Eco-Fascists in England Want You Dead Unless You Agree With Them
-By Warner Todd Huston
There is an eco-nazi effort going on in England called the 10:10 Campaign and in a video meant to encourage people to join the green effort people that disagree with the eco-nazis are murdered for their skepticism. Apparently murdering those that disagree with you is supposed to be funny.
In a Telegraph article, James Delingpole says, “Eco-fascism jumps the shark.” It hink it’s done more than that. It’s revealed its fascist nature.
Dear Brittany, did you know your tax money went to pay for this disgusting, hateful, fascist eco-nonsense? So, if you don’t believe in Globaloney you should be murdered in the messiest of manners? Yep, that’s the Nazis on the left I know, for sure. If you don’t agree with them, why you should be “re-educated” or killed.
As Delingpole’s article notes, this garbage was not only sponsored by the British government it was also funded by a few private businesses: O2, Sony and Kyocera. You might want to let them know of your displeasure.

Tearful Emanuel Leaves WH Job, Says Obama Leads in ‘Toughest Times’ in History?
-By Warner Todd Huston
In the worst kept secret in D.C., White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel officially left his post in a tearful press conference on the morning of Oct. 1.
Most of what Mr. Emanuel had to say was your normal, average, everyday puffery that a junior member of a team says when he is leaving his position. Emanuel’s thanks-for-the-memories address was all perfectly innocuous… except for one thing.
Early in his remarks Emanuel issued some hortatory for his boss, President Obama. “I want to thank you for being the toughest leader any country can ask for in the toughest times any country has ever faced,” Emanuel said.
Now, some may think that this is just glad-handing of the sort that one might expect of an underling leaving his beloved boss. But this is far more revealing than that.
Just think of what Emanuel said, here. He claimed that his president has led through the “toughest times any country has ever faced.” Tougher than the Revolution when we weren’t even sure we’d make it as a nation? Tougher than what Madison faced in the War of 1812 when the White House was nearly burnt to the ground? Tougher than the Civil War that Lincoln faced? Tougher than WWI, the Great Depression, WWII?

U of Chicago Prof Says His $400,000 Salary Is Taxed Too Much
-By Warner Todd Huston
University professors so often get the reputation of being ivory tower pinheads sheltered from real life and out of touch with reality. Professor Todd Henderson of the University of Chicago sure didn’t help change that perception when he posted a blog post detailing how Obama’s tax hikes will hurt and that his combined family income of $400,000 annually still doesn’t prevent them from struggling to keep up with his bills.
The professor posted some of his family finances in order to show that even though many feel he is “rich” he has bills like everyone else and Obama’s tax hikes coming next year will hurt him badly. Interestingly, Henderson a neighbor of Obama in Chicago’s prestigious Hyde Park neighborhood.
“A quick look at our family budget, which I will gladly share with the White House, will show him that, like many Americans, we are just getting by despite seeming to be rich. We aren’t,” Henderson wrote on the blog post.

Video: Spending Just Got Personal
This is a pretty inventive way to relate polling figures, I have to say. This one was made by BankruptingAmerica.org.
Seven out of ten voters say government spending is too high and 68 percent say spending is affecting them personally, according to a bipartisan ten-state poll we sponsored. Our fans told us they love the infographics we made to visualize the poll’s key findings. So we made a video taking the graphics to the next level.
Hundreds from our online community have taken the poll themselves. See how their views match up with them and the rest of the country. Click here to weigh in now.
WOW, Democrat Jokes That Seniors Should Be Denied End-Of-Life Healthcare
-By Warner Todd Huston
Democrat Gary McDowell is running to replace Bart Stupak (D, MI) in Michigan’s First District and while he may be hoping he might get the votes of seniors coming to the end of their time here on this mortal coil, he sure seems reticent to give them the medical care they’ll need to be around much longer after the election!
At a campaign appearance, McDowell agreed with those Obamacare supporters that think giving lifesaving medical care to seniors at end of life is a “resource” that needs to be rationed.
McDowell even makes a joke of the issue by saying that those that say end-of-life care should be rationed must be “from a safe district” because the “inconvenient truth” as he sees it is a tough pill to swallow.
Death panels, anyone?
Like a true Democrat McDowell thinks that setting up death panels should be swathed in less alarming language but that they should still be set up. “I was more diplomatic in not mentioning the end of life,” he said to those gathered. Yet he still meant to talk about how we need to ration healthcare at the end of life because “as adults” we need to accept McDowell’s “truth” that it’s just too expensive to save grandma’s life.
Let’s hope that Michiganders vote for Doctor Dan Benishek instead of McDowell for Michigan’s First.

