CNN’s Morgan Thinks Government Will ‘Nuke’ Gun Owners

Piers Morgan has done it again, jumping into his anti-gun, anti-Constitution advocacy with both feet… in his mouth. Once again, Morgan took to Twitter to revel in his “civility,” this time ridiculing gun owners for being wary of the power of tyrannical government, scoffing that the Second Amendment won’t keep us all safe from a nuclear armed United States.

Morgan Tweeted his latest absurdist, misinformed Tweet on January 13: “America has over 5000 nuclear warheads. Quite hard to defend against a ‘tyrannical U.S. government’ with that kind of firepower. #GetReal”

So very vapid. Uninformed, ill thought out, and foolish all at once.

Are we to assume that Piers Morgan thinks that the only way governments ever trample on rights or oppress citizens is to “nuke” them?

VP Gaffemaster: ‘No Silver Bullet’ to Stop Gun Violence

This month’s busy work for Vice President “Sheriff” Joe Biden is his great gun control task force assigned him by his boss, Barack. Now that it is close to wrapping up, Biden has told us a bit about his progress and in his gaffetastic way he’s told us that there is “no silver bullet” to any gun-grabbing solutions.

After he met with the National Rifle Association, “Sheriff” Joe bellied up to the closest microphone and told his constituents in the press that “We know that there is no silver bullet” to stop gun violence.

Biden claimed that his meetings with the NRA was “productive,” though he did not elaborate upon what that meant.

For its part, the NRA thought that Biden and his gun control crew didn’t really listen to a thing they said. The NRA told the Old Media establishment that it was “disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment.”

Larry King: That Piers Morgan is Awfully Self-Absorbed, Isn’t He?

For years Larry King hosted the CNN show that is now helmed by British import Piers Morgan. Now King has opened up about his replacement and his pronouncement is not very flattering. King thinks Morgan makes the show too much about Morgan.

For those who remember, Larry King was more about being a conduit for the guests to entertain and enlighten viewers. His idea, perhaps an old fashioned TV ideal, was to make the show less about Larry King and more about the guests his viewers tuned in to watch.

King was old school in that way. We never learned much about the life or personal opinions of Jack Parr or Johnny Carson when they were hosting the Tonight Show, either. Those two icons let the guests speak and made their shows about the entertainment. For the most part, Larry King modeled himself on that classic version of the TV interview show.

But Larry King was quick to point out that Piers Morgan isn’t like that at all. Morgan is more about Morgan than he is about the guests, King said.

“I never gave opinions,” King said of his own CNN show. “Piers gives his opinions. The show is a lot about him as much as the guests… He’s so different from me,” King lamented.

Woman Pulls Gun on Knife Wielding Attacker

In December, a Milwaukee man attempted to rob a corner market only to be stopped by a female store clerk with a firearm.

The incident, which occurred on December 14, was caught on surveillance video and shows a white man pulling a knife on a female clerk as she began to ring him up for a small purchase.

After the attempted robber pulled his knife and began to yank at the cash register, the female clerk pulled out a handgun from under the counter causing the attacker to cower to the floor, then run out of the store in haste leaving the cash behind.

Milwaukee police are looking for a white male, 25-35 years old, weighing 165 pounds.

Cincy TV News Calls Out PIers Morgan’s False Anti-Gun Stats

During his raucous interview with rabble rouser Alex Jones, CNN’s Piers Morgan unleashed several false gun statistics to show how wonderful his British homeland is for its gun banning ways. But Cincinnati’s Fox affiliate WXIX didn’t let Morgan get away with it thoroughly debunking the CNNer’s false stats.

With his January 8 “Reality Check” segment, WXIX’s Ben Swann completely undermined Morgan’s gauzy claim that Britain’s gun banning ways makes his countrymen safer compared to the wild west that is the U.S.A.

During the interview with Alex Jones, Morgan kept blathering about how Great Britain only had 35 murders with guns in 2011. That is compared to 11,000 murders with guns in the U.S. Morgan piously maintained that this made Great Britain’s laws better.

