CPAC Chicago, Wisconsin Praised, Obama Razed — Part One: Rick Santorum, Ron Johnson

-By Warner Todd Huston

Well, Friday evening, June 8, 2012, we marked the end of the first CPAC event held in Chicago and what a great event it was. The triumph in Wisconsin was on everyone’s mind but so was Obama’s dismal record. Not just dismal, but according to several speakers, even dangerous. The economy and the election of Romney were focal points but so was foreign policy this day. One theme, though, was constant: Obama has to go.

Because of other things going on and the several press availability sessions, I didn’t catch every speaker in the main hall, but I did hear the speeches of (in this order) former Senator Rick Santorum, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, Indiana Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Illinois Representative Peter Roskam, Minnesota Representative Michelle Bachmann, and Illinois Representatives Joe Walsh and Randy Hultgren. I also heard and recorded the press availability sessions of Herman Caine, Peter Roskam, and Michelle Bachmann and I caught most of Kansas Representative Tim Huelskamp’s.

Other notables whose speeches I missed were Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Heritage Foundation President Ed Feulner, and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.

The event was a great success with well over 2,000 participants, all seats filled for the most part during the speeches and some great groups like the United Republican Fund, the Illinois Policy Institute, the Heartland Institute, Champion News, and others hosting and participating.

I’ll say a few words about the speakers I did see in the order I saw them and I’ll do this in a few installments so that this won’t be one long, overly taxing post. Now, as each of these speakers appeared before us I live Tweeted their comments, so the following quotes are pulled from my Twitter feed.

But before I do that, each speaker was quite enthusiastic over the win of Governor Scott Walker who defeated an effort by the far left and their union overlords to recall him in Wisconsin. Each speaker praised Walker and crowed about the left’s loss in there. I won’t regurgitate the Wisconsin hunk of each speaker as they were pretty much all the same; exuberant. The essential point was that we are all cheeseheads now.

Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum on the main stage

Former Pennsylvania Senator and recent GOP Presidential candidate Rick Santorum gave one of his well-crafted, typically workman-like speeches. One of Santorum’s early points was that America is at a “tipping point” and we’d better be there to tip it in the right direction.

Chicago Bloggers Onto Obama’s Membership in Communist Group Early

-By Warner Todd Huston

With the news of Stanley Kurtz’ NRO piece about Obama’s membership in a radical, communist-styled political party in Chicago making the rounds today, it is instructive to note that bloggers had all this info years ago, before Obama ran for the White House in 2008.

Back in the late 1990, then State Senate candidate Barack OBama attended meetings in Chicago of the “New Party,” a radical, left-wing pseudo party whose goal was to push very radical leftist ideas and candidates. Obama joined that party and sought openly sought their support.

When all this news came about in 2007 and 2008, Obama’s operatives vehemently denied Obama’s participation with the radical New Party. Kurtz himself wrote of this back in 2008 and was roundly criticized for it.

Today Kurtz is ballyhooing further proof that he was right all along.

Who is the Domestic Terrorist Targeting Conservative Bloggers?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Back on May 24 I posted a story on convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin who had launched a crusade not only to drag some conservative bloggers to court with nuisance lawsuits, but to try and intimidate them by posting things about their personal lives like phone numbers, addresses and that of the blogger’s family members.

The worst of this attack has been born by blogger Aaron Worthing and Ali Akbar of the National Bloggers Club, the latter the man who came to Worthing’s defense to range a legal team for him.

Worthing was dragged to court by convicted Indiana bomber Kimberlin and after a convoluted case Worthing was actually jailed by a half-wit, elderly judges whose ancient misunderstanding of what goes on on the Internet led to a horribly bad decision that we all expect to have overturned in further proceedings.

Mr. Akbar on the other hand, was attacked by Kimberlin and his henchmen online after affording Aaron Worthing the assistance of his National Blogger’s Club. Michelle Malkin did a great write up of Akbar’s initial involvement in the case on June 6.

Half-Wit Hollywood Hottie: Hey Obama, Fire This Cop That Pulled Me Over

-By Warner Todd Huston

One-time Disney cutie Amanda Bynes was pulled over for drunk driving in Hollyweird this week. What was her reaction to this personal low? She thinks Obama should fire the cop that pulled her over.

No… seriously.

As soon as she was arrested, like every mind-numbed Obamaite she took to Twitter to demand that her messiah come to her aide.

