Sports Illustrated’s ‘Racist’ Swimsuit Issue

-By Warner Todd Huston

Everything is racist these days. Even the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, apparently. At least that is the latest tempest in a teapot being stirred by our busy race merchants.

The website Jezebel is the latest to stir the pot claiming that because SI used locations on all seven continents and featured people in native garb as a back drop for its swimsuit models, why the magazine must be racist.

The photos shot in Spain featured matadors. In China the model was photographed surrounded by young girls in traditional Chinese garb. In another shot in China an older man in a bamboo cooley hat made ready to pole-push a homemade raft as the model sat alluringly by. In Namibia a white model was shown next to a black man in traditional garb.

Was it highlighting beauty and celebrating diversity? Or was it just stereotyping? Whatever its intent, with its “diverse” photos, SI can’t seem to win.

Al Jazeera Sends Lobbyists to Capitol Hill

-By Warner Todd Huston

After buying Current TV, Al Gore’s struggling cable TV network, Al Jazeera has now hired a lobbying firm to push its interests in Washington D.C.

The Muslim-owned TV network hired the firm of DLA Piper to ply the halls of Congress pushing its issues on our elected officials.

The official filing by DLA Piper says that the firm will be providing “informational communications regarding client’s cable television channel.”

One of the firm’s lobbyists is Mark Paoletta, a former chief counsel for oversight and investigations for the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

DLA Piper is an international firm with offices in 30 countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Current TV was purchased in December by Al Jazeera America Holdings, a U.S. subsidiary of the Qatar-based TV network.

Scott Brown Joining Fox News

-By Warner Todd Huston

Fox has announced that former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown will join the network as a contributor debuting on the Sean Hannity show on February 13.

Recently a handful of Fox News contributors–including Sarah Palin and Dick Morris–have found contracts un-renewed. Brown joins Dennis Kucinich as the network’s newest contributor.

Executive vice president of programming for Fox News Bill Shine released a statement saying, “Senator Brown’s dedication to out-of-the box thinking on key issues makes him an important voice in the country and we are looking forward to his contributions across all Fox News platforms.”

DC’s New Occupy Wall Street Comic Books Coming

-By Warner Todd Huston

Despite that the Occupy Wall Street movement is essentially dead, DC Comics–publisher of Superman and Batman–is launching two new titles that will make heroes of the “99%” and might present the rich as an evil as bad as the strongest super villain.

One of the new books, to be titled The Movement, is to be about “power–who owns it, who uses it, who suffers from its abuse.”

Big Three Nets Slant Overwhelmingly For Obama’s Gun Ban Campaign

-By Warner Todd Huston

A new study of coverage by the big three networks of President Obama’s anti-gun crusade shows an overwhelmingly positive slant toward the President’s policy ideas at an 8 to 1 ratio.

The study conducted by the Media Research Center reviewed coverage from December 14 to January 17, or from the day of the crime at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, to the day after Obama made a speech surrounded by children who purportedly sent him letters pleading for more gun control. MRC reviewed the evening newscasts as well as the three networks’ morning shows.

The results showed that stories that pushed for more gun control vastly outnumbered stories that opposed gun control by 99 to 12, or a ratio of 8 to 1.

Dick Morris Out at Fox News

-By Warner Todd Huston

The next in a line of recent Fox News departures is on-air contributor Dick Morris whose contract, it has been announced, will not be renewed. The departure was reported early on Tuesday and not long after Fox confirmed that it will not be renewing Morris’ contract.

Morris spent many of his last appearances on Fox News predicting a big victory for Mitt Romney in the late presidential election. He has not appeared on the cable network since November 12.

As we know, Morris missed that prediction by quite a lot. The former Clinton operative later apologized for his misstep, but perhaps his prediction that Romney would win big was the last missed predication Fox executives could take.

Hawaii Five-O’s Anti-Gun Tirade

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the Monday’s broadcast of the long awaited remake of a popular 1970s era episode of Hawaii Five-O, one of the main characters went on a rant against “gun nuts” and the lack of both strict regulations and a pervasive, privacy-invading registration process. But later in the show the same character was apologetic over not having a warrant to review records of owners of post office boxes because it is an invasion of their right to privacy.

