Leftist ‘The Nation’ Wants to End Capitalism by Destroying the Family

Now, you might think that headline above is an exaggeration. Sadly it isn’t. The left-wing rag, The Nation, is truly suggesting that the best way to end capitalism is to eliminate the American family and to take away all children from their parents.

This laughable screed was penned by Rosemarie Ho, someone who thinks “feminist theory” is a legitimate discipline. Ho wrote, “Feminist theorist Sophie Lewis’s new book looks at how rethinking pregnancy and the idea of family as forms of labor is central to emancipatory politics,” as the hook for her May 16 article at The Nation.

This is the nonsense that passes for “thought” on our nihilistic college campuses, folks.

Indeed, doing herself no favor with intelligent people everywhere, Ho admits at the outset that the idea of destroying the family is a central tenet of communist theory as proposed by Marx and Engels. Ho dug her hole even deeper by also pointing out that abolishing the family is a main goal of radical homosexual theorists, too.

Marx and Engels and radical homosexuals… she cites these as worthy thinkers?

Ho makes herself a laughing stock in her very first paragraph.

Father’s Day 2010: ‘Love’ Does NOT Make a ‘Family’

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the eve of Father’s Day, I heard on the air on Chicago’s WIND AM some typical left-wing babble about families. A fellow calling himself a doctor waxed eloquent over how we can “make our own families,” and how “families aren’t just about blood. They are about love.” Nice, gauzy, and wholly inadequate to truly define the importance of family, isn’t it? But it is this mushy-headed thinking that is so destructive to the role of real families in America today, especially where it concerns fathers. So, on this 2010 Father’s Day I thought I’d correct the mushy-headed liberalism about families and put into perspective the true importance of families and fathers.

First of all, there is no disputing that families are “about love.” That does, indeed, go without saying. Love is quite helpful for familial strength and success. But to simply say “families mean love” and leave it at that is completely misleading and inadequate to inform us of what a family is. In fact, love is equally as important as another descriptive word: responsibility. Families cannot survive without the later though they can get by without the former.

Unfortunately, in this society today we’ve dumbed down the word love into meaningless bromides with the result that love really has lost all meaning. All too often we use the word without any respect for its true meaning. We “love” movies, we “love” sports, we “love” music… sadly “love” has replaced the word “enjoy” or even “like.” So when people say that love is all we need to make a family, we slight the difficulty and determination that making a family means. We make of family an ill-defined thought, an empty concept without giving it the seriousness it’s due. We need to add the word responsibility to the description of what a family is so that people fully appreciate the importance of it all.

A new documentary film is debuting this week entitled, “The Lottery.” The film highlights the ever failing public education system we have in America today and how our children’s future is being seriously harmed by greedy, uncaring teachers unions.

Calif. School Bans American Flag Clothing For Non-Existent Mexican Holiday?

-By Warner Todd Huston

California schools really do hate America. In California apparently you are a bad little boy if you wear to school clothing adorned with the good ol’ Red, White and Blue. You get thrown out, in fact. At least that is what happened to several patriotic American boys that attend Comunidad Educativa Vivo Roble in California… oh, wait, that is the Live Oak High School in California. With all the dissing of America going on in California I thought the school had changed its name. Sorry.

For the Gilroy Dispatch Lindsay Bryant reports that five young students of Live Oak High School in Gillroy, California were kicked out of school on Cinco de Mayo because they dared to wear the venerable American colors while all the Mexican students were wearing the Green, White and Red colors of the Mexican flag. According to Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez these evil American children were “starting a fight.”

The New America: Physically fit boys in American Themed Clothes = Baaaad

Yeah, in American schools you are “starting a fight” when you wear America themed clothing but innocent as the driven snow when you are sporting the colors of foreign nations. Braynt reports that over 100 students were seen in the Mexican colors. One rather corpulent girl-child even pained her face and various overly exposed body part with the celebratory colors.

One Mexican-American student, freshman Laura Ponce, had a Mexican flag painted on her face and chest, peaking out of her low-cut shirt. She did it because, “it’s our day, the only day we can show our spirit.” A school administrator took away the Mexican flag she was carrying as she was waiting to go home. Ponce said: “not cool.”

Even the morbidly obese can celebrate Cinco de Mayo, hold the lettuce. But don’t go wearing any of those evil, evil Red, White and Blue clothes!

The New America: Morbidly Obese Girls in Mexican Themed Clothes = Gooood

I am sure that Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez only speaks Spanish, I mean I can’t imagine him sullying his delicate mouth with the guttural sound of English, so let me help him out with what these fine young boys were exhibiting. It’s called patriotism, Mr. Rodriguez…. oh, yeah, sorry… I mean patriotismo Estados Unidos de América. Forgot your hatred of things American/English there for a second, Mr. Rodriguez. My most fulsome apologies.

Gosh Darn it… The Assoc. Press is all Mad at Me (Update on NJ School Cross-Dressing Day)

-By Warner Todd Huston

I hate it when the Old Media gets all mad at me, and stuff. But, here is the vaunted AP scolding me for “skewering” a grade school over the story of the canceled cross-dressing day that was to be held at the Maude Wilkins School in New Jersey.

On the morning of April 12 I came across a story posted on my FaceBook page by an incensed mother of a grade school boy from the Maude Wilkins grade school. She was upset that her school had planned an event for women’s history month wherein students would come to school dressed as a famous woman from history, or dressed in representative historical women’s fashion from American history… yes, they even expected the boys to dress as women.

Later that day I wrote my treatment of the event and off to the races we went. As it happened it wasn’t long before the pressure that the school felt over the ridiculous cross-dressing day caused Principal Beth F. Norica to cancel the event.

Kansas Woman Gets Kids Taken by State…. but is NEVER Convicted of Any Crime!

By Warner Todd Huston

These are the kind of stories that burn me up and prove that the state cannot be trusted. Here is a woman that is about to be arrested for being near her own children, kids that were taken away from her by the State of Kansas.

OK, you might ask, so what did she do to get her kids taken away from her? No one knows because Kansas never convicted her of anything nor did the state ever say why it took the kids. It just did. Period.

Canadian Parents Fooled Into Raising Prostitutes

-By Warner Todd Huston

Canada, oh Canada. What the heck happened to ya? I suppose it is nothing more mundane than that our northern neighbor has succumbed to the same sort of nihilism that western culture in general is slouching toward. Two recent stories in the Canadian press could not illustrate better the depths being plumbed by Canadian society–and by extension our own.

The first purports to be parenting advice perpetrated on Canada by one Adriana Barton of the Globe and Mail. In this woeful homage to the newest sort of Dr. Spokian abdication of parenting, Barton tells Canadian parents that “consensual living” is a far better way to rear a child than exerting parental authority.

After reading Barton’s piece, though, one gets the distinct feeling that this “new” idea of “consensual living” allows willful children to control the parent. It is “non-hierarchical”–meaning the parents have no authority, apparently–and is supposedly based upon “understanding each other’s feelings,” trumpets Barton.
