July 4th – Independence or Security?

We have forgotten why the Declaration of Independence was signed.

In 1776, American colonists were willing to risk their lives, fortunes, and their sacred honor to maintain the self-government that they had laboriously established over the preceding century and a half.

Chief among their motivations, and the most common complaint from Georgia in the south to Massachusetts in the northeast, was protection of their private property rights. Hence the most famous of the War of Independence slogans: “No taxation without representation!”

In the succeeding two and a quarter centuries, liberal-Progressive-socialists have led our nation 180 degrees away from that orientation.

July 4th… For Those Who Actually Remember It

The day of celebration of the independence of our great country is once again at hand… for those of us who can remember what it’s all about, that is. As former Secretary of Education under Ronald Reagan, William Bennett, has commented, this country is on the verge of a national amnesia about our own history. He warns that we are becoming a country whose citizens are born as aliens a fact that will, in the end, make it impossible for our young Americans to sign up and fight for our country. After all, they won’t understand why this country is a “way of life worthy of their own lives” if they do not know its history. And that is a dangerous thing.

But it isn’t just the young that are in danger of losing touch with the greatness of our country. In a day when we barely stopped our own Senate from signing away our national sovereignty and making citizenship a hallow convention, far too many Americans seem to have no idea what makes the USA special or deserving of any devotion.

Our Founders, of course, realized how important the light of liberty is that they sacrificed so much to ignite. They well understood that it’s not just important to their fellow Americans but to all of humanity. As James Madison said, “the origin and outset of the American Republic contain lessons of which posterity ought not to be deprived.” But today we are not only depriving humanity of those lessons, we are even depriving our own people from such revelations.

Unfortunately, today we haven’t the luxury to be so thoughtless of our national charge as the light of liberty. There are forces in this world that wish to deprive not only Americans of our liberty, but all mankind of theirs. To that threat we must apply Samuel Adams’ assertion that “our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free, but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty.”

The Declaration of Independence, 2007

Many times I think of just how fortunate I am to have been born in the United States. What a blessing!

There are so many places on this earth where mere existence is a daily struggle. Adversity and privation are the rule rather than the exception.

Our destiny was largely shaped by the remarkable men who founded this country. Calvin Coolidge observed that the Declaration of Independence unleashed not only a revolution against Britain, but also a revolution in human affairs. Even today, a belief in government by consent isn’t universally accepted.

The Founding Fathers weren’t, as they’re occasionally portrayed, radicals. If anything, they were reluctant revolutionaries, slow to terminate America’s relationship with England.

Democracy wasn’t what they sought. They were too familiar with democracy’s failings. As John Adams wrote: “The people, when they have been unchecked, have been as unjust, tyrannical, brutal, barbarous, and cruel as any king or senate possessed of uncontrollable power. The majority has eternally, and without exception, usurped over the rights of the minority.”

FINALLY….Bush commutes sentence for Libby

It’s about time. If Bush had allowed Libby to go to jail, that wold have been the final straw in my support for him. As it is, with this action, I barely hang on as a supporter. The president is on thin ice with me, however. It won’t take much for me to wash my hands of him.

President Bush commuted the sentence of former aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby Monday, sparing him from a 2 1/2-year prison term in the CIA leak case.

Bush left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation for Libby, according to a senior White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision had not been announced.

Keynesian Predictions

A cornerstone of liberal-Progressive economic theory turns out to be fatally flawed, bringing the whole structure crashing to the ground.

As noted in Krugman and Friedman – Part Four, Keynesian economic theory, now refurbished as neo-Keynesianism, dominates liberal-Progressive-socialist thinking in the United States. Mr. Krugman is one of its fiercest proponents.

Like Keynes, he has been consistently wrong in his predictions, most notably in proclaiming that tax cuts in the first term of the present Bush administration would not revive the economy and, in any event, would not lead to creation of new jobs. Only government spending can revive the economy, according to liberal-Progressive orthodoxy.

Media Serving as Propaganda Arm for Al Qaeda

Reuters admits they were taken in by false beheaded Iraqis story but refuses to accept responsibility for their error

Remember when you were a kid and got caught telling a lie, but your excuse was that a pal “made you do it” and it was so hard to tell the truth anyway because of this reason or that? It didn’t matter to your parents then, did it? Well, here we have Reuters revealing that they fell for a false story about 20 beheaded Iraqis that was planted by insurgents, but do they just admit it and take responsibility? No, they whine that it is “very hard” to get stories in Iraq because it is so dangerous for journalists there.

