Paper: S.C. ‘Flooded’ With Emails Over Rep. Wilson, All 147 Of Them

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Sun News, a McClatchy owned paper in Myrtle Beech, South Carolina, was excited to tell its readers that the state’s tourism officials were getting “flooded” with emails from folks upset and threatening to cancel future vacations in South Carolina. What raised the ire of these emailers was the behavior of Representative Joe Wilson (R, SC) who called out that Obama was a liar during the president’s healthcare speech delivered before a joint session of Congress last week.

In its first two paragraphs, the Sun News made it seems as if an avalanch of folks had emailed state officials expressing their outrage.

State and local tourism officials are being flooded by e-mails and calls from people across the country, who say they won’t vacation in South Carolina because they’re upset by Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst at President Obama.

A number of the out-of-state e-mailers have said they’ve taken beach trips for years in Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head and other resort areas, but don’t plan to return, officials said.

The story goes on to rehash the whole Wilson “liar” incident assuming that all kinds of tourists are turning against South Carolina vacations because of Wilson’s conduct.

Talk Show Host Michael Savage’s Website Attacked by Hackers

-By Selwyn Duke

A little while back, talk show host Michael Savage had to endure an attack on his character when the British government associated him with terrorists and other criminals and banned him from traveling to the U.K. But on Saturday, August 22 the attack — or at least an attack — was brought to his own shores when a computer hacker damaged his website by sneaking into its server through a feedback portal, forcing technicians to shut it down for nearly an hour.

The attack came on the heels of sharp criticism leveled at the U.K. by Savage over its release of Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, prompting the host to speculate that the British government might have ordered the hacking effort in retaliation. Drew Zahn writes of Savage’s suspicions at WorldNetDaily.com:

“Why on the day of the worldwide furor over the release of the Lockerbie Bomber by [British Prime Minister] Gordon Brown would Michael Savage’s website be hacked?” the radio host posited. “We cannot say who did this, but would it not be a possibility that the Brits themselves ordered this hack-attack?

“Why?” Savage asked WND. “Because the evidence that they placed me on this list with real murderers and terrorists was a political favor to some Islamic nation can be found in the recently discovered e-mails, hidden until now by the Gordon Brown government. Their own e-mail chain on banning Savage states, ‘There is no evidence of Savage advocating or inciting violence,’ yet, by including Savage on this banned list it would ‘help provide a balance of types of exclusion cases,’ in other words, the list would not only contain radical Muslims but also a white male conservative.”

LATimes Finally Finds Graphics Like Commie Propaganda Art… And It’s Glenn Beck, NOT Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

After the last three years of President Obama’s graphics and poster art that evokes the style of graphics used in communist propaganda someone in the Old Media has finally discovered the similarity between today’s political graphics and communist styled propaganda art. And on top of that another we see another member of the Media calling us all “tea baggers”

So which of Obama’s posters is the L.A. Times saying is like commie art? Is it the “Hope” poster where Obama stares off into the distance like a communist leader attempting to inspire confidence in the viewer? Is it one of the other many posters that position Obama in similar poses to umpteen communist posters of ages past?

Nope, it’s Glenn Beck’s Taxpayer March logo that caused the Times to finally see a similarity with communist art.

Kansas City Star Runs Flak For Reporters Drunken Son

-By Warner Todd Huston

It’s always sad when the son of someone famous gets tangled up with the law. But even if sad, it is one ting that newspapers love because it gives them something salacious to excite their readers. Naturally, the first paragraph nearly always includes the name of the troubled scion as well as the name of his famous father or mother, especially if they are politicians.

But the Kansas City Star recently bucked this top-of-the-story outing of the parents of a troublemaker with the Sept. 11 tale of a young man that tangled with the Kansas City Police Chief at a KC Irish Fest event. According to the Chief this young man was incensed that the Chief was saving a spot near a band stage for a handicapped boy. The young man got so angry he dumped his beer all over the chief.

