A Liberal’s Hates Mail, A Perfect Example of Leftist Hypocrisy

Michelle Malkin had a great post on Jan. 9th. It is one of those head slappers that fully explains why leftists are liars, creeps, and shows how violent they are even as they claim to be the “smarter,” more “civilized,” of the question.

Hilarious hate mail of the day
By Michelle Malkin

It’s been a while since I printed hate mail. You’ve seen one “Hey, BusHitler’s Asian whore, go home” letter, you’ve seen ‘em all. But this one’s such a prize-winner, I had to share:

from Joe Roppe
date Jan 9, 2008 2:28 PM
subject Crying Hillary

Michelle Malkin,

I bet we could make your cry for real. Force you to eat a hamburger.

I often wonder what will happen when we progressive liberal adults take back our country.

The adults will stop wars for oil,
Everyone will have health care.
Everyone will have a roof over their heads.
Everyone will have a voice in our government.
Everyone will pay equal taxes.

The Republican Party will be a quaint memory to tell our children about.

The best part is someday you will die of anorexia or choke to death on your own purging. That’s my dream.

Thank you,
Joe Roppe
Stevens Point, WI

For those who know me, the trouble isn’t getting me to start eating hamburgers. The trouble is getting me to stop. ;)

So, here’s the truly funny part. Joe Roppe of Stevens Point, WI is also the author of a letter published in the Stevens Point, WI Journal on December 31, 2007 decrying “cyberbullying” and lecturing about the need for “fostering an adult discussion” without personal attacks:

Cyberbullying is a tactic some people use to anonymously attack those they disagree with using the Internet through email or on message boards. It can include threats on a person’s life, sexual remarks, pejorative labels such as hate speech all of which are intended to harm others.

Since the Internet gives people a semblance of anonymity, they can act more aggressively than they would face-to-face. You should not reply to threatening emails or negative postings on a website. Even if you do, this is not justification for an unstable person to fly into a rage and step over the line.

Some of the posts on the Stevens Point Journal message board are patently offensive and come dangerously close to crossing the fine line between expressing their freedom of speech and committing libel. I can assure you that the posts following the publication of this letter will be designed to attack me personally instead of fostering an adult discussion of the very real issue of cyberbullying. Once you read the posts, the very nature of the nasty remarks will illustrate my point.

According to the National Cyber Alert System, you can protect yourself from cyberbullies. Be careful where you post personal information; avoid escalating a situation, document offensive remarks, and report harassing or threatening posts to the proper authorities. The Stevens Point Police Department and the FBI are good places to start.

A recent article in the SPJ demonstrates how cyberbullying can be taken to the extreme. Allegedly, a local resident is reported to have stepped over the line when a webpage on MySpace was used to request someone to shoot Mayor Andrew Halverson, and the home address of Portage County Social Worker, Danita Docka was posted including requests to kill or injure her and her child. This behavior exemplifies the need to stop cyberbullying. We can do this with laws we already have on the books.

Joe Roppe
Stevens Point

Yeah, see, the proper way to engage in hate speech and wish for their deaths is to sign your name like Joe Roppe did.

Sweet dreams, Joe Roppe.

Now THIS is a perfect example of the liars that are the left.

Clinton Wins ‘Popular’ Vote in NH, but Obama Won More Delegates

-By Warner Todd Huston

This is of passing interest and it brings up an amusing scenario that works to show how the left is filled with hypocrisy. Remember in 2000 when the left had ginned itself into a frenzy that Al Gore barely won the majority of the popular vote, yet lost because we don’t elect a president by popular vote? Since George Bush won the most Electoral College votes, and since that is how we really elect a president, Bush won. Now, recall how the left went mad that that Gore lost yet he got the popular vote?

So, here is the funny thing. Obama won more delegates in New Hampshire than the popular vote winer, Hillary Clinton. Check out the CNN delegate tote board and you’ll see that Hillary only ended up with 11 delegates while Obama got 12.

And now the question: Where are the leftists screaming that the woman who won the popular vote didn’t get the most delegates?

Answer: Because she has so many more delegates than the rest of the field combined, it doesn’t matter that Obama got more delegates than she in New Hampshire.

Result: the left doesn’t care about “fairness” and “democracy,” they only care about winning. If they can USE arguments of “fairness” and “democracy” to further their case, they will do so. If it doesn’t affect their case, they will ignore the issue.

Electing Obama a Slap in the Face to Muslims Everywhere?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Daniel Pipes did a little research on the question of Barack Hussein Obama’s youthful status as a Muslim. Is he one? Was he one? Was he a practicing Muslim, an indifferent one, not one at all? To Americans, this question seems rather ridiculous. Most would wonder why anyone would care? But, the answer to the question isn’t one that affects Americans. It may not even bother American Muslims. However, it may mean quite a lot to Muslims outside our borders. And, it might not be a good thing, at that, making our relations with the Muslim world even more difficult than it now is.

Here are the irrefutable facts about Barrack Obama’s relative membership in Islam as a youth according to Pipes.

In sum: Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim who rarely or occasionally prayed with his step-father in a mosque. This precisely substantiates my statement that he “for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father.”

Again, few voting Americans would find this childhood obedience to his Indonesian step-father of much concern. He was a kid, after all. Of course a young Barack would occasionally accompany his step-father who was a practicing Muslim to prayers… even if just once. Who could be in the least surprised?

