Chicago Finally Dumps Unconstitutional Gun Registry

On September 11, the City of Chicago finally dumped its unconstitutional requirement that gun owners register their guns with the city.

The city put the registry in place in 1968 after several lawsuits in the city and well as after the state passed stricter gun laws.

But today the courts have insisted that for too long Chicago has abused its resident’s Second Amendment rights and the city has had no choice but to give up its practice.

After the December 2012 ruling by an appeals court that the state’s ban on concealed carry was unconstitutional the state finally reversed its longstanding ban. But that left Chicago’s strict gun bans in an untenable spot.

The city is only now starting to grapple with what it will have to do to satisfy the court’s rulings and the state has been dragging its feet for months on what to do. Even after the new concealed carry law was passed the state has dragged its feet on allowing its citizens to observe their Constitutional rights.

In any case, slowly but surely Illinoisans are getting closer to having their rights finally recognized. But it is agonizingly slow, not to mention unconstitutional.

House Rules Say We Can’t Defund Obamacare? Of Course We Can!

We are hearing from many of our representatives that it just isn’t possible to defund Obamacare because the House rules say they can’t. This, as it happens, is just a dodge. The House has defunded separate things while passing the rest of a budget many times.

One of the things that weak-willed Republicans that don’t want to discuss defunding Obamacare say is that the mandatory spending cannot be clocked with an appropriations bill. This is simply not true. In fact, it has been done many times in the past.

The most obvious example is the Hyde Amendment which has renewed every single year since 1976 and prevents the expenditure of federal tax dollars on abortion. It applies both to discretionary spending as well as mandatory spending.

But abortion, you may say, is such a special situation that maybe it should be treated as such and left out of the discussion.

Then let’s do that. Let’s forget the Hyde Amendment. But there is far more evidence that the House commonly makes changes to appropriations.

Hillary Clinton Heckled While Receiving ‘Liberty Medal’

Everyone expects Hillary Clinton to run for President in 2016. But will her crimes in Benghazi dog her if she tries it? Maybe. But at least right now the question is dogging her if the protester that yelled out “Benghazi” and otherwise heckled her as she was given the misnamed “liberty medal” this month is any indication.

Hillary Clinton told the nation that her actions in Benghazi don’t matter, that we should forget the whole thing, because, as she said in testimony before Congress, “what difference at this point does it make?”

Every criminal in history would love to say that, wouldn’t they? At his trial for murder, I’m sure mad Charlie Manson would love to have said, “what difference at this point does it make?” and be let off the hook for the murder of Sharon Tate. Right?

UPDATED: Tell Hultgren to Drop His Support For A New Obama National Global Warming-Pushing Czar

Illinois’ 14th District Congressman, Randy Hultgren, is a co-sponsor of a bill to create a national Science Laureate. This position will be little else but a chance for Obama to push someone into the national debate that supports all his favorite, left-wing pseudo scientific ideas like global warming, abortion, so-called green energy, and anti-fracking policy ideas. Hultgren needs to be urged to remove his support for this bill.

Now, at first blush, a Science Laureate almost seems like a harmless idea, one created to encourage kids, for instance, to feel that science is cool. And in fact, that is Hultgren’s point by co-sponsoring the bill.

Here is what a staffer from his office has said of the bill: “This is not a presidential appointment, and there would be no taxpayer money involved. This bill is simply a chance to show our children that discovery science is important and that science can be an exciting and rewarding career.”

Seems inoffensive, right?

Think again.

Not Learning from Colorado Recall, California Looking to Impose Harsh New Gun Laws

California already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation and if the state’s extremist Democrats get their way, they are going to make those laws even harder on law abiding citizens.

Democrats are sending several new, highly restrictive laws to Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown in hopes of further limiting Californian’s Second Amendment rights.

As Bloomberg News reports, the new laws would “outlaw semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines, ban adapters to convert magazines to high-capacity clips, order safety certification to buy any gun and require ownership records for all firearms.”