Well, why not? After all, when Obama was immaculated his supporters imagined that their mortgages and rent would be free and he’d give them all sweet, no-show government jobs. Even Saint Obama himself said that the sea levels would fall with his election and his clownish vice president said that cancer would be cured if O won the White House.

This sort of religious-like belief in the omnipotence of a mere president is so entirely un-American. But aside from the cultural rot it evinces, it is also immoral to imagine that a political leader should be so all powerful. Would you want a president that has the power to fire a county sheriff for making a properly legal arrest for drunk driving? Is that really the sort of power that you want a prez to have??

That isn’t democracy, that isn’t American. It is totalitarian. But, that is how the left thinks. They are totalitarians at heart.

D-Day Anniversary: Remembering D-Day With Ike and Reagan

-By Paul Kengor

**NOTICE** This post has been updated for 2013 with added Reagan video and also with the full Kengor article reproduced. See the post HERE.

For me, Memorial Day happens twice within a week. The first, the official holiday at the end of May, is quickly reinforced a week later, every June 6: D-Day.

Of all the wartime anniversaries, none strike me quite like D-Day — the invasion of Normandy, the liberation of France, the final push to defeat Nazi Germany. It was June 6, 1944, a date that sticks like December 7, like July 4, like September 11. The mix of extreme sorrow and triumph has been unforgettably replicated on film by Steven Spielberg in the stunning opening of Saving Private Ryan.

What must it have been like to be among those first waves at the beaches? Indescribable, simply indescribable.

RIP Ray: Sci Fi Giant Ray Bradbury Slams Obama’s Era of Big Government

-By Warner Todd Huston

[Ed note: Ray Bradbury passed on last night. He was 91. In celebration of his life and work, I’ll repost this article that appeared here in August of 2010.]

The L.A. Times has a heartwarming story of literary giant Ray Bradbury who at 90 is not afraid to tell everyone exactly what he thinks. A gathering of admirers got an earful of Bradburyisms on the verge of his Aug 22 90th birthday celebration in Los Angeles. Bradbury railed against the “too many machines” that we surround ourselves with, lamented that we hadn’t colonized the moon by now, and said that the U.S. is in need of a revolution because “there is too much government today.”

You have to hand it to this wizened sage. He hit the nail on the head with every statement. Bradbury is so right to point out that we are losing our American soul and character.

Here are his statements as reported by the Times:

It’s Come to This: The ‘Tolerant’ Left’s Twitter Wishes for Scott Walker to be Assassinated

-By Warner Todd Huston

Yep, now the left reveals it’s true black, hateful, murderous heart…

I hope the governor has a good team of body guards that have all been vetted to make sure none of them are Democrats.

This is the heart of leftism. They love “democracy” when it goes their way. But when they lose, it isn’t time to retrench and try to figure out why their ideals were rejected. No, if they lose it is time to kill everyone that disagrees with them. That is the heart of leftism.

Democrat Vote Fraud Efforts Focusing on Dane and Milwaukee Counties

-By Warner Todd Huston

A few moments ago Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard reported on his Twitter that Democrats are getting a lawsuit ready in an attempt to get some left-wing judge to allow Dane and Milwaukee Counties to keep their polling places open late into the night so they can scam as many illegal votes as possible before the closing bell is rung.

Here is what Hayes Tweeted:

Two WI GOP sources say Dems/Barrett preparing lawsuit to keep polls open late in Dane & Milwaukee counties. GOP will fight it.

Dane and Milwaukee Counties are the two most left wing counties in the state with Dane being home to Madison, the state Capital, the same capital where thousands of union toughs spent months destroying public property in protest against their duly elected governor.

With reports that Democrats and out-of-state schemers and union thugs are bussing in thousands of illegal voters into Wisconsin, the vote fraud is mounting steadily.

As Hayes notes, the state Republicans are going to fight the move and they’d better. There is already going to be plenty of criminal vote fraud perpetrated by Wisconsin’s Democrat union thugs, so they’d better stop this move to stuff the ballot boxes even further in the two counties in question.

Democrats are not content to have an election run under rules. They are keen to play games with the system and indulge as much criminal activity as possible.

Government unions are antithetical to good government and they should all be eliminated. This travesty of an “election” is proof of that.