Obama in Negative Numbers EVEN in Illinois?
-By Warner Todd Huston
Public Policy Polling has released a poll of voters in President Obama’s home state of Illinois. shockingly it shows that Obama has a 49% disapproval rating in Illinois.
The Illinois poll we’ll release this week won’t do much to change the conventional wisdom on either the Senate or Gubernatorial race in the state but it does have one pretty surprising finding: Barack Obama’s approval numbers have dropped into negative territory even with likely voters in his home state. 44% approve of the job he’s doing while 49% say they disapprove.
The polling firm also finds that independents have lost faith in The One. “Independents strongly disapprove of him with just 35% feeling he’s doing a good job to 57% unhappy,” they report.
If Obama can’t even hold his own state, then he really is in trouble. But this parallels the dismal approval ratings that Democrats are seeing across the board.

Vadum: A Reminder, ACORN Funding NOT Permanently Cut Off
-By Warner Todd Huston
Matthew Vadum, ever vigilant on the evils perpetrated by ACORN, reminds us that the criminal community organizer has not had its federal funding cut off permanently. The temporary cut off is soon to expire and Vadum reports that there doesn’t seem to be anyone in Congress taking up a reinstatement of the ban.
In his Sept. 28 piece at the American Spectator, Vadum says that many people are confused about the funding ban imagining it was permanent.
This confusion about ACORN can probably be blamed in part on the quirks of parliamentary procedure and the complexity of the appropriations process. The legal language prohibiting the funding is contained in spending legislation that covers only the federal government’s current fiscal year which ends this Sept. 30.
The current funding ban is due to run out soon.
So is Congress making to fix this lack of attention on ACORN?

The United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) is attacking Walmart (and has been for years) and how are they doing it? By picketing, of course. Yes, they send their members down to Walmart to protest the evil, evil Walmart that refuses to hire union folks and…what? Wait.
The union doesn’t send their members to protest?

A Teamsters High? Dope Growers Join Union
-By Warner Todd Huston
Can you imagine the Teamsters mellowed? Can you think of them being more interested in munchies than in beating up non-union workers? Imagine them just hanging out instead of doing some mobster’s bidding on the mean streets.
The good news today is that we may finally see the violence and agitation in which Teamsters have for so long been embroiled come to a mellow end because California’s pot growers have joined the union. Maybe the dopers will spread the mellow?
In California, the teamsters have organized 40 marijuana workers. They work as gardeners, trimmers and cloners. It’s not clear how labor laws will apply to this situation, since medical marijuana is legal in California but is still a federal crime. Still, the workers got a new contract and a raise.
Nah. More likely the dopers will just become more militant and start beating up non-union drug dealers.
But we can dream, can’t we?

Government Report Says ACORN Spinoff Illicitly Got Federal Funding
-By Warner Todd Huston
A report by the inspector general of the Department of Housing and Urban Development says that the ACORN Housing Corporation improperly received millions in federal funds. The report demands that the group repay the ill-gotten gain.
The organization later changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America after ACRON’s name was so badly tarnished by revelations of its corruption.
The report said that more than $9 million went to the organization and that some 80 percent of the $3.25 million received between 2008 and 2009 went to salaries for ACORN employees.