The episode, titled “Hookman,” is a remake of the 1973 fan favorite from the original Jack Lord series and featured a double amputee who lost his hands in the commission of a crime decades ago who then went on a campaign of revenge against members of the Hawaii Police Department that put him in jail.

But this year’s remake was not a carbon copy of the original as, unlike the 1973 episode, in this version there was time enough for one of the characters to go on a tirade against guns, gun laws and gun owners.

In the original episode, one of the clues left by the killer was a rifle with a golden plaque affixed to it bearing the name of the policeman slain by the killer. In the new one, however, the clue was a rifle shell casing with the name engraved on it. In the original, Jack Lord’s Officer McGarrett went to a plaque-maker’s shop to try and find out to whom the proprietor sold the item. In the remake, the team went to a local gun shop to try and chase down the shell casing. This alteration in the original script specifically set today’s character up for his anti-gun rant.

ABC Ignores Tim Scott’s Senate Appointment in Dec., By Jan. Hails Mo Cowan’s as ‘History’

-By Warner Todd Huston

In December, ABC’s World News saw no news at all in the historic appointment of African American Tim Scott to the Senate in South Carolina. No mention was made of it during the broadcast.

Only a month later, though, the same program suddenly hailed African American William “Mo” Cowan’s appointment to the Senate as history making.

When Republican Tim Scott was appointed to fill retiring Senator Jim DeMint’s Senate seat he became the first African American from South Carolina to be sent to the Senate since 1881. Further, when he took his seat he was the only black Senator from either party in Washington D.C. But despite all these notable historic facts, ABC’s World News never mentioned Scott’s appointment.

However, this month when the Governor of Massachusetts appointed African American, Democrat Mo Cowan to finish out John Kerry’s term, ABC suddenly found it to be a moment worthy of coverage.

Obama Operatives Training Media How to Sell Obamacare

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Old Media is getting a little help from team Obama on how to report about Obamacare the “correct” way. To achieve that goal, Obama operatives are setting up propaganda symposiums for journalists and giving large cash donations to journalism associations to help spread Obama’s word.

This Obamacare propaganda campaign seriously blurs the line between government and “journalism” and seems to be a blatant attempt by team Obama to write the media’s Obamacare stories for them.

Rusty Weiss recently discussed a series of large donations made to the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) the latest of which was donated expressly for the purpose of relaying the left-wing agenda on Obamacare.

The donation, a $15,000 grant, was made by the Commonwealth Fund, a group now headed by former Obama operative David Blumenthal who served as the national coordinator for Obama’s Health Information Technology effort.

NBC Criticized For Casting Mike Tyson as Victim of Abuse

-By Warner Todd Huston

NBC is taking some flack for casting Mike Tyson–a convicted rapist and accused serial abuser–as a victim of abuse in an upcoming episode of the TV show “Law & Order: SVU.”

In the episode Tyson will portray a death row inmate who was abused as a child and who was convicted of murdering one of his abusers.

The network originally scheduled the episode, which finished filming months ago, to air on February 13 but since rescheduled it to air on February 6 in order to distance its air date from an international, anti-violence event planned for February 14. The international event, the One Billion Rising march, is meant to raise awareness of abuse and violence against women.

The casting was protested by rape survivor Marcie Kaveney who started a petition to have NBC recast the role removing the convicted Tyson. The petition got over 7,000 signatures.

Obama shocked the country with his horrible debate performance last October. After it was all over many of his supporters blamed debate moderator Jim Leher of PBS for the debacle–especially on Twitter. But Leher remained blissfully ignorant of all the criticism because he refuses to bother with Twitter.

The criticism of Leher’s debate moderation was pretty stiff on Twitter and mostly from Obama’s supporters. But Politico reports that Leher says he never saw any of it.

“I never read any of them, never got a report on them, didn’t want to know anything about them,” Leher said as he sat on Kalb Report panel at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Monday night.

Bay Buchanan Quits TV Punditry for Real Estate Sales After Romney’s ‘Brutal’ Defeat

Romney’s loss “was brutal,” Buchanan said. “I think it’s the toughest because we really expected to win it.”

