The Race Card May Have Been Dealt, But Who’s Playing It?

-By Frank Salvato

Just before the South Carolina Democrat primary there was a great deal of talk about the Clinton campaign having played the “race card.” Not too many people flinched at the thought and rightfully so; the Clinton’s have a vicious and relentless political attack machine. But looking at the voter demographics from the states that compiled data based on “race,” it would seem that even though the Clinton’s may have dealt the “race card,” it is the black community that is playing it…all across the country.

Where some among the disingenuous Left will try to characterize this as a criticism of Barack Obama’s campaign, it is not. I have a complete and potent set of arguments against electing Barack Obama to the highest office in the land, among them: his lack of tangible experience leading anything, his lack of significant political achievement, his affection for Marxist ideology in the form of his emulation of Saul Alinsky and Frank Marshall Davis and his pilfered penchant for manipulating the more susceptible among the American people with his hollow rhetoric of Clintonian “change” and “hope.” That Obama is unqualified to be President of the United States is an understatement of the most dramatic kind, but this missive is not about Obama’s lack of qualifications.

No matter where we go in the United States it is hard to escape the insincere blathering of those who promote tolerance and diversity, the American Fifth Column. We see commercials that promote racial, cultural, religious and sexually oriented harmony but the fact is it is less practiced than we would be led to believe. To prove this point all one has to do is dress up like a Marine and walk down the streets of Berkeley. Or try to bring up a cogent point that takes issue with one of the more vulnerable points of Al Gore’s argument about global warming in Los Angeles. Or try to explain to the Columbia University faculty why those who hide behind the false label of the “religion of peace” should answer for their committed atrocities against not only women in their culture but against all those who do not submit to the will of Allah. Try employing any of these actions, and more, in the presence of the American Fifth Column and you will be branded a murderer, a truth denier, a bigot, a racist.

But getting back to the “race card” issue…

All They Need is Love — Obama’s Record Doesn’t Matter

-By Warner Todd Huston

Alright, folks. I think we are seeing a phenomenon in the making. But first this word of sanity…

Barack Hussein Obama is an empty suit. You know it and I know it. In fact, I know it even better because I am from Illinois. I’ve watched Barack do practically NOTHING for his entire political career, save vote on the extreme left every time he bothered to vote — which wasn’t too often. He has the worst absentee and “present” vote record of any Illinois politician.

He even voted not to allow emergency care to babies who suffered the failed attempts of an abortion but were born anyway, legislation called the “born-alive act” in Illinois. He has been a strong abortion advocate since day one. The man is straight up baby killer.

But, aside from this he did about zip in the Illinois state house, just as he’s done about zip in the Senate of the United States. He sponsors little legislation and votes as little as he can get away with, mostly so that he doesn’t have to take a stand in public on any particular issue. He wants as little record as possible so that people have as little history from which to judge him.

And yet, not a single bit of this will matter. His legion of fans (and they can more rightfully be considered fans, not political followers) don’t give a donkey’s ass about what he does or does not really stand for. All they see is the “magic man” they love, the man who is for “change.” They haven’t a clue what that means, but they love it unconditionally.

This man has the singular ability to make slobbering nitwits of everyone he meets.

Reuters: CAIR Says They ‘Feel Left Out’ of 2008 Election

-By Warner Todd Huston

Proving once again in good European form that they think nothing American is democratic, good or fair, Reuters gives us a pity party for CAIR who is whining that they “feel left out” of the 2008 presidential elections. With the headline blaring “Some non-Christians feel left out of election,” Reuters gives us a tale of woe guaranteed to make Europeans shake their heads knowingly that we Americans are really just Christian nuts out to oppress all minorities. One does wonder, however, how CAIR would like it if Muslims did become a focus of the 2008 elections? In light of current events it is doubtful if such a focus would be favorable to them, so, were I them, I’d be happy no one is paying attention to them!

In a U.S. election campaign where presidential candidates from both major parties have talked openly about their Christian faith, some non-Christians feel shut out or turned off.

Listen, this is a majority Christian nation and anyone wanting to get elected is naturally going to talk as closely as possible to that majority. This country is still over 75% Christian, so it is a logical presumption that citizens whose religion represents only a few percentage points would not be a focus of a politician’s efforts!

But not being a focus does not equate to oppression or their rights being squelched, it must be pointed out.

And here we go with the tsk tsking:

Black History Month, Martin Luther King, and Hypocritical Media!

-By Don Boys, Ph.D.

Martin Luther King, Jr. disgraced his race—the human race, and it is incredible that media moguls, black leaders, guilty whites, ad nauseam, continue to perpetuate the myth that he was a good man and one to be emulated, honored, respected, if not worshipped.

When I tell the truth about King and other black opportunists and criticize “Black History Month” my critics, rather than deal with my facts and conclusions, usually question my intelligence, my motives, if not my birth. They treat me the way I am accused of treating King. I simply ask people to deal with the facts, looking at his life not the color of his skin. My motives are important to me but do they really matter to others?

Every February it gets wearisome to hear Blacks tell us over and over how Black explorers, inventors, scientists, athletes, preachers, etc., have been the saviors of, if not the world, at least the U.S. Now, I am the first to admit that more black achievement should have been in our textbooks and much should be made of their work; however, all that should be included in American History, not Black History. And Afrocentrism should be considered nonsense.

If I were the hater and bigot I am accused of being then why are some of my dearest friends Black? Why would I have enormous respect for historical Blacks who make all Americans proud? Why would I be thrilled to have as neighbors Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, or Clarence Thomas?

