Some Endorsements Worth Review

-By Vince Johnson

Since Sarah Palin was nominated for Vice President my E-mail has been overloaded with negative and caustic commentary about both McCain and Palin. My response is herewith respectfully submitted.

Back in July 2008, Obama was proud to accept the endorsement of John Edwards. I can’t fault Obama for never mentioning this fact once since the day Edwards denied being the father of a baby born by a woman he was dating while his wife was battling breast cancer.

Jesse Jackson and Bill Clinton have endorsed Barack Obama. This is one endorsement I am absolutely certain that neither Palin nor McCain would object to.

Newest Palin Attack: Son Vandalized Buses, Forced to Join Military (NYDaily News Debunks)

-By Warner Todd Huston

It seems like the rumors, innuendo and smears thrown by the left against Governor Sarah Palin and her family will never stop. Apparently, the newest lie being casually thrown about by the DemocraticUnderground and the National Enquirer is that Palin’s soldier son Track was involved as an unidentified vandal of Wasilla school buses in 2005. Worse, the rumormongers are denigrating Track’s patriotism for joining the military and claiming that he was somehow “forced” to join to avoid prosecution. Naturally, they haven’t a shred of proof. Fortunately, the New York Daily News has quickly debunked this lie.

In a DU posting from September 2, it was claimed that a “non-disclosed judicial source” said that Track Palin was an “unidentified minor” involved in tire slashings of a fleet of school buses in Wasilla in December of 2005. A 2005 report says that several teens had been found “deflating tires in 44 First Student buses, breaking mirrors and unplugging 110 buses from their engine-block heaters, which caused the buses not to start in subzero weather on Nov. 29.”

What is Emerging from the Emergent Church?

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

The Emergent Church heavily promotes many pagan and heretical practices although its adherents profess to be “evangelical.” They may possess a desire to move the world but they are moving it in the wrong direction. Too many of them are willing to tinker with orthodox theology, thereby satisfying unbelievers, to accomplish that task. We do not need church leaders that move with the world but leaders who move the world by preaching an inerrant Word.

Some followers use the term “Emergent Church” rather than “Emerging Church.” They prefer to call their interaction “conversation.” I suggest that the Emerging Church is the overall movement, direction, or philosophy while the Emergent Church is the result. I believe the Emergent Church is an outgrowth or response to the megachurch movement that has begun to lose steam. Even the prissy princes of the press have started to critique megachurches and shine the spotlight on the dark and unscriptural side of that movement.

Biden Says Hillary Better Qualified Than He? Isn’t Everyone?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Everyone was shocked when Barack Obama dumped his claim to be the agent of “change” by choosing a status quo, ages old politician for his vice presidential slot. Many laughed outloud the second Biden’s name slipped out of the messiah’s lips. Apparently even Senator Joe Biden is shocked. Slow Joe told a crowd on Wednesday that Hillary Clinton might have been a better pick to fill the second slot on the ticket than he.

“Make no mistake about this Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America… and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.”

It is looking more every day like this is the correct assessment. Even Joe thinks its true.

So, I just thought we’d take a minute to see who else is more qualified to be vice president than slow Joe Biden?

#1

Of course we have the aforementioned Hillary Clinton at the top of the list… at least the top of THIS list, not that Barack Obama has a clue. Who else could keep the PUMA’s in line, who else could unite the Shemale Manhaters club of the feminazi movement? Who else has been at the nexus of history telling Bill to put his pants back on? Hillary Clinton has for decades done so much for this country by having her husband pave the way for her. Still, at least she has a proven record of vote getting. After all, millions of people voted for her. By contrast a whopping 8,000 people voted for slow Joe Biden when he was running for president!

