VIDEO: Sluts Appear to be Dumb as Rocks

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is the sort of vapidity that gives serious causes a bad name, the sort of stupidity that makes people roll their eyes at every protest because idiotic efforts like this make light of every other effort.

CNN has the “news” — and video — of a protest march in Texas called the Slut Walk, an effort to highlight the idea that the way women dress is no invitation to rape them.

The Daily Mail also carried the story and quotes Elizabeth Webb, one of the organizers, as to her purpose. “I know, definitely, it is a controversial name, but we’re trying to reclaim that word and take the power away from that word. And, we want to specify that women dressing like sluts is not how people get raped.”

What? What the heck does “reclaim that word” even mean? What nice women of the past once used the word “slut” as a positive term in order for it to be “reclaimed”?

This is Why I Hate Political Correctness Easter Edition

-By Warner Todd Huston

Yes, I said the un-PC word, hate.

Before I rant, take a look at this Easter themed AP photo:

A polar bear breaks a decorated Easter egg with food inside at the zoo in Buenos Aires, Argentina

OK, now this is supposed to be a photo of a zoo-held bear getting an Easter treat.

Right, now look at the “egg” the bear is mauling. Notice something odd?

Yep, you guessed it. The photo embossed on the “egg” treat is that of none other than that Easter favorite Jim Morrison of the 1960s rock band, The Doors.

Remember how druggie Morrison is such a huge part of Easter?

Yeah… me neither.

Our Modern Universities: Live Sex Shows in the Classroom

-By Warner Todd Huston

So, what do you get for $500 an hour if you are Northwestern University Professor John Bailey and you’re looking for a new way to teach your class about sex? Apparently you get a live sex show right in the classroom where a woman is impaled with a sex toy jammed on the end of a reciprocating power saw. Nice way to spend university donor’s money, isn’t it?

Professor Bailey and his fist full of university cash paid one Kevin Melvoin-Berg to bring a woman and her “fiance” into the classroom where she was brought to orgasm with the aforementioned powertool turned sex toy. Melvoin-Berg runs a Chicago area touring company called Weird Chicago where customers are taken on a tour of all the strangest places in the city. Those “weird” places include areas where there have supposedly been ghost sightings, 20s era gangland sites, serial killer sites, and old prostitution sites in the city. This multitalented character bills himself as a “psychic detective and ghost hunter,” as well. Yes, he’s just the sort of legitimate expert that a university should turn to in order to teach students about human sexuality, ya know?

Like a good educator, Professor Bailey took the intellectual road to defend his inclusion of live sex shows in his class room, too. As he told the Daily Northwestern,”Sticks and stones may break your bones, but watching naked people on stage doing pleasurable things will never hurt you.”

Oh, this prof is way too intahlekshual for me, I have to say.

2010: The Entertainment Industry’s PC Year in Review

-By Warner Todd Huston

For the entertainment industry’s practitioners of political correctness, 2010 was another banner year. Even as conservatives have made deserved headway in La La Land and other areas of the industry, there still aren’t enough conservatives to bring much needed patriotism, logic, and common sense to the scene. Sadly, the industry is still filled with those slavishly dedicated to anti-American tropes, left-wing blather, and self-hatred. From comic books, to music, to radio, TV and movies, PCism still runs rampant.

Without further ado, here are just a few examples of PCism from 2010 in music, TV, movies, and publishing. Certainly there are many more and these are not necessarily a “top ten,” but these examples do serve to show that PCism is not dead despite the Tea Party uprising, the growth of the conservative new media, and the resulting Republican tsunami from the midterm elections.

(In no particular order…)
Movies and Actors

Who could forget the film Machette, starring Danny Trejo and directed by Robert Rodriguez? This one was a sort of pastiche of 1970s exploitation movies with a Mexican twist. The film was replete with White sherifs ruthlessly murdering pregnant Mexican immigrants, American businessmen working to keep Mexicans down, overpowering racism against Mexicans by white Americans and it all seemed intended to inflame militant Mexican nationalism and to goad illegal immigrants in America to put all the blame on white America. The creators claimed it was supposed to be just good, over-the-top fun but in the climate of racial tensions in America today it was as funny as a militant Mexican flavored attempt to start a race war.

Harvard Sick of All Those Old White Guys

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Boston Globe is all aflutter that Harvard University is adding “diversity” to its portraits of celebrated professors, teachers, and associates. The paper is pleased to report that instead of only having upon its walls all those boring, evil, dead white men, now Harvard will be adding black men, black women, and Asians to the display.

Boston Globe clucks disapprovingly that of the some 750 oil portraits in Harvard’s collection of celebrated alumnus only two are of “minorities,” and only just over 50 are of white women. The Globe thinks that Harvard needs some “diversity” and these terrible portraits of evil white men presents an “incomplete picture of Harvard that the university is seeking to change.”

“There’s a significance to portraiture, in demonstrating to people of all backgrounds that their presence and contribution are appreciated,’’ said Dr. S. Allen Counter, director of The Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations, which for eight years has been quietly commissioning portraits of distinguished minorities and women to hang in Harvard’s hallowed halls.

Of course, what we have here is not in keeping with what Harvard once stood for: excellence. Instead of a proud tradition of the best and brightest, now Harvard’s portraiture will genuflect toward “diversity,” racebaiting, and “multiculturalism.”

The Law: Bought And Paid For By Unions

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Chicago Public School system is out of money. Like every business in the real world one solution was to layoff workers, in this case some 700 teachers. In the real world that is the way the cookie crumbles. Such employees would put themselves on the market and look for new jobs. Life moves on. But in the world of public employees unions, such employees run to the judges they’ve bought and the law they wrote themselves and had passed by politicians bought and paid for. So taxpayers are forced to give them concessions, paybacks, and special favors. It all amounts to more proof of union graft and corruption at its most common.