Mentally Retarded Now Have ‘Intellectual Disability’
-By Warner Todd Huston
Along with implementing a socialist takeover of healthcare making it more expensive and less attentive, aside from taking over America’s car industry and creating a new brand of auto — Government Motors — and right along side efforts to give Big Labor millions of our tax dollars in payoffs and bailouts, not to mention attempting to takeover the banking and investing sectors, the Obama administration and the Democrat Party have also decided that we can no longer say “mentally retarded,” or even mentally disabled.” Hence forth by order of Democrats we shall now call them “intellectually disabled.”
This is the really important work of Congress in these “interesting times” in which we live.
With this important work, Congress has changed the label in existing health, education and labor law so that the terminology will more closely ascribe to that of the United Nation’s health arm.
Me, I’d like to know when they will officially classify liberalism as a mental disease? Maybe instead of saying they suffer from liberalism, we should say they suffer from “Intellectual Disassociation Disorder.” Because they certainly can’t seriously imagine that their lies and schemes comport with reality in any way.
Still, I am glad that Congress has taken the time away from spending us into oblivion and indulging its plans to materially destroy the USA to make it a less powerful member of the European Union to alter our mental health definitions to fit the UN’s needs. God knows we can’t help the UN out enough.

Senate Dems Pushing Another Big Union Payoff
-By Warner Todd Huston
Senate Democrats, Harry Ried in the lead, are once again attempting to bestow a big payoff to unions by attempting to defeat Senate Resolution 30.
This resolution would turn back a union payoff that Democrats slipped by the nation last May. A rules change made by Obama’s National Mediation Board, a federal agency that regulates relations between labor unions and businesses, changed the way union votes are governed.
The rule change allowed unions to tabulate pro-union votes by counting a majority of those employees voting in a particular election instead of counting the majority of all the employees of a company. In other words, if a company has 50,000 employees but only 2,000 vote in a union election, the majority of the 2,000 is what counts toward a majority. This means that a tiny minority of a company’s employees could impose union rules on the majority.
This is little else but stealth enactment of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).

Remember That Business About Healthcare Being Cheaper and You Could Keep You Coverage…
-By Warner Todd Huston
… well, we are finding out now that millions of seniors will have to change their Medicare prescription plans because of “double-digit hikes” in costs.
Premiums will go up an average of 10 percent among the top 10 drug plans that have signed up about 70 percent of seniors, according to an analysis of Medicare data by Avalere Health, a private research firm.
Marketing for next year’s drug plans gets under way Oct. 1, and seniors will see some of the biggest changes since the Medicare prescription benefit became available in 2006. More than 17 million are enrolled in private drug plans offered through Medicare.
Oh, so costs are going to go up?
Well, then what about keeping your plan if you like it?

At Bargain Ticket Prices Obama Can’t Even Fill a 650 Seat Room!
-By Warner Todd Huston
Over at the left-wing Daily Beast, Gail Sheehy has a story that should make every Obamaite tremble in fear of November 2. As Sheehy reports it, in New York President Obama couldn’t even fill a room that holds 650 even though they slashed the ticket prices from $500 to $100 a person to get in.
On the 22nd Obama appeared in New York for a fundraiser but organizers found that attendees were harder to come by than ever. As Sheehy points out, this is six weeks before the elections. Less than two months and Democrats can’t garner enough enthusiasm to sell 650 tickets to see the president up close and personal.
Initially tickets were priced at $500 a person but as the event neared, panic set in and emails began to gush from the organizers offering bargain basement, slashed ticket prices in order to fill the room. Sheehy paid just $100 to stand in the same small room with The One and she only anted up after half a dozen emails pleading that she come.
Then there were the protesters. I guess the lowball ticket prices didn’t serve to keep the riff raff out as Obama faced sudden chants taking him to task for the military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy.

Truth Or Fiction Gives Huston the Thumbs Up
-By Warner Todd Huston
Hey I got “fact checked” by the website TruthOrFiction.comand was found… to be 100% correct! I was not aware that this happened, but someone stumbled across it and emailed it to me.
Apparently one of my articles was turned into one of those widely distributed email chain letters and it was so widely emailed to and fro that the fact checker websites took up the issue.
The article that was being emailed was mine titled, “Obama Orders Army NOT To Fly U.S. Flag in Haiti.” In this one I reported that the Obama administration ordered the U.S. military not to fly the U.S. flag during its relief work in earthquake-ravaged Haiti in early 2010.
So why did the Obama administration forbid flying our own flag in Haiti?

