Gawker’s Soft Peddling Pedophilia

-By Warner Todd Huston

Recently, Gawker.com, a left-leaning and sometimes profane general interest website, posted a story that makes excuses for child rape, calling it an “orientation” instead of a crime and stating that raping children is “a sexual relationship,” as opposed to the violation that it truly is.

The piece entitled, “Born This Way: Sympathy and Science for Those Who Want to Have Sex with Children,” written by Gawker editor Cord Jefferson, is quite an outrage for its excuse making and its explaining away of pedophilia as a mere “sexual orientation.”

Cord’s piece begins by introducing us to pedophile named “Terry” and we are told that when he was 20 — he’s now 38 — he “began a sexual relationship” with a seven-year-old girl. That a child can engage in a “sexual relationship” is a disgusting characterization but Gawker simply states it as so without protest.

Throughout the piece passive language like this soft peddles child rape. Constantly we are told that sex between adults and children as a “choice.” “Terry” even claims that the sex he had with his seven-year-old niece was consensual and Gawker simply takes his word for it without protest.

Then the piece goes on to reveal the “expert” testimony of a psychologist that claims that pedophilia is a “sexual orientation” just like homosexuality or even heterosexuality.

To Breitbart: Credit Where It’s Due?

-By Warner Todd Huston

In an otherwise interesting piece on the way conservatives set the agenda for media coverage of the Democrat convention and its removal of God and Jerusalem from the Party platform, Slate committed the all too common error of lazy attribution.

In a Sept. 7 piece, Slate noted how conservatives had basically set the agenda for the coverage of the Democrat convention all day on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 4 and 5. This was when it was realized that the Democrats had eliminated both God and Jerusalem being the rightful capital of Israel from their platform.

The Slate piece rightfully notes that Breitbart’s Jeff Dunetz was a source for breaking the news. But Slate gets the site wrong in its attribution. Slate notes that Jeff posted his story at his YidWithALid blog [sic] blog — which is certainly true even though it is actually called YidWithLid blog, no “A” — but neglects that Jeff gave the scoop to Breitbart’s Big Government first.

Mountains out of Molehills: The False Attack on Ryan’s Mountain Climbing

-By Warner Todd Huston

Democrats and their progressive cohorts are now trying to claim that Republican VP candidate Paul Ryan is lying about the number of times he’s hiked Colorado’s mountainsides. Naturally they are garbling the truth. Is there anything these left-wingers won’t try to make into an end-of-the-world outrage?

This faux outrage is, indeed, a “mountains out of molehills” moment, because the facts show this purported controversy is reaching to the heights of pure demagoguery.

These Obama surrogates are claiming that Paul Ryan lied when he said he climbed 40 of Colorado’s 54 mountain peaks that rise to over 14,0000 feet in height — peaks called “fourteeners.” This, they say, is nearly impossible because the amount of time and training that would be necessary to have tackled 40 of Colorado’s “fourteeners” would have left Rep. Ryan little time for Congress.

Proof Positive that Democrats Have Morphed into an Un-American Party

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of the main themes of this fetid Democrat Convention is that we, the citizens of the United States of America, belong to the government. This is one of the most un-American ideas I’ve ever seen adopted by a major, important American political party.

The whole point of the United States of America was that we the people owned our government. The founders did not start this country with the ideal that the government owned the people. In fact, they were adamant that this not be the case.

You see, the founders knew that a government that imagines that its citizens are its property is a despotic one, indeed. In fact, the founders had a controversy right at the outset of their new nation’s birth, one not of their own making but one that both proved the point of the danger of tyranny and threatened to snuff out their nascent union. That thing was slavery.

Incognito? Reporters Using Fake Names to Buy Obama Merchandise

-By Warner Todd Huston

Looks like some members of the Old Media establishment have resorted to using false names in order to buy Obama campaign merchandise inside the friendly confines of the media-only areas of the Democrat National convention this week.

Hunter Walker reported about an Obama/Democrat Party souvenir stand that sat inside an area to which only convention goers with media credentials had access and when asked about her take for the night the stand’s minder revealed a startling subterfuge.

Before the amazing revelation, the souvenir seller asked Obeserver.com’s reporter if he wanted any Obama merch but he reminded her that buying campaign stuff amounts to a donation to the campaign and, well, he was a reporter and it just wouldn’t be kosher to do that.

Godless Illinois Democrat Gets Mad Being Asked Why God Was Dropped from Dem Platform

-By Warner Todd Huston

One of the most vile members of the Senate is Dick “Turban” Durbin and he once again proved his ignorance and hatemongering on Fox News when asked why the Democrats removed God from their platform.

