Abortion Provider Closes Doors Instead of Obeying Laws, Old Media Silent

-By Warner Todd Huston

Now here is an interesting little story that doesn’t seem to be getting any media coverage. In South Dakota after being held up in courts since 2005, a new law finally took effect on July 21 requiring any abortion doctor to read a statement covering the possible ill effects that abortions have on women — both mental and physical — at least two hours before the procedure occurs. The one Planned Parenthood office in South Dakota had taken the state to court to stop this law being implemented, but lost their case on the 18th. On the day the law was to take effect, though, the Planned Parenthood office did not open its doors for “business,” refusing to abide by the new laws. Doesn’t this refusal to operate tend to confirm that Planned Parenthood is in the game for ideological reasons as opposed to being only interested in women’s health?

This is a big defeat for Planned Parenthood, and a great victory for anti-abortion supporters yet the media is silent on the issue. That seems rather curious.

The new notification law requires a doctor to read a prepared script filled with the sort of info that PP tries desperately to exclude in their normal day-to-day operations. The Washington Post had a story about the new law on July 20.

Obama: Bringing Us Together Over Dead Bodies

-By Thomas E. Brewton

A man like Senator Obama, who is so callous with regard to God-given human life, is unworthy of holding public office.

Read The Audacity of Death in the Wall Street Journal to see the extent to which Senator Obama, a scion of the SDS radicals of the 1960s and 70s, embraces the amorality, if not complete immorality, of soulless, so-called scientific, philosophical materialism.

His indifference to human life comports well with that of the liberal-progressive intelligentsia in the 1930s, who defended Stalin’s barbarity and indifference to human life, so long as it was in the service of the latest liberal-socialist dogma.

The very groups (ACLU and Planned Parenthood) who today promote murder by abortion were, in the 1920s, promoting eugenics in order to reshape society in conformity with so-called scientific socialism. Their supporters, notably Madison Grant, wrote books to support eugenics for breeding an elite society that would promote the scientism and liberal-progressivism that had overtaken Ivy League schools and, at the beginning of the 20th century, had spawned the first degraded generation of American liberals.

Damon Wayans Advocates Black Genocide

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is an old joke that goes “Comedy isn’t pretty” and I believe that “comedian” Damon Wayans has really gone out of his way to prove the truth to this old saw.

He has a little project named wayoutTV with which he produces his “comedy” sketches for YouTube and other on-line video services. Recently he unleashed one called “Abortionman.” Remember this is supposed to be comedy.

In the video a young black man finds out his girlfriend is pregnant. The boy calls “Abortionman” who flies over to the girl’s place, he beats her unmercifully, until the fetus is beaten out of the poor girl to die on the sidewalk.

So, what is the message we are being exposed to? Abortion is funny? Violence against pregnant women is funny? Black boys who do not take responsibility for their actions is funny?

No, I think what we are seeing is that “comedian” Damon Wayans is advocating for the death of all black babies. Wayans wants a black genocide. He is obviously a fan of eugenics and wants to assist the white race to national hegemony.

Well, why can’t my version be right? After all, it makes more sense than the idea that Damon was trying to be funny!

Tennessee Democrats Torpedo Will of The People

-By Warner Todd Huston

If you can’t win the people over, lie cheat, hide behind arbitrary and arcane rules of government or use the courts to defeat the will of the people. That is the Democrat Party’s call to arms. Democrats love the people, fight for the little guy… unless those fools don’t agree with Democrats. Then, suddenly, “the people” have no say, are ignored and will find that their votes are meaningless. In short Democrats aren’t much on democracy and as the Blue Collar Muse reports, this same Democrat Party method holds true in Tennessee.

In Tennessee Senate bill SJR127 serves as the latest example of Democrats hiding from the people, thwarting their will, and using arcane rules of the Tenn. House of Representatives to doom legislation that most Tennesseans want passed. Even worse, the whole thing begins with activist judges knocking down the voice of the people.

In 2000, The Tenn. Supreme Court ruled that common sense abortion legislation passed by the state’s legislative branch was “unconstitutional.” As Ken Marrero of the BCM notes, “things like a 48 hour waiting period and full disclosure of the impact of having an abortion to any woman seeking one were thrown out. It is vital to note that none of this legislation prevented, in any way, a woman’s access to abortion. Just the opposite.”