These bills are ready for Governor Brown’s signature in Sacramento, the state capitol.

Florida County Employee To be Fired for Anti-Islam Facebook Post

An employee of Palm Beach County posted some harsh comments about Islam on his Facebook page on the anniversary of 9/11 and now faces possible firing or discipline at work for making the post.

Palm Beach County Public Affairs staffer John Jamason posted some critical comments about Islam on Facebook but once his boss, Palm Beach County Administrator Bob Weisman, found out about the post Jamason was told that he may face discipline for the harsh words.

Jamason posted comments on his own personal Facebook page–not one related to the county government–and he feels that he should face no punishment at all for indulging his own free speech.

Vermont College Radicals Deface 9/11 Memorial

At least two memorials to Americans killed on Sept. 11, 2001 were defaced on the 12th anniversary of the attacks, one in Lafayette, LA and one at Middlebury College in Vermont. In Vermont, it was a handful of radical, left-wing, fake American Indian activists that did the defacing of the memorial there.

Memorialists at the Vermont’s Middlebury College had gotten permission of the administration to place 2,977 mini US flags on a campus courtyard to remember those fallen on that terrible day. But early on the morning of Sept. 11, a group of about five students pretending to be Indian activists yanked all the little flags out of the ground and threw them in the trash.

The students, two of whom are Amanda Lickers and Anna Shireman-Grabowski, removed the flags claiming they were “offensive” because the flags were placed on some sort of “Indian burial ground.” This is, of course, a false claim.

Miss Kansas is a bowhunting, tattooed, blond-haired, member of the National Guard and she hopes to become the next Miss America winner.

“Nobody expects a soldier to be a beauty queen,” Theresa Vail recently told People magazine. “But I’m all about breaking stereotypes.”

“My whole platform is empowering women to overcome stereotypes and break barriers. What a hypocrite I would be if I covered my ink,” Vail said. “How can I tell other women to be fearless and true to themselves if I can’t do the same? I am who I am, tattoos and all.”

Vail, a Second, Sgt. in the Kansas National Guard, has two large tattoos. The one on her left shoulder is the insignia for the U.S. Army Dental Corps. The second is a version of the Serenity Prayer and runs down her entire right side.

Sgt. Vail is an M16 marksman, a bow hunter, and a mechanic. The Miss Kansas Pageant was her first pageant, a contest she won nine months ago. She entered on the advice of her commanding officer.

School Tells Little Girl She Can’t Write About God

Remember this: liberal education policy maintains that Christians are evil. We must also remember that our system of miseducation enforces that position every day. We see it this time in Tennessee where a school has told a little girl that she isn’t allowed to write about God.

Todd Starnes of Fox News Radio reports this latest outrage against freedom OF religion in our schools where we find little 10-year-old Erin Shead who was attacked by her teachers for writing about god for an assignment about someone she idolized at Lucy Elementary School in Millington, Tennessee.

“I look up to God,” she wrote. “I love him and Jesus, and Jesus is His earthly son. I also love Jesus.”

God would “always be the #1 person I look up to,” the little tyke wrote.

The Business of Guns: Just How Much $$ Does the Gun Industry Infuse into the Economy?

Gun manufacturing and sales is big business in the United States–as it turns out, one of the biggest.

In terms of gun ownership, the U.S. is the runaway global leader. There are nearly nine firearms for every 10 American citizens; this proportion is 40% higher than that of Yemen, which ranks second in the world for gun ownership.

Every year, nearly 9 million firearms enter the U.S. market. 5.5 million guns are manufactured domestically, and roughly 95% are eventually sold to Americans. Left-Wing School Officials Ban School Rifle Team From Yearbook

Parents of kids on Pennsylvania high school rifle team want to know why their kids’ activity was banned from appearing in the school’s yearbook.

When Parents of kids on the Emmaus High School championship rifle team got news that their kids’ activity didn’t show up in the Hornet, the school’s yearbook, not even a mention much less a photograph, there were questions galore. Like, was the team banned from the yearbook because the left-wing school district is anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment, and anti-Constitution?