This fact, on its face and in normal times, should be of no concern and should be meaningless in the minds of the electorate. It’s merely of general interest, but not in any way a decisive factor in whether one should vote for the man.

But these are not normal times.

Chi Sun-Times Photo of Frowning Bush Set Against Smiling Kids Over Education Issues

-By Warner Todd Huston

The oldest trick in the book in the “news” biz is to take a photo of a politician that makes him look worried, sad, or downcast to offset a story of how things aren’t working so well for that pol’s policies or plans. Well, the Chicago Sun-Times has used that ages old trick to lambast president Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” program by giving us the stories of several Illinois students that supposedly slipped through the cracks of the Federal program and using a picture of Bush with furrowed brow with inset pictures of the several students. Of course, their stories are expectedly filled with nonsense, but it is the photo that the Sun-Times really expects to tell the tale. This photo says “failure and he knows it” all over the thing and sets the tone of bias from the start.

The Sun-Times starts out to lower our expectations of Bush’s policies:

President Bush arrives in town today, primed to spread the gospel on one of his key policy initiatives, the No Child Left Behind Law… The goals are lofty, but the reality is jarring. We thought the president should meet some of the children in Chicago who are left behind every day, especially in our high schools.

First of all, Sun-Times, schools are run by the state and, in Chicago’s case, even the city itself has far more sway than the Feds due to a deal that Richie “King” Daley made with the State of Illinois. So Bush alone isn’t responsible for the kids “left behind” in Chicago’s schools.

The Sun-Times goes on to introduce us to a Denise Ferrusquia who claims that she can’t learn because she feels she has to “do learning on my own.” Someone should let this empty headed youngster know that EVERYONE learns “on their own.” There isn’t a computer upload that can feed education right into your brain, Denise. You have to make the effort yourself. The truth is, you don’t necessarily need a school at all to learn. All you have to do is read! (not that schools are unnecessary, of course. But her assumption is ridiculous on its face)

Then they give us young Mr. Brad Johnson who was shocked that he was not so well served by his Chicago school system once he got to Loyola University.

Clarification Letter #1

-By Vince Johnson

Advice to the candidate for President that I would vote for:

On a regular basis, you should hold a “Clarification Conference” to clear up any confusion regarding your previous statements.

Your sudden departure from the confusion generated by Presidential Debates needs further comment. You openly admit it was a planned strategy designed to focus attention upon where you stand on key issues. Your stand on the debates can be defined in one sentence: The qualifications to be President should not be judged on brief orations controlled by a moderator asking questions approved by staff members for each candidate.
Next you clarify your position on immigration. The Mexican border must be sealed off using wide water along as much of the Rio Grande as feasible and placement of well trained security teams and high tech surveillance methods along the entire border.

You then reveal that your idea about inviting Mexico to become our 51st state has a subtle purpose. At first, nobody will take the idea seriously. But Mexico has oil reserves of considerable value and beautiful coastal properties having great potential for world-class resorts and retirement villas. Their extended growing season and agricultural resources are exceptional. These natural assets afford exceptional growth opportunities that are no longer available in the United States.

It is not likely the citizens of Mexico would be allowed to have such a vote, but the extensive media coverage should encourage their government to develop ways to improve their people’s quality of life. This would make it more rewarding to stay at home than to migrate to the U.S. This is not the case at the moment, and one way to bring this attitude into the equation, is to invite Mexico to join the Union.

Ron Paul’s Racist Newsletters

-By Warner Todd Huston

The folks at the New Republic struck gold with a great article on the racist, sexist, and homophobic content of decades of Ron Paul’s newsletters. This should be a needle in the Ron Paul balloon… but it is doubtful it will dissuade too many Paullynuts. After all, the racist, nutbar content of his past newsletters fits the great majority of his follower’s ideology.

The piece by James Kirchick is very long, but it is well worth the read. go on over and pick it up at Angry White Man.

I won’t bother repeating the dreck in these newsletters, but here is the salient bit close to the end of Kirchick’s piece:

When I asked Jesse Benton, Paul’s campaign spokesman, about the newsletters, he said that, over the years, Paul had granted “various levels of approval” to what appeared in his publications–ranging from “no approval” to instances where he “actually wrote it himself.” After I read Benton some of the more offensive passages, he said, “A lot of [the newsletters] he did not see. Most of the incendiary stuff, no.” He added that he was surprised to hear about the insults hurled at Martin Luther King, because “Ron thinks Martin Luther King is a hero.”

In other words, Paul’s campaign wants to depict its candidate as a naïve, absentee overseer, with minimal knowledge of what his underlings were doing on his behalf. This portrayal might be more believable if extremist views had cropped up in the newsletters only sporadically–or if the newsletters had just been published for a short time. But it is difficult to imagine how Paul could allow material consistently saturated in racism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and conspiracy-mongering to be printed under his name for so long if he did not share these views. In that respect, whether or not Paul personally wrote the most offensive passages is almost beside the point. If he disagreed with what was being written under his name, you would think that at some point–over the course of decades–he would have done something about it.

It is out of the question to believe that Ron Paul could be separated from the newsletter that bore his name for decades!

