Washington Post Pushes Janet Napolitano for President in 2016

-By Warner Todd Huston

If Hillary really doesn’t run for president in 2016, it is so hard for the Washington Post to “imagine the presidential field without a woman contender” that the paper has decided to look at who might replace her. And the paper has arrived at… Janet Napolitano?

But with its touting of the Homeland Security Secretary, the Post insists “there is reason to take her seriously.”

The Post notes that Napolitano was once a “highly regarded and very popular governor in Arizona.” And yet goes on to say she dropped the ball on illegal immigration during her tenure in the Governor’s mansion (2003-2009).

But her role at Homeland has given her a chance to “change that image,” we are told.

Warming to Senate Bid, Geraldo Slams GOP

-By Warner Todd Huston

Geraldo Rivera recently announced on his radio show that he was considering a run as a Republican for the Senate from the state of New Jersey. But as is Geraldo’s wont, he’s already criticizing the very party whose blessing he seeks.

On Jan. 31, Rivera told his radio audience that he is “truly contemplating” a run for Senate and he wants to represent the Republican Party. But only a day later, on Fox News’ “Studio B With Shepard Smith,” he was heard criticizing the GOP as a “party of scolds” and saying it had better go back to being “the party of inclusion.”

Rivera said that the Republican Party had “drifted away from the party of business, the party of free enterprise,” and into a “party of scolds.” He went on to say the GOP has become, “The party of no, you can’t have an abortion. No, if you’re gay you can’t be married. No, if you’re an immigrant you can’t possibly think you are going to get on line to become a citizen of the United States.”

Noam Chomsky: Obama is Like an Old ‘Moderate Republican’

-By Warner Todd Huston

On January 30, professor Noam Chomsky, famed linguistic scholar and long-time anti-American activist, said on Current TV that if President Obama were in office a few decades ago he would have “basically” been considered a “moderate Republican.”

Chomsky made his comments on Cenk Uygur’s Current TV show The Young Turks.

The MIT professor’s main point was that the Democrats have moved rightward toward “moderate” positions while the GOP has moved even further to right to the point of being extremists. This move, Chomsky said, has essentially eliminated “moderate Republicans.”

“The Republican Party has become overwhelmingly so extreme that it’s hardly a traditional political party anymore,” Chomsky said.

ABC Ignores Tim Scott’s Senate Appointment in Dec., By Jan. Hails Mo Cowan’s as ‘History’

-By Warner Todd Huston

In December, ABC’s World News saw no news at all in the historic appointment of African American Tim Scott to the Senate in South Carolina. No mention was made of it during the broadcast.

Only a month later, though, the same program suddenly hailed African American William “Mo” Cowan’s appointment to the Senate as history making.

When Republican Tim Scott was appointed to fill retiring Senator Jim DeMint’s Senate seat he became the first African American from South Carolina to be sent to the Senate since 1881. Further, when he took his seat he was the only black Senator from either party in Washington D.C. But despite all these notable historic facts, ABC’s World News never mentioned Scott’s appointment.

However, this month when the Governor of Massachusetts appointed African American, Democrat Mo Cowan to finish out John Kerry’s term, ABC suddenly found it to be a moment worthy of coverage.

Obama Campaign Advertised Less in Black Press Than Bill Clinton

-By Warner Todd Huston

Last year, Barack Obama spent only one million dollars for advertising in the African American press for his reelection campaign. This was two million less than Bill Clinton did and far from the $20 million that activists had called for.

According to Robert Redding, Jr., of the syndicated Redding News Review radio show, during the late election Obama refused to spend campaign cash on advertising in black-owned newspapers and magazines. And Redding alleges the situation got worse after the Obama campaign reacted negatively to an op ed by Cloves Campbell criticizing him for spending so little for advertising to the black community.

Campbell’s piece, titled “Black Press to presidential campaigns: Show Me the Money!,” was published last August. Mr. Campbell is the Chairman of the National Newspaper Publishers Association.

Paul Krugman: Let’s Just Print More Money

-By Warner Todd Huston

Once again liberal economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman has said that our government trillions in debt is not a problem and even intimated that we might we crank up the printing presses and print more fiat money to get us out of our bad economy.

