It’s Presidents Day and Chicago-based Groupon has some celebrating to do. In fact, this year they are celebrating that well-known president Alexander Hamilton.

Groupon made the announcement of their Presidents Day honoree in a February 14 press release.

“Starting tomorrow, Groupon will be kicking off Presidents Day weekend by giving customers 10 dollars off 40 dollars when they purchase a deal for any local business. The $10 bill, as everyone knows, features President Alexander Hamilton–undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country’s financial system.”

Federal Judge Doesn’t Know Difference Between Constitution and Declaration of Independence

In an important decision striking down the votes of the people of Virginia, a Federal Judge proved she didn’t known the difference between the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. Thank you liberal educational establishment.

When U.S. District Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen issued her ruling taking away the vote of the people of Virginia and maintaining that the state’s affirmation of traditional, one man-one woman marriage was unconstitutional, she insisted that it was because the U.S. Constitution said that all men were created equal.

Of course, anyone with a fourth grade education knows that it is the not the U.S. Constitution that makes this declaration but is instead the more aptly named Declaration of Independence.

Lunacy: Liberal Hates Valentines Day an ‘Environmental Travesty’

There always has to be one goofball out there hatin’ on our national holidays, doesn’t there? This time it is hate for Valentines Day and on the flimsiest, most ridiculous reasoning: it is an “environmental travesty.”

For the left-wing New Republic, columnist Jeffrey Ball was first out of the chute to slam Valentines Day with a Valentines Day eve piece uproariously entitled, “Valentine’s Day Is an Environmental Travesty The carbon costs of greeting cards.”

That’s right, if you buy a greeting card you are a destroyer of the planet. Talk about ridiculous hyperbole. In fact, with that logic, one can do nothing but live in a cave eating bugs and leaves in order to satisfy this green nazi.

The magazine also took to Twitter to scold anyone who falls for this evil, Earth destroying holiday saying, “If your other half bought you a Valentine’s card, be sure to say thanks for the 18.5 grams of CO2 it created.”

As tedious as his argument is, it is typical of the sort of Luddite nonsense we hear from the extremist greenies.

Hypocrite: In 2008 Obama Said Executive Power Was Dangerous

We all know that Obama has been abusing his power as President, trying to push his policies on Americans through backdoor means and subverting the legislative process, but what did Obama think of the penchant of presidents to extend executive power when he ran for president in 2008? Well he was against it for George W. Bush, of course.

A lot of people have been pointing out that this president is lawlessly using his powers to regulate and to issue Executive Orders to subvert the legislative process and to get around having to live by our American system to force things on Americans that he can’t get politically or through the legal process. Yet Obama stood against this very sort of presidential action in 2008.

At a campaign stop on March 31, 2008 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Obama had these harsh words about what he considered Bush’s obscene misdeeds with executive power:

“I taught constitutional law for ten years,” President Obama claimed. “I take the Constitution very seriously. The biggest problems that we’re facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse when I’m President of the United States of America.”

So, what is he saying now that he is President?

Tens of Thousands of Connecticut Gun Owners Saying ‘NO’ To Unconstitutional Forced Registration Law

Connecticut politicians apparently thought their people were sheep.


Gun owners lining up to toss away their rights in Connecticut.

A few weeks ago I noted that it seems that tens of thousands of Connecticut’s gun owners were refusing to register their suddenly illegal guns and large capacity ammunition magazines. Now the media in the Nutmeg State are finally starting to notice.

At the end of January, I asked the key question, “How did ‘millions’ of high capacity magazines disappear in Connecticut?,” wherein I noted that previous estimates of how many assault weapons and magazines existed in the state was far and above that of those registered by the deadline imposed by the new anti-gun legislation. And I pointed out that it seems that hundreds of thousands of Connecticut’s gun owners are simply refusing to obey the new registration laws.

Now the Hartford Courant is noting the same discrepancy I wrote about weeks ago.

The state’s biggest paper noted that the nearly 50 thousand new registrations of so-called assault weapons is only 15 percent of the guns estimated by authorities to be in the hands of citizens.