Chris Plante Show: Dems Shipping in Busloads of Fraudulent Voters into Wisconsin

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is the massive vote fraud I’ve been warning about and Gov. Walker better be prepared for it.

WMAL’s Chris Plante got a call today from a man claiming to be on one of four busses that are driving from Michigan to Wisconsin in order to have fraudulent voters flood the polls for Democrat Barrett who is vying to upset Wis. Governor Scott Walker.

The caller says that the busses were organized by an auto union to bring as many illegal votes to Wisconsin as they can.

Radio host Plante sums up the caller’s claim thus:

What you’re telling me is that the unions in Michigan have organized a bus convoy — and you’re riding in that bus convoy — and they’re bringing Michigan residents to Wisconsin in order to vote illegally for Tom Barrett.

Prediction: Media Will Dismiss Walker Win as Meaningless

-By Warner Todd Huston

As I write this it is only hours before the polls in Wisconsin open to take votes for the Walker recall effort. Polling data says that Walker will likely win this election, though the media spin this as a “close” thing. Whether Walker will win or not I won’t guess on the eve of voting day, but one thing I can say for a fact is that if Walker does win this election the media will claim that the election is meaningless as to any greater import to the 2012 election cycle.

That’s right, if Scott Walker retains his governorship, the media will suddenly find that this recall election really doesn’t mean a thing.

Now, this is a far different narrative as we stand pre-election day. The media has been calling this election an important bellwether for unionism. They have said that this election has excited unions and driven them to the streets in an important show of unanimity.

The election has also been called a trial run for the November presidential election one that might act as a guidepost of what will happen with Obama vs. Romney.

NBC Dumps Corey Booker, Punishes Out Spoken Black Democrat for Disagreeing With Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

Newark, New Jersey Mayor Corey Booker is apparently now washed up. He went from being one of the most prominent up-and-coming black Democrats to being on the outside looking in merely because he said something that diverges from Obama’s war on capitalism. Now even NBC is kicking him out of its Meet The Press studios. Yep, ol’ Corey is finished.

Only two weeks after Mr. Booker demurred from attacking Mitt Romney, Bain Capitol, venture capitalists, private equity — heck, even capitalism in general — NBC has replaced Booker with another black politician that will better pay fealty to Obama’s campaign for a second term, one that is based on a war on capitalism.

For Meet The Press, out is Corey Booker and now in is Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

Booker made himself a target of the media, leftists, and Obama supporters everywhere a few weeks ago by telling the audience of Meet The Press that all these attacks on capitalism perpetrated by Obama and his surrogates was “nauseating.”

Inexcusable: Thad McCotter Out of Congress Over Petition Sigs Snafu

-By Warner Todd Huston

What an inelegant way for such an illustrious career to end — perhaps if only temporarily. Congressman Thad McCotter (R, Mich) not only didn’t get enough signatures on his nominating petitions to get himself on the ballot for his reelection, the petitions his team did turn in were rife with duplicates and outright fraud. Now he’s announced that he is not running for reelection because of all this.

McCotter, 46, has been in Congress for ten years and has been considered a rising conservative star. He even made an abortive attempt to run for the 2012 GOP nomination for the White House. Now, he’s out of Congress on his ear due to nothing other than neglect of the nomination process.

McCotter initially announced that he was going to carry out a write-in campaign but has given up that idea, too.

As he announced the end of his last ditch effort to keep his seat, he had a message for Michiganders. “To those who unhappy at this news, I’m sorry; to those happy at this news, you’re welcome,” he said.

The write-in effort was necessary because McCotter’s campaign utterly bollixed the nominating petitions, didn’t get enough signatures, and clearly committed fraud in order to try and get the petitions in on time.

You Need to Watch This Sneak Preview of ‘Bunheads,’ a New TV Show

-By Warner Todd Huston

A new show is giving a sneak preview of its first episode online. I am almost afraid to say I thoroughly enjoyed this pilot episode of the new series from ABC Family entitled “Bunheads.”

Usually if a show doesn’t have a cop, an alien’s head exploding, a car chase, a cowboy shootout, or a space ship in it, I just don’t care to watch it. But I went to this sort of secretive website and put in the pass word “LyingGameFans” and watched this thing.

It was very good. It was sweet, funny, and utterly compelling. I think you’ll like it, too. I particularly liked the lack of a laugh track.