This has happened once again in Chicago as the teachers union went to court to prevent the everyday, common cost cutting measure of laying off workers that every normal American is faced with. And, like the true Chicago Way- styled politics that Illinois is used to, the “law” that was written by unions, paid for by unions, and passed by unions was invoked by judges placed in their court rooms by union money.

And who is left holding the bag? The taxpayers, of course.

Pastor Jones: Won’t Burn A Quran, ‘Not Today, Not Ever.’

-By Warner Todd Huston

The on again, off again, on again Koran burning in Florida is off again, this time for good says infamous pastor Terry Jones. It seems that Pastor Jones finally decided that the burning would not have been the best course of action.
“We will definitely not burn the Quran, no,” he said. “Not today, not ever.”
Jones said that his goal was achieved without the burning. He said that he wanted “to expose that there is an element of Islam that is very dangerous and very radical.” He felt it was a success. “We have definitely accomplished that mission,” he said.

Jones was in New York to appear on the Today Show and said that he hoped he could arrange a meeting with Ground Zero Mosque pusher Imam Faisal Rauf but that no meeting had been arranged at this time.

This story is all puffery, of course. Without the willing assistance of the Old Media it never would have gotten any notice at all. Yet, Pastor Jones has about worn out his welcome with the Old Media, too. Several recent stories in the media have lamented that they bothered to give Jones any coverage at all… which is easy to say now that they’ve done so and the story has run its course.

9/11… NEVER Forget

This morning, as we begin to observe the terrible day of September 11, 2001, let us not fall into mere rote actions and unthinking memorial. We cannot forget that this is not some long past, historical situation that we can comfortably relegate to remembrance on a single day of the year, the rest of our days to go on as if it is but a distant memory. We must keep at the forefront of our minds that we are still in extent danger of another 9/11 at any time and it is only because of the hard and dangerous work that our men and women in uniform are doing every single day that keeps the next towering inferno from our TV screens. The inhuman enemy that caused those Towers to fall, those planes to tumble from the sky, are still out there planning anew. 9/11 is fresh still. Let us remember with a keen pang of loss and rage lest we complacently imagine we are back to a 9/10 world when we are not.

Let us now take a moment to remember those innocents who lost their lives so unexpectedly ad illegitimately that day. And let us thank the many thousands of our first responders who risked it all by jumping immediately to give aid to their fellows.

Let us also pause to remember the many men and women of our armed forces who have lost their precious lives fighting this evil connected to those that perpetrated 9/11 on this peace-loving nation of ours. May their dear sacrifice not be in vain.

Finally, let us also remember those of other nations that lost their lives as they stood boldly beside us in the pursuit of the end of this evil. Those British citizens, Canadians, Australians, Germans, French, Afghan, Iraqi, all those stalwart friends who stood beside us yelling “no more,” and demanding that radical Islam be caged.

9/11 is in our hearts and minds and we say with a unified voice, never again.

Hartford City Council to Start Meeting With Islamic Prayer

-By Warner Todd Huston

In a move sure to see some controversy, the city council of Hartford, Connecticut has decided to start off its city council meetings with a Muslim prayer. An email from the city says they are doing this as “an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

The email from the city invokes the supposed “anti-Islam events” sweeping the country. “One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country,” it says.

There is more explaining from the council:

Unions Prevent Kids from Learning in L.A.

-By Warner Todd Huston

The L.A. Times has been publishing a great series about how the city’s schools have been dropping the ball on education. Specifically, the Times points out that the L.A. schools district has had at its disposal stats that could have helped it to engineer a better education policy for its students but has ignored these stats. Why have they ignored these stats? Fear of unions.

The Times has a database of the effectiveness of nearly 6,000 L.A. area teachers. These findings, the Times informs us, were based on a method called “value-added analysis. It is a method that is beginning to be used to rank teachers and help administrators design a more effective education for kids all across the country.

The Times also says that the L.A. school administrators had this info all along and never used it. Why would that be? (my bold below)

Miss. School: Only White Students can be Class Prez, Only Blacks Vice Prez

-By Warner Todd Huston

In Mississippi, Nettleton Middle School is finally doing away with its policy of portioning school class officer positions by race. As the policy stood before this month, the student officer positions were set up so that if you wanted to run for eighth grade class president you had to be white while if you wanted to be vice-president, why you had to be black.

Before you get the wrong idea, here, this is a 30-year holdover policy meant to assure that both blacks and whites were represented on the school student council in Nettleton. It isn’t a new policy by any means.

This year when the memo went home to parents about the racial requirements to run for class officer positions, though, the school district was questioned on the efficacy of the practice. So, after 30 years the board finally decided to get rid of the old policy. Superintendent Russell Taylor released a statement explaining the decision made at an “emergency session” of the school board.

Missouri Grade School: Singing ‘Happy Birthday’ Song is ‘Insensitive’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Fox News Radio’s Todd Sterns reported that a Missouri elementary school tried to ban the singing of “Happy Birthday To You” in order to be “sensitive” about those students that might find singing in public to be “offensive.”

In a letter sent home to parents, school Principal Jodi Davidson (pictured) explained that the ban on the venerable song was because, “singing is not permitted due to the sensitivity of all student beliefs.”

As soon as outraged parents began to complain, our supersensitive principal reversed course and on August 23 sent a letter rescinding the ban.

Catch this lie being told by Principal Davidson to cover for her original politically correct decision:
