Louisiana’s Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu is embarrassed by America. So embarrassed that she can’t travel in Europe because some Americans lack health insurance. Naturally, many Americans would be happy to donate to a fund to give Landrieu a one-way ticket to her choice of European countries.
Landrieu was speaking at the Legis-Gator luncheon hosted by the Chamber Southwest Louisiana on August 16 when she made the remarks.
She first said that she was quite proud of her vote for Obama’s take over of America’s healthcare system. “If I had to vote for the bill again, I would vote for it tomorrow,” she said.
She went on to announce her embarrassment over America. “It’s embarrassing to me to go to places like France and Spain … and their workers all manage to have health insurance that can’t be taken away.”
Landrieu is up for re-election in 2014.
The news report then notes,
Landrieu said Louisiana has “more working people that are poor” than any other state. Of the 2 million people who file taxes in the state, she said, 70 percent have incomes lower than $50,000 a year. She said another 12 percent have annual incomes between $50,000 and $75,000.
“When people ask me what kind of health care people need, I think they need something they can afford,” Landrieu said.
The Senator went on to say that people need healthcare they can afford. This is amusing in that Obamacare is driving the cost of insurance through the roof. Obamacare, the very law she voted for, is absolutely not making healthcare cheaper for anyone.
Louisiana’s Republican Governor slammed Landrieu for her foolishness saying that her comment “is just another example that the left sees Obamacare as path to socialized medicine.”

Speaking of the founders turning over in their graves! Obamacare is the most un-American law ever passed since the Alien and Sedition Act.