The Kansas City Star gave us all sorts of details, of course. It told us of the pithy line that the Chief says he delivered to the drunken man as he arrested him and detailed the scene as the beer was thrown. There was only one thing that got short shrift in the story: the name of the beer throwing young man.

Democrats Can Dish It Out But They Can’t Take It

-By Ann “Babe” Huggett

How soon Democrats forget! Didn’t we just finish up eight non-stop, miserable, name-calling, hate-filled, invective-slinging years by them aimed at President Bush and his policies? We are not just talking about the Daily Kossacks’ “Chimpy McHitler” taunts either. We’re talking Senator Harry Reid on record calling President Bush a “liar”, Senator John Kerry insulting US troops in Iraq by referring to them as “stuck” there because they obviously failed at school and Rep. John Murtha attacking US Marines for the fictional Haditha Massacre.

Let’s not forget the entire Main Stream Media banging the anti-war, anti-Bush drum incessantly either. Somehow Abu Ghraib was Bush’s fault as was Hurricane Katrina and global warming. One has only to go to a 2006 posting on Democratic Underground to see a thread offering new and exciting (to them) insults to be leveled at President Bush and the GOP.

Yet one lousy but brilliant poster of President Obama tricked out as the Joker in Batman with the word “Socialism” underneath and the Left falls apart. Why? Because the dead eyes of Obama correlated perfectly with the anarchy that he is unleashing on America with his Nanny State policies. In other words, it was believable! The Left had already used the same iconography to smear President Bush but it never took because Bush was still perceived as upholding American values.

Nasty Tennis Player’s ‘Anger’… Just Like Joe Wilson?

-By Warner Todd Huston

It was bound to happen, but it might have been the Orlando Sentinel’s TV reviewer Hal Boedeker that was first out of the gate to compare the obscenity laden tirade disgorged at a tennis match by Serena Williams to the no more than annoyed outburst of “you lied” from Representative Joe Wilson during President Obama’s healthcare speech.

Apparently, according to Sentinel columnist Boedeker, there is no difference to pointing out that a liar is lying, as Wilson did, and losing one’s mind in a petulant, childish explosion of anger, as Williams did. In fact, Boedeker didn’t just compare Wilson to the diva tennis player but he lumped Fox News, Tea Party attendees and Glenn Beck into the mix just for good measure. They are all “angry” according to Boedeker.

After comparing Williams tirade to Rep. Wilson, , Boedeker went on to claim that the “fury” of the Tea Party goers won’t help anything, then he chided Rep. Wilson for raising funds as a result of the incident last Wednesday, hit at Glenn Beck and Fox News, and on and on it went. It was one extended attack on everything conservative.

CNN’s Poll Vaulting

-By Warner Todd Huston

A short report on CNN’s Political Ticker is interesting for what it doesn’t mention in the story as well as its admittedly misleading trumpeted headline that Obama got “double-digit post-speech jump” after his Sept, 9 healthcare speech to a joint session of Congress.

First the headline: “CNN Poll: Double-digit post-speech jump for Obama plan.”

Reading that headline would lead someone to believe, well, that there was a double-digit jump in Obama’s numbers. After all, that’s what is says. But at the tale of the story the CNN piece the last paragraph admits that these numbers are heavily skewed to Democrats.

The audience for the speech appears to be more Democratic than the U.S. population as a whole. Because of this, the results may favor Obama simply because more Democrats than Republicans tune into the speech. The poll surveyed the opinions of people who watched Wednesday night’s speech, and does not reflect the views of all Americans.

Alright. That disclaimer is all well and good, but why the headline that would make reader imagine that it was a straight poll of people responding to the speech instead of a poll of mostly Democrats responding to the speech?

Union Boss Admits to Using Members as Political Activists

-By Warner Todd Huston

An interesting admission by James A. Williams, president of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades in Philadelphia, can be seen in an interview he did with the Philly Inquirer. It is an admission that conforms one of the things that anti-union folks have been saying for years, but one union officials are loath to admit.

