The woman gunned down by Washington’s Capitol Police near the White House today has been identified. Her name was Miriam Carey and she reportedly has a history of mental problems.
Miriam Carey–who formerly lived in Brooklyn and lately in Stamford, CT–worked as a dental hygienist in the Connecticut prison system.
Apparently Carey, 34, had a history of mental illness. The woman’s mother said she was suffering from postpartum depression.
At about 2PM EST, Carey began an argument with Capitol Police on the streets near the White House. The argument escalated quickly and Carey took off and began to drive her car erratically with the police in hot pursuit.

The family of one of the victims in the murderous crime perpetrated at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, Connecticut last year won’t have their Second Amendment rights taken from them even though they lost one of their dear ones to a killer using an AR-15 rifle that terrible day.
The Republican establishment led by such folks as Senators Mitch McConnell and John McCain don’t want to fight the Democrats. But after this latest Obamacare funding fight, we have discovered that there is a side they will attack: other Republicans.
Another day, another extremist, anti-American “professor” caught lying to our kids and pushing a far left agenda, this time at the University of Maryland where a so-called professor is saying that the Trayvon Martin case somehow proves that it is now legal to hunt down and kill black kids in America today.
Muslims in the Montgomery County schools in Rockville, Maryland are campaigning for public schools to take Islamic holidays off along with Christian and Jewish holidays. So, this week, the terror-tied Muslim group CAIR sponsored a rally to help push the issue.
And now the ultimate in “zero tolerance” stupidity. A school has expelled a boy from school because they heard he was playing with a toy gun in his own front yard.
Showing the essential hypocrisy just below the surface of all liberals, Paul Nickerson, a so-called “worker’s rights” activist in Maine, filmed himself harassing a ticket agent at a bus terminal after the agent misunderstood his ticket order. The liberal is heard telling the man that he hopes he loses his job to an electronic ticket machine. So much for “worker solidarity,” eh?
Liberal Illinois is one of the most inhospitable states for Constitutional rights in America and because of that and other considerations yet another gun manufacturer is closing up shop in the Land of Lincoln and fleeing to a neighboring state.
It isn’t America any more when a parent can’t even ask a civil question at a town hall without having the jackbooted thugs that claim to “serve” the people forcibly ejecting him from the room. But that is what happened in the People’s Republic of Maryland this month when a parent was asking how the school curriculum would prepare kids for college.
The people that were closest to Navy Yard killer Aaron Alexis have revealed several details about the last few years of his life, such details as his increasing dissatisfaction with America and a growing sense of entitlement, a feeling that people owed him something that he wasn’t getting.

Eleanor Norton Holmes is the sole Representative of the District of Columbia in Congress and she is clearly delusional when she says the Navy Yard shooting wasn’t “terrorism.” But it got worse when she then followed that up saying that D.C is one of the safest cities in the USA despite that it has such a high crime/murder rate.
On September 11, the City of Chicago finally dumped its unconstitutional requirement that gun owners register their guns with the city.
California already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation and if the state’s extremist Democrats get their way, they are going to make those laws even harder on law abiding citizens.
An employee of Palm Beach County posted some harsh comments about Islam on his Facebook page on the anniversary of 9/11 and now faces possible firing or discipline at work for making the post.
Remember this: liberal education policy maintains that Christians are evil. We must also remember that our system of miseducation enforces that position every day. We see it this time in Tennessee where a school has told a little girl that she isn’t allowed to write about God.
A court in New York has decided that even blacks should not be allowed to use the word “nig**r” at work. I have to say, at some point I have to agree with this verdict. If African Americans can oppress the free speech of white people for using the word “nig**r,” then why should they themselves be allowed to use it? If the word is bad, then it is bad no matter who uses it… right? It is a total lack of logic that has always puzzled many.