Krugman appeared on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” program on January 30 and scoffed at Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R, WS) claim that our country is on the verge of a debt crisis.

The C-SPAN host played a clip of comments made at last week’s National Review Summit by Rep. Paul Ryan where the former GOP VP candidate warned about economic collapse.

Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera announced on his radio show that he is “truly contemplating” a Republican run for the Senate in New Jersey.

“I mention this only briefly, fasten your seatbelt,” Rivera said on his Thursday’s broadcast. “I mentioned this only briefly to my wife … but I am and I’ve been in touch with some people in the Republican Party in New Jersey. Hey, Karl Rove: Take a Hike Loser

-By Earner Todd Huston

Karl Rove has declared war on conservatives. With his new Super PAC, he is targeting not Democrats, he is not trying to raise money for good candidates, no he is raising money to defeat conservatives who might have the temerity to make a run for office in 2014.

Karl Rove has identified the enemy… and he is us!

It should be remembered that everything Rove did in the late presidential election misfired terribly. He spent millions of those gullible enough to donate to his efforts, then he went on Fox News and insisted Romney would win despite the evidence mounting by the minute on election night that we were trounced.

Rove is not part of the solution. He is part of the hide-bound, country club Republican, RINO, problem.

The Senate Conservative Fund has issued a statement which perfectly encapsulates what our message to this loser should be.

The Senate Conservatives Fund issued the following statement today regarding news that American Crossroads has formed a new super PAC comically named the “Conservative Victory Project” to oppose conservative candidates in GOP primary elections. The new super PAC is supported by Karl Rove and will be run by Steven Law, the former Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

“The Conservative Defeat Project is yet another example of the Republican establishment’s hostility toward its conservative base,” said SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins. “Rather than listening to the grassroots and working to advance their principles, the establishment has chosen to declare war on its party’s most loyal supporters. If they keep this up, the Republican Party will remain in the wilderness for decades to come.”

Moderator Jim Leher on Pres. Debate: ‘I Never Read Tweets’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Obama shocked the country with his horrible debate performance last October. After it was all over many of his supporters blamed debate moderator Jim Leher of PBS for the debacle–especially on Twitter. But Leher remained blissfully ignorant of all the criticism because he refuses to bother with Twitter.

The criticism of Leher’s debate moderation was pretty stiff on Twitter and mostly from Obama’s supporters. But Politico reports that Leher says he never saw any of it.

“I never read any of them, never got a report on them, didn’t want to know anything about them,” Leher said as he sat on Kalb Report panel at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Monday night.

Illinois Congressmen Sign Onto ‘No Budget, No Pay’ Act

-By Warner Todd Huston

All the remaining Illinois Republican congressmen have signed onto the House leadership’s new bill with a provision that if Congress doesn’t pass an official budget, then House members won’t get paid.

The “No Budget, No Pay Act” (H.R. 325) garnered the support of Illinois’ Republicans, but also got a “yea” vote from several Illinois Democrats, as well.

This legislation suspends the debt limit and makes mandatory that the House and Senate adopt a budget resolution for Fiscal Year 2014 by April 15, 2013. But if either body does not adopt a budget, members of that body will have their pay put into an escrow account beginning April 16, 2013 until the body adopts a budget. These funds will be released when a budget is adopted or at the end of the current Congress (in compliance with the 27th Amendment).

Biden Readies for 2016 Run

-By Warner Todd Huston

Joe Biden has never come anywhere close to the Democrat nomination for President of the United States. But, as a sitting Vice President, he thinks he has the inside track for the 2016 nomination and he’s already lining up his ducks to make that happen.

As a Senator, Biden tried running for the Democrat nomination two other times–1988 and 2008–and made noises about running during nearly every other election cycle in between. Each time he was, shall we say, a dark horse candidate, one least expected to get far in the hunt. He easily realized those low odds, too.

But now that he is the Vice President Biden assumes he could be next. After all, there is always an expectation that a sitting Vice President should be the next man in line after his president finishes his time in office. Pursuant to that, Joe has already begun making arrangements for 2016.