Congressman Uses Obama Win for Race Baiting

-By Warner Todd Huston

Here is one the MSM will run away from as fast as they can. Missouri’s William “Lacy” Clay (D, MO) used Barack Hussein Obama’s startling Missouri win as a chance to play the race card against whites. During the post primary rally Clay fired up the crowd with some hearty “they’re all against us” rhetoric leaving no doubt who the “they” are. You won’t hear this on the MSM because they are trying their hardest to keep Obama’s “Change” express on its tracks and no old playbook, race baiting will be allowed.

His comments appeared on KFEQ-AM radio this morning and they show that Clay isn’t above using Obama’s moment in the sun, his message of “change,” to go right back to the old race baiting playbook.

Change? Not so much. It’s still “us” against “them” as far as Clay is concerned.

It should be recalled that Clay is one of those who took the occasion of Bill Clinton’s off handed remarks last month as a chance to “warn the Clintons” against their race baiting.

Back on the 24th, Clay said, “If for some reason Barack does not go all the way and become the Democratic nominee and Hillary is, there will be quite a lot of animosity throughout Missouri and throughout the African-American community toward the Clintons.”

Transcript of Obama Rally Comments:

“That’s what hope will give you. It just goes to show you, all of Missouri and our state can vote against this guy, can vote against our dreams and ambitions, but St. Louis City and County, brought him home.”

The Clintons, Race, and the 50-year-old Calculation

-By Selwyn Duke

Since I think the Clintons would probably sell their souls and firstborn for another White House tenure, the idea they would play the race card raises no eyebrow here. They are political creatures first, most everything else second and statesmen last. For this to elude one, he must have his head planted firmly in a particularly dense grade of sand.

Man of letters Christopher Hitchens understands this; while by no means a member of the “Vast Right-wing Conspiracy,” he writes eloquently about the Clintons’ long history of racial “thuggery and opportunism.” Even more significant are the pronouncements of Dick Morris, Bill’s erstwhile propaganda minister. His thesis is that Hillary wanted the black vote in South Carolina to coalesce for Obama so that she’d lose the state big, and she wanted this electoral shift to be visible and much ballyhooed in the media. Witnessing this, white voters in other states would then circle the wagons around her, and, with their numerical superiority, the nomination would be Hillary’s.

Or so the theory goes.

Although Morris’ political prognostications leave much to be desired (he specializes in stating as fact predictions that never come to pass), I believe he understands the Clintons’ character almost as well as anyone. This is a man who knew them intimately enough to, as he relates the story, be physically tackled by an enraged Bill in the Arkansas governor’s mansion and then told by Hillary, “He only does this to people he loves.” So if he swears the Clintons were playing the race card, I take it seriously.

What I am doubtful of is that it would work.

Stop Illegal Immigration NOW Or Immigrants Will Soon Out Vote You

-By Warner Todd Huston

I have a neighbor named George. He and his family have been great neighbors. We’ve exchanged gifts, attended parties together, helped each other out from time to time with one thing or another. Our kids have been friends. I like them all. They’re really great folks.

However, all but the father and one son out of a family of six are illegal immigrants by way of Mexico.

Last year, two of their sons got caught up by immigration and sent back to Mexico. George’s wife moved back to Mexico to be with her sons. George stays here with the eldest boy and their daughter. He works hard and misses his wife. Of course, she cannot come back because she was never a legal resident and has no papers.

It’s all a terribly rotten situation for George and his family and I know that I would be highly upset were I in his situation. But, his situation is not unlike that of millions of other families that have a mixture of legal and illegal members living in the U.S.

And therein lies a problem. Yes it is a problem for them, but it is also a problem for anyone interested in stricter border control and enforcing current immigration laws or creating new ones. And it is a problem that looms larger every single day. It is a problem that is born of our own democratic system: Voting.

You see, once a Mexican national (or other immigrant) becomes a legal, voting resident he comes to have his fair, democratic say in the process. Ordinarily, it is a fine thing that a new citizen exercises his newfound duty to become a voter as a new member of our society. But, in this case, if that new voter has illegal immigrant family members, he comes to the polls with a built in prejudice against U.S. sovereignty and border control.

‘I’m a Grown Ass man’… man

-By Warner Todd Huston

OK, I’m a nearly 50 year-old white dude, so you won’t catch me trying to be “all that” with the kid’s Rap music. In fact, I hate the stuff. (I was listening to Beethoven, Glen Miller, U2 and the Police today, if that helps pinpoint me?) HOWEVER… and this is a big one, too… I am compelled to pass on the latest tune from Mr. Bomani D. Armah, the self-proclaimed “not a rapper” rapper.

You may recall the last time Mr. Armah appeared in my work? He wrote a tune that appeared on BET TV called “Read a Mo F***ing Book”. It was a tune that featured Mr. Armah seeming to attack the thug lifestyle and telling black kids to read a “Mo F’ing” book, brush their teeth, wear deodorant and to raise their own children, etc. It raised quite a stir last year.

Since I wasn’t familiar with Mr. Armah’s work at the time, I was a bit puzzled by it all. I couldn’t be sure if he was denigrating the thug lifestyle and urging black Americans to better habits or what. I am now convinced that he was and he was doing so in the gutter language that he felt the kids would respond to. I cannot condone the language, but the sentiment is at least a good one. Personally, I can think of more upstanding ways to pass along a message of responsibility… but that’s just little old, un-hip me.

Well Mr. Armah is back with a new tune called “I’m A Grown Ass Man.”

Here he is telling young black men to raise their children, have grown up plans, and stop acting like punks. I have to say, it isn’t just a message for black kids, either. It is a message that every American male-child should hear and hear often, black, white or what have you. It is also one that they are not getting as often as they should, sadly.

