Real Men‏

-By Nancy Morgan

Rush Limbaugh stated emphatically last week that “Real men aren’t liberal. And real men, real men, don’t vote for liberals.” Rush, once again, hits the nail on the head. And here’s why.

Real men have an innate sense of self that is not dependent on group approval. They have not succumbed to the sanitized, homogenized, and feminized version of manhood that the academic, media, and political elite have adopted. Instead, they have the courage to form their own opinions, relying on independent thinking instead of political correctness.

Liberal males, on the other hand, have taken the much easier path of allowing a group identity to define who they are. They have willingly adopted the leftists’ focus on feelings and emotions when confronted with immutable facts, thus allowing them the ability to retain the all-important moral high ground when those facts prove inconvenient.

Choosing Homosexuality‏

-By Nancy Morgan

Neal Boortz claimed last week that a person’s sexuality is “ordained in the womb.” Meaning homosexuality, as Boortz sees it, is not a choice. Though I usually agree with Boortz, I beg to differ. In today’s culture, homosexuality is increasingly being presented as a lifestyle option.

Science has yet to determine if there is such a thing as a “gay gene” which predetermines sexual orientation. Lacking definitive proof of hard-wired homosexuality, the left does what it usually does in situations where the facts don’t coincide with their ideology: they “deem” it is so. Just as they did with the “man-made global warming crisis” and the canard that second-hand smoke causes cancer.

Many Americans would be shocked to know that, to date, no scientific link has been proven between man and global warming, or between second-hand smokers and cancer. And no-one has found the elusive “gay gene.” The left has merely deemed that it is so, despite the lack of hard evidence. That’s the way they passed this years’ budget. Dems didn’t want to go on record voting for yet more pork, so the powers that be decided to forego the vote and “deem” the budget passed.

Osama Bin Laden Is Laughing

-By Nancy Morgan

Terrorists the world over are laughing into their turbans and praising Allah five times a day for the naive Americans who were responsible for electing Barack Hussein Obama as president of the U.S. And they’re giving a special thanks to the American media, specifically, the Washington Post, for giving them all the information they need to target the security agencies created in response to 9-11.

bin Laden is laughing because America’s political and media elites are doing his job for him. The Washington Post just gave bin Laden all the intelligence he needs to effectively counter any remaining efforts to combat Islamic terrorism.

I Discriminate‏

-By Nancy Morgan

I discriminate. All the time. When I see black teenagers with gang tats coming towards me, I’ll move to the other side of the street. Now if they were carrying Bibles, I might not be as worried.

If I play backgammon with an Asian, I use different tactics than I would with say, an Irishman. Experience has taught me that Asians excel in math and I adopt my tactics accordingly.

If I am going to pick a winner on Dancing With Stars, I’ll pick the black couple, hands down. As a rule, blacks just dance better than whites. (Can I say that?)

A Poll From Fly-Over Country‏

-By Nancy Morgan

Politicians increasingly rely on polls to indicate which positions they should take, which buzz words to use, and which segments of the population to target. With this in mind, I decided to conduct my very own poll here in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

Granted, I’m I’m no expert. But then again, these days the majority of “experts” seem to be consistently wrong on the issues that affect us here at the local level.

For clarity’s sake, I define flyover country as including the 98% of America that is geographically situated outside of the major cities, major media markets, and “the beltway.”

Obama And My Ex-Husband

-By Nancy Morgan

The continuing love affair the left has with Barack Obama bears a striking similarity to my short-lived marriage with my now ex-husband.

Like Obama, my ex-husband, who I’ll call Sam (not his real name) was a blank slate upon whom I projected all my hopes and dreams. Only in hind-sight did I realize that my perceptions and expectations were a product of my own imagination, with little connection to reality.

Obama burst onto the national scene out of no-where. Millions of Americans naturally assumed that a man running for the highest office in the land had undergone the necessary vetting and was of high character. Since Obama had the official approval of the media, he was accepted, without question or investigation, by fully half of all Americans.

Likewise, I accepted without question that Sam was worthy of both my trust and respect. Being a judge, I assumed Sam had been vetted and been found worthy. He had society’s approval, having been given the right to add “The Honorable” to his name. I accepted Sam’s label as fact, without question. And counted myself lucky to have found a man of such high character.

