If you are like many folks, you’ll have missed the beginning of the controversy over comments about homosexuality made by Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson and you’ll have heard about it only after everyone started talking about it. So, you may have missed the meat of the matter by listening only to the commentators yammering about what Phil said. But if you want the whole story in one well written piece, check out David J. Theroux’s “Duck Dynasty and the Secular Theocracy” because it’ll give you the whole story from the beginning.
In a two part posting, Theroux, founder and president and CEO of The Independent Institute, did a fantastic job relaying what Robertson said and the reaction it fostered.
In part one Theroux details Robertson’s December interview in GQ magazine where he paraphrased a Bible-based list of sins one of which is the act of homosexuality. Then the author goes on to review the initial reaction to those comments.

The Best Primer for Phil Robertson’s ‘Duck Dynasty’ Controversy”

In a December 28 Facebook posting advertising its article on the A&E network’s decision to reinstate Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, the Denver Post called Robertson a “hate-speech spewer.” So much for an unbiased reporting of the news.
Here is the nonsense that the media creates with its untrue “reporting” of the “news.” A gay teen in Louisiana now claims that because of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, he has been made to feel “unsafe” living as a gay person in Louisiana.
Gay British actor Alan Cumming, was not very happy with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal for coming to the support of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson. In fact, Cumming called Jindal a “dickbrain” for coming to Robertson’s support.
Ever the wild-eyed, anti-American, leftist ranters, MSNBC is now saying that the Robertson family of TV’s Duck Dynasty are little else but part of that sheet-wearing, white supremacist culture.
The A&E network has suddenly reversed its widely panned decision to “indefinitely suspend” Duck Dynasty family patriarch Phil Robertson and has announced that Robertson is now back on the show.

Phil Robertson of TV’s Duck Dynasty is a racist! So says the race-pushing group the NCAAP. The long-time race group is only the latest extremist, left-wing organization to come out and condemn the patriarch of the TV reality show clan.
Gay groups don’t care about gay slurs. They care about liberalism. So, when a liberal utters a gay slur it is brushed off as unimportant. But if a conservative seems to say something bad about gays, why, it is the end of the world. That is the case here with the recent condemnation that the gay group GLAAD doled out to Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson.

In a recent interview Oprah Winfrey said that the only reason someone wouldn’t like President Obama is because they are racists and then said that to fix the country all you white, racists will just have to die.
A Florida middle school demanded that a student remove a t-shirt from the Duck Dynasty TV show emblazoned with the word “redneck” across it claiming it was “offensive.”
The clan leader of the Robertson family on A&E’s Duck Dynasty has a stance on gun control and, like always, the left won’t like it. He says that we don’t need gun control. We need “sin control.”

Meghan McCain is about to start a new “reality” TV show called Raising McCain soon to debut on the new Pivot cable TV channel. But true to her past five-years of public life, she can’t help taking jabs at Republicans and conservatives as she does it.

MSNBC host Thomas Roberts, an openly gay man, appeared on the network to express his confusion on how GOP National Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Communications Director Sean Spicer could congratulate him for his recent gay wedding yet preside over a party that stands against same sex marriage.