Now, one thing is for sure. You can bet that the MSM will ignore this tune. They won’t want to be caught dead playing a tune that urges kids to grow up and act like a responsible men! It just ain’t the with it thing! (um… do they even say “with it” anymore?)

Anyway, I love the jazzy tune under the rap, too. I can’t help thinking of the work of Chick Corea when I hear it. There’s some good stuff there. All I can say is hear, hear. Good work Bomani D. Armah.

AP: Fans Flames of Race Hatred With Focus on MLKing/Robert E. Lee Day

-By Warner Todd Huston

The day after we celebrated the national holiday of the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr., the Associated Press published a story seemingly meant to stir race hatred by bringing up the fact that in the state of Arkansas the memorial recognition of Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s birthday is on the same day as that of King’s observance there. Trying to fan the flames of racism by bringing up a Confederate general, the AP even seems to complain that Martin Luther King Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas is a shorter street than Robert E. Lee Avenue! How petty of the AP, eh? It’s all not very I-have-a-deamish of the AP to so pointlessly fan these race flames, is it?

With the pointed headline, “Arkansas Lauds MLK, Gen. Lee on Same Day,” and reminding us that King is a “slain civil rights leader,” the AP wags a finger and lets us know about the confluence of celebration of the two men’s birthdays.

While the nation honors the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, three states celebrate another man as well. In Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi, the slain civil rights leader shares a state holiday with Robert E. Lee, commanding officer of the Confederate Army.

And, yes, the AP did delight in pointing out that King’s street is shorter than Lee’s…

Streets bearing their names intersect in Little Rock, though Lee Avenue is much longer than King Drive.

Hoisted With Their Politically-correct Petards

By Selwyn Duke

What goes around certainly does come around. The first black president’s wife isn’t black enough to be immune from charges of bigotry.

Isn’t it delicious?

I am, of course, speaking of the recent Democrat race war.

Now, let’s be fair. When Hillary Clinton praised Lyndon Johnson for signing the Civil Rights Act, she wasn’t subordinating Martin Luther King to him, nor do her husband’s initials suddenly stand for Bull Connor because he likened Obama’s policies to a fairytale (what was the big deal? Was he questioning Obama’s sexuality?). There were no racial overtones.

That’s the beauty of it.

AP Talks MLK’s Forgotten ‘Complexity’ Forgets his Plagiarism & Communist Ties

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the national holiday that celebrates the birth of famed civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr., the AP decided to remind us all that there was more to King than the popularized view of him affords. AP says that it is a shame that King has been “frozen in a moment in time that ignores the full complexity of the man and his message.” Who can disagree with this? After all, very often notable historical figures end up being turned into cardboard cartoons known for that one “frozen moment” in history that made them famous. But, even as the AP argues that we should learn more about the whole of MLK’s life and take a more measured look at his life and works, the AP itself whitewashes several aspects of his real life. AP never mentions, for instance, his ties with communists nor do they mention that he had a life long record of plagiarizing, most notably with his doctoral thesis. They don’t mention his distrust of capitalism nor his support of the concept of special treatment and quotas, an idea that strays from his acclaimed position of “equal” treatment. So, the AP may want us to avoid putting Dr. King “on a pedestal of perfection,” but it is also a fact that they only want us to know some of King’s real record instead of all of it as they claim.

The AP has taken the occasion of King’s holiday celebration to remind us all that the eeevil government was wary of him toward the end of his life, to tell us that “by taking on issues outside segregation, he had lost the support of many newspapers and magazines, and his relationship with the White House had suffered.”

Yes, it is definitely true that King was not the universally loved character that he has been mythologized as today. And, we really should take the time to learn more about our famous American historical figures, just as the AP advises us to do. So, let’s look a bit at some of King’s warts to balance the gauzy portrait we are used to seeing.

Now let us be clear right off the top, here. King’s whole record — even that with which many of us will thoroughly disagree — does not detract from the salient fact that he was a seminal leader in bringing the U.S. out of its racial oppression. His leadership was transformational for shining the light of liberty upon a segment of the country that was held back by ignorant custom and racial hatred. But, just as the AP urges, his whole life’s record really should be known so that we can take a full measure of the man.

Let us start with the fact that Dr. King had a long record of plagiarizing his work starting with his doctoral dissertation from Boston University. As reported in 1991, a Boston University investigation concluded that King had plagiarized much of his dissertation. “King included in his dissertation a good deal of material taken verbatim from a variety of other sources without proper attribution (or any attribution at all), an act which constitutes plagiarism by any reasonable academic standard.”

Was Martin Luther King, Jr. a Good Man?

-Don Boys, Ph.D.

Martin Luther King’s statement that a person should be judged by his character not the color of his skin is a majestic thought. I will do that as I look at King, and I wonder if radical leftists, King worshipers, white liberals, black non-thinkers, media moguls and others will do the same? Some “conservatives” need to do likewise!

Some will object to my research, questioning my motives but do my motives really matter? Isn’t it the truth that is important? Don’t people of character care about truth anymore?

Richard John Neuhaus said of King: “Dr. King was, for all that was great about him, an adulterer, sexual libertine, lecher, and wanton womanizer.” Neuhaus is a well-known liberal theologian and writer. My research also indicates that King was a drunk, plagiarist, bisexual, and Marxist. Try to remember that we are not concerned with his race or complexion, but his character.

If I were looking at David Duke and did not deal with his past involvement with the Nazi movement, I would be accused of bias or poor research. In the interest of truth am I not required to do the same with King? If not, then why is he exempt from a careful, honest look at his past to make a decision about him in the present? If I am wrong, please correct me.

