Twitter has bowed to pressure from Russian Czar Vladimir Putin to block all content blacklisted by Russia’s Federal Service for Supervision in Telecommunications, Information Technology and Mass Communications.
Putin’s government reports that since early March, Twitter has “actively been engaged in cooperation” with Russian authorities already. Twitter has already deleted pinpointed accounts and is restricting access on the basis of “five information materials” as determined by Russian authorities.
In a statement from the Kremlin, Twitter’s cooperation with the massive censorship policy was praised.

Continuing the trend of firearms related companies that have been contemplating moving their businesses out of states instituting strict gun control laws, Colt Manufacturing is now considering a move out of Connecticut after 175 years in business. This is due to the new gun bans being mulled by the state legislature and Democrat Governor Dannel Malloy.
Colt President and CEO Dennis Veilleux published an op ed in the Hartford Currant asking why it makes any sense that Colt Manufacturing stay in Connecticut.
Veilleux says that the “economic advantage” his company has brought to Hartford for the last 175 years “is in grave danger.”
“What’s most astounding.” Veilleux wrote, “is our advantage is not being taken away–it’s being given away.”

A new reports claims that Senate insiders are saying that the National Rifle Association will not oppose new gun control measures that will require universal background checks on all gun sales, including those between private citizens, but only if certain records keeping requirements are removed.
NBC reports that unnamed Senate aides say that the NRA will not oppose Senator Chuck Schumer’s (D, NY) universal background check proposal (S. 436) if the bill does not require private gun owners to maintain records of the background checks filed with the government.
Officially the NRA is denying the claims of these unnamed Senate aides. “We do not take positions on hypotheticals,” said NRA lobbyist Chris Cox. “We will make our position known if and when legislation is introduced.”

ABC has released the results of another gun poll claiming that support for background checks at gun shows has “vast public support.” But neither the poll nor ABC’s report notes that background checks already routinely occur at gun shows.
The poll focused on the various gun control bills currently coursing through Congress with one question asking whether or not respondents support “requiring background checks on people buying guns at gun shows.”
Pointing out that Congress is considering a bill (S. 436) that would expand background checks, ABC reports that “a nearly unanimous 91 percent favor mandatory background checks on gun show sales.”
This question pertains to the so-called “gun show loophole” and misleads people into imagining that background checks are not required at gun shows simply because they are gun shows. The fact is, though, that every licensed gun dealer is required to perform background checks on every gun sale whether he sells his wares at a gun show or from his own shop.
In other words, the gun show itself has nothing to do with this issue.

CNN’s Piers Morgan sees no reason why America shouldn’t turn into a nanny state. During his March 11 broadcast, Morgan insisted that, “people need the nanny state occasionally.”
With guest Christine Quinn, on his late evening CNN talk show Morgan lamented what he felt was a bad decision by a New York judge who shut down Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s soda ban. Morgan was all in for a politician deciding for all of us what we are and what we aren’t allowed to eat.
During the discussion, Quinn said she disagreed with banning foods saying that the focus should be on expanding choice for healthy foods not just having government “say no” to the supposed bad choices. Interestingly, Quinn is a Bloomberg ally, a Democrat, and the President of the New York City Council, yet was still arguing against this particular nanny state action.
Regardless, Morgan, a British citizen, disagreed with his guest.
“This is where I disagree with you. I think people need the nanny state occasionally. Particularly on issues like smoking, drinking, guzzling sodas that are too big for them, you know, eating sixteen Big Macs a day, whatever it may be, the reality is we all need a bit of nannying about that that’s why so many people are on diets. That’s a form of nanny state,” Morgan said.
The CNN talker also took to Twitter to ask why Mayor Bloomberg’s nannyism is such a bad thing.
“If a Mayor can’t do things to make his city’s populace healthier – what’s the point of his job? Bloomberg’s 100% right on supersized soda,” he Tweeted on March 11.
Just as the soda ban was to kick in, New York state Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling put a halt to the rule saying Bloomberg’s new ban was illicit because he went around the City Council to implement it.
The ban, Judge Tingling said, would “not only violate the separation of powers doctrine, it would eviscerate it.”
This is why so many Americans look askance at immigrants like Morgan. They come here and bring their socialist ideas with them from their armpit countries instead of coming here to learn how to be an American. Go back to Britain, Piers. Your socialist, nanny-state nonsense is not wanted here.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D, CA) lied outright in a recent hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee as she advocated for her anti-Constitutional gun-ban bill when she said that it is “legal to hunt humans” with large capacity ammunition magazines.

