Almost every gun critic uses specious arguments to support the unsupportable. They are defending a castle in ruins. However, they keep trying by using the Bible and Christ to prop up their fallacious argument: only police and the military should possess guns.

The argument is not whether or not Jesus carried a weapon. After all, He was God. Why would He need a weapon? However, the question is should Christians have guns and use them when necessary? I have been accused of taking the position that guns are “godly” but I never took that position. My critics often opine that “Guns are evil.” Guns are inanimate objects, neither good nor evil, but they can be used for good or evil. Likewise, humans can use drugs, automobiles, knives, clubs, etc., in an evil and harmful way or in a good way.

Wimpy liberals lose total control of their thinking process when it comes to guns. It is better to have a gun and not need it than need one and not have one. Many wimps would stand by and permit intruders to harm, rape, even kill their family! I took a vow to protect my wife so that means anyone in our home late at night will be presumed a thief, rapist, and killer. He will be shot graveyard dead. The following day, I will contact the governor of Georgia and ask him when he wants me to come to Atlanta for an awards ceremony. I assume he will give me the key to the city of Atlanta and maybe designate the day, “Don Boys’ Day” in honor of me removing scum from our state and making innocent people more secure.

Ill. GOP Minority Leader in Bed With Criminal ACORN?

Shockingly, it looks like Tom Cross (R- Oswego), the Republican Minority leader at the State Capitol in Springfield, has taken several large campaign donations from the criminal organization ACORN. Even worse, it looks like Cross indulged a quid pro quo to help the troubled community organization out on some of their favored legislative efforts.

Over at ChampionNews.net, Doug Ibendahl has uncovered some uncomfortable information about our Republican minority leader’s campaign coffers. Ibendahl has found that Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 880 donated $17,750 to Cross in 2003 and another $10,000 from SEIU Healthcare Illinois/Indiana PAC.

The SEIU is a public employees union that is closely linked with the troubled ACORN organization and SEIU Local 880 is close to ACORN, indeed. In fact, on the Local’s webpage you can see an email address it lists for contact info that settles the question. That email happens to be seiu880@acorn.org.

A Million People Prove NPR Doesn’t Count

How many people still listen to NPR (National “People’s” Radio) and take it seriously? Apparently that list doesn’t include the editors and reporters for NPR. Two cases in point, both having to do with numbers.

As I was driving up to D.C. for the Rally on the Mall on Saturday, I heard NPR gushing over (excuse me, reporting on) the President Obama’s speech to a Joint Meeting of Congress. In that speech, the President said that “there are 30 million uninsured Americans.” Notice that the number dropped from 45 million because that part of the uninsured are not Americans. They are mostly citizens of Mexico.

The polling of the American people on health care reform has made it crystal clear they do not want American tax dollars paying premiums for foreign citizens. Remember that Cong. Joe Wilson called out, “You lie,” when President Obama was claiming that health care “reform” did not include the illegal aliens. Joe should certainly apologize for interrupting the President, with a true statement.

Brit Hasn’t a Clue About U.S. Politics

Many elitist American leftists like to go about claiming that it is only Americans that are dunces on foreign matters. There is some truth to the accusation that Americans are not knowledgeable about the rest of the world but if a column in the UK Telegraph is any indication it isn’t much better for Britain’s understanding of American politics. Worse, it is plain that even a British journalist hasn’t a clue what he’s on about when attempting to discuss the differences between a Democrat and Republican in today’s climate.

At issue is the incredibly garbled take on American Democrats and Republicans as posted by U.K. Telegraph writer David Lindsay, who claims himself to be a “freelance writer and tutor at Durham University.” One wonders why he doesn’t get a real job.

In “Why real American conservatives should register as Democrats,” Lindsay’s main point seems to be that Republicans really support what the Democratic Party supports and so GOP voters should resign from their party and join the left side of the aisle. But Lindsay’s reasons prove that he doesn’t know a thing about what he’s talking about.

Paper Editor: Conservative Writers Resort to ‘Cheap Personal Attacks on Obama’

I guess we know what the editor of the Montana Standard of southwestern Montana thinks about conservative members of the media; he doesn’t think much of them.