While discussing the hard economic times, the Philly Inquirer asked how the recession was affecting the union. In his answer President Wilson admitted that his union uses out-of-work members for “political events.” Wilson mentioned that they lower dues to $1 a month after a member has been out of work for more than six months, but that isn’t just the kind hearted union looking out for its members. No, the union expects something in return for that lowering of dues.

Conn. Media, Dodd Staffer Hurl Lewd Reference at Tea Party Participants

-By Warner Todd Huston

The rude, sexually lewd epithet “tea bagger” is the latest snickering, inside joke the Old Media and the left are playing on the average, everyday Americans that have gone out of their way to join the many thousands of on-going Tea Party protests across the country. It also looks like Senator Chris Dodd’s campaign is utilizing the rude name, as well if a report in the Hartford Courant is correct.

First the Courant itself uses the name calling twice in the same piece and then Dodd campaign spokesman Jay Howser joined the rudeness by doing the same thing.

Howser went even farther calling the millions of Americans that have attended Tea Party events in every state of the union “extreme” and the “far right wing.”

We are coming: The president has more than Glenn Beck to reckon with

-By Marie Jon

There has been a huge surge in the influence of the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News. Beck has become one of the airwaves’ premiere conservatives.

Be gratified that there lives such a patriot among us. There is no doubt about it: Mr. Beck handed America a victory when he almost single-handedly forced a radical communist to resign from the Obama administration.

Personnel is policy

Beck’s nightly program on Fox is to be highly commended. Both Beck and his investigative staff keep “We The People” informed about those with whom President Barack Obama has surrounded himself. Beck has told his audience to judge Obama by the people the president relies on because they share his Marxist ideology — and boy, was he right on this one!

Not The Party of No, GOP’s Offered Many Healthcare Bills

-By Warner Todd Huston

For months the Old Media, President Obama, and the Democrats have been jabbing the GOP for being the “party of no” and for not offering any healthcare ideas of its own. Byron York of the Washington Examiner, however, reveals the facts behind this epithet and finds the attack to be false. The truth is, the GOP has offered all sorts of ideas and bills, not that the Democrats have bothered to entertain any of them.

We learned earlier in the week that Obama hasn’t invited GOP leaders to the White House since April. And there’s been report after report that Democrats either don’t need or don’t want to bother with Republicans during this process. All this despite Obama’s happy-talk of how he wants bi-partisanship.

AP Lauds Story of Big Anti-Cheney Petition Drive… of 150 Signatures?

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Associated Press must have thought that it had quite a story on its hands when it published “Protest brews over Cheney center at Univ. of Wyo.” After all, it had Dearth Cheney, protesters, a university and a petition drive to keep the evil VP at bay. It was all the makings of a good story of “controversy” of the Bush/Cheney years. Apreantly the era of hope-n-change has not quite depleted the APs desire to rehash the Bush years.

As it happens, the Cheney family is donating $3.2 million to the University of Wyoming for the new Cheney International Center that is being built on the Laramie campus. This donation was a result of several installments that Mr. Cheney made while he was vice president.

The AP starts out with its strongest shot over the former vps bow.

Kooks Now Run The Asylum, Part 1

-By Frederick Meekins

Every four years, the inauguration of the President sets the tone for the direction in which those in the highest executive office hope to steer the nation. Since that is the case, the American people should be very concerned about the lunacy put on display at the swearing in of Barack Obama from beginning to end.

With the gays going into the theatrical hysterics those of that proclivity are renowned for over the invocation delivered by Rick Warren, one would have hoped for something more theologically profound. However, many have no doubt heard sounder sentiments emanating from four year olds saying grace over crackers and juice.

Billy Graham in his heyday Warren is not. From Warren’s words, one could have easily come away assuming God did not know Obama was Black. Warren said, “…we celebrate a hinge point of history with the inauguration of the first African American president of the United States…We know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.”

These things didn’t even need to be mentioned. For decades now, we have been repeatedly told that it is not the color of skin but rather the content of character that counts.

Gov’t Refuses Transplant, NYTimes Says it’s Insurance Problem?