Buchanan reported that two days after the election she began taking real estate classes, quickly earned her Virginia license, and soon joined the real estate firm of McEnearney Associates Inc. in McLean, Va. She also hopes to earn licenses in several nearby states

A Marvelous Little Disney Short Video

-By Warner Todd Huston

Folks, Disney has made a little short film to showcase an animation technique… and I couldn’t care less about that. But this little film the Mouse made to showcase the technique is a truly marvelous short film.

Very affecting, and totally innocent.

Watch this little movie. You’ll be happy you spent the 6 and a half minutes.

This was a delightful little flick.

If you are at all interested the technique they were selling, though, here is the description from the page:

Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with the Oscar®-nominated short, “Paperman.” Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him. Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Paperman” pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction.

Gross: Oprah’s New Wrinkle Cream Fore Skin

-By Warner Todd Huston

Oprah Winfrey apparently has a wonderful beauty secret but at least one group wants to know why she is endorsing an anti-wrinkle cream that is made of–ick– human foreskins.

The $150-per-ounce miracle cream, made by SkinMedica, is said by some to be made of the delicate, left-over bits of baby boys who underwent a circumcision.

Glen Callender is the founder of the Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project and to raise awareness of the issue, he and his group protested outside an appearance by the former daytime TV giant at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on December 24 where fans paid $350 a ticket to see the Queen of Talk.

Callender says that Oprah is a bit hypocritical to crusade against ritual female circumcision as practiced in many Muslim countries yet ignore male circumcision in her own backyard.

“Imagine how Oprah would respond if a skin cream for men went on the market that was made from parts of the genitalia of little girls,” Callender said to a Vancouver-based newspaper. “That would be an outrage and rightly so.”

Ashton Kutcher’s Apple Computer Founder BioPic Slammed as ‘Totally Wrong’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Actor Ashton Kutcher is starring in jOBS, an upcoming film based on the life of Apple Computer founder Steve Jobs. But at least one person intimate with the Mac mastermind is not impressed. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is slamming Kutcher’s film as “totally wrong.”

Apple co-wiz, Woz, made his comments after seeing a clip from the movie showing the 34-year-old actor seeming to portray a period in Apple’s creation when Steve Jobs was a much younger person than actor Krutcher. Wozniak felt their “relationship” was portrayed incorrectly, as well.

“Not close…we never had such interaction and roles…I’m not even sure what it’s getting at…personalities are very wrong although mine is closer,” Woz wrote to the tech site Gizmodo.

Woz also noted that it wasn’t Jobs that was the early, far-seeing computer maker that foresaw the social changes that computers would eventually bring. In fact, Jobs came to the computer club that helped spawn what would become Apple Computers after the home computer’s creation was envisioned.

Actor John Leguizamo a Big Fan of Big Government

-By Warner Todd Huston

Actor John Leguizamo refuses to employ any cagey politically correct speak about his love for big government. There’s no dancing around or soft-pedaling with him. For Leguizamo, big government is all good.

In a recent interview with Nicholas Ballasy, the actor asked “What’s wrong with big government?”

“I’ve never had a problem with big government. I’ve felt our country’s always done best during Eisenhower, FDR, when we had we had big government … We’re not in a fascist state, so what’s the problem with big government? It’s not a problem. It makes things better,” the actor said.

Leguizamo also went on to push for more regulation on Wall Street and claimed that there needs to be more government funding “in the arts.”

He also seemed to have no problem paying even more taxes than he now does.

“I think with the taxing the rich now that’s finally happening now which we need to do – I mean, back in the 50’s and 60’s, if you made money you paid like 70 percent in taxes or even higher than that, and that’s when we started booming and creating a middle class,” he said.

Julian Assange Calls WikiLeaks Movie ‘Massive Propaganda’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Julian Assange, the famed head of the website WikiLeaks, is not happy with the upcoming DreamWorks film based on his famous document-leaking website. As far as Assange is concerned the film is just “massive propaganda.”

Via videolink, Assange recently told a gathering of the Oxford Union debate that the movie, titled The Fifth Estate and directed by Bill Condon, is nothing but a “massive propaganda attack on WikiLeaks and the character of my staff.”

Assange was speaking from the Ecuadorian embassy in London since Ecuador offered him asylum from countries seeking to prosecute him for his release of many thousands of pages of secret government documents.