In the Standard’s announcement of the addition of columnist Byron York for a-once a-week column, Editor Gerry O’Brien was excited to tell his readers about their newest conservative columnist with some lovely praise of York’s style. York, O’Brien says, is wonderful because he doesn’t resort to “cheap personal attacks on President Obama” like all those other conservative columnists.

York, a staunch conservative, presents his arguments in a thoughtful, measured fashion, rather than resorting to cheap personal attacks on President Obama and others in the Democratic Party that seem to be the hallmark of the GOP these days, said Standard Editor Gerry O’Brien.

Well, there you have it. I guess we should be glad that Byron isn’t like his conservative brethren, eh?

It is also interesting to note that Editor O’Brien doesn’t seem all too concerned that folks can so easily come to understand that he is a partisan sort of fellow himself. So much for a newspaper that is non-partisan and only interested in the news.

Charlie Rangel: Obamacare Doesn’t Spend Enough Money

Not enough money is being thrown around to “fix” things; that’s always the liberal’s lament. Representative Charlie Rangel (D, NY) doesn’t disappoint by shying from this big government, money wasting attitude where it concerns Obamacare, either.

Obama has announced his determination not to sign a bill that adds “one dime” to the deficit and he’s also said that “his” bill will feature a low, low $900 billion price tag. Both of these Obama points seem to be vexing Rep. Rangel because, well, it’s just not enough.

Rangel complained to reporters about Obama’s “restrictions” and said that the president’s policy druthers would reduce coverage for “poor and working people.” He complained that it would be “very difficult” to achieve Obama’s prescriptions and said that Obama’s cost estimate was $100 billion too low.

So, Rangel wants more money thrown at it. In a time when our economy is struggling, Rangel wants to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at Obamacare.

Poizner Signs Anti-Tax Pledge Despite History of Supporting Tax Hikes

SoCal radio wags John and Ken got California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner to sign a no tax pledge this week. This is momentous news, indeed, since Poizner, the current State Insurance Commissioner and putative GOP frontrunner, has a long, long history of supporting massive property tax hikes that he has yet to directly disavow.

Radio talkers John and Ken witnessed Poizner’s signing of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge during their Los Angeles based show this week. (See photos here.)

As he signed the pledge, Poizner told the radio talkers, “Not only will I not raise taxes, not only will I veto every attempt to raise taxes, I will lower taxes for the people of the state of California. You can count on that.”

Poizner joins 34 U.S. Senators and 172 members of the House of Representatives as well as 7 state governors and over 1,100 state legislators in signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. The pledge commits signers to, “oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes.”

Political Science 101: Power Breeds Corruption

Chicago is known as “The Windy City” not because it is windy (although anyone who tries to use an umbrella during a heavy rain in the Loop knows how difficult that can prove) but because of the blowhard politicians it has produced throughout the centuries. Chicago’s scandalous history of political corruption began in the l9th century around the time of the Chicago Fire continuing through today, most notably, Governor Blagojevich’s attempt to “sell” President Obama’s Senate seat. Political malfeasance doesn’t begin and end in Illinois, though. Other states have equal or worse reputations.

The Wall Street Journal, in an article titled, A Swamp of Corruption, noted that “Louisiana ranks third in the nation in the number of elected officials per capita convicted of crimes (Mississippi takes top prize).” Paging through the list of politicians on the take is like reading a who’s who in the society pages. Most recently, former Democratic Louisiana congressman, Rep. William Jefferson, was convicted by a federal jury, “of taking bribes on 11 of 16 counts in a case in which agents found $90,000 in his freezer.” Corruption is not unique to what is referred to the modern era in our history.

So, if YOU believe in the greatest governing document ever conceived by the mind of man, go on over and sig the petition. Then post about it on your blogs and message boards. Put it on your FaceBook, Twitter or MySpace pages.

September 17, 1787, the delegates to the United States Constitutional Convention gathered for the last time in Philadelphia to put their names at the bottom of a very important document: the Constitution of the United States. After long months filled with some of the most important discussions on the role of government in world history, the document which survives, to this day, as a monument to freedom was born. A year later, on September 13, 1788, the same group of delegates would vote to put the Constitution in operation, and the United States of America, as we know it, was born. Over the two centuries since the Philadelphia delegates signed off on it, the Constitution has undergone several changes, notably the addition of the Bill of Rights and the 27 Amendments, which guarantee the basic freedoms all Americans have come to cherish, and which cannot be taken away.