Here is the synopsis from the series website:

Bunheads is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl (series lead Sutton Foster), who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school.

From Executive Producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls, the series will be headlined by Tony Award®-winning actor Sutton Foster. Bunheads is set to premiere Monday, June 11.

I know, right? Gilmore Girls?? I never watched a single minute of that show, too girly for me. So, I went into this with no idea what to expect re the writing. And that writing was top notch, I felt.

I really liked this show. I think you might, as well. Go take a look and see if I’m right.

Racine Tea Party Rally for Scott Walker/Kleefisch (Also Paul Ryan, Dana Loesch, Tony Katz, More)

-By Warner Todd Huston

This morning I got up bright and early, jumped into the car and took a drive up into Wisconsin to witness the Racine Tea Party rally in support of Wisc. Governor Scott Walker. Speakers included the lovely Rebecca Kleefisch (Wis. Lt. Gov.), Rep. Paul Ryan, State Senator Van Wanggaard, Talk Show Host Tony Katz, Breitbart Editor Dana Loesch and more.

Racine Tea Party Main Stage

It was a beautifully sunny day, perfect temperature, a nice breeze swept over those 3,000 or more gathered, and, in fact, you couldn’t ask for a better out doors experience. But beyond the wonderful weather was the upbeat enthusiasm bubbling up from crowd and speakers alike. This was no down in the dumps group. They were ebullient and thrilled to be out and active for the conservative cause.

The crowd as seen from the main stage

Sign: “Republicans are Makers Democrats are Takers”

This recall election is a total sham. For one thing it is practically illicit. The Democrats never gave Walker a chance to do anything before claiming he needed to be recalled for cause. They’ve abused the recall law, too. Officials are supposed to be recalled for malfeasance in office, not mere political temper tantrums. One way to prove that these leftists violated the spirit of the law is the recall Walker website was registered the same day Walker was elected!

Yet, curiously enough there was no hate spewed — though certainly opposition expressed. There was also no upside down American flags, no communist propaganda, no signs with anyone called “Hitler,” and on top of all that there wasn’t a scrap of garbage left on the ground after everyone left. Not much like an Occupy Whatever rally, eh?

The morning started with the Americans For Prosperity bus pulling in and a short address by AFP President Tim Phillips who was introduced by California talk show host Tony Katz. Katz also emceed the later Racine rally, as well.

RightOnLine – Las Vegas, June 15-17 — BE THERE!

-By Warner Todd Huston

I’m headed to Vegas next month. Here’s why…

The event sponsored by Americans For Prosperity has already confirmed many of the speakers such as Michelle Malkin, Scott Rassmussen, Jonah Goldberg, Dana Loesch, and a host of others.

There is also another reason why you should go. Not only will you have the opportunity to hear some great speakers, but there will be all sorts of breakout sessions that will help you learn how to use the Internet to become a better conservative activist online.

Yet, that’s not all. You will also get a chance to see the premiere of the movie “Hating Breitbart.”

Join RightOnline for “Hating Breitbart” Exclusive Premiere

Misguided attacks, smears and accusations have often been directed toward conservative activists. But during the dawn of the tea-party movement, this hatred warped into attacks which became increasingly personal and hostile. No one knew this better than Andrew Breitbart, a nationally renowned conservative advocate and blogger who passed away suddenly earlier this year.

“Hating Breitbart” – two and a half years in the making – documents Breitbart’s rise in the media world, from the birth of the Tea Party in 2009 to early this year. The film shows behind the scenes footage of many of the explosive media controversies that Breitbart found himself at the center of, including the Congressman Weiner Twitter-scandal and the undercover recording of ACORN tapes. Learn more at www.hatingbreitbart.com.

We’re proud to announce that Americans for Prosperity Foundation and RightOnline will host a Hating Breitbart screening of select scenes on Friday, June 15th at the annual RightOnline Conference. RightOnline is the must-attend yearly conference for right-leaning media and bloggers to educate on and encourage online activism.

Rage in the Illinois House

-By Warner Todd Huston

Illinois House Rep Mike Bost (R, Murphysboro) came to his wits end over the last second introduction of a pension reform bill by House Speaker Michael Madigan (D). The bill was introduced only minutes before Madigan wanted to force the House to vote on the bill. As the bill was introduced, Bost went nuts on the floor screaming and throwing papers in a rage.