I can tell we are all rolling our eyes, aren’t we?

On the 28th Reuters and the AP along with most major news sources recklessly reported that 20 beheaded bodies were found by “Iraqi Policemen” on the banks of the Tigris River near Salmon Pak, 19 miles south of Baghdad.

The Comprehensive Universal Modern American Solution

Facing despair, too many Americans have grown cynical of the quagmire of partisan politics inside the Beltway. The endless arguments over illegal immigration, prison capacity, stem cell research, abortion, healthcare, unemployment, public education, and much more cause every conscientious American to yearn for solutions. To this point, however, our quibbling politicians succeed only at letting us down. They scurry shamelessly to serve their egocentric agendas versus honoring their oaths to serve the average American like you and me.

Every day we confront the consequences of politicians’ failures. The deplorable conditions of indigent citizens and “non-documented” citizens undoubtedly stir sorrow in the most pitiless and greedy among us. The senseless crimes committed by misunderstood gang-bangers and persecuted drug addicts sometimes rouse a modicum of anger even in exemplary pacifists like Cindy Sheehan. Moreover, the outrageous costs and abuses of the world’s finest healthcare system have finally been exposed, thanks to an American symbol of courage — Michael Moore — and his riveting documentary Sicko (which regrettably I have not seen). Regardless, with our advancement in medical science and our laws to protect abortion, impeding the progress of stem-cell research makes absolutely no sense today.

As Amnesty Bills Fails, MSM Gives us Tales of ‘Immigrant Worker’ Woes

Right on cue, as the illegal immigrant amnesty bill failed to get the required support for passage in the Senate, the MSM is here to tell us mean spirited LEGAL Americans how “hard” it is on all those poor, innocent ILLEGAL migrants who break the law to come here by the millions. Yes, folks, women and children hardest hit, as the old saw goes. Of course, it is nearly ignored by the MSM that these people are not just “innocents” but are here knowingly breaking our laws and then blaming us when they find life a bit uncomfortable — and a bit uncomfortable is all they are facing it should be remembered.

Three quick reports are indicative of how the MSM is making the average, legal American out to be an evil, racist, selfish creep by urging their elected officials to think of their own constituents before they think of undeserving foreign invaders.

First up is Reuters with a hyperbole laced, “Hopes dashed for many immigrant workers”, with that hyperbole continuing with a subtitle that cries, “Millions had hoped passage of immigration bill would lead to normal lives.”

Someone should remind Reuters that these people are not just “immigrant workers”, but law breakers.

Seeing God

Atheists, agnostics, and those simply unchurched perceive God in a very different way from Christians.

Sunday’s sermon at the Black Rock-Long Ridge Congregational Church (North Stamford, Connecticut) was delivered by Rev. Dan McCandless. His text was Matthew, Chapter 6.

The picture Jesus gives us of God and His relationship with us is far removed from the impression held by too many people.

Some people imagine God as a sort of accountant who spends His time keeping a ledger of our good deeds and our misdeeds. Others see Him as an iron-fisted lawgiver who vents His anger to force us to submit. Still others see Him as a detached Creator who is no longer interested in us as individuals.

Others envision Him as a genial, white haired grandfatherly type, who is just a nice fellow who no longer has any real power to affect our lives. A sort of agnostic, scientific view has God as an impersonal force whom we can’t explain and can’t understand, but who is obviously there because of the orderly nature of the universe.

That is not what Jesus had to say in the Sermon on the Mount, in which God is depicted sixteen times as a father who cares deeply about each of us.

Reuters Absurdly Links G. W. Bush With Report of Decades Old CIA Operations

In a report on a recent release of decades old documents detailing CIA operations in the 1960’s and 70’s, Reuters seems to find it necessary to interject “criticism” of president Bush “being too secretive now” even though not one part of the story has anything to do with president Bush or any modern CIA operations. It would be like talking about the Civil War and interjecting a Bush comment, or talking of Roman times and suddenly sticking in a “US imperialism” comment into the mix where it doesn’t legitimately belong.

The MSM’s Bush Derangement Syndrome is so pervasive that they cannot even discuss historical information without trying to embarrass or attack this president in the midst of it all.

A Review Of The Deceived By Bill Myers

Matthew 24:24 warns “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect — if that were possible.” With all the enticing messages trying to lead Christian young people astray, “The Forbidden Doors Series” by Bill Myers provides a bit of insight into the subtle temptations of mysticism conspiring to lead the individual into spiritual destruction.

