seton Motley, Founder and President of Less Government

Fire Island is a tiny New York hamlet of about 200 full-time residents. Whose 1930s old-school land line phone connections were wiped out by Hurricane Sandy.

So wireless companies are — rather than rebuilding the very expensive, woefully outdated connections they had — switching them to a brand new, cutting edge Internet Protocol (IP) system.

This format is much, much better than the old-school system — in large part because it is far less regulated than the old-school system.

So the Left — which relies on regulatory regimes to impose their failed worldview and for their very existence — are freaking out.

All of this, and more, is explained in this guerrilla video.

Please, enjoy.

Feds Repeal ‘Domestic Propaganda’ Ban

-By Warner Todd Huston

With the updating of the Smith-Mundt Act, some are criticizing the repeal of rules that banned certain government-sponsored news broadcasts–such as Voice of America–from being aired inside the USA.

John Hudson of Foreign Policy, for instance, calls the move a “repeal” of the ban on government propaganda and says it will unleash “thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption.”

“Until this month,” Hudson says, “a vast ocean of U.S. programming produced by the Broadcasting Board of Governors such as Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks could only be viewed or listened to at broadcast quality in foreign countries.”

But with new amendments to the Smith-Mundt Act, those broadcast outlets will for the first time be allowed to broadcast inside the USA programming meant to appeal to specific communities.

David Axelrod Uses Zimmerman Verdict to Push Gun Control

-By Warner Todd Huston

On July 14, close Obama adviser David Axelrod quickly resorted to Twitter to use the not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial as a call for stricter gun control.

In one Tweet, Axelrod issued the inflammatory claim that George Zimmerman “stalked” Trayvon Martin. The presidential confidant also claimed that Martin was “minding his own business” when he was shot. This is undermined by evidence of the beating that Zimmerman suffered at the hands of Martin.

In a second Tweet, Axelrod criticized Zimmerman for having a gun that night, as if blaming the gun itself for the incident.

George Soros Funding ‘Nonpartisan’ Attackers of Kansas Gov. Brownback

-By Warner Todd Huston

It is now being reported that billionaire liberal activist George Soros is the bankroll behind the “nonpartisan” attacks on Kansas Governor Sam Brownback’s new judicial selection plan.

Two organizations in Kansas have led the charge against the Republican Governor’s proposal and both claim to be nonpartisan. But the two groups, Justice at Stake and the Kansas chapter of the League of Women Voters, are receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from two of extremist Sorros’ liberal organizations in a similar way that Colorado’s liberal organizations implemented the “Colorado model.”

Brownback has been supporting changes in the state’s process of appointing judges. Previously Kansas judges were chosen by a commission made up of lawyers who are unaccountable to voters but Brownback has been pushing the adoption of the federal model where judges are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate.

New Phone Ap Exposes Home Addresses of Legal Gun Owners

-By Warner Todd Huston

Are you an evil gun owner whose “gun religion” requires “live child sacrifices” to appease your gun god? Well now there is a smart phone ap to expose your home address to the world.

Gun Geo Marker is now available for anti-gun smart phone users to upload the home address of gun owners to a database created to mark “dangerous guns and gun owners.”

The ap was developed by University of California San Diego lecturer and anti-gun hobbyist Brett Stalbaum who claims that his project is meant to track “irresponsible” gun owners. But reading his ap website tends to affirm that Stalbaum thinks all gun owners are irresponsible–as with the “gun religion” comment.

As Stalbaum explains on the ap’s webpage, “Yes, I guess this is the same as ‘publicly geotag[ing] homes of people believed to belong to a particular religion.’ True enough, if your religion requires live child sacrifices to appease a cold, tubular god.”

Mich Rep. Conyers Staffer Arrested for Carrying Gun in Courthouse

-By Warner Todd Huston

A staffer for Michigan Congressman, Democrat John Conyers, was arrested for bringing a concealed gun into a federal courthouse in Detroit but faced little by way of sanction or punishment as a result.