During the course of our marriage, I was loath to acknowledge any facts that were at variance with the image I constructed of Sam. (Just as millions of Obama voters still do.) I had invested my hopes and dreams, trust and respect into this image, and any facts to the contrary were ignored. Even when Sam started showing signs of ‘The God Complex’ and began abusing the trust of his judicial office.

On one occasion, Sam awarded $500,000 in a case that he had previously informed me was worth only $50,000. When I asked him why, Sam said, “Because L… asked me to.” L… was the plaintiff’s lawyer and Sam’s good buddy.

On one level, I knew Sam was wrong to do this. I was then faced with a choice of having my dreams shattered by an ugly reality or continuing to fool myself. I opted to compartmentalize. As in, ignore any evidence that didn’t accord with my earlier perceptions.

I had made Sam into a white knight, a hero, a man I could respect. To maintain that illusion, I routinely started ignoring the increasing indicators that maybe I had been wrong to do so. I ignored the growing disconnect between his words and his actions. I just couldn’t bear to have my dreams shattered. Much like the many devotees of Obama whose carefully constructed image of Obama would be shattered if they acknowledged Obama’s many imperfections, that are just now becoming apparent.

Very few men remain unchanged when given power over other men. When everyone laughs at all your jokes, pretty soon you convince yourself you are pretty funny. When surrounded 24/7 by yes men and the trappings of power, its only natural to start thinking you’re superior to others, that the rules that govern ordinary men don’t apply. This happened to Sam, just as it is happening to Obama.

It is true that power corrupts most men. It was also true, in my case, that Sam’s increased arrogance and his flouting of the law became secondary to my need to maintain my illusions. To admit that Sam was a mere mortal, a flawed mortal, was unthinkable. What did that say about me? That would mean that I was pretty stupid. That would mean acknowledging my naivete and gullibility. I chose not to do that.

After three years of marriage, Sam tired of me. With 20/20 hindsight, I realize he did me a favor, but that didn’t lessen the pain of divorce. It took another five years before I was able to admit and accept that Sam had never been worthy of my respect. I realized that my love for him was based more on my need to see the world the way I envisioned it instead of the way it really was.

I only hope it doesn’t take that long for Obama’s supporters to realize the same thing. Granted, reality is painful, but in today’s dangerous world, illusions are a luxury America can ill afford.

You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

-By Nancy Morgan

As Congress labored furiously to ensure that women have equal access to federal bathrooms, insurgents in Afghanistan this month launched a series of bold strikes on U.S. and NATO bases in Afghanistan. The Potty Parity Act is proceeding apace.

The Obama administration’s response to the upsurge in violence in Afghanistan? They launched an investigation into allegations that a number of American soldiers were responsible for the “unlawful deaths” of at least three Afghan civilians. This, despite the recent unanimous acquittal of three heroic Navy SEALS who were swiftly exonerated by a jury after being accused of, gasp, slapping one of the most dangerous terrorist detainees in the world. Who, by the way, the SEALS heroically captured. Thank-you, Navy SEALS. No update yet on the terrorist’s hurt lip.

Doing D.C.‏

-By Nancy Morgan

If you’re one of the unfortunate Americans that live in fly-over country, I have bad news for you. Our nation’s capitol is now pretty much off-limits to you.

Last week I had business in Washington, D.C. and planned a few extra days to re-acquaint myself with our nation’s history. It turned out to be the week from hell.

My first mistake was driving my SUV. The beltway encircling D.C. resembles a scene from Dante’s Inferno. Fellow drivers inside the beltway were just plain rude. All of them. As a result of being unable to change lanes, I missed my exit and spent the next two hours wandering narrow streets rife with ‘No Left Turn’ and ‘One Way’ signs. I started getting a bit anxious.

I finally made it to my hotel, whereupon I found that there were no smoking rooms available, despite my specific reservation. I figured if I’m spending $300.00 for a room, plus an extra $30.00 for my car, I should be able to do what I want. Not so. Smoking in my room would incur a $300.00 fine.

It’s For Your Own Good

-By Nancy Morgan

Since I’ve been otherwise occupied making a living, it’s reassuring to know that my government is looking out for me. In just the last month, our tireless public servants have proposed numerous measures that will make my life better and more worry free.

No longer will I have to worry about drug addicts being able to rig a urine test. The Senate is set to vote on a measure that would make it illegal to sell fake urine for the purpose of falsifying a drug test. Whew.

