Barack Obama: The Soft on Tyranny President

-By Warner Todd Huston

In May of 2008 when Barack Obama was running for president he made a stop in Miami, Florida, a place well known for being a hotbed of anti-Castro, anti-communist sentiment. Miami is a place where many thousands of self-exiled Cubans settled after they fled a life of religious and political oppression and torture at the hands of Cuban communist dictator Fidel Castro. While in Miami candidate Obama made some strong and passionate statements about how if he were to be elected president his administration would not bow to Castro’s tyranny.

He excoriated Castro’s oppression and sympathized with the Cuban people pledging that as president he’d help bring freedom, liberty, and democracy to Cuba. At the height of his passion, Obama said, “I won’t stand for this injustice” and promised that, “together we will stand up for freedom in Cuba.”

Deny, Dismiss, Delegitimatize

-By Dan Scott

The response of the current leadership of this country is apparently to deny, dismiss or delegitimatize those who protested at the Tea Parties against rampant federal spending. Nancy Pelosi’s response – she called it Astroturf – the rich people were protesting, not the average person as in grass roots. If we take this comment at it’s face value, Pelosi believes those who were protesting were either rich themselves or were dupes of the rich. Let’s examine those options: If you participated in the Tea Party protest as I did, I am supposedly rich. If I’m considered rich and Pelosi wants to jack up the taxes on the rich, then all of you in the lower middle class are going to get a tax increase. The other choice is if I’m not considered rich, I’m a dupe of the rich. Are you, the average American, a stupid gullible imbecile who needs Nancy’s benevolent guidance? Is this arrogant elitist attitude toward people expressing their opinions coming from an elected representative of the People or a member of the elite ruling class? Her other comment – we handed out tax credits, in other words you been bribed with a $400 tax credit, you have nothing to say! See her response for yourself. Do you feel the love?

The White House says the president is unaware of the tea parties and
will hold his own event today,” ABC’s Dan Harris said on “Good Morning
America” on April 15.

Mr. Harris of Good Morning America essentially admitted President Obama does not have the pulse of the country, i.e. he is out of touch with reality! So either Obama is clueless to what is going on around him due to his very narrow insular view of the world as a liberal demagogue or Mr. Harris is making a childish unsubstantiated claim in a clownish attempt to dismiss the obvious (shades of Baghdad Bob). Which is it? President Obama has given more public comment to his new dog than regarding the people protesting his shared policies with Nancy Pelosi. Which is more important, his dog or concerned people? Apparently, the dog is more important than the consent of a significant portion of the country. For him to even deny the obvious speaks volumes as to his divisive policies. He is a Divider instead of the so-called new politics of being a Uniter he claimed he would be during his campaign, apparently his promise was empty rhetoric. Is he President of the United States or is a leader of only those who believe his ideology? We can see that he is not a Uniter since a leader of all the people compromises to achieve the greatest consensus. The leader who chooses consensus represents the interest of the majority versus a dictator who represents his own interest. The greatest consensus usually means those at the two extremes of any issue are dissatisfied. In fact, our Constitution is set up to force this idea of consensus but at the same time hold at bay the tyranny of the majority, Walter Williams did a nice piece on this. This essential means of leadership in a republic separates the President from a dictator; a dictator ignores the consensus and chooses his own way. You be the judge of Obama’s choices.

Unions Going After Wal-Mart Again

-By Warner Todd Huston

Most lefties claim that “no” means “no,” but not where it concerns unions that have lost the organizing argument over and over again. We can see that refusal to listen to the workers in the case of Unions vs. Wal-Mart. Repeatedly Wal-Mart workers have generally refused to unionize, yet instead of taking that as an answer, the unions continue to push. And they are at it again.

The United Food and Commercial Workers is stepping up its efforts to organize Wal-Mart workers yet again.

Avoiding Criticism: CNN Shuts Down Anti-Tea Party Reporter’s Email Address

-By Warner Todd Huston

So, we are all well aware of the so-called “reporter” from CNN, Susan Roesgen whose on-air haranguing of those she was ostensibly reporting on made obvious her anti-Republican bias. Well, for the past day Americans have been emailing her to let her know how they feel about her unprofessional attitude. Apparently, CNN does not appreciate hearing from its viewers, though, because all of a sudden anyone that sends an email to Roesgen’s CNN email address will have it returned as address unknown!