Rep. John Conyers’ office manager, Betty Petrenz, had the pistol in her purse as she entered the court building and told police that she simply forgot she had it in there.

She faced no prosecution and was given what one prosecutor called “a gift” for a penalty. She received a ticket for having a gun on federal property and got what is called “pretrial diversion,” a sentence that involves neither jail time nor a fine. It merely requires the person to be on good behavior for a specified period of time after which the ticket is dismissed.

Tresa Baldas of the Detroit Free Press found that three other people who also accidentally brought their guns into the courthouse were treated a bit differently.

More Proof That Democrats Hate Democracy and the Constitution

-By Warner Todd Huston

There was once a day when the Democrat Party was very concerned about the protections of the U.S. Constitution and the due process of the law. But they used that fealty to the law of the land to protect slavery and disenfranchise blacks. To eliminate this, the system was used against Democrats to destroy their evil intent. Democrats learned a lesson from this, sure, but it was the wrong one. Instead of learning that the Constitution and the law is good, now, with their 100-year-old fealty to un-American, European-styled socialism, Democrats use that same system to undermine every tenet of Americanism. The lesson they learned was not to look for the intent of the law but to use the law as a weapon to destroy enemies.

Sadly, the Democrat Party has never been a force for good in this country.

Take the Second Amendment, for instance. Like the good apparatchiks they are, Democrats pretend they love the U.S. Constitution and blithely tell the media that they would never want to take away guns. Why, all they want, they say, is “common sense” gun laws that keep us all safe while protecting our Constitutional rights of self-defense.

This, however, is a blatant lie.

Look to Illinois, the last, deeply blue state to hold out for passing a concealed carry law, a law that the Supreme Court of the United States has demanded they pass.

Scientists: Babies With Three Parents on the Horizon

-By Warner Todd Huston

Science is always pushing the envelope to see what it can create, but babies with three parents? That is what a recent report out of Britain claims. Soon babies born of DNA of one man and the donor eggs of two women might be on the horizon.

A report at the Daily Mail says that a baby with three parents could be born as early as 2105 after a “landmark decision” by British authorities to allow a “controversial genetic treatment.”

While the genetic experiments are quite controversial and raises fears of “designer babies,” others feel that many ailments, diseases, and hereditary genetic disorders could be cured and that babies could be born with a level of assurances that they would be healthy.

The techniques, the Daily Mail reports, would take the egg from one mother, inject it with DNA from a second woman and fertilize it with a man’s sperm. “The resulting healthy child,” the Mail reports “would effectively have two mothers and a father.”

The British Government’s chief medical officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies, claims that the procedure does not materially alter the genetic traits that would be passed on from the original donor egg and likened the introduction of genetic material from the second female egg to a changing of a “battery pack” in some electronic gadget.

CNN’s Evident Bias on Supreme Court Decisions

-By Warner Todd Huston

Over the last several days in the last week of June the Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) handed down two important decisions, one striking down part of the 1965 Voting Rights Act and one striking down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) leading to a renewed national dialog in the issues. But for CNN the rulings were just another opportunity to analyze the decisions from a decidedly leftward point of view.

According to a review of CNN’s coverage of the June 25 and 26 Supreme Court decisions conducted by the Media Research Center, the cable network’s coverage of the rulings showed a decided leftward tilt.

In the case of the June 25 Voting Act decision, CNN featured four times as many critics of the decision as supporters.

Bank Insecurity: Your Money is at Risk Through Cyber Theft

-By Warner Todd Huston

We all, individuals and businesses alike, have this basic assumption that when we put our money in a bank it is safe. But is it? Apparently not so much as the experience of small business TRC indicates when hackers reached into the company’s California-based bank account and drained it of nearly $300 thousand. Worse, the bank and CEO Dennis R. Woods is claiming no responsibility for the security in their own bank!