Obama to Dumb Down Car Ratings Stickers
-By Warner Todd Huston
Earlier this month the Obama administration floated a trial balloon about changing the way vehicle information stickers on new cars would be structured. The administration floated the idea of letter grades instead of the more full information that vehicle stickers now contain. The most fuel-efficient would get and “A” rating with less green cars having descending grades.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the letter grades would be used to rate compliance with reen policies. Electric vehicles would be the only ones to get the “A” rating with gas-powered cars getting lesser grades.
On the website of Edmunds.com, a consumer advocate outlet, the response to the letter grading idea was swift and negative. One point made on the site is particularly poignant. An Edmunds respondent said, “Having a giant letter grade will influence buyers too much. Auto companies will start making incredibly fuel efficient cars to get an A grade, which is good, but the over-all quality of the car itself could be lowered.” The rest of the comments were equally negative.

Obama Says U.S. Can ‘Absorb Terror Attacks’
-By Warner Todd Huston
Eh, don’t worry, America. If there is another 9/11-like terror attack, The One says that we can “absorb it” and just become “stronger” because of it. It’s as if he wants it to happen, or something!
In his latest book, Bob Woodward encountered a President Obama that seemed to casually blow off worry of another terror attack. The Washington Post gave us a sneak preview of Woodward’s newest tome where Obama acted so flippantly toward another 9/11. (my bold)
Woodward’s book portrays Obama and the White House as barraged by warnings about the threat of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and confronted with the difficulty in preventing them. During an interview with Woodward in July, the president said, “We can absorb a terrorist attack. We’ll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever… we absorbed it and we are stronger.”
If we are “stronger,” and that is entirely debatable, it certainly isn’t because of anything the Obama administration has done.

Coming to YOUR Nation: Muslims Forcibly Take Over French Street for Prayers
-By Warner Todd Huston
One of the more insidious ways that Muslims try to impose their sharia laws on western nations is to use the west’s liberal laws against them by warping that law to install sharia by stealth. Such is the case in a section of France where Muslims, sometimes appearing in the hundreds, choke a French street to perform their daily prayers. They have no permits, they have not asked for legal permission, they simply congregate by the hundreds and do it, breaking the law as they do so.
Sadly, the French government has told the police to stand idly by and allow it to happen showing that France is being pulled both ways on Islam.
On one hand they are strictly a secular government even going so far as to make religious expression uncomfortable — especially for Christians. France has banned the veil and many Frenchmen have spoken out against radical Islam.

Obama’s Favors to Unions
-By Warner Todd Huston
The Washington Examiner asks a few substantive questions about unions this Labor Day weekend. Why do they seem to have such an outsized power when their dues paying members are fewer than ever, when they work in fewer industries than ever, and when they have such money troubles?
Ah, but the answer is what we all know. They have a president in Washington that’s bought and paid for.
Here are just some of the favors that Obama has given to his patrons in Big Labor as the Examiner notes:

Majority of Union Members Now Work for Government
-By Warner Todd Huston
It is the most important hill that folks interested in good government have yet to conquer and that is the elimination of government employee unions. The Heritage Foundation reports the sad and disgusting news that the majority of union members now work for government, an intolerable situation to say the least.
The BLS’s annual report on union membership shows the labor movement’s decline in membership continued in 2009. While a full 23.0 percent of Americans belonged to labor unions in 1980, by 2008 only 12.4 percent did. In 2009, that figure dropped slightly to 12.3 percent.[2] There are now 15.3 million union members in the United States, 770,000 fewer than in 2008.
…What is newsworthy, however, is another figure reported by the BLS: 52 percent of all union members work for the federal or state and local governments, a sharp increase from the 49 percent in 2008. A majority of American union members are now employed by the government; three times more union members now work in the Post Office than in the auto industry.
This is a travesty. Unions are one of the main causes of budgets going into the red in states all across the country. The incestuous relationship between politicians greedy for union political contributions and unions donating to them in order to get ever grater pay and benefits (all conveniently cutting out the will of the voters and destroying good, fiscally responsible government) has about ruined this country.