Certainly, Paul may not believe every racist sentiment in these past newsletters, but he allowed his name to be associated with it for many, many issues and this puts his seal of approval on the whole mess.

As a Republican that has libertarian tendencies, I demand that Ron Paul remove himself from contention for the presidency. Further I demand that he resign from his seat in Congress. He is a disgrace to all Republicans and Libertarians everywhere. For a while I just felt Paul was a goofy, oddity. Now I see that he is a racist, nutball and a man like this is far more dangerous than I thought.

NYTimes Raises Obama Assassination Fears

-By Warner Todd Huston

I think we are finding our newest MSM mantra about how evil Americans in general are and Republicans in particular are. Mark this as an example of that with the fear that Barack Huessein Obama will get assassinated. This time the New York Times is raising the specter on their The Caucus blog in a report by Sarah Wheaton.

Today, in Dover, Francine Torge, a former John Edwards supporter, said this while introducing Mrs. Clinton: “Some people compare one of the other candidates to John F. Kennedy. But he was assassinated. And Lyndon Baines Johnson was the one who actually” passed the civil rights legislation.

The comment, an apparent reference to Senator Barack Obama, is particularly striking given documented fears among blacks that Mr. Obama will be assassinated if elected.

This is an obvious attempt to pump up Obama by an MSM who is starting to feel that their choice, Hillary, is wounded. I think the MSM is trying to switch candidates by raising Obama up to mythic status. These faux assassination fears are built on equating Obama with Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. — but more often Kennedy. This sort of thing elevates Obama to the hero status that the left heaps upon Bobbie as well as serving to fan the all-Americans-are-racists talking point that the left is so in love with.

Keep an eye out for this MSM meme. I have seen it several times of late, so it is spreading throughout the MSM for sure. (see my previous report on a Huffington Post Obama assassination story.)

‘Iron My Shirt’: Media Fooled By Radio Stunters at Hillary Stop

-By Warner Todd Huston

Isn’t the Internet wonderful? It wasn’t long before folks in the conservative blogosphere uncovered the fact that the “Iron my Shirt” guys that disrupted yesterday’s Hillary campaign stop in Salem, New Hampshire are radio geeks trying to create a radio stunt. Just about every major news outlet reported the stunt as a real political protest. Only one of them bothered to look into the thing to try and track down the real motivation of the disrupters.

The AP reported it straight and their report was typical of most other MSM outlets.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign stop was interrupted Monday when two men stood in the crowd and began screaming, “Iron my shirt!” during one of her final appearances before the New Hampshire primary.

Clinton, a former first lady running to become the nation’s first female president, laughed at the seemingly sexist protest that suggested a woman’s place is doing the laundry and not running the country.

“Ah, the remnants of sexism — alive and well,” Clinton said to applause in a school auditorium.

More are like the Houston Chronicle who proclaims that “Clinton brushes off sexist taunts” as if she did something wonderful.

The New York Daily News actually did some old fashioned reporting and tracked down the two disrupter’s names, though. On their news blog called Mouth of the Potomac, Michael McAuliff gives us the scoop.

We followed.to ask what the heck they were thinking.

Nick Gemelli, who is 21, and born at least a decade after “iron my shirts” was an anti-women’s rights slogan, didn’t have much of a rationale. “I just don’t think a woman should be President,” he said.

At least he got some attention. His friend — a la Bart Simpson — said his name was Hugh Jas, but The Mouth later learned that his real name is Adolfo Gonzalez Jr.

So far, the Daily News is the only one that I have seen go farther than just reporting the incident.

Then from the folks over at HotAir.com, we get some further sleuthing. After some speculating that it might have been a Hillary plant, the tipseters at HotAir tracked down the truth. It’s a simple radio stunt.

It turns out the guys who the Daily News named work for Boston station WBCN 104.1 FM, and are members of the Toucher and Rich Show.

So much for real political protesting, eh? But it amuses me that few news outlets bothered to do the leg work to find all this out and went ahead to report this incident like it was legitimate. It did give the MSM a chance to show Hillary looking PC by claiming she was being confronted by examples of “sexism” run wild, though. So, maybe that is why they didn’t want to look into it too hard. It would destroy the illusion of Hillary’s “strength” and place the focus on a radio stunt.

And now we must chastise too many on the right who imagined right away that this was a Hillary plant. It appears it was not. But I suppose one can be excused for thinking so at first for all Hillary’s own exposed past stunts! It has become so expected of her, she has lied so very often after all.

CBS/WaPost Trots our Has Been McGovern: ‘Impeach Bush,’ ‘Worse Than Nixon’

-By Warner Todd Huston

Will the MSM ever give up their quest to get Bush and Cheney impeached? Seemingly, no. And this time they have trotted out one of the biggest most, irrelevant losers in American electoral history like a performing monkey ready to sing impeachment to the MSM’s organ grinding tune. The Washington Post rolls out George McGovern to beat the impeachment drum making fools of themselves doing it. McGovern gives us all the boring, ridiculous tropes of American defeatism that the left has mired themselves in since their loss in 2000, but he adds a new one to the list when he says that Bush is “worse than Nixon.”

Not content just to let the WaPost give McGovern his platform, CBS uses McGovern’s blather as a launching pad for their own advancement of the impeachment idea.

The former Democratic nominee for president who ran against a president later driven from office under threat of impeachment, today said that impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney is “the rightful course for an American patriot.”

