Did GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Say He Wanted to ‘Punch Tea Party Bullies in the Nose’?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Breitbart News has an explosive exclusive report about a recent conference call held by Karl Rove during which, Breitbart says, Senate GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R, KY) said that the tea partiers are “bullies” and he intends to “punch them in the nose.”

For Breitbart, Matthew Boyle writes that a strategy call was recently sponsored by Crossroads America, the GOP PAC headed up by anti-conservative and establishment guru Karl Rove, and on the call tea party activists and conservatives came in for harsh criticism by no less then leader McConnell himself.

Boyle writes that a participant on the call contacted him and said that McConnell attacked Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz by name. But what McConnell said at the end of the call was the most adversarial statement.

INFURIATING VIDEO: Obama’s Medicare Officer Spins One Lie After Another in Testimony

-By Warner Todd Huston

As a result of the massive failure of Obamacare, Obama’s Medicaid info chief was brought before Congress for questioning. His testimony is an infuriating example of a man who hasn’t a clue what is going despite that he is supposed to be in charge but spins lie after lie to cover up that fact, anyway.

Without doubt, the rollout of the Obamacare websites have been an absolute disaster, not just for the national site but in every state. Congress had questions for Medicaid and Medicare Deputy Chief Information Officer, Henry Chao and his answers were a cascade of obfuscation and wild spin empty of facts.

Chao began his “testimony” telling Congress he had no idea how much code would have to be written to make the Obamacare website work properly. Then he went on to belch out all sorts of conflicting statistics that don’t seem rooted in reality.

At one point he says that 40 to 50 percent of the website, healthcare.gov, is working properly then only minutes later says that percentage is 60 to 70 percent. So, which is it, Mr. Chao?

He also reports that the payment calculator is either not even built yet or is there but just not functioning properly. It can’t be both, Mr. Chao.

For being the chief information officer, this guy has no real information at all.

Senate Hearing on Future of Bitcoin: Legal Tender or Criminal Enterprise?

-By Warner Todd Huston

The U.S. Senate held a hearing on the Internet-based Bitcoin currency on Nov. 18 revealing a U.S. government that is struggling with crafting policy to govern how the virtual currency can be used in the United States.

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Government Affairs held a major hearing on Bitcoin and other virtual currencies called, “Beyond Silk Road: Potential Risks, Threats, and Promises of Virtual Currencies.” The Committee also has a video of the proceedings.

Bitcoin has gotten a black eye because criminals and drug dealers have used the currency in an effort to avoid law enforcement and earlier this year U.S. authorities shut down several websites that traded in Bitcoins over this use by criminals.

But recently the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank issued a “primer” on how Bitcoin works that raised the virtual currency’s stock in the world of finance.

Should Senator Mark Kirk Step Down? Joe Walsh Wonders…

-By Warner Todd Huston

Sen. Kirk getting help from others to
walk the streets of Washington DC.

Former Congressman turned WIND radio host Joe Walsh has wondered aloud… and by aloud we mean on the radio… if Senator Mark Kirk–who suffered a serious stroke last year–should step down as U.S. Senator because of his health. Walsh is questioning whether or not Kirk can handle the mental effort of being a U.S. Senator and presents a few video clips that tends to show Kirk at his worst.

On November 5, Walsh posted a pair of another piece on the next day reiterating that call.

VIDEO: Citizen Tells Sen. McCain He Should be ‘Arrested and Tried for Treason!” For al Qaeda Support

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ouch. At a recent town hall event held by Senator John McCain (Maverick, Arizona) one participant said to McCain’s face that the Senator should be “arrested and tried for treason” for supporting al Qaeda terrorists in Syria.

For those unaware, McCain was one of the biggest boosters of the Syrian rebels currently facing Syrian strongman Bashar al Assad who has been killing thousands of his own people in a civil war for some time, now. McCain felt the US should support the rebels facing Assad, but as it happens at least half the rebels facing Assad are members of al Qaeda, America’s biggest international foe, not to mention those responsible for the murder of 3,000 Americans on 9/11/01.

Arizona citizen Blaine Cooper called McCain a traitor for sending arms and money to support the Syrian rebels, many of whom are al Qaeda, our worst enemies.

Sen. Ted Cruz: We Need Our Grassroots Army to Take Down Obamacare

-By Warner Todd Huston

Senator Ted Cruz (R, TX) has not backed off from his drive to destroy the President’s disastrous take over of our healthcare system with his Obamacare scheme and this weekend he was in Iowa bucking up the troops and urging a “grassroots army” to rise up and dismantle Obamacare.