But Swann used real statistics to show that Morgan’s claims are misleading in general and just plain wrong in specifics.

D.C. Attny Gen’s Office Now Investigating NBC’s Gregory Over Gun-Law Violation

The decision over whether or not to charge NBC’s David Gregory for breaking Washington D.C.’s strict gun-banning laws on a December 23 broadcast of Meet the Press is now in the hands of the D.C. Attorney General, authorities reported Tuesday.

The D.C. Police essentially kicked the case upstairs pushing the investigation into a new phase. Chief Cathy Lanier released an email that said in part, that her department had “completed the investigation into this matter, and the case has been presented to the OAG for a determination of the prosecutorial merit of the case.”

The case is now in the hands of Attorney General Irvin B. Nathan who’s office oversees prosecutions of “low-level offenses.” A spokesman for the office said they would not comment until their decision had been made.

CNN’s Morgan: AR-15 Rifles Turns America Into ‘Utter Wild West Hell’

Virulent anti-gun nut Piers Morgan is at it again with his wild-eyed hyperbole against guns. During an interview with former Marine Joshua Boston, Morgan claimed that AR-15 “assault rifles” are turning the U.S. into an “utter wild west hell.”

After Breitbart posted the story of Corporal Boston, USMC Ret., the media picked up on it and he’s since made the rounds of Fox News, various radio shows, and recently CNN’s Piers Morgan show.

Boston had written a letter to gun-grabbing Senator Dianne Feinstein telling her “No Ma’Am,” that he would not be allowing his Constitutional rights to be violated by any politician.

In keeping with his extreme positions against the U.S. Constitution, Morgan invited Corporal Boston onto his CNN show in order to rail against guns. Also in keeping with his wholly uninformed positions on guns, Morgan went on a terror disgorging misinformation and fearmongering against them, in this case the AR-15 rifle.

L.A. Police Have History of Seizing Fake ‘Rocket Launchers’

Earlier we reported that the Los Angeles Police Department made a big show of having found “rocket launchers” during it most recent gun buyback program. We pointed out that the so-called launchers were being misreported and the police were illicitly using them as a scare tactic. But now we find that this same Police Chief has done this before.

On December 27 L.A. Police Chief Charlie Beck displayed a pair of what he claimed were “weapons of war” turned in during his latest gun buyback program. Chief Beck told the media that a pair of “rocket launchers” turned up and he evidently wanted to scare his city and make waves in the media about his success in getting these “weapons of death” off the streets of L.A.

Of course, the “rocket launchers” Chief Beck showed the Old Media establishment were nothing of the kind. Instead, what Beck waved about during the December press conference were U.S. Army training devices that were dummy devices. They are essentially prop pieces made to show young soldiers what such anti-tank weapons look like and how they feel. These training devices have never been able to fire anything nor could they be made to do so.

After the press conference, the Old Media establishment dutifully posted stories with scary headlines such as the L.A. Times’ piece, “LAPD investigating rocket launchers taken at gun buyback.”

The L.A. Police Department had big news on December 27. They had seized a pair of rocket launchers! This, of course, would have been shocking news if only they really had found “rocket launchers” in the City of Angels.

As the L.A. Police Department’s “gun buyback program” came to a close, Chief Charlie Beck had frightening news for his city. A pair of “rocket launchers” had been turned in.

Chief Beck proudly paraded the pair of launcher tubes at a press conference and gravely told those assembled, “Those are weapons of war, weapons of death. These are not hunting guns. These are not target guns. … they have no place in our great city.”

The media, of course, dutifully ran to press with the “news” of the dangerous weapons of war found on the streets of L.A.

Illinois Passes on Lame Duck Gun Ban Bill

Gun banners in Illinois were dealt a temporary set back on Sunday when a bill containing gun-banning language was put on the back burner in these waning days of the legislature’s lame duck session.