Parents went to the September 9 school board meeting hoping to get answers to these important questions but the school board ignored them and offered no answers.

As it happens the Emmaus school rifle team was a big winner recently having won the 2012-13 district competitions. Still, the club was ignored by the school’s yearbook committee.

MAJOR FAIL: Million Muslim March Draws Only a Few Hundred

We’ve been keeping an eye on the so-called Million Muslim March that was planned for today, the 12th anniversary of the attacks by Muslims on the USA on Sept. 11, 2001. Well, we can all laugh at them now as it looks like the march garnered a few hundred thousand less than the “million” Muslims they planned on hosting. In fact, only a handful bothered to show up.

The event seems to have garnered only about a hundred people which is a teeeny, tiny bit less than the “hundreds of thousands” that DC residents were warned were on the way to the nation’s capitol.

Amusingly, after a lot of backlash against their million terror-supporter march, the event coordinators tried a last minute renaming of the event. They decided to re-brand it the “Million American March Against Fear.”

The Syrian rebels that Obama wants to help have been accused of dismembering a precious little girl with a hand saw, WHILE she was still alive. These are the people that Barack Obama thinks are the good guys in Syria.

This is being recorded more every day as Obama’s al Qaeda-backed rebels are sweeping through ares not controlled by the brutal Assad regime and murdering everyone that won’t pledge allegiance to radical Islam.

The horrendous story comes from Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, a Catholic nun and mother superior of St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria.

Jay Leno Slams Obama’s Feckless Syria Policy

Jay Leno has been hitting Obama more and more as he winds down his hosting of NBC’s The Tonight Show, and on the day Obama delivered his speech on Syria, Leno smacked the President on that very issue.

Leno let loose a cascade of jokes showing how foolish and feckless Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, and the suddenly invisible VP Joe Biden has been on Syria, even working in a new “birther” joke into the mix.

Leno began by turning a remark on the weather into a slam on Obama’s Syria policy. “You can tell fall is coming to the east,” Leno said. “The leaves are changing faster than the White House position on Syria. It’s unbelievable.”

Then Leno slammed Secretary of State John Kerry joking that he “has given Syria one week to hand over its chemical weapons. And if they don’t, he’ll give them another week. So that’s kind of where we are right now.”

Leno wrapped up his series of Syria jokes with two more saying that one good thing has come out of Syria: Joe Biden has stopped talking. And then said that foreign countries are not so happy with Obama these days. In fact…

“President Obama’s foreign policy is taking a beating, especially abroad,” Leno jabbed. “They’re not as excited about him as they used to be. In fact, people in Kenya are saying, ‘We’re positive he wasn’t born here.”

It is interesting to see Jay Leno slamming the President more every night, isn’t it?

Colorado Dem Senators Get Recalled, PPP Polling Throws Out Own Poll Foreshadowing Results

Today we have a great example of a polling firm allowing its political ideology to get in the way of its work. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, two anti-Second Amendment State Senators in Colorado were recalled by huge margins. In the days before the recall vote took place, Public Policy Polling (PPP) had conducted a poll that showed that the senators were about to be eliminated by voters but the firm refused to publish its own poll because the left-wing pollsters couldn’t imagine the results could possibly be right. Colorado just couldn’t be that right-leaning, PPP thought.

Firstly to explain what occurred in the recall vote, and this is a great victory for Second Amendment supporters, too, we need to expound a bit on the whole thing.

State Senate President John Morse and fellow Senator Angela Giron were two principal supporters of the strict new anti-Second Amendment gun laws that were forced onto Colorado in the aftermath of the shooting in an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

But Morse and Giron pushed these anti-gun laws contrary to the wishes of their own constituents. After the laws were forced down Coloradan’s throats, both Morse and Giron admitted that they ignored their own voters and did so for their own good and were proud that they did so.