While they’re at it, Congress is also working on banning smokeless tobacco in Major League Baseball. Not only that, but Obama just signed legislation that bans the Post Office from shipping cigarettes, and the CDC is preparing to launch a co-ordinated 50-state anti-smoking campaign. This is just in case you didn’t know that smoking may contribute to lung cancer.

Who’s Your Daddy?

-By Nancy Morgan

Uncle Sam used to resemble my rich old uncle, the uncle that didn’t visit very much but would always be there for us in a crisis. Uncle Sam would take care of the things our family couldn’t take care of ourselves, like war, natural disasters and various other crises. But Uncle Sam is getting old and has decided he wants to move in with us.

Since a lot of us are living without fathers, this is good news. Finally, someone to take charge and guide us. Someone who will go to obscene lengths to make us safe and happy, full of self esteem and good little citizens. You know, kinda like Dad used to do before marriage became so, well, outdated.

It’s a very secure feeling knowing that Uncle Sam is looking out for our best interests. He got the lady down the hall to quit smoking, just in case they find out some day that 2nd hand smoke causes cancer. He got cars to use special gas additives and even mandated using biofuels so cars don’t pollute Mother Earth. It wasn’t his fault that the special gas turned out to cause cancer and biofuels are causing food prices to skyrocket. His intentions were the best, so you really can’t fault him.

Shame On Islam

-By Nancy Morgan

Americans wonder why moderate Muslims don’t publicly condemn Islamofascism, terrorism, and the hijacking of their religion by fanatics who use women as suicide bombers and babies as human shields. A question seldom asked is why Americans aren’t publicly condemning these atrocities.

The barbarism exhibited by the fanatical faction of Islam is beyond the pale, by any civilized standards. And while America waits for Muslims to step up and condemn these barbarians, we go about our business as usual, condemning instead the unthinkable practice of putting panties on terrorists’ heads, and the cruel and unusual punishment of including pork on the menu provided to terrorists incarcerated in Guantanamo.

The irrational hatred of the West by many Muslims is seldom questioned. Instead, a large segment of the American public has taken a cue from them, adopting irrational hatred as a political philosophy. By not condemning irrational hatred, we implicitly endorse it. Just as we implicitly endorse terror tactics by not condemning them.

Throughout history, communities, civilizations and cultures have learned by example. Take the growing number of teen tarts performing non-sex on their boyfriends. Thank-you, Boy Clinton. Take the increasing number of school shootings mirrored on Columbine. The examples abound. So why are we surprised when Muslims in America don’t condemn the murder being practiced under their noses and in their names? Because no-one else is. America is too busy trying to appear non-judgmental and worrying about what everyone is saying about us. For shame.

Tell me again, what religion is it that uses women and babies as cannon fodder? Why, its Islam, the religion of peace. I’d call this shameful, if shame were still in vogue. Its not. America is a guilt society, whose primary motivation is to appear non-judgmental and politically correct. The multiculturalist crowd has convinced a large portion of Americans that all cultures are equal. We spend our time trying to understand the unimaginable instead of condemning it. Meanwhile, the terrorists are laughing at our naivety, as they plot to kill anyone who doesn’t ascribe to their faith.

Debating Liberals

-By Nancy Morgan

How does one debate with a liberal? Sorry, under current rules, debate is not allowed. Just as our new national conversation on race is limited exclusively to authentic blacks, so is any semblance of debate with those on the left limited to those who accept the rules of debate, as defined by liberals.

Just as Boy Clinton redefined the meaning of sex, so have liberals redefined the meaning of debate. If your view doesn’t accord with the progressive, politically correct elites, the debate is relabeled an ‘argument’, your opinion is redefined as a ‘judgment’ and both are promptly dismissed.

By controlling language, the left controls and defines the issues. Hillary didn’t lie about being under fire in Bosnia, she merely misspoke. The rules stipulate that only conservatives lie. If you’re on the left, you’re either factually incorrect, mistaken or just plain human. Liberals call this a win-win situation, which is one of the few times they are factually correct.

If the member of the vast right wing conspiracy (conservative) persists in trying to debate the original issue, liberals then revert to personal attacks. Attacking the messenger as mean-spirited usually does the trick. The indignant liberal then has carte blanche to personally vilify the messenger while touting his own moral vitas. Very effective.

Are You An Authentic White?

