Yikes! CNBC Has to Apologize for Using Bumper Music With N-Word in it!

Financial network CNBC was forced to apologize on December 16 for picking bumper music that blared out the N-word as a show hosted by Kelly Evans went to commercial.

The song, Fizzo Got Flow by the now disbanded rap group B2K, has lyrics that are neither safe for work, nor safe for a supposed news network! The song is filled with “niggas,” and “hoes,” and all manner of off color phrases and those wonderful phrases were right there on CNBC for everyone to, uh, enjoy.

Not long after the commercial break, host Evans was effusive with apologies for playing the song “and for any offense that it may have caused.”

One wonders when CNBC is going to launch its “Bling” show?

OUTRAGEOUS: School Bans Kid’s Christmas Poster Because it ‘Might be Religious’

It’s a sales job, not a religious message!

It could be, it might be, it… isn’t religious, but the fearful authorities at a Minnesota school thought that a skeleton carton on a kid’s Christmas poster was “religious” and should be taken down.

The poster featured the cartoon character Jack Skellington from the Tim Burton movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas” but this didn’t stop the absurd authorities at the PACT Charter school in Ramsey, Minnesota from taking it down for fear of “religious” themes.

The civil rights advocacy group The Rutherford Institute has taken up the cause and sent a letter to the school warning them of their folly.

SNL’s ‘Black As Hell’ Santa Slams Fox News’ Megyn Kelly

Last week Fox News’s Megyn Kelly told her audience that Santa was a white guy and people should just get over it. By Saturday, NBC’s SNL had a message for America from “Santa Klaus”: “You’ve heard of secret Santa, well here’s a secret: I’m black as hell.”

During SNL’s Weekend Update segment, troupe member Kenan Thompson starred as a black Santa Klaus that riffed on some well-worn and prosaic themes. But even with the same ‘ol, same ‘ol racism topics, the segment did have a few funny lines.

When Weekend Update’s faux anchor Cecily Strong asked Thompson’s “Santa” if he was OK with people thinking that he was really white, Thompson said, “Well, a white guys taking credit for something a black guy did? I’m more used to it than okay with it.”

Militant Atheists Force U.S. Air Force to Remove Christmas Nativity Scene

An “offensive” nativity scene at Shaw Air Force base in North Carolina.

An anti-religious and anti-Christmas atheist group has forced the U.S. Air Force to remove a nativity scene off base property at Shaw Air Force base in Sumter, South Carolina, saying it “violates the Constitution.”

The militant atheist group called Military Religious Freedom Foundation sent a letter to the Pentagon whining about the nativity scene early this month. After receiving the letter, Pentagon lawyers became afraid that the plastic Jesus in the Nativity scene would spark lawsuits.

Little Girls Kicked Out of Grocery Store for ‘Offending’ Customers With Christmas Carols

These girls were told to can the Christmas carols.

Christmas is offensive. At least a WinCo grocery store in Vancouver, Washington, was afraid that a pair of little girls would “offend” customers if they sang Christmas carols outside the store. So they told the two tykes to take a hike.

The two girls, Ayla Bascom and Kaitlyn Manseau, started singing songs outside the grocery store including both secular and religious songs, such as “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Silent Night.” But the store managers got all afraid of “offending” customers with the songs.

“(The store said) our policy is like we don’t allow carolers or something like that,” little Kaitlyn said.

“I was like bummed,” Ayla said. “We were both depressed that we couldn’t spread any more love and joy and cheer.”

Liberal Says Santa Shouldn’t Be a Racist White Guy

Liberal Aisha Harris of Slate thinks it’s time that Santa Klaus “got a make over.” She thinks we need to make Santa a black penguin instead of an old, fat, racist white guy.

Mz. Harris tells of her early childhood where her family had images of a black Santa in her African American home but seeing a black Santa at home and white ones everywhere else confused her.

“Seeing two different Santas was bewildering,” Harris says. “Eventually I asked my father what Santa really looked like. Was he brown, like us? Or was he really a white guy?”

“My father replied that Santa was every color. Whatever house he visited, jolly old St. Nicholas magically turned into the likeness of the family that lived there,” she wrote.

But her father’s gentle explanation wasn’t good enough for her.