‘What’s the Problem’ With Spanish in the Workplace?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Here’s a guy that really misses the point of a debate. In New Jersey’s Home News Tribune, columnist Roger Hernandez is asking why everyone is so hot and bothered about English Only legislation and claims that Spanish being spoken… well, everywhere… should be no problem for anyone. In fact, he claims that it isn’t really happening that much, anyway, so fear about it is unfounded. But, his view on the matter misses the point that it is government forcing the Spanish language via lawsuits and government intervention on the nation that English Only supporters are trying to oppose, not just the evolutions of society itself.

Writing about Lamar Alexander’s proposed legislation, the Protecting English in the Workplace Act of 2007, and using that as his springboard to lambast the English Only trend, Hernandez scoffs at anyone interested in protecting our national character via protecting English.

Alexander (a sensible moderate Republican, once upon a time) and the right-wing blogosphere are framing it as a fight to preserve our supposedly vulnerable linguistic unity.

But, after recounting the efforts to protect English, Hernandez goes off track, attacking the English Only idea from the entirely wrong direction.

It is true that the common language of the United States is English, and that it is difficult to succeed without learning it. The problem is that both questions stem from the false premise that immigrants are tearing apart the national fabric with their refusal to speak English.

Not completely, Mr. Hernandez. “The problem is” that government is being used by criminal immigrant’s “rights” activists who are attempting to sue their desires into law by constant lawsuit abuse intended to make us all bend over backwards for people who are breaking our nation’s laws on a daily basis.

AP Blaming US Border Agents for Illegals/Drug Dealer’s Violence

-By Warner Todd Huston

US border agents have been increasingly suffering physical attacks at the hands of drug traffickers and illegal entrants across the southern border, “nearly 1,000 times during a one-year period,” AP reports. Naturally, this has caused the US border patrol to step up their replies and the levels of force they use to subdue these attacks — after all, should our agents just take being attacked by flying rocks and bullets without reply? But, what does the AP report in theirs titled, “Border Patrol’s counteroffensive riles Mexico”? They report that the Mexicans are mad at us. AP makes it appear as if we are at fault because they are increasing in their level of violence to which we are forced to reply.

Check out the sympathy that the AP offers Mexicans living near the border…

The Border Patrol says its agents were attacked nearly 1,000 times during a one-year period along the Mexican border, typically by assailants hurling rocks, bottles and bricks. Now the agency is responding with tear gas and powerful, pepper-spray weapons, including firing into Mexico.

The counteroffensive has drawn complaints that innocent families are being caught in the crossfire.

“A neighbor shouted, ‘Stop it! There are children living here,” said Esther Arias Medina, 41, who on Wednesday fled her Tijuana, Mexico, shanty with her 3-week-old grandson after the infant began coughing from smoke that seeped through the walls.

First of all, AP quotes someone who claims they saw a “neighbor” who “fled” with her child, but does not interview the actual woman herself. AP broke the very first rule in reporting: verification. After that, the following sentence AP gives us is this one…

The Indians Just Quit US! …Or DID They?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Sioux Indians “Withdraw From the USA”? Or not!

Here is the kind of story that really proves how little the MSM bothers to research things, how they often simply print glorified press releases without doing any real “journalism,” and how the defective end product gets picked up and regurgitated like it is suddenly a “fact.” In this one we have the story of “the Lakota Sioux Indians” announcing that “they” have withdrawn from agreed upon treaties with the US government and that they are now a sovereign nation, no longer to be called citizens of the USA. Problem is “the Lakota Sioux Indians” that have made this announcement are just an unaffiliated group of Indian activists the leader of whom does not represent the official Lakota tribe leadership! Yet here is the news media reporting this story as if all “the Lakota Sioux Indians” have banded together and quit the union.

Take this report from USA Today: Lakota withdraw from treaties, declare independence from U.S.

The Lakota Sioux Indians, whose ancestors include Sitting Bull, Red Cloud and Crazy Horse, have withdrawn from all treaties their forefathers signed with the U.S. government and have declared their independence. A delegation delivered the news to the State Department earlier this week.

Wow, it sounds momentous, alright. But, who says that “the Lakota Sioux Indians” have abandoned their treaties?

“We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,” said Russell Means, a longtime Indian rights activist. “This is according to the laws of the United States, specifically Article 6 of the Constitution,” which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land.

And who is this Russell Means? He is a long time Indian activist and sometimes Hollywood actor who does not officially represent any tribe, that’s who. It takes the local press to make this clear. The Rapid City Journal of Rapid City, South Dakota informs us that, “Means’ group is based in Porcupine on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation,” and that “it is not an agency or branch of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Means ran unsuccessfully for president of the tribe in 2006.”

Yet in report after report, this Means character is presented as if he is “the Lakota Sioux” when, in truth, all he really is, is A Lakota Sioux — not a representative of all of them. He does not represent American Indians except as a tangential, activist. He has no authority to make this “declaration of Independence” from the U.S.A. for “the” Lakota or any other American Indian tribe for that matter.

Israel, America and the History of one very Wicked Man
-By Resa LaRu Kirkland

We never learn.

I know, you’ve heard it before. And yet, here we are…again.

As a history lover, I cannot help but notice the trends, cycles, behaviors, and consequences that humanity has repeated since leaving Eden. Oddly enough, in spite of the diversity of this planet, there are some things that are the same no matter where, when, or to whom they happen. Those are the things of eternal consequence, the things that truly matter when all the fluff and distraction of life is tossed aside.

They are what happens when good people choose evil.