Anti-gun agitators placed a gun banning amendment on another bill, SB2899, in hopes that the Senate would vote on it on Sunday. But it was not to be. The Senate didn’t even bring the bill for a vote.

The Illinois House also pushed back any move to take up an assault weapons ban. House Judiciary Committee Chair Elaine Nekritz (D, 57th District) made the announcement Sunday afternoon.

The House bills are HB815 and HB1263.

CNN’s Morgan Wants to Ban ‘Idiocy’ of Constitution

CNN’s Piers Morgan is still engaged in his crusade against the U.S. Constitution. His latest salvo in that war is to call “idiocy” on those who support the Second Amendment.

As is his wont, British citizen Morgan took to his Twitter account to once again denounce those in favor of the rights Americans enjoy.

A young man from Indiana going by the name Brice Widau Tweeted to Morgan asking him why we don’t “ban mayonnaise” since obesity is supposedly a bigger killer in the U.S. than are guns. Piers replied to the young man saying that he and those who support the Constitution are wallowing in “idiocy” and he wants to “ban” it.

I’d rather ban your kind of idiocy > RT @bassistbrice: @piersmorgan obesity is a number one killer in America. Should we ban mayonnaise?

Clearly the Second Amendment isn’t the only part of that Constitution thingie foreign citizen Morgan despises. He is also against that whole “freedom of speech” business.

Ex-Burglars Admit Gun Owner-Outing Map Helps Criminals

Fox News recently reported that ex-crooks are denouncing the New York paper that published the names and addresses of thousands of the state’s gun owners saying that publishing the information was nothing less than a road map for criminals planning home invasions and burglaries.

In the last half of December, the Journal News a small paper in suburban Westchester, New York, published an interactive map featuring the names and addresses of the gun owners in Rockland County. This information, the ex-burglars say, presents criminals with a ready list of easy targets.

“That was the most asinine article I’ve ever seen,” said Walter T. Shaw, 65, a former burglar and jewel thief who the FBI blames for more than 3,000 break-ins that netted some $70 million in the 1960s and 1970s. “Having a list of who has a gun is like gold – why rob that house when you can hit the one next door, where there are no guns?

“What they did was insanity,” added Shaw, author of “License to Steal,” a book about his criminal career.

The map of gun owners’ homes also gives those crooks specifically interested in stealing guns a roadmap for their criminal enterprises.

Gun Owner-Outing Newspaper Has User Database Hacked, Customers Outed

The Journal News is in the center of controversy again. In December the Westchester, New York area paper politicized the names and addresses of thousands of New York’s legal gun owners then threatened to publish even more in the near future. But now a hacker group has hacked into the newspaper’s database and is disseminating the names, addresses, and passwords of thousands of the Journal News’ own customers.

After the local New York paper published the names and addresses of gun owners in Rockland County in an online interactive map, bloggers responded by posting the names and addresses of the employees of the Journal News.

The paper then hypocritically hired armed guards to patrol its offices over what it claimed were “threatening” emails it had received.

Reminder: Sen. Feinstein Said She Wants All Guns Banned

One of the lines that many progressives and TV talking heads are reiterating is that no one really wants to take away Americans’ guns. Senator Dianne Feinstein apparently missed that directive. She admitted as far back as 1995 that she does, indeed, wish to take everyone’s guns away from them.

In a 1995 broadcast of CBS’ 60 Minutes, Feinstein made the obvious admission saying she would love to have instituted an “outright ban” on all guns.

Feinstein was the driving force to the failed and now lapsed, 1994 “assault weapons” ban and it was upon her success at getting the law passed that she made her admission.

“If I could’ve gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them — Mr. and Mrs. America turn ’em all in — I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren’t here.”

This is not the way many lefties are trying to sell their latest attempts at gun banning, of course. Led by President Obama, the late tactic is to claim that no one really wants to take away guns and that any claim to the opposite is just “fearmongering.”