-By Warner Todd Huston

It is interesting to see how people will twist and turn reality in order to support President Obama’s socialistic healthcare program, but this story has to take the cake. It is the story as detailed in The New York Times of Eric De La Cruz, a young man who was sadly diagnosed with a heart condition in his 20s.

Eric was diagnosed with severe dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart that enlarges and weakens the heart muscle. Unfortunately, Mr. De La Cruz and his loving sister, former CNN on-air talent Veronica, toiled for several precious but wasted years to find a way to get the heart transplant that Eric needed to prolong his life. Mr. De La Cruz was never able to get his transplant and died waiting for a transplant that never came.

The delays were several. To begin with, Mr. De La Cruz did not have any insurance to rely on to fund his care. For several years the De La Cruz’ went through enrollment for Social Security disability benefits — of which he was twice refused — and later successfully for Medicaid benefits that would come through his home state of Nevada. Unfortunately, Nevada’s state enforced rules excluded anyone past the age of 20 for heart transplants. The state of Nevada determined it could not change its 20 and under rule even though it was clear that Mr. De La Cruz would die without the operation.

Wash. Post: Nationalized Healthcare is ‘The Most Catholic’?

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Washington Post’s religion writer Anthony Stevens-Arroyo had a lot of praise for Teddy Kennedy’s funeral Mass but not because of its religious content. Stevens-Arroyo thought that the thing that made the Kennedy funeral “the most Catholic” was the constant allusions to things political.

Stevens-Arroyo began his piece asking, “So, did Kennedy’s liberal politics interrupt a ritual meant to unite and not divide?” His answer seems to reveal his own liberal politics instead of any understanding of American Catholicism and he certainly comes down on the side of those that saw no reason not to impose political matters on a Mass.

After several paragraphs that celebrated the fact that Kennedy’s Mass featured “political persuasion in ritual,” Stevens-Arroyo goes on to excuse Kennedy for his support of abortion by removing any religious meaning to the issue and claiming it was only political. This in itself shows that Stevens-Arroyo, the religious reporter, doesn’t want to address the actual religious principle behind the issue.

But his view on what is and is not “Catholic” is what is most striking here.

A Teachable Moment Concerning Obama Quotations

-By Ann “Babe” Huggett

As the controversy surrounding President Obama’s September 8 education speech to the nation’s school children starts dying down, it’s easy for adults and even parents to forget that what was seemingly short, innocuous and narcissistic on the surface has a follow-up program of indoctrinating American children into the Cult of Obama. The speech is over, the lesson plans are just beginning and it’s going to be nine whole months of “Obama-this” and “Obama-that” for those students stuck in our ignorance factories a.k.a US public schools.

Originally, the main lesson plan was to have students follow-up their viewing of Obama’s “I-Me-Mine” oration with essays detailing how each student could personally “help Obama” achieve the President’s goals. However, that smacked too much of turning little Johnny and Janie Q. Public into junior enforcers of socialist engineering. Instead the essay was neutered to merely describing the student’s educational goals. Considering that most students have been trained to not only be dumber than dirt but to be eager participants in our current toxic culture, Obama’s exhortations to study, work hard and invent things must have come as quite a shock. Here they were expecting to be able to rhapsodize about becoming the next bling-laden rapper or Hollywood tartlet and instead now have to lower their expectations to pharmacist and secretary. Unless, of course, they can’t spell those types of careers and have to ask their teacher to suggest something like “brain surgeon” or “rocket scientist” in order to maintain self-esteem.

SFChron: Palin’s ‘Paranoid Politics’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Once again the extreme left goes into a conservative-bashing theory without the slightest knowledge of human nature not to mention owning even a tiny bit of introspection. This time it is one Geoffery Dunn of the San Francisco Chronicle who told his readers that Palin exemplifies America’s ages-old “paranoid-style politics.”

The piece is interesting for the fact that it is apparent that as the left-wing Dunn talks about “American paranoid-style politics” he offers examples from only the conservative side of the aisle. Apparently Mr. Dunn imagines “paranoia” only resides on the right in that “American” politics of which he assumes to be an expert.