Yea, and we also see the great wickedness one very wicked man can cause to take place among the children of men.–Book of Mormon, Alma 46:9

It has never ceased to amaze me that no matter which tribe of Israel you study–the Bible is about the tribe of Judah and the Book of Mormon is about some of the descendants of Judah’s little brother Joseph, who left Jerusalem in about 600 BC and traveled by ship to the promised land of America–there is the same cycle. The people start out righteous, constantly seeking to do good. As a result, God blesses them with great gifts of knowledge, technology, wealth, abundance, peace and wisdom.

But then a curious thing happens, a thing that inevitably leads to THE ONE INEXORABLE TRUTH, a truth that Father knows but that we have to learn over and over again, and usually the hard way. Please follow me through the progression, as there are several steps that lead to the final, full understanding of this eternal truth.

Dick Simpson Whitewashing 60s Radicals

-By Warner Todd Huston

They always say that the passage of time sometimes dulls the memory of a person’s past, that oft times only the good memories remain. More often, though, time plus a large dollop of myth making and lies creates a whole new world out of the past. Dick Simpson is more evidence of the later than the former. In a whitewashing of the foolishness and destruction wrought by his anti-American comrades in the vaunted “summer of love,” Chicago Sun-Times columnist Simpson wonders “Can we revive ’60s-era ideals?” Surely, anyone who has a clear memory of those tumultuous days would quickly reply, “I sure hope not!”

To start with, Simpson ridiculously presents as fact at least one of the arguments for what the country “faced” in 1967 as framed by the radical leftists that formed the emerging counter culture of the 60s. He states in a factual way that the country, “faced three great crises: racial discrimination, the Vietnam War, and the imperial presidency in which all executive, legislative and judicial power was being gathered into the hands of the president.”

Now, who cannot agree with his first two issues? But that third one in retrospect is as silly as it gets. If LBJ — who was the Democrat president in 1967 and 1968, as you know — had created an “imperial presidency” in which was vested “all executive, legislative and judicial power” then why did he have to bow out of running for a second full term in the upcoming 1968 presidential election during those same years? LBJ did make a mash of Vietnam, it is true, but to imagine he had created the so-called “imperial presidency” that the country “faced” as a problem is not a rendition of the factual situation in 1967 but is merely a parroting of the uninformed opinion of the 60s hippies that began their efforts to undermine society at that time.

Now, the only real quibble Simpson’s uninformed contemporaries had with LBJ was his conduct of the war yet Simpson includes civil rights as an issue they protested for and an issue this legitimately nation faced. But LBJ was a leading figure in helping to push the civil rights agenda so Simpson’s protesters could hardly have had too much against Johnson on that count. State laws and practices were far more the obstacle to civil rights than Federal, in the final analysis. Yet, Simpson uncritically regurgitates the far left’s talking points even this far removed from the era when any unbiased review of the real history of the era proves those claims to be balderdash by now.

In his next colorful paragraph he continues to employ the failed assumptions of the losers in the counter culture movement quite despite sense and reality.

Philly Inquirer: Pistol Packing GOP Candidates at Debates

-By Warner Todd Huston

Apparently, the Philly Inquirer wants us to know that the GOP candidates for president are drooling, half sentient, Bible thumping, gun toting, racists. Oh, and Fred Thompson is stupid and lazy. Just as apparently, the Philadelphia Inquirer is having trouble finding writers for their rag. I mean, what else could explain their giving a teenager a shot at filling space in the Sunday issue? Of course, I could be wrong. It could be that Dick Polman only writes like a 15-year-old. Worse, Polman seems to have sold himself to the Inquirer as some sort of comedian with “The American Debate, For the love of guns, God and Reagan,” too. But, if he IS an adult and really does think his Sunday piece is funny, well, there’s no accounting for taste — or sense — on the far left, I suppose. I guess the joke is on the readers of the Inquirer.

Billed as “what the GOP candidates might say in the next Iowa debate to woo conservatives,” Polman has decided the only thing that will do so is to appear as a gun crazed, racist that mindlessly echos Ronald Reaganisms. Like I said, it was supposed to be funny… I guess.

All the Republican presidential candidates will debate, again, on Wednesday in Iowa. Here’s an exclusive look at the advance transcript.

And here is what Polman imagines is the first question:

All these candidates have said they support guns. But talk is cheap. I want to know if they’re all proudly carrying their own guns, right now, right here on this stage.

Gentlemen, a show of hands . . . oh, my . . . that’s quite an arsenal up there. Somebody nudge Fred Thompson, wake him up. Sen. Thompson? Hello? What do you have?

So, what does Polman imagine the candidates will say?

Fred Thompson: Uhhh, got me a AP4 carbine rifle with a 16-inch barrel. This little ole honey would have surely impressed Ronald Reagan.

Rudy Giuliani: So what? Mine’s a bolt-action Remington. With a 24-inch barrel. Mine’s bigger than yours. And that’s not all I got. Say hello to my Charter Arms .44. It’s ideal for home defense against Islamofascists, because 9/11 changed everything. By the way, fuggedaboutit, I can see that there’s one wuss on this stage.

Mitt Romney: Yes, it’s true: I am not armed at this time. But I did just buy a gun cabinet for Christmas, and I have the receipt right here, with copies for everyone, see? From Dick’s Sporting Goods, and, my gosh, it’s a beauty. Wood veneer, tempered glass, holds six long guns

(Candidates scrutinize the receipt. Civil cross talk.)

You can just feel that Leno’s bookers are getting on the phone to book this funny man on the Tonight Show, eh? On second thought, he shouldn’t give up his job at McDonald’s just in case. There’s an old joke about comedy that comedians like to throw out: “Don’t try this at home, kids.” It’s a bit of advice that neither Dick Polman nor the Philly Inquirer seem to have followed.