A recall effort began almost immediately and both were successfully cast into a recall election by local, grassroots organizers who gathered the requisite number of signatures to get the recall elections scheduled.

But in the run up to the recall elections hundreds of thousands of dollars in political spending flooded the two districts. Most of this outside money was from left-wing organizations attempting to defeat the local gun-supporters and their effort to recall the two senators. The recall election became an important battle ground between the constitution-hating left and supporters of the Second Amendment.

On September 10, the recall election was held and both were recalled handily. It was the first time any state lawmaker has ever been recalled.

On Sept. 10, President Obama delivered his speech to the nation on his thoughts on the Syria problem. His speech was contradictory, confused, and, well here is a “shorter Obama” version of what he said: “We’ll strike, but we won’t, our threats are enough, but they aren’t, our strike will be small but big and powerful, IT’S FOR THE CHILDREN!!!”

Of course, President Obama is all upset that the Syria rebels–many of whom are al Qaeda terrorists–are being attacked by Syria’s dictator, Bashar al-Assad, and he’s touted his famed “red line” that will cause him to consider US military intervention in the civil war. But Obama and his crew have not mentioned one thing about any “red line” for the beheadings, rapes, murders and oppressions of Syria’s minority Christians by the very rebels he claims to want to support.

Who would have thought that 11 years after the attacks on 9/11 our own president would be supporting al Qaeda?

The Modern Tokyo Times has a very revealing article revealing how Syria’s Christians–who were living in the region before Islam was invented–are systematically ignored by President Obama and his administration even as these believers are increasingly being murdered by the very people Obama is supporting.

9/11 Still Infuriates Most, But Some Want to Forget–NEVER Forget

I’ve been mulling this all day today. What should I say about the twelfth anniversary of terror attacks of 9/11/2001? I mean, everyone expects a blogger to have something to say, right?

Many people have written me to let me know that they feel I am “a good writer.” Of course, I thank them for this compliment, but sitting here all day looking at an empty word document sitting ready to be filled with my 9/11 remembrance with words coming so slowly, I practically feel that my little reputation is unearned. I’ve just found it so hard to start this piece.

But I realized why it is so hard for me to start this piece. I am still furious, feelings are still too raw, I still well up when I see video of the towers falling, my heart still stops when I see that heart-wrenching image of bodies falling from windows hundreds of feet in the air. I still get that dark feeling in the pit of my stomach, the same one I felt that morning in 2001.

It’s all still too emotional to write a mere memorial. Words fail me.

D.C. Denies Patriotic Bikers Permit to Rally on Sept. 11, But Allows Muslims to March

We reported about the story weeks ago about the planned Sept. 11 Million Muslim March on Washington DC. Then there was a response to that rally that was planned by patriotic bikers intending to get two million bikers to Washington. Well, now a new wrinkle to the story is out with the city of Washington DC deciding to deny the bikers a permit to do a no-stop ride through even as they allow the terror-approver’s march to take place.

The much criticized Million Muslim March is being planned by a group calling itself the American Muslim Political Action Committee and is nothing less than an effort to stick a terror-supporting finger in American’s collective eye. There is no possible reason to hold a Muslim-supporting event on the very day their cohorts murdered thousands of Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. No other reason unless they want to rub America’s nose in that act of terror.

Washington Post Slams Obama for wanting to ‘Trap Poor, Black Children’ in Bad Schools

The President’s Department of Justice is taking the State of Louisiana to court over its school voucher program and the lawsuit is such a bad idea that even the left-wing Washington Post is criticizing the administration for the slight, saying that AG Holder wants to “trap poor, black children in ineffective schools.”

The Post begins its editorial board September 1 piece pointing out that “nine of 10 Louisiana children who receive vouchers to attend private schools are black. All are poor and, if not for the state assistance, would be consigned to low-performing or failing schools with little chance of learning the skills they will need to succeed as adults.”

But what the editorial board says in its next sentences is shocking for a paper that generally supports the left.