“Once again,” Marrero says, “a small group of appointed individuals, set aside the will of the people as expressed through their duly elected representatives.”

Yale Student’s ‘Abortion Art’ Claim a Scam

Warner Todd Huston
**Now With UPDATE**

The Yale Daily News breathlessly informed us of a female student, art major Aliza Shvarts, who claimed that her senior art project was a documentation of nine months of self-induced miscarriages. Her goal, of course, was to “spark conversation” about “the relationship between art and the human body.” What is really the truth with this so-called “art” project, though, is that Shvarts has pulled the wool over the eyes of the Yale Daily News, the willing dupes who claim to be her professors, and anyone reading this story on Drudge and believing she really induced her own miscarriages. It’s all a hoax. Or if not an outright hoax, it’s a misleading tale of a girl who hasn’t a clue about how one becomes pregnant, what the fake drugs she took are really capable of doing, and the psychological pain of a real miscarriage.

It’s also proof that our sources of news rarely if ever employ any common sense in how they write up the news. A tiny bit of logic put to this story of “self-induced miscarriages” would reveal it to be all stuff and nonsense. But, no, what we get instead is the story reported as if it is fact and not the cynical efforts of a kid that just wants her 15 minutes of fame. It is also proof that the liberal side of the abortion debate leads the ideological mindset of the news.

Here is the story in the Yale Daily News:

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself “as often as possible” while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

Seems very grave and serious, doesn’t it? This girl put her body through the repeated physical abuse of impregnation and miscarriage for her “art.” If this were true, it would have been quite a physical ordeal. In fact, if it had really happened, I’d imagine that she might possibly have put her health, or at least her future ability to become pregnant, at risk. But, in truth she was likely never pregnant, she never had any “miscarriages” and there was nothing but common menstrual fluids resulting.

What was her “process”? How did she create these so-called miscarriages? She asked boys she knew to donate sperm (she claims she also asked them to have tests for sexually transmitted diseases), she supposedly implanted that sperm into herself, and then she took these claimed herbal concoctions misleadingly called “abortifacient drugs” to end the pregnancy with forced miscarriage.

The main question is, was she ever pregnant? I have to say most likely no. The “turkey baster” method of implanting semen for impregnation is very ineffective, though known to be successful. Sperm does not live for too long once it hits the open air, so implantation would had to have occurred quickly after the issuing of the fluids. So, to assume that this girl had actually impregnated herself is not a good bet. There is no indication that there was any sort of “controls” placed on her efforts at implantation and, since there was never once any medical care, there is no proof that she ever was pregnant at all.

Abortionist Happy to Kill — Free of all Moral Concern

-By Warner Todd Huston

Want to see a moral disconnect? Want to see a person with an utter inability to even understand the definition of words? Check out this abortioner on the website flicker.com… She calls herself peskymac. We find a woman in her late 30s who has never had children and who imagines herself qualified to tell other women about their “reproductive rights,” as if she had any knowledge of motherhood.

On her profile she thinks of herself as a “Knitter, artist, gardener, voracious reader, amateur chef, occasional skydiver, wannabe travel writer, professional fundraiser, and total novice photographer.’ Naturally she is a “Progressive liberal and political observer.” She is “married with a menagerie of pets.” You can read that to mean she’s never had kids and probably doesn’t want the bother of them. Lastly, we find that she is the “newly-minted fundraising director for a reproductive rights non-profit.”

Now that we know our lovely Mz peskymac better, we can get to her recent posting on the joys of baby killing and her revelations of a complete lack of morals.

YouTube Yanks Pro-Life Video, Allows Planned Parenthood Vids

-By Warner Todd Huston

Of course YouTube has every right to disallow any video they deem unworthy of their service, this goes without saying. But, when YouTube sets up it’s own criteria for removing a video and then removes videos that do not fit its own criteria, then we have cause to wonder if a particular reason for banning videos is one that is kept secret from users. That secret reason would be a certain political bias used by Youtube to eliminate content. And, naturally, that bias is in favor of leftist causes and against the conservative ones.