Cruz was appearing before a crowd in Akron, Iowa on Friday, October 25 in three days of events that many think indicates he’s considering a run for President in 2016.

Cruz says he is only focused on his work in the Senate now, but if he does look to a run for the White House, Iowa is a traditional place to start to raise his profile.

Whatever his goals for the future, for today he is still beating the drum to defeat Obamacare and he made some excellent points about the hypocrisy of the left, the Democrats and the Old Media complex (but I thrice repeat myself) that attacked those that wanted to delay and defund Obamacare.

Dem. Senator Dick Durbin Lies That Republican Said He Couldn’t Stand to Look at Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin has not only been caught red (or blue) handed in a lie, but now he’s doubling down on that lie by claiming that a Republican leader in the House of Reps. told the President to his face that he “cannot stand to look at him.”

Senator Durbin, the second highest ranking Democrat in the U.S. Senate, took to his Facebook page to call Republicans names (as he usually does) and passed on the lie that Republican leadership hates Obama so much they “cannot even stand to look at” him.

**UPDTATE**

Durbin is also trying to raise money on this lie sending out fundraiser emails to supporters pushing the lie that Republicans insulted the President to his face.

See Illinois Review for the story.

Here is what Durbin posted on October 20 at 11AM:

Many Republicans searching for something to say in defense of the disastrous shutdown strategy will say President Obama just doesn’t try hard enough to communicate with Republicans. But in a “negotiation” meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: “I cannot even stand to look at you.”

What are the chances of an honest conversation with someone who has just said something so disrespectful?

But as soon as this calumny was belched out by the Soldier-hating Senator (see video above) denials from Republican leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor were released. It just didn’t happen, they said.

Harry Reid: Obamacare first step to single-payer system

-By Eric Boehm, Watchdog.org

As the nation enters the third week of the Obamacare health exchange implementation, it’s worth taking a second look at some interesting comments made in August by one of the chief architects of the law.

In short, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., never really thought the exchanges would work.

He just sees the Affordable Care Act as the first step to a fully government-run health care system, something that could be easier to achieve after the glitch-riddled, problematic opening of the federal health insurance exchanges this month.

During an appearance on a Las Vegas PBS program in August, Reid said he sees a national single-payer health system as the natural next step for health care in America. Reid said the nation had to “work its way past” insurance-based health care, according to a recap provided by the Las Vegas Sun newspaper.

“What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” Reid said.

The so-called “single-payer system” essentially would do away with private health insurance and would allow the government to become the sole provider of medical costs (though all costs would actually be picked up by the taxpayers, of course), similar to the socialized medical systems in Canada, Great Britain and elsewhere. The benefits of a single-payer system, from the government’s point of view at least, is that it does away with one of those pesky Obamacare problems — having to get people to enroll in the exchanges through their own free will.

Senator Ted Cruz: I’m Not in D.C. to ‘Make 99 New Friends’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz is defiant in the face of criticism of his hardline, conservative tactics during the show down over the shut down and the idea of defunding the President’s disastrous take over of our healthcare system with Obamacare. He didn’t go to Washington to make “99 new friends,” he said.

In a new interview with ABC News, Cruz was asked about his purported unpopularity among some quarters (like idiot RINOs, and the anti-American Democrat Party). But Cruz was unbowed by the hate of those that themselves deserve to be reviled–the latter are my words, not his.

Obama Threatens to Crash Global Economy Unless He Gets Everything He Wants

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is the most petulant, most arrogant president in American history and now he is threatening to purposefully crash the global economy unless the Republicans bend over backwards, betray their voters, and give Obama every political policy he wants.

Obama keeps claiming that he and his Eurocratic Democrat Party cohorts won’t “pay a ransom” over the current budget impasse in Washington DC. But with his sudden insistence that the GOP abandon the sequester cuts–the only real cuts the GOP has managed to put into place–then he’ll crash the US and global economies. So, essentially Obama is demanding a $1.1 trillion dollar ransom!

$1.1 trillion, as it happens, is what the sequester was going to save. Granted the sequester wasn’t really made up of anything other than cuts in the growth of federal spending, but still it was $1.1 trillion in spending that wasn’t going to happen.

But, now Obama is threatening to force the USA into default unless the GOP abandons even that tiny cut in spending.

Texas Congressman Slams RINO John McCain

-By Warner Todd Huston

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert is sick to death of RINO Republicans like Arizona senator John McCain, dubbed John McLame by most conservatives. Though he didn’t exactly name the RINO from Arizona, he certainly painted quite a picture last weekend slamming him.