Rapper Thrown of Stage After Attacks on Obama, Limbaugh, Others

-By Warner Todd Huston

Rapper Lupe Fiasco lived down to his name at a recent corporate-sponsored inauguration party in Washington D.C. when he was thrown off the stage by the hosts for going on a tirade against President Obama, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck, audience members said.

During one of his “songs” the rapper informed the audience that he didn’t vote for President Obama and told them why, saying, “…and these same people supposedly telling us the truth. Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist, Gaza strip was getting bombed. Obama didn’t say sh*t. That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either. I’m part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful.”

It wasn’t long before black-suited security guards mounted the stage and swept the rapper off, shutting down the concert.

Josh Rogin, a writer for Foreign Policy magazine, was in the audience and tweeted as the incident played out. In one Tweet, Rogin reported, “Lupe refused to move to the next song so a team of security guards came on stage and told him to go.”

Congressman: ‘Older White Guys The Most Insecure’ Part of Society

-By Warner Todd Huston

Virginia Representative Jim Moran has taken PC, pop psychology to its logical extremes by claiming that “older white guys” are the “most insecure” part of American society . And where else but on MSNBC?

Moran, one of the nation’s most extreme, left-wing Congressmen, appeared on Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show on January 16 and went into an aspect of the next election cycle that seemed to trouble him. It was during this discussion that he found what is wrong with our nation.

Clearly, we had a very successful election in November. I worry a bit about 2014, when we don’t have the President at the top of the ticket. We have a disproportionately number of older white guys, and frankly, being one of those types, we’re the most insecure component of our society as far as I’m concerned; we’re much the problem with these kinds of things.

We have now arrived at the open admission from the far left that the only problem in America today is “older white guys.” In contravention to the left’s claims at being the “fair” and “logical” side of the aisle, all pretense of fairness and balance has finally been laid aside and all fault laid squarely on the shoulders of one segment of our society.

In years past, this sort of rote blame was called racism.

GOP Heads To ‘Retreat’ To Talk Strategy

-By Warner Todd Huston

Members of the Republican Party headed out of town Wednesday to attend a retreat to talk strategy and apparently there were an awful lot of lips flapping to The Hill about the event.

The venerable Washington insider newspaper published a long report on what was going to happen at the retreat punctuated with what unnamed members expected or hoped would happen. Naturally, the talk was all centered around those obstreperous conservatives who sought to throw a bone in Speaker Boehner’s tranquility.

The retreat’s theme, we were told, is “Many Voices, Once Conference,” of which The Hill helpfully informs us, is “a nod to the GOP’s internal, self-inflicted wounds from the handling of the fiscal cliff deal.”

A session called “Planning for the First Quarter,” could “get heated.” So said “a number of lawmakers,” no names given, of course.

WaPost Says Political Party Power Dying for GOP, But What Does it Mean?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Originally posted at TheOtherMCain.com.

In his latest piece at The Fix Blog, Washington Post reporter Chris Cillizza focused on the apparent waning power of the Republican Party among the center right coalition. Cillizza makes some good points, of course, but I do have at least one warning to our side over the points Cillizza makes.

Cillizza’s focus is on the recent departure from the Senate of South Carolina’s Jim DeMint who abruptly left a high profile political career to take the top spot leading the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Cillizza doesn’t mention it, but DeMint wasn’t just any old faceless senator. He had made himself an important voice in conservative circles even going so far as to become a major national player in elections whereby candidates would make a pilgrimage to his offices to seek his endorsement.

So, when DeMint left the power of the Senate behind, it was a big shock to conservatives who had hoped he’d continue to be a major conservative voice inside Washington.

In Lincoln’s Shadow: Obama’s Up Coming State of the Union Speech

-By Warner Todd Huston

President Obama will deliver the first State of the Union address for his second term on February 12 this year.

As is the custom, the President was invited to give the address by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. In his letter, Speaker John Boehner (R, OH) noted the “immense challenges” we face as a nation.

“Our nation continues to face immense challenges, and the American people expect us to work together in the new year to find meaningful solutions,” Boehner wrote. “This will require a willingness to seek common ground as well as presidential leadership. For that reason, the Congress and the Nation would welcome to an opportunity to hear your plan and specific solutions for addressing America’s great challenges. Therefore it is my privilege to invite you to speak before a Joint Session of Congress on February 12, 2013 in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol Building.”