McGovern using the word “patriot” is nothing short of obscene.

CBS goes on to quote more from McGovern’s Washington Post editorial that he thinks “Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses,” and that…

“They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time. Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world. These are truly ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ to use the constitutional standard.”

Oh, brother. Can anyone take this stuff seriously? Apparently, though, CBS thought it was worthy to report on and that is even sadder than this aging relic of the failed counter culture days imagining that he is still relevant.

Democracy Without Liberty Is Just Authority

-By Frank Salvato

Benazir Bhutto’s assassination is probably one of the most serious events that has happened since the attacks of September 11, 2001. She represented a move toward a Pakistan governed by political process and away from government by military rule. Truth be told, the only true stabilizing force in Pakistan is its military. It is for this reason that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was so reluctant to relinquish his military commission, a move he made in deference to his exclusively civilian role. To be sure, Bhutto was no angel but she was certainly a more attractive choice in an unattractive field.

We Americans have an extremely bad habit of looking at other nations and foreign cultures through a uniquely American understanding. We see a Pakistani military and comprehend it using the knowledge we have of our own military. We know our military to be separate from our political structure where it comes to government. We realize that the US military is extremely well disciplined and trained to a superior level. We have come to accept that when our armed forces are tasked with a mission – and when we are bright enough to keep politicians from interfering with that mission – the US military can be counted on to be successful 100% of the time. This, although a truth for the United States military, cannot be said for all militaries around the world.

In Pakistan the military is embedded into the governmental process. It has been this way ever since the country’s creation in the independence of India from Britain. While there have been democratically elected leaders in Pakistan there have also been military coups. Pervez Musharraf was brought to power by military coup and has, since, tried to walk a fine line between military rule and political rule.

What Does the Progressive Left Stand For?

-By Nancy Salvato

I’ve come to the conclusion that the United States is having a midlife crisis, an identity crisis. And this is a huge problem because if we don’t know who we are, what we stand for, or how we arrived here, how can we know how to navigate the 21st century while maintaining the freedom and standard of living we’ve come to take for granted?

US detractors (and there are many living within the boundaries of this country), it would seem, do not possess a very thorough understanding of our founding documents, the thinking from which they’re derived, or the importance of these ideas in maintaining the system of government which has served us so well over the past 200+ years. Much of the thinking on the Progressive Left echoes Socialist and Communist ideology, which historical records have shown to be enemies of freedom and creativity, two rights which I imagine if the Progressive Left were to be queried, they would admit are extremely important to them. The breakdown is that these people don’t have the surplus of information necessary to understand the repercussions of what they are seeking. How does the Progressive Left stack up?

China
In the politically repressive society of China, where there is no freedom of religion, the CPC endorses Confucianism, which “emphasizes obedience to authority, submission of the individual to government, the family, and elders, and unquestioning acceptance of tradition…Lu Xun attacked Confucianism as an oppressive and hypocritical morality thinly concealing and encouraging exploitation, injustice, inequality, passivity, and conformity.”

The Man of the Year Award: Insult or Accolade?

-By Warner Todd Huston

What is it that you first think of when someone tells you that a celebrity or famous person has been named the man of the year? That first thing you think of is that the celebrated person had done something great to be named the man of the year, is it not? And isn’t it the general expectation that the “great” thing equates to a great and
good
thing? After all, why celebrate someone who did something bad as a man of the year?

Good question and one we should ask Time Magazine for Time seems not to grasp that celebrating the good is, well, a good idea.

The man of the year for 2008 is Vladimr Putin, the man who has nearly single handedly has sent Russia back into the arms of a totalitarian government. A man who is responsible for killing the nascent democracy budding in Russia and sent it back into oppression. A man who stands n the precipice of an internal war that could easily turn violent as the various powerful factions in Russia begin to confront a post Putin era, this is the man that Time celebrates on their cover for 2007.

In fact, Time has been making the mistake of celebrating the non-celebratory actions of the infamous for quite some time. First, though, we need to clear up what infamous means as, apparently, some seem to have forgotten the definition of the word.

Infamous – 1: having a reputation of the worst kind: notoriously evil

This definition certainly describes at least seven of the choices for Time Magazine’s man of the year since they started the list in 1927.

Do we really understand Democrats?

-By Dan Scott

For all the troubles that are going on in the world today, does it not strike you as odd that the Democrat Party borders on isolationism to the point of being obtuse to world affairs? What do the Democrat candidates for president say regarding foreign policy? They say we need to talk to our enemies to achieve world peace, in other words, “Let the UN handle it.” They object to the use of the US military for operations such as Iraq, Iran and to some extent Afghanistan, yet not for Darfur. In the eight years of the Clinton co-presidency, military action was limited to a brief flirtation with Somalia in which we ran away at the first sign of trouble instead of a forceful response, Kosovo where we maintained a peace keeping operation, and launched a few missiles into the desert in retaliation for terrorist attacks to placate the public. Why this withdrawal from world affairs when it comes to confronting enemies who literally and repeatedly killed Americans?

During the eight years of the Clinton co-presidency, the military budget did not keep pace with inflation and was repeatedly raided with hidden social programs diverting spending from readiness. Additionally, we were treated to Welfare Reform that supposedly reduced the rolls of people deriving their income from the Federal Treasury, yet all the while they were touting the reduced Welfare rolls, social spending continued to increase and the people dependent on them increased, not decreased!

