I live in Illinois, just outside of Chicago. I live in the state that incubated the political career of Barack Obama and for that, as a resident of the State of Illinois and a conservative, I apologize. But this puts me in a unique position to afford you a glimpse of things to come for our nation should Barack Obama attain the Oval Office, and especially if Democrats maintain or increase their control in Congress. I present to the citizens of the United States the State of Illinois; a working model that illustrates the consequences of a government run by the Progressive-Left.
In 2003, five short years ago, the State of Illinois went blue; not light blue or royal blue but Daley Machine, Chicago Democrat, Progressive-Left cobalt blue. For decades our state existed in a symbiotic political state; the Daley Machine Chicago Democrats controlling Cook County and most of the lesser “urban areas” and the Illinois GOP holding sway in the collar counties and rural areas. But the failure (and I believe cowardice) of Republican Governor George Ryan to take one for the party by stepping down before he was convicted of corruption, ushered in a dark era of Progressive-Left, Democrat political control in Illinois. Democrats now hold all statewide offices and control both houses of the legislature. This being said, everything that has happened since 2003 is attributable to Democrat and Progressive-Left action and leadership.

What a Democrat Win Will Mean

Michael Sandler over at The Hill has some ominous warnings about what a landslide Democrat victory next week will mean to unions and the economy.
Sandler warns that unions will find a resurgence in influence in government, especially with an Obama presidency.
With those obstacles removed, Democrats could quickly push forward with legislation allowing labor unions to organize without secret-ballot elections and a bill expanding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
Other possibilities include the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which would overturn a Supreme Court decision restricting equal pay lawsuits; a measure that would narrow the role of a “supervisor” for collective bargaining purposes; and a mandate for paid sick leave for companies with 15 or more employees who work at least 30 hours a week — all left over from the last Congress.
“I think they want to strike while the iron’s hot and grab everything they can,” said Marc Freedman, director of labor law policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The “card check” plan of destroying the ages old democratic concept of the secret ballot will irreparably harm the safety and integrity of employee’s vote on union matters. Instead of the secret ballot, employees will have to openly sign “cards” in public so that their vote is open for all to see. This will surely enhance union thugs’ ability to identify employees who vote against the union line in order to spotlight them as an “anti-union” employee and, therefore, to be targeted for attention and union intimidation.

Have you ever wondered about “community organizing” and the swarming “get out the vote” goon squads that the Left increasingly mobilizes for presidential elections? ACORN is one of the largest of these entities and has an extensive and long history with Barack Obama. It is one of the central players in the massive Democratic voter registration drives you’ve been hearing about over the last few months. What we are beginning to learn is that it is little more than a massive exercise in voter fraud and mischief of all kinds. Dead Indians and illegal aliens have long been a significant Democratic voting base in certain parts of the country but now that concept of electoral fraud has spread throughout the nation.
ACORN has long suckled at the public teat. It has rewarded such trust and expenditures of the public treasury by managing to get itself placed under scrutiny or investigation in no less than eleven different states for submitting thousands of fraudulent new voter registrations. Sen. Obama, Stand and Deliver!

The recent ruling by the Hon. R. Barclay Surrick dismissing the lawsuit challenging Barack Obama’s citizenship, brought by former Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Democratic county chair Phillip Berg, presents the genesis of a Constitutional Crisis. While Barack Obama’s refusal to satisfy the citizens’ request to validate his citizenship illustrates his unbridled arrogance and that of his campaign and supporters, it also exposes the fact that politics, at the hands of political opportunists and ideologues, has usurped the legitimate execution of the supreme law of the land; the United States Constitution.
Make no mistake. I do not support Barack Obama in his quest for the presidency. I find his political ideology to embrace a one-world ideology borrowing heavily from the Marxist-Leninist dogma. But, if in fact he is a legal and naturally born citizen of the United States of America, if he thoroughly satisfies the requirements as set forth in Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, then I will defend his right to be placed on ballots across our nation. My concern is not partisan, it is constitutional.

By stating that he champions an economic policy that would “spread the wealth around,” Senator Obama alarmed many Americans who recognize the parallels between his statement and one espoused by French Socialist Louis Blanc in 1840:

In defense of his statement, Obama, his campaign and his massive army of Obamabot surrogates have come out hard against those who are making the correlation between the Obama economic agenda and the Marxist economic model.
During a campaign stop in Richmond, Virginia, Obama scoffed at the charge that his economic policies were born of Socialist ideology and the Marxist influence predominant among the adults who surrounded him in his youth, calling the use of such “implausible” arguments an, “indication they have run out of ideas.”