Few expect Obama to use his upcoming State of the Union speech to offer any conciliatory gestures in order to work with the Republicans per Speaker Boehner. It is more likely that Obama will use his speech to outlay another series of demands to enlarge government and, since Sandy Hook, initiate new efforts to ban guns.

New Hampshire Legislator: We Need to ‘Restrict Freedoms’ of Conservatives

-By Warner Todd Huston

A New Hampshire legislator wants her constituents to know that she feels conservatives are the “single biggest threat” her state faces today and she wants to use her powers to legislate to “pass measures that will restrict” the freedoms of Granite State conservatives.

In a blog post made last month on the left-wing site Blue Hampshire, 3rd District State Representative, Democrat Cynthia Chase advised her fellow legislators to use their positions to make New Hampshire less welcoming to any conservative or libertarian planning on moving to her state not to mention those already in residence.

For those unaware, a conservative project of sorts has been underway in New Hampshire since 2001. The idea is that Americans of conservative ideals are to move to New Hampshire, gather in communities, run for office, and work to drive the state toward libertarianism and conservatism. It is called the “Free State Project” and adherents are called “Free Staters.”

Obama Raising Campaign Money Off Sandy Hook Massacre

-By Warner Todd Huston

You may think that after winning the election team Obama should be done raising money for its campaign fund. But Sandy Hook is a crisis too good to go to waste so with a new email from David Axelrod, team Obama is using the President’s remarks about the Sandy Hook massacre to raise more money.

The new campaign email carrying the imprimatur of Obama campaign chief David Axelrod urges campaign supporters to watch Obama’s address made at Newton, Connecticut where you’ll find a convenient donate now button.

“The next chapter begins today. Stand with President Obama for the next four years,” the email is headlined.

Axelrod doesn’t urge donations in the text of his email, of course, but the donate now buttons are both in the email and at the MyBarackObama.com page where team Obama is hosting the video of the speech.

Says Jeryl Bier: “Not one, but two buttons – two opportunities to donate to the Obama campaign. Not to the Red Cross, or to a memorial fund for the children and adults killed in Newtown. How hard would it have been to shift the focus, disable the buttons, for just one email, just one blog post? But the show must go on.”

The fact that any donate now button appears on any messages about the crime as Sandy Hook elementary is quite crass, indeed.

Weekly Standard’s Kristol Throws Up Hands, GOP Should ‘Acquiesce’ to Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

William Kristol, Editor of the Weekly Standard, seems to have decided that retreat is the way forward for the Republican Party. In a new editorial that approaches a meltdown, the Fox commentator and consummate Washington insider essentially advised the GOP to just throw in the towel on these fiscal cliff talks and more or less accept Obama’s terms.

In the piece, a dour Kristol detailed all the shock and depression that Republican insiders feel after losing an election they’d all thought was in the bag for team Romney and then went on to complain that the GOP’s legislative scene isn’t any better than its failed electoral scheme.

Even the fact that the Republicans still control the House is cold comfort for Kristol.

Worst of all, Kristol grouses, the GOP has no “proposal for averting the fiscal cliff.”

So, what to do, what to do? Maybe just “acquiesce” to Obama and be done with it?

Old Media Fear Obama Excluding Them for 2nd Inauguration

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Old Media establishment is worried that Barack Obama is going to cut them out from his second swearing-in ceremony. As Politico reports, rumors abound that this time ’round Obama is going to hold a private ceremony, one not open to the media.

On Sunday, January 20, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will perform the President’s swearing-in ceremony then Monday Obama will hold his public inauguration where he will be sworn in a second time in a symbolic gesture.

But Politico reports that some members of the inaugural committee have privately signaled to the press that Obama intends to exclude them from the Sunday ceremony — the one that really counts.

The White House Correspondents Association has already formally urged the Obama administration not to hold such a secretive swearing-in ceremony through a statement by issued Ed Henry, Fox News correspondent and the president of the White House Correspondents Association.