Conservative New Media reported on Roesgan’s outrageous “interviews” from the Chicago Tea Party later that evening and since the airing of her debating those she was supposed to be reporting on, folks have been jamming CNN’s email boxes with complaints.

It is pretty telling that on-air “reporter” Roesgen’s email address suddenly returns as address unknown, isn’t it? Why is CNN so afraid of hearing from its viewers?

My Coverage of the Chicago Tea Party

-By Warner Todd Huston

I attended the Chicago tea party protest yesterday and have produced some video highlights and a bunch of still photos of the event.

This is the one organized by Eric Odom of taxdayteaparty.com.

The weather was pretty good if not a tad windy. There were few protesters that stood against the patriots that attended. It was said that some ACORN members were there, but I did not see them.

The crowd was orderly but still righteously mad at the Obama administration. The state of Illinois came in for some particular vitriol, of course, as is well and proper.

The Chicago Police estimated that 5,000 attended and I think they were pretty close to the truth on that estimate. I have some experience with being in charge of groups that have numbered into the thousands and I estimated that at least 4,000 were there myself. So a count of 5,000 sounds about right.

Let’s hope this isn’t the last time patriots will be interested enough to come together to protest our out-of-control government.

Those Dangerous Tea Parties: Are YOU the Threat We’ve Been Waiting For?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Alright all you right-wing thugs out there, now that tax day is over, Obama and his pals are saying you are dangerous and that your tax protests are an act of revolution. It is amusing that they’ve never said that with the many riots past and present spread by left-wingers in the US — after all little “right-wing” violence has ever been seen here — but there you have it. It’s all YOU. Not the Animal Rights activists that constantly engage in assault, not the rock throwers of anti-WTO protests, not ACORN and union thugs, and not the Envro Nazis that have engaged in actual terrorism all across the country. YOU are the threat we’ve been waiting for.

But there is an indelicate question inherent in the whole subject of protests, left or right. Just when is actual violence justified? How much violence, what sort of violence, violence directed at who or what? The organization of protest is fraught with questions that are not comfortable to contemplate in polite society, questions that lay unasked just under the surface. Indeed, it should be realized that protests are not polite in the first place. They are all spurred by anger, whether righteously invoked or not, and anger is not a polite emotion.

The Left And ‘Teabagging’

-By Warner Todd Huston

On his tax day episode of Breakdown, Keith Olbermann indulged himself some fun making of the many hundreds of thousands of Americans that gathered together to protest the Obama administration’s abuse of our tax dollars. Like his compatriot of the extreme left and fellow MSNBC host, Rachel Maddow, the fun making centered not on the actual reason the protests were called but on the words “tea bag.”

Naturally, it isn’t just Maddow and Olbermann that are tittering over tea bags — after all, these two aren’t innovators, but parrots. Maddow and Olbermann are merely reflecting the foolishness of their string pullers on the left. The entire far left from the DailyKos to the profane folks at Wonkette or DemmocraticUnderground are falling all over themselves over the words “tea bag.”

So what is the deal? Why are these fools twittering and guffawing over the simple words “tea” and “bag”? You see, it’s all a reference to some immoral, immature and perverted sex act. I won’t bother to go into the perversion at which the left is laughing because, well, it is utterly meaningless as legitimate political discussion. But, the whole joke the left is sniggering at is a revealing episode to explain the difference between the anti-American left and the rest of America.

Total Collapse of Economy Will Result in Anarchy!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

People have responded to some of my articles on the economy (www.cstnews.com) and asked for my present opinion in light of the last few weeks. My opinion: It will be worse than I thought! Please note that a top Russian official has predicted that the U.S. will collapse and break into six separate states and there has been talk in recent months of some parts of the U.S. seceding from the Union! Moreover, television hosts and commentators are making prediction worse than mine! I no longer feel alone or like the boy who cried “wolf.” Since my early predictions of gloom and doom, everything is screaming support for those predictions.

The dollar is worth less and will soon be worthless! As in the case of Genesis 47:15 when “the money failed,” I believe that is where we will be in a few months. During those days in Egypt, the main concern was food. That is what I have been saying for years. Your concern will not be vacations, television, sports, hobbies, or even your job but “How do I feed my family today?”

Total Collapse of Economy Will Result in Anarchy!”

