Eh, don’t worry, America. If there is another 9/11-like terror attack, The One says that we can “absorb it” and just become “stronger” because of it. It’s as if he wants it to happen, or something!
In his latest book, Bob Woodward encountered a President Obama that seemed to casually blow off worry of another terror attack. The Washington Post gave us a sneak preview of Woodward’s newest tome where Obama acted so flippantly toward another 9/11. (my bold)
Woodward’s book portrays Obama and the White House as barraged by warnings about the threat of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and confronted with the difficulty in preventing them. During an interview with Woodward in July, the president said, “We can absorb a terrorist attack. We’ll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever… we absorbed it and we are stronger.”
If we are “stronger,” and that is entirely debatable, it certainly isn’t because of anything the Obama administration has done.

The Kinzinger campaign jumping on the lefty protest featuring Democrat Congressman Debbie Halvorson’s staffers where they held signs calling Sarah Palin and GOP rival Capt. Adam Kinzinger a Nazi.
From the Hultgren for Congress campaign (14th District)…
ST. CHARLES – The Randy Hultgren for Congress campaign issued the following statement today regarding the nation’s fiscal situation and the out-of-control spending in Washington.
“For too long, both parties in Washington have spent far too much, with far too little regard for the future,” said State Senator Randy Hultgren, Republican candidate for Congress. “We need to restore fiscal sanity to our spending, starting with honest and realistic budgeting and serious-minded plans to balance the budget and pay down the debt. For our sake and for our children’s future, we need to get our fiscal house in order.
“Unfortunately, my opponent Bill Foster has been part of the problem out in Washington. Since he was first elected, our budget deficit has tripled. Bill Foster has consistently supported Nancy Pelosi’s big-spending agenda, and our district and our country deserve a representative who will work to cut spending and restore fiscal discipline in Washington.”
Representative Bill Foster (14th District) wants our taxes to go up with the phase out of the Bush tax cuts. He claims that the deficit was worse under Bush than it is under Obama… and that is simply just a lie.
That is why you should vote for Randy Hultgren!

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The Pollak for Congress campaign has released the following statement:
This afternoon–to our mutual surprise!–Jan Schakowsky and I debated at the offices of the Daily Herald newspaper in Arlington Heights. We were each scheduled to meet with the editorial board, which is deciding which of us to endorse. Little did we know that we would be interviewed at the same time, in the same room!
For nearly 90 minutes, we debated the major issues facing the 9th congressional district and the nation today. It was a great debate! The only problem is that it had an audience of four.

First time Representative Democrat Debbie Halvorson of Illinois’ 11th District is struggling in the polls against Republican Adam Kinzinger. Her desperation is starting to show, too, because her office just got caught supplying Democrat staffers to a protest rally holding signs that call Kinzinger a Nazi. Kinzinger is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and flew missions in Iraq.
A line of protesters showed up at a Kinzinger appearance on Sept. 15th sporting signs calling the Republican military vet a Nazi. Kinzinger’s folks filmed the little protest and followed the perpetrators right back to Halvorson’s office. Video reveals that Halvorson’s office workers seemed to know the protesters.
Kinzinger wants to know why these outrageous, over-the-top protesters seemed to be members of Halvorson’s ofice? He i demanding an apology from Halvorson
And now it seems that one of these protesters has been identified as a member of Obama’s Organizing for America. Apparently Halvorson and the Democrats shipped this woman from her home base in St. Louis, missouri to Northern Illinois in order to lead a protest calling Kinzinger a Nazi! GatewayPundit has the info on this woman.
So much for “grassrootiness” in protesting, eh? If this isn’t top down, what is? Always remember, all Democrat efforts are a sham led from the top. There are no true Democrat grassroots efforts. These people are simply un-American scum.

They call it a “recruitment tool,” but it is little else but yet another way for Congressional elites to give each other favors on the taxpayer’s dime. As Americans are increasingly losing jobs, even their homes, congressmen are using taxpayer’s dollars to pay off the student loans of their staffers. Worse, this has been going on since 1990.
The law was enacted in 1990 and updated in 2000 with the idea that congress could use this incentive to lure good applicants to congressional staffs.
As a 2002 report on the program states:
More than a decade ago, Congress authorized a student loan repayment program for highly qualified professional, administrative, and technical federal personnel covered by the General Schedule (GS). Section 1206(b) of P.L. 101-510, enacted on November 5, 1990,1 responded to a recommendation of the National Commission on the Public Service that a loan forgiveness program be established for federal service.2 The commission found, in its April 1989 report, that the federal government had serious problems in recruiting and retaining a quality workforce. Student loan repayment is viewed as a way to make government service more attractive to candidates, many of whom have incurred significant student loan debts in acquiring their education.
I like that: “Student loan repayment is viewed as a way to make government service more attractive to candidates…”

“I think people underestimate how disastrous this could be,” says a Democrat Congressional staffer who worries over losing his job once all the new Republicans sweep into Congress after the November elections. Politico’s Erika Lovley seems also to worry about the “massive layoffs” that will come to staffers in November. But to me this is one type of job loss to celebrate not cry over.
Lovley gravely warns that if Republicans win big in the elections, “it’s not just elected Democrats who will be unemployed — more than 1,500 Democratic staffers could lose their jobs, with layoffs stretching from low-wage staff assistants to six-figure committee aides.”
Oh the humanities. Time to warm up the tiniest violin in the world to accompany this pity party.