Such is obviously the case with the recent removal of a video created by the American Life League that criticizes several promiscuous Planned Parenthood condom advertisements. The videos were removed, according to Youtube, because of an “inappropriate nature” and also because of complaints by YouTube members. But, the claim by YouTube that the ALL’s ad breached Youtube’s “inappropriate nature” rule does not stand up to logic or scrutiny, nor does it seem to fit their own publicly stated rules.

Last Monday, ALL received an email message from YouTube announcing the decision. The ALL website reports that, “The e-mail sent to American Life League said, ‘After being flagged by members of the YouTube community and reviewed by YouTube staff, the video below has been removed due to its inappropriate nature.'”

YouTube’s stated rules, however, do not seem to apply to the banned ALL video. Some of those rules are as follows:

  • YouTube is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it’s a video of yourself, don’t post it on YouTube. Also, be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation. Please read our Safety Tips and stay safe on YouTube.
  • Don’t post videos showing bad stuff like animal abuse, drug abuse, or bomb making.
  • Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone getting hurt, attacked, or humiliated, don’t post it.
  • YouTube is not a shock site. Don’t post gross-out videos of accidents, dead bodies and similar things.
  • We encourage free speech and defend everyone’s right to express unpopular points of view. But we don’t permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity).

The ALL ad takes snapshots, and snippets of the Planned Parenthood ads and then uses those to formulate their own political discussion of the funding that PP gets from our tax dollars. The ALL ad also discusses the salacious content of the PP ads and points out how the PP ads promote promiscuity.

This is all fair game in the arena of political discussion, it is certain. ALL does not alter the ads, nor do they play the whole ads straight through. Some context from the ads is given after which ALL promotes their political reply. Since the banning of the ads does not seem to fit the stated rules announced by YouTube, one must imagine that the political viewpoint is what has been deemed “inappropriate.”

…I Am A RINO

-By Warner Todd Huston

That’s right, you read the title to this piece correctly. I am admitting that I am a RINO. I admit it openly, freely, with relish even.

For those unfamiliar, RINO is not only shorthand for rhinoceros, that great beast of the African plains, but it is also an acronym. It stands for, “Republican In Name Only” — RINO.

Now, I am not going to pull a fast one here and spell RINO out with other words. No, I’m happily sticking right with the words “Republican In Name Only.” So, there it is. I am a RINO.

Some of you reading this may already be feeling your stomach curdle at the very mention of the word RINO. After all, it’s really gotten some bad press. Rush Limbaugh and his brethren have really done a disservice to this fine descriptive word. Heck, even I have hurled it as an epithet when confronted with a politician who hasn’t lived up to my standards.

But, after reflecting on recent events, I realized that I myself am a RINO. At first I bristled at my own thoughts. But, after a time it appeared obvious that I am, indeed, a RINO.

I’m just going to have to accept it. Own it, as our pop psychology spewing friends on the left so earnestly say.

I am a RINO and here’s why…

  • I will vote Republican only when the situation is favorable to me.
  • I will not go with my party when I don’t like what is going on.
  • I will sometimes refuse to agree with my party on certain issues and will do so vocally.
  • If I find someone of another party that suits me, I will vote for them even if it is in lieu of voting for my party representative.

So, there you have it. The perfect definition of a RINO. That’s me. But, I am not going to lower my head in shame, no sirree. I am proud of this and am glad that I have finally come to terms with it. A little introspection never hurt anyone, ya know?

Let me explain further why I now feel ready to accept my RINOness. (Or is that RINOcity?)

Democrats for dead babies

-By Michael M. Bates

Look at our presidential candidates, brag Democrats. Such diversity, such pluralism, such variety. We have a woman, a black, and a Hispanic running. Heck, there’s even a white male tossed in the mix just for fun. Indeed, Democrats perceive a veritable embarrassment of riches.

What they don’t have is a contender who’s even moderately pro-life. Every one of them ardently supports abortion rights.

Hillary Clinton has pledged her resolve to “keeping abortion safe, legal and rare,” a popular Democratic mantra that begs the question of, if there’s nothing wrong with abortion, why do they want it to be rare? Barack Obama has avowed: “I have consistently advocated for reproductive choice and will make preserving women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority as President.”