Rand Paul excited conservatives, libertarians, and even some liberals with his filibuster performance on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday. It was some 13 hours of a discussion on Obama’s desire to use drones to kill Americans here at home. Unfortunately, there were seven Republicans Senators that decided it was a better idea to eat dinner with the odious Obama instead of assisting Rand Paul. Worse, two Republicans actually denounced Paul’s efforts. All these Senators need to be gotten rid of.
Rand Paul used the debate about the nomination of John Brennan as his “in” to begin his filibuster. Obama offered the nomination of Brennan as his next CIA chief and Paul used his turn to speak about Brennan as a launching pad to force Obama and the CIA to agree not to kill Americans with domestic drone strikes without trail, warrant, or arrest.
The excitement from rank and file GOPers hungry for some kind of victory was tremendous. Unfortunately, two foolish GOP Senators actually denounced Rand Paul for his successful and exciting effort.
The bobbsey twins, John McCain (Ariz) and his lapdog Lindsay Graham (So. Car.) actually attacked Paul for his filibuster. John McLame, for instance, called Paul “ridiculous.”

During a long stretch of the day in the U.S. Senate, Kentucky’s junior Republican Senator, Rand Paul, led a filibuster to decry the Obama’s administration’s seeming disregard of due process, the rule of law, and American’s civil rights. This, apparently, is funny to CNN. Makes one wonder why CNN imagines itself a news station!
Obama’s administration has admitted that it sees nothing inherently wrong with using flying drones to kill Americans here in our own country. This is something that Senator Paul and millions of other Americans (on both sides of the aisle, by the way) think is wrong.
As Obama’s nomination for a new CIA chief came to the floor, Senator Paul launched an old fashioned, talking filibuster to block the nomination in order to get his point across that killing Americans without due process, without proper warrants and trials is simply wrong.
This was something that CNN’s Erin Burnett thought was worthy of mocking.
Here is what CNN’s viewers were treated to during Burnett’s show…

California Senator Diane Feinstein appeared on Pier Morgan’s evening CNN show on February 28 to talk about her gun-banning bill that is currently on hold in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The interview ended in a gushing mutual admiration society as gun-banner Feinstein applauded gun-hater Morgan and vice versa.
“That gun culture is letting bad things happen,” Feinstein sonorously told Morgan at the tail of the interview.
“Well, you’re doing a fantastic job on this, Senator,” Morgan told her. “I absolutely applaud you and urge you to continue,” he added.
The mutual admiration continued as Feinstein said, “Oh, Piers, thank you.”
“You have been wonderful. Thank you so much for your help. It is uphill all the way,” Feinstein concluded.

A number of firearms manufacturers and companies that sell firearms related products have joined a growing list of companies refusing to do business with states, counties, and other government agencies that pass new laws restricting citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
A list of some 34 of these companies has been posted at a website called The Police Loophole. The site informs visitors that the companies have publicly announced that they “will not sell items to states, counties, cities, and municipalities that restrict their citizens rights to own” the products they sell.
“There are some states, counties, cities, and municipalities in our great nation that fail to allow their citizens to fully exercise their right to keep and bear arms with restrictions such as magazine capacity or types of firearms that are widely available to citizens of other states, counties, cities, and municipalities. However, these government entities do not place these restrictions upon their own employees, such as police officers.”
The “police loophole” phrase is a take off on the so-called “gun show loophole” that gun control advocates use in order to push their anti-gun policies. One good “closed” loophole deserves another, as far as these website operators are concerned.

If passed, a bill introduced in the Texas State legislature would prevent state and local police officers from enforcing any new federal gun control laws.
The Firearm Protection Act, sponsored by Republican Representative Steve Toth (The Woodlands, Dist. 15), would stop Texas law enforcement officials from confiscating so-called assault weapons or large capacity ammunition magazines.
“There’s a federal law, there’s a 30-round magazine right in front of you – what do I do?,” Toth said to reporters. His bill, he said, firmly answers that question.

First of all, there is no such thing as an “assault weapon.” But, despite that fact, when half-wit leftists try to define what an “assault weapon” is, all they really end up doing is describing what such a weapon looks like not what the weapon does.
Essentially you get this…
Note that the two weapons in the illustration above are both single shot muskets. But when all sorts of cosmetic bric-a-brac is added to the musket, it sure makes it appear more menacing.
All the fancy grips, plastic stocks, bayonet lugs, scopes, all this stuff is superficial, cosmetic, and none of them make the weapon any more dangerous than when it started out.
Well, this is where we are with the nonsensical “definitions” that liberals foist on us all as they attempt to define what an “assault weapon” is. All we get are what it looks like, not what it does.
As the photo above proves, ANY GUN can be made to LOOK LIKE an “assault weapon.” But what a gun looks like has precisely nothing to do with what it can do, how quickly it can fire, how supposedly “dangerous” it is.