Gohmert was speaking during a panel discussion at the Values Voter Summit that was held over the weekend of October 12 and the discussion moved toward the current budget impasse in DC.

Gohmert then brought up “some senator from Arizona” as he prepared to slam John McCain in a thinly veiled reference.

“I heard just before I came some senator from Arizona,” Gohmert said to laughter from the audience. “A guy that liked Qadaffi before he wanted to bomb him, a guy that liked Mubarak before he wanted him out, a guy that’s been to Syria and supported Al-Qaeda and rebels. But he was saying today ‘The shutdown has been a fool’s errand.’ And I agree with him. The President and Harry Reid should not have shut this government down,” he said to great applause.

Ted Cruz is IT!

-By Gary Krasner

David Gregory must have thought he would be another Tim Russert when he was preparing to tackle Ted Cruz this morning.

But after the Obama-worshipping Gregory completed the 25 min interview, you can see he felt like a complete failure.

He hit Cruz with every Democrat nonsense talking point, and Cruz aced every question.

This is rare. There has been no true conservative republican who understood the basics or ARGUMENT, let alone could craft an effective argument.

But Cruz clerked for Chief Justice Renquist. That is where you learn the basics of effective argument.

NBC-Obama worshipping Dummy Chris Mathews said following the interview that House republicans are not following “our system of government.”

The Constitution gives the House the power of the purse, PRECISELY in order to defund bad law or bad executive actions.

Dem. Leader Sen. Harry Reid Says ‘No’ To Funding Kids’ Cancer Treatments

-By Warner Todd Huston

Democrat leader Senator Harry Reid said that he has no interest in funding cancer treatments for kids today in a press conference about the ongoing government shut down fight. Instead of treating kids with cancer, Reid prefers to have a political tool to use against Republicans.

In the presser CNN’s Dana Bash asked a very poignant question making Reid look like the partisan hack he is–purely by accident I’m sure–when she asked about funding cancer treatments for kids who have been turned away at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As it happens, about 200 patients a day will be turned away from the NIH because of the government shut down.

The Republicans have offered a separate funding bill to fund the NIH but the Democrats in the Senate and President Obama have refused to allow this bill to pass. So, the truth is that it is the Democrats refusing to allow these kids to get their cancer treatments.

Dana Bash pointed this out to Sen. Reid. “But if you could help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?,” she asked.

Reid coldly replied, “why would we wanna do that?”

Politico Misleads With ‘Cruz Praises Obama on Iran’ Story

A recent Politico story did double duty by misleading readers and attempting to make Texas Senator Ted Cruz look bad with a headline and first paragraph that simply aren’t really true.

The September 28 story was misleadingly headlined, “Ted Cruz praises President Obama on Iran,” leaving readers with the impression that Senator Cruz was happy with Obama’s Iran policy.

Extremist, Liberal Radio Host Says Republicans are ‘Suicide Bombers Trying to Blow Your Children Up’

Extremist, left-wing radio talk show host Stephanie Miller is all about trying to find a way forward in this government shutdown crisis. She has a wonderful idea on how to reach across the aisle… by calling Republicans “suicide bombers” that want to “blow your children up.”

Yep, that’s the kind of new tone, caring, loving left we are used to, eh?

Obama Lies: Shutdown Fears Mirrors Blather About Bailout/Stimulus/Sequester Fears

-By Warner Todd Huston

Worried about a government shutdown? Don’t be. It won’t affect you much. But that isn’t what the left and the Old Media establishment are saying. They are making this a doomsday scenario and the false rhetoric they are doling out to America is similar to the BS that we saw during the 2008 debate (see video below) over bailouts and stimulus spending–you know, that spending that didn’t stimulate anything but the pockets of government union members? Yeah, that stimulus.

Paul Joseph Watson made some great points in his recent posting noting that the doomsday rhetoric we heard during the 2008 stimulus and bailout debates were pretty much just what we are hearing today. If government doesn’t act it’ll be the end of the world, we were told.

I’d add that we heard the same stuff about the sequester, too. If we passed sequester and made cuts to government, the left said, children and old people would die, the military would blow away, and the country would collapse. Well, the sequester came and went, some spending was cut and guess what? No one noticed any difference at all.

Moderate Republicans Finally Found Someone They Will Fight… Other Republicans

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Republican establishment led by such folks as Senators Mitch McConnell and John McCain don’t want to fight the Democrats. But after this latest Obamacare funding fight, we have discovered that there is a side they will attack: other Republicans.