Hypocrisy: Gun Owner Outing Newspaper Hires Armed Guards

The Journal News of West Nyack, New York, doesn’t want fellow New Yorkers to be allowed to own guns and what better way to show support for its stand against guns than to hire armed guards to patrol its offices?

The suburban Westchester Journal News made itself the center of a controversy by publishing the names and addresses of thousands of New York’s legal gun owners in an interactive map on its website. It was an attempt to intimidate law-abiding citizens into giving up their Second Amendment rights. The map was accompanied by an article supportive of “a raft of new gun laws” at the state and federal level.

In response to the paper’s invasion of the privacy of New York’s legal gun owners, several bloggers decided to create an interactive map of employees of the Journal News.

David Gregory Still Under Investigation for Breaking D.C.’s Gun Laws

Despite President Obama trying to come to David Gregory’s rescue by granting him a surprise interview, the Meet the Press host is still under investigation by the Washington D.C. police department for violating D.C.’s strict gun banning laws on his December 23 broadcast.

On Meet the Press a week ago, Gregory broke D.C.’s strict gun laws by brandishing a 30-round magazine from an “assault rifle.” Possession of such high capacity magazines is illegal in the District.

There has been conflicting reports on whether or not the staff of the NBC Sunday show was given permission to use the visual aide, but whether they were given verbal permission or not, the law is pretty clear that possessing the ammunition feeding device is illegal.

Illinois Set to Ramp Up Extreme Gun Banning Law

Illinois is the only state in the Union that does not allow some sort of concealed carry statute for its law-abiding citizens. Illinois is also home to the city with the highest murder rate in the country. And yet, the Land of Lincoln is set to ring in the New Year with a new gun banning law that is more extreme than any yet instituted.

Illinois State Senate President John Cullerton (D, Chicago) is going to try and push through a new “assault weapons” ban in the Illinois legislature’s upcoming lame duck session that is so extreme that even some antique guns will be banned.

The Illinois State Rifle Association reports that Cullerton’s bill will ban pump action shotguns, semiautomatic pistols and rifles, and even antiques rifles like the M-1 Garand, the rifle used by U.S. troops in World War Two. (The M-1 Garand has only an 8-round, clip-fed ammunition system.)

According to the source, the bill would not include any grandfathering and would require Illinois gun owners to turn in their guns to the Illinois State Police where they will be destroyed.

“If [Cullerton] is successful at doing so,” the ISRA says, “nearly every gun you currently own will be banned and will be subject to confiscation by the Illinois State Police.”

Marine Tells Di Feinstein, ‘No Ma’am’ Over Gun Grabbing

Joshua Boston, a retired Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, has a message for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D, CA) concerning her newest gun banning bill. Corporal Boston says, “No Ma’Am.”

Boston posted an open letter to Senator Feinstein at CNN’s ireport site on December 27 to let DiFi know that he, at least, would not submit to the government denuding him of his Second Amendment rights.

Boston informed Sen. Feinstein that he will not register his weapons nor does he believe the Senator or anyone else in government has the right to require him to do so. Boston also scoffed at someone proclaiming “the evil of an inanimate object” even as she bestows upon herself the ability to carry a gun in contravention to her own proclamations.

“I am not your subject,” Boston insists. “I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.”

How Liberals Skew Gun the Debate

Along with a news-free interview with President Obama, this weekend’s Meet the Press on NBC also gave us two fine examples of how the gun-banners in the Old Media establishment skew the debate, not to mention how clear it is that they simply have no grasp on the issues, perhaps purposefully so.

During the panel discussion of the previous week’s news as host David Gregory steered the discussion to gun control, he turned to Jon Meecham, former top man at Newsweek and current contributing editor to TIME Magazine, both flailing magazines.

Meecham gave us a great example of how the far left rhetorically skews the debate to make its own side the “common sense” side while portraying anyone in opposition as outsiders, nuts, and extremists.