Muslims Attack Michael Savage: The Battle Between Taquiya and Talk Radio

By Selwyn Duke

You will have to forgive me, but I have a difficult time taking the war against Moslem extremists seriously. No, I haven’t become the latest in a line of anti-American quislings who say the war is “all about oil” or that Islamism is not a threat. It’s just that I have trouble mustering enthusiasm for overseas ventures when we allow the enemy’s fifth column to operate virtually unopposed on our shores.

I’m talking about the odious Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that could be the legal arm of al-Qaeda. Although CAIR’s machinations usually go unmentioned by the mainstream media, for quite some time now it has been training its sights on anyone who would tackle the Islamic threat with manly strength. It has carried out campaigns against National Review magazine, radio personality Paul Harvey, the producers of the television program 24, and many others who dare say the sultan has no clothes. And now it is targeting award-winning radio talk show host Michael Savage.

CAIR has been pressuring Savage’s advertisers to pull their spots from his show, and I’m dismayed to learn that some businesses have capitulated to their demands. Among these cowardly companies are AutoZone, TrustedID, OfficeMax, Citrix Systems Inc., and JCPenny. I will have them know that as long as they dance with the Devil and boycott Savage’s show, I will boycott them and encourage others to follow suit. And I have a very long memory.

It’s not surprising that business would kneel at the altar of political correctness, as it worships mammon. And, in truth, many people – the good, the bad and the ugly – use their economic clout to try to effect social change; why, some on my side in the culture war are boycotting Ford because it supports the homosexual lobby. But I really have to wonder if these companies know to whom they’re kowtowing. Let’s take a closer look at CAIR.

Stereotyping 101

-By Selwyn Duke

In a racial profiling lawsuit against the Maryland State Police (MSP), a plaintiff’s attorney named Eliza Leighton said that some training documents contain “startling examples of racial stereotypes about Hispanics.” (Just so you know, when leftists use the word “startling,” it usually means, “Man, this truth hurts!”) According to the Associated Press:

For example, one document cautions that Hispanics generally do not hold their alcohol well. They tend to drink too much and this leads to fights. And it notes, Hispanic males are raised to be MACHO and brave, while females are raised to be subservient. Other sterotypes [sic] include the assertion that the weapon of choice for Hispanics is a knife and that Hispanics are reluctant to learn English.

Regardless of the outcome of this lawsuit, we can now expect such information to be purged from the training documents. But, as I wrote about Dr. James Watson’s comments regarding Africans, intelligence and genetics, this is part of a very distressing pattern. Everyone fixates on the fact that such comments constitute generalizations (about groups that are supposed to be immune from such things), as if this is an offense in and of itself. Yet, no one seems to ask the only relevant question.

Are the generalizations true?

AUTOPSY — Murdering Freedom

-By Resa LaRu Kirkland

It all began with the following letter that I emailed to Dog’s website, and then sent out to my mailing list to rouse support for Duane Chapman:

Dear DOG,

I left a phone message at the following phone number: 808-***-**** for you regarding his use of the word Nigger. (See? The world didn’t end…it’s just a damn word, the one thing that the Constitution ensures is free for all to use with no restrictions saving those of violence or panic.)

I wrote to you last week regarding your father, as I am a Military Historian whose focus is on the Korean War, and I wanted to know your dad’s story. I also write conservative commentary online, known as the WARCHICK, and am good friends with Bob Parks. He, too, is a conservative commentator who cannot stand the enslavement and fear-based power of the leftist blacks.(You should see what his fellow blacks called HIM when he dared to write about their wretched behavior after Katrina. No one covered those words–far worse than Nigger–and Bob somehow survived) There is no one more kind, decent, or intelligent on this subject. He deplores the idea–as we all should!–that in a nation of free speech we inexplicably have words that, if uttered, can cause a man to lose his job, business, home, possessions, and even his freedom. I, too, have written about this and discussed it on my radio show:

Hayworth-Nadler, Closer Than it Seems – Immigration and the GOP

-By Warner Todd Huston

Over the last month there has been a donnybrook of sorts in the pages of the Wall Street Journal between Richard Nadler, the president of America’s Majority Foundation, and former Congressman J.D. Hayworth of Arizona. At issue is exactly why Mr. Hayworth lost his last bid for reelection to the House of Representatives in 2006. Nadler claims it was J.D.’s overzealous illegal immigration policy suggestions that culminated in a “deportationist policy” revealing an antipathy toward Hispanics that caused Hispanic and white voters to consider Hayworth an extremist on the issue making them shy away from pulling the lever for him in the voting booth. Hayworth, for his part, lays the blame for his loss on the perennial need of voters to occasionally vote an incumbent out of office — a “six-year itch” as he calls it. Hayworth also says that president Bush’s failures to control the border caused the voters to react in frustration at him simply because he is a member of the president’s party.

I had the occasion at the Conservative Leadership Conference in Reno during the second week of October to interview both men in separate interviews, asking them similar questions in order to compare and contrast their positions. What I came away with was that, once stripped of the element of personal pique, the two men were surprisingly close on their thoughts and ideas on the issue of illegal immigration. It turns out they just weren’t that far apart after all.

Not to be insulting to either Nadler or Hayworth, this little fracas is remarkably like a revenge of the nerds against the jocks. Nadler, stoop shouldered, furtive and lugging an over stuffed leather valise, greeted me with a peevish grin when we first met. As we spoke in the entryway of the meeting hall in preparation for the interview, he paced, deep in thought, passionately relating his points and ideas to me. I felt like I was watching a university professor presenting a lecture. I also got the feeling that Nadler expected to be roughly treated by everyone he came across at this conservative gathering because he feared that our “homeboys,” as he put it, were not too keen on hearing about policies that comforted Hispanics. On the other hand, Hayworth was a force of nature. Tall, commanding, well tanned, not lacking for any passion himself, and, like the consummate politician he is, always mindful to use your name in conversation. Hayworth is the very picture of the ex-jock, Nadler the ex-nerd. I couldn’t help but to get the vague feeling that Nadler derived a bit of a thrill from taking on the big guy as a wry smile constantly stole across his face as we talked.