Those Republicans who voted “yes” on Friday’s cloture vote in the Senate knowingly voted in favor of funding Obamacare. There is no other way around that simple truth.

There was absolutely no doubt that a “yes” vote would give Democrat leader Harry Reid the power to remove all the features that the House put in the budget bill that would defund Obamacare. GOP “yes” voters knew this without doubt. And, true to that assumption, only minutes after the DR was passed with Republican assistance, Reid did just that. He stripped out all aspect of defunding from the CR budget bill.

Yet, twenty-five Republicans voted “yes,” anyway.

Even while these RINO senators were turning tail and running from the fight against Obamacare and refusing to fight the Democrats, they did find a reason to attack someone. They attacked Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and all conservatives that want to be rid of Obamacare.

House Votes to Fund ALL Of Government EXCEPT Ruinous Obamacare

-By Warner Todd Huston

Don’t believe the media or the extremists in the Democrat Party when they say that the Republicans in the House of Representatives just voted to “shutdown government.” They did not. In fact, House Republicans just voted to fund every single thing government does… EXCEPT the ruinous government take over of our healthcare system called Obamacare.

Also don’t just accept the far left’s claim that this is a waste of time because the Senate won’t agree to the vote and it will just die unaccepted. In fact, this is where you step in by calling your Senators to tell them to join the House in defunding Obamacare.

Colorado Dem Senators Get Recalled, PPP Polling Throws Out Own Poll Foreshadowing Results

-By Warner Todd Huston

Today we have a great example of a polling firm allowing its political ideology to get in the way of its work. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, two anti-Second Amendment State Senators in Colorado were recalled by huge margins. In the days before the recall vote took place, Public Policy Polling (PPP) had conducted a poll that showed that the senators were about to be eliminated by voters but the firm refused to publish its own poll because the left-wing pollsters couldn’t imagine the results could possibly be right. Colorado just couldn’t be that right-leaning, PPP thought.

State Senate President John Morse (D, Col. Springs) and Sen. Angela Giron (D, Pueblo) lost their bid to retain their seats

Firstly to explain what occurred in the recall vote, and this is a great victory for Second Amendment supporters, too, we need to expound a bit on the whole thing.

State Senate President John Morse and fellow Senator Angela Giron were two principal supporters of the strict new anti-Second Amendment gun laws that were forced onto Colorado in the aftermath of the shooting in an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

But Morse and Giron pushed these anti-gun laws contrary to the wishes of their own constituents. After the laws were forced down Coloradan’s throats, both Morse and Giron admitted that they ignored their own voters and did so for their own good and were proud that they did so.

A recall effort began almost immediately and both were successfully cast into a recall election by local, grassroots organizers who gathered the requisite number of signatures to get the recall elections scheduled.

But in the run up to the recall elections hundreds of thousands of dollars in political spending flooded the two districts. Most of this outside money was from left-wing organizations attempting to defeat the local gun-supporters and their effort to recall the two senators. The recall election became an important battle ground between the constitution-hating left and supporters of the Second Amendment.

On September 10, the recall election was held and both were recalled handily. It was the first time any state lawmaker has ever been recalled.

Now, back to the polling company PPP.

Typical: Democrats Trying to Steal the Recall Election in Colorado

-By Warner Todd Huston

Currently in Colorado there is a recall election being staged for two Democrat State Senators. Naturally, Democrats have already been caught trying to steal this election with rampant voter fraud.

Senate President John Morse and Pueblo Senator Angela Giron, both Democrats, are being recalled because of their anti-Second Amendment votes and because they have systematically ignored the will of their constituents by voting along with the desires of the national Democrat Party instead of on local issues.

These two elections are fraught with national significance and a ton of outside money from the left, and some but not nearly as much from the right, have flooded these two districts.

Because of the national profile of these elections as a fight over the Second Amendment, Democrats are desperate to win and–as usual–will break any law to force that win.

In the video you see Democrats being accused of stuffing the ballot boxes with perhaps hundreds of illicit ballots dropped off when the election itself is supposed to be a walk-in vote only with only “hardship” ballots mailed in or dropped off early.

Figures, doesn’t it? Thieves and crooks will never change their spots and you can’t be a Democrat without those indelible spots in full bloom.

President Obama Declares Health Insurance is ‘A Right’

-By Warner Todd Huston

During his weekly address from August 17, President Obama declared that health insurance isn’t just a privilege–it’s a right.

The address, titled “Working to Implement the Affordable Care Act,” featured all the President’s well-worn claims about Obamacare that we are used to hearing.