Never Forget Sept 11, 2001

This morning, as we begin to observe the terrible day of September 11, 2001, let us not fall into mere rote actions and unthinking memorial. We cannot forget that this is not some long past, historical situation that we can comfortably relegate to remembrance on a single day of the year, the rest of our days to go on as if it is but a distant memory. We must keep at the forefront of our minds that we are still in extent danger of another 9/11 at any time and it is only because of the hard and dangerous work that our men and women in uniform are doing every single day that keeps the next towering inferno from our TV screens. The inhuman enemy that caused those Towers to fall, those planes to tumble from the sky, are still out there planning anew. 9/11 is fresh still. Let us remember with a keen pang of loss and rage lest we complacently imagine we are back to a 9/10 world when we are not.

Let us now take a moment to remember those innocents who lost their lives so unexpectedly ad illegitimately that day. And let us thank the many thousands of our first responders who risked it all by jumping immediately to give aid to their fellows.

9/11 is in our hearts and minds and we say with a unified voice, never again.

Philly Inquirer’s New Palin Slam: She Sold her State’s Plane? So What?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Mario Cattabiani of the Philadelphia Inquirer wants you to know that Governor Sarah Palin’s selling of her state’s plane is no big deal. Why? Well, because Democrat Governor Ed “Fast Eddie” Rendell sold his state’s plane, too, and he got a better deal. So, Palin’s plane purveying pales next to Rendell’s according to Cattabiani. Only, there are quite a few facts that Cattabiani seems to have skipped in his story. So, apparently, the only way for the Philly Inquirer to pooh pooh Palin’s efforts is to mislead us about Rendell’s. Unfortunately for Cattabiani, his piece ends up being just another way to lie about Palin’s record.

Starting out suitably flippant, Cattabiani takes a sarcastic jab at Palin telling her that she should “take a lesson from the Rendell administration on how to sell a state airplane,” and then goes on to relate how Rendell sold his state plane at a profit. And Cattabiani then quotes a Rendell crony to the effect that Palin is “inexperienced” because of it all. Naturally, there is no investigation into what sorts of planes the two Governors sold, nor what they were worth because it turns out the Pennsylvanian plane was worth more than the Alaskan plane in the first place — nor does Cattabiani give the Palin camp any space to reply to the political jab.

World’s Gutter Governments To Sit In Judgment Over U.S. Human Rights Record

-By Frederick Meekins

No one is perfect. As such, at times correction and admonition may need to be promulgated to set the ethically concerned back on the right path.

When issued by those adhering to the high standards to which they profess, such criticism can be looked upon as a helpful corrective to assist equals in living up to their potential. However, when such accusations are leveled or sustained by those with no intentions of living up to the standard themselves, the maligned should turn the tables against such dubious defamers and expose just who it is that undermines dignity, order, and liberty.

According to a May 20, 2008 Washington Times article titled “U.N. Puts Its Scope On U.S. Racism”, this world body has sent an envoy to the United States to gather information regarding racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and “related intolerance”. According to others in the human rights industry, such as Freedom House, this category of protections does not limit itself to narrowly defined matters such as abridgements of free speech or mass killings and seizures of property but also includes healthcare, education, and equal justice for immigrants and minorities.

For starters, before we start badmouthing what is available in this great land for these particular classes of people (especially immigrants), perhaps we should take a look at the places from which the new arrivals came. For a toilet bowl might be a dramatic improvement if you just crawled up from the sewer. If they have it so poor here, why did they come here in the first place, and if it is not to their liking here, they are always free to go back.

Did Obama Steal his ‘Lip Stick on a Pig’ Speech from a Political Cartoon?

-By Warner Todd Huston

The folks at FreeRepublic have found an interesting… uh, shall we say coincidence… concerning Barack Obama’s widely panned September 9 comments made at a rally in Virginia where he seemed to be saying that Governor Palin was a “pig” by referencing the “lipstick” quote from her acceptance speech at the GOP convention. It is looking like Obama’s comments were not off the cuff, but scripted. And, not only were they scripted, but they were stolen without attribution from a Washington Post political cartoon by Tom Toles from September 5.

Obama tried to quip that “you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig” when attacking the McCain/Palin record. But the entire segment, including the previous comments leading up to the insensitive “pig” line, are almost word for word from the Tom Toles cartoon form the 5th.