“These damn bills that come out here all the damn time, come out here at the last second!” Bost yelled. “I’ve got to figure out how to vote for my people!”

Bost’s biggest complaint is the fact that for years only one man has had total control over the entire state. That one person would be Democrat House Speaker Mike Madigan.

Supporting Wisconsin’s Lt. Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch

-By Warner Todd Huston

Many of you are aware of the recall election being held in Wisconsin. There, leftists and union thugs throughout the state are trying to oust the only recently elected Republican Governor, Scott Walker. But something many don’t realize is that Walker’s Lt. Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch, is also under recall in this needless and expensive re-do of the 2010 elections.

Kleefisch is the Republican Lt. Gov that entered office alongside Gov. Walker and she, too, is a target of these leftists. She hasn’t gotten the same publicity nation wide as Walker, of course, but she is just as deserving of our support and help. After all, the program that Walker and Kleefisch instituted has already saved Wisconsin $1 billion! Seems like a duo worth saving to me.

Despite what the pair have saved the state in budget dollars, estimates have varied on what this foolish recall election will cost, a recall effort that even liberal newspapers in Wisconsin oppose, but some are saying it will cost the donating mood, click on the image below and help Kleefisch out with the expenses that these liberals are forcing upon her, won’t you?

Too Many Republican Congressmen Giving Unions Free Tax Dollars

-By Warner Todd Huston

For such a blue state, Illinois has some rather good Republicans in Congress, but on one issue many of them consistently fail. That is in their unfortunate support for Big Labor. The issue of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) is a perfect example of this penchant to support issues dear to the hearts of Big Labor.

Unions love PLAs because the rule forces government construction projects to be conducted under union rules, to pay union pay scales to workers as well as pension payments to the union plans, and requires all work to be controlled by union bosses even if the companies hired to do the work are non-union. With PLAs unions feel they have the best of both worlds because they can still benefit from free government money even when they aren’t hired to do the work. In short, PLAs are a sop to unions.

The main problem with PLAs is that they drive up the costs of government building contracts from word go. This costs us all money and in this era when we need to be cutting back the skyrocketing costs of government adding rules that drive up costs before the first foundation is dug is madness. Worse it is unfair to the largest number of construction companies that aren’t union members as they are forced as a condition of getting the work to pay unions thousands out of their pockets even as they’ll never benefit from union pensions or other programs.

Sadly, too many Illinois Republican Congressmen have been consistently in favor of allowing unions this free government handout. It is probably not a huge surprise that even Republicans in deep blue Illinois might end up bowing to the needs of greedy Big Labor initiatives. But it is not a healthy support regardless.

Thank You Veterans

MSNBC Liberal Chris Hayes ‘Uncomfortable’ Calling Our Troops ‘Heroes’

-By Warner Todd Huston

After a morning in remembrance of our fallen troops and an afternoon firing up the gas grill to burn up a mess of burgers, hot dogs, and brats for my family as we observe what has become a traditional American Memorial day meal (Some of us in my household are working tomorrow, so we had our meal today), I find that MSNBC is observing this holiday in true liberal* fashion: denigrating our troops.

True to that liberal penchant of discounting the brave men and women that serve in our nation’s armed forces, I introduce to you a lowly personage named Chris Hayes, a left-wing MSNBC host whose show “Up” airs on the weekend.

This weekend Hayes felt compelled to warn everyone that calling our troops “heroes” is something that should make us all “uncomfortable.”

In an inordinately inarticulate way, here is what he said about our troops this weekend:

Thinking today and observing Memorial Day, that’ll be happening tomorrow. Just talked with Lt. Col. Steve Burke [sic, actually Beck], who was a casualty officer with the Marines and had to tell people [inaudible]. Um, I, I, ah, back sorry, um, I think it’s interesting because I think it is very difficult to talk about the war dead and the fallen without invoking valor, without invoking the words “heroes.” Um, and, ah, ah, why do I feel so comfortable [sic] about the word “hero”? I feel comfortable, ah, uncomfortable, about the word because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. Um, and, I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect memory of anyone that’s fallen, and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism: hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe I’m wrong about that.

(Thanks Newsbusters for the transcript)

This is typical of the hatred that liberals have for our troops.

