Rarely has a man made more of a fool of himself, than has Lou Dobbs with most of his recent post on his webpage on CNN.com. Rarely does one catch such a glimpse of self-importance, arrogance and assumptions of omniscience. It is so bad that Dobbs imagines himself enough of a soothsayer, enough of a scryer,* that he knows what Bush’s legacy will be even before Bush leaves office… if, according to Dobbs, the country is still even here when Bush steps down. Talk about wild-eyed, hyperbole. With people like Dobbs and Olberman, it is no wonder that no one believes what the MSM says. Their “act” is so outrageous, there is no way to take them seriously.
“Beware the lame duck,” Dobbs ominously warns with his headline in this piece, most of which is just a silly screed, where he worries that the country won’t last another 15 months.
Frankly, I spend more time worrying about whether or not the United States can survive the remaining 15 months of his ebbing presidency.
Oh, brother.
And in his arrogance, Dobbs assumes he somehow knows what Bush’s legacy will be with “historians” of the future.

This AP report is a perfect example of how the western media hasn’t the temerity to call things like they are, a perfect example of how it soft-sells the truth for fear of violating those vaunted codes of politically correct conduct — and why we could lose this war with a radical Islam that isn’t afraid of how they are perceived by their enemies. The weakness this time is displayed in an AP report titled 
This particular AP report is an interesting study in how the AP subtly backs the Democrats in their efforts to undermine the war effort and how they present the GOP as somehow lacking all support or being merely a blocking force in Congress instead of actually representing their constituent’s wishes. In the AP’s stylebook, Republican = bad and Democrat = good. In this case, funding for the troops is presented like an average fight over tax money and only the Demos side is discussed with no GOP views offered in the story.
This USA Today story about an AP report should be called headline abuse instead of “detainee abuse” because if one were to just read the headline and move on, you’d get the wrong impression about what the story really reveals. You’d obviously read USA Today’s headline, 
This one makes you want to say, “Captain Kirk to the Starship AP. Beam us up, there’s no intelligent life in the AP News Room.” on August 29th, the AP published a story scolding the U.S. Military for refusing to use a

Since the news came out that Jose Padilla had been convicted of being a terrorist by a US Court, many in the Media seem to refuse to acknowledge that the verdict is in. With a typical example, the AP, for instance, wants to focus more on what it feels the government did wrong than what Padilla did. I guess the AP thinks the US government is more guilty than is a convicted terrorist.
Since the opening of the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detainee facility in 2002, the Bush Administration has been under constant pressure to close the facility down. The existence of this facility is looked upon as an embarrassment to “freedom,” “liberty” and western ethics by its detractors and has served as a focal point of the anti-war movement the world over. Those against the facility maintain that it does more harm than good in our efforts against Islamofascist terror – if, that is, they even believe there is a problem with such terrorism in the first place. In any case, they want the thing closed down, the prisoners therein either remanded to civil authorities or released, and “civilized” people to denounce the entire concept.
