Stroger Ad Goes for the Race Card

-By Warner Todd Huston

Blogger Bill Baar of Bill Baar’s West Side ran across an interesting flier being distributed by the Todd Stroger for Cook County President campaign. And it’s all about the race card.

Yes, baby Stroger is going for the slavery/racism angle in order to convince folks that they’re all out to get him.

Message: if’n ya don’t vote for baby Stroger, ya’all are racists who are turnin’ into SLAVES!

Seriously, if any other candidate had put out such a flier people could really make an issue out of this. But, alas, it is baby Stroger. And, let’s face it, nothing he does is either consequential or surprising anymore. At some point it all amounts to a big ho hum.

Stroger will not win reelection. He’s done. I hope he’s stolen enough money from the county to keep himself in the style that daddy kept him in all these years because his political career is probably done.

Finally, I want to note that this flier was originally sent by Mr. Baar to the Illinois Review. Their post can be seen HERE. I am pointing this out specifically because certain parties have threatened me with the force of law if I were to somehow forget to mention that Illinois Review was a source for anything or another.

So, there ya go. My legal requirements are satisfied… I hope. I don’t want any lawyers knocking at my door.

So to recap, it was over at Illinois Review… OK? Remember that… Illinois Review for all your Illinois-like Reviewing. It wasn’t me. I didn’t report it first. It was Illinois Review. Go see them, won’t you? Say hey to the fine, fine folks at Illinois Review, pretty please?

Oh, and don’t mention I sent you. That won’t help your relationship with the wonderful folks at Illinois Review at all, I have to warn you. (And I don’t mean Fran, either. SHE’S a peach.)