-By Nancy Morgan

Are you an authentic white person? For the answer to that, we need to go to the current authentic black community. They are the ones who define who is and who is not an authentic member of their race. Be they black or white. (Since Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc., have not yet amassed political clout, they’re excluded from being categorised by their skin color.)

The reigning Black elite have decided that authentic ‘typical white people’ are inherently racist. As Obama so blithely stated, this prejudice is inbred and rears its ugly head every time a white encounters a black. For those whites who believe reparations to date, in the form of trillions of dollars, affirmative action, special dispensations and a color-coded justice system, have adequately addressed the shame of their ancestors’ sin of slavery, well, it hasn’t. We are informed that racial prejudice is still rampant in American society. If you don’t see it, its because it has taken the more insidious form of ‘institutional racism.’

Not to worry, Obama assures us we can change. Phew. Just elect him President, and by virtue of the moral authority inherent in his skin color, he will kindly inform and advise his fellow Americans, excuse me, his fellow white americans, on the proper obeisance and reparations due all black people. Oops, I meant, all ‘authentic’ black people. Uncle Toms like Condoleeza Rice, Clarence Thomas, and other successful black people who succeeded on their own merit are not ‘authentic,’ and most decidedly not representative of the oppressed black community.

My Husband, The Judge

-By Nancy Morgan

Living In Liberal La-La Land

As a child of the sixties, I was brought up in a time when there was still respect for America’s institutions. Be they banks, government, doctors, businesses, charities or churches. I accepted without question their authority, and assigned to them the respect due to the pillars and foundations of American society. I assumed they were honorable and above question.

Then life happened. Enron, pedophile priests, corrupt politicians, and the general politicizing of government and affiliated organizations. By the time I reached the age of 39, the only institution I accepted blindly and without question was the judiciary. The rule of law was set in stone. Or so I thought.

Then, along came Steve*. As a judge, he had society’s imprint as ‘Honorable’. He also had a sense of humor and a very nice physique. Best of all, he wanted me. Finally, a man with the two attributes I considered essential for marriage, trust and respect. We got married in April of 1992.

Steve presided over civil settlements in the Superior Court of ——–. Lawyers would come to him before trial on civil suits, to see if a settlement could be reached. Steve settled most of the cases before him, saving the costs and anguish of a trial. He would come home from work and over dinner, we would talk about the cases he had ruled on that day.

Warning: Democrats At Work

-By Nancy Morgan

Liberal Democrats were very busy last week conducting the people’s business. In the Senate, our dedicated public servants spent the week debating a plan by Sen. Russ Feingold to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq by July. Alas, the plan was a few votes short. After failing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Democrat) passionately vowed “The antiwar fight will continue.”

Meanwhile, in Iraq, several positive indicators show the tide may have turned. Due to the success of the surge, violence is down a whopping 80%. The Iraqi government is finally stepping up, having passed several key pieces of legislation recently. I believe this is called ‘political progress’. Maliki stated that Iraq has achieved stability and overcome sectarian strife. Good news, indeed.

‘The people’ the Democrats claim to represent were briefly in the news, as Gunnery Sgt. William Gibson, a dedicated Marine, returned to Iraq for a second tour. This, after having his leg amputated above the knee. Sgt. Gibson is but one of thousands of patriotic American heroes who have voluntarily decided to sign up for multiple tours in Iraq. Even a 26 year-old member of the Washington National Guard said he will be signing up for his third tour, this, right after he won a million dollar jackpot. True Americans.

A Letter From Fly-Over Country

-By Nancy Morgan

Last night I got together with my neighbors in Murrells Inlet, SC. By unanimous decree, they decided to appoint me as their voice. We’ve decided that I will speak for all of us ‘average’ Americans who seldom have their voices heard. You know who I mean, the ones you never see on TV. We’re all too busy working, raising our families, going to church and paying our taxes.

The reason I’m writing is to let you all know that we’re getting pretty sick and tired of the media, the politicians and the snotty elites who keep claiming to speak for us. They don’t.

A good example is all those candidates who say we want change. They’re right about that, but the change we want is to be able to voice our own opinions without being called racist, sexist or homophobic. Another change we’d like is to be able to click on the tube and not be assaulted with teenage pop-tarts, same-sex couples swapping spit, and sneering, anti-American self-anointed elites who give the US a bad name. They, most especially, don’t speak for us.