As we remember the victims of the 9/11 tragedy, we must reflect on the policy changes needed to protect our country and its citizens.
We must maintain a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, which reflects the extraordinary security ties between our two nations. I traveled to Israel for a week this year to see, first-hand, the critical security challenges that the United States and Israel face together in the Middle East. In the face of threats from Hamas, Hezbollah, and a nuclear Iran, I understand what is at stake in the region, and I am committed to using my voice in continuing the 10th District’s proud tradition of pro-Israel leadership in Congress. I will be a champion for the U.S.-Israel relationship to make sure our security and the security of our allies remains top priority for our leaders.

All hail the Obammessiah, the savior of our jobs… well, at least $20 million went to a few sign makers so that Obama could pretend that he saved folk’s jobs, anyway.
You can help shine a light on this wasteful federal spending by taking a photo of an Obama propaganda sign on the side of the road telling us all of Obama’s benevolence and sending it to the House Republicans via this address: stimulussigns@mail.house.gov.

(Palatine, Illinois) – Representative Melissa Bean Illinois 8th district sponsored or co-sponsored the following 13 Earmark projects in 2010 totaling $25,271,000*. Keep in mind that 2010 is not over yet.
With record deficits in 2010 of over one trillion dollars and unemployment near 10% we can see why people are angry with members of Congress and “Voter unhappiness with Congress has reached the highest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports as 71% now say the legislature is doing a poor job. That’s up ten points from the previous high of 61% reached.”
Is Melissa Bean at all interested in upholding a high standard of ethics? Where is her common sense and accountability to us the United States taxpayer? This is not your money to waste!

Recently President Obama presented his latest plan to “stimulate” our economy. Although he’s not calling it a stimulus package, the American people are seeing it for what it is – $50 billion of additional government spending. Unfortunately for the President, we’ve already seen the failure of one stimulus, and this new plan is no different.

One of the more insidious ways that Muslims try to impose their sharia laws on western nations is to use the west’s liberal laws against them by warping that law to install sharia by stealth. Such is the case in a section of France where Muslims, sometimes appearing in the hundreds, choke a French street to perform their daily prayers. They have no permits, they have not asked for legal permission, they simply congregate by the hundreds and do it, breaking the law as they do so.
Sadly, the French government has told the police to stand idly by and allow it to happen showing that France is being pulled both ways on Islam.
On one hand they are strictly a secular government even going so far as to make religious expression uncomfortable — especially for Christians. France has banned the veil and many Frenchmen have spoken out against radical Islam.

As we enjoyed this labor day long weekend I wanted to thank you personally for your support and enthusiasm. I spent much of the last week on the road, and will be traveling across the 14th District again for the next two weeks to talk to voters about jobs and the economy.
Our representatives in Washington think they know best how to get our economy moving again, but the reality is that they’re just making things worse. We know that the private sector needs to create jobs and put people back to work, and for that to happen, Washington needs to cut the taxes and red tape that are holding us back.
This November, I believe the people of the 14th District will recognize that Washington is broken, our current Congressman is part of the problem – not the solution – and will support our campaign to get our economy back on track.

(Palatine, Illinois) – How would Bean reach a balanced budget if she were in Congress as she said to the Daily Herald on October 27, 2002?
Bean said, “my primary tactic to reach a balanced budget would be cutting wasteful spending.”*
Bean’s Wasteful Spending
2008 earmarks of $26,842,300
2009 earmarks of $38,314,314
$787 billion stimulus bill
$26 billion jobs bill
Trillion dollar take over of our healthcare system
Your kids get the bill from my reckless behavior…
Here is one recommendation – Use Common Sense
If you are outraged with Bean’s wasteful spending, contact her local office (847) 517-2927 or DC (202) 225-3711 and vote her out in November!