Dunn amusingly praises the long-ago work of leftist professor Richard Hofstadter, whose fame came from his 1964 book “The Paranoid Style in American Politics.” Hofstadter was a Marxist in an era when Marxists infested American politics as Russian archives successfully proved years ago. Hofstadter was an avowed communist who associated with the anti-capitalist, anti-American “historian” Charles Beard whose hackneyed work tearing down America’s founders was so well debunked decades ago by Forrest McDonald. But whatever Hofstadter was he wasn’t an unbiased observer of American politics. He wrote from an extreme left-wing point of view and castigated conservative politics from that ideological vantage.

Are CCL Holders Dangerous? Columnist Thinks So

-By Warner Todd Huston

A blogger for the Roanoke Times wrote a recent blog post breathlessly informing his readers that contrary to “false claims” concealed carry permit holders have, indeed, been responsible for acts of murder and mayhem. Dan Casey presents the report issued by what he claims is the “nonpartisan” Violence Policy Center.

That report finds that seven policemen and forty-three civilians have been killed by concealed carry license holders. This is a horrible body count and no one can say otherwise.

Casey, for his part, is crowing about the “lies” of the “gun zealots” and seems quite pleased to find proof of this body count, however.

It’s gripping reading for anyone who cares about the truth. And it proves the falsity of gun zealots’ claim that nobody, nowhere, can ever point to an unjustified killing by a permit holder. It also undermines the notion that every CC permit holder is responsible and law-abiding.

So, let us review.

Labor Day: A Tribute To Highway Robbers

-By Thomas E. Brewton

Labor Unions are a throwback to the days of travel by horseback, when highwaymen fell upon lone travelers, beating them and robbing them of their possessions. Unions still have the ambivalent status of thugs, to their victims, and Robin Hoods, to their supporters.

Crafts labor unions evolved out of the medieval system of crafts guilds, which used an apprenticeship system to restrict the number of craftsmen in every skilled trade and thereby to set prices and limit competition. After the start of the industrial revolution in the early 1800s, the crafts guilds morphed into unions of skilled workers, such as carpenters, electrical workers, metal workers, etc.

Today’s industrial unions of unskilled workers such as the United Auto Workers, longshoremen, and steelworkers have a somewhat different provenance. Their inspiration was Karl Marx’s several Socialist Internationals, which in different incarnations were headquartered in Europe and in the United States. Marx envisioned cooperation among all workers – the employed and unemployed – in labor unions as the means to destroy what he called the despotism of capitalism. It is such unions that bankrupted the automobile and big steel producers in the United States and reduced the port of New York to secondary status. (See Labor Unions: Socialism’s Shock Troops)

Dem. Adviser Joe Trippi Admits Carter’s a ‘Failed Presidency’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Amusing note of the day: Well known Democratic advisor Joe Trippi called President Jimmy Carter’s a “failed presidency” on CNN yesterday.

Trippi bemoaned what those nasty ol’ Republicans are trying to do to his Obammessiah but admitted that Carter was a failure as president. This is something we have not seen before coming from such a prominent Democrat.

“This administration has the potential to be FDR or Jimmy Carter and I think the Republicans are going to do everything they can to make him Jimmy Carter, to create a failed presidency. That’s, unfortunately, what many of them want.”

You know Democrats are desperate when they finally admit that Carter was an utter, abject failure as president.

It is amusing to me that Trippi has made this admission. After decades of extremist liberals bald-facedly maintaining the lie that Jimmy Carter was a great president, they have now finally come to grips with the truth. Carter, the terrorist supporting, tyrant’s best friend was one of the nation’s worst presidents. But not only is he one of the worst, he was one of our most dangerous ones.

Only one failed president was more dangerous in office than Carter and that was James Buchanan, he who fiddled while the country began to burn in civil war. Carter’s mistakes are not quite as disastrous as Buchanan’s, of course. So, even as a failed president he fails to get the worst slot. He’s even a failure at being the worst.

