Era of Obama: Number of Americans Renouncing Citizenship Soars

During the age of Obama, Americans have renounced their citizenship at record numbers. In fact in four out of Obama’s five years in the White House, expatriation numbers set record highs.

Just as an example, during all eight years of George W. Bush’s terms in office, 3,865 Americans renounced their citizenship and moved overseas. But during Obama’s first five years fully 7,988 Americans quit being Americans and in 2013 expatriation soared to 2,999, a record that smashed the previous high of 1,781 set in Obama’s third year in office.

Much of this is due to the outrageous tax situation that the US forces on Americans that live abroad. Ridiculously, the US is the only nation in the world that forces citizens that live permanently abroad to pay taxes on their income to the US even if derived from overseas sources.

This situation has gotten worse recently with the IRS attempting to force forcing countries to report US citizens living abroad to US authorities.

How Much ‘Sin Taxes’ Do YOU Pay?

We all know about sales tax or income taxes because we see them coming right out of our sales or our income tax filings. But what about the so-called “sin taxes”? How much of those do we pay?

We don’t often see them as clearly because cigarette and alcohol taxes are sort of bundled right in with the purchase price of our goods. So, the effects of these taxes are nearly invisible to us.

Obama Imports ‘Advisor’ From Socialist Europe to Push Obamacare

Now Obama is importing big government advocates from Europe to help him push Obamacare on Americans.

Obama is importing Germany’s former health minister, Daniel Bahr, to help push the President’s failed Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. He is also joining the extremist, left-wing think tank, the Center for American Progress (CAP).

Bahr lost his government job in Germany last September when his party couldn’t muster enough votes to stay in power. He was quoted as telling his fellow Germans that he’d “find something” to do.

Apparently pushing big government boondoggles on Americans was the “something.”

But not if you’re president, apparently. No if you’re Barack Obama you can steal someone’s trademarked name with impunity.

Duane Lester of The Missouri Torch gives us the perfect example of this cynical example of the worst in politics with the story of Kit Bond’s 180 degree flip flop on expanding Medicaid made only because his new position as a lobbyist brings him boatloads of money.

Kit Bond was a Republican Senator from the State of Missouri and in 2010 he was 100 percent against expanding Medicaid in Missouri. He called the idea “horrific.”

Illinois Democrats Are Planning to Raise Income Taxes on the Middle Class

Illinois Democrats want to put a measure on the next ballot to get Illinoisans to agree to change the state constitution to allow a progressive income tax to be instituted. But Democrats are lying to the faces of every citizen when they say that this would only raise taxes on “the rich.” The fact is a progressive rate would immediately raise taxes on every single citizen not to mention open the door for a constant jiggering and re-jiggering of the rates–a jiggering that would only and always go upward.


Illinois State Senator Michael Connelly is leading the charge to stop the progressive tax scheme in Illinois.

Currently the state constitution has an amendment that stipulates that the state will only have an across the board flat tax for everyone. It won’t be higher for some and lower for others as a graduated tax is. Those who wrote this measure in the constitution put it into law because they felt that a flat tax would help small businesses and give the state’s tax structure some stability. Now, Democrats want to throw that stability to the four winds.

To sell the idea, Democrats are pretending that this progressive income tax would only hit “the rich,” but right at the outset this is a lie. Several proposals show that it would hit everyone right at the beginning.

Fox Business Network Steals Maria Bartiromo Away from CNBC

The other day I mentioned how interesting it was to see Fox Business Network continue to grow and make inroads into the ratings of the once wholly dominant CNBC. Today FBN announced that it has stolen away one of CNBC’s biggest names. FBN has announced that it has signed Maria Bartiromo to a multi-year contract.

According to the press release, FBN chief Roger Ailes proudly said, “I tapped Maria to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange while at CNBC, and I am delighted to have her join me once again alongside our star lineup at FOX Business”

Bartiromo had been with CNBC since 1993 and in 1995 became the first business journalist to report from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Before her long stint at CNBC, Bartiromo worked for CNN’s business news.