Previous to the current meddling by Congress, stores were technically not allowed to require a minimum purchase for credit cards. If you wanted to charge ten cents or ten dollars merchants were supposed to accept the charge. But the Durbin Amendment (Sen. Dick Durbin, D of Ill.) to the credit card “reform” bill passed by Congress will change all that by allowing stores to set a minimum charge amount of $10 before you are allowed to use your credit card to purchase something.
This is just one more way that Congress is reaching into your pocket and taking your money. It is easy to realize that millions of people, when told they have to spend $10 to use a credit card, will charge to the minimum despite what they really intended to buy. It’s an obvious and unseen tax, in essence. It will become a common sight at cash registers when someone gets a bill of $6 or $7 rung up, a credit card will be brought out, the cashier will tell them of the new minimum charge rule, and the consumer will grab a few candy bars or some other nearby item to push the charge over that $10 minimum. This will be money spent that wasn’t intended to be spent but it will happen a lot from here on out.

Credit Card ‘Reform’ Will Force All Credit Purchases to Exceed $10″
Last week, Congressman Peter Roskam was a guest blogger for The Heritage Foundation…
If at first you don’t succeed, change the message. That’s the lesson learned when it comes to the new trillion dollar health law passed this spring.
One of the central advocacy groups who pushed for the Obamacare recently held a confidential ”messaging” conference call with the progressive movement where they revealed the results of extensive polling on the new law. Remember when the left was confident their controversial health care vote would soon be cheered by the public? The thinking was that Jane and John Doe simply needed more time to understand the two and half thousand page bill, because the year-long health care debate wasn’t enough time for them to get a grasp on it.

Congressman Paul Ryan (R, Wis) and former Congressional Budget Office Director Doug Holtz-Eakin came together early this week to lambaste Obama’s failed economic policies.
In a conference call to supporters and the press, CBO Director Holtz-Eakin said that there is “no evidence” that “the stimulus has really worked” and that Obama’s Keynesian fixes simply won’t work.
There is nothing about Keynesian stimulus that is going to fix those problems. The spending by the government has gotten worse, has not solved the housing problem, and has also not been successful. Instead, the key to more rapid economic growth is going to have to be the business sector and international trade.
Representative Ryan echoed that assessment, saying:

The Daily Herald reports on Republican Randy Hultgren’s ideas on Obamacare as he races to the finish line to become the congressman from the 14th District.
Hultgren told attendees of a luncheon in St. Charles last week that changes created in the new law do nothing to address the cost of health care. He said he would’ve voted against both the major Democratic versions of the law and will work to undo “Obamacare.”
“I think Republicans blew it on this,” Hultgren said of the new law. “But I think Democrats blew it even more. We need to get rid of what we’ve got. Let’s repeal it.”
Hultgren said he’s particularly disappointed in what’s become known as the “1099 provision” of the new health care law. The provision requires companies to submit a report to the IRS for every business-to-business transaction made that exceeds $600. Critics view the provision as a nightmare of paperwork and accounting for as many as 30 million small businesses.
“This is going to kill small businesses,” Hultgren said.
Check out the rest of the article to see what his opponent, Bill Foster, said about Obamacare.
Marco Rubio is running for Senate in Florida. He is a former speaker of the Florida House of Reps and is currently leading in the polls in the Sunshine State.
Some have been wondering if the national GOP was going to actually run on repealing Obamacare. Well, this is the official GOP address, Party approved, so I guess we have our answer. They certainly DO intend to run on repealing Obamacare.

If you haven’t been paying attention to the tax cut debate yet, you need to take a few minutes to find out how Democrat Leaders in Congress are set to deliver a one-two punch to the American public in the form of higher taxes on families and small businesses. At this time of economic uncertainty and sluggish growth, an across-the-board tax increase on families and individuals promises to keep the economy on its knees.
Starting January 1, 2011, new tax rates will kick in across the board, raising taxes on American families and small businesses by a staggering $3.8 trillion, from those in the lowest tax bracket and continuing all the way up the economic ladder. The Tax Foundation, a non-partisan, independent research organization estimates that an average family of the Sixth Congressional District will see their income taxes increase $1,972. At a time when many Americans are struggling to make ends meet, this misguided policy will take more money out of the pockets of individuals in order to fuel more of the wasteful government spending that is on track to triple our national debt.

Well if this isn’t a fitting addition to the story of the stimulus what is? The University of Notre Dame in Indiana recently fired an electrical engineering professor over allegations that the prof used $190,000 in federal grant money and matching university funds to buy cameras and other equipment to make homemade porno.
Like a true hair-splitting academic, professor Oliver M. Collins is fighting his firing claiming that the university has no proof that he was the one that made the pornographic images that the university found stored on his university-owned computer. That’s right, he is clueless on how all those porn images got on his computer. Just clueless! And all those cameras he bought with the school’s money? Um… well… he’s going to take up bird watching… maybe?
Collins has filed a lawsuit claiming that the university owes him more than $75,000 in damages. But Collins was later heard telling university officials, “Hey, nice economic package you have there.” But I jest.