Mandating a Perfect World

Liberal-progressives’ conception of social justice always requires the political state forcibly to impose some form of equality.
Social justice, in the catechism of the socialist religion, is no more than an exertion of raw power to force people to conform to what liberal-progressives believe conditions ought to be.
Forced equality was the mode in the world’s first socialist political state, Revolutionary France. After the 1789 Revolution, France was reeling under wild swings from monarchy, to attempts at constitutional government, to the rule of street mobs. Matters came to a head with the execution of King Louis XVI in January, 1793. The Assembly’s Revolutionary Tribunal and the Committee of Public Safety announced, “It is wholly necessary to establish briefly the despotism of freedom in order to crush the despotisms of Kings.” (quoted in André Maurois, A History of France).
What “the despotism of freedom” meant was the bloody Reign of Terror. The Revolutionary Tribunal, during fourteen months of continuous sessions, condemned thousands of people to the guillotine as purported enemies of the Revolution. Altogether, more than 70,000 French citizens – men, women, children of all ages – were murdered in the name of Freedom, Equality and Brotherhood.

When all is said and done, if Sen. Barack Obama becomes President of the United States, I for one will not be celebrating. I know the real Obama; he is America’s enemy, along with the party which has been bought and paid for by men like George Soros. He and other Socialist/Communist sympathizers hide themselves within the once honorable Democrat Party.
The specter of an Obama administration is foreboding. He is an odious person who wants to throw our country into Socialism. He is not apologetic for the truths he has hidden from us. Obama brings with him far left cronies and policies and seeks to usher in a new era of history hardly befitting an American president no matter what his race, creed or color.
America is on its way to becoming radicalized, infused with the philosophy and thoughts gleaned from Obama’s many anti-American friends. The unrepentant terrorist professor, William Ayers, whose dreams will be fulfilled in an Obama administration, is but one of these. Many of our youth will become foot solders filled with anti-American thoughts. Our public schools and higher learning institutions have become bastions of far left ideology. Patriotism is no longer taught. However, unionized teachers see fit to wear Obama political pins in the classrooms.

Price Of Olympic Gold Growing Too High

With the breakup of the Soviet Union and the alleged demise of Communism, it was assumed that the Olympic games would no longer be as much of an arena for showcasing the competing ideologies of individual liberty and nearly total social control. And even though East German woman with mustaches no longer quite raise eyebrows and hushed chuckles the way they once did, the Olympics are as much a battle for the minds of men as they have always been.
On the surface, it would be easy to conclude that the success of a country’s Olympic efforts would be determined by its medal count, particularly gold. If that is the case, the world is once again presented with contrasting examples provided by the United States and Red China.
On the one hand, China won the most gold but the United States won the most medals overall if silver and bronze are also factored into the tabulation. To some athletic diehards, though, it is only the gold that counts.

It’s Americanism vs. Socialism on November 4th

At a recent campaign rally, along what is called “the rope line,” Senator Barack Obama was asked a question by a young prospective business owner about taxes and how Obama’s economic plan would affect him, his family and his business. Obama’s response – his unscripted, from the heart, authentic, no-spin, off-the-teleprompter response – was something that would have made Karl Marx proud. Make no mistake, “my friends,” this election is about Americanism vs. Socialism, and little else.
As Barack Obama was making his way through the crowd in Toledo, Ohio, a young plumber, Joe Wurzelbacher, situated at the rope line (the pathway candidates take to-and-from the venue stage) asked Sen. Obama a pretty straight forward question:
“Senator Obama, I’m going to have a business that makes $280,000 a year. You want to tax me. Why do you want to do that?”
And Obama gave him a pretty straight-forward, albeit chilling response:
“It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success too. I think that when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”
“I think that when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.” There is so much wrong with not only this statement but this ideology it’s hard to know where to begin, but I’ll start with this: Senator Obama…it’s not your money to give!

Another Great Depression?

It looks as though John McCain is respectfully campaigning himself into the footnotes of history. Polls with Barack Obama winning by double digits are an indicator. So are predictions of a Democratic landslide by longtime GOP operatives such as Ed Rollins. McCain backers stand up at rallies to voice their exasperation that he’s not doing enough to win. Obama presents a clear, though hackneyed, message; McCain appears tentative and inconsistent.
Thus far, McCain fears that highlighting Obama’s relationships with ACORN and Jeremiah Wright – matters that directly reflect on Obama’s judgment – will lead to additional scathing attacks like the one from a black congressman comparing McCain to the segregationist Democrat George Wallace. So the Republican nominee, after reaching across the aisle to bail out Wall Street and people who made bad decisions, emphasizes how adroitly he reaches across the aisle. That’s a real crowd pleaser among Republicans cautioning that Obama, Pelosi and the other hooligans are bent on imposing socialism. The candidate is starting to make the listless Bob Dole look driven.