I worry that our attention span on these things is so limited. You had to bring up the question of guns as the president was laying out his second term agenda. It is one of these cultural, political issues where you have a ferociously well-organized opposition and a more diffuse common sense broader population and I think that’s where the tension is.

Notice how Meecham paints the “ferociously well-organized opposition” as being separate and distinct from the “common sense broader population.”

In other words, Meecham is saying anyone that supports the Second Amendment is part of a tiny number of “ferocious” and well-organized people while most Americans are “common sense” supporters of gun banning.

David Gregory Fawns Over Obama’s ‘Lincoln Moment’

NBC’s David Gregory hosted the President on Sunday’s Meet the Press but compared to his last notable interview, when he verbally attacked his guest at every turn, Gregory was virtually asleep this weekend. Unfortunately, Gregory’s mostly timid questions and Obama’s rambling answers gave us nothing new.

The only real pointed question that Gregory asked Obama was over Susan Rice. But even there he asked the question in the meekest manner possible.

Gregory asked, “Do you feel like you let your friend Susan Rice hang out there to dry a little bit?”

NY Paper Doubles Down: Publishing More Gun Owner’s Names and Addresses

The New York newspaper that drew criticism for publishing the names and addresses of hundreds of legal gun permit holders is doubling down by publishing the personal information of even more law-abiding gun owners.

To great criticism, the Journal News published an interactive map showing the names and addresses of the legal gun owners in Westchester and Rockland counties just before Christmas.

Now the paper has announced it will next publish the names and addresses of permit-holders in Putnam County with an eye toward eventually politicizing the names and addresses of every gun owner in the state.

The Journal News has defended its controversial violation of the privacy of New York’s legal gun owners by claiming that since the records are open to the public to find in government archives, they should be allowed to publish all the names and addresses.

Obama to David Gregory’s Rescue

Last Friday NBC’s David Gregory announced a surprise visit by President Obama for the weekend’s Meet The Press.

Gregory made the announcement on his Twitter account saying, “Excited to announce that President @BarackObama will be my exclusive guest this Sunday on @MeetthePress.”

This reverses Gregory’s announced vacation. He was not scheduled to be on this weekend.

Host Gregory has been under a cloud of controversy since his December 23 gun stunt. During last Sunday’s broadcast Gregory broke Washington D.C.’s strict gun banning laws when he brandished an illegal 30-round rifle magazine on the air in the D.C. studios.

So what gives? Why did the President suddenly appear on Meet The Press? Could it be to help Gregory out of his troubles? This is obviously a presidential back patting for Gregory so that maybe the D.C. police will back off.

NRA Still More Popular Than Media

For all the abuse the Old Media establishment has dished out to the National Rifle Association this month, polls show that the NRA is still more popular than the media.

Gallup released a poll this month stating that the NRA stands at 54 percent approval.

Fifty-four percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the National Rifle Association, while 38% have an unfavorable opinion. The public’s ratings of the NRA have fluctuated since first measured by Gallup in 1993 — from a low of 42% favorable in 1995 to a high of 60% in 2005.

On the other hand, the same polling firm shows that the media is distrusted at 60 percent! Approval rates for the media are below 30 percent.

And Congress? Their approval rate was last measured by Gallup at 21 percent.

CNN Gives Anti-Gun Talking Point Help to Dem Congressman

CNN’s Victor Blackwell is big on helping. He proved that on December 26 by giving Democrat Representative Jim Moran (Vir.) a little help with his anti-gun talking points during a broadcast of CNN’s News Room.

Moran appeared with Blackwell to discuss a new gun control bill he co-sponsored, but the CNN reporter wasn’t satisfied with Moran’s efforts so he helped out a bit citing statistics straight from anti-Second Amendment group Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG).

After Moran told the CNN audience about his gun “reform” bill, host Blackwell offered statistics that MAIG have been shopping around since late July.

“You picked these five,” Blackwell interjected, “because there’s a poll over the summer by a GOP pollster that says that these are not only things that are mildly supported by NRA members, but they are in the 60, 70, 80 percentile of support from the membership.”