Here are some links to social programs from the EIC to Food Stamps showing the ever increasing cost to the Federal Treasury, i.e. your pocket book.

More Union Violence in Somerville

-By Warner Todd Huston

We reported about some union violence in Somerville, Mass. a few days ago, and now here is an update.

Charles Carneglia, owner of Russell Disposal, claimed to the Somerville News that union members who have been picketing his place of business drew a gun and a knife on him. He says he pulled his own gun and they backed off. While I won’t necessarily believe this story must be true, it wouldn’t be too surprising if it were. Not after the violence that union members have been responsible for in this case.

In fact, more union members were arrested by police for disorderly conduct as they picketed the disposal service last Thursday.

According to the Somerville News:

Close to 100 Teamsters from Local 25 and 70 police officers dressed in riot gear with wooden sticks in hand pushed each other back and forth as police removed the padlock from the gate. Minor scuffles broke out in the crowd and 10 Teamsters were arrested “for rude, offensive and threatening conduct,” according to police.

The situation, though, is telling. The union continues to harass this business and its employees even though the majority of those same employees rejected union representation in a vote not long ago. The voting down of the union was by “a wide margin” according to reports.

Yet, still, this union continues to harass everyone at Russell Disposal, despite what the voice of the “little man” told the union to go do with their representation!

Yeah, them thar union fellers is all about “democracy,” ain’t they?

Third Open Letter to the Presidential Candidate I’d Vote For

-By Vince Johnson

Dear Sir/Ms/Mrs._____________________________________________
In review: In my first letter I suggested you walk out during a nit picky debate and announce a press conference on the Mexican border near Del Rio, Texas. At Del Rio you explained what you plan to do about immigration and announced your third conference at Santiam High in Mill City, Oregon. At the third conference you make a short speech before an audience of students, and teachers at Santiam High School:

“Last week I discussed my plans about immigration. This week I will state my position on education. Each student in this room is nearing a decision point that will affect their life as long as they live. Those desiring to have a meaningful and successful career have two basic choices. You can serve your country in any of many trades and professions. Or you can serve your country in the armed forces.

“In 2006, $1.4 billion tax dollars were spent on advertising designed to persuade you to enlist in the armed forces. Once you enlist, more billions are spent to feed you, cloth you, fix your teeth, treat you when you are ill, and on and on. Beyond that, more billions will be spent to train you in a wide variety of technologies and essential skills. And beyond that, billions and billions more are spent on military assets that you might operate, navigate, repair, maintain, and so on.

“To repeat: You have two options. You can serve your country in the armed forces, or you can serve your country in any of the thousands of trades and professions. Keep in mind that either choice is honorable and absolutely necessary. If you choose to join the armed forces the government pays you and gives you everything you need If you choose a career in one of the trades or professions, you might qualify for a loan from the government, otherwise you are on your own. This is not a wisecrack. This is fact.

Conspiracy Theory Du Jour ‘Haliburton’ or ‘Blackwater’ Will Assassinate Obama

-By Warner Todd Huston

Want some old fashioned black helicopter, conspiracy goofiness? Check out the frenzied work of HufPoster Joseph Palmero who imagines that if Obama becomes president members of Blackwater security services or Haliburton would somehow decide to assassinate him. After reading his wild-eyed musings, one wonders if the foam from his mouth short circuited his keyboard as he wrote?

In an effort to equate Obama’s rather empty rhetoric and lack of a substantive record to what Palmero imagines his lefty pals will imagine is “greatness,” Palmero tries to work in some equating of the junior Senator from Illinois with Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign for the Dem nomination for president in 1968. Saying that Obama “struck similar chords” as Kennedy, Palmero waxes poetic about how it “took forty years” to see another Kennedyesque candidate.

But there was another, more sinister aspect of the Kennedy run that Palmero wanted to exploit with his piece. That aspect is the promise of a Kennedy panacea that was cut so short by an assassin’s bullet. Absurdly, Palmero seems to expect the same to happen to Barack Hussein Obama.

Here’s the wind up…

In 1968, when Kennedy was gaining momentum and piling up primary victories it looked as though he would win the presidential nomination. But before he could be safely ensconced inside “the bubble” of 24-hour federal protection he was assassinated. And his progressive challenge to the war in Vietnam and to poverty at home was stopped in its tracks.

In 2008, Obama is gaining momentum, and hopefully people inside his organization are cognizant of the fact that he constitutes a very real threat to the likes of Blackwater, Dyncorps, Halliburton, and the hundreds of other private companies currently profiteering from the Iraq occupation.

Uh, Oh. It’s the greatest evil known to leftism, Haliburton, creeping in from the depths of hell to silence our great dark promise! The dastardly Blackwater and those henchmen of evil in Dynacorps are lurking about, too! Garsh.

And why would they be such a threat to Barack “the magic negro” (as Rush Limbaugh so amusingly popularized the name for him last year)? It’s because Blackwater is run by a “right-wing Christian nationalist” and because they stand to “lose big time” with an Obama presidency, of course.