Memorial Day 2012: THIS Is What American Troops Are Made Of…

-By Warner Todd Huston

For Memorial Day, I don’t usually post much, preferring to dedicate the day to memorializing our troops. To do that this year, I am going to share this story about the mettle of our troops. What follows are excerpts from remarks by Marine Lt. Gen. John F. Kelly to the Semper Fi Society of St. Louis on November 13, 2010. Kelly’s son, Marine 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly, 29, had been killed in action four days earlier in Sangin, in southern Afghanistan, while leading his platoon on a combat patrol:

Giving Thanks for Our Warriors

“Those with less of a sense of service to the nation never understand it when men and women of character step forward to look danger and adversity straight in the eye, refusing to blink, or give ground, even to their own deaths… No, they are not victims but are warriors, your warriors, and warriors are never victims regardless of how and where they fall. Death, or fear of death, has no power over them. Their paths are paved by sacrifice, sacrifices they gladly make… for you….

“Two years ago when I was the commander of all U.S. and Iraqi forces, in fact, the 22nd of April 2008, two Marine infantry battalions, 1/9 ‘The Walking Dead,’ and 2/8 were switching out in Ramadi… Two Marines, Corporal Jonathan Yale and Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, 22 and 20 years old respectively, one from each battalion, were assuming the watch together at the entrance gate of an outpost that contained a makeshift barracks housing 50 Marines… Yale was a dirt poor mixed-race kid from Virginia with a wife and daughter, and a mother and sister who lived with him and he supported as well. He did this on a yearly salary of less than $23,000. Haerter, on the other hand, was a middle-class white kid from Long Island. They were from two completely different worlds… But they were Marines, combat Marines, forged in the same crucible of Marine training, and because of this bond they were brothers as close, or closer, than if they were born of the same woman.

The Beginnings of Memorial Day

-By Warner Todd Huston

A few years after the Civil War as the nation started upon its long road toward reconciliation, rebuilding, and healing the wife of one of the war’s union generals noticed the touching devotion of Confederate widows, wives and their children as each year they came together to place flowers and little flags at the graves of their fallen. Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan was so moved by the devotion she witnessed that she urged her husband, Illinois General John A. “Blackjack” Logan, to look into creating what was to become Memorial Day.

General Logan was a Senator from Illinois and eventually became a candidate for Vice President on the 1884 Republican ticket, losing to Grover Cleveland and another Illinoisan, Vice President Adlai Stevenson. But before all that Logan was instrumental in creating Decoration Day, the celebration of the nation’s war dead that eventually became Memorial Day.

The following is the general order that Logan issued in 1868.

HEADQUARTERS GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC
General Orders No.11, WASHINGTON, D.C., May 5, 1868

The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

Obama Campaign Again Urging Supporters to Report on Non-Believers

-By Warner Todd Huston

Turning back to that page out of Stalin’s handbook for good citizenship, the Obama campaign has revived its program of asking Americans to inform on fellow citizens when they see someone, some organization, some politician, or some news outlet “attacking” the Obammessiah.

Some of you may recall the black eye that team Obama got when it tried to do this before. Obama’s Attack Watch was heavily lampooned.

One of the best tools that the East German and Soviet regimes had to keep the average citizen of their oppressive regimes in line was a program that urged citizens to tattle on their neighbors, that taught children to tell on their parents, and expected workers to rat out their co-workers. If someone came to the government informing on a fellow citizen, that citizen was praised and rewarded.

Now, Team Obama has gone all Stalin on us again with yet another such effort, this one called the Obama Truth Team. The new effort sports a page on the Obama-Biden website where you can “Fight Back: Report an Attack.” (See screen shot of page HERE)

There, Team Obama gravely informs its acolytes that they can “report” on anyone not spouting Team Obama’s mantra.

Received a robo-call or an email forward full of falsehoods? Found a misleading leaflet in your mail?

Tell us about it, and help fight back against the attacks on President Obama and his record.

There is also a hand-dandy form you can fill in to inform on whomever you think is not sufficiently sold on America’s Svengali in Chief.

But, Obama has done this now at least four times. Along with today’s new effort, there was Attack Watch, Fight the Smears, and Flag.gov. Obama has indulged the tattletale system many times in his short tenure at the White House.

The sad fact is that this whole mien is thoroughly anti-American.

The chief form of free speech that our founding fathers were keen to protect was political speech. They wanted no limits on that speech. Not only that but they wanted a political discourse free of intimidation, too.