The Charlie Brown ‘Meaning of Christmas’ Show Would Never be Allowed Today

If you are a netcitizen of a certain age, you’ll remember the Charlie Brown TV specials. We all waited for them each year on Halloween and Christmas. It was always a highlight of our childhood years in the 60s and 70s. But if they tried to make heartwarming shows like this today the left-wing, anti-Americans and Christmas haters out there would destroy any TV network that tried it.

This TV cartoon special is so filled with traditional Christmas and Christian religious symbolism that were it made today the left would firebomb any network that tried to do it.

U.S. Post Office Celebrates Kwanzaa and Hanukkah… but NOT Christmas

The U.S.Post Office Holiday Stamps Flier

A new print ad for the U.S. Post office reminding customers about its wonderful new holiday stamps seems to be missing the “Christmas” part of the holidays. The ad features a Hanukkah menorah stamp, a Kwanzaa stamp and that wonderful standby Christian stamp… the gingerbread house. Yes, the Post Office just excluded Christmas in its ad.

The advertisement is a mailer sent to American’s homes to remind them of the holiday stamps offered by the U.S. Post Office.

As is clearly seen, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah is celebrated by a stamp. So is the fake African American “holiday,” Kwanzaa. But instead of Christmas being celebrated, we get a gingerbread house. Where is Christmas?

As the wags at Twitchy noted, “One of these USPS holiday stamps is not like the others.”

Merry Christmas 2012: A Light Unto All Mankind

Merry Christmas, 2012

“And unto you a child is born.” With that promise Earth was given the promise of a light unto all men, a light that will lead us to our salvation if only we choose to accept that path.

Even if you are not a Christian, even if you’re not especially religious, if you claim another religion or none at all, the path that Christ walked when he was born into this world is a path from which we all can all learn. It is one worthy of study and acceptance even if only as an example of a way to live. Christ’s path is, indeed, a philosophy worthy of consideration for it is one based on service to your fellows, love for all, and a suppression of one’s selfishness in order to pursue a higher calling.

What could be a better path, even for the non-religious?

So, as we celebrate this Christmas Day, the day meant to memorialize the birth of Christ, and as we head into 2013 let us all strive to work harder to be of service to our fellows. Let us engage in those random acts of kindness that makes everyone’s lives so much more fulfilling — not to mention easier. Let us remember to say thanks to those who have done something for us and let us offer our own works for others without expecting immediate repayment.

Let’s try and leave this place a bit better off than when we came in.

NORAD: The Story of Tracking Santa Klaus

Alright, kids, NORAD is once again tracking Santa’s progress across the world this Christmas season. If you kiddies want to find out where Santa is right this very minute, have mom and dad help you dial 1-877-446-6723 or visit NORAD’s Santa tracking website: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa since 1955, and it all started by accident.

It is sort of a cute story, really, but what started NORAD’s Santa tracking effort was a 1955 Sears department store advertisement from Colorado Springs — where NORAD is based — that informed kids that they could call Santa on the phone. Unfortunately for the Sears promotion, the newspaper printed the wrong phone number and by sheer accident that number happened to take callers to the military installation’s switch board.

When dozens of calls from little kids started coming into what was then called the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Center, the officer in command, Colonel Harry Shoup, told his operators to go ahead and tell kids what they wanted to hear. He also ordered to tell kids that they were tracking Santa across the world with their radar installation.

Colonel Shoup passed away in 2009 and upon his passing NORAD created a little video of the good Colonel reciting that first Santa phone call.

Today, NORAD enlists the aid of volunteers to staff the phones and operate the website (http://www.noradsanta.org/en/) to handle the thousands of requests from the kids.

The Kwanzaa Con: A Fake Holiday Created by a Rapist and Torturer

Every year I post a piece on the troubled truth about Kwanzaa. This year will be no exception. Note that some of the newspaper articles I quote are several years old and may no longer be online.

Kwanzaa, the purported “African” holiday celebrated only in the United States, is the ultimate politically correct holiday. It is little observed, even by our African American community, of course, but those that do celebrate it are wholly unaware that the faux holiday was created by a man with a very troubled past. For Kwanzaa’s creator, Maulana Karenga, has a violent criminal record, is a racist, and even a rapist.