In “The Deceived“, Myers examines the dangers posed by hypnosis and reincarnation. The main character, a high school student named Rebecca, is mesmerized by a hypnotist and undergoes past-life regression.

Thinking she is the reincarnation of a French monarch, Rebecca longs to reconnect with the powers she is convinced she once possessed, Rebecca falls under the influence of a renowned motivational speaker. However, does this occultist have Rebecca’s best interests at heart or an intention far more sinister in mind?

The family depicted by Myers is highly sympathetic in nature since as average Christians they have an inkling something is amiss but, as with the rest of us unaccustomed to dealing with the paranormal, the characters are forced to struggle with phenomena not all that common for the majority living in the rational lands of the scientific West.

Dedication of Memorial to Victims of Communism All But Ignored

Did you know that a monument to the many millions of victims who died during the Cold War as a result of communist oppression was dedicated in Washington DC on June 12th? You would be excused if you didn’t know anything about it if the coverage of the event by the MSM is any measure because they all but ignored the unveiling of this moving monument.

The dedication was attended by many notables with President Bush saying a few appropriate words during the ceremony and the monument seems an appropriate design for a change, unlike so many of our other so-called monuments of late. As described by Helle Dale on FOX News:

The memorial stands on the edge of Washington D.C., greeting motorists on the corner of Massachusetts and New Jersey avenues, just a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol. The 10-foot-tall bronze statue is a highly appropriate memorial. It was created by California sculptor Thomas Marsh and is a replica of the papier-maché sculpture of “The Goddess of Democracy” erected by Chinese students in Tiananmen Square in 1989, before their peaceful demonstration for freedom and democracy was brutally crushed by the Chinese military. And, of course, “The Goddess” herself was inspired by the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.

Naturally, the AP didn’t seem to be in a celebratory mood with the unveiling, but instead ran a story on how the Chinese are complaining about the monument.

Technophobia Serves the Status Quo

Education is probably the most important element in a functioning democratic republic, one in which citizens’ value and are responsible for the maintenance of their individual freedoms balanced against the needs of the society as a whole. To ensure that members of the communities which make up our great nation have equal access to learning, schools must provide the same tools and information across socio-economic groups. This is no easy feat. Regardless of how well an education is delivered, each child will bring a different set of challenges to the table and every student will not take away the same experience. Still, a reasonable goal is to present everyone the opportunity to learn and thus be in a position to care for themselves and be responsible citizens. Therefore, we must strive to deliver every student a high quality education.

It can be argued that, “Technology provides both mechanical advantages over manual approaches and enables learning experiences that would otherwise have been impossible or highly improbable.” (1) While many people already take advantage of technological innovations, others for myriad reasons have not taken the steps to learn how to use these tools properly or to incorporate them into their everyday lives. While it is not an expectation that the average person integrate technology into their world, teachers have a responsibility to learn how to use computers and other devices so as not to put their students at a disadvantage. Not only can information be accessed and processed at a faster rate, but “intangible benefits such as high levels of satisfaction and motivation, improved self-esteem, are often noted as outcomes of technological innovation in education.” (2)

Krugman and Friedman – Part Four

Paul Krugman confesses his love for Big Brother.

Previous postings (Part One; Part Two; Part Three) discussed aspects of Paul Krugman’s essay “Who Was Milton Friedman?” in the New York Review of Books.

Mr. Krugman is a political propaganda columnist for the New York Times, where predictably he is a strident critic of individuals’ economic and political liberties when they conflict with Federal collectivism. As an advocate of Neo-Keynesian economic theory, he believes that only intervention by the Federal government can effectively deal with changing economic conditions to insure full employment.

Neo-Keynesian doctrine is a reaction to the massive failure of Keynesian economics in the 1970s stagflation, a prolonged period of high unemployment combined with the highest peacetime rates of inflation ever suffered in the United States. It is a defensive effort to salvage as much as possible of New Deal Keynesian economics.

Why would Rosie O’Donnel, a woman known for her wild-eyed rants against firearms, the war on terror, and the military, dress her child in a camo shirt, camo bandana and a bandolier of bullets and then post that picture on her own website? I certainly can’t answer that stunner and neither can the denizens of her nutroots website who seem shocked and utterly unable to assist me in finding out what is going on with this business.