Illinois keeps racking up those plaudits as the worst of the worst states in the country, this time coming in second of the top states for outward migration. Illinois has seen more of its citizens fleeing its failing edifice than every other state but New Jersey.

This list is maintained by one of the nation’s largest moving companies, United Van Lines and is compiled every year as the company tracks the migrations statistics of the nation.

“As the nation’s largest household goods mover, United’s shipment data illustrates national state-to-state migration trends,” Carl Walter, vice president of United Van Lines said in a statement. “We’ve been tracking the number of inbound and outbound domestic moves for nearly 40 years, and through our study are able to identify the states that are attracting or losing residents.”

Allowing Unions to Organize Volkswagen is Like ‘Injecting Cancer’ Into US Auto Industry

It seems like a foolish move by Volkswagen for allowing the United Auto Workers (UAW) to organize its American plants. Not only did the UAW screw Volkswagen in the past, but even now the union admits that it is raising union dues solely to replenish its strike fund so unionistas can walk out. It’s like Volkswagen is buying its own rope for its execution.

Or, as Steve Moore of The Wall Street Journal says, “it’s like inserting a cancer cell into a body.”

That is how Journal editorial board member Moore characterized the act of allowing the UAW to organize Volkswagen’s American auto plants. “That one cancer cell is going to multiply and kill the body. It’s a disruptive influence,” he continued.

Worse, the UAW wants to raise dues for members for the expressed reason of filling strike fund coffers, this according to UAW Boss Bob King.

So, if Volkswagen gives in to the UAW’s demands it will only be helping the union to walk out at the earliest opportunity.

The South Rose Again While The North Napped

Northern elites love to look down their noses and sneer at southerners whom they consider loutish hayseeds who are just plain stupid. But as many in the north have dismissed the south, our states south of Mason and Dixon’s line has risen again right under the north’s very nose. Now, the best quality of life is in the south.

Recently Joel Kotkin noted that much of the economic power in the United States today is located in the old Confederacy where taxes are low, weather is pleasant, and jobs are plentiful. Meanwhile, the north is struggling under mounting debt, job loss, and rising taxes and a dwindling populace to tax.

In his article, “How The South Will Rise To Power Again,” Kotkin points out that current trends show that, “the South will expand its dominance as the nation’s most populous region. In the 1950s, the South, the Northeast and the Midwest each had about the same number of people. Today the region is almost as populous as the Northeast and the Midwest combined.”

ABC’s late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel did an hilarious job slamming Obamacare and pointing out to young people that under Obamacare they are the ones stuck paying for the expensive healthcare needed by the elderly with a spoof “commercial” about the President’s disastrous healthcare policy (See video above).

You see, the way Obamacare is supposed to work is that millions of young people who are healthy and don’t need to use health insurance are supposed to buy it anyway so that the premium money they are paying into the system can be given to the elderly who need coverage now. It really is little else but a giant pyramid scheme.

Obama Threatens to Issue More Illicit Executive Orders

The destruction of the USA is not coming nearly fast enough to suit Barack Obama. So, once again, he is threatening to use his power to issue a constant stream of Executive Orders to force his will on America because Congress just isn’t moving fast enough for him.
Obama held a Tuesday, January 14 press conference where he renewed his oft repeated threat that if Congress doesn’t bend to his will, then he will go around our elected officials and rule by fiat. Emperor Obama reigns.

It should be noted that the founders purposefully set up our system to move slowly. The founders were afraid that if change could come too quickly, all too often that change would be a knee jerk reaction to crisis and hasty changes are rarely good in the long run. But Obama does not care about our system nor does he want to wait for the people we elected to act. He wants to move on his extremist, left-wing agenda immediately.

So, he wants to use his power to make EO’s to get around our system.

Fox News’ Judge Napolitano recently had some important warnings about President Obama’s takeover of our national healthcare system. Firstly it isn’t healthcare, it’s a tax and secondly be prepared to go to jail if you don’t pay your Obamacare tax.