Transcript:

John McCain says he’s about change too. Exce- and and so I guess his whole angle is – watch out, George Bush – except for economic policy, healthcare policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl-Rove-style politics, we’re really gonna shake things up in Washington.

That’s not change.

That’s that’s just callin’ sumpin’ the same thing somethin’ different.

But you know, you can’t, you know, you you can put, ah, lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

And now for the cartoon…

You can see for yourself that the entire segment before his “pig” quip matches the Toles cartoon exactly.

So, now we have a few points to ponder. Will the Obama campaign admit that this whole bit was lifted from Tom Toles? And are we to understand that the Obama campaign is now being programmed by cartoons?

See ya in the funny papers, Barack.

Palin-Bashing ‘Us Weekly’ Offers Free Issues to Stem Avalanche of Cancellations

-By Warner Todd Huston

As I reported on September 5, the celebrity gossip magazine “Us Weekly” got inundated by angry subscribers demanding their subscriptions be cancelled after the slick published an issue bashing McCain VP pick Governor Sarah Palin, her family and litle baby Trig.

Well, now it looks like “Us Weekly” is desperate to stem the tide of angry cancellations by offering free issues to anyone upset over the Palin-Bashing issue. Michelle Malkin is reporting that the magazine is sending subscribers an email begging them not to cancel and offering a groveling apology.

Radical Code Pinkers Presented as ‘Independents’ In Det. Free Press Focus Group

-By Warner Todd Huston

Back on September 3, the Detroit Free Press ran a feature asking local voters how they felt about Governor Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech during the Republican National Convention. However, several of those identified as “independent” voters have turned out to be far from independent but are anti-war activists and members of the radical hate-group, Code Pink. Looks like the Detroit Free Press got snookered big time on this one.

The Free Press published the opinions of Ilene Beninson, 52, and Joellen Gilchrist, 64, as the opinion of “independents” and, naturally, they both hated Palin and her speech. But, as the days rolled onward, it has come to light that neither Beninson nor Gilchrist are as “independent” as they claimed. Even ABC’s Jake Tapper got snared by the sham independents. Tapper later apologized for his error.

Please note that two of the “independents” the Free Press interviewed appear to be anti-war activists, thus not particularly predisposed to have an open mind about Gov. Palin. I had quoted one of them, but have removed her comments.

Besides ABC, several other Old Media outlets picked up on these bogus “independents” that the Free Press foisted on the reading public.

The Death of Shame

-By Warner Todd Huston

There was once a day in America when a convicted child molester might find that his life was ruined, dogged forever by the shame of his evil deeds. Today, though, one might be a child molester on one hand, but a celebrated member of the community for being a great kid’s little league umpire on the other. Such a skunk might even find that he is given awards for his efforts behind the plate despite his serving behind bars.

For this is a day when shame has been killed.

Can anyone imagine a lower human being than someone who would force themselves upon a child, physically and mentally raping them, forcing them to deal with the shame and fear of it for the rest of their lives?

Unfortunately, the folks of the little league umpire association in Torrington, Connecticut can’t seem to imagine why anyone would find a child molester such a bad fellow. Because, instead of heaping shame on one that is in their midst, they’ve raised him up to celebrate his life’s deeds.

The Torrington Board of Approved Baseball Umpires, at least, feels that convicted child molester Tom Barbero is a fine example of the umpire’s art. They think so much of him that they’ve given him an award for his umpiring because he “deserves” such recognition.

Oh, sure Barbero was convicted and sentenced to four years behind bars and 35 years probation for sexually molesting three teenaged boys in 1994 and 1995. But, hey, he was a great ump, nonetheless.

Outrageous: Fake ebay Listing Selling Palin’s Baby Trig as ‘Political Prop’

-By Warner Todd Huston

**Image Below The Fold**

This one was all over the net yesterday. Apparently, a poster at the radical nutroot site, DemocraticUnderground, created a fake listing for someone pretending to sell baby Trig on ebay. The faux listing read “Baby used prop newborn boy 3-6 months special needs,” and included a description that called Governor Palin a “pushy social climber, unwilling to let pregnancy and children stand in the way of ambition.” It also listed baby’s Trig’s father as “unknown.”

