At a recent campaign event on so-called “gun violence,” Hillary Clinton said Americans own too many guns and then said she’d do something about this “problem” when she becomes president. What else could this mean but confiscation?
Clinton was speaking at round-table-like forum on guns held at St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where she insisted we have too many guns.
“When it comes to guns? We have just too many guns,” Hillary said to the applause of those in attendance. “On the streets, in our homes, in our neighborhoods.”
She went on to say America must address the “epidemic” of guns and hinted that if she were to become president she would do something about it all. But what would that “doing something” look like?
Well, it must be remembered that last year Clinton spoke positively about the gun confiscation policy imposed on the people of Australia. Clinton said the Australian policy is one “worth considering” and said it could be imposed using the Obama program “Cash for Clunkers” as a model.
Clinton noted, though, that there is opposition to her anti-gun ideas. Naturally, instead of acknowledging that her hatred of the Second Amendment is a view not shared by millions of Americans, Hillary tried to make the issue seem to be one of faceless gun-supporting lobbyists standing against “the people” as opposed to millions of regular American gun owners standing against her and her anti-gun compatriots.
“And, you know, there’s been a lot of talk in this campaign, in the primary campaign, about the power of certain interests in our country,” Clinton said. “And we do have a bunch of powerful interests, make no mistake about it. But there is no more powerful lobby than the gun lobby. None.”
“They’re only just getting warmed up, I’m fully aware of that.” she concluded.
But this liberal narrative that only those dreaded “lobbyists” are pushing the pro-gun issue and they are only doing it for “gun companies” to make profits is a total lie. After all, the National Rifle Association has well over four million members. These members are average, everyday Americans who support their Second Amendment rights.
And it has to be realized that the number of people who take the time fill out a membership form and pay the fee to belong to the NRA is only a small number of the over one third of Americans who claim outright to own a gun. It should also be remembered that the NRA isn’t the only gun-centric organization out there for people to join.
The point here is the NRA isn’t just a bunch of money-hungry and faceless lobbyists working in secret for the evil gun manufacturers. The NRA represents real, normal, common Americans who support the NRA by the millions. And when Clinton tries to pretend that the NRA is just “lobbyists” she is discounting the votes of literally millions of Americans and trying to act as if they simply don’t exist.
This is the main reason why the left has lost this fight for so long. It is why despite the feverish efforts of Democrats all across the country we now have concealed carry laws in every single state — including all the extremely liberal states.
Extremist left wingers like Clinton simply can’t come to terms that tens of millions of voting Americans — including many rank and file Democrat voters — simply do not support liberal gun grabs.