The Big Question

-By Dan Scott

This April 15th, millions of Americans will be protesting the rampant deficit spending of Congress (and the Obama Administration by encouraging it). Tea Parties will be held in every State of the Union. On that day, we who oppose reckless spending will have a cathartic moment having vented our spleens at the irresponsible behavior of those running government. We the People will have spoken, politicians will condescendingly notice, the MSM will spin the story line to minimize it and of course the Left is unhappy calling us sore losers and unpatriotic. But on April 16th will anything have changed?

When it comes to Congress acting as an agent of the People, the record is pretty spotty.
When a number of people in power attempted to give a blanket amnesty to illegal aliens, We the People hounded our representatives to the point the email servers crashed and the telephone switchboards couldn’t handle the traffic. The people in power got the message loud and clear, NO (almost a year before the 2008 election). When those in power attempted to pass the first bail out package, the People spoke and they narrowly defeated the bill (shortly before the 2008 election). Through bribery (sweeteners via minimal changes in the bill), stealth and fear, the leaders of the House and Senate convinced just enough members of Congress to pass the bailout bill over the objections of the overwhelming majority of the People. Again, just before the 2008 elections. Through clever deflection under the cover of the Presidential election, those who voted for the bailout package were never held to account for their vote. Since then, We the People have come to regret failing our chance to hold these people responsible. Congress passed a so-called stimulus bill over the objections of the most people via a party line vote. Congress has passed a number of other bills with little popular support. Many of us have thrown up our hands in disgust not knowing what to do and many will be protesting on April 15th.

The Two-Faced Brutality of Hope & Change

-By Frank Salvato

As the leaders of the G20 assembled in London to discuss the economic woes of the world, so too came the dregs of the Earth. Under the ruse of assembling as tolerant, engaged and caring members of society – activists concerned with war, the environment and the economic crisis – anti-war activists, eco-zealots, anti-Capitalists and anarchists descended on the city by the Thames causing havoc, damaging property and, in one specific instance, interfering with life-saving emergency treatment of one of their own. Interestingly, these are the same throngs of adoring “citizens of the world” that greeted Mr. Obama when he went on his campaign swing through Europe; the same assemblage of inhumanity that then candidate Barack Obama embraced as the “future.”

Across the pond, leaders of ACORN were defending themselves against charges of corruption leveled against them in House Judiciary Committee testimony from a whistleblower, Anita Moncrief – a registered Democrat and former employee of ACORN. Ms. Moncrief accused ACORN and Project Vote of colluding with the Obama campaign to coordinate fundraising and get-out-the-vote efforts. While ACORN has attempted to paint the whistleblower as a disgruntled ex-employee, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) was so taken with Ms. Moncrief’s testimony that he called for a full congressional investigation into the charges. Additionally, it is now being reported that the New York Times spiked a pre-election story on this very issue because its editorial board called the revelation “a game changer,” with regard to Mr. Obama’s chances of attaining the presidency. It can be successfully argued that both ACORN and The New York Times were staunchly in Mr. Obama’s corner during the 2008 election.

Skype’s Anti-competitive Uneconomics

-By Scott Cleland

There are two primary problems with eBay-Skype’s attempt to get the Government to force competitive wireless providers to carry Skype’s free communications app under the guise of wireless net neutrality and Internet openness: first, it is wildly uneconomic, and second, it is anti-competitive.

The issue has surfaced in the news (USAToday, WSJ) as Apple enabled a Skype app on the iPhone for use on free public WiFi networks, but not on the iphone’s commercial network provided by AT&T; and again when Google’s Android banned a tethering app because it violated T-Mobile’s terms of service as reported by CNET.

Union Thugs Admit Workers Hate Them, Only Government Force Expands Unions

-By Warner Todd Huston

Herold Meyerson of the Washington Post is a not a very good columnist. But he is a great ad copy writer that should be working on Madison Avenue. Oh, I won’t say that all ad copy is filled with lies, but if lies sell then Meyerson would be the best of them all. Anyone that reads his April 7 pro-union column can only come away marveling at the malarkey this guy is peddling to sell the union cause.

Meyerson begins by lamenting the troubles that unions have seen over the last few decades. Union membership has dropped to all time lows in this country and Meyerson is all about the wearing of sackcloth and the gnashing of teeth over it. But he sees hope in a recent effort to gather several union chiefs together in a sort of cooperative effort to flog unions on Capitol Hill, a sort of uber lobbying organization that will be charged with strong-arming Congress to accede to union demands.