First of all–and it really isn’t noted enough–Obamacare was OKayed by the Supreme Court of the United States not because it is a “healthcare law” and not because it is “insurance,” but because Obama told the court it was a “tax.” So, Obamacre is not healthcare at all. It is merely just another big government tax hike.

Because Obamacare is a tax hike, it can be treated like any other tax. And who collects those taxes? The IRS? And what sort of power does the IRS have? It has the power to kick down your door with armed forces, it has the power to confiscate your bank accounts, it has the power to detain you, and it has the power to put you in jail if you do not do everything it tells you to do.

Obamacare Disaster Continues: Sen. Rand Paul’s Son Ends Up on Medicaid

The disaster that is Obamacare rolls ever onward. This time we have U.S. Senator Rand Paul who has been trying to get his own family signed up for Obamacare only to find that the state of Kentucky automatically assigned Paul’s own son to Medicaid even though the Senator was trying to arrange for an insurance policy he intends to pay for himself.

Senator Paul is no indigent character, here, and he has plenty of money to pay for healthcare insurance for his family. But as he attempted to sign up for insurance through his state-based Obamacare exchange, the state automatically signed his son up for Medicaid, the health service that is supposed to be reserved for the poor.

As Paul notes in the video clip above, the state of Kentucky is supposed to have one of the best services in the nation–a low bar, there–but if the state is shunting people who can pay for their insurance into Medicaid, that is another failure of the system that should not be happening.

Just last November, for instance, President Barack “Milhous” Obama said that his failed Obamacare law would make healthcare cheaper by keeping more Americans out of emergency rooms.

Obama said of insurance companies and hospitals, that, “instead of having to take in folks in the emergency room, they suddenly have customers who have insurance. That means those of you who already have health insurance, your premiums will not be subsidizing folks who don’t have health insurance. People will get preventive care, which means that people are likely to be healthier.”

But a new study proves that this is simply a pipe dream.

Now they are urging Obama to pick another czar to fix the healthcare law, this time calling the position a “CEO” for Obamacare.

According to Newsmax, Obama’s supporters have been quietly pushing the President to appoint a single person, a “CEO” of sorts, to head up the fixes for the President’s disastrous takeover of our nation’s healthcare system.

One advocate of this scheme is reportedly Ezekiel Emanuel, one of Obama’s chief healthcare advisors and brother to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Ezekiel is part of the extremist, left-wing, George Soros-funded, anti-American organization misleadingly called the Center for American Progress (CAP), so those folks are behind this hail Mary pass, too.

Predictable: Obamacare Website Crashes on Deadline Day!

Monday, December 23 was supposed to be deadline day for Obamacare, the day when everyone in the country was supposed to have signed up for Obamacare. But for many who were trying to do so, a crashed website turned out to be the Christmas gift that wouldn’t stop giving.

Apparently the many months of constant “fixes” didn’t help put the website on stable footing so that last minute insurance hunters could scoot in under the law’s deadline.

Obama has spent billions of tax dollars selling this failed website and hundreds of millions on faulty website code-writers who have not been able to get much of the site in working order.

On Monday, December 23, the White House tried to make “news” by claiming that President Obama “signed up” for Obamacre. Only, the truth is it was just a lame publicity stunt. Obama did not sing up for anything.

White House officials announced that on Monday Obama “signed up” for his own signature–and massively failed–healthcare system.

On Monday afternoon, April Ryan, the White House Correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief for American Urban Radio Networks, was all excited to Tweet that “President Obama signed up for insurance and selected the Bronze plan for health insurance over the weekend while on vacation.”

This, of course, was the propaganda that the White House fed their lapdog mediot. The truth is, Obama himself was not involved in signing up for anything. He is on vacation in Hawaii. It was the White House propaganda office that did it for him as a way to get the nation talking about Obamacare as the hours wind down until the so-called sign up deadline arrives.