John Edwards boasts of his 100 percent voting record with the National Abortion Rights Action League and has a past NARAL president advising his campaign. Bill Richardson pledges that “when I’m president” he’ll fight for a woman’s right to choose (death).

Given all this diversity, it was unforeseen, at least to me, that Mrs. Clinton would put down her Kleenex long enough to assail Mr. Obama for being insufficiently pro-abortion. A mailing to New Hampshire Democrats warns them that as a state senator Obama voted an ambiguous “present” on a number of abortion bills.

Seven times, the flyer noted, Obama had a chance to “stand up against Republican anti-choice legislation.” Each time, he weaseled out according to Hillary.

The Illinois senator responded with a statement of support from the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women assuring abortion enthusiasts of Barry’s support.

Abortion Supporter Knocks 69 Yr. Old Pro-Lifer Unconscious, Media Silent

-By Warner Todd Huston

On December 22nd a 69 year-old pro-life activist who was standing atop his automobile and protesting in front of the Hillcrest Abortion Clinic in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was physically attacked by an abortion supporter and thrown to the ground with enough force to knock him unconscious. Doctors even worried for a time that the elderly man might perish from the attack. And here, nearly 7 days out from this attack, there aren’t any accounts of the attack in the MSM. As I searched for the story myself, I found two and only two Internet hits for it. Why the silence from the MSM? Can you imagine the MSM swarm that would have occurred if it had been a pro-lifer that attacked an abortion supporter? The cacophony would have been deafening if a pro-lifer had been the one to get violent.

The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property issued the first story to hit the net a few days ago. Also, a Catholic PRWire and media advisory from Catholic Online was released on the 28th. But the MSM has remained silent on the matter.

Here is the account from the TFP:

When Mr. Snell tried to counsel the woman, his words were cut short when the man became furious, jumped the fence and, in the words of Mr. McTernan, “leaped on the vehicle with Ed and catapulted him off of the vehicle and onto the ground.” Mr. Snell hit his back and head on the pavement and was knocked unconscious.

His medical report outlines the extent of his injuries: “multiple trauma, right subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the area between the brain and the tissues that cover the brain), compression fractures of four vertebrae (T3, T4, T5 and T10), right scapula fracture and fracture of the fourth and fifth ribs.” Before doctors were able to stop the bleeding in his head, they even feared Mr. Snell would die.

An elderly man almost dies from an attack by an abortion supporter and the MSM is mum.

But, the receptionist at the clinic sure wasn’t mum!

Photo Proof: Romney Attended Planned Parenthood Fundraiser in ‘94

-By Warner Todd Huston

One more proof of a Romney lie has come to light just before the Iowa Primary. First off, I can no longer call Romney a flip-flopper, because he is proven to be an outright liar. PERIOD. On abortion, he first tells the people of Massachusetts that he is pro-choice, then he says he only supported what the people in his state wanted, then he claimed he was “always pro-life” but just never voted that way. He also said he never supported Planned Parenthood, the famous abortion mill operators. Well, here comes ABC News with a photograph of Romney hobnobbing with abortion lovers at a Planned Parenthood “house party” in 1994 while he was Governor of Massachusetts.

Says Rick Klein on the Political Radar Blog:

Mitt Romney attended a fund-raising reception for Planned Parenthood in 1994 in conjunction with a $150 donation his wife made to the organization — notwithstanding Romney’s contention that he had “no recollection” of the circumstances under which his wife gave money to the abortion-rights group.

And they have at least one photo showing Romney chatting contentedly with abortion pushers there.

In the photograph obtained by ABC News, Romney and his wife, Ann, are shown in a yellow-and-white tent chatting with local political activists, including Nicki Nichols Gamble, who was then president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts.

Go on over to the Political Radar Blog and check out the whole sordid tale.

But, here is the thing. Romney is NO conservative. Not in any way, shape or form. He is a man that sees NO principle that he won’t flip flop on to “get something done.” He has no real principles guiding him and in an era when we need the strongest president in the White House, this man would be a disaster for our country.

Worse, Romney is a liar. He once said he was a “hunter all his life,” for instance. He then had to admit that he’d only hunted twice in his whole life. If he’ll lie about something so silly as hunting, what important issue will he lie over?