“So it’s bewildering, if not downright perverse,” the paper says, “for the Obama administration to use the banner of civil rights to bring a misguided suit that would block these disadvantaged students from getting the better educational opportunities they are due.”

Meghan McCain Feeds Left’s Attacks, Says GOP is ‘Not All Crazy Rednecks’

Meghan McCain is about to start a new “reality” TV show called Raising McCain soon to debut on the new Pivot cable TV channel. But true to her past five-years of public life, she can’t help taking jabs at Republicans and conservatives as she does it.

The show will feature McCain and her friends sitting around talking about the news of the day in what is promised to be a hip, casual style meant to appeal to youthful viewers.

In a recent interview about her upcoming show, McCain complained about all the people attacking her and maintained that her new show won’t be a political pundit-styled show because people were so “mean” to her that she is through with punditry.

“I spent the majority of my 20s having people like Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham say nasty, personally hateful things about me, about my body, about my personal life,” McCain told POLITICO. “…with people trying to humiliate me or make me out to seem like I’m stupid, or a whore, and it’s just not the energy that I want to put out anymore. …I just got to a point where I’d like to do something that’s a little different and I’ve never been happier.”

But showing why folks on the right might be a bit irked at her, along with slamming conservative political talk-show hosts, McCain went on in the interview to bash Republican Chris Christie, criticized the “extreme right-wing,” and make calls for “bipartisanship.”

Last week’s jobs report indicated more of the same for the American people with the economy continuing on a sluggish path. While the unemployment rate dropped to 7.3%, it dropped for all the wrong reasons with the labor force participation rate dropping to its lowest level since 1978. To make matters worse, we also learned that the President’s economy added fewer jobs in July than previously thought.

Hollywood Anti-War Left Fears It’s Racist to Oppose Obama’s Syrian War

Actor Ed Asner has explained why the anti-war Hollywood left is absent from the fight against Obama’s war in Syria. Hollywood is more afraid of looking like racists than interested in standing up for their supposed principles against killing people.

Asner made the accusation in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter though he also fell back on Bush-was-worse claims.

Asner is opposed to any military intervention in Syria and said that it could be considered a “war crime” if Obama were to initiate any such action, but he also had an interesting explanation on why there is no organized anti-Syria war movement in Hollywood.

“A lot of people don’t want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama,” Asner said.

Typical: Democrats Trying to Steal the Recall Election in Colorado

Currently in Colorado there is a recall election being staged for two Democrat State Senators. Naturally, Democrats have already been caught trying to steal this election with rampant voter fraud.

Senate President John Morse and Pueblo Senator Angela Giron, both Democrats, are being recalled because of their anti-Second Amendment votes and because they have systematically ignored the will of their constituents by voting along with the desires of the national Democrat Party instead of on local issues.

These two elections are fraught with national significance and a ton of outside money from the left, and some but not nearly as much from the right, have flooded these two districts.

Because of the national profile of these elections as a fight over the Second Amendment, Democrats are desperate to win and–as usual–will break any law to force that win.

In the video you see Democrats being accused of stuffing the ballot boxes with perhaps hundreds of illicit ballots dropped off when the election itself is supposed to be a walk-in vote only with only “hardship” ballots mailed in or dropped off early.

Figures, doesn’t it? Thieves and crooks will never change their spots and you can’t be a Democrat without those indelible spots in full bloom.

US University Bars Conservative Women from Speaking

Our “tolerant” Universities strike again. This time its the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill barring two conservative women from speaking on campus.

See, folks, even in red states the university system is corrupted and anti-American and here is yet another example of this truism.

The U of NC uninvited two well known conservative investigative reporters, Katie Pavlich and Ann McElhinney, after they were scheduled by the college Republican club to speak on campus.

Just in case you don’t know the two women in question…

Pavlich is news editor for the popular conservative website Townhall.com, as well as the award-winning author of the New York Times bestseller “Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-Up.” As a reporter, she broke the so-called fast and furious scandal, and has also covered the White House, the 2012 presidential election, and Second Amendment and border issues.

