Congrats to ‘Doug Moore’: Texas Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee Doesn’t Even Know Who Won in Alabama

Texas Congresscritter Sheila Jackson Lee has always been a one woman gaffe factory and last night she was at it again proving that she doesn’t even know the main actors in the biggest political story of the month after she congratulated “Doug Moore” for winning the Alabama Senate election.

On December 12, Alabamans went to the polls and in a shocking upset elected Democrat Doug Jones to the U.S. Senate. Jones overcame a 20 point deficit to beat troubled Republican candidate Roy Moore to take the seat vacated by Trump’s U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions.

Apparently, Sheila Jackson Lee wanted to get in on sending congratulations to her fellow Democrat, but even though the Moore/Jones race was THE most talked about race in the entire country over the last few months, Lee didn’t even know who the heck she was talking about.

It was a momentous win for the Democrat Party because no Democrat has won a seat there since 1992.

So, Democrats all across the country were crowing from the rooftops, to be sure.

Late on Election Day, Jackson Lee jumped to her Twitter account to congratulate Doug Jones for winning the election, but foolishly mashed up his name with Roy Moore’s calling Jones “Doug Moore.”

Naturally, as soon as her staffer saw how stupid she was, they deleted the tweet and replaced it with one containing the right name!

Alabama Lawmaker’s, Vile, Race-Tinged Email to Constituent

A Jefferson County, Alabama man got a shock after he emailed a local State Representative when instead of a form reply, or a short, meaningless message, the state representative sent him a vile rant filled with taunts and race-tinged epithets.

When Jefferson County resident Eddie Maxwell sent an email to Alabama’s House members urging them to reject any new gun control measures, State Rep. Joe Mitchell (D, Mobile) responded with a virulent personal attack.

Using his official state government email account, Rep. Mitchell sent back a tirade that raised eyebrows across the Yellowhammer State this week. In the email, Mitchell essentially called Mr. Maxwell a slave owner, and followed that with a string of name-calling and threats of violence against him and those like him.

“Your folk never used all this sheit to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed, imported criminal-minded kin folk,” Rep, Mitchell wrote in the return email. [Spelling as in original]

Mitchell went on to rant that he will use Maxwell’s message to show why his constituents should “stock up on spare parts, munitions and the like,” in an obvious allusion to using the Second Amendment to protect themselves from white people like Maxwell.

Rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd Denounce Then Support The Confederate Flag

After forty some years of prominently featuring the Southern Cross flag of the old Confederacy as part of its schtick, suddenly the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynrd is denouncing the banner claiming it is a symbol of racism.

Sole surviving original band member, Gary Rossington, explained why the band was dumping its long-time use of the Southern Cross flag (often mistakenly called “The Stars and Bars”) in an interview with CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield in an episode of the cabler’s Face to Face entertainment segment.

It became such a issue, you know, about race and stuff, where, we just had it, in the beginning because we were southern and that was our image back in the 70s and late 60s because they kinda branded us from being from the south so we showed that.

But I think through the years, you know, people like the KKK and skinheads and people have kind of kidnapped the Dixie or Rebel flag from the southern tradition and the heritage of the soldiers, you know, that’s what it was about. And they kinda made it look bad in certain ways. So, we didn’t want that to go to our fans or show the image like we agreed with any of the race stuff or any of the bad things.

Bandmate Johnny Van Zant went on noting that they all grew up “loving the old Blues artists,” and other black musicians and they “just didn’t want to be associated with that particular (racist) thing.”

Birmingham News Drops the Ball on Black-on-white Crime

Recently I reported on the stabbing of white truck driver Nick Stokes by members of a black motorcycle gang called the Outcasts of Alabama. It’s not merely a scary story but also an unusual one, mostly because of the behavior of law enforcement. The Adamsville, AL police department not only failed to question or detain any of the gangsters, but, outrageously, also told Stokes that they “don’t mess” with the Outcasts.

What isn’t at all unusual about the story is the mainstream media’s reluctance to cover a case of black-on-white crime. In particular, I cited the Birmingham News (BN), whose crime-beat reporter, Carol Robinson, had brusquely dismissed the incident as not newsworthy. After my article was published in American Thinker, however, she finally treated it – no doubt as a result of pressure – but in a manner so incomplete that it reflects a grudging attitude. More on that in a moment.

The BN’s dereliction of duty didn’t escape its readers, some of whom savaged the paper in the comments section under Robinson’s piece. One wrote, “Wow. Birmingham News finally prints this story. Only after being shamed into it by the American Thinker….” Another quipped, “Hey Birmingham news, if you don’t watch out someone is gonna start a newspaper around here.” We can only hope.