No true conservative, no person interested in truth will vote for Mitt the malleable.

Mitt Romeny’s Many Flip flops on Abortion

-By Warner Todd Huston

I am going to say it straight out. I cannot support Mitt Romney for President. He is not a conservative in any way whatsoever. In fact, he’s not really a Republican. He’s not a Democrat. He’s not an independent or Green. He isn’t anything. He’s a businessman. And that is the beginning and end of his “ideology.”

Mitt Romney is certainly a get-it-done type of fellow, that is beyond dispute. It is also beyond dispute that he is generally a center right kid of guy. But he has no principle that he won’t subordinate for the task at hand. He has no ideals that he won’t bend, ignore or “change his mind” on to win.

Sadly, Mitt Romney has no principles at all.

This abortion issue is the perfect example of his unprincipled desire to win. Watch this video and see how he flips and flops on the abortion issue all depending upon what he has to say to win and depending upon who he is talking to at the moment.

Like I said, Romney is certainly a guy who can get things done. No one can deny that fact. His record shows an able executive. But his is a record of building consensus on whatever is the prevailing opinion on the issue of the day, not one of leading from his own internal principles.

If this were an era in the US when we didn’t face some of the most dangerous times our country ever faced, Romney would be a fine caretaker president. If Romney should have presided over the era that Clinton did, for instance, he might have been just fine. But we are not in such a carefree era. We face some of the toughest decisions that a president will ever have to make and if we have a flip flopper like Romney, if we have a president who will preside by sticking his finger in the air for every major issue and then deciding that he, too, feels that way (just like Clinton did, by the way), well we will be in a world of hurt.

Romney is not the man for the White House in 2008. He will endanger this country just as bad as any Democrat would.

I urge any reader of this site NOT to vote for Mitt Romney. Thompson is good, Hunter is good… even Giuliani would be better than Romney (though I don’t support Rudy, either). But Romney would be a disaster for this country as well as the GOP itself.

Romney cannot be believed in anything he says as his many abortion stances prove and it isn’t just his abortion flip flops at issue. He has floated back and forth on most of the key Republican principles all his life never coming firmly and finally down on any one side. Our ideal president has been a man of strong character and leadership, not one who is led by everyone else. Romney has no character nor is he a leader, a man with strong ideas.

Vote against Mitt Romney in the GOP primary in your state.

NYTimes: Extremist NARAL Leader Labeled a ‘Women’s Leader’

-By Warner Todd Huston

The folks at The New York Times are experts at obfuscation, aren’t they? Here is a perfect example of the soft selling we get from the leftist editorial board of the Times, a great demonstration of their underhanded practice of creating labels out of thin air that sound sooooo much nicer than would a label that truthfully describes one of their fellow travelers. This time we have an abortion activist given a more benign title in order to make her seem more representative of women instead of an extreme abortion activist that might represent only a small percentage of people. Obviously the Times wants this person’s opinion to be more acceptable than it might if her true background were more obvious.

In “Different Rules When a Rival Is a Woman?” we find a John Edwards operative quoted in a story about how mean the Democrat candidates were to Hillary at the last Democrat Presidential debate. The woman quoted is one Kate Michelman.

“It’s outrageous to suggest that it’s sexist for the other candidates to ask her tough questions or criticize her,” said Kate Michelman, a women’s leader and a supporter of Mr. Edwards. “To call it sexist is to play the gender card. Any claim of sexism is just a distraction from the fact that she did not do well in the debate, that she did not answer important questions on Iraq and Iran.”

First let’s say how interesting it is to have this “women’s leader” bashing Hillary. But, let us also consider this label, “women’s leader,” a little closer.

What, exactly, is a “women’s leader,” anyway?

Chicago Columnist: Tobacco Bad, Abortion Good

-By Warner Todd Huston

A columnist from a Chicago suburban paper has equated smoking to abortion in order to explain away her support of an abortion mill struggling to open in Aurora, Illinois. Saying that since smoking is legal, and it “kills” people, why shouldn’t abortion be legal, we find her reasoning is strained and absurd. If there’s a more ridiculous comparison out there, I’d like to see it. Following her tortured logic, we should outlaw everything that might kill someone if we also outlaw abortion — which WILL kill someone.