Still, it’s the issues that matter here and at first it seemed that the two were as widely separated in their positions on those issues as they are in physical appearance with those positions themselves being at the extremes of the spectrum within the conservative viewpoint. Nadler appears to be an open boarder economist type and, in Rovian fashion, ready to bend principle to any measure that will get the Hispanic vote and assure the GOP a seat at the table of power for the foreseeable future. Hayworth appears to be a raging nativist, anti-immigrant advocate who has no problem throwing away the very power Nadler wishes to cement in place if it means stopping “them” from getting into the country.

KMYL Radio: Calling Rapist Hispanic is ‘Racist’

-By Warner Todd Huston

If a person of Hispanic origin rapes a woman and, in an attempt to catch this violent criminal, police publish a description identifying the suspect’s general racial makeup, is that a “racist” thing to do? Apparently the folks at KMYL (1190 AM) in the metro Phoenix, Arizona area think it is. It appears that we cannot even discuss the basic appearance of a wanted criminal now without being “racist” about it all.

The story comes to us from The East Valley Tribune, where the paper quotes the vice president for programming at KMYL as saying that calling a criminal an Hispanic is “racial profiling.” And what is her reasoning?

(Mayra) Nieves said Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race — and many Hispanics are white or black. She said ethnicity should not be used when describing an attacker. Instead she said she would describe the Chandler Rapist as having “dark skin.”

Even her “explanation” contradicts itself. If a “Hispanic” can be white or black, why should the rapist be called “dark skinned”? After all, what is the definition of “dark”? To an albino, even a white person is dark skinned… or can I say albino without somehow being a racist?

Is it really a racist thing when we are given a generalized description of a wanted criminal’s race or is it just good police work? It would seem to anyone with an ounce of sense that the later is the answer here. After all, if police are looking for a white Ford Bronco, should the police report describe the auto in oblique terms? (Such as calling the vehicle a “somewhat colorless, large car American that could be thought of as a sport utility vehicle, not that we are impugning all SUVs.”) Or should the police just say it is a white Ford Bronco? Which one would more easily get the public to lend assistance with finding the vehicle?

Macon, Georgia: Race Baiters Flourish at City Hall

-By Warner Todd Huston

Macon’s The Telegraph gave us some clear proof that substance and seriousness is not the standard operating procedure for the denizens of the city government there. In the story titled “Insensitive e-mail raises race concerns at City Hall” we find an innocent, straight forward emailed suggestion to save the city some cash turned into an excuse to beat the tired race drum by city officials whoa re more interested in displays of their faux outrage than in doing city business.

At issue is an innocent email sent by a citizen of Macon to a member of the city council that recommended that prisoners be hired to spruce up the Macon City Auditorium in preparation for the Oprah TV show that is scheduled to be filmed there on November 17th.

Naturally, the Mayor of Macon, Jack Ellis, was kind enough to tell Oprah that he’d spend any amount of the tax payer’s money to be sure his auditorium was ready for the Oprah filming. I wasn’t aware that a city was required to pay for their Mayor’s bout of starstuck, hero worship but apparently our good Mayor disagrees. Anything for his Oprah… no matter HOW much it’ll cost YOU!

But, we will have to save the discussion of the waste of taxpayer’s cash for another time because the Macon city Council has bigger catfish to fry…

Old Warhorse Losing His Kick

-By Frederick Meekins

As the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colin Powell at one time (whether deservedly or not) had a reputation as a voice of sober realism in the arena of American foreign policy. However, as he ages and heads into his sunset years, he is so increasingly muttering to himself about assorted forms of appeasement that he is coming to remind the citizen cognizant of the efforts to undermine this great nation more of Neville Chamberlain than as a soldier the statesman most perceived him to be throughout the early 90’s.

During the 1930’s, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed a pact with Adolf Hitler granting the German tyrant Czechoslovakia as part of what Nazi doctrine referred to as Lebensarum or “Living Space”. For his part of this deal, Chamberlain has from that point forward pretty much been branded a coward for thinking such a policy would appease aspiring despots and those out to undermine individual liberty.

As disappointing as he was, at least it was some lesser power’s real estate Chamberlain was giving away. For today, his globalist descendants are such proponents of policide that they are no longer content to carve up the helpless corners of the earth but rather long to dismantle the strong nation-states in which they themselves reside in the hopes of accruing more power into their own hands and control over the lives of those under them.

It’s All Just a Noose-ance

-By Warner Todd Huston

In case no one has noticed, it’s 2007, nearly 2008. The era in America when a noose was a clear and present threat to a black person in America has gone… thank God. So, why has an innocent sanitation worker in Muncie, Indiana been handed the longest suspension in the city’s history? Because he displayed a Halloween decoration.

Yes, the very social fabric of Muncie is threatened over a Halloween decoration.