The Founding Fathers, in creating the Constitution, charged Americans with a very important task: to ensure that their values — those of individual liberty and limited government — apparent in the Constitution, be preserved for all generations of Americans. Over the years, these values of liberty and democracy have begun to fray and our Constitution has been neglected.

So what can you do?

Well, for starters, you can pledge your support for the Constitution by going to IBelieveintheConstitution.com, and signing the petition in support of our founding document as it was written and as the Founders intended. You can also re-educate yourself and your family on the Constitution, its history, and its legacy by visiting any of these sites: the U. S. Kirk Suddenly a “No” on Cap and Tax?

Rep. Mark Kirk (R, IL) has been getting hammered by conservatives and moderate Republicans alike for his “yes” vote on the Cap and Trade bill. But at a recent appearance Kirk suddenly said he now intends to vote against the disastrous bill.

The Obama administration admits that the Cap and Trade legislation will cost every American family and additional $1,761 a year and likely that is on the low side. Conservatives have slammed Kirk for supporting this economy killing carbon emissions capping legislation.

On the 5th at a suburban rally, Kirk announced his switcheroo amidst many loud boos and catcalls. “About cap and trade: I voted for it because it was in the narrow interests of my congressional district. But as your representative, representing the entire state of Illinois, I will vote ‘No’ on that bill coming up.”

Well, this sure seems like an opportunistic flip flop, doesn’t it? Now that he’s running for Senate he’s found that his cap and tax “yes” vote is proving to be an impediment to his campaign and suddenly he finds his principles again?

I guess Kirk should be congratulated for finally coming to his senses and actually representing his constituents’ desires, but the fact that he thought he could make a dash for the cash (he voted cap and tax because of donations by enviro-nazi groups) without bothering with principle or representing his constituents in the first place marks him as an opportunist of the worst sort.

There has been a huge surge in the influence of the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News. Beck has become one of the airwaves’ premiere conservatives.


Be gratified that there lives such a patriot among us. There is no doubt about it: Mr. Beck handed America a victory when he almost single-handedly forced a radical communist to resign from the Obama administration.

Beck’s nightly program on Fox is to be highly commended. Both Beck and his investigative staff keep “We The People” informed about those with whom President Barack Obama has surrounded himself. Beck has told his audience to judge Obama by the people the president relies on because they share his Marxist ideology — and boy, was he right on this one!

Illinois 5th District Candidate David Ratowitz Announces

A first time Republican candidate has announced for the Illinois 5th District seat. David Ratowitz is a lawyer and businessman originally from Hazel Crest. Ratowitz was a ROTC member and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Captain of Field Artillery in 1997.

Ratowitz was a resident of New Orleans during the trials of Hurricane Katrina and after his business and home were wiped out by that event built a successful construction company.

In 2007 he relocated back to the Chicago land area and started a law firm in Chicago.

David has been politically active in the Chicago area for a number of years, advancing the principles of limited government and individual liberty at every opportunity. He is a member and serves on committees of the Chicago GOP, Chicago Young Republicans and the Republican Jewish Coalition. Dang it. Here I thought we had a new hero on the conservative side. Representative Joe Wilson (R- SC) yelled out “you lie” when the president DID lie during his healthcare speech Wednesday night. Now news has it that Wilson has called the White House to apologize.

Just when I thought we had a Republican with a spine, he whimps out on us.

Obama insisted that “his” plan (which is not his plan at all) would not cover illegal aliens with free healthcare coverage. The problem with Obama’s insistence that illegals aren’t covered the truth is they are. Many sources have proven that Obamacare does, indeed, cover illegals.

So, when Obama said it didn’t during his address to the joint session, Wilson passionately called out that Obama was a liar.

Wilson was right. Obama was lying.

Too bad Wilson lost his spine after this initial good showing.