The Internet interloper told his audience that he had an advanced copy of the shooting script for the film and said it begins with Iranian officials working on building a nuclear bomb. The WikiLeaks founder said that the reason for such an opening was to “fan the flames of war” and that Iran’s nuclear bomb has nothing to do with him and his website. “It is a lie upon lie,” he said.

Dredding: Making Another Comic Character Gay?

-By Warner Todd Huston

In yet another example of the homosexualization of our comic books, an upcoming issue of the Judge Dredd was recently rumored to feature the titular character coming out of the closet as a gay character.

The comic portrays a dystopian future where the earth is made up of Mega cities and wastelands, where life is cheap and violence ubiquitous, and “judges” roam the many highways on motorcycles charged with dispensing “justice” on the spot, no courts necessary. Judge Dredd is the main character and is portrayed as an emotionless, incorruptible policeman/judge that is little else but a killing machine.

You might recall the 1995 movie based on the comic where Sylvester Stallone uttered one of his famous movie lines: “I am the law.”

Earlier this month a few panels of the next issue were leaked showing the Judge kissing a Mohawk-wearing thug in a gay bar. The panels sparked quite a lot of response from fans, much of it negative.

Woodman, Woodman, Spare That Tree–1913

Bert Williams, 1913

Bert Williams

Woodman, Woodman, Spare That Tree

Lyrics

A great big tree grows near our house
It’s been there quite some time
This tree’s a slipp’ry elm tree and very hard to climb
But when my wife starts after me, up in that tree I roost
I go up like a healthy squirrel and never need no boost
The other day a woodman came to chop the refuge down
And carve it into kindling wood, to peddle ’round the town

I says to him, “I pray thee cease, desist, refrain and stop
Lay down that razor, man, chop not a single chop”

Woodman, woodman, spare that tree
Touch not a single bough
For years it has protected me
And I’ll protect it now
Chop down an oak, a birch or pine
But not this slipp’ry elm of mine
It’s the only tree that my wife can’t climb
So spare that tree

I said to him, “You see that hole
Up near that old treetop
I’ve got five dollars there, that’s yours, if you refrain to chop
No beast but me can climb that tree, ’cause it’s too slippery
I can’t get up myself, unless my wife is after me
So get my wife and I’ll call her a very naughty word
And then you’ll see me give an imitation of a bird
You may not know just where to go, when my wife gets around
But when she comes, remember this, if I’m not on the ground”

Woodman, woodman, spare that tree
Touch not a single bough
For years it has protected me
And I’ll protect it now
Chop down an oak, a birch or pine
But not this slipp’ry elm of mine
It’s the only tree that my wife can’t climb
So spare that tree

Kirsten Powers: Dems Less Tolerant of Dissent, They’re Used to Controlling the Media

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the January 23 broadcast of Fox News’ “Bill O’Reilly Show,” liberal commentator Kirsten Powers found herself agreeing with the concept that liberals are less tolerant of opposing opinions. Powers went further, though, positing that this intolerance might stem from the fact that liberals are too used to controlling the media and not being confronted by opposition.

Powers went on to say that it was “very disconcerting and unsettling” to liberals when they are confronted with ideas they don’t agree with.

During his “personal story” segment, O’Reilly brought up a study from George Washington University that found that liberals that use the Internet are less tolerant of opposing ideas than conservative Internet users. Interestingly, Powers, of the left-leaning Daily Beast website, tended to agree with those findings.

You know, I have to say this actually jibes with sort of real life experience that I have found, especially as I came into more contact with conservatives as I got older because I used to really live very much in a Democratic bubble when I worked in politics. I did find that they were much more open to sort of hearing other viewpoints, where I think liberals because they are so used to controlling all the media pretty much, academia, that for them when they hear things that don’t jibe with what they want to hear, it’s very disconcerting and unsettling to them. And it doesn’t surprise me that they’re really less interested, whereas conservatives are kind of used to it. They’ve lived in a world where pretty much, you know, the whole media has been sort of liberal.

Mimicking her liberal acquaintances, Powers went on saying, “liberals are sort of taken aback because they feel like, ‘What are you talking about? Everybody knows that what I think is right and nobody thinks differently.'”