Police to White Victim: We ‘Don’t Mess’ with Black Gang

Most of us have heard about how the media won’t report on black-on-white crime. We also may know that authorities sometimes sweep it under the rug due to political pressure, usually with a wink and a nod. But not so in rural Alabama, where the police actually told a white crime victim that they “don’t mess” with a local black motorcycle gang.

The tragic event that led to this shocking admission occurred on March 28, as truck driver Nick Stokes and neighbor Johnathan Cooper were heading out of Birmingham hauling a portable cabin. While rounding a curve, one of Stokes’ tires slipped and kicked up some gravel, which angered a black motorcycle-gang member who was in close proximity. The gangster – part of the notorious “Outcasts of Alabama” – gave chase and tried to force Stokes to pull over to the side of the road. Alabama Shows the Best Way to Limit Illegal Immigration

Tougher than Arizona’s, Alabama’s new immigration law is a perfect example of the best way to put limits on illegal immigration. Sadly these are laws being forced upon the states to implement instead of coming from the federal government, but regardless they are effective in limiting illegals.

The Mobile Press-Register has a story sort of crying that Mexican oriented businesses in Alabama are suffering under the state’s new laws. These businesses have lost half — or perhaps as much as 75% in some estimations — of their customer base. Where have they gone? These customers are either moving back to Mexico or to other states and are doing so to avoid the tougher laws holding them to account in Alabama for their criminal trespass upon this country.

The Press-Register provides the stories of several business started in Alabama by Mexicans catering to Mexican immigrants. The businesses are on the verge of collapse because their illegal immigrant clientele have left the area.

You might recall that Ag Commish candidate Dale Peterson looked straight into the camera and told us all that his opponents “don’t give a rip about Alabama!” You also might remember that his TV spot went viral on the Internet and he became the new favorite of straight shooters everywhere.

Truth in Accounting Issues: Alabama’s ‘Financial State of the State’ – True Tax Burden $19.9 Billion

Chicago (November 29, 2010) Today, the Institute for Truth in Accounting released Alabama’s “Financial State of the State.” After an intensive review of the State’s 2009 audited financial report the Institute determined the State is in a precarious financial position because it does not have the funds available to pay almost $19.9 billion of the State’s commitments as they come due. Each taxpayer’s share of this financial burden equals $15,400.

Alabama state law requires a balanced budget. “If governors and legislatures had truly balanced the state’s budget, no taxpayer’s financial burden would exist,” said Sheila Weinberg, founder and CEO of the Institute for Truth in Accounting (IFTA). She continued, “A state budget is not balanced if past costs, including those for employees’ retirement benefits, are pushed into the future.”

Rep. Giffords Shot in Arizona! (Update: Fed Judge Also Shot)

BREAKING: An obviously insane moron rushed up to a grocery store where Democrat Representative Gabrielle Giffords (Arizona, 8th District) was appearing and began shooting a pistol indiscriminately.

Several of Gifford’s staffers were hurt and the Congresswoman herself was rushed to University Medical Center in Tucson. Her condition is not yet known. One report has her having been hit in the head.

The assailant was tackled by bystanders and held for police.

UPDATE 01

Reuters is reporting that Rep. Giffords has died of her wounds.

…but KOLD TV News is saying the representative is still surgery.

UPDATE 3

Fox News just reported that Federal Judge John Roll was also shot in the attack. News is also out that representative Gifford is responding to questions from medical staff and is not as grievously injured as feared.

Union Admits Buying Politician, Wants $ Back

When an average citizen donates money to a politician it is usually because that citizen believes in the politician and wants to help him have the war chest to conduct a campaign. Unions like to pretend that they donate to politicians out of the goodness of their hearts, just like common citizens do. Everyone knows, though, that they are merely making an attempt to buy them. A union in Alabama has as much as admitted that they were trying to buy a politician, but when he didn’t dance to their tune, these union folks demanded their contributions back.

Al Henley, secretary-treasurer of the Alabama AFL-CIO, seems to be a mite miffed with Alabama Representative Parker Griffith. You’ll recall that Griffith was the one-time Democrat who jumped the sinking Donkey ship and became a Republican late last year.

Apparently while he was a Democrat the AFL-CIO had no problem giving him campaign money. Now that he’s a Republican, though, the union has taken sudden umbrage at Griffith’s voting record. “Parker Griffith, we feel you have swindled us,” Henley said at a recent rally in Hunstville, Alabama.