Hypocrisy Is Big Labor’s Big Problem
-By Warner Todd Huston
Deroy Murdock over at the National Review has a great column detailing a dozen or so instances of rank hypocrisy perpetrated by unions. Deroy says that for all of Bog Labor’s yammering about worker’s right: “Such class-warfare sloganeering would be easier to stomach if Big Labor were internally consistent.”
Murdock gives all sorts of examples of unions violating their own supposedly closely held tenets. From unions firing employees for trying to organize the union’s own office workers, to unions using non-union labor to build their own offices, unions prove to be filled with liars and hypocrites.
Check out Deroy Murdock’s piece, “Hypocrisy Is Big Labor’s Big Problem .”

Obama Panders to Union Thugs on Labor Day And Whines A Bit, Too
-By Warner Todd Huston
President Obama dutifully went to Wisconsin today under orders from his union patrons to make a big show of his support for union thugs on Labor Day.
The bought and paid for president gave his remarks (text of prepared remarks) as expected but there was a little wrinkle this time. Apparently the poor widdle president is upset at his critics. He whined to his union patrons that his critics “talk about me like a dog.” President Obama, I, for one, would never insult dogs like that.
Obama: They talk about me like a dog
(CNN) – Those following President Obama’s prepared remarks during a speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Monday were thrown a bit of a curveball when it came to a description of his critics:
“Some powerful interests who had been dominating the agenda in Washington for a very long time and they’re not always happy with me. They talk about me like a dog. That’s not in my prepared remarks, but it’s true,” he told a crowd largely consisting of union members.
The line was a rare departure from a president who normally sticks close to the text of his speech and may forecast a more aggressive tone on the part of Obama as the midterms approach.
The address is the first of two speeches this week in which Obama will try and frame his administration’s response to the recession, less than two months ahead of midterm elections where Democratic majorities in the House and Senate are on the ropes.

Credit Card ‘Reform’ Will Force All Credit Purchases to Exceed $10
-By Warner Todd Huston
Previous to the current meddling by Congress, stores were technically not allowed to require a minimum purchase for credit cards. If you wanted to charge ten cents or ten dollars merchants were supposed to accept the charge. But the Durbin Amendment (Sen. Dick Durbin, D of Ill.) to the credit card “reform” bill passed by Congress will change all that by allowing stores to set a minimum charge amount of $10 before you are allowed to use your credit card to purchase something.
This is just one more way that Congress is reaching into your pocket and taking your money. It is easy to realize that millions of people, when told they have to spend $10 to use a credit card, will charge to the minimum despite what they really intended to buy. It’s an obvious and unseen tax, in essence. It will become a common sight at cash registers when someone gets a bill of $6 or $7 rung up, a credit card will be brought out, the cashier will tell them of the new minimum charge rule, and the consumer will grab a few candy bars or some other nearby item to push the charge over that $10 minimum. This will be money spent that wasn’t intended to be spent but it will happen a lot from here on out.

Called on the Carpet: Obama’s New WH Rug Muffs History
-By Warner Todd Huston
He grew up in Indonesia, his father was a Kenyan, and he’s been fighting the perception that he isn’t much of an American since he became a nationally known entity. Unfortunately for President Obama, his redecoration of the Oval Office is not helping by making him seem just as ignorant about America as his critics claim. This latest gaffe is in the expensive rug he commissioned that has woven onto it a quote mis-attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr.
Obama’s rug has attributed to King an oft-repeated line, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Sure King said it. But even King reminded people that he wasn’t its creator.
Jamie Stiehm has the facts regarding this quote. It was originated by the 19th century champion of social progress, Theodore Parker.
Parker was a staunch anti-slavery man who died just on the eve of the American civil war, a man involved in every reform effort of his day, quite a radical for his time. He even supported domestic terrorist John Brown and supplied money for guns to be used in the “Bloody Kansas” fights over slavery.
King admired this white man who fought to end slavery and used his phrase many times — with full attribution, of course.