We’d also like to let you all know that we can take care of our own neighbors and families just fine without some fancy uplifting government program that ends up doing more harm than good. We don’t need welfare or subsidies or grants and we don’t need government schools frightening our kids about ‘global warming.’ Most especially, we don’t want our 4 year olds being taught how to put a condom on a banana or reading about Heather’s two mommies. Mostly we’d just like government to get out of our way. Oh, and we’d also like all those patronizing idiots we see on the TV to quit claiming to speak for us. They don’t.

One more thing: What’s with this ‘all politics, all the time?’ Even Fox News has somehow gotten the notion that we care about who said what to whom, and about what the candidates ate for breakfast on the campaign trail. Hey, it’s a good nine months before we vote, so put a cork on the eternally breaking news about the latest he said – she said. All that stuff signifies absolutely nothing to us at this stage of the game. While it’s satisfying to see Hillary getting what’s coming to her, most of us honestly try try not to gloat at the misfortune of others. (I’m smiling right now, but I’m trying hard not to.)

All Sex, All The Time

-By Nancy Morgan

American culture is starting to resemble a teen-ager obsessed with bathroom jokes. Only America’s focus is riveted on sex. All sex, all the time. From Britney’s panties, to Anna Nicole’s lovers, to transgender rights to forced acceptance of homosexuality. If a story deals with sex, it sells.

The focus on sex, while prurient and titillating, has wider implications that have been overlooked. They involve redefining the family and undermining marriage by de-mystifying sex, (under the guise of ’empowerment.’) From advocating special rights for transgendered under the banner of ‘inclusiveness,’ to same-sex marriage under the banner of ‘discrimination,’ the left is making headway. Helped by America’s appetite for sex and our famed tolerance, the gradual acceptance of deviant behavior as normal is becoming, well, normal.

Last week, Hillary took Obama to task for not being as enthusiastic about homosexuality as she is. “I’m more pro-homosexual than Obama” she proudly claimed. All Democrat candidates are busy burnishing their credentials by signing on to the radical gay agenda, which has extended way beyond ‘tolerance’ to outright acceptance of anything that falls in the sexual arena.

Take Yale University. This week is set aside for “Sex Week.” Parents will have the satisfaction of seeing what their $45K per year buys. First up is a trendy competition to win a porn-star look-alike contest. Then students will proceed to the good stuff, like learning how to achieve a state beyond bliss and the proper application of lubricants. This is called higher education.

Other sex news last week included the confessions of a kinky college professor who was almost strangled in an S&M session. He’s ‘deeply ashamed’ and ‘finally through’ with the double life he’s led as a kid. Expect him to become the left’s new poster boy for courage.

The Enviros Are Winning… Big Time

-By Nancy Morgan

Last week as the nation’s attention was focused on all politics, all the time, the environmentalists made major headway. Significant headway. Right under our noses.

Politicians, celebrities, businesses, scientists, bureaucrats, farmers, cities, the UN, our own government and even religious orders are accepting and validating the largely unproven concept of man-made global warming.

Corporations are jumping on board as they roll out credit cards designed to cash in on people’s worry about global warming. Allstate now cites global warming as the reason they hiked their rates by a whopping 42%.

Even farmers are cashing in by selling carbon credits to large corporations. Easy money. Cash for a ‘promise’ to cut down on ‘carbon footprints’. Environmentalists are using the threat of global warming (for the first time in history) to list species on the Endangered Species list. Cities are starting to get in on this act, by increasingly advocating a federal ‘carbon tax’.

And lets not forget politicians. “Politicians using tragedy to advance an agenda is a tried and true strategy. Paint the idea green and a natural crisis becomes political fodder.” Just last week, Sen. Kerry blamed the tornadoes that recently caused 55 deaths, on global warming.

I Want To Be A Progressive

-By Nancy Morgan

I am a practicing Christian, but lately I’ve been giving serious thought to becoming a secular progressive. The advantages of adopting this popular mindset are becoming more attractive every day.

Consider: As a Christian, one does the right thing, even when no one is looking. As a progressive, I can get public recognition, peer approval and moral points for my intentions. No need to actually do any heavy lifting. Very cool.