Mich Dem. Whitmer Shows Unions & Obama More Important Than Her State

-By Warner Todd Huston

Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, the State’s Senate Democratic Leader, is now pleading for President Obama to trample on Michigan’s state sovereignty and control the state from Washington DC. This is an odd request for someone that thinks she should be Michigan’s next Governor.

During most of American history, state politicians have been keen to safeguard their own power in their state. We even fought a whole civil war in part over the idea of states’ rights, after all. Oh, but not Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer. No, for Whitmer, allowing unions and President Obama to control Michigan is far more important than allowing the people of Michigan and their representatives to control the state.

Whitmer, you see, is trying to get President Obama to withhold federal funds from Michigan merely because Republicans and worker’s rights advocates have succeeded in passing right-to-work-style legislation in the current lame-duck session.

Whitmer is calling the right-to-work law “petty and vindictive politics.” That’s how losers talk, we all know. So, she wants King Obama to take action.

Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist Formally Switches to Democrat Party

-By Warner Todd Huston

Charlie Crist is one of the worst examples of a whining “moderate” Republican that got all mad because after his last campaign imploded due to his own idiotic embrace of President Obama, Republicans pushed him off at arms length. Well, now his traitorous trajectory is complete. Tonight he Tweeted that he is now officially a Democrat.

“Proud and honored to join the Democratic Party in the home of President,” the now former Republican Tweeted.

There really isn’t anyone in the GOP, moderate or otherwise, that will miss Charlie Crist. His political career is totally done, and he is no loss to the party at all.

But, whatever the case, he’s now a Democrat. I feel bad for them over this.

Naturally the speculation will begin anew over his sexual orientation. Now that he isn’t a Republican, I’ve already seen some people ask if he’ll get rid of his “beard.” For those unaware, a “beard” is wife — a real female wife — that a gay man marries in order to hide his homosexuality.

Folks have been speculating about Crist’s sexuality for years, but he has always said he is not gay and “proves that” by having married the beautiful Mrs. Crist — and she is a looker, too.

But now that he’s a Democrat and there is no need to act as if he’s straight, will he come out of the closet?

Of course, there is a reason that this will be the main question everyone has on his mind. After all, Crist, 56, has no political career in the offing. He’s a has been. These days he is little else but a crude curiosity.

The image to the upper left is the photo Mr. Crist posted to Twitter showing him holding his new Democrat registration.

Norquist: Obama’s Failed Fiscal Cliff Ideas Like a ‘Seinfeld Episode Where No Learning Takes Place’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Grover Norquist worries that Obama is like a bad episode of Seinfeld and might prove unable to learn from his past mistakes pushing us over the fiscal cliff whether we like it or not.

This is what Norquist, chief of Americans for Tax Reform — evangelist for the no-tax pledge that so many Republicans have signed — said in an intimate conversation today during which he laid out some ideas on how to push this debate back in our direction.

In a call with only a few conservative bloggers, Norquist laid out the problems we are facing and then went into some of the specifics, the ins and outs of negotiations, and laid out one idea that could help better inform Americans on just what the heck is going on in this debate.

The first thing of interest the ATR chief said was that we should avoid a grand budget bargain that settles everything at once. Instead, Norquist argued to continue the process of having repeated continuing resolutions. Over the last several years, instead of having a full budget passed by Congress, the House has been making do with short-term budgets called continuing resolutions (CR). These CRs fund the government for months or even weeks instead of a full fiscal year.

For his part, Norquist felt that we’ve gotten far better deals and advanced the spending cut/tax cut ball much further with the CRs than we ever could with a single, year-long budget. He also noted that the GOP had a huge amount of power by having control over the debt ceiling and would be stupid to allow the president to take that from them as he’s proposed doing.

Politico Just Realized Progressives Have Gripes About Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

Now that Barack Obama has been successfully re-elected, The Politico has miraculously discovered that some progressives are not exactly thrilled with the most left-wing president in American history. The lefties want more, says Politico. But, is this turn about really that sudden?

In a lengthy December 2 piece, Politico lays out the left-wing voices in the “progressive media” that have lately taken to criticizing the president for not leaning far enough to the left. If not criticizing, exactly, perhaps a more fitting word is they are “encouraging” Obama to take up the left-wing policies he’s given lip service to but not pushed too hard to implement.