MSM Ignores Another Hillary Lie

-By Warner Todd Huston

OK, this one really does serve as a perfect example of the MSM’s covering for Hillary’s shifty behavior. As I tell you this tale, imagine for yourself how the MSM would treat such a story if the same should have been perpetrated by a Republican candidate. It’s the story of a fake “coincidence” at one of Hillary’s Iowa appearances, one that was so painfully obvious by its complete manufacturing that it amazes any sane person that team Hillary was seriously trying to claim that the incident was a true occurrence and not a fake, manufactured campaign “happening.”

It seems that Hillary was “coincidentally” asked by a “spontaneous” supporter if she were a Christian at her appearance in Donnellson, Iowa on the 23rd. This “coincidence” was right after our friendly Baptist Minister, Mike Huckabee, so famously rallied the religious folk to his side at the GOP Iowa caucus.

Amazing how the “religious” question so “coincidentally” came up, eh?

So, to this our intrepid Mz. Inevitability said that she was a “practicing Methodist” and went on to say, “I’m often asked if I’m a praying person, and I am a praying person. My father prayed at his bedside every night and we prayed at the table over dinner.”

It’tnnat sweet?

But then something really “coincidental” occurred. Who but should have “coincidentally” been right there in attendance at Hillary’s Iowa campaign stop where all these questions of religious issues came up but Hilalry’s childhood Sunday-school teacher, Rosalie Bentzinger. Yes, she stopped by quite “coincidentally” on her way to church in Park Ridge, Illinois!

A Riot that Isn’t A Riot – When Unions Go Wild

-By Warner Todd Huston

OK, so you are a business trying to stave off union thugs and, instead of acting like civilized adults, the thugs put an unauthorized padlock on your driveway gate and then park a trailer in front of the entrance so that your trucks cannot enter or leave the premisses. Then, when the police come to try and restore order, the unions thugs start a street brawl. Of this incident, the police claim “there is no riot.”

So, what’s a business to do?

Somerville – At approximately 1 a.m. his morning, members of Teamsters Local 25 established a picket line at F.W. Russell Disposal Company located at 120 McGrath Highway and Broadway Brake at Broadway and Lombardi Way.

Russell Disposal is the contractor providing trash removal services for the city of Somerville.

Protestors bused into the scene padlocked the front gate and parked a trailer in front of it so Russell’s employees could not enter and the trucks could not leave.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning, acting Chief Robert Bradley gave the order for police to push back the picketers who had been bused into the site. Somerville Police were backed up by Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (a regional force from other cities) which includes a SWAT Team. Officials from Peabody, Concord, Pepperell, North Andover, Watertown, Bedford, Chelmsford, Lexington and Woburn staged in the Target parking lot and marched to the site in full riot gear.

As police pushed picketers back, a scuffle broke out. Ten picketers were arrested.

‘Simon Rosenthal Center’? um, Did You Mean ‘Wiesenthal’?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Just a short note to show how unschooled the editors and writers at Reuters are. In a piece on an ad taken out by “a Jewish human rights group,” published by Reuters on the evening of January 3rd, the wire service called the Simon Wiesenthal Center the Simon ROSENTHAL Center! Nice going, Reuters!

I suggest you go check it quick because they will be sure to catch the mistake soon…

Jewish group asks U.N. for suicide bombings session

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A week after Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was killed in a gun and bomb attack, a Jewish human rights group has taken out a full page ad in the New York Times on Friday demanding that the United Nations formally address suicide bombings.

The ad by the Los Angeles based Simon Rosenthal Center features a picture of Bhutto beneath the words “SUICIDE TERROR: What more will it take for the world to act?” and calls on the United Nations for a special session devoted to the issue.

Geeze what a gaffe.

**UPDATE**

Now THIS is even funnier…

An Endorsement That Might Matter

-By Michael M. Bates

Do celebrity endorsements make much of a difference in elections? Barack Obama’s assistance from the unelected queen of the world, Oprah Winfrey, suggests maybe not, at least not in the way you’d expect.

A poll found that one in three young New Hampshire women were less likely to vote for the clean, smart and articulate Obama because of the Oprah endorsement. One –sixth of women over age 65 said their opinion of the senator diminished as a result of Ms. Winfrey’s support.

Perhaps there’s hope for the Republic after all. Not that politicians are likely to discourage endorsements from some of the only folks with egos as colossal as their own.

At times we can tell a lot about a candidate by the celebrities backing him or her. Barbra Streisand endorsed Hillary Clinton, saying “Madame President of the United States . . . it’s an extraordinary thought.” No, Babs, what’s truly extraordinary is that you even imagine having what passes as a thought. This is the woman who’s claimed her absolute biggest nightmare is getting sick, getting taken to a hospital, and dying while hospital staff conjectures if their patient is indeed the Barbra Streisand.

Others supporting Mrs. Clinton include director Robb Reiner, who isn’t called Meathead for nothing, former NBA star Magic Johnson, and TV handyman Bob Vila.

Huckabee Scolded by Union

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ooopsie. Just after his winning the Hawkeye Caucus comes word that the folks in unions across America are a tad upset with former Arkansas Guv Mike Huckabee for crossing the picket lines of the writer’s strike to visit on air with Jay Leno.

The Huckster was not long ago endorsed by the Machinists union (IAM), but they aren’t too happy with his picket line crossing. President of the IAM, Tom Buffenberger was none too happy, apparently.