Biver Says Hughes Over Kirk for U.S. Senate

John Biver seems to have come out endorsing GOP Senate candidate Patrick Hughes over Mark Kirk today. Biver is the editor of ChampionNews.net, a conservative organization out of Cook County. (Hughes’ campaign website.)

Biver says that Hughes is “the best chance conservatives have in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate,” and that he came away impressed after meeting the candidate in person.

He’s a platform-supporting Republican, and just as important, he gives every indication that he understands what ails the Illinois and Washington, D.C. Republican political system. His chief opponent, Mark Kirk, exemplifies everything that’s wrong with our Party here in Illinois and in our nation’s capital.

Biver warns that as we approach the peak campaigning days, the several candidates had better take some time to assess their chances and decide what is best for the party as opposed to what strokes their egos.

SFChron: Palin’s ‘Paranoid Politics’

Once again the extreme left goes into a conservative-bashing theory without the slightest knowledge of human nature not to mention owning even a tiny bit of introspection. This time it is one Geoffery Dunn of the San Francisco Chronicle who told his readers that Palin exemplifies America’s ages-old “paranoid-style politics.”

The piece is interesting for the fact that it is apparent that as the left-wing Dunn talks about “American paranoid-style politics” he offers examples from only the conservative side of the aisle. Apparently Mr. Dunn imagines “paranoia” only resides on the right in that “American” politics of which he assumes to be an expert.

Dunn amusingly praises the long-ago work of leftist professor Richard Hofstadter, whose fame came from his 1964 book “The Paranoid Style in American Politics.” Hofstadter was a Marxist in an era when Marxists infested American politics as Russian archives successfully proved years ago. Hofstadter was an avowed communist who associated with the anti-capitalist, anti-American “historian” Charles Beard whose hackneyed work tearing down America’s founders was so well debunked decades ago by Forrest McDonald. But whatever Hofstadter was he wasn’t an unbiased observer of American politics. He wrote from an extreme left-wing point of view and castigated conservative politics from that ideological vantage.

Responsible Taxation: Jeff Danklefsen Seeks Haster’s Old 14th Dist. Seat

Political newcomer Jeff Danklefsen has announced his intention to seek the GOP nomination for the 14th District Congressional seat, the one once held by Speaker of the House Denny Hastert.

Mr. Danklefsen is a twelve-year resident of Geneva and seems to have been driven to run for Congress by his involvement in the Kane County Tea Party movement. He has no “political resume,” but says he’s ready to lead.

I do not have a political resume, but I understand the challenges families face with increasing tax burdens and the uncertainty of the job market. I am asking for the opportunity to represent the 14th District taxpayers in Washington D.C. I will stand up for responsible taxation, a balanced budget, and job growth.

The central message on Danklefsen’s website is that of the fiscal irresponsibility of Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat comrades including current 14th District Congressman Bill Foster.

Danklefsen joins several other GOP hopefuls seeking the nomination.

Responsible Taxation: Jeff Danklefsen Seeks Haster’s Old 14th Dist. Seat”


Missing the Larger Point on the Public Option

As Congress prepares to return to work – now there’s an oxymoron – the subject of healthcare is weighing heavy in the air. The August recess provided the American people with contentious town hall meetings where We the People were described by opportunistic, power-hungry politicians as “astroturfers,” “un-American” and “terrorists.” It also saw the Progressive Liberal machine dispatch their minions – special interest group contingents from ACORN, MoveOn.org, SEIU, etc. – to the citizenry in an effort to silence the dissent about government-run healthcare and provide a cheery backdrop for Progressives and President Obama as they “met” with the unwashed masses. But in the debate over healthcare and the public option everyone, sans a very few, missed a constitutional point of order.

The Declaration of Independence, the first of our Charters of Freedom, states:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

Thomas Jefferson and his fellow Framers, acknowledging the philosophy of Natural Law, made it quite clear that we, as an American people, believe in and accept that the right to “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” is unalienable. By establishing these “unalienable rights,” the Framers meant to ensure that government would refrain from legislating laws that would encroach upon or deny these natural rights – these unalienable rights – to every American citizen.

Illinois Conservative Summit, Full Report

As mentioned in the earlier post, I was invited to cover the Illinois Conservative Summit sponsored by the United Republican Fund of Illinois.