The absurd aspect to Politico’s piece is that the Internet newser seems to think this criticism is all new. One has to wonder why Politico has paid no attention to the far left’s criticism until now? Perhaps Politico wanted to make it seem as if the left was united and had no qualms over Obama but now that he’s safely re-elected, it is Politico, rather than the far left, that finds it is safe to criticize the president?

The Lies The SEIU Tells Its Members

-By Warner Todd Huston

This week the SEIU sent out an email to its members hoping to drum up some hate against the fast food chain Wendy’s. The email not only had one outright lie, it was also a sad example of how stupid unions think their members really are.

The email starts out as if it is from a Wendy’s employee named Joshua Williams.

Mr. Williams may or may not really exist, but the union created a video featuring a person claiming to be this Williams fellow, so maybe he’s real and maybe he isn’t. But that isn’t the obvious lie. The obvious lie is in the email’s very first paragraph. The SEIU has been trying to unionize the fast food industry.

Last year, the CEO of Wendy’s took home $16.5 billion dollars while I barely scraped by on $16,000.

The email then goes on to suggest that the fast food industry needs to be unionized so that… oh, I don’t know … maybe so that guys like Mr. Williams can be the ones to take home “$16.5 billion dollars,” or something? Yeah, we all understand that a burger flipper takes exactly the same skills as the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation. It’s just the same, of course.

Whatever.

But let’s look at the claim of this “Mr. Williams,” if he really exists.

Sun-Times: J.Jackson Jr. Like a Greek Hero?

-By Warner Todd Huston

A Chicago Sun-Times columnist is saddened by the flame out of Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr., the Chicago Congressman that just resigned after a Congressional investigation into misuse of campaign funds. His story is that of a Greek hero, she claims.

Columnist Laura Washington waxes poetic about Jackson, Jr.’s fall from grace likening him to legendary Greek character Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and fell from the skies. But she doesn’t cut him much slack, really.

Washington notes that Jackson, Jr. isn’t the first 2nd District Congressman who has been a disappointment to voters. In fact, he’s the third in a row that left office under a cloud. Jackson replaced Mel Reynolds who went to jail for sexual misconduct, child pornography and obstruction of justice and Reynolds replaced Gus Savage, a long-time Illinois pol who left office after the House investigated him for sexual misconduct.

Chris Matthews: Conservatives Are Like Hitler, White Men Want End to Minority Vote

-By Warner Todd Huston

During his November 26 MSNBC circus, Chris Matthews childishly linked conservatives unhappy with the results of the past election to Hitler and the Nazis. Not only that but he claimed that white men and Mitt Romney were really working to return our electoral system to the day when only white men that owned land were allowed to vote.

Before Matthews got to his illogical and disconnected Hitler comparison, Matthews first made the silly claim that one of Mitt Romney’s goals was to return the nation to a day when only landed, white men could vote.

Matthews began discounting the right’s reverence for our founding fathers then went on to disgorge his foolish conspiracy theory.

But the notion that the free men of this country are white men of property and that is really what Romney ran on, white men of property. He didn’t say it intellectually. I don’t think he put it in any words. But look who he was rallying to as, you know, as, as, Howie just pointed out, that seemed to be the rallying cry. “Men of property, join together. Defend the wagon train against the onslaught of the others!” That seemed to be what they were doing in this campaign.

Ah, so Romney didn’t say this at all and neither did anyone else, but Chrissy knows what they really mean, eh?

NBC Nixes Chelsea Clinton/Gay Marriage Ads

Despite that Chelsea Clinton has been an advocate for gay marriage for some time, during the 2012 election campaign NBC refused to allow her to appear in advocacy videos made by a Washington State-based gay marriage advocacy group that was trying to get a gay marriage referendum placed on the ballot there.

Clinton, an employee of NBC News, was hired in 2011 to do feels good-type stories that aren’t political in nature and due to her contract the network refused to give the gay advocacy group the go ahead to run the ads either on TV or the web.

Clinton had already filmed the advocacy ads before NBC rendered its decision.