I found it absolutely remarkable that George Soros was lampooned in the Saturday Night Live skit, Washington Approves the Bailout. (1) This is because I had previously wondered aloud to my husband my suspicion that there might be more at work than what was being reported around the tanking of the stock market. While I concurred that Fannie May and Freddie Mac contributed to the crisis we currently find ourselves in, I couldn’t help but wonder if the stock market was being manipulated in some other way. Although I initially dismissed my thought as likely “black helicopter” the fact that the writers on SNL included Soros in their parody piqued my interest again. So at the risk of being labeled a conspiracy theorist, I’m going to jump on Former Governor Mike Huckabee’s bandwagon and raise the question.
Former Governor Mike Huckabee, already voicing this same concern, pointed out that the market has continued to lose value because extremely large sell orders are causing panic. One has to wonder, who has enough money, influence, motive, or all of the above to manipulate the United States economy in such a way? (2)
A quick inventory of people in the news who hate America would include George Soros (3) (a promoter of Socialism), Osama bin Laden and Al –Qaeda (they took down the World Trade Center), Vladimir Putin’s Russia (which is playing havoc with the petro-dollar market) (4), China (which owns an enormous amount of US debt) (5) and the Saudi Royal Family (which has the ability to manipulate the oil market at will) (6). What do they all have in common? They would like to see the dominance of the American economic system compromised and they probably wouldn’t mind a Barack presidency either. Both would help to usher in their alternate vision for America.

$700 Billion Worth of Vagueness

Despite what you read in the press, the $700 billion “Wall Street bailout” program granting the Treasury and the Fed almost unlimited and only slightly defined authority to implement the bailout bill is hardly unprecedented.
Most new regulatory programs are approved in broad principle by the public and by Congress. Legislative implementing language typically is along the lines of, “An act to create X agency for the purpose of regulating Y, with powers to write, enforce, and adjudicate all necessary regulations for the purposes of, but not limited to, Z.”
Such broad enabling legislation may call for Congressional oversight, but the real power always lies in the hands of unelected bureaucrats and the Federal judiciary, which will be called upon to interpret disputes over subsequent regulations.

New Evidence of Nancy Pelosi Associate Supporting Chavez, Marxists, & Terrorists

A Colombian associate of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is once again linked to FARC terrorists and Marxist Dictator Hugo Chavez with the revelation of damning new messages concerning Colombian Senator Piedad Córdoba that are currently being investigated by Colombian military officials. Once again we have a powerful American politician, this one the Speaker of the House of Representatives, linked to those attempting to institute Marxist regimes to our South. Why does the U.S. media steadily ignore the ties Speaker Pelosi has to Chavez and the terrorist group FARC through her association with Senator Córdoba? Isn’t it awfully big news that the Speaker of the House supports a foreigner that wishes to give more power to one of our biggest enemies in this hemisphere and to further the efforts of a decades old terror outfit?
Córdoba, who has worked closely with Pelosi on Colombian and Venezuelan issues, has been linked to terrorists and Marxists in the past and has been a key player in helping undermine her own government. Senator Córdoba is prominently mentioned in these emails and documents as attempting to create a “friends of Chavez” style movement in Colombia. This movement was also organized with the assistance of leaders of the Bolivarian Movement, a FARC sponsored terror group.

When does the right of having a job where you live become a euphemism for totalitarianism taking away your most basic human right of freedom of movement? An interesting letter to Barack Obama was published in the Toledo Blade. It cleverly reinforced the fear of economic uncertainty and offered a socialistic solution under the guise of government policies to get you to stay put. It has been clearly demonstrated that the policies of FDR after the stock market crash of 1929 prolonged the Great Depression in the US and by extension throughout the world. The Great Depression also created the fertile ground for Hitler’s ascendency to power in Germany and Benito Mussolini’s in Italy.
I believe there is an underlying insidious agenda operating in the phrase, “where they live”. Does it not occur to anyone that the one thing liberals have always feared the most is the mobility of the populace? The fundamental premise in freedom of moment is personal responsibility. If you undermine a person’s belief they are personally responsible for their actions and therefore consequences then such a person can be controlled. If you convince a person that their fate is no longer in their hands but a victim of circumstance, then that person will do whatever you require.

Toledo Blade Pleads for Obama to Institute Communism?