Each year, with the onset of Christmas, we are treated to another gauzy, fluff piece about how great Kwanzaa is by yet another PC spewing columnist. This year, among many others, we find aggrandizement such as that in The Telegraph from Macon, Georgia with, “Annual Kwanzaa celebrations highlight arts, community and history,” and the Dallas Morning News with its titled,”Look forward to Kwanzaa celebrations with storytelling, music and more.” We even find such helpful sites as TeacherPlanet.com’s, “Kwanzaa Resources for Teachers.” Yes, the world is filled with celebratory lionization of Kwanzaa.

Several years ago, the Houston Chronicle got in the act with a piece by Leslie Casimir titled “Learning about Kwanzaa from the holiday’s creator.” This one, though, was a bit off the usual track of the how-great-is-Kwanzaa theme because this particular piece celebrated the inventor of the faux holiday, Maulana Karenga, himself. So, instead of merely celebrating the manufactured holiday, Casimir amazingly made a hero of the rapist, race monger and violent thug who created it! To Casimir, Kwanzaa creator “Maulana Karenga” was a hero.

Christmas Irritants Pervasive

Use to be during the Christmas season in modern America, if the individual wanted a little buzz during the holidays, they would slip a bit of something into their eggnog. Now, all you have to do to feel that surge of agitated surliness is to turn on the news or read about those turning themselves into the hind quarters of the species the Holy Family rode into Bethlehem in order to pay the assessed tax (an existential financial matter it seems fewer and fewer could possibly relate to).

If you think it is only secularists making an overall nuisance of themselves, you are in for a bigger disappointment than finding a lump of coal in your stocking Christmas morning.

For better or worse, the Internet is widespread enough that most are aware that there is nothing in the Bible compelling believers to participate in the celebration of the birth of Christ even though His miraculous arrival is documented in the pages of Scripture and that many of the trappings such as decorations and related customs now imbedded with meanings symbolizing the spiritually profound account have (to invoke a word of sectarian irony) less than kosher origins.

However, for the most part, Christians on either side of the divide have established a kind of amicable truce where for the most part about the worst that they do to their counterparts is to look down their noses at one another and snicker how peculiar or inconsistent the ones on the side of the debate opposite their own happen to be.

Christmas is the time of year when the thoughts of most Americans grow to be at their most devout. It is increasingly the time of year that the avowed despisers of the Almighty are at their most disrespectful.

Before now, the most culturally embarrassing thing to come out of the wastelands of the Garden State was likely Snooki and her Jersey Shore compatriots. However, it now seems even their debauched escapades have been surpassed in terms of deliberately thumbing one’s nose at God.

For decades, one municipality there has draped across a main street a banner reading that horrible bit of wordplay “Keep Christ In Christmas”. As has become customary, leftist subversives have stepped forward insisting that the banner be taken down to placate one or two discombobulated by the message.

For about the past two decades, those to the left side of the sociopolitical spectrum have made such a fuss over their hostility towards traditional American holidays and celebrations that the arising disputations have themselves become an anticipated aspect of the close of each year. It was claimed such festivities promote values so vile that these sentiments must be expunged from the civic calendar and the very names seldom mentioned for fear of irrevocably harming those not participating for whatever the reason.

Though not always cognizant of the epic spiritual and philosophical struggle taking place all around them, Americans can be a remarkably stubborn and independent lot. As such, a number sympathetic to the process of communalization have realized that they might be more successful in accomplishing their goals through a subdued gradualism rather than through sudden revolutionary upheaval.

The first of the remembrances of the waning year subverted by manipulative social engineers is Thanksgiving. This holiday is despised for a number of common liberal reasons.

For starters, it is argued that Thanksgiving is racist because of the hostilities that eventually erupted between Americans of European origins and the American Indians. However, such criticism fails to recognize that, at the time of the first Thanksgiving Feast, these distinct groups were at accord with one another over the blessings shared amidst hardships and struggle.

Merry Christmas, 2011

As 2011 ends we prepare to welcome in 2012 it would behoove us all to reflect on that promise. In fact, even if you are not the religious sort, even if you claim another religion or none at all, the path that Christ was born into this world to embark upon is for us all to learn from and is one worthy of study and acceptance. Christ’s path is, indeed, a philosophy worthy of consideration for it is one based on service to your fellows, love for all, and a suppression of one’s selfishness in order to pursue a higher calling.