Still, the fact that Democrats are finally beginning to admit this singular truth is amazing, indeed.

Jimmy Carter, failed president. Even Democrats are finally admitting the truth. It only took twenty-five years.

Do Viewers Know About “Knowing”?

-By Frederick Meekins

Viewers wanting to see “Knowing” staring Nicholas Cage might expect a film not all that different from his “National Treasure” series or even perhaps “The Da Vinci Code” as from advertisements the story appears to center around an aged parchment with a series of numbers scribbled across it that seemingly predicts a series of disasters. However, by the film’s conclusion, the apocalyptic symbolism alluded to is much more complex and potentially confusing than one might initially suspect.

After a series of catastrophes Cage’s astrophysicist character witnesses as a result of deciphering the cryptic document, one begins to get the impression that the transcendent presence guiding events is more of a tangible one rather than a force in the background. Hints of this are introduced when mysterious figures reminiscent of less than normal looking versions of Men In Black begin to stalk Cage’s son as well as the granddaughter of the character who wrote down the prophetic string of numbers in a flashback set fifty years in the past.

In most films one usually gets a distinct impression as to the forces overseeing mankind’s eschatological destiny. Usually they are traditionally supernatural or more in the vein of what moviegoers would consider extraterrestrial or interplanetary. Seldom do I remember a film where the distinctions were blurred or melded to such a degree as in “Knowing”.

Murder’s OK, But No Torture. We’re Liberals

-By Thomas E. Brewton

To understand the grotesque hypocrisy of liberal-progressives we must view it from the perspective of their religion of socialism.

Let’s immediately dispatch the moralistic protestations of liberal-progressives that any degree of rough interrogation of terrorists, even to save thousands of lives from planned attacks, is unconscionable. Liberal-progressives grow weak-kneed contemplating the confinement and interrogation of a few hundred terrorist thugs, while aggressively murdering millions of babies.

President Obama supports the slaughter without judicial due process of babies via abortion, which is reminiscent of the an earlier pagan worship of the god Molech, requiring the sacrifice of infants. At the same time, the President’s fellow liberal-progressives hold street demonstrations and candle-light vigils to protest execution of vile murderers and rapists and to protest incarceration of criminals. These are pagan rituals oozing from the gospel of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who believed that private property was the root of all evil and, in particular, the cause of crime and wars.

A Fitting Legacy for Teddy

-By John Armor

What would make a fitting legacy for Ted Kennedy in the Senate? I think it would be the election of a Senator to take his place, who committed to the same great public ideas that Senator Kennedy spoke about, so often and passionately.

Teddy often spoke of his dedication to and respect for the Constitution. This is to be expected where Sam Adams created the Sons of Liberty who threw the tea in Boston Harbor. And where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired at, and later fired by, the Minutemen at Concord and Lexington. So, the person who replaces Teddy should never vote to confirm as a judge, much less a Justice of the Supreme Court, anyone who has stated his or her intent to follow personal choices, rather than the Constitution itself, in deciding cases.

Again and again, decade after decade, Teddy bellowed his insistence for “new and fresh ideas” in the government. That’s an excellent idea. But new and fresh ideas do not usually come from tired old men. So, the person who replaces Teddy should support what John Adams called, “rotation in office.”

Absurdity: Media Re-Brand Obama as Kennedy-Like With Photo

-By Warner Todd Huston

Perhaps it is the Brit’s unseemly penchant to slobber over royals, but a recent photo of President Obama has elicited that ever-so-common, shop-worn, knee-jerk royalesque response in the media over there. (Yes, it’s a words-with-dashes sort of day)

The photo of the president at his Oval Office desk while daughter Sasha playfully spies on him from behind a couch has caused the Brit media to raise comparisons to the famous photo of J.F.K at his desk as little John, John plays under it.

At least three British news sources and one Australian outlet absurdly claimed that the Obama photo “invoked” the comparison to J.F.K. to which one can only say, stuff and nonsense. (The Telegraph, SkyNews, The Mail, and the Australian.)