But one thing he doesn’t get is that Americans just don’t like unions. They have bad reputations as economy wreckers, thugs, and thieves. It’s obvious that this is the case because, after all, union membership has fallen through the floor.

We’re Nearly All Obozos On This Bus

Although I didn’t vote for him, and, if you are reading this, there’s a good chance that you didn’t vote for him either, Barack Hussein Obama is our President for better or for worse, for good or for ill or until after four years do us part. Until then, it’s Suffer Time; break it down!

The mind reels. Obama, and by extension, his Cabinet and political appointees, is just one unmitigated disaster after another. From instituting socialist engineering, appointing tax cheats to high positions, to the thuggish take-over of our auto industry, Barack Obama and his socialist henchmen, are running amok in this country merrily ripping, tearing and shredding our Constitution as they go along.

ACORN/NY Times/Obama Campaign Story: Some Details Not as Reported

-By Warner Todd Huston

My exclusive interview with ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief

On April 4 I wrote about the testimony of Heather Heidelbaugh who appeared before Congress to speak about the various shady, if not criminal, actions perpetrated by ACORN (the Association of Community Activists for Reform Now) and its Project Vote offshoot over the last few years — and especially during the late campaign for the White House. There was vote fraud and financial misdealings galore and it was all perpetrated by a group intimately tied to presidential candidate Barack Obama. Not only that, but it seemed the Old Media was trying to cover it up.

That testimony has been the talk of the country since the end of March. But, as the story has progressed, some of the details that have been accepted as fact have turned out not to be true. It’s high time some of these misconceptions be cleared up.

There are fallacies about this case both big and small knocking about the pundocracy. TV pundit Bill O’Reilly, for instance, recently wrote an Op Ed with the misinformation that ACORN whistleblower Anita Moncreif had testified before Congress. MonCrief, however, did not testify before Congress (her information had merely been read into the record by Heidelbaugh).

Do We Restrict Peanuts Because 100 People a Year Die from Allergy?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Here is the nanny state at its most ridiculous. Healthies — people that obsess about health — are on the march in Madison, Wisconsin trying to get the state government to ban people from feeding peanuts to squirrels on the state Capitol grounds. It’s a state emergency, ya know? Why these casually discarded peanuts could just maybe affect a child that has an allergy. We MUST ban the evil peanut to SAVE THE CHILDREN!

One would think that people are dropping dead every 5 seconds from peanut allergies with all this energy and focus directed against that monstrous Mr. Peanut. You would think that this important health effort would save uncounted lives, wouldn’t you?

Maybe not.

NYT Columnist: ‘Dark and Dangerous’ Conservatives Attack Obama (Did He Miss BDS for Last 8 Yrs?)

-By Warner Todd Huston

Sometimes you just have to laugh at the Pauline Kael-like left. It seems that leftists in America are either mentally stunted or living in such an enclosed, bubble-world that they cannot discern reality from their own fantasy. Such is the case with the faux shock expressed by one Chuck Blow (presumably his real name) from The New York Times whose latest article is filled with the horror that some on the American right might not wish much success for a president of the United States. One must laugh at this man’s alarm and wonder if he missed the last eight years where Bush, Cheney — and at the end, even today, Palin — were hung in effigy, where the past president was wished a long and torturous death, and where the left wanted untold horrors visited upon them and all Americans that support Republicans?

Charles’ sudden awakening to the passion that politics brings is amusing if only to the extent that it is so empty of any introspection. It is hilarious that Chuck only just now had his eyes opened to enflamed political rhetoric and talk of the grave concerns for this country by many millions of his fellow Americans. Sad, in the end, that this guy thinks such vitriol has only just now come from the American right as if born fully grown and never-before-seen.

Chuck must surely have been in a coma since the year 1999.

NYTimes: Obama’s Economic Ideas Great… Just Like Hitler’s Were?

-By Warner Todd Huston

For The New York Times economic scene section for March 31, David Leonhardt came across with one of the most amazing admissions about Obama that I’ve ever seen in the Times. Namely that Barack Obama is just like Hitler. Now, many of you may be solemnly shaking your head in agreement, but in so doing you would be missing why the Times was comparing Obama to Hitler. You see, Leonhardt didn’t mean it as an insult. He was saying that it was a good thing that Barack was being like Hitler at least in an economic sense.