Jon Fleischman of California’s premier political blog The Flash Report recently updated his readers to the ongoing lawsuit in this tale of cyber theft.

In 2011 cyber hackers out of Eastern Europe broke into the accounts of California’s United Security Bank (USB) and drained almost $600 thousand from the accounts of TRC Operating Company (TRC) out of Kern County, California. It happened over a weekend when the bank was shutting down for Sunday and nobody noticed for days.

Has DOJ Given McConnell Bugging Suspect ‘Journalist’ Status?

-By Warner Todd Huston

A recent Politico story seems to indicate that the Department of Justice is stymied on its prosecution of the political activist that recorded a private campaign meeting between Senator Mitch McConnell and his staff because the DOJ considers the activist a “journalist” and wants to tread gingerly as a result.

The “bugging” incident came to light early in April when a recording of the private, closed-door meeting was released by Mother Jones magazine. It was soon revealed that Curtis Morrison, a political activist that works for the left wing political group Progress Kentucky, used his flip cam to record what he could hear of the meeting through a closed door in McConnell’s Senate offices.

Even with charges of illegal recording–essentially a bugging–Morrison is unbowed. In an op ed in Salon.com he was defiant saying he’d do it all over again, illegal or not.

Buzzfeed Sued Over Unauthorized Use of Photo

-By Warner Todd Huston

It is one of the dangers of the Internet age and Buzzfeed is only the latest website to find itself being taken to court, sued for $3.67 million for using a photograph without the permission of the original owner of the image.

While perusing the Internet, photographer Kai Eiselein stumbled across one of Buzzfeed’s ubiquitous photo essay lists, one titled “The 30 Funniest Header Faces.” The entry from 2010 gathered 30 images of soccer players caught by the camera lens making funny faces while butting heads against a soccer ball.

Eiselein was perturbed, though, to find one of his own photographs featured as one of the 30 amusing images Buzzfeed used. The photog was perturbed because he had uploaded the image to his Flickr feed and taken the time to note on all his images that his photos were “All Rights Reserved” in an effort to keep people from stealing them. As it happens, Buzzfeed simply took the image and never contacted Eiselein for permission to use the image.

Eiselein sent Buzzfeed a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice and the site quickly acceded to his demand. So, upon visiting the Buzzfeed page in question now, visitors are greeted with “The 29 Funniest Header Faces.”

Colorado Sen. Who Spearheaded Anti-Gun Laws Close to Recall

-By Warner Todd Huston

In the aftermath of the crime at a Colorado movie theater where 12 people were murdered, the Colorado State legislature quickly moved to adopt stricter gun laws and Senate President John Morse led that effort. But now, after his anti-gun bills were successfully passed into law, Morse faces a recall election that could turn him out of office.

On June 18, Colorado certified that the recall effort had gained enough signatures to move forward making Senator leader Morse the first legislator to ever be recalled in the state’s history.

Morse, a Democrat from Colorado Springs, has been in the legislature for seven years and for a short time was the police chief of Fountain, Colorado. He became Senate majority leader in 2009 after the former occupant of that office resigned to join the Obama administration.

Senator Morse not only supported but championed the new laws that limited ammunition magazines to 15 rounds or less and mandated that background checks be performed even for private transactions on gun sales. Morse also strongly supported several other, even stricter measures but they failed to pass.

Despite the complaints of constituents, the Senator is wholly unapologetic for his strong support of the new gun laws.

Miss Alabama 2013 Proves American Freedom is Dying

-By Warner Todd Huston

Mary Margaret McCord, the dull witted “beauty queen” from Alabama, said during the 2013 Miss USA contest that she’d trade freedom and liberty for safety. This empty-headed twit proves that the liberals have won. We have lost our freedom if people care so little about it that they would trade liberty and freedom for government-sponsored “security.” Our system of mis-education, an edifice so infested with liberals, did this to us all. The liberals are killing America. But conservatives are also at fault here. They are at fault for allowing our educational system to be taken over by the anti-American, hardcore left.