What could be a better path, even for the non-religious among us?

So, as we celebrate this Christmas Day, the day meant to memorialize the birth of Christ, and as we head into 2012 let us all strive to work harder to be of service to our fellows. I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

I was checking out at a store earlier this week and as the transaction was coming to a close the cashier handed my receipt to me and said, “Happy Holidays!” I looked into her smiling face and asked, “What holiday?” She looked at me with a quizzical look and said, reminiscent of Tiny Tim of A Christmas Carol lore, “Why, Christmas, of course.” With a big grin I said, “Indeed!” We both knew exactly what I meant by both the question and the answer.

It is easy, as we navigate our daily lives, to forget about things that, in the end, are more important than the many lesser and/or trivial things that we elevate to crisis. While the attacks on our nation from nefarious forces, both ensconced in our governmental complex and from abroad, are important issues, and ones we should indeed concern ourselves with, many of us forget to count our blessing each day; we forget to be thankful for all that we have. Even in these trying economic times, there are genuinely more valuable and precious things among our immediate surroundings; things like family, friends and the many things held in common by those who love our country; by those who love life.

The subject matter we address daily on these pages is always of a serious nature; of subjects that present clear and present dangers to freedom, to liberty and to our very unique American way of life. The first of the remembrances of the waning year subverted by manipulative social engineers is Thanksgiving. This holiday is despised for a number of common liberal reasons.

For starters, it is argued that Thanksgiving is racist because of the hostilities that eventually erupted between Americans of European origins and the American Indians. However, such criticism fails to recognize that, at the time of the first Thanksgiving Feast, these distinct groups were at accord with one another over the blessings shared amidst hardships and struggle.

Merry Christmas to All…

Merry Christmas, 2010

“And unto you a child is born.” With that promise we lowly humans were given the promise of a light unto all men, a light that will lead us to our salvation if only we choose to accept that path.

As 2010 ends we prepare to welcome in 2011 it would behoove us all to reflect on that promise. In fact, even if you are not a religious sort, even if you believe in another religion or none, the path that Christ was born into this world to reveal to us all is one worthy of study and acceptance. Christ’s path is, indeed, a philosophy worthy of consideration for it is one based on service to your fellows, love for all, and a suppression of one’s selfishness in order to pursue a higher calling.

What could be a better path, even for the non-religious amongst us?

So, as we celebrate the day to memorialize the birth of Christ this Christmas Day and as we head into 2011 let us all strive to work harder to be of service to our fellows. Let us engage in those random acts of kindness that makes everyone’s lives so much more fulfilling. Let us remember to say thanks to those who have done something for us and let us offer our own efforts to others without expecting immediate repayment.

Let’s try and leave this place a bit better off than when we came in.

Holiday Reminder: Kwanzaa Was Created by a Rapist and Torturer

Every year I post a pre-Christmas piece on the farce that is Kwanzaa. This year will be no exception. Note, some of the newspaper articles I quote are several years old so some may no longer be online.

Each year, with the onset of Christmas, we are treated to another gauzy, fluff piece about how great Kwanzaa is by yet another PC spewing newspaper columnist. This year, among many others, we find aggrandizement such as that in the Journal & Courier of Lafayette, Indiana, “Kwanzaa encourages unity, reflection,” and the Dayton Beach News-Journal with its titled, “Kwanzaa observers return to deep culinary roots .” We even find such helpful sites as TeacherPlanet.com’s, “Kwanzaa Resources for Teachers.” Yes, the world is filled with celebratory lionization of Kwanzaa.

Several years ago, the Houston Chronicle got in the act with a piece by Leslie Casimir titled “Learning about Kwanzaa from the holiday’s creator.” This one, though, was a bit off the usual track of the how-great-is-Kwanzaa theme because this particular piece celebrated the inventor of the faux holiday, Maulana Karenga, himself. So, instead of merely celebrating this manufactured holiday Casimir amazingly made a hero of the rapist, race monger and violent thug who created it! To Casimir Kwanzaa creator “Maulana Karenga” was a hero.