Maggie Thurber of Thurber’s Thoughts alerted us to an outrageous example of the media arguing for a communist state to replace our patriotic American system. Sadly, this is where we’ve come in the US and Barack Obama is sure to drive it further in the anti-American direction should he win the White House in November.
The Toledo Blade’s lead editorial on Sunday, October 12, is a seeming plea to institute in America a chief communist principle: the “right” to a job. As anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the Constitution knows, of course, there is no such “right.” Nor should there be. But this hasn’t stopped the Toledo Blade from pushing this anti-American notion and pleading for Barack Obama to take it up anyway.
Basing its article on the failed ides of FDR, our most socialist president, The Blade revisits Roosevelt’s showy, populist idea of creating a “second Bill of Rights” giving Americans a “right” to a job. The Blade calls FDR a “forward-looking president” and extols the unAmerican specifics of his plan as a solution for today’s problems, even making it seem as if U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is calling for the revival of this onerous new “Bill of Rights.”

Reasons Why No One Should Vote for Obama Except His Family and Friends!

Every person has a right to his own opinions but no one has a right to his own facts. The Obama facts that follow should limit those voting for him to his immediate family, a few friends, and of course all committed racists and socialists.
Like all sane citizens, I want the best candidate to win the office of President. After all, we are all in the same boat and if one end goes down, we all go down. After a thorough examination of the relevant facts, I cannot vote for Obama for the following reasons:
He is the Senate’s most liberal Senator and Joe Biden is the third most liberal. Some people have accused me of not liking liberals so let me set the record straight. I don’t! They have done more harm to our nation than the Communist Party (their first cousins). Liberals march and scream over the slaughter of baby seals in Newfoundland and destruction of the spotted owl but they can’t squeeze out a single tear for the butchered babies who can’t even raise a whimper of protest against their slaughter.

There has been much talk, both pro and con, about whether Sen. Barack Obama’s “associations” matter with regard to his qualifications to hold the office of President of the United States. This argument, this avenue of political discourse, misses the point. Whether or not Sen. Obama has associations with criminals, terrorists and other nefarious and infamous individuals pales in comparison as to whether he has been influenced by them.
We have heard the names of the people on the list of radicals and ne’er-do-wells that Barack Obama says he knows but doesn’t know; has worked with but hasn’t worked with; has taken money from but hasn’t taken money from. They include but are not limited to:
Williams Ayers, Saul Alinsky, Don Warden (aka Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour), Frank Marshall Davis, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Fr. Michael Pfleger, Rashid Khalidi, Tony Rezko, Franklin Raines, James Johnson, Nadhmi Auchi, Joseph Aramanda, Louis Farrahkan, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and Kevin Wardally.
While it is legitimate to question whether it demonstrates good judgment to associate with such decidedly radical ideologues, it is more important to understand whether or not Sen. Obama has been influenced – at any point in his life – by any of these people.

Long Depression was FDR’s Fault

I have for years been saying that Franklin D. Roosevelt prolonged the Great Depression with his anti-capitalist, anti-American New Deal polices. Looks like some professors at UCLA agree with me.
“President Roosevelt believed that excessive competition was responsible for the Depression by reducing prices and wages, and by extension reducing employment and demand for goods and services,” said Cole, also a UCLA professor of economics. “So he came up with a recovery package that would be unimaginable today, allowing businesses in every industry to collude without the threat of antitrust prosecution and workers to demand salaries about 25 percent above where they ought to have been, given market forces. The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies.”
Many people have been fooled by left-wing hortatory (or maybe whore-atory is closer) biographies for years. FDR was our savior, they claim. In truth, FDR was a failure in everything but the prosecution of the war. If there was no WWII FDR would have gone down in history as an utter failure.
FDR was the closest thing we’ve ever had to a socialist in the White House and has an utterly undeserved reputation. In any case his reputation for saving the economy is pure bunk.
“The fact that the Depression dragged on for years convinced generations of economists and policy-makers that capitalism could not be trusted to recover from depressions and that significant government intervention was required to achieve good outcomes,” Cole said. “Ironically, our work shows that the recovery would have been very rapid had the government not intervened.”
I’m glad the university set are finally coming to the side of reality and truth on this at long last.

Bill Fletcher is all about the wringing of hands over the corruption scandal of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and is afraid that it will get in the way of the upcoming presidential campaign. Fletcher, a long time union activist, pseudo “Africanist,” anti-American, and anti-Jew agitator, who is also a self described “socialist,”, and Barack Obama volunteer, was interviewed recently on the website of the extremist organization Democracy Now.
Little of what he had to say is of much surprise or interest nor is there any truth to it. It is filled with your run-of-the-mill psychotic hate for business and the U.S.A. like the content of all of his interviews. But, his lament about the troubled SEIU is interesting… maybe even heartening for those who wish to see the union curtailed.