The URF is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and is Illinois’ oldest, independent, conservative GOP organization. The URF’s charge is to advance conservative policies and principles by supporting candidates that will advance limited government, individual rights, free enterprise, and traditional values.

Today’s forum is a Q and A session with six Republican candidates for governor where a set of four fixed questions and one candidate specific question was asked each candidate. Each candidate got 20 minutes for the whole session and were warned that they’d be cut off if they tried to filibuster. At the end a 9-question “lightening round” where the candidates were to offer short answers was given each candidate. I have to say that only one candidate came close to going over and even he had basically answered all the questions etc. so all the candidates were kind enough to stay within the 20 minutes time span (Only Kirk Dillard went on long enough during his opening statements that he wasn’t able to answer all the “lightening round” questions). The candidates were presented in alphabetical order.

Illinois Conservative Summit Report

I am currently sitting in Carlucci’s Restaurant in Downer’s Grove, Ill. to listen to six Republican candidates for the GOP nomination for Illinois governor.

What we have will be each of the six candidates coming before the host and answering a series of questions about their campaign and what they’ll do for the state if elected.

They will appear in alphabetical order. But, one thing will hamper me a tad. There is a ban on live blogging because the candidates don’t want to have their answers sent out onto the Internet before the net guy goes on for his session.

This is a perfectly logical request. I, for one, don’t want to be responsible for accidentally helping a candidate come off better than he should because I leaked what his opponents had said.

So, I will have a full report when this is done.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

NRSC in Colorado: Hey, Let’s Endorse a Tax Raiser!

Nationally, Americans are beginning to again trust Republicans over Democrats on taxes and the economy. The overreach in spending and the constant Democratic drum beat of wanting to raise taxes on “the rich” to pay for a massive enlargement — and engorgement, really — of big government has dug into the high approval rates that Democrats had enjoyed for well over a year. So, what does the National Republican Senatorial Committee want to do in Colorado? You guessed it, they want to endorse a tax raising, squishy moderate for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate for the 2010 race.

My friend Ben DeGrow of the Mount Virtus blog has discerned the rumblings beginning to come out of the NRSC and it looks like that wayward group is about to land four-square behind former Lt. Governor Jane Norton as the GOP race for the Senate gets rolling in the Centennial State.

President Barack Obama, you’ve overwhelmed “We The People.” Since you were given the prestige of the highest office in the land, there has not been one day of peace or tranquility for the citizens of our country. Many Americans are feeling frustrated and angered, and rightfully so.

One could say you’ve eroded away the last of the American people’s trust, respect, and patience. You’re now threatening to intrude into every facet of our daily lives, and enough is enough.

Thou shalt not bear false witness

We see you as the “number one” community organizer sitting in the White House. The members of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and union thugs are being mobilized to counter the truth at public gatherings. They are sent out for the sole purpose of confronting, threatening, intimidating, and maligning your opponents, including those among America’s elderly who’ve come to stand up for their rights at town hall meetings. — View YouTube)

Very few believe you anymore. Only those who refuse to listen to reason remain gullible. Their minds are still open to your deceptive lies. You used cunningly-crafted words and theatrics during the 2008 election to con half of America into thinking you were a special and decent man of integrity, but even your Democrat constituents are becoming aware of what you are. You and your political cronies are corrupt to the hilt, like the rest of the Daley Chicago political machine.

Government Stimulus Spending: Differing Perspectives

President Franklin Roosevelt, speaking of the intractable Depression, sourly admitted that Keynesian fiscal policy, in theory, was the simplest thing in the world, but in practice, a disaster.

A thoughtful reader, who generally disagrees with me, posted the following as part of his comment responding to The Bigger the Government, the Harder the Economic Fall:

I must confess that I find your “mysticism” explanation of how business cycles occur somewhat baffling, but knowing your anti-Keynesian viewpoint, I should not be surprised that you view any governmental pump priming with suspicion.

According to the butterfly effect, any seemingly insignificant action will have a cascading effect and invariably lead to a chain of events elsewhere. How much more telling would the expenditure (whether you approve or not) of billions of dollars be to the economy than the flutter of the wing of a moth?