There is no “invoking,” no provoking, no revoking, prevoking or postvoking. There’s no voking at all, but one does wonder what the Brits are toking.

Obama to Offer His Own Plan?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Marc Armbinder of The Atlantic is reporting that President Obama will be unveiling his own healthcare plan in the coming week as a way to kick start the debate back in his favor.

One of the easy digs against Obama until this time has been that he not only had nothing to do with the various plans floating around Congress (at least three bills thus far) and, worse, that he hasn’t seemed to really know what is in any of them.

Now Obama is about to offer his own plan. Some of it will be ideas already in play and others will be new.

He plans to list specific goals that any health insurance reform plan that arrives at his desk must achieve, according to Democratic strategists familiar with the plan. Some of these “goals” have already been agreed to, including new anti-discrimination restrictions on insurance companies. Others will be new, including the level of subsidies he expects to give the uninsured so they can buy into the system.

Obama will also specify a “pay for” mechanism he prefers, and will specify an income level below which he does not want to see taxed.

He will insist upon a mechanism to cut costs and increase competition among insurance companies — and perhaps will even specify a percentage rate — and he will say that his preferred mechanism remains a government-subsidized public health insurance option, but he will remain agnostic about whether the plan must include a robust public option. Officials won’t say whether the president intends to endorse a specific “trigger” mechanism if the competition mechanism fails, but they say he will make it clear that the final bill must contain language that increases competition.

But here are the real questions. So Obama has his own “new” plan to offer. So what? Does it have the force of law, has he found a few Congressmen or Senators to sign on, is it actual legislation of just his blather that has no force of law?

A Patriot’s Reply to a Pro-Government Takeover of Healthcare Supporter’s Video

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is a fantastic video. Some half-informed, leftist made a video in support of Obama’s socialist takeover of our healthcare system and a great patriot found it and then took the time to reply point for point against this fool’s anti-capitalist, un-American talking points.

The original video was made by Andy Lubershane and called “Why We Need Government-Run Universal Socialized Health Insurance.” But patriot and smart guy Lee Doren saw it too and he felt that the lies, misconceptions, and half-truths were so thick that he just had to respond.

I only wish that the Patriot’s voice was a bit more distinguishable from the left-wit’s voice. The two fellows have a similar timer to their voices which makes it a tad confusing at times. If you aren’t listening closely, there are times when you miss the fact that one guy stopped talking and the next started. But, that is a mere quibble. This video does a great job to show why the healthcare socialist is basically lying with every one of his talking points.

In any case, Mr. Doren does a great job showing that the rhetoric used by the leftist is misleading and full of false dichotomies and misdirection. This video should be passed around.

Chgo Trib’s Eric Zorn Doesn’t Mind That Teddy Got Away With Murder

-By Warner Todd Huston

If this isn’t the perfect example that liberals don’t care who has to die in order to make sure that left wing policies win the day, then nothing does. We can see this prime example in Eric Zorn’s horrid August 28 editorial where he thanks … well, whatever deity leftists believe in, if any… that the country didn’t quickly find out about the homicide of Mary Jo Kopechne that was committed by Teddy Kennedy in July of 1969.

Zorn is happy that the news of Teddy’s crime was quashed for hours as the poor woman slowly drowned while Teddy boy sat around a plush hotel drinking with pals. He’s happy because if the country had seen 24/7 coverage of the incident in 1969 it may have ruined Teddy’s career as a politician afterward. And if that had happened, you see, why the “lion of the Senate” wouldn’t have been able to push his anti-American, left-wing agenda for the ensuing four decades.

So, as far as Zorn is concerned, quashing the news of the homicide that Kennedy committed was a good thing. In Zorn’s opinion, allowing the woman to slowly drown wasn’t so bad after all. In Zorn’s opinion, the attempted cover-up of Mary Jo Kopechne’s death was unimportant. Yeah, the woman’s death was a small price to pay for 40 years of pushing a left-wing agenda.