As Fox News reported it: “Obama officials made clear in a press briefing that firms would not be allowed to lay off workers to get into the preferred class of those businesses with 50 to 99 employees. How will the feds know what employers were thinking when hiring and firing? Simple. Firms will be required to certify to the IRS – under penalty of perjury – that ObamaCare was not a motivating factor in their staffing decisions. To avoid ObamaCare costs you must swear that you are not trying to avoid ObamaCare costs. You can duck the law, but only if you promise not to say so.”

Senator Dick Durbin Lies With Impunity

Senator Dick Durbin is at it again, lying through his teeth, this time about Obamacare. On Sunday’s Meet The Press, Illinois Democrat Durbin made the wild-eyed claim that ten million Americans found new health insurance thanks to Obamacare. He also claimed that Obamacare would lower the deficit. But even the Washington Post gave its worst rating to Durbin’s lies.

As the discussion shifted to healthcare during the Feb. 5 broadcast, host Bob Schieffer lamented that Obamacare is still confusing everyone and asked Durbin if there is “any hope of getting it straightened out”?

Durbin lied with his very first words.

“Bob, let’s look at the bottom line. The bottom line is this. Ten million Americans have health insurance today who would not have had it without the Affordable Care Act–10 million.”

Obama Pulls Obamacare ‘Success’ Rug Out From Under Democrat Sales Pitch

As the Democrat National Committee was gearing up to send an email to supporters that touted the great success of the Affordable Care Act (or Obamacare), the White House was announcing that it was instituting yet another delay in implementing the flailing law.

The White House announced today that the employer mandate has been delayed again after having been delayed once last year.

With Obama’s newest fiat decision to alter a law without congressional action–an illegal act by any reckoning–employers with 100 workers or less won’t have to provide insurance to workers until 2016.

But even more amusingly, the DNC was sending out fundraising mailings touting the great success of Obamacare just as the White House was making these unilateral changes.

So, if Obamacare is such a great success, why is Obama constantly altering it and giving breaks to favored pals and select groups so that they don’t have to suffer under the law?

New York Anti-Gun Zealot Arrested for Taking Gun to School, Wants Absolution

Dwayne Ferguson an African American community activist and vehement anti-gun campaigner who worked tirelessly for New York’s gun grabbing SAFE Act was arrested last week for carrying a concealed weapon into a grade school. He said he “forgot” he had the gun on him and wants to be given a pass on the violation.

Last week, Ferguson, the leader of the extremist anti-gun group MAD DADS, was the cause of a lockdown of Harvey Austin Elementary, in Buffalo, New York. Police responded to a call about a man with a gun on school grounds with their search ending when they found Ferguson’s handgun.

The activist, who helps run an after-school program, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, including having a loaded weapon on school grounds–charges now enhanced by the anti-gun SAFE Act. He could be sentenced to up to four years in prison for the violation.

He pleaded not guilty to the crime saying he should be given a pass because he merely “forgot” that he had his pistol on him and since he has a legal concealed carry permit he thinks he should be let off the hook.

NAACP Tells Voter ID Protesters They Must Have ID to Join Protest

Remember this: having to have an ID to vote is raaaacist. But apparently, having to have an ID to join a protest about voter ID is… not? That is what the NAACP decided this month in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Blogger Sister Toldjah has the story of the “Moral March” that the NAACP is organizing in Raleigh intended to denounce all sort of racist things in the US today, one of which is voter ID–something leftists claim is “suppression” of the vote.

But as news got out about the march plans, an info sheet from the NCAAP came to light telling marchers what they should and shouldn’t do to participate in the event. One of the “Dos” was that marchers had to have a valid ID to be allowed to board the buses to get to the march.

Era of Obama: Number of Americans Renouncing Citizenship Soars

During the age of Obama, Americans have renounced their citizenship at record numbers. In fact in four out of Obama’s five years in the White House, expatriation numbers set record highs.

Just as an example, during all eight years of George W. Bush’s terms in office, 3,865 Americans renounced their citizenship and moved overseas. But during Obama’s first five years fully 7,988 Americans quit being Americans and in 2013 expatriation soared to 2,999, a record that smashed the previous high of 1,781 set in Obama’s third year in office.

Much of this is due to the outrageous tax situation that the US forces on Americans that live abroad. Ridiculously, the US is the only nation in the world that forces citizens that live permanently abroad to pay taxes on their income to the US even if derived from overseas sources.