“Governor Huckabee should not cross the picket line. We have made that abundantly clear to his campaign. With such missteps, he risks losing the support his jobs and economic policies have won for him among trade unionists who will attend the GOP caucuses in Iowa or will vote in the later primaries.”

I don’t imagine that Huckabee will be too broken hearted with this pique, though. Now that Huck is an unexpected GOP front runner, it is doubtful that having a union mad at him will hurt him much. In fact, it could give him GOP street cred! After all, the IAM also endorsed Hillary Clinton! What self respecting Republican wants to be in THAT company?

Of course, this is one more reason to reassess supporting Huckabee. But that is another story for another post…

Morality, Schmorality — ‘Have More Sex in 2008′!

-By Warner Todd Huston

It looks like a wayward hippie from Haight-Ashbury circa 1967 found himself a time machine and came forward to 2008 and barricaded himself in the editorial room of the Chicago Tribune, today. To celebrate this magical feat, the Trib has gathered together all their best thinkers and, guided by their time leaping hippie, they’ve decided to advocate a little tonic for the New Year: Have more sex in 2008. But, man, let’s not bring us all down with talk of marriage, commitment, and morality, shall we? No, cast off that morality talk. Have sex because it “makes you younger.”

How vapid, eh?

This is a short one — well, it would have to be since they excised any responsible moral behavior from the deal, wouldn’t it? — so here it ’tis from the Trib’s “Health” section:

Here’s one New Year’s resolution that won’t be drudgery:

Have more sex in 2008.

Studies have found that having safe sex several times a week is good for your heart, muscle tone and sense of smell. Sex also can improve your mood and make you feel closer to your partner.

Newsweek.com recently listed six other good things. Having sex:

  • Boosts the immune system by increasing antibodies.
  • Makes you look younger.
  • Burns four calories a minute.
  • Relieves pain by increasing endorphins and corticosteroids.
  • Promotes regular menstrual cycles.
  • Helps fight incontinence in women by exercising the pelvic floor muscles.

Isn’t it cute how they try to blame this whole episode on Newsweek?

I suppose that since they said “safe sex” they think they’ve covered the bases, but anyone who has been in a sexually satisfying long-term relationship knows how empty of real truth the Trib’s little recommendation is.

Sexual flings, “safe” or not, are mentally and emotionally destructive, especially for women. And assumptions of “safe sex” are illusory when involved with a revolving door of partners, anyway. No, a fully satisfying sex life is much more assured with a single, long-term partner. It is also healthier. Not that the Trib would let anyone know that factoid.

Nice article for a “Health” section, isn’t it?

So, what makes for a long-term relationship? Why, it would be that dreaded “M” word that the Trib so carefully avoided. No, not “manually”… “marriage.” And, what helps cement the ties that bind for that long-term relationship? Having children, a family to nurture and to watch grow into adulthood, naturally.

But, heck… who needs all that straight laced, moral stability stuff, huh?

‘What’s the Problem’ With Spanish in the Workplace?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Here’s a guy that really misses the point of a debate. In New Jersey’s Home News Tribune, columnist Roger Hernandez is asking why everyone is so hot and bothered about English Only legislation and claims that Spanish being spoken… well, everywhere… should be no problem for anyone. In fact, he claims that it isn’t really happening that much, anyway, so fear about it is unfounded. But, his view on the matter misses the point that it is government forcing the Spanish language via lawsuits and government intervention on the nation that English Only supporters are trying to oppose, not just the evolutions of society itself.

Writing about Lamar Alexander’s proposed legislation, the Protecting English in the Workplace Act of 2007, and using that as his springboard to lambast the English Only trend, Hernandez scoffs at anyone interested in protecting our national character via protecting English.

Alexander (a sensible moderate Republican, once upon a time) and the right-wing blogosphere are framing it as a fight to preserve our supposedly vulnerable linguistic unity.

But, after recounting the efforts to protect English, Hernandez goes off track, attacking the English Only idea from the entirely wrong direction.

It is true that the common language of the United States is English, and that it is difficult to succeed without learning it. The problem is that both questions stem from the false premise that immigrants are tearing apart the national fabric with their refusal to speak English.

Not completely, Mr. Hernandez. “The problem is” that government is being used by criminal immigrant’s “rights” activists who are attempting to sue their desires into law by constant lawsuit abuse intended to make us all bend over backwards for people who are breaking our nation’s laws on a daily basis.

The Gentle Critic (The Muslim’s Most Feared Enemy)

-by Dawn Stricson

The gentle critic is certainly a harmless critic and whether I like it or not, the “gentle critic (the Muslim’s most feared enemy)” is certainly one of the most honest titles I can give to a conclusion that my more than 25 years of critical research have compelled me to come to.

Knowing what I do, it would be very dishonest of me to deny the fact that a certain religious-political ideology (better known as Islam) belongs in a category representing the world’s most dangerous cults, not any category representing anything as benign as the Christianity that is represented in the canonical New Testament documents. The ideology to which I am referring is primarily that which belongs to Muhammad’s disciples alone (i.e., a group of people who are hopelessly devoted to the blatantly tortured logic, devious spirit, and outrageously unjust mentality of a socially immature, cruel, warmongering and murderous thief, sex offender, pedophile, child-abuser, delusional idiot, deranged lunatic, terrorist, racist, imposter, and chauvinist; a group of people who are helplessly devoted to a 7th-century Arab who had serious prejudices against blacks, non-Arabs, and non-Muslims; a group of people who consider such a man to be the best example of a human being that one can follow; or Mohammedans, a group of people who prefer to be called Muslim’s).