Originally appearing on the DemocraticUnderground at around 1PM on September 4, by DU poster Bob Weaver, the thread was soon locked by DU moderators and the image scrubbed from the site. But not before a screen shot was taken…

It Looks Like Hillary Was Right

-By Vince Johnson

There is a good chance Obama won’t get elected after all, but for reasons Hillary may have not have considered. Obama has the grace, the eloquence, the brilliant mind, the charisma, the family, and the demeanor that makes him a powerful vote getter. What Obama lacks is what leaders like Colin Powell have in abundance, and that is the time tested ability to provide strong leadership in responsibilities that included tenures as Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Yes, I specifically used Colin Powell as an example to emphasize that I do not regard race as a negative in Obama’s resume. The reasons I cannot support Obama for President have received little attention thus far in the campaign. The first is that I have come to believe that Obama has very little understanding of America’s grass roots population. I mean the people who grow, process and deliver our food. The people who teach our kids, and build our homes, and run our businesses, and keep America on the move, and care for us when we are ill, and serve our nation in the military, and work on holidays in restaurants and stores, and on and on. In my view Obama connects with the elite, but not with the mainstream where Presidential elections are won and lost.

Google’s dominance grows, But Don’t forget DOJ investigation

-By Scott Cleland

Google’s online advertising dominance grows — Don’t forget the pending DOJ investigation…

Google’s dominance of the Internet’s business model for monetizing content only grows.

“Gap widens in online advertising: Rivals struggle to catch up to Google as buyers favor search over display” reports Jessica Vascellaro in the Wall Street Journal.

The article’s conclusion is dead on and ominous — the gap between Google and its competitors in online advertising is widening and will continue to do so because the business that Google dominates, search advertising, is growing significantly faster than display advertising is.

While the article focused on the different growth rates of online advertising, the article missed the opportunity to highlight what else the numbers tell us:

The Original Mavericks

-By Warner Todd Huston

A warning comes to my mind from this ad. The fact that Republicans are just as eager to smack down the Republican Party as anyone else seems to me to be a very upsetting notion. Not upsetting as in a liar’s claim, but upsetting that it is TRUE!

Think of it people. We are all ecstatic that Palin is on the ticket, we are all resigned that McCain is on the ticket. BOTH are famous for attacking their own Party! And we are FINE with that for the most part (though McCain has taken it too far more often than not).

What will this “maverick” deal spawn? Will it create a whole raft of GOP followers that specialize in bucking the GOP? And won’t that weaken this party even more than it already is?

Food for thought. Let’s not take this “maverick” thing too far.

NYT/LAT Disrespecting Mrs. Palin’s Marriage?

-By Warner Todd Huston

What’s in a name? Well, if you’ll excuse my Shakespeare, what’s in a name is a certain level of respect. And in the pursuit of straight news a person’s name should be presented without sarcastic manipulation as well as with proper titles affixed. For instance, Hillary Clinton is properly either Mrs. Clinton or Senator Clinton. On the other hand, calling Hillary “Her Thighness” is not appropriate in a straight news story. It may be funny, of course, but it is not proper nor does it show the respect due the woman. (I know, I’m a killjoy) So, why does the New York Times and the L.A. Times both so often call Governor Sarah Palin Ms. all the time?

Could it be that they wish to subtly bestow as much disrespect as possible in their news stories on McCain’s VP pick without going as far as calling her a name like the sarcastic jab “Her Thighness” might serve for Hillary? Could it be these supposedly serious news sources wish to attack Governor Palin and they don’t think anyone will notice the slight of her marriage by the misuse of the title Ms.?