Obama touted the fact that people under 26 can stay on their parent’s insurance, he talked of the “free mammograms,” and celebrated the access to “contraceptive care.” And then, in full demagogic mode, Obama went on to excoriate Republicans for trying to hurt “sick people” and the economy by opposing his Obamacare law.

Warming to his theme, Obama then said, “A lot of Republicans seem to believe that if they can gum up the works and make this law fail, they’ll somehow be sticking it to me. But they’d just be sticking it to you.”

While this is all typical Obama boilerplate, light on facts and heavy on sunny promises and hectoring rhetoric, one point he made was rather fantastic. He declared health insurance to be a right.

Obama wrapped up his weekend address making just that proclamation.

Louisiana Dem. Senator Landrieu ‘Embarrassed’ to Travel in Europe Because Americans Lack Health Insurance

-By Warner Todd Huston

Louisiana’s Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu is embarrassed by America. So embarrassed that she can’t travel in Europe because some Americans lack health insurance. Naturally, many Americans would be happy to donate to a fund to give Landrieu a one-way ticket to her choice of European countries.

Landrieu was speaking at the Legis-Gator luncheon hosted by the Chamber Southwest Louisiana on August 16 when she made the remarks.

She first said that she was quite proud of her vote for Obama’s take over of America’s healthcare system. “If I had to vote for the bill again, I would vote for it tomorrow,” she said.

She went on to announce her embarrassment over America. “It’s embarrassing to me to go to places like France and Spain … and their workers all manage to have health insurance that can’t be taken away.”

Landrieu is up for re-election in 2014.

The news report then notes,

Big Government-Loving Joe Scarborough Slams GOP for Defunding Obamacare Plan

-By Warner Todd Huston

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, once a fairly conservative Republican, is railing against the plan for defunding Obamacare being pushed by Republicans like Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, calling the plan “stupidity,” and saying that conservatives are “too angry” to “win elections.”

On his little watched MSNBC show, Scarborough beat up on Republicans for wanting to “shut down the government.” Of course, this is the left wing’s misconstruction of what Cruz and Lee are saying. There is no “shut down” being proposed, exactly. And it is no surprise that Scarborough is touting the left-wing line since he sold his soul to the left to be on the extremist, left-wing MSNBC network.

In fact, Cruz himself has said shutting down government won’t stop Obamacare, so it is absurd for Scarborough and his left wing comrades to make that leap.

The idea is to pass a budget that funds all of government except Obamacare. That isn’t “shutting down government.”

Senator Corker: 11 Million ‘Citizens’ Are ‘in the Shadows’ Today

-By Warner Todd Huston

During further debate of the Senate’s immigration bill on the floor of the Senate in the late afternoon of June 25, Tennessee’s Republican Senator, Bob Corker, claimed that 11 million “citizens” are “in the shadows today” and proclaimed himself “thrilled” to vote for the amnesty bill under discussion.

The Senator is a big supporter of the current amnesty bill and spoke in its favor saying, “We have the opportunity to immediately affect, in a positive way, 11 million citizens who are in the shadows today–in many ways already a part of our society–and can come out and be even more productive for the United States of America. I am thrilled to have that opportunity…”

According to this statement, in Corker’s estimation the 11 million illegal immigrants being talked about in the current debate in the Senate are already “citizens.”

Senator Corker has also been critical of conservative news coverage of the immigration debate saying that reports have been misleading.

Ill Sen. Kirk to Meet With Former Gangster Turned Congressman Over Plan to ‘Crush’ Gangster Disciples

-By Warner Todd Huston

Chicago has been one of the most dangerous places in the country to live for the last several years with gang shootings wracking the city. To address this plague of gangs, Senator Mark Kirk (R, IL) proposed that some 18,000 gang members be rounded up and prosecuted. Now several African American leaders in Chicago are lambasting Kirk for his idea and one former gang member turned Congressman is demanding a meeting with the Senator.

Early in May, Senator Kirk succumbed to utter frustration over the powerlessness of the Chicago police to stop the violence and demanded that the federal government step in and take over.

Speaking of High School cheerleader Hadiya Pendleton, a teen killed during gang violence in 2012, Kirk said of the gangs, “I would like to crush them, because they shot Hadiya.”

“My top priority is to arrest the Gangster Disciple gang, which is 18,000 people. I would like to do a mass pickup of them and put them all in the Thomson Correctional Facility. I will be proposing this to the assembled federal law enforcement: ATF, DEA and FBI,” the Senator said.

Kirk has noted that the law enforcement community has met his idea with skepticism but law enforcement isn’t the only sector of the city to find fault.