As Nancy Pelosi appeared on Fox News Sunday with host Chris Wallace, she didn’t seem to know the difference between the First Amendment and the Second Amendment.
During her February 10 segment, Pelosi premised her conversation by pointing out that Japan has, “the most violent games and the rest and the lowest mortality from guns.” This, Pelosi imagined, was because Japan “might have good gun laws.”
The Democrat House Minority Leader then went on to tell Wallace that the First Amendment gave Americans the right to have a gun and that was a thing she and the Democrats want to “avow.”

A new study of coverage by the big three networks of President Obama’s anti-gun crusade shows an overwhelmingly positive slant toward the President’s policy ideas at an 8 to 1 ratio.
The study conducted by the Media Research Center reviewed coverage from December 14 to January 17, or from the day of the crime at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, to the day after Obama made a speech surrounded by children who purportedly sent him letters pleading for more gun control. MRC reviewed the evening newscasts as well as the three networks’ morning shows.
The results showed that stories that pushed for more gun control vastly outnumbered stories that opposed gun control by 99 to 12, or a ratio of 8 to 1.

On the Monday’s broadcast of the long awaited remake of a popular 1970s era episode of Hawaii Five-O, one of the main characters went on a rant against “gun nuts” and the lack of both strict regulations and a pervasive, privacy-invading registration process. But later in the show the same character was apologetic over not having a warrant to review records of owners of post office boxes because it is an invasion of their right to privacy.
The episode, titled “Hookman,” is a remake of the 1973 fan favorite from the original Jack Lord series and featured a double amputee who lost his hands in the commission of a crime decades ago who then went on a campaign of revenge against members of the Hawaii Police Department that put him in jail.
But this year’s remake was not a carbon copy of the original as, unlike the 1973 episode, in this version there was time enough for one of the characters to go on a tirade against guns, gun laws and gun owners.
In the original episode, one of the clues left by the killer was a rifle with a golden plaque affixed to it bearing the name of the policeman slain by the killer. In the new one, however, the clue was a rifle shell casing with the name engraved on it. In the original, Jack Lord’s Officer McGarrett went to a plaque-maker’s shop to try and find out to whom the proprietor sold the item. In the remake, the team went to a local gun shop to try and chase down the shell casing. This alteration in the original script specifically set today’s character up for his anti-gun rant.

Despite his opportunistic, nightly campaign against the Constitution of the United States of America, CNN’s Pierce Morgan’s ratings still aren’t so hot. In fact, even RuPaul beat him earlier this week!
RuPaul, whose real name is Andre Charles, is a well-known female impersonator and recently started season five of his show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on cable network Logo TV.
Interestingly, RuPaul’s antics apparently drew more viewers than CNN’s Morgan did during the rating period for Monday, January 28.
A Wednesday Tweet by Internet giant Matt Drudge noted that RuPaul earned 565,000 viewers to Morgan’s 545,000.
The Logo TV network gears its programming to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and is said to appear in but 41 million American homes. By contrast, CNN counts an audience of over 100 million U.S. homes not to mention more than 890,000 American hotel rooms and airport terminal screens from coast to coast.

Texas’ newest Senator, Republican Ted Cruz, has launched a Cruz missile right at Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for the threatening letters the mayor sent to several American banks because they do business with American gun manufacturers. Cruz advises the banks not to be bullied by the Windy City Mayor’s bluster.
On January 25 Chicago Mayor Emanuel, a former Obama chief of staff, sent out letters threatening the CEOs of the Bank of America and TD Bank Group, urging them to join those that stand against the Second Amendment and to cease doing business with several law-abiding, gun manufacturers.
In his own letter to these same banks, Senator Ted Cruz noted his sympathy for the banks’ concern over being threatened by Da Mayor, but informed them that Texas has “a more modest view” of the role of government.

Many received with raised eyebrow President Obama’s recent claim that he goes skeet shooting at Camp David “all the time.” But until Fox News’ Jana Winter looked into it, few in the media seemed much interested in trying to verify Obama’s startling claim. Maybe it’s because Obama’s claim is as absurd as it first seemed.
In a recent interview the President gave to the left-leaning New Republic, he tried to blow off as unfounded any criticism over his new anti-Second Amendment crusade. “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time,” he assured the magazine.
As soon as Obama’s skeet shooting claim was revealed people have scoffed at the claim. The question becomes, how does one prove that Obama is not just spinning a tall tale here?
One way would be to discover photographic evidence to buttress the President’s claim. But the problem is there isn’t any.