This Ben Franklin axiom is obviously no longer taught in our schools:

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

LA Times Pushes ‘Gun’ Angle Instead of Mental Illness on Santa Monica Shooter Story

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the 24-year-old Santa Monica shooter had a history of mental illness but leads a June 9 story with the claim of an “unnamed source” who said that the killer had a “fascination with guns.”

In the Times report the story about killer John Zawahri leads with two paragraphs detailing the claims of this unnamed source, but the spends many more paragraphs discussing his mental health problems and run-ins with the law.

It is interesting that the paper leads with this claim when there is far more evidence of Zawahri’s run-ins with the police in the past, his reputation as a young man with an explosive temper, and his undefined mental problems.

Yet the paper quotes an unnamed person said to be familiar with the murderer and his family who feels he had “a fascination with guns.” This unnamed person also claims that many people were worried about Zawahri’s gun fixation and also wondered where he got the money for the firearms.

But the Times finds that Zawahri had a history of emotional problems. He was upset over his parents divorce and police had been called to his family home in 2006 over an incident of domestic violence.

Poll: Americans Upset Over Dept. of Justice Snooping on Reporters

-By Warner Todd Huston

Recent polling of likely voters by the Rasmussen polling firm finds that trust in government is at a low ebb with nearly half of voters feeling that the Justice Department’s seizure of reporters’ phone records and the IRS targeting of conservatives are serious scandals. Yet the media is still not widely trusted.

“The United States was founded on a belief that governments are created to protect certain unalienable rights,” Rasmussen reports. “Today, however, more voters than ever view the federal government as a threat to those rights.”

According to Rasmussen, 42 percent of respondents felt that the DOJ was trying to bully the press with its snooping on personal and business phone calls while only 38 percent felt the DOJ was simply trying to stop security leaks.

Meanwhile, 68 percent still feel that freedom of the press is “very important.”

Ill Sen. Kirk to Meet With Former Gangster Turned Congressman Over Plan to ‘Crush’ Gangster Disciples

-By Warner Todd Huston

Chicago has been one of the most dangerous places in the country to live for the last several years with gang shootings wracking the city. To address this plague of gangs, Senator Mark Kirk (R, IL) proposed that some 18,000 gang members be rounded up and prosecuted. Now several African American leaders in Chicago are lambasting Kirk for his idea and one former gang member turned Congressman is demanding a meeting with the Senator.

Early in May, Senator Kirk succumbed to utter frustration over the powerlessness of the Chicago police to stop the violence and demanded that the federal government step in and take over.

Speaking of High School cheerleader Hadiya Pendleton, a teen killed during gang violence in 2012, Kirk said of the gangs, “I would like to crush them, because they shot Hadiya.”

“My top priority is to arrest the Gangster Disciple gang, which is 18,000 people. I would like to do a mass pickup of them and put them all in the Thomson Correctional Facility. I will be proposing this to the assembled federal law enforcement: ATF, DEA and FBI,” the Senator said.

Kirk has noted that the law enforcement community has met his idea with skepticism but law enforcement isn’t the only sector of the city to find fault.

Obama Solutions: ‘Rogue IRS Agent’ Promoted

Instead of being reprimanded, one of the so-called “rogue” operatives at the Cincinnati IRS office is getting a big promotion.

Expressing his “anger” in May when the IRS targeting scandal broke, President Obama promised to “hold the responsible parties accountable” at the IRS. On the heels of that claim, Obama’s IRS chief called the guilty IRS operatives “rogue” employees.

From such rhetoric one might expect heads to roll at the IRS.

Yet, now, one of those “rogue” IRS officials, Exempt Organization Specialist Stephen Seok , is getting a new job. Instead of a mere department specialist, now Seok is being promoted to “supervisor IRS agent.”