As a secular progressive I won’t have to worry about guilt or wrestle with moral dilemmas. I can now cheat on my mate and remain guilt free by merely purchasing credits from CheatNeutral. I don’t have to worry about recycling, polluting the earth or being an energy hog – I’ll just buy some offsetting ‘carbon credits’ from Al Gore’s firm. If I decide to have a baby out of wedlock, I’ll gain sympathy and government assistance instead of shame. There’s also a possibility Nickelodeum will do a ‘pregnancy special’, just like Jamie Lynn Spears.

Progressives have a very, well, progressive way of dealing with the messy issue of sin and guilt. My favorite is a very public apology (multiple times…depending on severity of offense) followed by a month in rehab to demonstrate sincerity. This route has the added advantage of accruing extra points for ‘courage’ and ‘insight’, to say nothing of media face time. Now, I am cleansed and free to sin again. Progressives are nothing if not forgiving. (Unless you’re a white Christian male.)

Hillary has the most experience of all the candidates – by far

-By Nancy Morgan

With the assassination of Benizir Bhutto this week, the focus of the presidential race has shifted. The new defining issue and buzz word of the day for presidential contenders is ‘experience.’ By that measure, Hillary leads the pack. Hands down. Her experience far outweighs that of all the other candidates combined.

Take Pakistan: If Hillary was President right now, I have no doubt Pakistan would not be erupting in violence. As a matter of fact, Bhutto’s assassination would most likely be spun as a suicide. Key evidence would be covered up, facts would be conveniently realigned and, with the help of the media, as in the Vince Foster ‘suicide,’ anyone who questioned the prevailing line would be quickly consigned to the ranks of the vast right wing conspiracy. Period. Case closed.

Hillary’s past experience would prove invaluable in confronting a host of other important issues facing America today. Recently, Hillary proclaimed that if she were elected president, the price of oil would immediately drop. Just so. Hillary’s past experience in the futures market, which netted her a cool $99,537.00 on a total investment of $1,000 shows how adept she is in manipulating the futures market. (That translates to a 9,987% return.) Truly astounding. I have no doubt that if Hillary were elected, oil prices would go down and America could go back to the days of the incandescent light bulb. Experience counts.

Looks Count

-By Nancy Morgan

Memo To Hillary: Get A Face Lift!

Let’s get real. For women, looks count. Always have, always will. Human nature made men and women from different molds. If you doubt that, just ask yourself this question. When is the last time you heard a woman comment on some guy’s cute buns? Or on his rippling pecs?

Men are more visual than women. That is reality. Many men are more likely to appreciate a woman based on her bra size than her IQ size. This is the way God made them. Men, even the new, feminised, ‘metro-sexuals’ usually learn everything they want to know about a woman in the first glance. If they’re smart, they have learned to hide this under a societally induced patina of ‘sensitivity,’ but you can bet your bottom dollar men’s fantasies don’t include long conversations, emotional bonding and sexual equality.

The picture of 60 year-old Hillary showing her age with wrinkles, crow’s feet and bags has sparked a national conversation about aging. Specifically, about aging women. Men, as we all know, get better looking with age. On men, wrinkles and squint lines are a mark of character. Graying hair is a sign of maturity. Older men are still sexy. Not so for women.

Picture Sean Connery and Madelaine Albright smooching. Get my point?

Saving The World

-By Nancy Morgan

Over 15,000 bureaucrats, politicians, officials, and assorted do-gooders from 187 nations descended on the tropical island of Bali last week for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.Their goal? To make a last ditch effort to save the world from the ravages of global warming. The aim is to require industrial nations to limit their emission of C02 to 25-40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020. This is necessary, they proclaim, in order to head off rising oceans, drought, famine, dying species, and, well, just plain catastrophe.

These noble shepherds of the earth are willing to have others make any sacrifice necessary to achieve their laudable goal. They are even willing to make some sacrifices themselves. Starting with the 100,000 tons of CO2 emissions caused by all the private jets used to ferry them to the conference. Not to worry…

Indonesia plans to plant 79 million trees to ‘offset’ the entire conference’s emissions. The European Union has assured us that they will be buying carbon credits on the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. And the UK? Well, their 40-person team will have their emissions neutralised through a central government fund. Whew..

It looks like this conference is being held just in the nick of time. Reports on the damage man is doing to the environment have been making headlines all week. AP environmental writer Michael Casey describes the havoc global warming is wreaking on nature: “More than 3,000 flying foxes dropped dead, falling from trees in Australia. Butterflies have gone extinct in the Alps, and giant squid… ” You get the drift.