Evil Humans Invade Alien Planet in New Cartoon – An Allegory for US ‘Imperialism’

It was bound to happen. A Sci Fi film is being produced presenting humans as the evil, alien aggressors invading a peace loving alien planet, the allegory, according to the producers, being a comment upon the “imperialism” of the United States. Innocent aliens being killed by evil, imperialist space faring humans and it appears to be all George Bush’s fault… again.

Science Fiction has used the alien invasion over and over for decades supposedly as an allegorical statement about the human condition contemporary to the production of a given film. In “Independence Day” the aliens are here to destroy us. This film was ridiculously criticized as nothing but “American jingoism” with Americans imagining themselves the saviors of the world because, with the USSR fallen, Americans were the only remaining superpower. Conversely, in the classic 1951 film “The Day The Earth Stood Still”, a friendly alien visitor to Earth is shot down by the evil military and it is we, rather than the aliens, who are the bad guys. This film was supposedly about the Cold War but at least we humans were characterized as simply fearful in the 50s classic. Perhaps that benefit of the doubt for humanity is now gone as far as this new cartoon is concerned?

USA Today reports on “Terra”, a new cartoon with voice work from the likes of Danny Glover (no selling point for the film there!), Dennis Quaid, Ron Perlman, Luke Wilson, Amanda Peet, Rosanna Arquette and James Garner.

Prove to Us That You’re Still On Our Side

There is little doubt that a heated debate is taking place over the issue of immigration reform. The alarming aspect of this debate is less the where, when and why it is taking place and more about who the debate is between. With an overwhelming majority of Americans from every political party in opposition to the current proposal being floated by select senators and the White House, it appears – incredibly – that the debate is actually between the people and our government.

Our nation is a Democratic Republic, a Representative Democracy. The electorate casts ballots to elect individuals to represent them in

Washington DC. In turn, these elected officials are bestowed the authority to place votes representative of their constituents. In theory, these elected officials are charged with learning about and debating the issues so that the concerns of their constituents can be heard and the best interests of their constituents safeguarded. In the end, they cast their votes on pieces of legislation as representatives of their constituencies.

This is how it is supposed to work.

The AP Says Ku Klux Klan Members Are ‘Certainly Conservative’

In a rather soft boiled story on West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd’s dotage and his uselessness as an able bodied member of the Senate, at 89 he’s currently the longest serving Senator in American history, the AP did the right thing in reminding the readers that Byrd was once a member of the Klan. Yet, they had to go and ruin the truth by claiming that Klan members are “certainly conservative.”

In fact, this AP story amazingly tries to make it seem as if Byrd had only late in life become that member of Congress that has been “endeared” to “many liberals”, hinting that it only just dawned on him after 53 years in the Senate to become a liberal. The AP imagines that Byrd somehow “remade” himself into a liberal over the Bush administration’s Iraq policy, as if he never was one before that.

Colleagues said Byrd agreed to have Murray lead the floor fight, even though the Iraq issue is close to his heart. Since the war’s outset, he has ranked among Bush’s harshest critics, a role that endeared him to many liberals and proved again that a skillful politician can remake his image if he stays in office long enough…

What is with this “remake his image” stuff, AP? Do you imagine that Byrd has been Barry Goldwater until we set our first boots on the ground in Iraq?

Mrs. Clinton Discovers Women With Needs

Forget about your soccer moms, security moms and NASCAR dads. If Hillary Clinton has her way, 2008 will be the year of women with needs. According to a campaign spokesperson, New York’s junior senator is a veritable magnet for “women with needs.”

The theme emerged after a recent Washington Post – ABC News poll disclosed New York’s junior senator garners “especially strong support from lower-income, lesser-educated women.”

At first blush it may seem curious that she so mightily connects with commoners. I mean, she is the world’s smartest woman, right? (Flunking the Washington, DC bar exam doesn’t count.)

One of the women surveyed, a Hillary admirer boasting some college, said that Mrs. Clinton “ran the country for eight years, so I feel like she could do it again.” Silly me. I didn’t realize Hillary was running the country all that time. I had supposed that’s what Bill was elected to do, when he could fit it in his demanding schedule.

It seems to me that Mrs. Clinton spent much of her husband’s administration trying to shove socialized medicine down our throats. As well as feverishly searching for those Whitewater-related billing records that were misplaced for years and ultimately found in the White House book room with her fingerprints, literally, on them.

The Great Depression Revisited

Big Three auto makers are offering labor unions an opportunity to step back into the real world, out of the Alice-in-Wonderland world of New Deal socialism.