This situation has gotten worse recently with the IRS attempting to force forcing countries to report US citizens living abroad to US authorities.

The left was ecstatic over Coca-Cola’s decision to air a commercial during the Super Bowl that featured as its sound track the song America The Beautiful. Oh, they weren’t ecstatic because of the song. They were ecstatic that Coke decided to have the song sung in a myriad of foreign languages. They weren’t excited over an American song they were happy that Coke decided to snub English and American traditions, of course.

Naturally, the retort against those that were upset that Coke produced the song in a string of foreign tongues is that they are “racists” and “haters” who hate the fact that there are people other than White, English-speakers in the US.

Just as naturally, this is simply not why people were upset at Coke.

Coke posted a press release claiming that its commercial was “a salute to America” and that “the ad features real people enjoying each other and a Coke.”

Further explaining the commercial in the press release, Katie Bayne, President, North America Brands, Coca-Cola North America, said, “For 127 years, Coca-Cola has been proud to be a part of bringing friends and families together while memories are made. With ‘It’s Beautiful,’ we are simply showing that America is beautiful, and Coke is for everyone.”

California’s Gun Confiscation Program Based on Faulty Gun Registry

If you need any proof at all that governments in this very country intend to use gun registries as a means to track down and confiscate our firearms, California is only the latest example to prove it.

California used its registry of guns to begin a program of confiscating guns from people they claim are “criminals.”

But the system the state has devised to identify these evil-doers seems to be quite screwed up. Just ask Bakersfield resident Michael Merritt who was confronted with this roving goon squad of cops that have been cruising the state and confiscating guns from people who may or may not be guilty of owning guns in violation of “the law.”

‘The View’s’ Goldberg Upset Over Conservative Fill-In Hosts

This week ABC’s morning gabfest The View has been featuring conservative women as fill-in hosts but liberal Whoopi Goldberg was not happy at all about the inclusion of the conservatives dismissing it as a mere sweeps week stunt.

On Monday, Dana Loesch sat on the panel and on Tuesday HotAir’s Mary Katharine Ham co-hosted but before the week began Goldberg was disgusted enough to Tweet that the whole thing was a stunt. She also warned that no one should get mad at her because she doesn’t schedule guests.

On February 2, lefty actress Elizabeth Perkins Tweeted to Goldberg that she was unhappy with the coming inclusion of conservative women.

“I’m very surprised by The View booking Dana Loesch,” Perkins Tweeted. “There is no compromise with her, no solution other than more guns. Sad.”

Goldberg Tweeted a reply agreeing with Perkins and then dismissed the idea of having conservative women on the show as just a ratings stunt.

“Yeah.. Me too,” Goldberg Tweeted. “but it’s sweeps apparently.. & they are going for ratings I’m sure.”

It should be noted that Goldberg Tweeted her disgust with having voices other than liberal ones on her show before the week began. As the week began, though, Goldberg seemed to get a bit tired of all the liberal complaints about the decision to have the two conservative women on the show.

By Tuesday, Goldberg Tweeted, “Hey you don’t like a guest on @theviewtv tell them NOT me cos I don’t book the show. HOWEVER it is called the View & u don’t have 2agree.”

Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee from Texas thinks it is the job of Congress to write a President’s Executive Orders. Apparently she doesn’t “get” that Obama is in the executive branch (hence the “executive” part of the Executive Orders) and she is in the legislative branch.

Jackson Lee made these ill-informed comments during a January 29 press conference ostensibly to tout the Democrat’s Full Employment Caucus (what ever that is supposed to mean).

As she spoke, Jackson Lee claimed that she hoped that Congress could “give President Obama a number of executive orders that he can sign.”

Obama is importing Germany’s former health minister, Daniel Bahr, to help push the President’s failed Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. He is also joining the extremist, left-wing think tank, the Center for American Progress (CAP).

Bahr lost his government job in Germany last September when his party couldn’t muster enough votes to stay in power. He was quoted as telling his fellow Germans that he’d “find something” to do.

Time to Stop Supporting the Girl Scouts

For a few years now I have been seeing stories about how the Girl Scouts are pushing abortion harder and harder. At first the references to the organization’s campaign in favor of abortion was disparate and isolated. But now that they are pushing for Texas candidate Wendy Davis, it’s finally all too much. It is time to stop supporting the Girl Scouts.