Obama is Asked About His ‘Lie of the Year’… Ignores the Question

President Obama was the lucky, lucky recipient of Politifact’s “lie of the year” award for his much repeated claim–and outright lie–that you can “keep your healthcare plan if you like it” and in his year-end press conference he was asked about that fact. Naturally he avoided the question.

Obama was asked to respond to his lie of the year award by no less than a reporter from The New York Times, a paper that was mocked mercilessly for claiming that Obama had merely “misspoken” when he lied three dozen times telling us we could keep our healthcare plans and doctors when he knew full well we most Americans would end up losing them.

NYT reporter Jacki Calmes wound up a long-winded question on Obama’s lie of the year close to the end of the press conference. When he responded, of course, he ignored the question and went rambling on about things unconnected to Politifact’s finding.

VIDEO: A New Kirk Dillard Slam Making the Rounds

Thus far about the only GOP gubernatorial hopeful in the news has been Bruce Rauner (brucerauner.com). With his many promises to rewrite the whole Illinois Constitution to fix what ails us and his deep pockets he was early out of the chute. But this week a video slamming Kirk Dillard has also popped up showing that the race is just starting to warm up.

Of course Rauner, with all his millions of dollars, has hit the ground early with TV ads most of which slam current governor, Democrat Pat Quinn. Rauner is acting as if he is already the nominee, ignoring his competitors and going straight at Quinn and other lifer politicians.

Whatever you think of all Rauner’s many and varied promises, pretending he is the only one in the race is probably a good strategy. In any case, as things stand now, he is sucking up all the oxygen in the race.

But, wait. Today came a snide attack on Kirk Dillard (www.dillardtracy.com).

Obviously someone thinks he is a threat.

A video titled”Kirk Dillard Presents a Holiday Tribute to Jim Edgar,” came out that treats Dillard as s childish, star struck fan–and maybe a stooge–of former Governor and one-time Dillard boss Jim Edgar.

The video is chock full of images of Dillard gazing admiringly at Governor Edgar and is amusingly played to the rock tune I Touch Myself, by the 1990s Australian band the Divinyls.

The video was posted on a Youtube account under the name “Michael Martin” and ends with a message saying that the video was “brought to you by Kirk Dillard and your friends at MSI.”

For those of you who may have forgotten (as I had at first), MSI stands for Management Services of Illinois. The reference refers to a scandal from August of 2000 that linked aides of Edgar and then Senate President James “Pate” Philip to MSI, a company that was accused of bilking the state out of some $12 million dollars.

Whole Foods CEO: Obamacare Will Create a Permanent Part-Time Workforce

The CEO of Whole Foods, well known for standing against Obamacare, recently pointed out that the President’s government take over of our healthcare system will create a permanent part-time work force filled with positions that will never be able to advance to full time work. Because of that, Obamacare is hardly a very American ideal as it puts a government-enforce, concrete ceiling on top of workers who hope to better themselves.

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey appeared on Fox News with Stuart Varney on December 18 to discuss the negative impact that Obamacare is having on the nation’s economy and its workforce.

After 35 years in business, Mackey knows how badly Obamacare will hurt the country. “It’s raising our costs,” Mackey said. “We’ll have to cover things that are expensive that we may not want to cover, our team members may not want to have covered,” he pointed out.

Video Panders to Half Naked Gays to Spread Obamacare Enrollment Message

When you think Christmas–or healthcare, for that matter–do you think of half naked gay guys romping about in speedo undies and holding mistletoe over each other’s heads? Well President Obama and his Obamacare pushers apparently do.

Apparently, according to Obama and his supporters who are pushing the failed Obamacare plan on the rest of us, gays are leering, oversexed men-children who romp about in speedo underwear and fondle each other… oh, and they like them some Obamacare, too.

Talk about sexual objectifying!

The video is, of course, meant to push Obamacare on the country, but by appealing to the tiny 2% of the country that is gay…. that sure seems like a “narrow” casting of the message, doesn’t it?