Labor unions are icons of the liberal-Progressives, who apotheosized them in the New Deal during the Great Depression. In addition to the primary status of unions in the Marxian labor theory of value, labor unions have been unfailing vote-getting allies of the Democratic Party.

The 1935 Wagner Labor Act, together with subsequent administrative rules and judicial decisions, made unions immune to anti-trust prosecution and enabled them to engage in criminal intimidation of employers and non-union employees with little fear of retaliation. As a consequence, union labor costs remained at levels too high for profitable production at full-employment levels.

Today, as the reality of market competition intrudes into this labor-liberal symbiotic affair, we have yet another opportunity to repair a union-made wreck.

Movie Scolded For Not Espousing Abortion

A new Hollywood comedy by Judd Apatow called “Knocked Up” is taking heat for its perceived stance on abortion from an unlikely source; the left. The movie is a comedy bordering on raunchiness that is proving a popular diversion this Summer with strong box office takes. It’s about a slobish sort of slacker (actor Seth Rogen) who has a one night stand with an incredibly beautiful and together woman (the delightful Katherine Heigl) who’s life is on the rise. Unfortunately for her, she gets pregnant. The rest of the movie centers on how these two very different people attempt to get together to have and raise their child… and therein lies the left’s displeasure.

You see, the couple decides to keep the baby instead of aborting it. How revolting, eh?

A snippy little review by Anthony Lane in The New Yorker snidely comments upon how Apatow’s film is geared towards the great unwashed “conservative” audiences, as if that in and of itself is a disgusting proposition.

We Should be More ‘British’ Says Tory Cameron – So Should Americans!

Several years ago, I wrote an article in which I urged our school systems to teach Americanism so that we could reestablish our American culture. I remember several letters scolding me for this notion, but I got far more agreeing with my main point; without our shared American culture we cannot stand as a nation.

I got one letter from a Brit extolling the virtues of his country saying that they didn’t “need to be British.” He said that it was fully accepted that being British was a meaningless construct and they didn’t need to be “British” there like we need to be “American” here. He was proud that they were somehow past all that “stuff and nonsense.”

Then came the bombings of 7/7.

Now comes the young leader of the British Conservatives, David Cameron, making the self-same argument I made back in 2002, but for his own countrymen. He feels they must be taught “Britishness” once again.

It Has Been Interesting

Well, it has been an interesting few weeks of news. In the past few weeks, the president wrote an executive order that essentially says (see link here), “This policy establishes “National Essential Functions,” prescribes continuity requirements for all executive departments and agencies, and provides guidance for State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector organizations in order to ensure a comprehensive and integrated national continuity program that will enhance the credibility of our national security posture and enable a more rapid and effective response to and recovery from a national emergency” In other words, without the legalese the President has the authority to declare martial law in order to coordinate “national resources” both public and private stave off critical falls of the economy and to centralize authority…

It has been an interesting few weeks, a team of foreign nations planned to blow up the fuel line of JFK International Airport (see link here), and if that is not enough, we have an immigration bill (see link here) that looks like the best compromise, because both extremes of the political aisle hate it,. But, upon further review it has some major flaws that need to be addressed before its passage. For instance, the twenty-four background check should be expanded to ninety-six hours (four business work days) to verify a person’s identity and criminal history. This will enable official the opportunity to full assess an alien criminal history and status….

New Scientist: People Love to Pay Taxes? Absurd ‘Study’ Presented as Fact

If this isn’t junk science, then nothing meets the requirement to be called such! A new, money wasting university “study” was written about by New Scientist Magazine (on their website newscientist.com) this month that was presented as a “surprising discovery” somehow “proving” that people secretly love to pay taxes. And people wonder why “science” can be so easily scoffed at these days… or why it’s so hard to believe what you read.

On top of the bad reporting, this story is more proof of the constant waste of money that is perpetrated by our National Universities. Instead of teaching useful information and conducting meaningful studies, this University is trying to “prove” that people really secretly LOVE paying taxes.

Gee, why do they want that little absurd concept floating out there, do you think? And why is this news outlet propagating this foolishness?