Here Leonhardt is taking the trains-on-time track with his Hitler angle by saying that, despite that whole Holocaust and World War II business, Hitler’s policies were good for Germany. So good, in fact, that he celebrates the ways he sees that Obama is emulating the mustachioed mad-man’s economic prescriptions with the massive takeover of the economy and bloated government spending on “stimulus.”

You know the left has lost it when they are invoking the “success” of Hitler to prop up The One!

Building upon a Strong Broadband Foundation — Part I in America’s Broadband Strengths Series

-By Scott Cleland

The combination of the severe recession and Congress’ requirement for the FCC to devise a National Broadband Strategy provides an excellent opportunity to inventory not only weaknesses, but also the many strengths, of the broadband sector and economy. Comprehensive analysis shows much that is going well that mustn’t be taken for granted in any new broadband plans. Unlike many other sectors of the economy, the American broadband sector is:

  • An exceptionally strong foundation to build upon;
  • On the right track with much positive momentum; and
  • Partnering to solve many of society’s most pressing problems.

I. Strong Foundation to Build Upon

America’s competitive broadband market has an exceptionally strong foundation of positives on which to build upon, enhance, expand and supplement.

Is Hillary Clinton the Rodney Dangerfield of the Obama Administration?

-By Ann “Babe” Huggett

Comedian and vaguely funny guy, Rodney Dangerfield, may be fast fading from our collective cultural memory but his tag line of, “I get no respect!” should be engraved over Hillary Clinton’s office door in the State Department. Expecting to be the power behind the Obama throne, Hillary gamely accepted her position of Secretary of State thinking that her former aides now infesting the current administration and the covertly leftist State Department would rally round her and not their new darling, Barack Obama.

Well, surprise, surprise! Hillary not only calculated wrongly but is constantly humiliated by savage, Chicago machine political egos even more petty and calculating than hers. From sending her out of the country on useless junkets to Upper Revolta and Cheapistan to watching her screw up royally through symbolic language gaffes with the Russians or displaying cultural ignorance in Mexico while viewing the iconic Virgin of Guadalupe painting, the ship of State, U.S.S. Clinton is sinking fast.

AP Scolds Republicans for ‘Noncompliance’ Over Stimulus $… But is There Any?

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Associated Press did a masterful job of portraying Republican Governors as perpetrating “noncompliance” for how they want to spend Obama’s education stimulus money. But, even as the AP spends the top half of a story wagging fingers at those nasty Republicans for not spending Obama’s generous gift the right way, buried in the story it is revealed that the fault is really with how the stimulus bill was written, not in how GOP governors wish to spend it. Ah, but it’s much better to make Republicans look like bad guys than it is to blame Democrat Congressmen for writing a bad bill, isn’t it?

Even worse, the point AP is trying to promulgate is that these evil governors are hurting “the children” by not spending on education the way Obama says they should. Yes, the AP and the Obama administration are again hiding massive increases in federal control behind help for “the children.” It’s agenda journalism at its finest… or worst, depending on your point of view.

Who the Heck Elected YOU?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Who the Heck Elected YOU, anyway? Whether it be among friends or family, we’ve all heard that phrase tossed about by someone who found his pet idea left by the wayside. It’s a question of “official” authority, in most cases. Say your friends get together for a movie, say you make a film choice and everyone begins to agree. But there’s always that one guy that doesn’t agree with your movie choice. He wants to go somewhere else and when he finds no one siding with him he asks in frustration who elected you to make the decision? After all, there was no election so why did you get to make the movie choice over his druthers? It’s easy to laugh off that frustration in most cases and settle for a community decision among friends. But it is another thing when that concept is applied to decisions made by government placemen and appointees. And it’s even worse when our tax money is spent by the billions because of the requirements imposed by government workers unions that the polity did not elect to have the power to spend our money.

And we are seeing this illicit decision making by unelected union bosses grow at exponential rates these days. Take for instance the trouble that Governor John Corzine of New Jersey is having. His state budget is wildly over allocated and he’s decided to lay off some government workers to save precious cash, cash, it should be remembered, that IS the people’s tax money. This is a move that every business is confronted with at some time or another. When times are flush and a lot of work is in the offing, business hires. But when times get tight and the need for workers flails, unnecessary employees are let go. It’s a fact of life that cannot be avoided. Oh, but not government! Once you get a government job it is, for some unexplainable reason, assumed to be a permanent job.

Did the U.S. Turn Socialist Just Because Obama Won?