On Sept. 4, Durbin appeared on Fox with Bret Baier when the discussion turned to the removal of the word “God” from the Democrat Party platform. Now, correspondent Baier drew no conclusions about the removal of God from the platform. He just asked, straight away and without commentary, why did the Democrats remove God from the platform.

Instead of answering the question, this scumbag Durbin went on a wild rant on how Baier and “your network” are calling the Democrats Godless.

But, again, Baier drew no conclusions. He just asked the question.

This is how the biggest jerk next to the liar Harry Reid in the Senate replied to the simple question:

Now, the fact is, even though Bret Baier did not call names like idiot Durbin did, the fact is Democrats do hate religion. They hate God, they hate Christianity, they hate everything to do with our nation’s traditional creeds. The Democrats removed God from their platform because they are a godless, un-American group. Dick Turbin knows this fact and his defensive, explosive, over-the-top reaction was proof positive that he knows that his party is anti-Christianity.

If you are a Christian and a Democrat, one wonders how you square that circle?

The Democracy Alliance: Soros-Linked Liberal Super Group & Its Secret Funding of Democrats

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Washington Free Beacon has undertaken a series of reports that are important for anyone interested in a follow-the-money investigation of one of the biggest influences on today’s Democrat Party. This is a hard-core group of far left extremists holding the Democrats purse strings and is called the Democracy Alliance. It is a George Soros-sponsored group and it ain’t your father’s Democrat Party, for sure.

The Free Beacon has a great primer page (Democracy Alliance Editor’s Note) on this group that helps you follow the money and the players. But to me, one of the most insidious aspects about this group — aside from its purely anti-American ideals — is that it serves as a “pass through” organization.

By that I mean that the organization serves as a central money pot to which many Democrat and extremist progressive groups funnel their campaign cash. They do this for two reasons. One is to create an even larger pot of money for their causes and second is to hide their activity in the efforts of a third party.

You see, when a group gives its money to a pass through organization the donors have a certain level of plausible deniability on where the money ultimately ends up. That way, if something blows up PR-wise, the original donors can distance themselves from the trouble by saying that they didn’t necessarily donate for that purpose.

She Still Takes a Villager — Hillary’s Authorship Lies

-By Warner Todd Huston

Venerable book publishers Simon and Schuster have announced that on December 12th they will be issuing a new edition of Hillary Clinton’s starry-eyed 1996 paean to socialist collectivism, It Takes a Village — starring none other than Mz. inevitability herself, Hillary Clinton. I’m sure the rafters will once again tremble with hosannas for Clinton’s “hard work” in writing the book and she will again be heralded as a wonderful stylist. All due praise will be lavished upon the former first lady, current Senator, and unsurprising candidate for the Democrat Party nomination for President of the United States of America.

Actually, I’ll have to take that back because Hillary won’t be receiving all due praise for her efforts on the book. She will be getting far, far more than she deserves. Why, you might ask? Because she wrote barely a word of the book that bears her name, that’s why. And worse, since 1996 Clinton has lied repeatedly claiming she wrote it all by herself, refusing to acknowledge that it was ghostwritten by someone else.

Still, the ersatz praise has already started. As seen on Amazon.com’s page for the book, Audiofile magazine recently said of the new edition, “For the most part, this is not the former first lady and presidential hopeful we all know. In a softer, almost neighborly voice, Clinton reveals intimate details about her childhood and the childhood of her husband.” This is really quite an observant review for the single fact that Clinton’s voice is altogether missing from the book. Of course the reason for that is that the harsh, shrill voice of the Hillary Clinton “we all know” was nowhere near the typewriter of Barbara Feinman Todd, the woman who really wrote the book.

But, where is the acknowledgment of the real writer of the book Hillary is famous for? Nowhere to be found, making Hillary more correctly infamous for the book instead of praiseworthy. A description of the book prior to the new edition’s release, one probably written by the publisher, says, “Written when Hillary Clinton was the First Lady, IT TAKES A VILLAGE acknowledges the many challenges and difficulties of raising children in America and proposes an ideal of broad community responsibility for the total upbringing of healthy and secure children. Clinton draws on her own experiences as a child, mother, and lawyer, as well as those of concerned parents, teachers, and advocates for children–and she takes the time to listen to the important lessons that children can teach adults as well.”

It’s interesting that they don’t exactly come out and say she wrote the thing, isn’t it?