There are so many specious arguments that this supporter of infanticide tries to use in this article to support abortion that it must spin the head of most readers. The whole thing has a feel like the author of the column, Joni Hirsch-Blackman, is throwing just about everything she can think of against a wall to see what sticks quite regardless of any logic or sense to it all.

After simple-mindedly explaining that “Tobacco kills,” which in reality is not a literal truth because often times it does not, Hirsch-Blackman explains that, while she “sneers” at smokers, she would never protest against it because it is legal.

It’s tempting, but I’d never harass the people who go in there or try to have the store shut down — even though the whole purpose for the place being there is to sell something that eventually will kill whoever is using it.

Tobacco is legal and the store has a right to be there. So instead, I, and others who feel the way I do, try to educate people about the dangers of tobacco.

Really? She and her fellows would never harass smokers and try to get their right to smoke taken away from them? Odd, since she and like-minded friends in the state have succeeded in getting the State of Illinois to pass a smoking ban in public places that starts just this year.

Why is it OK to protest and use the courts and the coercion endemic with the law to ban smoking which only might cause varied health problems yet we should leave the faux right of abortion alone merely because it is “legal?”

Talk about tortured logic. And her lack of sense gets worse as the article progresses.

Typical Bias Against Life in NBC Abortion Story

-By Warner Todd Huston

On August 31st, NBC correspondent Mark Potter filed a story filled with woe over the weakening position for abortion in various parts of the country. The story has a distinct pro-abortion position that is typical of that displayed in the media and runs contrary to the legal, democratic lawmaking being carried out in certain states across the country, in this case the state of Mississippi. The story wags a moral finger in the face of the duly elected representatives of the state and assumes a superior attitude to those who oppose abortion. It reveals a media that has utter contempt for life coupled with an equal amount of contempt for the democratic process and the voice of the people, one NBC wishes to supplant with their own, elitist viewpoint.

Over the last several years, the state of Mississippi has seen a steady roll back of abortion protecting laws in Jackson, the state’s capitol. It has been so steady, in fact, that the state has but one legal abortion mill left within its borders. This is a state of affairs that NBC cannot stomach, despite that it is the will of the majority in Mississippi.

Potter’s article starts with a headline that casts abortion foes in the negative: In Miss., an effective attack against abortion — Last clinic in the state is fighting for the right to remain open

Notice the slant. Abortion is “attacked” and it is “fighting for the right” to exist. Abortion is cast in the heroic role to the harsh anti-abortion activist’s relentless violence against a “right” to abortion cast in the role of mortal enemy. Certainly, the pro-life position is the enemy here as far as NBC is concerned. Why couldn’t the title have been something like: “Pro Lifers Winning Against Culture of Death” Too, strong? How about this one: “Voice of People Calls to Restrict Abortion in Mississippi.”

It doesn’t start out any better with the report’s first words.

Planned Parenthood Lies to City Board That New Building to be Abortion Clinic

-By Warner Todd Huston

This story has been going on for a few days in Aurora, Illinois. It seems Planned Parenthood told a teeny, tiny white lie to the City Planning Board of Aurora about what use a new building they were constructing near a residential neighborhood would be put to. In fact, they even misled city officials as to who they even were, and those officials are none too happy about it.

The city granted a building permit to a company called Gemini Office Development LLC to build what was being called a “medical office building.” It turns out, however, that Gemini Office Development LLC is actually a shell company for Planned Parenthood and this new building was not going to be just a regular, non-descript “medical office building” but a Planned Parenthood abortion mill, instead. Curiously, Planned Parenthood neglected to tell the city of its plans until the building was complete and they were ready to open for business.

Naturally, the community is a tad upset that they were lied to.

On a radio interview this morning, an Aurora city councilman was upset that the abortion advocates would build an abortion clinic near a residential community when such clinics often bring dangerous conditions with them. After all, says the councilman, when they build these facilities they use bullet proof glass and try to make them bomb proof, so obviously they know that their facilities have the potential to bring danger to the community.