Mr. Blackwell also didn’t bother to mention that the “GOP pollster” he was citing, Frank Luntz, has for some time also been a hired pollster for MAIG.

CNN’s Morgan: Both the Constitution and the Bible Need New Amendments

Piers Morgan has done it again, this time saying that both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are “inherently flawed” and need new “amendments.”

During Morgan’s Monday, December 24 broadcast of his cable spectacle, CNN’s British import once again attacked America’s most deeply held principles by slamming both the Constitution and the Bible.

Morgan was interviewing Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren when he essentially went for the throat.

“Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned, but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence, the need to amend it. My point to you about gay rights, for example, it’s time for an amendment to the bible,” the CNN host said.

Naturally, Pastor Warren told the cable talker that at least he didn’t believe the Bible was flawed.

But Morgan thought it was all pretty funny. “You should compile a new bible,” Morgan guffawed.

Newspaper Posts Map of Gun Owner’s Homes, Blogger Posts Newspaper Employee’s Homes

The Journal News of suburban Westchester, New York caused outrage by publishing an interactive map showing the names and addresses of New York’s legal firearm owners. In a sort of two-can-play-that-game reaction, a New York blog decided to create a map showing the names and addresses of employees of the newspaper.

The blog “Talk of the Sound” a New Rochelle, New York-centric website, decided that turnabout was fairplay by posting its headlined, “Map: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?.” The map replicates the idea of the gun owners map published by the Journal News replacing gun owners with newspaper employees.

When the Journal News published the names and addresses of New York’s legal gun owners the paper claimed that they were breaking no law as the information they published was all public record. The paper said it was just too bad if the gun owners felt their privacy was violated.

Sen. Schumer Says Long Dead Assault Weapons Ban Responsible for Current Falling Crime Stats

On Sunday Senator Chuck Schumer tried to pass off the 1994 assault weapons ban bill that was canceled eight years ago as the reason that today’s violent crime rates have been down.

In a discussion about gun control with Senator Chuck Schumer (D, NY) and Lindsey Graham (R, SC), David Gregory of NBC’s Meet The Press correctly pointed out that past gun banning laws like the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban didn’t work and that is a challenge to Schumer’s anti-gun position. Schumer answered to Gregory with a nice twist of logic saying,

“Well, the amount of gun violence since we passed the assault weapons ban and the Brady law is down considerably,” Schumer said.

This is a twist of logic. Firstly the assault weapons ban has been off the books now for eight years so it is a big stretch to say it factors into what is happening today. Further, since the Assault weapons ban lapsed every state but one (Illinois) has passed some sort of concealed carry law meaning that there are more guns “on the street” in as much as more law abiding citizens are allowed to carry their firearms everywhere they go.

David Gregory Suddenly On Vacation

After a controversial appearance on the Dec. 23 broadcast of NBC’s Meet the Press where host David Gregory broke D.C.’s gun laws by brandishing a banned large capacity rifle magazine, NBC announced that Gregory will not be hosting this coming weekend’s show.

NBC announced that Gregory’s vacation was scheduled previous to the controversial Dec. 23 broadcast. He is scheduled to return on January 5.

Washington D.C. police reported that the Dec. 23 incident is being investigated.

NBC has released no statement on the investigation.

Conflicting Info: NBC Told Rifle Magazine Stunt OK

The story of David Gregory’s Meet the Press rifle magazine stunt is getting a bit more complicated. A new report says that NBC was actually told that waiving the 30-round magazine on TV would not be against the law.

The report says that law enforcement officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) were contacted by staffers from Meet the Press asking whether or not using the 30-round rifle magazine on the air, in the Washington D.C. studios, would be a violation of the law.

After the inquiry by NBC, the ATF contacted the D.C. police and report that the police told them that as long as the rifle magazine was empty, it would not be a violation of the city’s strict gun-ban laws.

D.C. police, however, are now saying quite then opposite.