Singer Al Green Turns Down Invite to Sing at Obama’s Second Inaugural

-By Warner Todd Huston

At a 2012 campaign fundraiser, President Barack Obama sang a line of Al Green’s hit “Let’s Stay Together” as the singer watched from the audience. Green, however, turned down an invite to attend and perform at the President’s second inauguration.

Green’s reps told the Associated Press that he had to turn down the President’s invitation to sing at this year’s event because of a scheduling conflict.

In 2012, while on stage at Harlem’s Apollo Theater, Obama sang a line of Green’s song but quickly deferred to the singer, who was in the audience.

“Don’t worry Rev., I can not sing like you,” the President said. “I just wanted to show my appreciation.”

In an interview after the 2009 event, Green said he was thrilled by Obama’s attention.

“I was thrilled that the President even mentioned my name and if the President can get the economy going again and get everything going that he wants to, then we’ll all be together.”

Through his reps, Green said he’d be “honored” to perform for the President at some other time.

Artist Debuts Obama, Nude With Pancakes Painting

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ebay seller freeperdan has done it again. For Obama’s 2013 inauguration the artist has uncorked yet another masterpiece featuring a nude Obama with a unicorn and pancakes.

Freeperdan has a long history of creating such paintings always with similar themes. Nude folks, pancakes, and unicorns are ubiquitous with the artist’s works.

Freeperdan has painted cats with pancakes, guns with pancakes, unicorns with Stalin and TV character Gregory House (and Obama), Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Ayn Rand… with pancakes. He’s even done one with Deadmaus5 and pancakes.

Needless to say, there’s lots of pancakes.

Several years ago I contacted Mr. freeperdan, whose real name is Dan Lacey, to ask about his art. He told me he is a “painter of pancakes” and spares no political party from his brush. He also told told Roll Call last year that he generally considers himself to be a conservative, not a liberal.

Leonardo DiCaprio to Fly Jet Around World To Save the Environment

-By Warner Todd Huston

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is taking a break from acting to help save the environment by pursuing his environmental activism but maybe someone needs to tell him how “saving the environment” might work.

DiCaprio told members of the entertainment media that after doing so many movies in a row he’s tired and needs a break from acting. And what better way to recharge his batteries than to jump hip-deep into his enviro-activism?

Said the diminutive actor, “I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.”

Wait. He’s going to use a private jet and fly around the world creating global warming in order to “save the environment”? Isn’t that a bit of a contradiction? Don’t enviro-nuts say that modern transportation adds to global warming?

Me thinks that ol’ Leo is a bit confused on how to save the environment.

But, I suppose, like most liberals, he feels he can exempt himself from causing environmental damage because he means well. Shades of Al Jazeera Gore.

Fewer Folks At Home Watched Obama Inauguration Two

-By Warner Todd Huston

Compared to 2009, turnout in Washington for Obama’s second inauguration was hundreds of thousands of attendees lower this time around. But in-person visitors wasn’t the only number that suffered. There were fewer viewers at home for the event, too.

According to Gallup only 38 percent of respondents watched Obama’s second inaugural with an additional 28 percent saying they kept up after the news coverage afterward. This compared to 2009’s numbers where 60 percent said they watched the inauguration and an additional 20 percent watched the post inaugural news coverage.

Gallup also found that fewer Americans still have “hope” for an Obama presidency. In 2009 62 percent felt “more hopeful” with their outlook upon Obama’s inauguration but this time he only garnered 37 percent in that category.

Gallup concludes that it “certainly would be understandable for Americans to be less excited about a president’s second inauguration,” but that as Obama takes on his second term the nation shows “many signs” that it has not fully recovered.

China Censors Bond Flick ‘Skyfall’

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Chinese government apparently wasn’t happy with the latest James Bond movie, “Skyfall.” Reports say Chinese censors edited many scenes and changed subtitles for others ahead of its debut this week.

One edit was made to a scene where a Chinese security guard is murdered in a Shanghai skyscraper by one of the film’s villains.

In another scene, Daniel Craig’s James Bond asks a woman if a tattoo she sports was given to her by Chinese mobsters as a result of having been forced into prostitution as a child. Craig still says this line in English, but the Chinese subtitles change the context to read as Bond merely asking the woman if she was connected to organized crime. The subtitles eliminate any thought that Chinese mobsters might force a woman into sex slavery.

All references to the film’s villain being tortured by Chinese authorities were also removed.