Global warming is truly a crisis. By consensus. Peoples across the world are actively promoting their own solutions, hoping against hope that rational people will see the error of their ways and join this selfless crusade:

We’re Winning!

Question: If success in Iraq isn’t reported, does that mean it’s not news?

Last month saw the trickle of positive news from Iraq turn into a flood. Our troops, our allies and the people of Iraq are winning the war against fanatical jihadists murderers. By any measure. But curiously, the American media, the same media that gave 24/7 coverage of Abu Ghraib, Haditha, and the “quagmire” in Iraq, has suddenly gone silent.

Here’s a sampling of the astonishing good news out of Iraq in just this last week. News our American media either overlooked or relegated to a couple paragraphs – sandwiched between winter holiday advertisements and the exciting news of how presidential Hillary is looking:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, just back from a Thanksgiving trip to Iraq, said the recent surge of U.S. troops is so successful, it’s “history in the making.”

Nearly 6,000 Sunni Arab residents joined a security pact with American forces last Wednesday, in what U.S. officers described as a critical step in plugging the remaining escape routes for terrorists. That’s 6,000 Sunnis now working with us instead of against us. Very good news.

Neighborhood Christians and Muslims attended a mass to celebrate the reopening of St. John’s Church in Baghdad on November 15. Imagine that. Christians and Muslims celebrating together. In Baghdad. Awesome.

-By Nancy Morgan

They don’t call themselves feminists. They don’t belong to any groups or organisations. They don’t claim victim status, and they aren’t members of NOW or CodePink. They don’t have big bucks or political backing. They don’t have the ear of the media or the establishment press. They most assuredly don’t have the backing of the plethora of established human rights, civil rights or women’s rights groups who claim to be the voice of the underdogs and the champions of the oppressed.

All they have is their own experiences, their passion and their voices, which are raised in unison against the religion of Islam.

Meet Wafa Sultan: She was born and raised in Syria. She is one of the lucky ones who, though indoctrinated in Jew hatred, the Koran and the Arab version of ‘history,’ was able to emigrate to the U.S. and become a citizen in 1989.

To Wafa, Islam is not a religion of peace. It is evil. Mohammed was an evil man who proclaimed himself the voice of God. His word was law and he fashioned it according to his whims and enforced it at the point of a sword. Wafa condemns all of Islam. Not just the terrorists. Wafa calls the religion of Islam a “brainwashing machine” for 1.3 billion people. It is only because she was born Muslim that Wafa can get away with condemning Islam. If Americans dare to criticise the “religion of peace” they would be branded “Islamophobes” and shunned for not paying proper obeisance to alternate cultures.

David Horowitz’s ‘Restoration Weekend’ Gets 5 Stars

-By Nancy Morgan

I was surrounded by sartorial splendor at the magnificent Breakers hotel in Palm Beach last weekend as world class experts expounded on some truly frightening topics – our government’s handling of the war on terror, the pitiable state of Muslim women unfortunate enough to be born under Sharia law, and the consequences of a Hillary victory in 2008.

The Restoration Weekend, hosted by David Horowitz’s Freedom Center, is my all time favorite conservative gathering. Unlike CPAC or other well known conservative conferences, attendees have three days to hobnob with true conservative luminaries. To hold actual conversations with the likes of Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, Bill Sammon, David Horowitz, Robert Spencer, Fred Barnes, Michael Barone, Tom DeLay, James Woolsey, John O’Neill, etc. To get the inside scoop on the issues of the day in relaxed and elegant surroundings.

Pricey? You bet. Worth it? Absolutely.

My Mother Is A Feminist

-By Nancy Morgan

My mother is a feminist. A die-hard, take no prisoners, true-blue feminist. Armed with a hard-won PhD., she has made her life’s work the counselling of the transgendered, the gay and the sexually confused. Honest work in which she is passionately invested. The only fly in the ointment is me, her conservative daughter.

I am as passionate a conservative as my mother is a feminist. It’s hard to imagine two more diametrically opposing viewpoints. I view the current state of feminism as doing more harm than good. As undermining the traditional and family values that I consider the backbone of our country. On the other hand, my mother considers conservative values as outdated, invalid, and as having absolutely no intrinsic value.

I understand how mom came to be such an ardent feminist. Though I thoroughly disagree with her views, I respect and admire the courage and sacrifices she made in attaining them.