Let’s use the results of a quick Google search of both the L.A.Times and the New York Times websites to find keywords that might illustrate the point here. And let’s compare citations of Mrs. Palin with Mrs. Clinton to see if there is a difference in the level of respect shown the two women in the news. (Remember exact numbers change from search to search, but they rarely differ tremendously when searched over a short period of time)

Another Top SEIU Head Lopped Off in Money Scandal

-By Warner Todd Huston

Once again in as many weeks, the L.A. Times reports on a third Service Employee International Union (SEIU) head that has been forced to step down because of allegations of fraud and misuse of union funds. Annelle Grajeda, the SEIU’s top officer in California, has resigned.

Annelle Grajeda’s boyfriend is also under a cloud for being a recipient of misappropriated union funds.

For the full story on the particular allegations, be sure and visit the L.A. Times.

What we are seeing, however, is one SEIU head after another being found to be indulging in misuse of funds, influence peddling and fraud over and over again. There’s no telling how many more such SEIU leaders will be caught up in this new scrutiny.

But, it is revelatory of the sort of corruption that is endemic with the SEIU. This is the most powerful union in the country and it is being run by a man who has designs of becoming a leader of national policy for the whole country, not just for unions, but for all of us.

SEIU President Andy Stern imagines himself a leader of national importance, yet he cannot keep the sort of horrid corruption from toppling members of his own union, and members with whom he has been intimately connected.

Worse, it isn’t Stern who has been responsible for the rooting out of corruption of his closest associates in the California offices. He has been brought to it sullenly silent not as a crusader against corruption.

And this is the man that imagines himself one who should counsel presidents?

These scandals, however, reveal an organization empty of ethics.

Palin and the Power of Real American Women

-By Frank Salvato

It is the consensus among conservative new media pundits – and the Conservative mainstream for that matter – that the speech Governor Sarah Palin gave in accepting the Republican Party’s vice presidential nomination effectively put the Progressive-Left and the Democrat Party on notice. The double-standard hypocrisy demonstrated by the Leftist mainstream media on behalf of Barack Obama’s campaign will not stand. If the cowards of the Progressive-Left want a fight, they’ve got one…and it’s with someone who plays hockey. Oops!

I was raised by a good mother, no, a great mother. She instilled in me the critical thinking skills needed to divine right from wrong, good from evil. She also provided me with an appreciation for compassion so that I might understand when to “give someone a fish” and when to “teach someone how to fish.” My mother didn’t abandon me to the education system, in fact, I knew how to read and do simple mathematics before I was enrolled in kindergarten. She took seriously her obligation to explain world events to me just as she understood that at times it was more important to play, to enjoy life, than to allow time to pass without amassing memories to hold for my lifetime. She knew who my friends were, who their parents were, where we were and what we were doing. She was a responsible parent and to this day she remains a dear and close friend.

I mention all this because I grew up in a household where the mother was civically engaged. She was active in the school organizations throughout my academic career and that of my sister. She then moved into village politics and eventually ended a long and distinguished career as a senior staffer to the Illinois Senate President back when Republicans controlled both houses of the legislature and the governor’s mansion. During her political career she served as the Executive Director of the Republican Party for our county; the second most effective Republican county in the United States at the time. While serving in this position it wasn’t uncommon for her to put in twelve or sixteen hour days, coordinating, pacifying politicians, handling the media, you name it, this “jack-of-all-trades” not only did it, she did it well; better than anyone who has come since, to be sure.

Obama Lies About Signing Up for the Draft

-By Warner Todd Huston

Barack Obama told another whopper about his storied life on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos. In one segment Stephanopoulos asked Obama if he ever considered joining the U.S. military as a youngster. Obama then goes on to say that he did when he was required to sign up for selective service in 1979 when he graduated high school.

One little problem… there wasn’t any requirement to sign up for Selective Service in 1979!

As Tom Blumer of NewsBusters.org and BizzyBlog.com notes, “Obama could not have registered upon graduation from high school as he claimed. His actually registered occurred roughly 45 days after… registrations took place in 1980. Obama’s statement, that ‘I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school,’ is inarguably false.”