Muhammad (alternately spelled M-o-h-a-m-m-e-d) was the founder of Islam. To this day, his disciples remain irrationally devoted to everything he said about his god, his revelations, and his authority. They certainly aren’t as devoted to his god as they are to his words about his god. Furthermore, they remain irrationally devoted to his arrogantly offensive, sex-offending, immature, or anti-social character, along with his obviously delusional and deranged way of thinking. The writings that settle all disputes among his disciples compel even the simplest of normal minds to say as much without hesitation. Indeed, the only minds that are incapable of saying so without hesitation are those that have been brainwashed or terrorized by the spirit of Mohammed’s tortured logic. On this basis, it would be much more correct to call Mohammed’s disciples Mohammedans than it would to call them Muslims.

Teamsters/UFCW Smack Down

-By Warner Todd Huston

Boy is this one embarrassing for two unions in one shot. Both the Teamsters and the United Food and Commercial Workers union got cremated in a vote by workers pondering representation. Turns out the employees of FreshDirect, a New York City grocery corporation, turned down BOTH of the unions by a vote of 80% against the unions!

The UFC reports the following:

NEW YORK — FreshDirect workers voted against joining a union, but the United Food and Commercial Workers will renew its push to organize the online grocer in the new year, according to reports. Employees of the company, based here, had been courted by both UFCW Local 348S and Teamsters Local 805, but 80% of the 530 warehouse workers who voted over the weekend chose not to organize with either union, the reports said. The vote came shortly after the company asked workers to provide proof of citizenship, saying the grocer was the subject of an investigation by federal immigration officials. Neither the unions nor FreshDirect could be reached for comment yesterday.

Notice, however, that the UFCW could care less about the rejection and have no intention of leaving these workers alone even when they were rejected by a massive percentage of them. No might mean no to some people… but never to a union thug.

As LaborPains.org quips:

It’s not a proud moment when you have to admit 80 percent of the voting public reject you. In politics, it’s a landslide. For today’s organized labor, it’s another day at the office.

Right on!

Hillary has the most experience of all the candidates – by far

-By Nancy Morgan

With the assassination of Benizir Bhutto this week, the focus of the presidential race has shifted. The new defining issue and buzz word of the day for presidential contenders is ‘experience.’ By that measure, Hillary leads the pack. Hands down. Her experience far outweighs that of all the other candidates combined.

Take Pakistan: If Hillary was President right now, I have no doubt Pakistan would not be erupting in violence. As a matter of fact, Bhutto’s assassination would most likely be spun as a suicide. Key evidence would be covered up, facts would be conveniently realigned and, with the help of the media, as in the Vince Foster ‘suicide,’ anyone who questioned the prevailing line would be quickly consigned to the ranks of the vast right wing conspiracy. Period. Case closed.

Hillary’s past experience would prove invaluable in confronting a host of other important issues facing America today. Recently, Hillary proclaimed that if she were elected president, the price of oil would immediately drop. Just so. Hillary’s past experience in the futures market, which netted her a cool $99,537.00 on a total investment of $1,000 shows how adept she is in manipulating the futures market. (That translates to a 9,987% return.) Truly astounding. I have no doubt that if Hillary were elected, oil prices would go down and America could go back to the days of the incandescent light bulb. Experience counts.

Abortion Supporter Knocks 69 Yr. Old Pro-Lifer Unconscious, Media Silent

-By Warner Todd Huston

On December 22nd a 69 year-old pro-life activist who was standing atop his automobile and protesting in front of the Hillcrest Abortion Clinic in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was physically attacked by an abortion supporter and thrown to the ground with enough force to knock him unconscious. Doctors even worried for a time that the elderly man might perish from the attack. And here, nearly 7 days out from this attack, there aren’t any accounts of the attack in the MSM. As I searched for the story myself, I found two and only two Internet hits for it. Why the silence from the MSM? Can you imagine the MSM swarm that would have occurred if it had been a pro-lifer that attacked an abortion supporter? The cacophony would have been deafening if a pro-lifer had been the one to get violent.

The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property issued the first story to hit the net a few days ago. Also, a Catholic PRWire and media advisory from Catholic Online was released on the 28th. But the MSM has remained silent on the matter.

Here is the account from the TFP:

When Mr. Snell tried to counsel the woman, his words were cut short when the man became furious, jumped the fence and, in the words of Mr. McTernan, “leaped on the vehicle with Ed and catapulted him off of the vehicle and onto the ground.” Mr. Snell hit his back and head on the pavement and was knocked unconscious.

His medical report outlines the extent of his injuries: “multiple trauma, right subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the area between the brain and the tissues that cover the brain), compression fractures of four vertebrae (T3, T4, T5 and T10), right scapula fracture and fracture of the fourth and fifth ribs.” Before doctors were able to stop the bleeding in his head, they even feared Mr. Snell would die.

An elderly man almost dies from an attack by an abortion supporter and the MSM is mum.

But, the receptionist at the clinic sure wasn’t mum!