The Devil of the West—Islam and Science (A Review)*

In a recent article, in the July’s issue of Discover Magazine, by Todd Pitock, titled Science and Islam: Special Report–The Ultimate Conflict Between Science And Religion, begins with the usual insinuation of “Islamic” suspicion of embracing science. He infers that Islamists fundamentalist place blame squarely on the West for its role in hindering Arab countries development—like Egypt for instance. He speaks of Zaghloul El-Naggar, who views the West as evil incarnate—and sees the spiritual nature of his contemporaries—as waning and corrupt. In the sense that, the moral consciousness of the West’s scientists are “…’bringing the man far below the level of animals…’” In other words, like fundamentalist Christians, some of the Islamists feel and see science as subverting the word of God since it was has been by Him.

Admittedly, although Islam to some degree is willing to “acknowledge” the scientific method in the context that “its” scripture reveals, it is bounded; however, to the belief their prophets have provided the empirical knowledge. Pitock gives the examples of Islamic scientists using each other as sources to validate their work (p. 39). Thus, as he puts it, “creating the illusion” that proper research has been done.

Angelina Jolie in Movie About Freedom of the Press Bans Press from Interviews

How do you spell hypocrite? Apparently it’s J-O-L-I-E as the puff-lipped actress proves by banning Fox News from being permitted to interview her to promote her new role as the wife of martyred reporter Daniel Pearl in the upcoming movie “A Might Heart.” As Jolie touts press freedom, her newest pet cause, she inexplicably put several restrictions on that very freedom of the press — and not just against Fox News.

Fox News’ Roger Friedman reports Jolie’s hypocrisy.

‘Mighty’ Hypocrite Angelina Jolie Bans FOX and Others From Premiere

But Jolie turns out to be a mighty hypocrite when it comes to her own freedom of the press. Her lawyer required all journalists to sign a contract before talking to her, and Jolie instructed publicists at first to ban FOX News from the red carpet of her premiere.

Ironically, Wednesday night’s premiere of the excellent Michael Winterbottom-directed film was meant to support an organization called Reporters Without Borders. Jolie, however, did everything she could to clamp down on the press and control it.

Do none off these Hollywierd people have even the tiniest ability at introspection? Or are they so absolutely sure of their own god-like status that the fallibility of ordinary man is beyond their kin in their minds? Are they so focused on their ultimate goals that the path to them is immaterial? Is integrity such an unknown concept out on the left coast?

She wasn’t done with just attempting to ban Fox from the red carpet, either.

A World Without Habeas Corpus

I woke from a very disturbing dream the other night. Five women and I were involved in some business undertaking in the Middle East. Heading toward a building where we were to be meeting, the two women I had been following took a wrong turn and we ended up at a beach with high rises behind us. Many people were sunbathing and swimming. I was in business attire so I could not enjoy the beach but I remember thinking how clean and clear the water looked. The scene was very inviting.

Suddenly there was a disturbance in the water, and a soldier patrolling the beach walked over to us. This man had been collecting pink papers off the tables lining the beach, each with names on them, when it occurred to me that these papers held the names of anyone who was at the beach at that moment. As he picked up a paper, he turned to me. My heart pounding rapidly, I read the name and said it was not me but the woman standing near me. Very gruffly, he told her to come with him. She was being arrested for complicity in the disturbance because someone had to be blamed for what appeared to be a shark attack. Worried about what would happen next, I woke up, thinking about writ of habeas corpus and due process. These are rights of which many people living under extremist regimes do not have access. These are rights that people in our country take for granted, rights which would never allow the above situation to occur.

NBC Accuses Pentagon of Using Less Safe Body Armor… But is it?

Back on May 20th, the NBC News Investigative Unit excitedly reported that US Armed forces and the Pentagon may be forcing our soldiers to use body armor that is not as effective as newer models being produced. In an alarming TV report called “Are U.S. soldiers wearing the best body armor?”, NBC intimated that the Pentagon was sending our troops substandard bullet proof vests when they knew there was a better product out there suggesting that our government is putting our soldier’s safety at risk. But, further Congressional investigations and military testing results are beginning to prove that NBC’s breathless report about substandard armor is misleading. Will NBC do a follow up report admitting that their facts were wrong now that their original report has been revealed as hasty and ill informed?

Back on May 20th, intrepid NBC “investigator” Lisa Myers reported that NBC conducted “independent ballistics tests” to prove that Dragon Skin, the product created by Pinnacle Armor, was superior to the military’s currently used “Interceptor” body armor product.

But that isn’t all. NBC also claimed that there was a conspiracy against Dragon Skin. In their investigative report, NBC quotes a Nevin Rupert who claims that the Army refuses to certify Dragon Skin because approving Dragon Skin armor somehow threatened the Army’s power and funding.