On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D, NV) took a pass on directly supporting the most talked about Democrat-sponsored anti-gun legislation in Washington. The bill, sponsored by California’s Dianne Feinstein (D, CA), would renew and enlarge a federal ban on assault weapons.
Feinstein’s legislation was introduced to great media fanfare last week, but this week Reid told reporters that he’d bring other legislation to the floor and allow it to undergo what promises to be a lengthy amendment process.
Reid declined to commit to bringing Feinstein’s bill to the floor even though that bill was publicly supported by the Democrat’s second and third ranking senate members.
Senate Leader Reid praised Senator Feinstein for her enthusiasm for her bill but suggested hers wasn’t the only game in town. “We’re going to have votes on all kinds of issues dealing with guns, and I think everyone would be well advised to read the legislation before they determine how they’re going to vote,” he said to reporters.

Rocket launchers roaming our city streets and being turned in at gun buyback programs is a fake story the Old Media establishment has repeatedly promulgated as real and I am getting a bit sick and tired of it.
Early in January I noted an instance where the media went gaga over “missile launchers” that were turned in at a gun buyback program in Los Angeles. Then I noted that the so-called “rocket launchers” where really nothing of the kind.
As it happens the items scarily reported as “rocket launchers” were really just useless and harmless plastic tubes from which no “rocket” could be launched. Some were one-use tubes that had already been used by the military–and could never be loaded with another rocket– but, worse, some were training devices that never could have launched a rocket in the first place and were just visual aides for new soldiers. Essentially these so-called “rocket launchers” were just danger-free plastic relics.

It was bad enough that a New York newspaper published the names and addresses of thousands of New York’s legal gun owners putting many of them in danger, but now it has been discovered that much of the information on the map was wildly inaccurate. Worse, the Journal News didn’t make any effort to verify the information it published.
When the Journal News posted the interactive, Internet map it was supposed to reveal the names and addresses of thousands of legal gun owners in the county in which the paper is published and that it did. But as it happens, the information provided by the county also contains much data that is years out of date.
As both Instapundit and HotAir reported on Tuesday, the gun permit holder information that Rockland County supplied to the paper is filled with addresses and names of people who may no longer even be among the living.

The newest efforts to ban guns being undertaken by Democrats and President Obama demands response and the National Rifle Association isn’t lying down on the job. But is the NRA’s media strategy working?
For about a week after the murders of 26 school children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, the NRA was sensibly–and respectfully–silent over the incident. But after allowing a suitable time to go by to allow some grieving to take place, the NRA came out swinging with a few ideas on what to do about guns, one of which was to place armed guards in our nation’s schools.
Immediately the left skewered the NRA for the suggestion, even though the President himself later proposed something similar–and was criticized for it from his own side.

After a discussion on gun control at an event in Richmond, Virginia, Vice President Joe Biden claimed that better mental health checks could have stopped the shooting on the Virginia Tech campus in 2007.
Biden said that he and those he consulted during the recent gun banning commission he chaired which was completed in mid January had reached a “pretty broad consensus” of policy recommendations that would include “mental capacity” to determine who would be allowed to purchase guns in the future.
“One of the problems that was pointed out here was that there was an adjudication of the young man that committed the crime at Virginia Tech, and yet he was able to go out and purchase two weapons,” the Vice President said.
In 2007 Seung-Hui Cho, a student at the university, killed 32 at the Blacksburg, VA campus. Cho used two handguns that he had purchased legally. The killer, though, had a history of mental health issues that apparently didn’t come up in his background checks when he purchased the weapons.

In the next leg of President Obama’s perpetual campaign, he and Vice President Biden plan to hit the road and tour the country pushing their new gun ban ideas as the political season heats up.
Just ahead of inauguration day, VP Biden finished chairing his special Commission on Gun Violence and now he plans to appear in Richmond, Virginia before an organized anti-gun audience to campaign for his “gun violence” recommendations.
Biden joined Virginia’s Democrat Senator Tim Kane at the first campaign-style event on Friday, January 25. Both rallied to push Obama’s anti-gun message.
White House spokesman Jay Carney told the media on Wednesday that the President would soon begin touring the country pushing his policy recommendations, but no schedule of events was released.