The Swift-Skirting of Sarah Palin

-By Warner Todd Huston

Apparently the media wants to get even for the Swift-Boaters successful torpedoing of John Kerry in 2004 because they are by the dozens every day promulgating lies about the career and life of Governor Sarah Palin. I recently posted a piece on the lies, exaggerations and misbegotten assumptions of a Baltimore Sun columnist and it got me to thinking to try and gather one thread rebutting the media’s ever evolving negative memes against this strong woman. From unproven claims of infidelity, to claims she is a book banner and a negligent Mother, the media have been smearing this woman daily since she stepped out onto the national stage. One recent Politico attack on Palin was made up solely of the claim that she was once mean to someone… yes, Politico actually was trying to say that their report was serious.

In any case, I’d like to present and knock down some of the swift-skirt attacks the media is launching. So, in no particular order…

SF Chron: McCain Voters Racists and Easily Fooled

-By Warner Todd Huston

The San Francisco Chronicle published an article on September 7 masterful for its underhanded back slapping of John McCain, Sarah Palin and anyone who would vote for them all while pretending to say how successful the McCain/Palin ticket is in garnering support since the end of the GOP Convention. Nearly every “positive” thing said about Republicans and anyone who would vote for McCain was framed as a negative and the way this article states its case proves as one of the most perfectly sly pieces of pro-Democrat propaganda I’ve seen in a long time. It’s so good that you don’t even realize your being manipulated until you sit back and think about the piece as a whole.

In this story by Chronicle writer Carolyn Lochhead, the headline properly elicits curiosity enough to draw the reader in: “Palin may woo blue-collar voters from Obama” it reads intriguingly. But think about this header. The headline assumes from the start that “blue-collar voters” are Obama’s to lose, that McCain doesn’t have any to start with but has to “woo” Obama’s. Negative strike against McCain number one. There are many more to come

So, how do we start an article about how John McCain will woo, or is wooing blue-collar voters? Do we start it by saying what McCain does that appeals to blue-collar voters? No, we start by quoting Democrats saying that McCain fails to appeal to blue-collar voters and that he is just like Bush. In a story that at first seems to be about John McCain’s success the very first paragraph of the story is anti-John McCain. Strike number two.

Obama condemns (wink, wink) sleazy politics

-By Michael M. Bates

For readers who might not yet have memorized last week’s column, it consisted of observations from the Democratic Convention’s first day. My intent was to provide something similar this week, but those darn GOPers refused to cooperate and held an abbreviated session Monday. I’m awaiting press reports that Hurricane Gustav was George Bush’s fault.

Still, there was considerable political activity. Most of it centered on John McCain’s choice of running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. I joined other conservatives in supporting Sarah’s selection.

The delight intensified by seeing how out of favor Gov. Palin is with the mainstream media. The New York Times’s Maureen Dowd criticized her because, among other transgressions, Sarah “has never even been on ‘Meet the Press.’” On ABC’s Good Morning America, the co-anchor posed this to a McCain staffer: “She has an, she has an infant with special needs. Will that affect her campaigning?” Newsweek’s Howard Fineman opined that “Sarah Palin makes Barack Obama look like John Adams.” Yes, I can certainly see how being a $10,000 a year community organizer offers so much more substantive governing experience than running a state.

AP Says Shame on GOP for Showing Palin’s Kids at Convention?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Apparently Ted Anthony of the Associated Press thinks it is somehow “contradictory” of the GOP to show VP candidate Governor Sarah Palin’s kids at the GOP convention on TV. He seems to imagine that, since the GOP objected to the media attempting to use the kids against Governor Palin, that the GOP shouldn’t be allowed to have the kids attend the convention to see their Mother accept her nomination.

Anthony’s “analysis” hit the nets on September 3, the day after Palin’s wonderful acceptance speech on night 3 of the proceedings. Naturally, the AP trolls our left leaning universities to find some “expert” to back up its claim that it is all wrong to show the proud faces of Palin’s children looking up at their Mother as she speaks to the convention.