McElhinney, co-producer of the feature documentary “FrackNation,” is well-known as a debunker of extreme environmentalist claims. As a filmmaker and investigative journalist, she has produced documentaries for BBC and written for various newspapers covering countries including Indonesia, Romania, Vietnam, Cambodia, Uganda, Madagascar and Uzbekistan. She has appeared on an array of international media organizations including ABC, BBC, CBC (Canada), ABC (Australia), RTE (Ireland) and Fox News, and is a regular guest on talk radio shows and at conferences across America.

So what was the “reason” given for denying these speakers? It was, according to the left-wing student government that is responsible for doling out the speaker fees, because the two women were “unimpressive nonacademics whose speaking honorariums are too high and credentials too unremarkable to pay to have them give talks at the University.”

AFP Honors Illinois Activists Robert and Tempie Lyons

On Friday night, August 30, during its 7th Annual Defending the American Dream Summit, held this year in Universal Orlando theme park in Orlando, Florida, Americans for Prosperity honored Robert and Tempie Lyons for the hard work of defeating a tax hike in the downstate community of O’Fallon, Illinois, a community just east of St. Louis.

The Lyonses, members of both the Metro East Pachyderm Club, a state Republican organization, and Americans for Prosperity, worked against a property tax hike that would have added several hundred dollars per year to every home in the community.

The pair hosted numerous phone banks in their home and spent weeks calling residents to warn them about the tax hike proposal, urging them to vote against it.

When Election Day arrived, the tax hike went down to defeat by 65 percent.

For their work, the Lyonses were awarded AFP’s “Activists of the Year” award.

The United States should not take unilateral hostile action in Syria as we, as a nation, have nothing to prove and certainly nothing to gain in executing limited and thereby ineffective, strikes against the Bashar al-Assad regime. Furthermore, we cannot predict what the regional consequences will be and are completely unclear as to what a Syria after Assad would even look like. Though it is certain that the United States is the leader of the free world, it is also painfully obvious, that under this current administration, our country lacks the military, moral and economic capacity to influence significantly events in the Middle East toward the betterment of America’s interests.

It is also fundamentally clear that the will of people does not support another haphazard amateurish venture into the tribal and religious morass that constitutes the geopolitical swamp of that whole region. Polling indicates that the majority believes the US cannot always be the world’s policeman, especially at this particular point in our history. Even President Obama, concluded today that he is not solely responsible for holding Assad accountable, that is, “drawing a red line”, but rather the world community has established the standard that chemical weapons can never be used.

The good folks of your favorite TV reality show, Duck Dynasty, are holding what they call the “Duck Commander Sunday Services,” from now on. And, typical of their humorous, straightforward personalities, even made a joke at the atheists in a recent Sunday service.

The wise-cracking, Duck call-making family are holding court each Sunday at a Louisiana church and in a report by The Blaze, they are all true to form singing, preaching, and making jokes as they led their congregation in services this last weekend, on Sunday, September 1.

As The Blaze reports, “‘Our attendance doubled on Sunday and I can’t tell you how many visitors told me that there is just something about White’s Ferry Road church that feels like you just came home,’ Ryan Howard, brother of Willie Robertson’s wife Korie, told TheBlaze.com in an email. He said the West Monroe church’s two Sunday morning services had over 3,000 people.”

The religion of peace is at it again, this time throwing stones at Jews visiting one of the most holy sites for three world religions. Jews arriving at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City as they begin preparations to celebrate Rosh Hashanah were attacked by Muslims looking to prevent them from worshipping.

Rosh Hashanah is one of Judaism’s most holy days and the Temple Mount one of its most holy sites, but once again Muslims gathered to physically harm anyone not Muslim.

The attacks on Jews rose to such a fracas that police were called to put an end to the brawling between the attacking Muslims and the defending Jews.