Last week as Vice President Joe Biden talked publicly about his efforts to assist President Obama with his various gun-banning schemes, he made a startling new claim. He said that while golfing in Pennsylvania in 2006 he personally heard the gunfire from a mass shooting being committed at a nearby school. But did he really? Facts seem to run contrary to Biden’s late claim.
The shooting Biden was referring to occurred at an Amish schoolhouse in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on October 2, 2006. During the crime, a gunman entered the schoolhouse, killed five children and wounded five others.
Employing his favorite, most overused word–literally–Biden regaled an audience last week about his personal connection to the shooting calling it “pure coincidence.”
On January 17, the Washington Times reported that Biden made this revelation at a meeting of the U.S. Council of Mayors.
“I happened to be literally–probably, it turned out, to be a quarter of a mile [away] at an outing when I heard gunshots in the woods,” Biden claimed. “We didn’t know… we thought they were hunters.”
Biden continued with the tall tale saying, “As I got back to the clubhouse of this outing and saw helicopters, it was a shooting that had just taken place in a small Amish… school just outside of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. So it’s not just big cities or well-to-do suburbs. It can happen anywhere.”
But is any of this true? Facts seem to cast doubt on the Vice President’s claims.
Firstly, Biden has never mentioned this incident before. This complete lack of his ever mentioning this close connection to the Amish schoolhouse shooting seems out of character. If he was that close to the shooting and with as much as Joe likes to make everything about Joe, it’s hard to believe he would never have mentioned this story before now.
That aside, there’s the physical realities involved in Biden’s claims.
In a follow up report, the Washington Times found that there aren’t any golf courses close enough to the Amish school for golfers to have heard gunshots from so far away.
But a search of maps of the area in Lancaster County, Pa., shows the nearest golf course to the site of the shooting, Moccasin Run Golf Club, is about five miles away. Rodney King, the golf pro at Moccasin Run, said Friday he was working at the course on the day of the shooting and never saw Mr. Biden, who was then a U.S. senator.
At ten miles distant, the only other golf course is even farther away. Both courses are certainly too far away for golfers to have heard gunshots that were fired inside a school building.
Interestingly, a look through last week’s news coverage finds little notice of Biden’s sudden claims conveniently made just as he’s pushing new gun control schemes. One wonders why Joe Biden so often gets away with these tall tales? In light of how VPs Quayle and Cheney were treated by the media, why won’t Old Media operatives ever call Joe Biden on his often times impossible claims?

Actor and hardcore progressive Danny Glover should add revisionist historian to his growing resume of left-wing activism after a recent visit to Texas A&M University where he told students that the Second Amendment was mainly meant to keep African Americans in slavery and to kill Native American peoples.
During his January 17 appearance at the university, Glover thought to teach the students attending about the real purpose of the Second Amendment.
I don’t know if people know the genesis of the right to bear arms. The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect, for settlers to protect themselves from slave revolts and from uprisings by Native Americans. So, a revolt from people who were stolen from their lands or revolts from people whose land was stolen from. That was the genesis of the Second Amendment.
This is simple historical revisionism. Slave revolts had yet to become the constant, nagging fear it was later to become for southern slaveholders. There was no such preoccupation in the late 1780s during the debate over the Constitution or in the decades previous to that and it certainly wasn’t a cause for northerners to worry.
Glover is completely wrong in every respect.

With polls showing that our Second Amendment is still nearly as popular as ever, one is tempted to think that our guns are safe, for now. A new poll, for instance, even shows that the National Rifle Association is more popular than Hollywood.
The new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that even after the crime at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut ratings for the NRA did not much stray from the 41 percent approval it has enjoyed since 2011.
On the other hand, only 24 percent of respondents had a positive view of the entertainment industry.

The left is scoffing at the belief held by Second Amendment supporters that their right to bear arms is in part meant to act as a check on tyrannical government. Government turning tyrannical is ridiculous, many leftists say. But isn’t this the most absurd hypocrisy because didn’t they build their entire lefty edifice on the idea that government has been oppressing everyone?
Only the most recent person making this claim is CNN’s Piers Morgan, a foreigner and British citizen. He is grasping at any argument in his attempt to destroy our Constitution. On ABC’s This Week former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm also made this false claim.
From the Civil Rights movement, to the 60’s era hippies and yippies and their riots, to constant racebaiting, gay advocacy, university affirmative action, racial quotas, even all the way to the last few years when the childish Occupy Wall Street “movement” started, all of these movements arose because the left claimed that government had been oppressing any particular voting constituency to which they wanted to appeal.