My response:

I can’t presume to speak for the reader’s views, but liberal-progressives on balance advocate the Keynesian macro-economic approach, a variety of chaos-theory, butterfly effect, which appears to me to be simplistic.

Beware of Bitter, Old, Lefty, White Women With Dreadlocks

I haven’t seen so many lies, misconstructions, affectations, and guffaw-invoking absurdities in a single editorial in a major American newspaper for a very long time. In fact I thought it wasn’t possible to see so much foolishness in such a small space without satire being the ultimate goal. In the L.A. Times, however, Anne Lamott has succeeded in making a bigger fool of herself in one editorial than Maureen Dowd could hope to have achieved in a whole year’s worth of blather.

Lamott, an aging novelist that churns out those woefully indulgent tomes that forces readers to endure her darkest feelings and imagines that all of us are on the edge of our seats as she chronicles raising her child, fancies herself an expert on faith and grace. She seems to imagine that she defines it, what ever it is. Of course she was one of the most infested with Bush Derangement Syndrome and was quick to warm to her ersatz religious leader, Barack Hussein Obama. It seems to me that she’s spent her life looking for meaning anywhere and she thought she finally found paydirt with The One. She likes to use words like “grace” and “belief” a lot in her writing but like a true newagie, leftist she rarely talks about any actual religion except in the vaguest of terms. It does appear, though, that she had found a new religion in The One.

And now, with her piece in the Times, it seems she is on the verge of losing her religion… again.

The Plame Blame Game, for Real

The Associated Press reported today (Friday) that lawyers for certain detainees at the Gitmo Prison in Cuba, possibly violated federal criminal law by releasing the identity of CIA covert operatives. The current Justice Department investigation connects to both the Valerie Plame matter a few years ago, and the current issue of where and how Gitmo detainees should be charged and tried.

First, the Plame affair. According to the mainstream media, that was about the “outing” of a CIA “covert operative” in violation of federal law. But that law applied only to people who had been a covert operative “within five years.” The only person who identified her as a CIA covert operative within five years of her service was her husband, who let the cat out of the bag in a Who’s Who entry.

She wasn’t outed by anyone, per the law. And it turned out further that the person who gave her name and status to Bob Novak for his column, was the
Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell. What Administration he represents, and even what party, depends on when those questions are asked.

A Night With WSJs John Fund

Tonight I am blogging from an evening with the Wall Street Journal’s John Fund sponsored by the Illinois Policy Institute a conservative, economic policy group out of Cook County, Illinois.

We are meeting in the sumptuous legal library at the Five Star Center at the top of 190 S. LaSalle Ave., Chicago with a commanding view of the city appearing in the large picture windows. The sun (what there was of it on this rainy day) is preparing to set and we are all milling about in welcome, convivial conversation. Having a conversation about matters conservative is not a common thing here in the Windy City, after all.

I have already purchased and had personalized by copy of Mr. Fund’s excellent book “Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy,” and was gratified that this excellent writer chronicalling today’s spiral remembered me from our meeting earlier in the year. No, really. He did. Excellent memory that one.

Incidentally this is an important book for those of you out there that want to get some hard facts on how the Democrats perpetrate vote fraud. Knowing is half the battle of combating it.

In any case I expect to hear some excellent commentary on our political scene by Mr. Fund. I want to thank the Illinois Policy Institute for setting this up and inviting me to come cover it all.

Obamacare to Force Restaurants to Post Health Info

Another great piece by CNSNews reveals that Obamacare will force restaurants to post nutrition information on menus throughout the country. This is more of the amazing overreach that Obama is attempting to force upon all Americans as he launches a full assault on the American character in order to push his nanny state ideals.

If Obamacare passes, Congress has taken upon itself the power to force millions of businesses to reprint their menus. Congress expects any restaurant with 20 outlets or more to observe a provision in section 325 of the House healthcare bill that demands nutritional information to be printed on menus.

Section 325 of the bill says the listings must be placed “(i)n a nutrient disclosure statement adjacent to the name of the standard menu item, so as to be clearly associated with the standard menu item, on the menu listing the item for sale, the number of calories contained in the standard menu item, as usually prepared and offered for sale.”

The nanny state strikes again.