It’s that “most wonderful time of the year” again. Children eagerly await a visit from jolly Santa Claus, while their parents try to squeeze shopping into a schedule already filled with parties, parades, church programs, and visiting relatives. Grandmothers bake dozens of gingerbread and sugar cookies, while rascally uncles down too much eggnog. Wealthy northerners travel to Florida to escape cold weather, while everyone else yearns for a white Christmas.

And the ACLU—that staunch defender of American traditions and values—threatens to sue public schools for acknowledging what all the excitement is about.

Each Christmas season is marked by a series of spirit-dampening stories of towns forced to disassemble nativity scenes, retail stores intimidated into requiring employees to use generic greetings like “Happy Holidays,” and similar Scroogish travesties. This year, one such story comes from Tennessee, where the American Civil Liberties Union sent a letter to 137 public school administrators, supposedly in response to complaints from families, reminding them not to focus on any one religious holiday.

Some may claim that this headline is a little strong. But if one goes back and studies history, one finds that Hitler also deemphasized the religious aspects of Christmas in deference to a generalized “winter holiday”.

This was only Obama’s first Christmas in the Oval Office. Yet the President has already tried to de-Christ Christmas in at least two instances.

It has come to public’s attention that the White House considered not putting up its Nativity display. Instead, plans were considered for a “more inclusive” Christmas.

G.K. Chesterton said “Religious liberty might suppose to mean that everybody is free to discuss religion. In practice it means that hardly anybody is allowed to mention it.” So in the vain attempt to feign a posture of expansive sensitivity, the Obama administration was on the verge of excluding those who had someone sitting on the throne of their hearts other than Barack Obama.

Public Schools Embrace Debauchery & Apostasy Over Christmas Music

Most Americans would agree that freedom of conscience ranks among our most cherished liberties. As such, the state should protect this particular right by almost any means necessary and reasonable (especially for citizens).

In California, an initiative has been undertaken to get a ballot before voters to determine the propriety of Christmas music in California public schools. Within the measure is a clause that would require schools to notify parents 21 days before the specified tunes would be played or performed so that students can opt out of being exposed to such material.

Those having embraced a rigorous interpretation regarding the separation of church and state will applaud the measure as a enlightened compromise as these voices will be among the first to point out that, in these swinging days of free thought, not everyone embraces the Christianity espoused by these Yuletide harmonies. One must ask then would the exponents of the unsullied conscience be as outspoken in defense of those wanting to be excused from exposure to more progressivist causes and material.

The Eventual, Perfect Gift

It was a simple question, posed to us in the Highlands Writers Group. “What was the best Christmas gift you ever received?” That question made me think deeply.

I discovered that gifts change as years pass. I don’t mean the obvious, that you get different gifts in different years. I mean that the gifts you did get, even long, long ago, change with time.

I was six in 1949, when the first Christmas I clearly remember, came around. We lived at 205 W. College Avenue, in Salisbury, Maryland. On the Eastern Shore, Salisbury was, and mostly still is, a sleepy little agricultural town. We had a chicken wire enclosure in the back yard that held laying chickens, one rooster to keep them on their toes, and a couple ducks. We also had a one-car garage no longer used for a car.

To my six-year-old mind, that was adequate space for a pony. I began giving hints in August for a pony and a bale of hay, come Christmas. To make a long story short, a pony was not in any way a practical gift. As I recall, my main gift was a bicycle with training wheels. But that’s not what I came to talk about.

The Good News About Springfield, Merry Christmas

A Christmas message from Adam Andrzejewski, Republican candidate for Illinois Governor:

In the coming weeks, you’ll most likely share time with friends and family to celebrate Christmas—an end-of-year festival tradition rooted in the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This Christmas, I encourage you to give yourself an extra moment of pause to take inventory of the blessings that have been bestowed upon you by our Creator.

I also encourage you to remember the brave men and women who risk their lives to forge our great nation, and those who have paid the ultimate price for Freedom in America.

It is quite likely that someone you know—a family member or a neighbor—perhaps even yourself, has been laid off and dealt with challenging circumstances as a result. In Illinois, the unemployment rate is higher than the national average, our former governor’s impeachment still looms in recent memory, and our state is hemorrhaging money from a massive budget deficit. In spite of the dark cloud overhead, I encourage you to give thanks and celebrate Our Lord’s birth with rejoicing. And I’d like to suggest there is good news in the New Year. I submit to you that there is good news about Springfield.