For me, in years past I maintained that you shouldn’t hold the national organization to task for what local groups did. But as the connections mounted year in and year out, it all became too much to ignore. Now, despite what the national organization claims, it is simply impossible to believe that the GS doesn’t materially support abortion quite despite what they claim as an official policy.

Several national pro-life groups have banded together this year to officially boycott the Girl Scouts over its support of abortion, most especially its ties to the baby-killing group Planned Parenthood.

Granted the Girl Scouts claim that their official position on abortion is to have no position on abortion. But the GS’s actions speak to the opposite.

In fact, the GS denies that they have any ties at all to Planned Parenthood. However, they have recently come to tout Texas abortion pusher Wendy Davis as an important “role model” for their girls and have in the past pushed Planned Parenthood leaders and operatives as “role models” for girls to look up to. The GS has also frequently pushed Planned Parenthood resources on their girls.

But to have “no position” would mean to avoid connecting with it pro or con in order to avoid a defacto position through support, yet the GS is thoroughly connected to Planned Parenthood despite the “no position” claim.

NY Firemen Tell Cuomo To Stop Using Them as Excuse for Gun Grabbing

Firemen in West Webster, New York are sick and tired of Governor Andrew Cuomo using them as an excuse for his unconstitutional gun grabbing.

One of the main excuses New York Governor Cuomo used to institute his latest anti-Second Amendment law, the so-called SAFE Act, was the attack suffered by firemen in West Webster. In 2012 as they responded to a fire two firemen were killed by a nut case with a gun.

On Christmas Eve in 2012, a criminal named William H. Spengler allegedly set a fire then laid in wait for firemen to arrive whereupon he began shooting at them. Two were killed in the ambush.

The psycho eventually killed himself but not before 8 nearby homes were destroyed by fire because firefighters were prevented from combating the flames due to the man’s gunfire.

With his introduction of his new (and useless) MyRA investment program, we discover that President Obama is so dismissive of following the law, he doesn’t even think that he has to abide by trademark and copyright laws.

A law abiding entrepreneur has one chore to satisfy before launching a new ad campaign, product, or offering and that is to search the trademark and copyright lists to make sure he isn’t stealing someone else’s intellectual property. But not if you’re president, apparently. No if you’re Barack Obama you can steal someone’s trademarked name with impunity.

During his low-rated, re-warmed State of the Union speech, President Obama proudly unveiled his new investment idea to the nation. He called it the “MyRA.”

MSNBC Tweets That Conservatives Will Hate Bi-Racial Family on Cheerios Super Bowl Ad

Liberals have nothing but hate in their souls… if they have souls, that is. This story is yet one more example of this truism. Take for proof a Tweet on the official MSNBC Twitter account that claimed that conservatives will hate the new Cheerios Super Bowl ad because it features a bi-racial family.

Here is a screen shot of the Tweet:

A screen shot was necessary because MSNBC deleted the Tweet later in the evening. A Tweet explaining the deletion said, “We are deleting the earlier offensive tweet. It does not reflect msnbc’s position and we apologize.”

Yeah, Riiiight. Sure it doesn’t.

America’s Top Colleges Have Done Away With Teaching U.S. History

A new report from Fox News on the trend among liberal arts colleges to drop any requirement that students take U.S. history classes to earn a degree is to me a mixed bag. Sure it is outrageous that our schools are telling students that U.S. history isn’t important, yet, it’s probably good kids aren’t learning the skewed version of U.S. history they’ll likely get from our extremist, left-wing professors who hate this country.

For Fox News, Joshua Rhett Miller notes that U.S. history “doesn’t make the grade” at most of America’s liberal arts colleges. One school even allows students to replace U.S. history with a class called “The Rhetoric of Alien Abduction.”

Of the 29 top-ranked liberal arts colleges, only the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Military Academy, and the United States Naval Academy requires a survey course in American history. One school, Claremont McKenna in California, requires U.S. history or economics but not both. Just two of those institutions require an economics course, and five require a survey course in literature, according to the report.

The report also pointed out that a poll of Americans found that 70 percent feel that colleges should require basic courses in math, science, economics, and U.S. history, yet many don’t.