-By Warner Todd Huston

TNR’s Chait gets it wrong thinking Americans are all nouveau left-wingers just because Barack Obama won the White House

Jonathan Chait is all upset at the Democratic Party. Hs is damning their eyes for not blindly accepting every extremist, left-wing idea that President Obama would like to implement. Chait is wailing that Congressional Democrats are standing athwart Obama’s radical agenda just when he assumes we are at a “once-in-a-generation chance for the Democratic Party to reshape” the country.

Chait is right, of course, that Congressional Democrats are not bending over blindly for Obama’s agenda and many elected officials are jealously guarding their privilege is true enough. He is also right that Obama has faced some obstacles within his own party — and it is probably coming as a surprise to the president, too. But he is wrong to assume they are doing it for spite, mere power or necessarily for personal aggrandizement. In fact, Chait has a major misunderstanding of the very country that Democrats represent. You see, Chait thinks that just because Obama won a 7 percent majority of the vote the whole country is ready to become a radicalized, socialist, anti-religious, and virulently anti-capitalist nation. Chait makes the major mistake in thinking “the people” of the United States of America are just like him.

The Train Wreck

-By Dan Scott

A number of people recently have been commenting on how the economy seems to be showing signs of recovery, all without a single penny of the so called stimulus bill having been spent. The stock market has been moving up of late giving investors a sense of hope that the bottom has been reached signaling an end to their financial losses. Hope is good but false hope is dangerous as it causes people to lower their defenses against the oncoming train wreck. Counting on an economic recovery is occurring due to a bear market rally, is false hope. The psychology of the bear rally is based on false hope.

Have you noticed the price of gas lately? Its been creeping back up and now is up to $2/gallon. It’s not due to domestic demand but the world price of oil. Because of the misconduct of the RULING POR (Pelosi, Obama, Reid) Party causing over a trillion dollars to be printed, the dollar is devaluing and the price of oil is going up as a result. If the price of oil continues to rise we will soon reach the tipping point where the economy will stall again. That tipping point is somewhere around $2.50/gallon based on what happened in January 2007 when unemployment started it’s steady climb. The economy then took a nosedive as the price of gasoline hit $4/gallon. Of course President Obama continues to talk in non-sequiturs claiming in order for the economy to recover he must impose a carbon tax to create “green jobs”. He plainly admitted such a tax scheme would cause the price of energy (electricity) to “skyrocket”, his term not mine. While he was specifically speaking of coal in regards to electricity, such a tax would also hit petroleum products like gasoline almost as hard.

Florida Gov’t Cancels Tea Party Fearing ‘Too Many Attendees’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Remember this report from our nation’s history?

CNN (Continental News Network) Boston, 1773: The city of Boston canceled a proposed protest over tea taxes today, citing the fear that too many people dressed as Indians would be gathered near the wharves. Organizers expressed sadness over the cancellation, but meekly returned to their homes fearful of upsetting the officers of the Crown. Taxmen breathed a sigh of relief as the tar and feathers were put away not to be used this day.

You don’t remember that pre-revolutionary history? I should say you shouldn’t, because it didn’t happen. But flash forward a few hundred years and you’ll find it is happening today in Cape Coral, Florida where city officials canceled a tax day tea party gathering because they “feel too many people could show-up.”

It’s Time for a Greed Czar

-By Selwyn Duke

With the recent passage of the “TARP bonus” bill, it’s obvious that our politicians are finally serious about tackling the problem of greed. It’s about time, too. We’ve long had “hate crime” laws, so one had to wonder when the next deadly sin would make it on the legislative agenda.

This bill targets people at certain companies – most visibly the much-maligned AIG – taxing any bonus pay pushing one’s income over the $250,000 threshold to the tune of 90 percent. Yet the popular conception of the legislation sells our enlightened overlords short, as their vision entails far more than bringing a handful of rapacious Gordon Geckos to heel. Transparency, Czars, and Experts Are Obama’s Smoke and Mirrors

A few days ago, Politico reported that Obama’s vaunted Economic Recovery Advisory Board supposedly headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker has not even met yet, six weeks after its storied birth at the president’s behest, months after Obama began to shrilly say that we are in the “emergency” of an economic crisis.

Worse, it was revealed that some of the members of this “board” have met, but in smaller groups and in private making the lie to Obama’s self-reverential, and now prosaic claim of the importance he was to place on government transparency.