“For two days, the chorus from Republicans on TV news and in the halls of the convention,” Anthony scoffs, “has been resounding: Back off and let the Palin family be. ‘That’s out of bounds,’ said Minnesota’s Republican governor, Tim Pawlenty. ‘There’s no need to be intrusive and pry into that.'”

After this, in accusatory tones, Anthony recounts the many times that Sarah Palin’s children appeared on TV during the convention. And then he goes for the supposed “expert” for his opinion…

Palin-Smearing Baltimore Sun Columnist Whines Readers Being Mean to Her

-By Warner Todd Huston

Susan Reimer, columnist for the Baltimore Sun, is shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that people took exception to her tactless bashing of Governor Sarah Palin in her September 1 column, “A woman — but why this woman?” In fact, Reimer is so upset that people where exercised enough to drop her a note, give her a call, or write an email about her baseless smearing of Palin that she says in her September 5 column that she feels “frightened.” Do you want some cheese and crackers to go with that whine, Reimer?

On Monday, I wrote a column criticizing the McCain campaign for what I saw as a cynical attempt to gather in unhappy women voters by naming Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin his vice presidential candidate and for exploiting the poignant story of her youngest child to appease the Republican Party’s pro-life base… And then the storm began.

Reimer was shocked to find that her substance free, lie filled attack on John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin generated “More than 8,200 comments were posted to the column on The Baltimore Sun’s Web site. I received more than 700 personal e-mails and about 50 phone calls.”

Even worse for Reimer, her gutter scraping column was read by Rush Limbaugh and Brit Hume and was linked by Drudge as an example of the outrageous treatment that Palin has gotten at the hands of feminist media elites like Reimer. Oh, the humanity!

One would think that a columnist such as she would be thrilled to get so much attention. After all, isn’t she ostensibly one who wants to see her opinion reach as many people as possible, people who just might per chance find themselves in agreement or — fingers crossed — actually persuaded by the power of her words?

Not so much, I guess…

Obama Gets A ZERO!

-By Dan Scott

The master of rhetoric, Barack Obama has been talking up a storm how he is going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans, create jobs with alternative energy and give everyone affordable health care among other things. The great Democrat gift bag is to be opened with something for everyone. Of course he is going to do all this by raising taxes on the rich and the oil companies. One would think by his effervescence and popularity that he has been a great success helping the poor with an impressive track record to show for it. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth as it seems Obama is as hazy as a projected image upon a screen. Without the prompts of a teleprompter and a fawning media, Obama is just an empty suit.

I came across a very interesting website by CORE, the Congress of Racial Equality. http://www.stopwaronpoor.org/home.aspx To my surprise they had a very Republican message for a group that is normally a Democrat Party constituency. Did anyone know they had a demonstration on July 28th? Why did the MSM ignore them? What’s their message?

An excerpt from Chairman Roy Innis’ speech:

McCain and Palin, Two Winning Mavericks

-By Marie Jon

While Republican conservatives were looking at Govs. Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty to fill the VP slot for Sen. John McCain, there was a distant buzz. Another name was floating around.

The day after Barack Obama gave his convention speech at Denver’s Invesco Field, which was brimming with tens of thousands of enthusiastic Democrats, there came a stunning announcement. John McCain selected the first Republican woman VP candidate, Sarah “Barracuda” Palin.

The Democrat’s big night was blunted. The airwaves were filled with the news of the newcomer who would be welcomed in Dayton, Ohio, one day after the anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Gov. Palin’s name would change the presidential race in 2008.

The Straight-Shooting Governor

-By John Armor

I wasn’t going to talk about presidential politics for a long while, especially since my prediction last year ago of a Giuliani / Hillary Clinton race, with America’s Mayor winning narrowly. Wow, did I miss the mark on that one.

Wednesday of this week I got a call from a young woman who said she was a pollster for the Democratic Party of North Carolina. After a little back and forth, I was satisfied that this was a real poll, and I answered her questions.

The fact that she didn’t ask any demographic questions at the end raised doubts about the legitimacy of the call.