Newsweek Proclaims Woman is ‘Approved’ Catholic Priest

-By Warner Todd Huston

In keeping with the MSMs constant denigration of organized religion, Newseek has published a story proclaiming a female as an “approved” Catholic priest accepting the claims of rogue Catholic offshoot organizations over that of the official cannon of the real Catholic Church. Everything is relative to the MSM and their fellow nihilists, so the fact that the actual Catholic Church still doesn’t allow the ordination of women as priests doesn’t seem to matter a whole lot to them as they give this woman the benefit of being called a “Catholic priest.” It would be as ridiculous as the MSM calling Bill Clinton a black president… oh, wait. It certainly seems as if “truth” is a meaningless concept to the MSM.

Looking like an aging cheerleader instead of a “priest,” Newsweek featured the story of 25-year-old Jessica Rowley in Higher Calling, published on the 13th. In it they absurdly accept as fact her supposed ordination as a “Catholic priest.”

Sept. 13, 2007 – Last week 25-year-old Jessica Rowley became one of about a dozen women nationwide to make a highly unusual career move: she was ordained a Catholic priest. Rowley’s ordination—which took place at Eden Theological Seminary, a progressive institution in Webster Groves, Mo.—is approved by the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, a group of churches that decline to recognize the authority of the pope but see themselves nevertheless as Catholic. This week Rowley—who is also married—begins working full-time as an associate pastor at Saints Clare & Francis, a breakaway parish in Webster Groves.

Certainly, these offshoot groups have every right to create their own organizations and to reject the tenets of the actual Roman Catholic Church, but they just cannot claim themselves to be Catholics. Even Martin Luther realized he had to come up with a new brand!

Chgo. Sun-Times: Pregnancies to Rise in US Colleges — It’s All Bush’s Fault

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Chicago Sun-Times is blaming the Bush administration for what they claim is sure to be a rise in unplanned pregnancies at colleges and universities across the country. It hasn’t happened yet, mind you, but they are sure it’s gonna! Naturally, the paper cannot imagine we should place any blame on the stupid students who are getting themselves pregnant. I mean, it HAS to be Bush’s fault, you see, with personal responsibility being so last century and all. No, the Sun-Times is sure that a cut in the amount of Federal money doled out to our institutions of higher learning for cheap birth control is going to wreak havoc with the student body. Our kids are obviously too stupid to get by without that government spending.

The Sun-Times, worrying that the cost of birth control available to students in colleges is going to rise, imagines a law reducing Federal spending is somehow forcing students to have unprotected sex. “Birth-control costs soaring at colleges — Pregnancies could rise now that law limits drugmaker incentives”, they proclaim. This calamity is all being blamed on the “Deficit Reduction Act signed by President Bush last year” according to the Sun-Times.

Abortion – Where is Fred Thompson? Where Should Conservatives be?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Probable Presidential candidate Fred Thompson has recently been caught up in an imbroglio on abortion at the very start of his nascent run for the White House. He has been “caught” working as a lobbyist for a pro-abortion group and, when running for the Senate and while a newly minted Senator, Thompson filled out a questionnaire or two that could lead one to imagine he isn’t staunchly against the procedure. In this piece, I would like to address Thompson’s voting record and positions, show that they are consistent from the beginning, and juxtapose them with those for which a real Conservative, Federalist should advocate.

Thompson’s Political Record – 1994 to current

When he first began to run for the Senate, Thompson gave an interview for the newsletter of the Tennessee Republican Liberty Caucus in which he said of his views on abortion, “(The Federal) Government should stay out of it. No public financing. The women must make the ultimate decision. Government should treat its citizens as adults capable of making moral decisions on their own.”

This was in response to some Tennessee critics of his who claimed he was pro-choice on abortion but it would seem more to be a libertarian, Federalist view point, than a strictly pro-abortion view.

It has been an interesting few weeks, a team of foreign nations planned to blow up the fuel line of JFK International Airport (see link here), and if that is not enough, we have an immigration bill (see link here) that looks like the best compromise, because both extremes of the political aisle hate it,. But, upon further review it has some major flaws that need to be addressed before its passage. For instance, the twenty-four background check should be expanded to ninety-six hours (four business work days) to verify a person’s identity and criminal history. This will enable official the opportunity to full assess an alien criminal history and status….
