Ed Frank created an interesting little video that serves as a stark reminder of how harsh the Old Media was on Bush’s “faltering” economy in comparison to today’s hearts and flowers style of reporting during the age of Obama, even though the stats are far, far worse under Obama than they ever were under Bush.
Frank’s video is shocking for its revelation of how Bush was slapped around and how every economic indicator during his tenure in the White House was deemed as obvious proof of the supposed though times we then faced. Yet now, every dismal indicator is celebrated as if recovery just around the corner. Under Bush the Old Media was sure the economy was a wreck, now the wreck proves we will surely be saved by Summer!
Comparison: Economic Reporting Under Bush, and Under Obama”
Vice President gaff-o-matic strikes again.
You want a blatant example of the Old Media’s over-the-top, gobsmacked love affair with Obama? Well, one would be hard pressed not to see Time Magazine’s
There is happy-talk and then there is delusion. The Associated Press has just approached the delusional stage with its
Apparently most of us were ill served by our high school education. But, don’t worry, our children will have that fixed for them. You see, we oldsters were thoroughly misinformed into thinking that there was only two genders in the human animal: male and female. But now, through the wonders of the modern, radical re-education racket, comes the new-new way of seeing “
It was June 6, 1944 that the crucial Normandy Landings occurred that formed the spearhead of the Allied invasion of Nazi held Europe.
It’s been a little while since we had a good “Name that Party” story, but leave it to corruption plagued Democrats and their willing accomplices in the Old Media to always find some time in their busy schedules to give us an opportunity to play our favorite game. This time it is a former Speaker of the House in Massachusetts who, along with a cadre of his pals, was indicted on corruption charges. Naturally, the party affiliation is mysteriously absent from many of the stories.
Considering the fast and awful demise and decay into socialism of the late, great United States, sometimes you just freeze up from the overwhelming choices on what to write. A quick glance at late breaking news on the web is usually enough to get me going but today The Drudge Report had a very odd juxtaposition of pictures which gave me real pause. The first illustration, which is linked with an article titled, The Emergence of Obama’s Muslim Roots”, has an unidentified man holding a glitzy, Las Vegas version of an Egyptian cartouche bearing King Tut’s funerary mask with the words, “OBAMA New Tutankhamon of the World”. The second picture showed NBC TV anchor, Brian Williams, doing a formal court bow to President Obama at the end of an NBC show airing this week. The corresponding comment on Drudge is, “NBC News Anchor Bows Before President?” and you can watch Williams sorry, sycophantic grovel on the YouTube link provided.
Now we hear that Obama is being given the “royal treatment” during his state visit to Saudi Arabia by King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, who unloaded a bit of Mr. T starter bling on Obama by presenting him with a massively heavy gold chain complete with sunburst medallion. A troubling pattern is beginning to emerge and it is one that Americans supposedly turned their backs on in 1776. I have often theorized that our socialist elites wake up each and every morning bitterly and egomaniacally furious that they are not actual royalty. Well, what if they just carved up the whole world into oligarchic satraps, eventually assuming all the royal prerogatives but with the actual titles tantalizingly always out-of-reach?
Well, I am just as shocked as Simon Dumenco over at
After spending three years running away from his past, Barack Hussein Obama is now nominally a Muslim again. At least that is the message that ABC’s Jake Tapper has discovered in the new, new way in which the Obama administration is presenting the president’s connections to Islam and his religious upbringing and heritage. Suddenly it’s A’OK to say that Obama has “experienced Islam” and remark about his “Muslim father” again. Rah, rah for Islam.
It is interesting, instructive, and a little disheartening to notice that the foreign press is much more shocked than the U.S. press is by the arrogance and expense of the Obama’s “date night” that cost the taxpayers nearly one million dollars last week. The Australian and British press, for instance, scoffed at the absurd cost of the one night visit to New York that Obama “sacrificed” for but the U.S. press didn’t seem to mind the waste of the taxpayers money nearly as much.
Nuclear power is the most environmentally friendly power of all, low on emissions, does not require destructive mining or drilling efforts to feed it, and is also one that creates a lot of jobs both in initial construction as well as to sustain its ongoing operation. Nuclear power is also a mainstay power source for such countries as France. It’s clean, safe, and extremely desirable. Its only drawback is what to do with its waste.
In another nearly orgasmic tribute to The One, in its Arts section The New York Times published a May 30 story buoyantly jubilant over the fact that Obama’s face “
Rob Thomas, singer/songwriter and front man for the band Matchbox 20, has successfully proven an old adage: Don’t Keep quiet and let people think you’re a fool. Open your mouth and remove all doubt. He has also shown us all that the American system of education is in pretty sorry shape. But, one thing is sure, Mr. Thomas “feels good” about himself, so he’s got that whole self esteem thing down nicely. Sadly, he lacks some basis for the conceit.
This little report is interesting in a few ways, but the most important is that it seems to show that the publishers of at least one American newspaper are wholly ignorant of American history. It seems that early last week the Warren Times Observer of Warren, Pennsylvania published an ad that basically expressed a desire to
Margery Eagan of the Boston Herald has done it again. She’s unleashed her deathless prose filled with soaring rhetoric and high concepts all revealing her infinite sagacity. OK, that was just sarcasm. In truth, Eagan has given us another example of the sort of low-end, guttural, sputterings that we have become so used to seeing drip like sour milk from her pen. Her latest Boston Herald piece is a prime example of the unprofessionalism that pervades her work.
Francis Wilkinson, executive editor of The Week news magazine, seems to think that The New York Times is a model of restraint with a centrist editorial policy and that conservatives should be afraid of the day when the Old Gray Lady publishes its last sheet. My guess: if your eyebrow could be raised any higher at this claim, it’d become a toupee.