There is no doubt that a noose is a touchy issue for the history of black America. I have always been haunted by photos of lynched blacks from the early and mid 1900’s in which grinning white children and matronly white mothers peer at the camera lens contentedly as a black man’s body dangles above them. The holiday atmosphere of those happy faces juxtaposed against the grisly crime that brought them together angers and saddens me. And even more haunting to me is that I was alive in that time it not being one of hundreds of years past. But I will not say anything like “let us hope we learned our lesson” and at last arrived at an era where such a thing as a lynching would never happen. I won’t say “hope” because we have learned that lesson. We have arrived at a day when Americans into the 90th percentile would be so repulsed by the thought of lynching a black man merely for being black that such a crime would be far outside the realm of the probable — the fact of man’s inhumanity against man set aside as taken for granted.

But, common sense, fairness, and intelligence are rarely the hallmarks of government as the officious oafs in Muncie have well proven.

I Have A Dream

-By Nancy Morgan

Martin Luther King’s ‘Dream’ has fallen by the wayside. His ‘dream’ of having blacks judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin is no closer to being realised than it was more than 40 years ago when he first articulated his vision of a color free future.

Not, as current black ‘leaders’ assert, because racism is alive and well in America. But because the current politically correct orthodoxy has effectively banned any type of judgement. All judgement is now off limits. (Unless you’re one of the lucky few who does the judging.) Judging others has been deemed at best, hurtful. At worst, a hate crime. Thus, any reference which challenges the liberal template of race, such as, say, having an opinion, has become a social crime with very real penalties.

The latest casualty of this perverse policy is one of the world’s most highly regarded scientists, Dr. James Watson, who won a Nobel Prize for the discovery of the structure of DNA. The wrath of the left has descended upon Dr Watson for daring to opine that intelligence, IQ, may vary among different races.

Set aside the fact that his assertion may hold some merit, as proven by Charles Murray and Abigail Thernston’s ‘Bell Curve’ study. The fact is that Dr Watson dared to challenge the left’s holy trinity of race, i.e.:

All blacks are victims of racism
Whatever misfortune befalls them is Whitey’s fault
America is still a racist nation.

Can We Please Define “Racism”?

-By Selwyn Duke

James Watson, the geneticist who helped unravel the structure of DNA, came under fire for saying that Africans are not as intelligent as Westerners. Aside from his remarks being deemed baseless and unscientific, he has quite predictably been labeled “racist.” Why, some thought police even want him charged under Britain’s Orwellian “racial hatred laws” (Watson is conducting a speaking tour in Britain presently).

In light of this tendency to apply the “R-word,” one that claims as victims late sportscaster Jimmy “the Greek” Snyder, manager of the Cincinnati Reds Dusty Baker, former baseball commissioner Al Campanis, late NFL player Reggie White and many others, I have a question.

What is “racism”?

Is it simply voicing beliefs about differences among races? Am I a racist if I say that blacks have darker skin and frizzier hair? No, I suppose not. What about if I point out that blacks commit an inordinate amount of crime and that 70 percent of black children are born out-of-wedlock, versus 27 percent for whites? Well, in our culture that is borderline. But why? On what basis should we determine what is “racist”?

Pin the Noose on the Honky

-By Lee Culpepper

Ramming multiculturalism, diversity, and intolerant-tolerance down the throats of captive students keeps many public schools quite busy. But unwelcome menaces like critical thinking and factual history jeopardize this multicultural indoctrination of students; consequently, many politically correct educators have fought shamelessly and successfully to abolish these perceived “threats” from their classrooms. While PC terms often sound nontoxic and even advantageous, they have actually served to strangle the ability to think.

The disturbing news from Jena, Louisiana, elucidates my point. Racial mayhem has struck this small town. There we have two racial sub-cultures that clearly expose the foolishness of the PC agenda engulfing America. Multicultural zealots insist that all cultures are equal. In fact, they encourage individuals to mindlessly celebrate the culture in which they were born – especially if an individual’s culture runs diametrically opposite to America’s productive melting-pot society. Even more troublesome, to support assimilating into America’s mainstream traditions equates to an abominable sin in multiculturalism’s pagan religion.

On the other hand, the two cultures clashing in Jena help to expose political correctness for the sham that it is. If these two sub-cultures (one white, one black) of American society are equal to every other culture, then what’s the problem? Obviously, these two cultures are counterproductive for the people who live them – that’s the problem! Many other worldly cultures are counterproductive, too. Muslims who see all non-Muslims as infidels — worthy of slaughter — is a relevant example.

Still Selma after all these years

-By Michael M. Bates

Jesse Jackson is getting some richly deserved criticism for charging Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) is “acting like he’s white” when it comes to the racially charged incident in Jena, Louisiana. Since shooting his mouth off, Jackson’s backed away, claiming he either doesn’t remember saying any such thing or that his words were taken out of context, whichever excuse you’ll buy.

If you’re as old as dirt like me, the occurrence is reminiscent of Jesse calling Jews “Hymie” back in the mid-1980s. A faulty memory can be so terribly cathartic sometimes.

Jackson also asserted last week that if he were a presidential candidate, “I’d be all over Jena. Jena is a defining moment, just like Selma was a defining moment.”

The 1965 marches from Selma, Alabama were a major turning point in the civil rights movement. On what’s known as “Bloody Sunday,” several hundred marchers were attacked by police with clubs and tear gas.

Jackson’s comparing Jena to Selma would have greater impact if he didn’t have a history of equating so many other things to Selma. To be sure, Mr. Jackson was indeed present. In a 1988 piece on Jackson, Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist David Maraniss wrote: “Andrew Young remembers Jackson in Selma as a guy that nobody knew, giving orders to other marchers. (Ralph) Abernathy remembers Jackson doing errands and asking him for a job on the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference) staff.”

Nonetheless, Jackson’s experiences there must have been life-changing. Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. told a 1997 graduating class: “My father was so emotionally caught up in the struggle and so moved by that occasion that he almost named me Selma. But thank God for Momma’s better judgment.”