Media Ignore Success In Iraq

-By Nancy Morgan

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the highest-ranking elected woman in the U.S., was on a Fox morning show Thursday. With the utmost sincerity and barely concealed outrage, she described the situation in Iraq as, “A war without end that is a total failure.”

Meanwhile, in Ramadi, once considered the heart of the resistance to the U.S.-led coalition, Iraqis were holding a victory parade, celebrating the defeat of the terrorists (LiveLeak.com – Iraqi Unity Parade). Pelosi’s outright falsehood was broadcast widely. The parade in Ramadi was not.

On Saturday, it was announced that more than 3,000 Iraqi families driven out of their Baghdad neighborhoods have returned to their homes in the last three months. Again, this news was met with a deafening silence by the mainstream media. They were busy reporting on the Democrat-led effort to deny confirmation to President Bush’s nominee for attorney general.

John Edwards Is Right: The Two Americas

-By Nancy Morgan

John Edward’s finally got something right. There really are ‘Two Americas’. And the gap between them is widening at an alarming rate. To view this divide, one need only tune in to the mainstream media.

Topping the news these days are news stories covering such earth-shattering events as who offended whom, who needs to apologise, whose feeling have been hurt, followed by several ‘he said, she said’ controversies. After a commercial break, we get the latest ‘I’m Outraged’ sound-bite followed by the latest ‘crisis’ report, usually coupled with a demand for more ‘investments’ (that’s liberal speak for ‘taxes’), couched in moral imperatives.

Break to commercial. Forget going to the fridge, you might miss the latest cutting edge commercials, cleverly appealing to your wallet via your crotch. A few teen tramps with botoxed lips and pierced navels selling, well, who cares….

Back to breaking news. Half of America stays glued to their seats in hopes of say, a chance to see the latest ‘gotcha!’ or, better yet, a glimpse of Brittany’s vagina. Then, on to the latest nobody who lucked into his 15 minutes of fame via some usually dangerous, mostly degrading act. Fame is the name of the game. And fully half of America is engaged.

I Have A Dream

-By Nancy Morgan

Martin Luther King’s ‘Dream’ has fallen by the wayside. His ‘dream’ of having blacks judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin is no closer to being realised than it was more than 40 years ago when he first articulated his vision of a color free future.

Not, as current black ‘leaders’ assert, because racism is alive and well in America. But because the current politically correct orthodoxy has effectively banned any type of judgement. All judgement is now off limits. (Unless you’re one of the lucky few who does the judging.) Judging others has been deemed at best, hurtful. At worst, a hate crime. Thus, any reference which challenges the liberal template of race, such as, say, having an opinion, has become a social crime with very real penalties.

The latest casualty of this perverse policy is one of the world’s most highly regarded scientists, Dr. James Watson, who won a Nobel Prize for the discovery of the structure of DNA. The wrath of the left has descended upon Dr Watson for daring to opine that intelligence, IQ, may vary among different races.

Set aside the fact that his assertion may hold some merit, as proven by Charles Murray and Abigail Thernston’s ‘Bell Curve’ study. The fact is that Dr Watson dared to challenge the left’s holy trinity of race, i.e.:

All blacks are victims of racism
Whatever misfortune befalls them is Whitey’s fault
America is still a racist nation.

Dems Sabotage War Effort

-By Nancy Morgan

Cemetery workers are the new victims in the war on terror. Oh, for the good old days when bodies were piling up and they could feed their families.

Last week saw a dramatic drop in Iraqi death rates, a clear sign the surge is working. America, the Iraqi people and the cause of freedom are prevailing against a foe that would have the world regress to the 6th century. How does the media report this spectacular news?

McClatchy newspapers on Tuesday reported:

As Violence Falls in Iraq, Cemetery Workers Feel The Pinch
“A drop in violence around Iraq has cut burials in the huge Wadi al Salam cemetery here by at least one-third in the past six months, and that’s cut the pay of thousands of workers who make their living digging graves, washing corpses or selling burial shrouds”

In an effort at balance and to remind the world that Bush’s war is still, well, pretty awful, the article continues, “Even with less violence, many of those buried here are victims of the war, and the tragedy of each loss offers a counterpoint to workers’ worries about money.”

This is what passes for fair and balanced in the mainstream media. Ya gotta admire their consistency, if not their world view. Faced with the uncontrovertible fact of progress in Iraq, the media still manages to make lemonade from lemons.