This isn’t wholly uncommon, of course. Chinese authorities edit many of the foreign movies it deigns to allow its people to see.

SyFy Show Attacked by Gay Group

-By Warner Todd Huston

If you’ve watched SyFy, the science fiction cable channel, you may be aware of a show called Lost Girl. The show is well known as being quite “inclusive” commonly portraying gay, lesbian and cross dressing characters. Despite this fealty to the cause, a national gay group is still attacking the show over a recent episode.

Lost Girl follows the exploits of a heroine named Bo who investigates crimes involving supernatural or mythic beings such as vampires and the like. The show is in its third season on SyFy.

After the debut of its third season opener, the show, a Canadian import, has apparently made an enemy of GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, over the way a particular “transgender” character was treated.

Even though the “transgender” character happened to be the villain in the episode, the gay advocacy group was angered by the violent and humiliating end the character experienced.

The villain was a warden in a woman’s prison run by fabled Amazons and portrayed as female through most of the show but the reveal at the end proved the character to actually be a man. The evil warden ended the episode dragged brutally out of the scene after being viciously grabbed in the crotch.

Later other characters insist on referring to the warden as a “he” instead of a “she” despite that he chooses to appear as a woman. This particularly upset GLAAD because other characters denied the “choice” of gender chosen by the warden.

AMC Developing Sitcom Titled ‘We Hate Paul Revere’

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of America’s most famous patriots is slated for a little attention on the AMC cable network–perhaps regrettably so. There may soon be a bit of hate going around for him with a new AMC sitcom in development called “We Hate Paul Revere.” So much for sitcoms where “everyone loves” someone, eh? And so much for patriotism.

According to reports, the show is being written and executive produced by writer-actors Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner. The show apparently centers on two brothers living in Colonial Boston who are not fans of famed Boston entrepreneur, Paul Revere.

Revere was a well-known businessman and silversmith in his day, but in ours he’s best known as one of the riders that caromed through Boston and nearby towns to warn patriots that “the British are coming.”

AMC has not officially picked up the show as of yet, nor has the cabler officially picked up any of the other few sitcoms it has greenlighted for development.

Picked up or no, the folks at Boston’s Paul Revere House aren’t very amused about the idea of their namesake becoming an object of sitcom derision.

The historical association immediately took to Twitter to express pique about the planned sitcom. On the Twitter accounts the Paul Revere historians and keepers of the Patriot’s image said “I hate this idea,” and “AMC, really?”

Rapper Thrown of Stage After Attacks on Obama, Limbaugh, Others

-By Warner Todd Huston

Rapper Lupe Fiasco lived down to his name at a recent corporate-sponsored inauguration party in Washington D.C. when he was thrown off the stage by the hosts for going on a tirade against President Obama, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck, audience members said.

During one of his “songs” the rapper informed the audience that he didn’t vote for President Obama and told them why, saying, “…and these same people supposedly telling us the truth. Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza strip was getting bombed. Obama didn’t say sh*t. That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either. I’m part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful.”

It wasn’t long before black-suited security guards mounted the stage and swept the rapper off, shutting down the concert.

Josh Rogin, a writer for Foreign Policy magazine, was in the audience and tweeted as the incident played out. In one Tweet, Rogin reported, “Lupe refused to move to the next song so a team of security guards came on stage and told him to go.”

Tom Foreman is one of CNN’s third tier reporters and is frequently seen covering a gamut of stories on “Anderson Cooper 360º,” “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” and other CNN shows.

Starting with his first letter on inauguration day in 2009, Foreman began his letter writing campaign congratulating President Obama and asking, “Do you have any idea what you’ve gotten yourself into?”

The creepiest aspect of this strange campaign is how Foreman ends nearly every letter pleading for Obama to give him a call. Thus far the President has not availed himself of that opportunity.

NRA More Popular Than Hollywood

With polls showing that our Second Amendment is still nearly as popular as ever, one is tempted to think that our guns are safe, for now. A new poll, for instance, even shows that the National Rifle Association is more popular than Hollywood.

The new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that even after the crime at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut ratings for the NRA did not much stray from the 41 percent approval it has enjoyed since 2011.

On the other hand, only 24 percent of respondents had a positive view of the entertainment industry.
